Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For PokĂ©mon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the PokĂ©mon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the PokĂ©mon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a PokĂ©mon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Thinking about stuff, maybe I will try to work on Kha'Zix soon-ish. Still wish that there would be a lore update for the Void.

Also, I just remembered that I jokingly said I would work on Illaoi alongside Symmetra. I guess that didn't work out.

Day 1 repost of Creon:

Creon, God of Satisfied Second-In-Command

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/creon.jpeg
  • Vote: 2, ascend on the 28th
  • Demigod
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Domain: Service, Politic, Burial
  • Portfolio: Second-in-command who is satisfied with his position under Oedipus, refused to bury Polynices, different opinion on whether he is a Villain Protagonist or a Tragic Hero, Well-Intentioned Extremist, tried to release Antigone but was too late
  • Allies: Many rulers in the Pantheon, especially Tywin Lannister, many Transformers deities especially Soundwave
  • Enemies: Starscream, Ophelia, Varys
  • Complicated Relationship with: Oedipus
  • Opposes: Alistair Theirin
  • Opposed by: Many Ancient Greeks deities.
  • Follower: Kevan Lannister, Cyclonus, Ultra Magnus
  • The second-in-command of Oedipus, after hearing that his former king has ascended to the Pantheon, Creon immediately packed his belonging in order to visit him and help him to settle in. Touched by Creon's dedication.
    • However, his reunion with Oedipus got heated when the king learned about Creon's involvement with his daughter death because she wanted to bury his daughter. While Oedipus appreciate Creon's loyalty, he angrily asked Creon to not come to his temple again.
    • Additionally, Creon's action of refusing to bury Polynices has earned him the ire of every other Greek deities in the Pantheon. However, not many can agree on whether his punishment for the action (losing his wife, son and daughter-in-law right after planning to pardon Antigone) is too harsh, appropriate for his incredible disrespect or not harsh enough.
  • Because of his what his temple represent, Creon is extremely popular among the rulers and kings/queens in the Pantheon. Many of them are glad that their most trusted second-in-command is present and helps them run their domains.
    • However, Lord Varys is banned from entering the temple because of his murder of one of its followers Kevan Lannister to throw Westeros into chaos.
    • His temple is one of the favorite place for Tywin Lannister to visit due to the fact that one of his followers is Tywin's own loyal servant Kevan. The same thing can be said for many of the Transformers deities, especially Soundwave.
  • Because of the trope that his temple represent, he has nothing contempt for Starscream, who is the complete opposite.
  • He has a bad relationship with Ophelia because she was also disrespect during her death while he considers her a lunatic that only bring trouble to other people around her.
  • Think Alistair is too whiny and uncaring about his responsibilities. Although Creon does acknowledge that Alistair might eventually grow out of that mindset.

@ Count Olaf, Roman: [tup]

The Guardian Deities go up today. What should I add to Remus Lupin?

Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini, Divine Quartet of The Home Field Advantage (The Guardian Deities, The Land Spirit Pokemon, The Sacred Guardians, The Guardian Tapus)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/from_left_to_right_tapus_koko_lele_bulu_and_fini.jpg
The aforementioned Tapus, from left to right
  • Votes: 3(J Rads 47, Cybran General Strum, rin14100)
  • Date of ascension: 23 February
  • House: Supportive Combat (House of Combat)
  • Intermediate Deities
  • Symbol: Their respective Z-Crystal, Tapunium Z
  • Theme Song: Guardian Deity Battle Music
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (Tapu Koko), Unclear (Tapu Lele), Chaotic Good (Tapu Bulu), True Neutral (Tapu Fini)
  • Ability: Electric Surge (Tapu Koko), Psychic Surge (Tapu Lele), Grassy Surge (Tapu Bulu), Misty Surge (Tapu Fini)
  • Gender: Genderless, though Tapu Koko and Bulu identify as male while Tapu Lele and Fini identify as female
    • Shared moves: Nature's Madness (normal move), Guardian of Alola (Z-Move)
    • Tapu Koko: Brave Bird, Wild Charge, Discharge
    • Tapu Lele: Aromatic Mist, Psyshock, Skill Swap
    • Tapu Bulu: Wood Hammer, Horn Leech, Superpower
    • Tapu Fini: Moon Blast, Brine, Aqua Ring
  • Portfolio(in general): The Fair Folk, Alolan Guardians, Dark and Troubled Past, More Powerful In Their Terrains, Percent Damage Attack, Animal-Themed Superbeing, Capricious Guardian Deities, Four-Temperament Ensemble, Mask of Power
  • Domains: Fairies, Alola, Guardians, Terrains (all four), Anger, Curiosity (Tapu Koko), Healing, Cruelty (Tapu Lele), Kindness, Strength (Tapu Bulu), Water, Purity (Tapu Fini)
  • Followers: Magetta, The Parshendi, Michael Westen, Red Rapier
  • Allies(in general): Zygarde, Rayquaza, Lilo and Stitch
  • Enemies:
  • Opposes: The Toxicity sub-house (especially Tapu Bulu), cosmic horrors
  • Opposed by: Trevenant (Tapu Bulu only)
  • The region of Alola consists of four islands; Melemele, Akala, Ula'ula and Poni Islands. Each of these is host to a guardian deity, the Land Spirit Pokemon. Known as Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini, these four Pokemon serve as protectors of their island and are venerated by the locals. However they can be capricious and fickle, sometimes causing trouble for the local populace. Now, they have entered the Trope Pantheon.
  • All four share an ability to utilize a Home Field Advantage; a "Surge" ability. These initiate terrains prominent for their typing; Tapu Koko becomes immune to sleep and boosts Electric moves, Tapu Lele is immune to increased priority moves and is boosted in Psychic power, Tapu Bulu heals over time and has boosted Grass moves and Tapu Fini is no longer able to be confused. They also share a signature move in Nature's Madness and signature Z-move in Guardian of Alola, which subtracts half and 3/4 of the opponent's current HP respectively.
  • As guardians of Alola, they get along with Zygarde. Zygarde has been seen protecting the region through its many cells and cores, so the two are business partners to some extent. Being a fellow protector they get along with Rayquaza. Also, as Alola is the Pokemon equivalent of Hawaii there's some amiability between them and Lilo and Stitch. Tapu Koko likes to fight with Sparky, while Tapu Bulu can appreciate Reuben's Brilliant, but Lazy nature and ended up becoming partners with him. As the main Tapu and being like Sparky it decided to partner up with Lilo and Stitch.
  • They oppose eldritch abominations because of their conflict with the Ultra Beasts, particularly Gluttony as he's eerily similar to Guzzlord. Being fairy types they are all vulnerable to poison, especially Tapu Bulu. Denzel Crocker has been declared a major enemy as he jumped at the idea of getting four FAIRY-type legendaries for himself, and learned painfully that they are not weak to butterfly nets.
  • Tapu Koko is known for protecting his home, but is fickle and has a big temper. It has a vested interest in combat, spending time seeking out combatants in the House of Combat who peak its curiosity. It's gotten fond of conflict with the similarly tempermental Gnar and Asura. Because it gets angry quickly but soon forgets what makes it mad, it is prime target for trolling by Yuuki Terumi and getting enraged at how annoying Excalibur is.
  • Tapu Koko isn't a flying type, but it has a lot of rooster theming with it. As such, it has affinity towards the Birds sub-house. Not much of a fan of Lord Shen's evil ways.
  • Tapu Lele may look innocent, but is considered guilessley cruel and is probably fey of the Land Spirit Pokemon. It has been seen messing around with some of the other gods, playing cruel pranks on them and it's unclear if it's aware what it's doing is wrong. Found the idea of stealing keys from Klefki amusing, and because of its capricious nature felt it best to team up with Puck. Does seem to have distaste for war as it once stopped one by healing tired warriors, and as such it doesn't like Khorne.
  • The scales of Tapu Lele are capable of healing people, however too much of the stuff is dangerous. It still adds a bunch of them, either not knowing or not caring. Suspiciously it hangs out with some disreputable members of the House of Health and Diseases, such as the Medic and Valentine. However it does show contempt for diseases carriers, though made the mistake of believing that the "psychic is super-effective against poison" logic applies to non-Pokemon.
  • Of the four Tapus, Tapu Bulu seems the most benevolent. This brawny legendary protects the weak, and doesn't want to cause unnecessary violence. To those who offend it it shows no mercy, leading to it to agree with Kenshiro's methods of taking out utter scum. However it can be rather lazy and unmotivated, which it somewhat shares with Sans. It hates thieves, which got it into trouble went it rampaged in the House of Crime.
  • Tapu Bulu is associated with trees and vegetation, which it takes care of and helps grow. It is interested in Swamp Thing and Mary Lennox for this reason, while disliking Poison Ivy because it disagrees with her using plants for eco-terrorism and crime. However the House of Plants have had to deal with it uprooting trees and swinging them around in combat. He tried to do this with both Trevenant and Exdeath. Was temporarily banned from the House of Commerce by practicing there.
  • Tapu Fini is an aloof figure, preferring not to be involved with humans but will help out others if it considers them worthy. Like Tapu Lele, it has healing properties; its water has purifying qualities and has been sought out for this reason. As such it associates with Rei Ayanami, and understands Cael Cynder. Teamed up with the Spring Sprite for this reason.. It opposes polluters, and gods like Giovanni who might want to take advantage of it.

