Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Regardless of whether or not snafu's idea was approved or not, it doesn't change the fact that his sandbox is outdated, consists of ideas that are most likely not going to be realized, and never had any indication that he was going to work on Kasumi or any other idea he suggested in the forum.

@True Chaos: Simply saying "I want do to this idea" without providing sufficient reasoning isn't going to cut it, especially if it's another idea from a franchise that's rather contested when it comes to the number of reps it has (Kamen Rider in this case).

Very rough draft for Sean and Archer's rework.

Sean Archer is an FBI agent who lost his son to terrorist Castor Troy and has become bitter about it. Sean undergoes an experimental surgery that replaces his face, voice and appearance with that of Castor, only for the latter to do the same thing and interfere with his personal life, including that of the FBI. Sean-as-Castor then finds himself in Castor's life where he meets Castor's son, who reminds him of Sean's own deceased son, and after defeating Castor, adopts Castor's son to have a life away from crime.

Looking for suggestions for interactions.

  • Ever since his son was killed at the hands of freelance terrorist Castor Troy, FBI agent Sean Archer wants nothing more than to put an end to the madness Castor unleashes. With Castor captured and a bomb about to explode in Los Angeles, Sean agrees to a risky procedure that has him taking Castor’s face in order to find the bomb. Things get chaotic when Castor, waking up from a coma with his face torn off, demands the surgeons put Sean’s face on him. With Castor now in the role of Sean and vice versa, the two discover a lot about each other’s personal lives as they work their way to a violent rematch where things get much more personal than it previously had been. In the end, Castor is killed and the face transplant surgery is reversed, with Sean now returning to the home life he previously neglected and having adopted Castor’s son Adam as a means to keep the latter away from a life of crime.
  • Sean was more than aware that peace was never permanent and an urgent meeting with the FBI a few months after Castor’s defeat marked such an occasion. The meeting mentioned that not only has the technology to recreate someone’s face has gotten more advanced, but there were reports that Castor somehow survived and was planning revenge on Sean. When Sean asked who provided that information, he was told that the informant refused to reveal their true identity, but that they were involved with a much larger group that could provide Sean help and that the informant survived an encounter with Castor, who was aware of where the informant was from and what resources was accessible. While it meant that Sean’s family life was at risk once again, he promised that he’ll do what he can to keep them safe, especially if it meant making sure that Adam couldn’t be exposed to the newfound dangers Sean was about to face off against.

@r-lock526: I admit that I need to clean up my sandbox, seeing as how some of the files are either moved or no longer in the Pantheon. My job keeps me busy. When I get the time, I'll look it over.

