holoX

    La+ Darknesss
The leader of holoX. La+'s goal is to conquer the world, but she's having trouble coming up with a plan of action.
  • And Then What?: She wants to rule the world, but even she has no idea what to do next if she (somehow) succeeds. The other girls know this, and mostly just mess around for the most part because of it.
  • Butt-Monkey: She's supposed to be the leader, but she tends to be at the receiving end of slapstick.
  • Harmless Villain: To the point where just about the only thing villainous about her is her ultimate goal and even then that mostly entails "becoming incredibly famous".
  • Height Angst: Because of her short stature, La+ gets angry when three kids make fun of her height in chapter 5.
  • NEET: She is introduced by playing video games in her room, with her table covered in junk food. It's also outright stated that she hired Lui more for her domestic skills rather than anything she could contribute to the group's actual goal.
  • Phrase Catcher: "YMD", meaning "Yes, My Dark".
  • Sore Loser: She loses at a game in her introductory episode, and explodes into a rage that almost scares Chloe into leaving then and there.
  • Take Over the World: She forms holoX specifically to do this, and has Chloe join in. She's already hired Lui, Koyori, and Iroha to help her in her goals. Lui does explain later that not even La+ knows what that would entail, so she's just having fun with the other girls while they think about it.
    • She does seem to have a plan, however, by using the mass-production system HoloXer to make the HoloX girls famous. What happens after is an unknown, but she clearly has some plan.

    Chloe Sakamata
An orca girl who was scouted by La+ to join holoX.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Chloe is the Only Sane Man in the manga. In her own streams, she is anything but, being a wholesale pervert, ditz and gambling addict.
  • The Illegible: While writing La+'s Phrase Catcher, her handwriting is so bad that it can't even be called chicken scratch. Iroha and Koyori actually comment on it. And the best part? The actual Chloe actually wrote it specifically for the manga.
  • Iconic Item: Her orca mask makes its appearance in chapter 7, having been made by the rest of holoX as a gift to help soothe her nerves for a singing competition.
  • Irony: Orcas are the apex predators of the sea, but Chloe hates fishing (or going to the ocean in general, really). The irony isn't lost on the other girls.
  • Nice Girl:
    • Her introductory chapter shows her giving a little girl a bag of chips.
    • The reason why La+ decides to recruit her. Crow accidentally fell off of La+'s head, and she took care of him.
  • Only Sane Man: Her leader is a NEET who wants to take over the world, her XO is a ditzy salarywoman who does all the work, and the R&D department solely consists of a perverted coyote Mad Scientist. Chloe, in contrast, is just a fairly normal girl who only joined holoX because they had a job opening and she needed the money. The only other person who isn't as weird as the others is Iroha.
  • Supporting Protagonist: She is the focus main character in the manga after meeting up with La+, who invites her to holoX. The rest of the manga is shown in her point of view.
  • Supreme Chef: Not on Lui's level, but she does know how to fry a tonkatsu (fried pork).

    Lui Takane
The executive officer of holoX, a motherly, if rather scatter rained hawk-woman who is fiercely loyal to La+.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Lui tends to be the Only Sane Man when she streams with her genmates. In the manga, she's as silly as the other girls (bar Chloe, who actually fills the role of the Only Sane Man).
  • Beleaguered Assistant: Is this to La+, seeing as she's the one who has to handle all the logistics while her boss lounges around in her apartment, eating snack food and playing video games.
  • Bird People: She is a pink humanoid hawk girl whose wings are on her head with her hair.
  • Hyper-Awareness: Being a hawk girl, she can see her targets which is indicated with her eyes changing color.
  • Death Glare: Introduces herself this way in chapter 2 from La+'s apartment.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: She's basically the leader of holoX, coming up with ideas and keeping things orderly while La+ mostly just lazes around and plays video games.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Has a very curvaceous figure, with broad hips and slim legs.
  • Supreme Chef: La+ hires her for her domestic skills, and she certainly delivers in the cooking department.

    Koyori Hakui
A perky, often perverted coyote who serves as the head of holoX's R&D department (as well as its only member).
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Despite her mischief and eccentricities, Koyori is smart enough to create a machine that can notice even the smallest physical details of a person (Granted, she didn't need to add the self-destruction system), and her "tests" to La+ and Lui were made in part so they could have fun in their own way (and partially for her own amusement).
  • Covert Pervert: Her La+ robot ends up fondling Chloe, to her obvious discomfort. Apparently she designed it that way. She also gives the other girls swimsuits to wear for their fishing trip in Chapter 6 entirely so she has an excuse ogle Lui and Chloe's figures.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She was seen constructing a La+ robot in chapter 2, and completes it in chapter 3. Chloe is less than pleased when she finds out what it does.
  • Pink Is Feminine: Her hair is a soft pink, and her outfit has similarly-pink accents.
  • Little Bit Beastly: She's a pink coyote, so that's expected.

    Iroha Kazama
A quiet, dutiful samurai who acts as holoX's bodyguard.
  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Minus the hair color, Chloe saw Iroha as this when she met her. She couldn't have been further from the truth.
  • Animal Companion: Is accompanied by a tanuki named Pokobee, who has been a friend of hers since she was a child.
  • Self-Duplication: She has the ability to clone herself with the help of Pokobee. She makes use of it in the singing competition in chapter 7.
  • Shrinking Violet: Her debut chapter shows she has no idea what to do with new people, and Chloe making friends so quickly with La+ threw her for a loop where she didn't know what to even talk with her.
  • Super-Strength: She can lift and reel fish twice her size, a skill she shows in chapter 6.
  • Super-Speed: Displays her speed on the track course, which prompts each track member to invite to their team.

Other

    Crow
A crow that sits on top of La+'s head.
  • Head Pet: Is almost always seen on La+'s head.

    Ganmo
Lui's frogmouth secretary.
  • Head Pet: Has two baby birds, Tsumine and Tsukure, perching on his head. He also occasionally acts as one to Lui, though he seems more happy to perch on the head of her cane instead.

    Kokoro-chan
Koyori's robot puppy.
  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: A coyote pup with pastel pink fur and bright blue eyes. Justified, since she's a robot.
  • Glowing Mechanical Eyes: With cameras included, which Koyori can check on the other members of Holo X.
  • Precious Puppy: Robot or otherwise, she's still a very cute and fluffy puppy that Koyori does on and considers her assistant.
  • Robot Dog: She's a robotic coyote pup that can do things like projecting holograms or summoning machines.

    Pokobee
Iroha's tanuki friend.