Currently at 0 thumbs for Mrs. Brisby

Mrs. Brisby, Goddess of Nice Mice (Elizabeth Brisby, Mrs. Jonathan Brisby, Mrs. Frisby)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brisby9a.jpg
  • Potential House: Mammals
  • Theme: "Flying Dreams"
  • Demigoddess
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Symbol: The Stone and her red cape
  • Portfolio: Nice Mice, Reluctant Action Mom, Distress Ball, Hysterical Woman only from circumstances, Nice Girl, Shrinking Violet, Mama Bear
  • Domains: Mice, Niceness, Mothers
  • Superior: Don Bluth
  • Followers: Chuck E. Cheese, Alexander, Jaq and Gus, the Eftirmatur family, Bernard and Bianca, Roquefort, Timothy Q. Mouse, Reepicheep, Desperaux, Stuart Little, Wee Widow Mouse, The Mauzherz, Pipsy Mouse, Plusle and Minun, Mattie the Mouse, Mighty Mouse
  • Allies: Remy, Fievel Mouskewitz, Dumbo, Basil and Dawson, Pinky, Pikachu, Jerry, Mickey Mouse, Speedy Gonzalez, Ducky, all other Mice gods in the Pantheon
  • Uneasy Around: The Brain, Tiger
  • Enemies: Ratigan, Tom, The Grand Duke of Owls
  • A kind, beautiful widow and mother of four children, she's very beloved in the House of Mammals, especially by her fellow mice. Jerry in particular has tried several time to get her to go on a date with him, but she seems skeptical that anyone could ever take the place of her late husband, Johnathan.
  • Occasionally she's sought out for help on rescue missions from Bernard and Bianca because of her powerful necklace, the Stone, which temporarily gives her telekinetic power and the ability to produce fire. Using its power causes severe burns to her body, and as such she only ever agrees to use it in life-or-death situations. She's also sometimes invited to be a taste tester for some of Remy's cooking, and as a character witness by detective Basil thanks to her unflinching honesty and connection to almost every mouse and rat in the pantheon.
  • She has a fear of owls, not helped at all by the fact that The Grand Duke of Owls has attempted to eat her several times. Luckily, he can't get near her while the Stone is around her neck, which has only lead the Duke to covet her necklace for his own nefarious needs.
  • On top of being afraid of owls, she's also terrified of cats, to the point that she can't stop shaking when even someone as benign as Fievel's friend Tiger is in the same room as her. Her fear isn't helped by the fact that her husband was killed by a particularly monstrous cat. Despite that, she's been trying to work on this fear so she can meet new people.
  • She has mixed feeling on the Brain— unlike most, she doesn't dismiss the idea that one of his plots to take over the world will succeed some day, and sees him as a real threat. On the other hand, Mrs. Brisby is one of the few people that The Brain is impeccably mannered around, making her wonder whether his world domination attempts might just be his way of dealing with his rotten lot in life.
  • Unlike the Brain, however, she has a completely negative view of Ratigan and his proclivities of kidnapping the fathers of children. She also dislikes his bigoted view of rats, having met many friends during her encounters of the rats of NIMH.
  • Ducky of the House of Words is particularly fond of her because of how much she reminds her of her own mother. Mrs. Brisby is always happy to see her, but not always happy that she keeps trying to invite her to the Dominion of the Great Valley where she tends to get tangled up in another fear of hers: getting squashed.
  • Having only some of her husband's teachings for an education, she's just a hair above being illiterate. After becoming determined to learn to read to set a better example for her children, she's lately been seeking someone in the pantheon to be her reading teacher.