  • Respected by/Respects:
  • Pitied by/Pities:
  • Opposed by/Opposes:
  • Conflicting Opinion:
  • Biodata is a rather difficult subject to explain. It covers the notion that information is the lifeblood of modern (and likely future) civilization, and can be stored in analog, digital, or organic form, on an organic or even biological matrix. A recurring theme in the Shin Megami Tensei series is the concept that everything ultimately boils down to data, and many of its imply or outright state all matter, energy and phenomenons in the universe boil down to data-like existence, which are often compared to information or human thought in nature. This is the main reason why spells, summoning, and other Reality Warper effects can be inserted into computers, and why the Demon Summoning Program even works. Digital Devil Saga takes this to a whole new level with the Atma Virus, which unlocks the demon data that exists in humans and gives them that form, the fact that Data travels back and forth between the Earth and Sun, which explains reincarnation, and the current crisis stems on that.
  • It all began for Serph and company (well, there are other bits, but they can be mentioned later) at a place called the Junkyard where they were in conflict with five other Tribes for as long as they can remember. And even everything changed when a mysterious giant egg landed in territory between the Embryon and the Vanguard Tribes. The two fought each other over thinking the other brought it here. And then the egg "hatched", and affected everyone in the Junkyard, giving everyone demon powers and a hunger for flesh in order to remain sane. Once the Embryons recovered, they saw the "egg" contained a black-haired girl named Sera. Later, Karma Temple decreed that all Tribes should eliminate one another and secure the black-haired girl (of which the descrition fit only Sera), with a path to Nirvana as a reward.
    • One by one, as the Embryon Tribe members struggled with the hunger and their newfound emotions, they took down each Tribe (well, there was one they temporarily allied to get rid of another, and that Tribe was all but wiped out). However, due to certain truths, Sera went on ahead without them while they were recovering, and tried to have the Karma Temple guards bar their progress despite their victory in accordance to the Temple's laws. That was because the Junkyard was a simulation all along, Sera is its creator, and all its inhabitants are AIs based on people she knew, and she was meeting with the Karma Temple's superior (Jenna) Angel to plead for the Junkyard to be spared. However, Angel had no patience and went through the deletion process anyway.
    • Fortunately, Serph and his crew reached the two even as the deletion was making its way up the very, very tall Karma Temple, and Angel decided to engage them in battle with an Atma Avatar of her own. While they prevailed, it was still too late to stop the deletion. Even as the party hotfooted it to the pillar of light where Angel entered in an attempt to escape the destruction (with Gale picking her up on the way, having been seeing her in flashbacks the entire time), it was almost too late for Serph, but in all the confusion everybody managed to make it out, but they were all separated...and brought to the real world (and for once, not in Tokyo, but somewhere in the USA or Australia since dollars are used as currency where Serph and company end up at instead of macca). And because new bodies were materialized for the Embyron Tribe surivors, naturally very little of their accumulated abilities are carried over from the simulated world.
    • And out there, things were way worse. Due to Sera's anguish on seeing murder, the Karma Society providing the means to contact God, and Angel strengthening the normally harmless demon data emitted from the sun, the sun has turned black, withering away all plants, and turning all people exposed to its rays into stone via the Cuvier Syndrome, forcing humanity to live underground, the lucky few chosen by an organization called the Karma Society, who lived in sanctuary and (exc. its soldiers) oblivious to the chaos outide. And the soldiers go hunting for other human refugees. That's where the Embryon Tribe enter the picture, all separated. Serph, Argilla, and Gale are found by some kids from Lokapala, one of the remaining resistance groups against the Kamra Society. Cielo has already been found by Lokapala led by Roland and is among them by the time the aforementioned three make it there thanks to those kids. Roland eventually reveals to Serph and his crew that the Junkyard, a.k.a. "Asura Project: Stage 1", was a Vitual Reality designed for urban warfare. The project was designed to develop combat enhancement AI to be implanted in the Society's soldiers, and its ultimate "winners" were going to be programmed into microchips for this purpose.
    • Later on, after accepting a deal with Roland (though only because it would lead them to Sera) to make their way into the Karma Society through a secret entrance (and holding Cielo as leverage), Serph and his party eventually made contact with the mole within the Society, who wants them to free captives at the internment facility and use the commotion from the breakout to sneak out Sera. When Argilla asks who's escorting the civilians out safely, Roland arrives and assures Lokapala wil handle that. And not only does he bring Cielo with him, he shows his own Atma Brand, offers himself to join the party, and responds to their initial distrust with a promise that they can kill him if he fails them. During this search, they eventually find Heat, but he's working for the Karma Society now, all to keep Sera safe. And it turns out the Karma Society isn't as unified and that Jenna Angel has a different plan than Margot Cuvier/Madame's, who only wants to preserve mankind, even though her methods might be undesirable. Upon chasing off Heat, and eventually confronting Angel (thanks to her soldiers turning on Madame's and showing the way), the director lent them a way out and to Sera, though not before spouting out her own plans; in contrast to Madame's vision of Order, Angel wants to sow Chaos.
    • The party manage to reach Sera and extract her from the EGG chamber, but Madame was there to put the Cyber Shaman's friends' lives at ransom, as was Heat, who went against orders and tried to rush the party. Serph stood there in response…took his attack without retaliation, then took both of them to fall inside the EGG chamber where Sera was once held. This acts (and Sera's anguish) ends up triggering God to start extracting Earth's data at a speed of 945.56 zettabytes per second using its HAARP. As for the Embryon Tribe, Gale took the reins of leadership, Roland directed the group to the Power Plant to stop the data transmission and shut down HAARP, and Angel would dispose of Madame. Unfortunately for Embryon, as well as Lokapala, this plan failed, Meganada/Indrajit is set loose to kill them all, Roland is forced to sacrifice himself to blow up the Plant, and somehow from Argilla's tears the Water Crown Atma manifests on Sera, giving her Serph's powers. Oh, and Argilla joins Roland too in his sacrifice to distract Meganada long enough for Roland's plan to succeed.
    • Sera, Gale, and Cielo return to where the EGG was in an attempt to converse with God once again, though they had to get past Heat's maddened altered Atma Avatar Vritra. It also turns out Serph had survived the plunge into the EGG chamber, and Schroedinger—an entity that took the form of a cat and had been observing the group from afar the entire time—decided to show him the truth of what happened 5 years ago: The Karma Society was trying to make contact with God, using telepathic children for this end, and Sera was the nineteenth. Serph's and Heat's "templates", Dr. Serph Sheffield and Dr. Heat O'Brien were in opposition to one another just like the AIs are, the only difference being that Sheffield was a sociopath showing only a caring facade towards Sera, whereas O'Brien's concern was beneath his frustrations, leading to what the AIs are now. And when an altercation resulted in O'Brien being killed by a nurse (who serves as Argilla's "template") devoted to Sheffield, that event, as well as his gloating of his true goal to acquire God's power for himself, led to Sera's anguish resulting in God turning the Sun black and the start of the Cuvier Syndrome, as well as Sheffield being turned into a demon and going berserk before being shot down. At the end of this exposition, Serph is met by O'Brien's ghost, as well as Sheffield's and an early version of Serph, and defeats them with O'Brien's help, after which he bursts out of Vritra, who in turn reverts into Heat, who has had memories of his template thanks to his time working under Madame. The two then depart for the room where their templates faced off and where the whole mess began, but it turns out Heat was already bleeding to death in the aftermath of his battle with the others as Vritra.
    • With the EGG busted, there was one last plan to fix things; Sera has to go to a faraway HAARP Facility, though an airplane is needed to get there in time. She intended to send herself to God alone, but the Embryon Tribe aren't saying no to coming along. And at the airport where they intend to hijack a plane, they had to go through Karma Soldiers under Angel's orders to sieze Sera. And Angel herself would intercede, though Gale would stall her to let the others through mainly because he has unfinished business with her as well, primarily regarding his template David, who was a close companion of Angel's before he died, and he would die taking her down. While a plane was thankfully found and they took off, Cielo would be the next to die as he stalls Karma Society fighters jets pursuing Serph and Sera. And when they reached the HAARP Facility, and got things started, they ended up just a wee bit too late as the facility blew up and was set ablaze, destroying their bodies.
    • Forunately however, the two managed to send their Data to God. On the way there, they ended up merging into Seraph, and the Data from their fallen companions, plus Jinana, Lupa, David, and even Madame and Angel, joined them at the Sun. Schrodinger congratulates the new Seraph for the merge, and the real final leg of the journey begins. Argilla, Gale, and Cielo rejoin the party, but depending on responses Serph makes throughout his entire journey, either Roland or Heat steps in as the fifth member of the party who would plea with God to stop consuming the Earth's data. It would be an arduous journey, with a gauntlet of previous bosses and extremely powerful demons, but eventually the party reach God (who isn't YHVH for once, but Brahman) and He is asked to turn the sun back to normal. He actually agrees… after they beat Him in combat to prove their dedication. Once they do, He proves true to His word, and Earth is able to rebuild, a surprisingly unambiguously positive ending compared to every other Shin Megami Tensei work at the time, with no more supernatural threats looming over them like every other universe, even the Persona games. While everyone else rejoins the cycle to be reborn, Seraph remains behind, having achieved enlightenment (though their constituents actually join the cycle instead), and Schrodinger shows up once more to congratulate them, revealing himself to be another Seraph who has also achieved enlightenment prior, and the two depart to parts unknown.

