Bilingual, playful and teasing, and always pushing the envelope for what is socially acceptable on-stream, Coco is one of the most internationally renowned talents, if not the most renowned, in Hololive. She has built her fame on her outgoing personality, her penchant for profanity, and her sense of humor that often pushes the boundaries of what's acceptable on the platform.

In mid-2021, Coco Kiryu officially graduated from Hololive, holding a farewell stream on July 1.

Associated characters: Coco Kaine ("Sister" from the hood) [JP: ココ・カイン]
    open/close all folders
    #-O
  • #1 Dime: Her beloved treasure is a worn-out PPTenshi T-shirt (often comically referred to as one of the lamest pieces of Hololive merch), one that's been signed by everyone who came to the Holohouse to check up on her during her hard times. Of course, it probably doesn't qualify as worthless anymore now that it carries autographs from over a dozen idols, but it definitely still looks... less than impressive.
Coco: LOOK AT THIS FUCKED-UP PIECE OF FABRIC!
  • Acronym Confusion: On Hololive's official talent listing page, Coco's name has an "OG" designation next to it. Some guessed it either stood for "Officially Graduated" or "Old Girl" (often used in Japanese schools to denote female alumni), but most like to think it stands for "Original Gangster", especially since Coco fits both the figurative/slang definition (she was an absolute trailblazer, constantly pushing the limits and inspiring untold numbers of people) and the literal definition (as part of the Yakuza, she is quite literally a gangster).
  • Actually Pretty Funny:
    • Most of the memes she reviews tends to make fun of her or her coworkers, but Coco can usually see the humor in it.
Coco: I'm seen as a witch! A witch! Kiryu Coco is seen as a witch! It is entertaining though [laughs]. Let's watch it one more time.
    • Poorly-translated Japanese, including "Japanglish" and the deliberately butchered kind, serves as a comedic way to set her off in her shitpost reviews. Though, despite the exasperated reactions, she at times clarifies that she actually loved those type of memes, else they wouldn't be featured in her streams to begin with. By the time her final Reddit Shitpost Review was coming to a close, she shared her favorite meme throughout the series: the "quantum chicken soup grass big chungus" meme that started it all.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: In hololive Alternative teaser PV 1, her dragon form is orange instead of purple. The change caused enough confusion that Fubuki, after checking with management, and Coco both confirmed that the dragon wasn't her until the staff told Coco that it was.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Coco-chi, used by Watame. A combination of her name and "-chi", a deliberate mispronunciation of the "-chan" honorific.
  • Ambiguously Gay: Her close relationship with Kanata has been compared to a marriage by many fans (and even Kanata herself, who considers the two of them to be Like an Old Married Couple).
  • The Anti-Nihilist: When a fan asks for her advice for feelings of worthlessness, Coco's response is that everyone is worthless, so just live your life without worrying about "being someone."
  • Art Shift: Coco's dragon form is almost always portrayed as a cartoonish 2D dragon, even in one of the 3D anime shorts "Take Over the Animal Kingdom".
  • Ass Shove: Straight from the horse's mouth, the tail we see her walking around with is a prop that is plugged into her butt. The plug-in type AsaCoco also works this way.
  • Berserk Button: Bad Japanese translations, although it's always Played for Laughs. During her Reddit review streams she takes the time to translate the primarily English posts into Japanese for the benefit of her Japanese audience (so they can understand overseas jokes), sometimes finding a post that has machine-translated Japanese in an attempt to communicate the joke in both languages; she has requested that people not do that due to the possibility of misunderstanding. Much to her ire, her fans then decided to go out of their way to mangle Japanese as much as possible just to annoy her. In fact she's become conditioned to expect bad Japanese that the one time she finds a correctly structured Japanese sentence during her meme review with Moona, she still gets pissed off.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: She gave the go ahead to make YAGOO lewds during the Reddit Meme Review episode featuring Fubuki. Come the September 21st, 2020 episode of AsaCoco the daily meme featured was a hand-drawn, waist-up YAGOO lewd. She immediately expresses her regret stating she didn't think anyone would actually take her up on her words.
