Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

  • Domains: Hair Change, Undead, Teenagers, Immortals, Space, Captains
  • Heralds: The Off-Color Gems (Padparascha, the Rutile Twins, Rhodonite, and Fluorite), Dante and Martha Barriga (his parents).
  • High Priest: Juniper Lee
  • Followers: Isaac Sumdac, Lucien, Merlow
  • Allies: The Steven Universe Deities (except the Diamonds), Captain Gordon, Samus Aran, Rapunzel, Aladdin, Flynn Rider, The Gokaiger, Team Lightyear, Chewbacca, Star Fox, Amuro Ray, The Space Power Rangers, The Space Sheriffs, Wander
  • Friendly Rival: Jack Sparrow
  • Mentor: Han Solo
  • Enemies: Ridley, Black Manta, Risky Boots, The Zabis (except Minerva and Degwin), Char Aznable, Big Brother, Thanos, Haman Karn, Horde Prime, Darth Sidious
  • Uneasy Relationship: The Diamond Authority, Rose Quartz, Wolf O' Donnell
  • In the fantastic world of Steven Universe, Lars Barriga was a normal, if quite jerkass, teenager who got caught up often in Steven's many adventures. However, one day when Homeworld Gems took humans prisoner to be taken to Homeworld on the Diamond's orders Lars ended up being taken there even after all the other prisoners were freed when Steven took their place. Following an encounter with the "Off-Colors" a group of defective gems, he ended up having to defend them from Homeworld's elimination drones. He ended up dying after taking out the drones sent to shatter them, but Steven's tears resurrected him and gave him a set of powers such as slowed aging, a lack of needing to eat constantly as well as portal capabilities for his hair. After he let Steven go back home, he became Lars of the Stars, a more confident and nicer person who lead the Off-Colors in space adventures. While he later tried readjusting to a normal life after returning to Earth, he ultimately couldn't adjust properly and left for space once more to resume his adventures alongside his crew.
  • His ascension went quietly in the Pantheon, he mostly was informed of his new role as a God in it, which he accepted after having the whole process explained to him. In the Pantheon he mostly spends his time wandering around, usually in his spaceship with the Off-Color Gems accompanying him. His parents were also placed as his Heralds, initially the Court of Gods thought of also including Sadie among his heralds, but Lars declined that and said that while they were still friends, he ultimately moved on from Sadie and wants her to live her life quietly.
  • Was glad to encounter Steven in the Pantheon, he was distraught when he heard of Steven's growing issues and how he temporarily lost control of himself and somewhat guilty considering that he might've unintentionally played a part in said issues. For the rest of the ascended deities, Lars maintains a friendly relationship with two exceptions: Rose Quartz and the Diamond Authority. Though he's a bit unnerved by them given that they're all Diamonds who were once responsible for creating the machines that were hunting down the Off-Colors, he has grown more amicable to them after their genuine change of heart, though remains uneasy still. As for Rose, her entire story and all that it entailed made it quite a bit of work to get Lars to actually befriend her, especially given her role in the initial colonization of Earth, though her friendliness has ultimately rubbed off him well much better than the Diamonds did.
  • As a Space Pirate, he enjoys the company of other more heroic outlaws, especially Han Solo who challenged Lars to a space race with Lars and the Off-Colors piloting the Sun Incinerator (which he stole once again from Emerald) to compete against Solo's Millenium Falcon. Ultimately Solo won out but he was still impressed by Lars' skills in leadership, especially coming from someone who was less experienced than him. Han has offered to take him under his wing and teach him a few more tricks, both so that Lars can become better at spacefaring and also so he can better defend himself against threats.
  • As he died and was resurrected by the magical tears of Steven, he became friends with Eugene/Flynn Rider, who also similarly died and was brought to life by Rapunzel's tears who herself also became friends with Lars. The two like to laugh a bit about how similar their situations were, as both had done a Heroic Sacrifice with no guarantee of surviving and were instantly resurrected by their mourning friend. Flynn is a bit intrigued with the fact that Lars Came Back Strong as a result of Steven's tears, as he himself was resurrected without any changes.
  • As he's a space-fairer, he's encountered a bunch of nasty figures while out and exploring which all became enemies of him:
    • Emperor Palpatine, as the Sith's forces encountered Lars' Sun Incinerator when he took it out for some exploration and attacked him once they confirmed the identity of the captain. Lars loathes Sidious for his tyranny and megalomania as well as the evil actions he has committed throughout the years and the death and destruction he's caused, for now Sidious views Lars as beneath notice but remains on guard in the scenario that the Diamond Authority provide him with some help or resources.
    • As they've also caused untold destruction and death he has little appreciation for Char Aznable or the Zabi family (with only Mineva and Degwin being spared of the hatred for being far less evil than the rest). He particularly disliked to hear how selfishly Char acted in his many schemes and how he got many innocents killed in his tunnel-visioned quest for revenge, though Char was quick to dismiss this and justify himself which Lars took as a sign of Char being a lost cause and has refused talking to him ever again.
    • As he runs an illegal planet market, Frieza also earned contempt from Lars, not that the space emperor cares. Particularly for how similar his actions are to the ones the Diamond Authority took in the past. Frieza also views Lars as beneath notice like Sidious, but is a little amused to know that Lars opposes him. Frieza's relatives and other Dragon Ball evil deities followed suit, though Frieza remains as Lars' most hated foe out of them all.
    • As a spacefaring freelancer, he's had run-ins with Ridley, in their first encounter the sadistic Space Pirate disturbed Lars with the sheer extent of his depravity and cruelty when threatening him, luckily he was saved by Samus who herself became friends with Lars and became another deity that he admired after the fact, even if she didn't stick around to be a mentor for him like Han Solo.
    • As they're controlling overlords with a tendency to override free will or suppress it with heavy force, he also came to oppose Darkseid, Horde Prime and Big Brother. Especially because of how much he was reminded of Homeworld's own oppression that his Off-Color friends endured when the Diamonds were in power. That they're all irredeemably evil only made his hatred of them worse.
  • Is good friends with the Star Fox squadron, as their heroic nature and camaraderie rubbed off him and his crew well, the Star Fox team were pretty impressed by Lars' bravery and selfless act of fighting off Homeworld's forces to save the Off-Colors, as he was a normal human with no powers or any physical training when he did. Lars was thrilled to hear about their exploits and adventures. He likewise started out a somewhat amicable relationship with Star Wolf once he found out from Fox about Wolf's more noble traits, which prevented him from viewing Star Wolf in the same light as he did with Char Aznable.
  • As he's a legendary pilot and leader, he befriended Amuro Ray, the original pilot of the Gundams. Ray was perplexed by Lars' status as an undead and amplified human, especially given that he became that way after his death and resurrection by Steven. Ray has taught Lars some piloting skills so he could become a better fighter in all fronts, even helping Han Solo with his own lessons to Lars.
  • His status as an outlaw earned him a Friendly Rival in Jack Sparrow, who while not as scrupulous as Lars, is nonetheless a friendly person and generally amicable with others. They spend most of their time joking around and sharing their tales of adventures and fights they've gotten in, usually prompting them to have some contests to see who can outdo the other in various tasks. Another similar relationship was with Aladdin, who was similarly a sympathetic thief once yet ascended into royalty, even if he's still rather shifty and full of tricks to fool guards, this last skill made them friends as Lars learned a lot of ways to fool Homeworld Gem guards when he and the Off-Colors made their escape from Homeworld.
  • During one of his many trips through the Pantheon he encountered Wander. He got along well with the alien as he reminded him a lot of Steven with his optimism and niceness. Wander was happy to hear that Lars had outgrown his Jerkass tendencies and developed into a far better person than he was. Lars will ocasionally join Wander on his many travels across the Pantheon, usually when he feels like having a more relaxed day.
  • Many deities have noted to Lars that since he technically has the same powers as Lion he could potentially become very powerful one day and might not need gem weaponry or outside help anymore to fight. Though he's not all that interested yet in developing these powers, he's grown interested in knowing if Rose Quartz could potentially train him to develop the necessary skills to utilize them, wanting to prepare himself for a possible day of tragedy where he might need to fight all on his own.

