    A-H
  • A-Cup Angst: While not nearly as frequently occurring as it is with Rushia, Pekora has sometimes been deliberately teased about her modest chest size. A slightly downplayed case, as while Pekora herself acknowledges her model's modest bust, she takes it rather well, and it doesn't seem to be a Berserk Button for her as it is to Rushia.
  • Accidental Truth: At the start of her Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater playthrough, she randomly guesses the game's ending twist. The chat was not pleased.
  • Actually Pretty Funny: When she arrives in the Minecraft server, she noticed Subaru's completed Shubagelion holding both hers and Miko's heads and thought it was funny.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: An element of humor involving her misfortune lies in how quickly she goes from smug gloating to begging for forgiveness the moment things go awry, and then back to smug gloating when the situation starts looking better for her.
  • Alternative Number System: While it is known that she was 111 years old as far as a few months after her debut, during her 2021 Birthday Countdown stream, she revealed that Pekolanders append a '1' to their age each birthday instead of adding 1. This, if taken at face value, would mean her "Japan age" is in fact her real age.
  • Amusement Park of Doom: Pekoland, a Minecraft build she asked all of the then-current members of Usada Kensetsu to contribute to. Most of the attractions there are designed to do some amount of damage if not kill outright, and the ones she developed personally are the most devious.
  • Animal Motifs: Rabbits.
  • Ascended Meme: Her prisoner outfit was initially designed to be an April Fools outfit, but it proved to be both popular and versatile, leading her to still use it in projects related to the Oozora Police or when playing games involving prison.
  • Asshole Victim: In some streams, she tries to be smug and confident only to repeatedly fail and be brought down several pegs by others, her fans especially.
  • Benevolent Boss: She's very generous to her Usaken "employees", always giving them valuable goods whenever they complete a project, and not hesitating to praise them for a job well done or when they build something impressive.
  • Berserk Button: Being called a comedian. When she asked her native fans what her western fans think of her, they tell her that they call her a crazy rabbit and a comedian, something she doesn't appreciate. And then when Moona tells her the most popular comedian she knows is her, she does not take it well and immediately corrects her, telling her she's an idol. Moona then asks, "Hololive is an idol?"
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: She has noticeably thick eyebrows, especially compared with the thinner designs of most of the cast.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Assuming what she told Flare and Coco is true, Pekora (and all Pekolanders by extension) doesn't have actual, functional "human" ears on the sides of her head. Hers are just for show and to appeal to her audience, since normal humans are more likely to love what they are familiar with. Additionally, her rabbit ears will also grow back if they're somehow cut off. Even more bizarre is that she can somehow use headphones with either of her pairs of ears without issue, despite the fact that her human ears are supposedly fake.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Implied, since Pekora wears glasses. In one stream, she had to take a short break to put on contacts after accidentally bending her glasses and popping a lens out of the frame, and her eyesight is implied to be so poor that she can't read her chat without aid.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: During the Mario Kart 8 Tournament for New Years 2024, Pekora borrows "BAU BAU" from EN's FUWAMOCO. The demon dog twins were not amused.
  • Brawn Hilda: In a break from her tradition of designing custom game characters after herself, Pekora's avatar in Street Fighter 6 is a giant hulk of a woman with a disproportionately tiny head.
  • Butt-Monkey: In her 3D debut, she gets flustered, embarrassed, teased, mocked and shocked.
  • Call-Back: On December 6th, 2020, Pekora started a project in Minecraft where she would terraform a desert to create a giant Usada Kensetsu logo so it would display as artwork on a map. She spent an hour looking for a desert big enough to transform until a viewer pointed Pekora towards the area where she made her rapid-fire TNT cannon, the very first construction of Usada Kensetsu made one year prior.
  • The Cameo: Pekora makes a cameo appearance in the anime adaptation of How Not to Summon a Demon Lord as a Grasswalker. The Grasswalker is color-swapped, and on that basis, Pekora insists that the Grasswalker is not Pekora herself. That said, the Grasswalker shares many similar traits, like the carrots lodged into her braids, her right ear folding when sad, and the rabbit scarf.
  • Character Catchphrase: While less noticeable compared to her Signature Laugh, she tends to call anything amazing "kami kami," which means "godlike". "Kitira!" is also a very commonly used celebratory cheer, meaning something in the neighborhood of "I did it!".
  • Character Development: Originally didn't log into the Minecraft server when there were too many people online. Befriending Moona changed this; the sheer fun the two had together made Pekora realize how much more fun she could have playing together with the others. While her shyness hasn't entirely gone away, she is more likely to initiate or jump into impromptu collabs when she runs into other people on the server.
  • Character Tics: Her nose usually becomes runny when she gets nervous; as a result she will usually start sniffing or deeply inhaling a lot during tense situations. She also has a notable habit of angrily clicking her tongue when she's getting frustrated.