  • As for how the party made it to the Pantheon, it's actually courtesy of a powerful resident there establishing contact with Brahman during his fight with the party. Because everything there is technically data, copying everything necessary was a cinch, and recreating them in the Pantheon was just as simple. In respect to Seraph's fate, they do not ascend alongside everyone else, but their constituents do, and thus Serph and Sera join their comrades in the Pantheon. And to alleviate the issues of Horror Hunger, the duration it takes before the need to consume comes up is extended so that there's no need to…feed so often to be unable to enjoy the company of other non-Tuners, though the fact they still do is something Roland and Sera have to live with.
  • Applies to all or some of them:
    • Back when they existed in the Junkyard, things did not operate as they do on Earth. Whenever someone dies there, their bodies turn into the silvery rain that falls from the sky. Eventually, they are reborn and come stumbling out from the Karma Temple alone. At this point, they can either find their way to the nearest tribe and join up, or band together and try to take over another tribe's territory. This is essentially how Serph and company took over their current base, killing the leader of the previous tribe there, then going to the Karma Temple to petition them to be allowed to form their own tribe. Interestingly, Gale wasn't part of Serph's crew in the overthrow, but among the defeated tribe, who called for a ceasefire once the leader was dead, and then as per rules of the Junkyard, all remaining soldiers were integrated into the then-new Embryon Tribe.
    • In terms of their… housing, given they have none outside the simulation most of them came from, the Embryon Tribe's temple takes the form of Muladhara, their former base at the Junkyard, and their entire force was revived as well to serve as Heralds. All their soldiers, AI simulacra though they may be, were still based on once-living people just like them, and all of them have Atma brands that make them able to turn into certain demons. Due to their bonds with Argilla and Gale respectively, Jinana and Lupa are revived now as members of Embryon. Roland's soldiers among the Lokapala who were slain in the war against the Karma Society, or by the Meganada/Indrajit, are among the revived to serve as Heralds to Roland, though only those that have died after Serph's party materialized in the real world.
    • (probably have no issues with naked women at first, having witnessed Sera's arrival in that state, and likely dressed her up)
    • May or may not have attempted to enter Wrestling for a bit. Mainly [[Cielo, Argilla, and Serph (human and Atma)
    • Despite it all being a simulation, the Embyron tribe are proficient with firearms. Argilla is a talented sniper, Heat lobs grenades with a launcher (if he's not using an assault rifle), and Serph is able to shoot projectiles out of the air with a handgun. Gale also sometimes attacks with a knife in his shoe if he's not packing an assault rifle, and Cielo uses a submachinegun. Roland uses a shotgun, and Sera has learned to use a pistol. And given the threat level of things in the Pantheon, there is no need to use their Atma Avatars all the time, which have advantages in being able to use guns, having no elemental or ailment weaknesses, and immunity to Expel/Light skills.
    • However, they all still hunger for Magnetite, and acquire it from eating humans and demons in their Atma Avatars. In the case of the latter though, because SMT demons are varied, this can also mean the likes of yokai, legendary figures, or even angels and legitimate deities. Thankfully, in addition to ther current selves not needing sustenance as frequently as before, there are plenty such roaming around, and evil humans that deserve death (such as the Slavers, HYDRA, etc.) aren't in short supply either, though having said meat be processed into canned food isn't out of the question, and killing humans doesn't grant them Atma Points for improving their Avatars. And there's always the Flesh Eaters Hall in the House of Food, as well as the House of Slaughter.