  • Biting-the-Hand Humor: Her room has a punching bag with a photo of YAGOO's face on it. She also dedicated a Minecraft collab stream with Haato to blowing up a pixel art statue of YAGOO, as well as making occasional reference to the "YAGOO's dream is dead" joke.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: She encourages the other girls to borrow her [clap clap] "Next meme!" catchphrase. And her "motherfucker" catchphrase.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Despite Coco's content constantly pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable not just by hololive talent but also Youtube content guidelines, she is considered by many of the other talents to be one of the most forward-thinking and downright intelligent members they had. Aside from the marketing of the Asacoco line of products being an incredibly humorous way to get her audience to donate (every "product" she lists has an associated cost, usually no more than 2000JPY/20.00USD that her fans will then pretend to purchase with Superchat messages), she also was the catalyst for the creation of the EN branch and many of the talent becoming active on reddit due to proving her own popularity with the overseas audience. She also had a hand in screening the initial audition submissions for Hololive EN, and all the members of that branch attribute her directly for their own success.
  • Call-Back: In the October 19th, 2020 episode of AsaCoco, Coco debuts a new spinoff product of AsaCoco, the AsaCoco Mist, a humidifier themed after Fubuki which Fubuki herself gifted to Coco during her birthday stream months prior.
  • Casual Sports Jersey: According to Kanata, Coco has a very Limited Wardrobe consisting of mostly Adidas tracksuits that she wears almost all the time and is rather passionate about her fondness for this brand herself. Being roommates, it didn't take long before Coco managed to rope Kanata into wearing Adidas with her.
  • Character Catchphrase: Coco has two.
    • The first one is... all together now...:
      Coco: Good morning, motherfuckers!
    • Her other catchphrase is from Meme Reviews, where she claps twice and calls for the next meme. She even encourages her guest to say it with her:
      Coco: [clap clap] Next meme!
  • Chair Reveal: Pulled one of these in her 3D debut stream when revealing her yakuza office. A behind the scenes video showed that it was harder than it looks as Coco wasn't actually sitting in a rotating chair; unseen staff members had to pick up her feet and her chair and squat walk sideways to achieve the same effect.
  • Cleavage Window: Her default outfit has one, though it's buttoned up in her 3D model.
  • Cool Big Sis:
  • The Corrupter: Her potty-mouth and generally un-idol like behavior sometimes rubs off on the others when they stream together. This is most visible with her Reddit Meme Reviews, where she gleefully encourages her guest stars to say "motherfucker" on stream — She's proudly declared Watame corrupted when it happened, and makes jokes at YAGOO's expense when she's gotten Sora and Azki (the two most idol-like talents) to say it.
Coco: Okay, so she [Fubuki] learned how to say motherfucker and that's everything I wanted.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Implied by her character design. Her debut stream explains that the yellow part of her left horn is actually scratch marks from the numerous times she accidentally bumped her horns into random objects as she wasn't used to her human body yet. That said, she's incredibly athletic and her dancing skills are extremely well trained.
  • Cute Little Fangs: She seems to have a pair of these, judging by the small bumps that stick out from her upper lip whenever she speaks.
  • Daddy's Girl: Coco frequently tells stories about "Papa Dragon", and it’s clear the two are close. He’s even joined in the fun, occasionally writing letters in-character that have been given to Coco on-stream. The first of such, sent to her right after her debut, gushes about how proud he is of Coco for making her way in the world, how supportive he is of her career choice, and how even though there will always be haters, Coco should never let them get to her and remain proud of her accomplishments. This sends her into a small crying fit. Also, yes, her father is depicted with a "pixelated for privacy" picture of Shenron. Amusingly, that last point of the letter becomes rather funny when Coco talks about how she has caught Papa Dragon ending up in flame wars with her haters on Twitter.