  • Characterization Marches On: While she is still rather introverted in normal circumstances, Pekora was initially portrayed as a shy and frail rabbit girl with low self-esteem. Nowadays, in character, she's more so a smug Rascally Rabbit girl who tends to get what's coming to her for her outlandish actions. Despite the character shift, however, Pekora does on occasion admit to being very hesitant with social interactions, especially in large groups of people.
  • The Chew Toy: The chat loves to bully her, usually by making jokes at her misfortune.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Moona attempts to flirt with Pekora during their first voice-call collab.
Pekora: Moona, what is your favorite food?
    Moona: [with no hesitation] You.
Pekora: [Beat] ...Oh my God! Oh my God! In Indonesia, are rabbits food?
  • Comedic Sociopathy: She lives and breathes this trope.
    • Much like Suisei, she enjoys inflicting psychological warfare on someone. She infamously gathered several villagers for scientific experiment involving a zombie, makes death traps as a prank, and naturally acts like a supervillain when a duck and a chick escaped her farmhouse and kills its mother and letting the chick live on the grounds that it's still a child, but did it in a Itachi Uchiha-esque way of doing it note . She is infamously called a war criminal by fans for her actions in Minecraft as a result.
    • Hogwarts Legacy has her trying to use the Unforgivable Curses (as in, three of the most vile and unethical dark magic spells in the setting) almost immediately after she gets a wand, and any doubts about her booting up the game just to be able to use them should be dispelled by the sheer manic glee in her voice when she finally gets to cast one.
  • Covert Pervert: Leave Pekora and Marine together for long enough, particularly when drinking is involved, and it's usually the much more openly perverted Marine who is left either speechless or shocked by what Pekora will say.
  • Culture Equals Costume: According to Pekora, her default outfit is actually the formal uniform of Pekoland and everybody there wears the same uniform.
  • Cuteness Overload: She experiences this daily after adopting a pet cat, with her gushing constantly on-stream about how cute he is and even sharing photos with her viewers. Further kicked into high gear as of late February 2022, where it's revealed that she has adopted a second one.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Often, but one particular example comes from after she had gotten an especially strong sword in Minecraft, she was told that the sword wouldn't burn in the lava. After double-checking, she decides to throw it in a pool of lava without any plan to get it back. She does retrieve it eventually, but only after nearly dying to that same lava pool and spending many minutes panicking.
  • The Dreaded: Pekora has a reputation for being an absolute menace to her hapless fellow idols in games like Minecraft and Rust, where an encounter with the rabbit often results in the member being nonchalantly gunned down before they could react. Even those with similarly sketchy reputations like Miko and Matsuri would know to give her a wide berth if they could, though Suisei and Sora are the few who can elicit this response from her instead.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Grand Theft Auto V is no slouch proving that most of the talents are bad at handling vehicles outside of racing games like Mario Kart, but in Pekora's case it stands out that throughout her entire playthrough, she barely even knows how to reverse. Interestingly, she fares much better with driving motorcycles than cars, but even then she still crashes a lot.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: The Peko Shuba war between Subaru and Pekora reminded fans of another duck and rabbit duo.
  • Dull Eyes of Unhappiness: Two of her expressions in her prison outfit features her normally bright eyes darker and faded, as if Pekora has experienced severe trauma upon her arrest.
  • Ears as Hair: Averts this with her main design, but her casual outfit plays this straight, with her rabbit ears being tied up as if they were a braid on the top of her head.
  • Engrish: Her attempts to communicate with Moona. They're somewhat effective thanks to the help of her chat, but not good enough to make Pekora suddenly realize she said something too forceful and basically had extorted Moona for resources. Hilariously enough, a couple days later she tricked Flare (whose English is much worse) into doing the exact same thing.
  • Epic Fail: Her Ikebo Persona Bekora suffers this quite often due to Pekora's awkwardness preventing her from outright flirting as much as it ends up causing confusion and embarrassment.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: She has tiny pink bunny heads for pupils, although they're really only noticeable in high-res official renders, or when she deliberately brings her model close in view.
  • Explosive Stupidity: A particularly amusing case of this happens to her in her run of Fireworks Mania. After causing chaos in a town and later a farm with assorted fireworks, Pekora crams an entire farmhouse with explosives and gas bottles (and a flamingo lawn ornament) in an attempt to spectacularly blow it up. Unfortunately for her, she accidentally detonates them all having only taken a few steps away.
Pekora: Hmm, what should I do next? (immediately stops as she hears the sizzle of a fuse) What's that sound...? (BOOM) WAIT A SEC! WAIT A SEC! PEKORA'S FIREWORKS ARE GOING OFF! DON'T JUST GO OFF ON YOUR OWN!
  • Expy: A Grasswalker who takes a lot after Pekora appears in the background of the How Not to Summon a Demon Lord anime. Pekora insists that the Grasswalker is not Pekora herself, pointing out the differences in color. She does note the similarities, down to the carrots lodged into her braids, how her ear folds when sad, and Don-chan.