  • (devouring all sorts of foes mainly leads to panic setting in from lesser-willed foes like human opponents, and demoralizing for allies too sometimes)
  • With the exception of Roland and Sera, the Embryon Tribe is fearful of the Demi-Fiend (though Heat would deny that) after an alleged encounter with him. Apparently, Cielo's weakness to ailments was crucial to their victory somehow.)
  • (Has a skill called Null Sleep, which allows one to evade all attacks while under Sleep Status)
  • As Junkyard residents who aren't completely familiar with the ways of the outside world, even with what they learn, they (or at least Gale, Serph, and Argilla) don't really understand the whole excuse of someone being Just a Kid; willingness to fight (and the capacity to contribute to it) is all that matters to be a warrior.
  • See flowers as highly valuable commodities due to the state of the Earth they were at. While it is the case now, they're not nearly as expensive as back there, and there are deities who can grow them in abundance.
  • Killing/Eating one's own allies is a sore trigger for anybody, but Cielo acts much more strongly against it, after Tribhvana Earth ate his comrades Air and Heaven in an attempt to best the Embryon Tribe. To him, anyone who does that while calling them their comrades doesn't deserve to. Gale actually pities them if all ot grants is strength, because they know that it's not everything.
  • Exclusive to Serph:
  • Exclusive to Heat:
    • (some allies get wary around Heat in his Atma Avatar form lest he try to take a bite out of them, but not when Serph or Sera are there too)
    • (Not the first time Crispin Freeman (Heat) has played a character who embraces eating people (Alucard).)
  • Exclusive to Argilla:
    • (Makes a good "Sera" from a distance when disguised properly.)
  • Exclusive to Gale:
    • (Speaking of Gale, he has a lot going on, as the text repeatedly refers to him as the 'bishop'. At first, I thought this was just a reference to how stoic and aloof he was, but no, it's actually a tribal rank of sorts. Bishops are the tactical heads of each tribe. They're stuffed full of implants that allow them to record events and play them back (at one point, Gale plugs a cable into his head behind his ear and allows the team to see his perspective on the events at the start of the game), as well as analyse and process the best possible outcome for every event. His hood isn't just for show either, as it's loaded with surveillance gear that feeds into his ocular implants (basically an internal version of the eyepiece Serph and Argilla use in the intro).)
    • Whenever he doesn't understand something, if he's not deciding to just feel it, Gale would say "I do not comprehend." And one of the other things he would say that in response to is when people parrot this phrase right after he says it, chortle at it, or otherwise directly remark on it.
    • Gale's hood hides many implants and sockets behind his brain. In a similar fashion as certain character in Ghost in the Shell, he uses a cable to connect his brain with a displaying device to replay his visual and audio memory for his cohorts. In the Pantheon, this hardware had to be invented from scratch for his needs. not to mention also having to be made compatible with the other technologies here. Thankfully, he knows how they're made, so recreating them was a cinch.
  • Exclusive to Cielo:
    • Cielo's Atma Avatar is a special case. Apart from being able to fly really fast, enough to get into a decent dogfight with fighter jets, he has a weakness to all status ailments (but not pretrification and Instant Death, and then downplayed to just Nerve ailments he's weak to). He can carry up to three human adults on his back over an extended but not overly long distance. He did complain of their weight afterwards, so this is probably not an optimal means of transport, though it helped with escaping a ship they rigged with bombs.
  • Exclusive to Sera:
    • If an Atma Avatar goes out of control by way of Hunger, Sera has a Song of Grace that can reverse its effects if they haven't succumbed completely. Of course, this option won't be possible if it's Sera herself suffering Hunger.
    • (Basically a seven-year-old at heart, while her body has undergone accelerated aging/genetic shenanigans. This makes what Heat did much creepier, and Chris Hansen gave him (and Serph) a severe warning.)
    • (An adult acts kindly to a small child, manipulating her feelings and promising her treats in exchange for favors. The child thinks that she and the adult love each other. Meanwhile, the adult's co-worker watches the almost-flirting with disgust. Is Sheffield abusing Sera's powers or molesting her?)
  • Exclusive to Roland:
    • Roland is the leader of Lokapala, one of the last resistance groups against the Karma Society.
    • With the use of interpretation of what constitutes as Data, Roland is able to power things with electricity and use his will to command consoles. This only works because of his cognition and from everything he knows of his world; this talent cannot be replicated by just any other electric-user, and those that do won't be doing it the same way as Roland does.