Gabby Goat, God of Characters Taking a Long Time to Return

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gabby_goat550.jpg
His appearance in New Looney Tunes
  • Potential House: Character Changes
  • [tup]s: 1 (Crimson Shark)
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: His sweater
  • Alignment: True Neutral or Chaotic Neutral depending on his mood.
  • Portfolio: Long Bus Trip of 80 years, The Bus Came Back, Jerkass, Deadpan Snarker, Toon, Hair-Trigger Temper, Foil to Porky.
  • Domains: Goats, Toons, Bus Trips, Reappearances
  • Followers: Christian, Dick Gumshoe
  • Allies: The Warner Bros. Deities (especially Porky Pig and Foxy), Donald Duck, Michael Jordan, The Monstars, Eddie Valiant, Roger Rabbit, Mickey Mouse, Goofy Goof, Benson, Squidward, Betty Boop, Popeye, Felix the Cat
  • Rivals: Daffy Duck
  • Enemies: Judge Doom, Grogar, Screwy Squirrel.
  • Gabby Goat's creation came in 1937 when the executives of Warner Brothers decided that Porky Pig, their most recent breakout star, needed a sidekick to rub off his blandness and niceness, for that purpose Gabby Goat was made to serve as Porky's Foil and friend. However, Gabby's jerkass attitude made him unpopular with audiences and the character was shelved and replaced with his contemporary Daffy Duck, who proved a much more popular sidekick for Porky. However 80 years later, his character would finally return from obscurity to appear as a regular guest in New Looney Tunes.
  • After reviewing how he had disappeared from Looney Tunes media for 80 years, the Court of Gods approved of Gabby's entry into the Pantheon. Easily recognizable by his sweater, Gabby may ocassionally wear it colored yellow or red, mostly as a fashion choice he makes. Though still as cranky as he was in 1937, Gabby is much wiser, calmer and kinder than before after Porky had enough of his general way of being.
  • He gets well along with the rest of the Warner Bros Deities, with one exception: Daffy Duck, whom he finds annoying and hateful due to having been one of the main reasons for his long absence from the Looney Tunes franchise, outside of his unpopularity. Though only in a rivalry sense that Daffy hardly reciprocates, as the crazy duck would rather torment Gabby for the sake of his amusement than care about any rivalry, though some of Gabby's friendships have began to change that. He's also friends with Bugs Bunny, having befriended him when he was returned to the franchise in New Looney Tunes, as he did with Wile E Coyote.
  • He's also friends with the Monstars following their Heel–Face Turn. As he is with Michael Jordan. Originally he refuse to befriend the alien group for nearly enslaving him and his fellow toons he eventually came around after Porky and the other Looney Tunes convinced him of accepting the little guys as they had long changed their ways and even made sure that the mastermind behind their attempted enslavement was never heard of again.
  • As they helped save his and many other Toons' lives from being completely killed, Gabby greatly respects Eddie Valiant, Jessica and Roger Rabbit for being the main agents in stopping the plans of Judge Doom, who Gabby greatly hates for his intentions of destroying Toontown. Gabby has continuously watched out for any possibility of Doom reenacting his plans in the Pantheon, especially with the resources he has at hand.
  • Has made friends with the likes of Foxy and Felix over how the public at large has forgotten them. He really feels bad for Felix's case as he's the precursor to all other Toon mascots and characters and is really saddened to hear that he's fallen out of favor with the public in spite of his legendary status in the world of toons. For Foxy, he feels bad that since he was made as a Captain Ersatz of the ever famous Mickey Mouse and he never recovered from falling out of public interest.
  • Made enemies with Grogar, as the evil goat was already enemies with plenty of Toon deities, including Daffy Duck and gives goats a bad name. Gabby himself loathes how Grogar treats those who work for or with him and his plans of conquest and destruction. Other goats such as the Crazy Goat or Chirin are more of an annoyance and a pitiable being respectively.
  • Really hates Screwy Squirrel, as the rascally rodent is an extremely annoying deity and enjoys setting off Gabby's anger for his amusement. Gabby has had to make traps and tricks to keep the malicious prankster far and away from his Temple. Screwy has thought up of calling in Daffy to join him in tormenting Gabby from time to time, but Daffy refused as he himself will never think of teaming up with Screwy due to their rivalry.
  • Has made friends in deities who share a similar temper:
    • Squidward often puts up with his cheerier but annoying neighbor, Spongebob. Given the similarities of their dynamic to Gabby's own with Porky, the two have reached an understanding over it, usually snarking at fellow toons when they begin to get silly or try to involve them in silly activities that annoy them. Likewise, that Gabby recently became a massive Butt-Monkey has made the two become even closer friends due to their shared bad luck.
    • As he's also unlucky and temperamental, Donald Duck became friends with Gabby, which has prompted Daffy to take Gabby's disdain of him much more seriously. Donald feels bad about Gabby being nearly retired and forgotten by the public after being received negatively for his anger, as Donald has issues with people treating him badly and being rather unpopular compared to his more cheerful friends.
    • As he used to be put through the wringer by Mordecai and Rigby's shenanigans and often was driven mad by them (though more recently this no longer is the case), Benson also befriended Gabby, as he could understand the causes of anger issues and how this affected both negatively in both life and their careers. Benson also liked that recently Gabby's far less of a jerk following Porky standing up to him and making him analyze his own flaws.