  • Failsafe Failure: Averted by grace of her chat. Upon acquiring copper, Pekora hears that Minecraft lightning rods attract lightning, but misunderstands them as neutralizing lightning altogether note . This could have caused disaster when she placed a bunch specifically on the wool blocks in Pekoland Castle. Fortunately, her horrified chat frantically informed her how they worked, and she moved them to safer locations.
  • Family of Choice: She declared herself to be the big sister to Fuwawa and Mococo in January 2024 and a long-lost part of a supposed triplet, despite their obvious species difference. The twins for the most part are rather approving of their new "sibling".
  • Fangirl:
    • Became one of Metal Gear after playing Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. She quickly followed up with the rest of MGS1-4, picked up Snake as her main in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and even obtained a ration to try out for her 300,000 subscribers celebration.
    • She accidentally revealed to Sora during a Minecraft collab that she's a Soratomo with a membership.
    • Additionally, she's also a huge fan of Lionel Messi (and of football in general for that matter).
    • Implied to be a GaoGaiGar fan as she reacts with enthusiasm to GaoFighGar's appearance in Super Robot Wars 30's pv.
  • Foreign Culture Fetish: Gives this as the reason she can speak Japanese despite being from Pekoland, a place where everyone speaks in Pokémon Speak.
Pekora: Pekora studied really hard to learn to speak Japanese, you know? Isn't that worth praising, peko? You see, I really love Japan so I studied everything about it. What'd ya think?
  • Furry Reminder:
    • In the 1-2-Switch collab with Nekomiya Hinata, upon losing a game of table tennis (that she desperately wanted to win), she begins to disgruntledly stomp her right foot in silence. Although Pekora herself might not have had this trope in mind at the time, it has certainly reminded many viewers of rabbits' tendency to thump their feet when angry.
    • A mild case in her 3D model debut stream : During the introduction, she playfully hopped left and right in quick succession.
  • Gatling Good: Her Pekora Tower in Minecraft has a massive (arrow-firing) gatling cannon jutting out from its side that's aimed at Sora's guild hall, though from the position where it was constructed, many of her fellow idols noted how it resembled a Phallic Weapon instead.
  • The Gambling Addict: Dragon Quest V shows that she's a significant one, spending a lot of time in the casino. There's even a two minute clip showing her going through every stage of a gambling addiction, and all of this was over the course of a single stream. She then tried to sell Pankraz's sword to gamble more, but you can't sell it.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: Pekora spends much of her Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater playthrough having Snake CQC soldiers instead of shooting them, even if she has to run across large swathes of empty space to get to her target. To be fair to her, MGS3 doesn't exactly have the most intuitive shooting controls out there.
  • Going Commando: It's implied that Pekora doesn't wear any underwear beneath her coat. When Miko made a passing joke about it in Pekora's 3D model debut, she didn't deny this being the case.
Miko: You're not wearing any panties after all, right?
Pekora: (hushed voice) You don't have to say it...!
  • Got Me Doing It: Because Pekora's Verbal Tic is something that is one of the most pronounced among hololive (and the only consistent one in her generation), more than a fair share of hololivers actually copy it from time to time.
  • Gratuitous English: Although she always makes an effort to communicate in English with members of HoloID and HoloEN when she's playing Minecraft with them, her proficiency with it is somewhat tenuous at best. While Pekora seems to understand English to a degree, she often mangles words that she has only heard of and doesn't know how to pronounce, leading to interesting examples like "acusideent" (accident) and "anbribaboo" (unbelievable). Pekomama lampshades this the moment Pekora introduces her to Kiara and says she is in hololive EN, interjecting to tell her daughter that her English is very bad.
  • Hammerspace: In one episode of Holo no Grafitti, it is revealed that Pekora's hair braids contain a miniature singularity in them, and the carrots she wears actually serve as plugs of some sort. When one of the carrots was removed, Noel, Shion, and Korone got sucked into the void.
  • Head Pet: The Pekomon. Its facial expressions actually share the same rigging as Pekora's own, thus will reflect whatever emotes she's making at the time.
  • Hell Is That Noise: Pekora's toy rabbit is Cuteness Proximity-inducing on its own, but with five of them, it quickly becomes this as the rabbits basically enter a feedback loop of imitating each other.
    Pekora: Shut up!
    Rabbit, imitating her: Shut up!
  • Hey, You!: She tends to belt out an annoyed "Teme!" when inconvenienced or spooked by an in-game enemy.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • She takes the time to write and tweet a poem at the start of her streams.
    • Despite her usual antics, Pekora had demonstrated time and time again that she's also a pretty damn good singer in her own right. One of her most successful attempts to date was her cover of Nanawo Akari's Discommunication Alien, which overtook the original five-year-old version in views and reach in the span of less than nine months. Many fans have joked about how this natural-born comedian is now singing like an actual idol.