[up] They were originally in Genetic Engineering.

[down] Interactions purely based off of shared voice actors are now frowned upon in this project, so them being wary of deities just because they sound similar to a character sounds like a weak interaction link.

[up][up] They would be wary of gods voiced by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn because there voices would sound like Jenna Angel's voice or they might think Jinana has ascended.

I would add Jinana, Lupa and Fred to the heralds.

[up]Ok forget my suggestion about voice actor.

I'm starting to think we need an archive of approved proposals or something. With how long this thread has gotten, it's increasingly becoming a pain to keep track of this stuff.

Anywho, for Mad Rat, I can see him being Allies with Master Splinter, Mrs. Brisby, Remy, Nezu, Nicodemus, Rowf, and Snitter. All except Brisby, Rowf, and Snitter (and arguably Nezu) are good-aligned rats who would approve of another heroic rat in the Pantheon, despite Mad Rat's horrifying appearance. And Nezu, Nicodemus, Rowf, and Snitter would absolutely sympathize with Mad Rat over being the victim of animal experimentation, having experience such themselves.

Oh no, not-(GASP). I-I-I can’t say it! This is a villain so evil, so sinister, so horribly vile, that even the utterance of his name strikes fear into the hearts of men! The only safe way to refer to this King of Darkness is simply… HIM…

  • Enemies: THE POWERPUFF GIRLS, Professor Utonium, The Powerpuff Girls Z, YHVH, Homura Akemi, Future Trunks, John Connor, The Sailor Guardians, The Mane Six
  • Former Ally: Discord
  • The Devil of Townsville, HIM. HIM is a mysterious demonic entity with great power, with a true name that is unknown. HIM is a cruel being who enjoys committing evil and has the ability to warp reality however he sees fit, and yet sometimes does things outside of evil, like exercising and running a restaurant. From manipulating Bubbles into unwittingly aiding in his schemes twice, to turning all of Townsville against the Powerpuff Girls, to trapping them in their worst nightmares, to resurrecting the Rowdyruff Boys, to even causing a Bad Future that left the Powerpuff Girls scarred, HIM is responsible for a lot. While Mojo Jojo may be the Arch-Enemy of the Powerpuff Girls, HIM is by far the most powerful and dangerous of their foes, and is more than willing to perform a Villain Team-Up with others, as seen with the Beat-Alls incident.
  • It was a dark night in the Pantheon when people who were asleep suddenly wouldn’t wake up and were having nightmares of what they feared. Oddly enough, the Powerpuff Girls were not included in this number, and thanks to Klonoa and NiGHTS, managed to enter the Dream of Chibiusa Chiba alongside Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Saturn and Sailor Pluto. Here, they found her being tormented by facsimiles Of Wiseman and Black Lady, who were both dealt with by the heroes and Chibiusa was saved. However, a laugh very familiar to the Powerpuff Girls echoed throughout the dream, and to their horror, HIM emerged from what was left of the false Wiseman, revealing that while he doesn’t do repeat performances, this technically wasn’t one, as he didn’t target the girls, and also included the fact that this scheme was specifically to let them know that he had arrived. He then added that he’d invited himself to the Pantheon before fighting them. Eventually, he cackled and told the Powerpuff Girls that they’d be seeing a lot more of him from now on before leaving the Dream and releasing those who were trapped in their sleep by his power.

@r-lock — I Should note that the film's novelization tells that Castor was a former CIA agent, so that could be touched upon as well as potential interactions with fellow agents.

Given their enmity stems from Sean losing his son in a hit meant for him, he could potentially interact with Frank Castle, whose vigilantism begins with his family being killed in the midst of a gang shootout and Frank dedicating himself to fighting crime until his death, though whether he wants to avenge his family or he simply has a death wish and enjoys killing criminals is a subject of debate.

Sean wanting to raise Adam as an effort to distance him from crime reminds me of Jax Teller, who sent his sons away to be raised elsewhere, even if it means them hating their father in the future for his criminal actions as SAMCRO's president. Jax is honestly fine with it so long as his sons don't turn out like him.

@SailorVenus — Being a version of Satan, HIM would be enemies with Spawn, who was also subject to a Deal with the Devil when he realized how evil he was in the past and tried to return to the mortal realm to be with his wife... only to realize she got remarried to his best friend and he himself became an undead demon. Don't forget Malebolgia too.