Been thinking of utilizing the dividing certain subhouses in 2 parts since i think there is a point where alternative houses are borderline impossible.

So here is my proposal: Divide the profiles between A-M and N-Z. That way we don't have to differentiate by ranking because that would be way too confusing and probably clog the lower tier deities who tend to be much more frequent. (I haven't checked but i think most profiles tend to be Lesser God tier)

I could do a test drive with Gaming Genres

It sure is hard work going through source materials for the sake of your profiles, especially when your profile spans multiple days-long-in-terms-of-content games. Still, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Bakarasu, Divine Bird That Cries "Idiot" (Aesop)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bakarasu.jpg
  • Quasideity, Demigod when brainwashed
  • Symbol: His head
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Calling Out "Baka", Clever Crows, Funny Animal, Plucky Comic Relief, Speech-Impaired Animal, Twisting Boss's Messages
  • Domain(s): Crows, Calling "Idiot"
  • Allies: Boss, The Mazinger Z family (tangentially)
  • Enemies: The easily annoyed
  • Opposes: Brainwashers
  • Bakarasu the myna bird made his debut in Episode 69 of the original series, heckling his future "master" Boss while he and his buddies were cleaning up Boss Borot, and then spent a lot of time harassing the mecha and dodging its attempts to catch him. And in his time at the Photon Light Institute, where he went to escape Boss, he underwent some mischief, including setting off a false emergency alarm, prompting Mazinger Z to sortie when there was no need to. Except during his search, Kouji did indeed find a Robobeast (Goushios Beta 3) and briefly tusssled with it before it retreated. Much later, when that Robobeast arrived, he actually made significant contribution in the battle against it by warning the heroes (though with little success due to his last prank), and searching for the Robobeast (and getting Boss Borot tangled in the conflict). As an all but sapient animal, he was… certainly out of place for the genre.
    • He would later appear sporadically in the Great Mazinger series and rejoin Boss (who doesn't seem to remember him from last time) as a sort-of pet.
  • As for why he was chosen? Mere virtue of being a named character, since most instances of Idiot Crows are unnamed and exist solely for gags. And he's a surprisingly early example, too.
  • As part of his "duties", Bakarasu is tasked with searching for idiotic moments in the Pantheon, or someone who has done something really stupid, and call them out on it as he flies by. It's a "duty" he quite enjoys doing.
  • While only somewhat loyal to Kouji or any of his pals, Bakarasu may distract whatever foe they're fighting if he thinks he can get away with it. He certainly has the agility and the guts to harass kaiju-sized entities. But he's already been subject to Venus A's Photon Beam, so he's a bit more cautious.
  • Whatever you do, don't count on him to send a message (by mouth, at least); he'll just screw it up for kicks, as Tetsuya and Jun are aware of.
  • Despises brainwashing, having been subject to one scheme himself by Warbeast Bruton of the Mycenae Empire. On the other hand, it made him strong enough to peck through a chair, crash through two windows (one of them reinforced for withstanding underwater pressure, no less), carry a weighted ball meant to chain him down with his wing and fly around with it, still be able to move around even with two such balls, and breaking out of metal manacles clamping his beak. Or perhaps it just removed his inhibitions if it turns out he's actually capable of this normally, which is a disturbing thought in and of itself.
  • Is hopefully a lot more cautious in who to trust, ever since he was tricked by the enemy once to find out plans for the Great Mazinger.
  • Eventually encountered other crows in the Pantheon, such as Drinky Crow (whom Bakarasu sometimes heckles during his drunken mishaps), the Murkrow Flock (his more favorite companions, though he leaves whenever those in the "Mazinger family" end up being their targets for the week [unless it's Boss, in which case he's usually in for it]), and the Crow (whom he utterly despises for her genocidal agenda).