    • She's so well known for shenanigans that it's easy to forget her strong appreciation for long, story-driven games. She has more RPG playthroughs under her belt than just about any other member and shows a similar passion for games like the Metal Gear franchise. There's a reason the Dragon Quest fanfare is known as Pekoland's national anthem, after all.
    • She has shared that she's a qualified childcare worker and kindergarten teacher and that she can also play the piano quite well. This starts to make sense once you realize that Pekora's engagement with her viewers is surprisingly wholesome and doesn't delve into questionable content like some of her peers, making her antics akin to old-school cartoons like Looney Tunes.
  • Hot-Blooded: She's loud, passionate, and rambunctious, and she knows it. Amusingly, this is downplayed when off-stream and/or grouped with the other members of Fantasy.
  • Humongous Mecha: Her self-styled "Pekodam" in Minecraft is supposed to be this, being ostensibly a Gundam version of herself. It has gone on to inspire other hololive members to build their own Humongous Mechas as well.
  • The Hyena: On a good day, Pekora just can't seem to stop laughing. If she's not constantly cracking up at random things she encountered in the games she's streaming, she's either chuckling while being up to no good, or at the hijinks that her friends are taking part in.
    • Taken to its logical extremes in this Super Smash Bros. Ultimate stream, where she's left constantly wheezing for several minutes from Rushia making weird sounds and turning into EVA Unit 01 partway through the match. The audience even joked that her directional laughter was actually the inputs all along.
    • In her English Quiz Stream she wound up laughing a lot from many of the odd "questions" present. Her reaction to both Takashi being referred to as a cockroach and Takashi asking if a pen (actually a pencil) is a pen left Pekora out of breath.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Despite being one of the most consistent hololive idols with her Verbal Tic, Pekora cannot stand it when anyone else copies it, calling it weird and evidentally cringing when she hears it.

    I-Y
  • I Call It "Vera": While playing Fireworks Mania, Pekora becomes attached to a particularly large Cartoon Bomb she finds on a farm — and then promptly goes flying through the air on — which she names Tim.
  • I Have Boobs, You Must Obey!: She tried to distract Marine with the sexy during a losing game of Hare and Hound in order to make the pirate slip up and let her win. It didn't work as she had imagined though, due to her avatar's lack of "assets".
  • Idiot Hero: She proudly declared she doesn't need Intelligence during her Fallout 4 stream and set it to the minimum of 1. She was annoyed to find her chat calling it true to life.
  • If It's You, It's Okay: Pekora, in a notable departure from her fellow idols, has been noted to actually be uncomfortable with flirtations and two of the most notorious serial flirters (Marine and Matsuri) refrain from doing so out of respect. However, she will allow some flirtation from those she feels closer to (Moona, Miko, and occasionally Marine) without problem, though she won't flirt back.
  • Insistent Terminology: Pekora is not a comedian, she's an idol. Not that her audience cares, anyhow.
  • Institutional Apparel: She has a striped prisoner outfit, complete with a carrot-themed ball and chain. The outfit was revealed on April Fools' Day, 2021, with a skit insisting that her exploitation of villagers in Minecraft isn't a "war crime" like her fans say it is.
  • Irony: She's a rabbit girl who dislikes carrots. Pekora once held a carrot-eating stream where she tried to eat three (raw ones), where the taste and toughness of the vegetable almost put her off several times, even after applying mayonnaise to them note . The stream went on for more than an hour before she was able to finish all of them. Kiara was very quick to poke fun at the irony.
Kiara: Aren't you supposed to be a rabbit?
  • I Shall Taunt You: Comes with her Smug Snake package. If Pekora has the upper hand in a competition and knows it, she will not hesitate to taunt and make fun of her opponent to make them slip up even further, sometimes even joining their own streams to do so over voice chat, as poor Noel can attest to during their Getting Over It contest. This usually devolves into Unsportsmanlike Gloating if she ends up winning.
  • It Runs in the Family: According to her "Come out" 1-million subscribers celebration stream, it's quite apparent that Pekora inherited her Signature Laugh from her mother.
  • I Work Alone: Due to Pekora's extreme introversion, she tended to only stream Minecraft when there weren't many other members online and consistently denied help when working on larger, more involved projects since she was afraid of being a hindrance, with Miko being one exception. As noted below, Moona helped her get over her anxiety slightly and she began willingly accepting help for more advanced constructions, first only from Moona and then also from other members that joined Usaken like Kiara, Coco and Kanata.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Downplayed, but Pekora does enjoy in messing around with anyone in just about every way possible, being quite the mix of a prankster and a troll at any given point. However, she's very kind, and she keeps all the gifts she's been given from her fans. As Pekora's fans are quick to point out, her main goal in her pranking is to make her friends laugh rather than being outright malicious like most trolls. To wit, when Rushia accidentally fell into Pekora's slime trap and lost a number of items including an enchanted pickaxe, Pekora's response was to leave a chest full of items (including a new pickaxe) on Rushia's doorstep as an apology, even though it wasn't technically her fault note .