Also probably an interaction with Griffith and the Godhand. By extension, enemies with Guts as HIM would bear similarities to the Godhand via being manipulative like Ubik and having reality-warping powers much like Femto.

@nightelf — I hate to keep reminding you of this, but you really need to fill out your relationships category as well as the green and empty paragraphs. I find it difficult to offer you recommendations without you offering a clear guideline and suggestions unless those matters are resolved.

@TrueChaos — If you're going to suggest someone from Kamen Rider Saber for Cool Sword, then I'd personally just go with Touma Kamiyama, given he's the main character and is likely to stand out in comparison to the other characters (unless there's a good claim for other major characters to be compiled + I feel that the Sword of Logos works better as an organization profile instead). Of course, as r-lock stated, you need to give a constructed and detailed reason to argue why they would make a good example of Cool Sword.

Reposting Zac Hobson. Honestly not much to get around on, just content that he was simpler and easier than I expected. Approvals are up BTW. Anything more to add, or is he good to go?

  • Zac Hobson is a scientist who was working on something known as "Project Flashlight", an experiment with the intent to create a wireless global energy grid. One day, on July 5th, he woke up to discover something incredibly fishy; that there was nobody to talk to or communicate with, no matter where he went or who he tried to call. After a bit of exploring as well as seemingly completing Project Flashlight, he becomes disturbingly convinced that he may be the last man on Planet Earth in an event he dubs "The Event", causing him to break into a mansion and undergo sudden mood and personality alterations in trying to cope with being all alone, resulting in a lot of ludicrous actions and performances. Things would begin to look up for Zac as he encounters a woman named Joanne and a Māori named Api, which would give him a sense of companionship, although this would be complicated by them developing a Love Triangle, with Zac and Api vying for Joanne's affection, even if the former remained committed to his scientific observations and generally kept to himself. He discovers that the Sun is becoming unstable and that a "Second Effect" may happen and goes back to his working base to check on the Flashlight Grid, which he thought was responsible for destabilizing the sun. He works with Joanne and Api to destroy the grid and although the increasing levels of ionizing radiation proved a dangerous obstacle, Zac went through with knocking down the grid and causing an explosion just before the "Second Effect" takes place.
  • What happened to Zac isn't entirely known, but the last known act was of him waking up to what appeared to be a beach and overlooking a wave of waterspouts and the emergence of a ringed planet where the Sun would usually arise. With the absence of Joanne and Api, it seemed that Zac truly did become the last living person in existence. After a beautiful, yet despairing sight and a bewildered expression from Zac, his tale was left on a blank note. At least until his presence became known in the Pantheon and even then, it isn't known just how much time Zac had spent all by himself before he came into contact with another human (or humanoid?), with the man being even more surprised by the fact that he just went from being a sole remnant of humanity to being a representative of a greater world as a "deity". At the very least, he's fine with the fact that he's no longer alone, but his experiences have certainly left him with mental scars and a changed man after "The Effect" took place.
  • It didn't take long for Zac to have a relationship with the House of Science, mainly due to his past occupation as a scientist, but even then, he feels a bit weary and anxious about how to bring himself up to talk about the circumstances he's been through. And despite his efforts in trying to provide a new source of energy, he also feels that he might end up condemned by those who would think that he's responsible for the world's end, something that Zac personally feels uncertain and very guilty of at the same time. Fortunately, despite his own vices, he was given some degree of sympathy due to his time being alone for so long, which would inevitably play a role in his loosening sanity, and given he doesn't bear any ill will, he's welcome to be an honorary member of the House. To his credit, Zac did come to like a couple of scientists, such as Dexter, Senku Ishigami, Flint Lockwood, and Ludwig von Drake thanks to their efforts in using their scientific minds and talents for the benefit of others and he personally feels that he might try to learn a thing or two for them. Also, their levels of eccentricity flatter Zac to an extent as it makes him feel a little more normal in comparison, though he doesn't mean any ill will towards them either.
  • He tried to commit suicide by overdosing on pills. This was because he was getting convinced that Protect Flashlight would be a failure, rendering his efforts to be All for Nothing, leading to depression and lacking in his success and self-esteem. Little did he know that his suicide attempt was what brought him to the whole "no humans left" predicament aside from Joanne and Api, and that was because those two were concurrently dying around the same time as Zac did. Despite this, Zac is rather hesitant to visit the House of Despondency, feeling that dwelling back on his days as the supposed last man isn't going to help him out and that it would be for the best to avoid facing despair again as he did in his second, albeit more heroic, suicide attempt leading him to a supposedly abstract setting with Saturn seeming to act in place of the Sun as Earth's major satellite. This led to some commonality with Victor Frankenstein, whose own monstrous creation led to Victor's tragedy, Sanity Slippage, and death, with Zac feeling that with how events turned out for Victor, he might have had it a bit better, not that it assuages his own turmoil one bit. For now, Zac and Victor have settled for being on speaking terms, hoping that having some a little relatable in regards to company could probably help them out.
  • "The Effect" must have been a harrowing experience, as Zac would explain it. Imagine dying, or being on the cusp of death, only to find yourself in a world where you're the only living being left. And perhaps doing it again might lead you to an entirely different world, but either way, the end results were never pretty. Although Zac would later learn that dying and coming back to a new world isn't exactly a novel concept in the Pantheon, his predicament still remains one of the more distinctive ones, and feels that the rest likely would have ended up with a better setting to deal with. Of course, there's also dying and coming back in the current world, but Zac still feels that that would be a better fate, unless you were a monster. On another note, he finds the idea of Isekai to be a rather bizarre, if interesting one, feeling that there might be some kind of link between dying and a transfer to another realm, even if he feels explaining this is going to be difficult. He's even considered asking about the matter to whatever deities went through such, and though Subaru and Rimuru might be worth conversing with regarding experiences in this, it's best that he rather let Kazuma just hang out with his entourage after learning just how bonkers and zany their adventures and hijinks could get.