Boss, God of Giant Scrap Robot Pilots (Bobo, Bose Benson)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/MazingerZ_Boss_173.jpg
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: Boss Borot's head
  • Theme Song
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Portfolio: Piloting A Giant Scrap Robot, Acrofatic Gonk, Small Name, Big Ego, Big Damn Heroes, Spanner in the Works, Butt-Monkey, Regarded As A Joke My Most Everybody, Dumbass Has a Point, The Team Normal, Hopeless Suitor For Sayaka And Jun, Plucky Comic Relief, Adaptational Badass in the SRW timelines, "Da wa sa"
  • Domain(s): Robots, Scrap, Comic Relief
  • Heralds: Nuke and Mucha
  • High Priestess: Pollin
  • Followers: Dr. Kahl, Junkions
  • Allies: The Mazinger family, especially Kouji Kabuto, Bakarasu, Grimlock
  • Enemies: Any enemy of Kouji is an enemy of his.
  • Fears: All robot girls, those with Prehensile Hair
  • Boss started out as a bully in the school Kouji Kabuto was attending after he became Mazinger Z's pilot. They became rivals, especially over (in his eyes) Sayaka Yumi (though she had little patience for either at the time), and after a few fights, they became Fire-Forged Friends. From there, he and his pals Nuke and Mucha served as scouts, the occasional distraction against Iron Masks, and the usual slapstick mischief.
    • Eventually, as the battles went on, he decided he would join the fight and get his own mecha, even briefly abducting Professors Morimori, Sewashi, and Nossori of the Photoatomic Research Institute to help build it using scrap metal from the junkyard. The result is Boss Borot.
  • His creation, Boss Borot, is a scientific curiosity (well, more than most Super Robots). Sure, it can't have any of the awesome weapons most other Humongous Mecha are famous for, and it's comparatively fragile since it's quite literally made of scrap metal, but it still has the fluid-ish mobility of a Humongous Mecha despite lacking the advanced tech to Hand Wave its ability to function (the main control is even a steering wheel). It's also been known to have a detachable head, which usually lands him in odd and funny situations, but also sometimes saves him from getting wrecked with the rest of Boss Borot when it's sent flying.
    • And because it's made from scrap metal, it's much easier to repair, and with better materials available in the Pantheon to be tossed away, his mecha is now tougher than before, though still not to the level of other mechas.
  • As a delinquent/gang leader, Boss is no slouch in a straight up brawl, though he's certainly lacking in skill. And despite their stupid appearances, neither are Nuke and Mucha, who know how to strike pressure points and flick projectiles with precision respectively.
  • Ever since a certain crossing of dimensions, Boss has continued to hang out with Grimlock on occasion, whom they've met while searching for diamonds and briefly getting into a tussle when he tried to eat Boss Borot. They had tussled for a bit before a Cross Counter punch made the mech tumble over and spill its pilots, and Grimlock took interest in them. It's not known exactly what they talked about aside from the Autobot's need for energy and Boss offering to escort him to the Photonic Labs, but by it and the Autobots needed rescuing from Dr. Hell's Robobeasts, the two were there to save the day.
  • Is seemingly aware of his status as a Comic Relief character, so he knows he's very unlikely to die in a fight. When he actually bites it however, then he's worried about just how massive the stakes might be (i.e. usually world-ending).
  • Despises brainwashing, having been subject to it a few times, and once when Warbeast Bruton drove Bakarasu feral. And given his weak-ish mind (as much as he would say otherwise), it's definitely a concern.
  • Despite its bulk, Boss is skilled enough to have Boss Borot skate with surprising grace… as long as the ice holds, so his mech pirouetting is not recommended. Unless the ice is really thick enough, of course.
  • Is incapable of swimming, though if the situation calls for it, such as saving Kouji or Tetsuya, he won't hesitate to drive Boss Borot underwater. Don't ask about how he's breathing there.
  • Boss is always looking for ways to get Boss Borot flight-capable. Thankfully, the GUAG Robot War division is willing to help on that front, and he's not too proud to turn down outside aid, especially during the Super Robot Wars conflicts.
    • Speaking of those conflicts, there are those who wonder how he and his pals can breathe in outer space given Boss Borot's open cockpit. The simple answer? Space suits.
  • Besides his fists, Boss occasionally has a cane which actually sprays sleeping gas. He also has one for Boss Borot, which was potent enough to help destroy Warbeast Domez. He's since been approached a few times for the formula.
  • Ever since a trio of assassin android girls tried to do him in after mistaking him for Kouji (to be fair, he claimed to be the guy as an attempt to impress them), thus Taking the Bullet for the real one, Boss is deathly afraid of all such machines.
    • And given their use of it to take him out, this especially applies to deities with Prehensile Hair, whether they're robots or not.