Any deities who take Video Game Cruelty Potential to its' limits?

Cuccos, God of Video Game Cruelty Punishment (Cucco's Revenge Squad)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/600px_hw_cucco.png
A giant Cucco
  • Lesser God(s)
  • Symbol: The plain white chicken
  • Alignment: True Neutral (unless provoked)
  • Portfolio: "Fantasy" Deadly Chicken, Powerful for their size, Attacks when provoked, Does Not like being attacked
  • Domains: Cruelty, Provoked, Punishment
  • Followers: Pigs
  • Allies: Foghorn Leghorn, Billy Hatcher
  • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals.
  • Enemies: The Dwarves, Jack, The Wanderer
  • Opposes: Link, Mario
  • Pities: Yoshi
  • The Cuccos are ascended as a reminder that all Video Game Cruelty Potential is punishable. At first, these Cuccos mind their own business. But once they are provoked by being abused, they'll retaliate with a swarm of Cuccos coming out of nowhere and attack their aggressors. As the result, they are feared by many deities who thought these chickens are harmless.
  • These birds despise Link as he would be the one who always provoke them. Link has since been cautious to not invoke the wrath of the cocks.
  • Representing Video Game Cruelty Punishment, they detest those who take Video Game Cruelty Potential to its' limits, viewing them as no different than Link.
  • Foghorn found the Cuccos to be adorable little chicks and is pleased that the cuccos are willing to defend themselves when Link pointlessly attack them.
  • Billy has helped hatch some of the Cucco's eggs, in which the birds were (in a way) appreciative. Though Billy doesn't like their furious retaliation considering that chicken shouldn't be violent.
  • The representing Cucco is a Giant Cucco that leads the cucco in the Pantheon. Members include many white cuccos, some rare gold cuccos, and a special Cucco like the Pocket Cucco and Cojiro.
  • Cuccos aren't just for violating anyone that attacks them, they can also be used to gliding when being grabbed and fly over obstacles. It is also a popular sport as seen with Falbi's Flight by Fowl.
  • The Dwarves were far too dumb to heed the warning of the cuccos and try to capture and eat the chickens. Many dwarves died as a result of the swarm clawing their flesh and peck their eyes out.
  • Some of the Cuccos were founded in various arenas in the Fourth Smash Bros. Tournament. Suffice to say, some of the fighters hurt these birds and the horde begin pecking at their aggressors. Now, many of them could understand how Link felt when he thought hurting the Cuccos was a good idea.
  • It pities Yoshi for the several time that Mario would jump out of the mount to give an extra height while sacrificing him to the bottomless pit. The Cucco sometimes attack Mario at random and without warning.
  • Lana has the possibility of summoning Cuccos and even the giant versions of them through her Summoning Gate, among other monsters. It's probably one of the few people that the Cuccos like.

Massive changes to Olaf's profile ahoy! Changed how he got into the Pantheon with something more in character (And adding another brick to my decision to not write a Tale). Also, huge beef-up to his profile in general.

Also, I see that I have 1 [tup] for Olaf.