  • Kiai: She has a habit of loudly screaming "ORA!" when beating someone or something up in games, or at least she tries to, as with her special way of enunciating it, it usually comes across as anything but that.
  • The Leader: Much to her surprise, the rest of third gen views Pekora as this, usually following her example and wanting her to do her best.
  • Leg Focus: According to Marine, Pekora has nice, long legs that are normally covered by long skirts.
    • With her Bunny Dress outfit, her legs are accentuated by her wearing heels and black thigh high fishnet stockings
  • Likes Older Men: If her playthroughs of the Metal Gear series and Yakuza 0 are any indication, she Fangirls hard for middle-aged badasses.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Has bunny ears and a tail to match. Oddly enough, her human ears are still present (they're more obvious on 3D streams) and it's never implied that her bunny ears are fake. Flare points this out while chatting in one stream, blowing both Marine and Coco's minds. She soon explains her human ears as just for show so humans can relate to her easier.
  • Live Mink Coat: The rabbit scarf around her neck is named Don-chan. He's extraordinarily lazy.
  • Lunarians: Considering that both she and other hololive members consider the Moon as her homeplace, this would mean that Pekoland is in fact a country on the Moon, and that Pekolanders are essentially moon rabbits.
  • Mad Bomber: She frequently gives off this vibe in Minecraft due to a long history of TNT-related shenanigans. The majority of her builds tend to feature copious amounts of explosives that she gleefully unleashes on both her colleagues and the game's NPCs, often while cackling maniacally at their predicament, though these schemes have also backfired on her on numerous occasions as well, thus cementing the fanbase's view of Pekora as something of a comically-deranged bomber and war criminal.
  • Manipulative Bastard: In regards to both her pranking and in games of deception such as Among Us, she is a master at predicting her fellow members' actions and moving them in such a way to be beneath suspicion. In particular, she gained the trust of several members in a 1v7 match of Among Us and let them turn against each other in order to achieve a nearly impossible victory as the Impostor.
  • Moon Rabbit: What she is meant to be. On numerous occasions, the Moon has been referred to as her homeplace. Additionally, in Watame's Can You Do the hololive song, her accompanying background visual also directly depicts this moon rabbit imagery.
  • Morality Pet: Moona, at least initially. Out of all the hololive members on the Japanese Minecraft server, Pekora used to spare her from pranks and makes every effort to help and communicate with her in English. Even Moona herself was nervous at first that she was going to be spontaneously blown up. It was only after witnessing Moona's ability in construction that she became willing to prank her. In addition, Pekora has made an exception for Moona and invited her to work on a large cooperative construction project together, something that Pekora rarely does since she normally likes to work alone.
  • Motifs: She's based on a rabbit so naturally, carrots. Pekora herself has several carrots embedded on her, such as in her hair and her clothing. Her stream starting transition features a stylized carrot, some of her stream backgrounds are literally just a bunch of carrots against a colored rectangle, and most of her self-styled imagery has to contain a carrot somewhere, sometimes coming close to reaching the point of Sigil Spam.
  • Motif Merger: The official Usada Kensetsu logo features Pekora's rabbit and carrot motifs with a purple moon in the back for Moona Hoshinova.
  • Motor Mouth: Downplayed when compared to Suisei or Miko, but when Pekora feels nervous she notably talks a lot faster, as seen when she finally speaks with Himawari (a Vtuber from a different company) whom she admires. Himawari herself points out Pekora speaks unusually fast when compared to her streams.
  • NEET: Zigzagged; her immediate family doesn't know that she's employed as a VTuber, so they treat her as if she was a NEET. A few weeks after she hit 1 million subscribers, Pekora told her mother about hololive and held a stream properly introducing her to the fanbase.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: In one of her Minecraft streams, when she saw the completed Shubangelion holding the severed vomiting heads of herself and Miko, she found it cute.
  • Noblewoman's Laugh: Her Signature Laugh has been likened to this, which makes sense in hindsight considering how she's basically a noblewoman due to her status as princess of Pekoland.
  • No Sense of Direction: This incident on ARK: Survival Evolved. She has trouble figuring out directions relative to a map like "north is to your left" (to the point where she asks her chat to explain it like she's a grade schooler) and consistently gets cardinal directions (north, south, east, west) incorrectly, thanks to a mahjong mnemonic that she understood wrong.
  • Official Couple: She's officially "married" to Marine as of December 2023 as part of the promo for their song Bridal Dream. The pair even have a daughter named Makora (voiced by Raden) as a result of this development.
  • Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping: During rare moments when Pekora gets distracted enough (e.g. when Marine drunkenly prank called her), she will start speaking in her real, natural voice, which sounds surprisingly mature and deep (about on par with A-chan of all people) compared to the high-pitched voice her character is known for. Usually, she will be quick to notice and correct this.