@faso I'm iffy on the A-Z ranking. It was the way of arranging profiles way before and it was a mess. (I had to look through the history of older Pantheon houses to see). I'm satisfied with the current state, but one idea I can propose is making a Gaming Genres Part 2 house using Gaming Genres as a base.

Removing the ranking essentially makes the Overdeity-Quasideity addition on each profile useless, not to mention countless revisions on the database

  • Respects: Global Occult Coalition, The SCP Foundation (One-sided on her end)
  • Betty was once a girl named Amber, the daughter of the original Kindness and Integrity wizards, Integrity died, and we have no idea what happened with Kindness. Afterwards, both the Lightvales adopted her as a sibling, but Agate had a massive argument with Copper, leading to her attempt to kill him. Copper lost his determination when Agate murdered Amber in cold blood, in an attempt to get to Copper. It worked. She dragged Amber's body away to turn her into the last remnant of Fear forever. Amber's soul is gone, so she will never return to her original self, and Bete Noire is all that is left. Her soul was created by Agate's own soul emptying into nothingness and being filled with Fear before storing her creation inside of it. So while Betty may be Amber in body and memories (that Agate retained), her soul is entirely different. Her purpose is to Kill Em All, especially the Red Soul, and then get erased from existence with everyone else. When Betty and Akumu are later spawned into the world after the barrier goes down, they were both genuinely sweet and cheerful, looking to explore the world before the soul of Agate arrived and corrupted her now-terrified creation.
  • Ascended to the Pantheon after her Rasputinian Death and her corpse was possessed by HATE. She soon did some sneaking around and learned from these actions that she was in a place where people from many worlds exist together. Learning that there were many types of monsters in the Pantheon, she decided to continue her quest to kill them all.
  • Upon ascension, the Undertale deities, having not come from her universe, were confused on who she was...until Sans made a visit to the House of Time And Space and learned about the many atrocities she had committed. After witnessing these events, he warned the rest of the deities from his home universe of her desire to kill all monsters and what she is capable of, including Flowey.
  • Has brought in Akumu as her herald and is almost never seen without him. He will always be present when she is in combat and the two will sometimes fuse to battle foes. She is against those that can manipulate souls like Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn and The Maiden In Black as Akumu happens to be the manifestation of her own soul. She also doesn’t like Akuma due to his raging demon having the power to destroy souls.
  • Having carried HATE in her body ever since she stole a vial of it and being terrified of what it would do if given the chance, she is very concerned about the disturbing amount of Omnicidal Maniacs in the Pantheon, much less an entire organization of them. However, she loathes Chaos above the other omnicidal maniacs due to its disturbing similarities to HATE and dislikes the idea of it ever getting her in its clutches.
  • Good friends with Mina Loveberry and the two will sometimes work together in trying to accomplish their goals of destroying all monsters. Both of them enjoy the company due to their major lack of allies while Star Butterfly is just unhappy that there are two of them now.
  • Given her hatred of monsters, it was no surprise that she would loathe the mere existence of the House of Otherness for being filled with many different kinds of monsters, and aims to kill them all as part of her plan. She feels her plans have become more justified as the House holds many genuinely dangerous and malevolent monsters, but on the other hand plenty of them are stronger than her, so she needs to take caution and get stronger before she can properly slay them. The denizens of the House are not pleased to know about her plans, and are willing to strike back should she try to make her assault on them.
    • On the topic of hating monsters, she's really peeved at how some monsters are living side-by-side with humans, and so is quite angry at Luka and Kimihito Kurusu for their efforts in building bridged between humanity and monsterkind in their worlds. Plus, them being in romantic relationships with monsters just aggrevates her more, especially Luka once she learned that the monsters in his world have hunted down humans for nourishment and amusement. The two and their monster companions dislike her in turn.
  • Once ran afoul of a group of Hot Rods while hunting for human souls and the people she was targeting were transformed into Heartless instead. Enraged, she killed them all and later learned that this was an attempt by Maleficent to increase the numbers of her forces. She has vowed to destroy the witch because of these events.
  • Hates war, having found the possibility of one between humans and monsters absolutely repulsive and horrifying. Because of this, she is enemies with Khorne, who doesn’t think much of her. Betty also opposes both his Hounds of War as well as the House of War. The Forever War taking place in the Pantheon disgusts her as she fears the damage caused by the conflict will destroy everything.