Count Olaf, God of Illegal Guardians

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/olaf_7999.jpg
  • Rank: Quasideity
  • Symbol: The V.F.D. insignia tattooed on his ankle
  • Theme song: It's The Count
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: Abusive Parents, The Alcoholic, Card-Carrying Villain, Clark Kenting, quite obviously being evil, Manipulative Bastard, loves burning things down, willing to harm children to get what he wants, Having a rather pitiable end
  • Domains: Arson, Disguises, Kidnapping
  • Allies: The Child Abuse Supporters, except for Scar, Barney Stinson, Eric Cartman, Doctor Facilier, Raul Menendez, Noboyuki Sugou, Junko Enoshima, Brand, Oswald Cobblepot
  • Enemies: Anyone who gets in his way or is a threat to his plans, all of the Nickelodeon deities, Olaf the Snowman from Frozen, the force of gravity, Ragnaros the Firelord, Slender Man
  • Heralds: His theater troupe (Or at least, what's left of it: The Person of Indeterminate Gender, the Bald Man with the Long Nose, and the Circus freaks: Hugo, Colette, and Kevin. For publicity's sake, the Man with a Beard But No Hair and the Woman with Hair but No Beard are also part of this group, even though they technically outrank Olaf.)
  • Opposed by: Scar
  • An actor who was once part of the organization known as V.F.D., Count Olaf is a cruel, relentless, and murderous villain with only one goal; to get his hands on the elusive Baudelaire Fortune (And whatever other fortunes that tickle his fancy), and spend it however he pleases. To that end, Olaf spent a great deal of his life hounding the Baudelaire Orphans, first by being their abusive guardian, and then hunted them down across the earth, killing their kinder guardians, forcing them to live with atrocious ones, and eventually framing them for the murder of Jacques Snicket, Lemony Snicket's brother, whom everyone thought was Olaf (And called him Count Omar), all so that Olaf could keep the orphans in his grasp and gain the fortune when Violet turned 18.
  • Olaf had been planning to properly ascend once V.F.D.'s presence started to spread around the Pantheon. Knowing that he would need a rather large publicity stunt to do so, Olaf snuck into the House of Family's Siblings and Children's subhouses, and cracked open diving helmets containing the toxic Medusoid Mycelium. Soon, many of the deities present began to cough and choke, nearly dying from the deadly fungus. If it wasn't for Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Jimmy Neutron managing to figure out the cure (Horseradish) in time, the causalities would've been enormous. Once cured of the fungus, the more powerful deities there soon located Olaf and began to beat the ever-loving stuffing out of him. However, they failed to realize that this was exactly what Olaf had been counting on. Melkor was impressed by Olaf's actions, and once the Count was fixed up, allowed him to ascend into the Pantheon.
  • Count Olaf's temple is basically his house, which, while rather large and spacious, is filthy and decrepit. Said house holds a tall tower that he uses to hold prisoners and plan his schemes. No one goes near his temple, as they find Olaf's house to be atrocious and unhygenic.
  • Olaf was disappointed that the Baudelaires hadn't ascended yet, as until they do, he won't be able to get his hands on their fortune. As such, the Man with a Beard but No Hair, and the Woman with Hair but No Beard, have directed Olaf to fulfill their other goals in the meantime until the Baudelaires properly ascend.
    • However, Olaf's a bit glad that Lemony Snicket hasn't ascended yet. According to one interpretation of his world, Count Olaf actually dreads having to face Snicket. Snicket has revealed that Olaf had made a point to frame him for many of the Count's crimes of arson, further indicating that Lemony is one of the few people that Olaf actually fears.
  • While the rules of the Pantheon state that unascended followers and heralds can't influence events in the Pantheon directly, Olaf has been using the loophole that, since his troupe technically count as fire-starting V.F.D. agents and that V.F.D. as an organization has ascended, they are capable of directly helping him. After all, while Olaf claims to be an individual practitioner, many of his schemes would not have worked without his theater troupe, and due to several members of his troupe (The white-faced women and Fernald) defecting, Olaf needs all the help he can get. He's managed to revive the androgynous person and the bald man in order to bolster his numbers.
    • Speaking of which, the Man with A Beard but No Hair, and the Woman with Hair But No Beard, have used said loophole and their statuses as members of the high court in order to infiltrate the House of Justice and the GUAL. Both plan to undermine whatever plans that pose a threat to their goals, and have been passing information to Olaf for him to use. They're also trying to stall Eiki Shiki's plans to reform the GUAL, as the current Lawful Evil nature of the alliance makes it easier for them to manipulate YHVH's plans to their own advantage.