  • D-Cup Distress: While she doesn't feel this way now, she told a story of her getting used to her human form where an opening door "hit her nipple for massive damage". Said story has become synonymous with the trope among Hololive fans.
  • Demoted to Extra: But not in a negative way. Due to the nature of her graduation, Coco was not Unpersoned and in fact remains a part of Hololive's canon (her profile on the official Hololive website lists her as an "OG", instead of being scrubbed altogether), just not in the capacity she was in before. Like the case of Mano Aloe, the other members are not restricted from bringing her up in conversations, and she still lives with Kanata, so her fans can still check up on her in a way. Furthermore, it's been alluded to that Coco will be allowed to appear as a guest character on occasion. As well, Haachama has continued to use Gangimari Dragon, which is made up of various voice clips from Coco, as the intro song for the Shitposting Reviews after having taken over hosting duties from Coco.
  • Dragon Lady: Aside from being a literal dragon, Coco's character as being a Yakuza clan leader and one of the most overtly sexual members of the group gives off this sort of attitude. This is exemplified in her New Year 2021 outfit, which is a Yakuza-styled kimono.
  • The Dreaded: Coco has become this to Calli in their collabs, using her privileges as senpai to tease the poor reaper constantly.
  • Embarrassing Pyjamas: Her last outfit reveal is a set of full body pajamas that look like a cartoony version of her dragon form. Humorously, she's initially not embarrassed by them until her chat started pointing out that she looks like Barney.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Despite all her comments throwing roasts with just about everyone she can, and occasionally tricking them into saying fairly dirty things, she is protective of her fellow idols, something she'll make known should she feel the need for it:
      • While she's willing to take thing about herself and others in stride, a few jokes cross the line for her, such as one meme about Rushia that ended with "That's not your girl, that's a chopping board!", which got an angry reaction from her. Later streams revealed that it's a matter she regards as a Taboo, uncharacteristically shying away from really going into such memes. She won't stop her guests from doing so, but even then she tries to make it clear it's not her idea. Most of the time it's Played for Laughs as her reaction to any memes involving Rushia tend to be "fear for my own life" before quickly moving on.
      • Downplayed when she specifically chose numerous memes based around the pettan joke for her meme review with Rushia, even specifically choosing several that favourably compared her boobs to Rushia's, then feigning ignorance when Rushia realizes what the joke is about. She has featured at least one such meme in every meme review since, and eventually averted when she outright admitted that she loves Rushia pettan jokes during her shitpost review with Luna.
    • While she isn't above teaching other girls, especially Miko and Kanata, how to swear in English, she does not want Kanata to say perverted comments in English such as "I am horny" or its variants. Marine also opposes her saying it as well. They eventually started doing it anyway.
    • In her explanation as to AsaCoco hasn't been happening in a while, she explains that despite the show crossing the line in humor and frequenting roasts of just about anyone, it's ultimately a show meant to bring smiles, and as hololive has been going through some tough times, she's felt now hasn't been the right time to do it.
    • When Pekora gives Coco her ears for her birthday stream, the latter is hesitant on displaying the image, asking the former to get her manager's approval first to be sure.
    • Despite every Asacoco commercial pushing it as some kind of comedic ultra-addictive drug, the one for "stimulant-type Asacoco" (read: actual crack) quickly aborts itself and gets replaced with a Drugs Are Bad message.
    • Coco has a habit of getting her fellow vtubers to say "Motherfucker" when she collabs with them during her Reddit meme reviews. But when Sora says it without any prompting from her, she tells her to not say that word again (though she does tell her to repeat it once after the first time).
  • Fangirl:
    • For Kazuma Kiryuu, appropriately enough. She squees when she first sees him in her Yakuza: Like a Dragon playthrough and calls the player character, Ichiban, a "dumbass" for not knowing who he is despite being a yakuza himself. Her love of the Like a Dragon series is so strong that she makes several blatant shout-outs to the series in her 3D debut stream, like showcasing a modified Tojo Clan emblem with her name on it, a good chunk of the 3D debut stream takes place in a facsimile of the Tojo Clan's office, and she gets the series' distinctive Boss Subtitles character intro screen at one point.