  • "The Event" may also hold an alternate theory that instead of the dying being somehow taken to another world or setting, it saves them instead, only to wipe out the remainder of the world's population, rendering them in similarly dark and isolated settings to death with. Whatever way, Zac simply didn't take his situation well, even shortly after he found survivors to converse and spend time with. When it came to something like this, he found two figures that directly played responsibility for such in a twisted play to fulfill their dark goals; AM and the Army of the 12 Monkeys. Needless to say, both terrified Zac, with the former being a sadistic AI who sought nothing but to enforce a lifetime of suffering to whatever remained of humanity after kick-starting a global nuclear war while the latter was a time-traveling organization whose efficiency in their tasks was as frightening as they were quick and blinding, not to mention they were responsible for creating a virus that killed 7 billion people as part of their plan to lead themselves into what they call the "Red Forest". Fortunately for Zac, the 12 Monkeys don't really register him as someone worth looking into, even if he opposes them while AM has since found himself having to contend against a plethora of beings who seek to dismantle his tyranny and overcome his hatred and ambitions. Still, the fact that there were tragic circumstances behind their conception led Zac to contemplate just how much effort it would be for one to fall into depravity and desperation in one's goals, himself included.
  • Thanks to the events he's been through, Zac often dreads the idea of having to be all alone for all eternity, likening to the fact that he was driven insane by the lack of social contact for so long before he found Joanne and Api. Ironically, the Hall of Loneliness was a rather comforting place for him to be in as well as one where he could express and discuss his feelings and circumstances without also feeling left out. And although he'll angst about the times he's been through, even he was taken back when he heard the tale of Joe Bonham, a World War I soldier who was critically injured and crippled by an artillery strike, rendering him in a helpless, vegetative state who longed for death but could never receive such. Generally, Zac wouldn't discuss the topic of a Fate Worse than Death, but Joe's was just too apparent and he felt greatly sympathetic for what he had to go through. Despite their differences and the grim situations they've been through, they did manage to get along with each other through the shared feeling of loneliness and hoping that the Pantheon may give them a proper life that they were denied in their mortal lives.
  • He's not the only person to spend his time as the last person on Earth, as attested by the Pantheon's nature of being a cluster of several different worlds and realms with their own events and backgrounds. Zac could take solace in relating to those who went through similar circumstances, yet at the same time felt that the Pantheon's reputation of being a massive battleground for deities, even if it's in a Cold War-esque state, means that events similar to his can potentially repeat here. This sense of dread made him pitied by many who knew of Zac as well as his attempts of restarting the world to prevent the "Second Event" from occuring. His act of self-preservation led him to meet with Jim and Hilda Bloggs, an elderly English couple who were caught in the crossfire of a nuclear war against the Soviets who were able to survive a nuclear bomb via a self-constructed shelter, only to get sick and die from the aftereffects of the radiation released by said bomb. Hearing this tale made Zac pity Jim and Hilda, feeling that at least they deserved a better life and ending than a bomb. This didn't stop the two from being open and considerate to Zac, even with all of his vices. At least they could bond over being survivors, even if for a short time in the case of Jim and Hilda, and affirm to Zac how Project Flashlight really could have benefitted everyone had it worked.
    • Of course, there's also the topic of trying to find survivors in a bleak, desolate world. From Jim's experience, he spent a month being all on his own before he encountered Joanne, and the desperation of wanting someone to communicate with and feel something led the two to have sex with one another, an act that managed to alleviate Zac from his stress and depression for a while… at least until Api's own affection for Joanne started to complicate matters and force Zac into being on his own for a while. At the end of it all, he really just wanted to find anyone to feel that he wasn't alone forever. Rick Grimes was a different matter; he was a man who was put in a coma and woke up in a world infested with 'walkers' and people who would do anything to keep themselves safe as well as stealing and attacking anyone for resources in a seemingly archaic setting. Zac was rather curious about how he would have dealt with a world of "walkers", and concluded that while it would certainly be frightening, he'd at least have someone for company and to fight for, even if such a place wouldn't benefit him much regarding his profession. He and Rick have since kept in touch for their attempts in finding survivors and Zac would admit that Rick is a pretty good leader, regardless of his flaws.
  • Being alone for a prolonged period of time does prove to have a long-lasting effect on one's psyche. The fact that Zac had to spend an entire month without company despite his efforts to find anyone would take its toll on him, leading to him ranting about the state of his situation, invading homes, stealing items, and vandalizing a church whilst claiming that God is dead and that "he took his place". Nowadays, he's a bit hesitant to reflect back on said moments as regardless of his thoughts on faith, he states that he was at a sort of breaking point. There weren't a lot of figures to talk about on the topic of being driven desperate and insane from isolation, but Salad Fingers was rather… interesting. Although a tragic figure due to being a wanderer in a war-torn world and not having a clear grasp of the events he goes through, Zac has remained hesitant in directly approaching Salad Fingers, though this is mainly out of his own safety than any malice, given Salad Finger's own tendency to kill others by total accident, but regardless expresses some pity on him, know how damning isolation could do to someone's mind from personal experience, with Zac thinking that Salad Fingers remained alone in a seemingly empty world for far longer than he himself did.
Zac Hobson, July 5th. One; there has been a malfunction in Project Flashlight with devastating results. Two; it seems I am the only person left on Earth.