  • Overly Pre-Prepared Gag: Pekora's 2024 April Fool's gag, which has Pekomama make her "debut" as a VTuber, complete with her own Live2D model and introductory slides. And with management's approval, nonetheless. This "debut stream" peaked with about 181,000 viewers.
  • Parrot Exposition: Pekora inadvertently gets into the habit of doing this in her Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater playthrough, and she almost always parrots someone shortly before Snake does. She even lampshades this at one point.
EVA: I've hidden a WIG there.
    Pekora: WIG?
    Snake: WIG?
    EVA: It's a state-of-the-art ground effect vehicle.
Pekora: What's that? Ground effect... vehicle?
    Snake: Ground effect vehicle?
Pekora: This is bad, I'm starting to synchronize with Snake. [laughs]
  • The Paragon: Because of her example both Moona and Kiara were both inspired by her to do better (in Moona's case being too shy before Pekora started talking to her to make friends, and in Kiara's case showing her a new way to reach her dream by joining Hololive), and both have broken into tears from thinking about how meeting Pekora changed their lives. Pekora also realized once that her own behavior had started to change after meeting Moona to be more confident.
  • Pokémon Speak: Not Pekora herself (at least on earth), but on many occasions, she has stated that the Pekoland language, her native tongue, consists only of the word "Peko".
  • Playboy Bunny: Her default outfit to go along with the rabbit motif though her coat makes it less obvious.
  • Poor Communication Kills: When she starts getting a zombie villager to follow her throughout hololive's minecraft server, she doesn't tell anyone what she's doing. Lamy, rather fairly, assumes Pekora is being attacked and tries to "save" her. Pekora then kills her.
  • The Prankster: Pekora really, really, likes to punk her fellow idols if she could in free-building cooperative games like Minecraft or ARK, where the extent of her creativity in pranking isn't limited by the game's design. Almost all of her constructs in Minecraft are made to confuse, maim, and/or kill the unwitting participant, allowing her to laugh at their expense, which were then introduced to the rest of Hololive at large when the branch servers were merged, and much of her interactions with the other idols in ARK boil down to her doing weird things to their avatars while they are offline.
  • Protectorate: Of Marine, after she saw how shy and anxious Pekora is in real life. If they're playing a game together and aren't at each other's throats, Marine will tend to take Pekora's side and be defensive of her as well.
  • Put on a Bus: Midway through May 2022, Pekora announced that she'd go on a few weeks of hiatus due to worsening vocal nodules that became apparent on her streams the month prior. Much like Suisei and Marine (who were both hit by the same condition in 2021), there's little she can do except take a longer rest period than what she typically takes to alleviate the problem.
  • Rascally Rabbit: What a lot of her fans think she is. In the overseas fandom, some call her a "crazy rabbit".
Pekora: Maybe what overseas see about Pekora is... that they think Pekora is a "crazy rabbit" or something.
  • Really Royalty Reveal: During her debut stream, there was no mention or hint of her being royalty, much less a princess. She would later on reveal that she's the princess of Pekoland and that she purposely hid her identity at that time because she thought it would be better for her to do so as princesses often get kidnapped. Despite some viewers' doubting whether this was true or not however, one of her card in the official Rebirth for You trading card game confirms that she is, in fact, the princess of Pekoland.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: In June 2022, Pekora acquired a pet Senegalese bushbaby named Jill.
  • Screaming Warrior: Much of her Mordhau playthrough is spent either screaming along with her Player Character or screaming at her teammates to go kill things.
  • Shared Family Quirks: It seems that being a Smug Smiler is a hereditary trait, as both Pekora and her mother can pull this off almost effortlessly in an identical manner.
  • Shipper on Deck: Possibly. Pekora seems to be one of the most curious about how genuine Flare and Noel's relationship is, seeing how she's asked Noel twice on the subject.
  • Shrinking Violet:
    • Despite her behavior on stream, she is incredibly shy offline. During her first meetup with the other members of the 3rd generation, she met with Marine at a train station on the way and clung to her like a lost child until they arrived.
    • Before a collab with the first generation, Pekora was a nervous wreck in the waiting room -even admitting this to the staff before the stream began- and struggled a lot to start conversations with both Matsuri and Haato while waiting for Miko as it was the first time Pekora met both and Miko was the only one she was comfortable talking with. However, Miko was the last to arrive.
    • She has admitted she doesn't like logging onto the hololive Minecraft server when there's more than one or two people on and prefers to work on her more advanced projects alone, with her reasoning being that it stresses her out to work with others. Interestingly enough, she made fast friends with and gets very well along with Moona despite not being fluent in English. According to Pekora herself, this is because she somehow feels more confident when speaking in English.
  • Signature Laugh: Has a distinctive, high-pitched laugh that fansubbers often accent with arrows. It seems to be genuine, as according to other Vtubers she's met IRL, it's the same offline; also, when asked to force it, she can't pull it off convincingly. Unfortunately, however, Pekora seemed to have lost this character trait as of early 2023, as even she herself has admitted to not being able to laugh like she used to anymore, much to the Nousagi's collective dismay.