    • There are signs that she's been a long-time fan of Aki's, with bits in earlier meme reviews prompting some remarks and, during the episode with Aki herself, she could barely contain her excitement and squeeing whenever Aki says "Good boy". From there, a number of collabs with her (including one where Aki gave Coco belly dancing lessons) followed as well as a stay at the HoloHouse where Aki got to sleep in Coco's $9000 bed and showered together.
  • Fantastic Drug: AsaCoco commercials present the show itself as some sort of illicit substance. Viewers are spoiled for choice of how to imbibe it: orally, through tablets or dissolved in liquid; injecting it into their veins via syringe; through an IV bag; or controlled-release gadget that happens to be shaped like her dragon tail and is inserted anally. (The last one comes with its own lubrication, to relieve discomfort.)
  • Fantasy Counterpart Culture: According to Coco, her home country back in the dragon world is "the United States of Dragon America".
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Despite Coco's irreverent attitude, she is the responsible one; she's talked before about her younger sister being a Hard-Drinking Party Girl who would frequently show up at Coco's place while she was living alone smelling of alcohol, tobacco and sweat. During her appearance on Kiara's Holotalk, Coco went into more detail about her sister, Coco Kaine, revealing that she's actually a founding member of "Hololive USA" (not Hololive EN), and lives on the streets because she practices The Oldest Profession and generally doesn't respect her family.
  • Funny Foreigner: Coco plays her American heritage up for all the comedy she can, skimming Reddit constantly, teaching western internet slang as an academic subject, saying increasingly insane things in English, being a Shakira fangirl, going against the expected behaviour of Japanese idols to the point of skirting a Youtube ban, and admitting when Koefficient pointed it out that her powerful hips could only be American beef.
  • The Gadfly:
    • Due to being bilingual and the majority of Hololive Japan having a command of English that can range from "somewhat serviceable" to "garbled nonsense", she will try to teach her fellow members English... usually by way of blatant vulgarity that they don't understand or by completely misunderstanding what they are trying to say. Getting the childlike Luna to do English phrase lessons on Asacoco is an example of the former, while working with Miko as she roleplays a tourist looking for the Statue of Liberty is one for the latter.
    • She will also do the same with her English viewers, teaching them incredibly rude Japanese in her "Japanese For Real" miniseries, but has enough sense to provide a literal translation of the phrase she's trying to communicate.
  • Get Out!: After returning from a 3 week hiatus in late 2020, one of her endslides has been reworked to contain this message directed at anyone who has a negative impression of her or dislikes her content, accompanied by a cute picture of Coco in pajamas made to look like her dragon form.
Don't forget to subscribe if you loved it! If you hated it... FUCK U and never come back
  • A God Am I: When discussing how she was not going to become an unperson because she would be graduating on her own terms, Coco declared herself as one.
Coco: I will become a normal graduate... and god. Actually, I became the top of this small world, but this world was too small for me.
  • Grammar Nazi: She becomes upset when viewers deliberately make use of mangled Japanese.
  • Gratuitous Foreign Language: As those who watched her debut stream and Coco herself can attest to, her Japanese was not very good when she was first introduced, and she admitted she had difficulty reading kanji to the point she only pretended to read it. That said, she has greatly improved since then, having no problem communicating with her peers beyond her accent sometimes necessitating a repeat.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Coco for a long time only did singing streams when she's absolutely hammered and nearly always would sing in English. Her pronunciation sometimes degrades over the course of the stream as she drinks more.