Hi! So, this is my first time suggesting a new deity (and talking here at all), so I’m not entirely sure if this is going to be good. Also, I did check to see if this trope was taken, and from what I’ve seen it isn’t, but ignore this if I end up wrong.

Shio Kobe, Goddess of Corrupted Cuties

Reasoning: Shio’s purity and innocence is given heavy emphasis throughout the story and serves as the core motivation for several of the characters, being the reason why Satou was drawn to her and kidnapped her in the first place, why Asahi (aside from typical Big Brother Instinct) believes she’s the key to having the happy family he always wanted and wants to find her so badly, and why Taiyou is so convinced that she’s the only one who can “cleanse” him of the pain brought on to him by his trauma. However, as Shio is continuously exposed to Satou’s influence and recovers memories of her own trauma, this purity is chipped away to the point that she herself tells Taiyou that she isn’t pure. By the time Shio and Satou are permanently separated due to the death of the latter, the Cheerful Child who was treated as the personification of Incorruptible Pure Pureness has now developed a personality and mindset nearly identical to the Yandere who kidnapped and groomed her.

Corrupt the Cutie is taken by Magik, unfortunately. I know Excessive-Menance has the idea of proposing Shio alongside Satou Matsuzaka for Deceptively Silly Title though, so perhaps you could ask them about adopting the idea.

Can get your anxiety regarding working on a shared profile for your first one, but tbh, don't like the idea of the two having separate profiles. While there are exceptions (namely with extremely complex characters sharing a profile), it's generally better to have multiple characters share a trope when it comes to a series.

@Crimson Shark: Sorry about that. I'm the type who keeps relationship bullets open until I no longer need them in the final draft.

[up][up] Oh! Uh, it’s fine. I didn’t get my hopes too high anyways.

Ummm… is A Match Made in Stockholm taken? I know Lima Syndrome is, but I couldn’t find this one. If it is taken, then I’ll consider the “asking to adopt” idea.

I’m sorry if this comes off as pushy, I just feel like my first time working on this sort of thing would be easier if it was with a single character instead of two.

[up]Before suggesting a god for the Pantheon, I'd recommend looking at the related page for the trope you want to use to check if it's taken; if it's linked to on a Pantheon subpage for a medium or work, it is. You should also check other people's sandboxes.

[up][up] As someone who has the two in my sandbox, I feel that it would be better if they were ascended together as a duo rather than separately, hence why I'm thinking of nominating both of them for Deceptively Silly Title eventually.

[up][up] So, I want to start by saying I did check around to see if it was taken, and I still didn’t find it. Maybe I missed a spot, but I do want to confirm that I did do some looking around before asking.

[up] Yeah, I get what you’re saying. It’s just that, as I said, since this was my first proposal I wanted to… for lack of a better term… play it safe? I guess? I don’t know how to describe it. I know two characters over one isn’t a massive leap, I guess I just want to get a proper hang of things. This probably doesn’t make sense, I’m just kind of nervous right now (especially with my first suggestion getting rejected). Again, I apologize if I sound weird or pushy.

I’m perfectly willing to drop this if you’re not willing to let me adopt or let me do a solo Shio proposal. It’s probably gonna be a minute until I can get any other ideas though, so… bye for now.

[up] If I decide to let you adopt and work on Satou and Shio, I'll send you a PM to give you permission to write them.