    Pekora: AH↓HA↑HA↑HA↑HA↑
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis:
    • With Miko. If they meet on the same game, chances are they'll be at each other's throats and/or trying to out-prank each other. Makes sense since they met before joining hololive. She once even apologized to her about it before both just bursted out laughing. This culminates in PekoMiko War, a music video based on this rivarly.
    • Also with Noel. After using psychological warfare on Noel, the latter had been forced to play a VR horror after losing their Getting Over It race. Since then, Noel makes it very personal whenever she's brought up. The feeling is apparently mutual, since when they play Among Us, Pekora only voted Noel while everyone else voted on Pekora (keep in mind, Botan was explaining what the game mechanics was to the other girls, and voting someone off the ship if they think the person on question was an Impostor in an Emergency Meeting). It reaches its breaking point when Noel and Pekora had a massive argument while Nene was in the middle of it, and trying to get her to choose a side. Nene eventually chooses Noel and has Pekora booted, who was the Impostor.
    • She and Subaru seem to have this dynamic going on as well in Minecraft, with the two of them (usually Pekora) regularly pulling increasingly elaborate pranks at the other's expense. Their rivalry has since been dubbed the "PekoSuba War" in a similar vein to Pekora's relationship with Miko and has even extended to other games such as ARK.
  • Smug Smiler: Her avatar's almost always smiling, and Pekora's typical attitude is very smug.
  • Smug Snake: Befitting her noticeable wicked streak when it comes to games, Pekora loves to taunt and mess with people whenever she thinks she's got the upper hand. However, the second things get out of her control, she quickly panics and tries to weasel out of any punishment she might receive.
  • Straight Man:
    • Only when she's with the other members of the third generation. It helps that of the five of them, she's the only one who hasn't expressed attraction to someone in their group, leading her to be the more rational one of the lot.
    • Surprisingly, this also apply when she works with Moona in her Minecraft streams due to the latter's Brutal Honesty and The Tease tendencies.
  • Tears of Joy: She cried happy tears after she reached 1 million subscribers during a live stream.
  • Technician vs. Performer: Has this dynamic with Moona. While Moona's eye for aesthetics and use of piston doors wows viewers and the other members to the point where people jokingly call her the CEO, Pekora herself is often the one to push the boundaries for what is done on the server. She made valuable facilities like the Golem Farm and the TTT for material and EXP farming, and also put out ambitious works of art like Pekodam and pseudo-paintings made by depicting gigantic pixel arts using maps, inspiring the other members to do the same. And of course, her love for chaos and destruction has seen the development of several intricate traps and engines of destruction. This is best demonstrated in Pekoland, where she employs a wide variety of tricks to spring on her guests.
  • Third-Person Person: She refers to herself as "Pekora", "Peko-chan", or variants thereof almost all the time. Only very rarely will she use the standard Japanese pronoun "watashi", and these are occasionally the moments where she forgot to be in character. The only exception to this is her Twitter poems.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: She has a visual variant of this. Whenever she's playing a horror game and expecting to be terrified, her right ear will fold down slightly.
  • Token Wholesome: She keeps the lewdness in her streams to a minimum, partly because she likes to consider herself child-friendly (her usual shenanigans notwithstanding) and partly because she doesn't even exude that kind of air. Even when Pekora got a model upgrade and tried to do an ahegao, a couple of fans point out that she does not look lewd in the slightest.
  • Tomato in the Mirror: In an animated sketch, Pekora finds an item called the Peko Note where upon righting down someone's name would inflict them with "Peko speak". Pekora at first is eager to use this to become god of a new world and right the names down of several of the other girls, but her plan backfires when they all start doing streams impersonating Pekora and get more views than her. So Pekora opts to erase all of their names and revert them back to normal.. before she notices her own name was already written in the book.
  • Troll: She has an almost Tewi-like propensity for indirectly messing with her fellow hololive members, especially where Minecraft is concerned.
  • Trrrilling Rrrs: She has a very particular way of enunciating words with a R in them. Her "ORA!" is an outstanding example.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Surprisingly enough, not carrots, even though she would occasionally play this up for comedic effects. Pekora likes milk, a lot, and has shared stories of her drinking her brother's milk without his knowledge several times on stream. A small carton of milk is also usually seen next to her stream avatar in the same vein as Suisei's box of apple juice, or Watame's tube of potato chips.
  • The Unmasking: Pekora finally revealed she was a VTuber to her mother after reaching 1 million subscribers.
  • Unusual Euphemism: In Minecraft, Pekora created two item farming contraptions that involve dropping hostile monsters from high altitudes so that the fall will kill them and their loot will drop. When explaining in English how this process works to Moona, she says that the monsters "fall in love".