  • Hartman Hips: Her design evokes this, with her narrow shoulders, large bust, incredibly tiny waist, and huge hips that give her an Impossible Hourglass Figure. Becomes even more noticeable when she appears as her 3D model.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: She is well known for savagely roasting her peers, her seniors, her company, her president and anything else she feels like, but when inviting her fellow hololive members to play ARK: Survival Evolved she goes out of her way to help and guide them through the first steps of the game, though after that they are on their own. Coco also looks out for her fellow members who are feeling down or in trouble, as shown when she has a heart-to-heart talk mid-stream with Aqua.
  • Hiding Behind the Language Barrier: While she's fluent in English, she chooses to present AsaCoco in Japanese partly to avoid demonetization, since Youtube is primarily monitoring English speakers.
  • Humanity Ensues: As noted in her backstory, she is a dragon who has taken on a human form to join hololive.
  • Hypocritical Humor: One superchat stream she mentions getting told off by higher ups about covering a news story about Projekt Melody note  in a prior AsaCoco stream, advising her not to mention her at all. Coco seems to comply with their request ...up until she responds to another superchat shortly afterwards.
Coco: "Can I get a Kiryu Coco feet compilation?" What the fuck is a feet compilation? The only compilation I know from XVideos is a creampie compilation!
  • Insane Troll Logic: She thinks that panties are inherently lewd, therefore Going Commando is the appropriate choice.
  • Irony:
    • Despite being in an Idol Singer group, she has refused to sing more than once, and most of her singing is done in unarchived English-song-only streams where she's drunk. That said, she has sung a few songs, though she remains convinced that her voice isn't any good. Her entire image is also built on how she doesn't act like an idol at all. Her dancing however is a different story, being considered by many to be highly skilled (she claims to have learned from watching tons of Shakira and demanded her own 3D model be able to imitate Shakira's style). She finally did a proper Japanese singing only stream after reaching 600,000 YouTube subscribers.
    • Despite being the figurative "tip of the spear" and driving force behind Cover's decision to expand into the English-speaking market with an English branch and their inagural generation, HoloMyth, even going as far as to star in a commercial advertising the opening of auditions for said branch, Coco was not only not allowed to collab with any members of the branch which effectively owe their existence to her advocacy, but if one were to combine her response to a viewer's question about a lack of collabs or even communications between her and Myth, in which she noted that her and/or her manager's collab requests to HoloMyth members were met with silence by the various managers of the latter group, with Calliope, during a chatting stream in early 2021, mentioning the hardships that Hololive's inaugural English branch had to go through during its first few months due to not having a JP branch senpai to talk to and help them navigate around the language barrier that existed between Myth and the JP membersnote , there was an indication that a full-on interaction ban existed between Coco and HoloMyth as a result of the Taiwan incident which occurred just shy of 2 weeks after Myth's debut. These bans would seemingly be lifted in late May of 2021 with Coco's meme review having Calliope on as a guest, but this came approximately 3 months after Coco put in her request to graduate, and only a few weeks before her decision to do so was officially announced to the public.
  • Karma Houdini: Somehow manages to avoid getting imprisoned by Subaru during the "OOZORA Police" stream by a performing a series of mental gymnastics to push the blame off of her; first to the search engine, then to the JP fans, and finally to Okayu, who gleefully embraced "Okazu". The jury eventually decides that Okayu is the guilty party and lets Coco get away scot-free.
  • Large Ham: Fubuki and Matsuri's first impression of her was that Coco was huge in every sense of the word; tall, busty, loud and very much an entertainer the likes of which the VTuber and idol industries hardly ever see. Even Aki was misled by the introductory video into thinking Coco would be a cute girl, only to find out she's a "F-bomb dropping, gunslinging dragon".
  • The Last Dance: Coco's increasing spate of collabs, including collabs with HoloMyth, both before and after her announcement on June 9, 2021 that she would graduate appear to have the goal of making the time she has left before her graduation date of July 1 be as fun and memorable for herself, her fellow Holomembers, and her fans as possible.
  • Lazy Alias: For a brief period of time after Coco's graduation, Kanata and Suisei have, on separate occasions, referred to her with the letter C ("Friend C" and "C-shi", respectively). This was dropped for the most part when the rest of hololive continued calling Coco by her name or "Kaichou" as usual, but it appears on occasion.