[up] Her affinity to Fear would make her a source of interest for Sinestro as the Sinestro Corps tends to recruit those who inspire fear through others. That said, Sinestro's Corps does include monsters, which Betty wouldn't like. It should be noted that Sinestro is someone who does want to protect the universe through order, though his approach is militant and involves a lot of shady actions.

Speaking of monsters, Masato Kusaka saw his friends being killed by humanoid monsters known as the Orphnochs and swore to kill them off one day. He became a Kamen Rider specifically to target and render them extinct and outright refuses to believe that a single member of the Orphnochs can be good, even if he's proven wrong several times. It's bad enough that he's a vengeful brat whose excuse (while tragic) becomes more hollow overtime, but then he's an unrepentant asshole (and he's even worse in a non-canon novel adaptation of Kamen Rider 555).

@Venus: Baby Bonnie Hood is another evil monster-hunting human. Would Betty be allies with her, too?

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! Hope everyone is well today. I just wanted to stop by and make a suggestion for a character and trope option. Now this one might be seen as controversial and contains spoilers but here we go.

The Character? Abigail "Abby" Anderson. The Trope? Unintentionally Unsympathetic.

The reason for it? Abby is a divisive character. Early on, she's shown as an antagonistic force, arriving with her gang to attack and brutally murder Joel for revenge for her own father's death. Later in the game, she is shown to have realized her revenge wasn't worth it and went through Character Development that was supposed to make her more redeemable and was meant to counter Ellie's more tragic storyline... unfortunately, this "redemption" was viewed as hollow by many players, due to her continuing to commit notable atrocities, such as trying to kill a pregnant Dina. To quote the game's YMMV page;

"Abby's karma of losing her friends and pet dog to Ellie's Roaring Rampage of Revenge was seen by many instead as everyone but Abby suffering for it."

I don't think YMMV tropes count for the pantheon but I could be wrong

[up] some do but the ones that have the most problems are the Flame Bait ones like Mary Sue and Jerk Sue. This one should be fine.

[up][up][up] This... actually suits Abby.

Before "Controversy" gets slammed down, a reminder that we have ascended controversial character in the Pantheon, former or current (mostly the former) and we've ascended hated characters too. And while I do admit that I hate Abby just as much as most gamers do, we should be fair for once and judge the situation in a non-biased fashion.

That said, I'm abstaining on the choice for now. I am nervous about the character, but I don't Abby should be excluded just because "we don't like her", plus the situation that's been created gives me the impression that Video Games are the ultimate media platform and should be given top precedence. In reality, NO media platform is more important than the other.

Abstaining on Abby. The trope in question harbours some extremely repulsive charcters in question and Abby (gameplay aside) feels like a spite suggestion. I'd say that even 6 months (or even years aside), her game will become controversial especially on the character aspect. And I think I am sure many people will voice their disdain on that suggestion.

You are treading on hot water here. Take your pick