  • Unwanted Assistance: Happens less often, but Pekora can also sometimes end up accidentally screwing up someone that she's actually trying to help. To wit, in Minecraft she was trying to give Miko some cover fire as Miko built a bridge. She shot Miko instead, sending her plummeting to her doom. As Jerk with a Heart of Gold above states however, she will at least try and make up for it. In this case, she did by rushing back down and picking up Miko's equipment before it despawned.
  • Unwanted Harem: She has a veritable one going on, with Miko, Moona, Marine, and Kiara being the most notable members. Downplayed in that she's not frustrated by the idea of the harem existing, unlike the usual examples of this trope, but she also doesn't seem to pay it any mind either, and keeps everyone at arm's length (except for Miko).
  • Verbal Tic:
    • Tends to end her sentences with "peko" (ぺこ), though it's not consistent as she will occasionally forget to be in character. If someone is making a Pekora impression, chances are they will be saying "peko" a lot more regularly than the real deal. Official English translations of the animated shorts turn it into puns by replacing certain syllables with "peko", i.e. "pekoing to" (going to), "pekon" (reckon), and "pekouraged" (encouraged). Taken to its logical conclusion in one episode of HoloGra, appropriately titled "Verbal Pek" in English, where she can force others to subconsciously "peko" by writing their names into the "Peko Note" which, rather amusingly, also includes her own name, hinting that the way she usually speaks was influenced by someone.
    • She tends to trill her R's whenever she says words with an R in them. Some notable examples...
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Pekora has this dynamic with several of her fellow idols.
    • She is this with both Miko and Marine. Almost any time Pekora is pitted against one of them in any sort of competition will resort in taunts and insults flying between them until a victor is decided and then some, but she's quite close and comfortable with both. The "best bud" part is doubly-so with Miko, where she went as far as to admit that if she ever did a Totsumachi event note , she believed Miko would be the only one who would show up.
    • She and Noel also like to take potshots at each other if given the chance, and their collabs usually involve them (usually Pekora) trying to ruthlessly prank each other and laugh at the victim's expense, but they also have moments of genuine appreciation for one another that they often express on their own solo streams.
  • Weight Woe: For a while, since she noted that she was gaining a bit around her tummy, leading to her weighing herself on-stream and feeling relieved that she wasn't as heavy as she thought. According to her admission, she weighs as much as three carrots, and her character model rather conspicuously has exactly three carrots stuck into various places, so she's essentially claiming to be weightless. This has shifted in the latter half of 2021, where she barely brings it up anymore but her peers have all commented in surprise about how slim she's gotten.
  • You Fool!: "Bakatare ga!". It's basically one of her catchphrases, and she does call people that on occasion, though according to Kiara's stream chat, Pekora apparently reserves it only for those she likes, making it an Insult of Endearment.

Appears in: Pekora Ch. 兎田ぺこら

Pekora's real-life mother, who was initially unaware of her daughter's VTubing career but gradually made sporadic guest spots on her show. She made her "official" debut on April 1st, 2024 with all the formality of a Hololive debut stream.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents:
    • During the long-awaited stream introducing her Pekomama starts copying Pekora's invokedVerbal Tic, leaving the latter cringing and exclaiming that the stream will become her invokeddark history. When Pekora reluctantly admits that it would make sense for her mother to use the verbal tic as she's "also from Pekoland", Pekomama uses it again, causing Pekora to cringe even harder.
    • In the same stream, Pekora reads over some of her fellow idols' official bios. When they get to Kiara's, Pekomama's reaction to hololive English is to interject and tell her daughter that her English is very bad. Pekora nervously tries to sweep the issue under the rug, but admits shortly afterward that she's forgotten the pronunciation of the word "phoenix". Pekomama also pretends to treat Kiara like an in-law when Pekora mentions that Kiara "likes her".
    • She copies Pekora's verbal tic again when collaborating with her on a cooking stream, and Pekora immediately tells her to stop, no doubt out of embarrassment.
  • Breakout Character: She was always a popular side character for Pekora, but her April Fools Day debut became one of the most viewed debut streams in Hololive history at around 181k, ignoring the April Fools Day part.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: The first time she appeared on Pekora's channel, she was represented with a public domain illustration of a stock mom with bunny ears. Eventually, she would get her own official design that resembled her daughter with motherly traits.
  • Feminine Mother, Tomboyish Daughter: She's a calm and nurturing homemaker, which contrasts sharply with Pekora's bratty, cacophonic shenanigans.
  • Modest Royalty: Given that Pekora is the princess of Pekoland and that the word "princess" refers to a woman member of a royal family, especially the daughter of a monarch, it raises the possibility that Pekomama is the queen of Pekoland, in which case her homemaker's outfit is very modest.
  • Motherly Side Plait: Sports a large braided one.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: She doesn't try to steal her daughter's spotlight, but her motherly charisma is so infectious that Pekora often has to remind her fans whose channel it is.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: Pekomama leans into the Japanese housewife imagery to a T, from her soft-spoken demeanor to wearing the stereotypical homemaker's dress and apron and debuting with a kitchen backdrop.