  • Messianic Archetype: It's been a meme on 4chan to describe her as "Vtuber Jesus", especially with how she made it so that "graduation" no longer was character death, but a positive celebration, and that she will return in 500 years. The Messiah behaviour also fits: ask Watame, Aqua, Marine and Haachama on how she goes her way to help everyone in any way she can.
  • Ms. Fanservice: One of the bustiest, tallest, and most raunchy members of Hololive, all at once. By Hololive standards, Coco certainly qualifies.
  • Non-Mammal Mammaries: Her dragon form in the full version of hololive Alternative teaser PV 1 has a noticeable bust, making it one of the visual cues that help identify the dragon as Coco aside from her distinctive horns and tail.
  • The Noseless: Coco's Live2D model does have a nose, but it's so small, even by art style standards, that it's easy to think that she doesn't have one. Her higher-quality 3D models avert this, and during reveal streams fans jokingly get hyped over her "nose reveal". She eventually got a model update that finally outlines her nose and also gives her a wider range of movement so that she can show it in a better side profile, but it's still somewhat hard to see.
  • Not What I Signed Up For: Coco had originally applied to hololive as support staff, similar to the role that A-Chan currently has. When the 4th generation was starting auditions, she was asked if she wanted to try out for a role in it, since she had a background in content creation (one of the prerequisites for auditioning at all after the first generation.)
  • One-Winged Angel: The one time her draconic form is not portrayed cartoonishly is in the teaser for Hololive Alternative, where she is portrayed as a powerful dragon capable of being an even match for Shion, Noel, and Flare.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: She breaks character and briefly cries during a stream when a timely superchat recognizes the hard work she puts into her channel despite all the risky ban-worthy things she's done.

    P-W
  • Passing the Torch:
    • In the leadup to her graduation, she passed on Reddit meme review duties. Originally it was believed to be Kanata, but later the recipient turned out to be Haato. It's also been joked that Kanata inherited her business group AND fanbase.
    • She passes on her secret Asacoco formula to Amelia Watson. Amelia would then go on to debut "Ame in the A.M.", a invokedSpiritual Successor to the AsaCoco news shorts. While that didn't pan out, Mel, Mio, and a few others have started their own morning streams.
    • It's not quite known how much of Coco's input was involved, but Aki has announced not only taking over managing the Hololive ARK server, but making her own server for fans like Coco did.
  • The Pollyanna: One of her free talk streams has her talk about her time as a foreign student in Japan, having no choice but to live in a run-down three-story apartment with extremely noisy (and possibly extremely dangerous) neighbors, since she had little money at the time and the places she could afford turned her down on the grounds of her being a foreigner. She ended up leaving the place after a month since the apartment's management and local law enforcement did nothing to help, with debt collectors adding to the noise (and finally making her fear for her life) being the last straw for her. She talks about all of this in a blasé tone as if it was no big deal.
  • Pseudo-Romantic Friendship: As detailed in Kanata's folder, she's got this sort of dynamic with her. They have outright slept in the same bed together on several occasions and have "friendship" rings.
  • Punny Name: Kiryu's sister, Coco Kaine (Cocaine, geddit?) She's a Black Sheep of the family and actively lives on the streets while practicing The Oldest Profession.
  • Rags to Riches: It took her longer than the rest of the 4th generation to get monetization available on her channel, forcing her to subsist on her meager salary provided by Cover Corp for quite a while. In fact, Watame had to provide lunch money for her and Kanata before both were monetized. Within a matter of month, though, her popularity led her to become the highest earner of Superchats in the world, a title she wears with pride, and has since moved out to a spacious apartment in a new complex with Kanata and purchased a bed worth roughly $9000.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She's about 3500 years old. While this makes her the oldest character in hololive Japan, she's still considered young for a dragon.
  • Refuge in Audacity:
  • Resignations Not Accepted: In her 3D debut stream, she declares that she'll quit being a yakuza to focus on idol work. Moments later, she gets stabbed in the gut from behind by one of her lackeys she was dancing with earlier in the stream.
  • Sarashi: Her New Years outfit leaves the left side of her chest exposed to show that she's wearing one.
  • Self-Deprecation: Coco regularly makes fun of herself whenever she feels like it, but in the AsaCoco segment detailing how she turned down Sora's invitation for a singing collab, she both makes fun of her own voice (to quote, "I sound like Mickey Mouse on drugs") and genuinely thinks she will ruin their collab. For the record, her singing is nowhere near as horrible as she thinks it is.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: She has no problem talking about her more private parts, going as far as to have hair removal streams (with a diagram), and isn't really concerned about her model's underwear showing when performing certain movements (which she has gotten a few comments about by fellow idols and staff about.)
  • Show Within a Show: She runs a faux news segment called AsaCoco ("Morning Coco") whose episodes usually consist of her playing the role of a Coco-praising reporter who totally isn't Coco herself and/or ribbing on her fellow hololive members.
  • Significant Birth Date: She shares her birthday (June 17) with Kazuma Kiryu.
  • Sir Swearsalot: She has a pretty dirty potty mouth on her, and tends to drop F-Bombs every now and then. In fact, she uses this as a reason as to why there'll never be an English version of her News Show.
  • Stable Time Loop: In her Reddit Meme Review with Amelia, it was revealed that her entire Hololive career started because she was sniped down by a time-travelling Amelia Watson, following orders from Yagoo, which caused her to crash into Hololive's headquarters and being forced to Work Off the Debt. And while she worked at Hololive, she was instrumental in the conception and creation of HoloEN, which was what caused Amelia Watson to get hired in the first place.
  • Statuesque Stunner: At 180 cm (about 5'11") tall, she's significantly taller than the rest of hololive, the next tallest being Nerissa, at 175 cm*, and the next tallest in JP being Botan at 166 cm.
  • Technologically Blind Elders: Not Coco herself, but her real dad. Before she moved out of her house, she recalled that he was embarrassingly awful at maintaining his privacy on Twitter, using his real name on his first account and posting a lot of pictures that give away their location. This, combined with his penchant for starting flame wars on politics-related comment threads, concerned Coco enough that she repeatedly attempted to delete his Twitter account, but somehow found him back on Twitter again after every attempt, apparently being just tech-savvy enough to know how to make new accounts.
  • Troll: It's no secret she enjoys messing with people. In her first collaboration stream with Polka, she deliberately spoke in English which confuses her. And she keeps mixing up her English with her Japanese to confuse the hell out of the poor girl every time she dies.
Coco: [in English] Are you dead?
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Has mentioned that she would like to gain the respect of her father, who looks down on YouTubers and believes that Coco doesn't have any fans.
  • Weredragon: She has been shown to be able to change form freely from a human to a dragon and vice versa in a variety of different media. These include her streams (origin story MV), Holo no Graffiti, and hololive Alternative.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: Coco's accent has been described as a combination of "drunk Mickey Mouse and Kermit the Frog". She has a strong Southern drawl which bleeds into her Japanese as well. Towa and Roboco both pointed out that it's hard to do impressions of her, and the only member who can reliably pull off a Coco impersonation is, perhaps unsurprisingly, Kanata. Conversely, Coco's accent makes it hard for her to impersonate others, as seen here when she tries to imitate Subaru. In addition, her true voice is very different than her usual goofy tone for Coco, which can be very jarring on the rare occasions she drops it and speaks normally.
  • Work Off the Debt: The animation Coco made for her debut shows that she works for hololive because she crash-landed into their building and put YAGOO in the hospital.
  • Workaholic: She's recognized by her peers as an extremely hard worker. Kanata mentioned in one stream that she barely sees Coco sleep as the latter is often busy brainstorming new content.