  • Olaf gets along well with, most of the Child Abuse Supporters. He and Ghetsis got along swimmingly, and Olaf immediately formed an Unholy Matrimony with Lady Tremaine, seeing her as a superior replacement to Esme Squalor, since Tremaine isn't obsessed with fashion. He really doesn't care much for Heihachi Mishima, but he views the man as a decent meat shield.
    • However, the one member of the Child Abuse Supporters that Olaf doesn't get along with is Scar. This is because in Olaf's world, the fire-starting side of the schism got their hands on all of V.F.D.'s Volunteer Feline Detectives, and proceeded to treat them like slaves. Olaf starved the ones under his command, and left them to burn when he torched Caligari Carnival. Scar has threatened Olaf that if he ever tries something like that with him, then Olaf will be wishing that he was shot with a harpoon gun. Olaf, nervous, agreed.
    • Speaking of Lady Tremaine, Olaf is rather annoyed at her fear of Homura Akemi, commenting that because of said fear, Tremaine managed to paint an even larger target on her back by provoking the Demacian army. Of course, Olaf does understand the threat that they pose, and as such, he plans to get Tremaine the resources that she would need to hold off the Demacians via the large number of stolen V.F.D. animals, equipment, and money his associates obtained. As for Homura...Olaf couldn't think of anything and decided to try cure Tremaine of her fear of Homura instead by cosplaying as the magical girl and trying to act out her mannerisms. Needless to say, the grotesque disguise was so revolting, that Tremaine screamed in horror, vomited, and then fainted. It does seem to have worked however, if only because the image Olaf put into Tremaine's mind was so awful and yet so ridiculous, there aren't many things that can top it. She has told Olaf to never do it again however. Olaf, chuckling, agreed.
  • Much to his irritation, Olaf's disguises don't work as well in the Pantheon as they did in his world, owing to how most people in the Pantheon aren't complete idiots. While the resources of the GUAE have improved his disguise kit, he still is only capable of fooling the ditzes and morons of the Pantheon. However, Olaf is quite capable of making due with what he has...
  • Olaf finds the Nickelodeon deities to be loathsome and godforsaken due to how poor a certain movie portrayed the initial events of his world. While he's willing to "help" (Read: Manipulate) evil gods like Plankton and Zim fulfill their goals, Olaf is fulling willing to betray them once they have outlived their usefulness to him.
  • Much like many members of V.F.D., Olaf's history is unknown. Reports indicate that while Olaf wasn't the best V.F.D. trainee, he was at least able to start a relationship with Kit Snicket and was actually a friend to several of the Baudelaire's parents and future guardians. However, at some point, Olaf's parents were murdered by the parents of the Baudelaires, and Olaf himself may have been a factor into worsening the V.F.D. schism. Olaf is rather reluctant to share the full details of his past with the rest of the Pantheon, and he has mocked the good-aligned gods who gained these snippets of knowledge into thinking that they could coerce the story out of him.
  • Several people confused Count Olaf with Olaf the Snowman. The Count was infuriated at learning that he shared his name with a living snowman, and has put the other Olaf on his list of enemies. Currently, he's trying to decide whether he should kick the other Olaf to bits, or just melt him with a blowtorch.
  • Due to certain reasons, Count Olaf has been noted to sound like and even look like, on occasion, people like Barney Stinson, Bruce Nolan, Truman Burbank, and Nightwing. The latter three do not take kindly to Olaf, as he has managed to properly disguise himself as them, and find him to be abhorrent. Nightwing does sympathize with Olaf's parents being murdered, but he still finds Olaf's pursuit against the Baudelaires to be far too cruel to justify.
    • Barney Stinson on the other hand, views Olaf with intrigue, and agrees with Olaf that nothing should be safe forever when the topic of Olaf-land (An island that held a large number of shipwrecked items and people, but was more notable for being where Olaf's mortal life came to an end came up. Olaf's backstory and motivations are of great interest to Barney, but Olaf has refused to divulge all of the details to him. Regardless, the two get along well.
  • Having added the force of gravity to his list of enemies during his time at the Hotel Denouement, Olaf is opposed to Enigma, Shu Shirakawa, and Viridian, who use the power. None of them really think of Olaf as a threat.
  • Count Olaf was all set to use the Medusoid Mycelium as a weapon against anyone vulnerable to the fungus, only for the cure to quickly be distributed throughout the Pantheon. Many groves of horseradish, including hybridized crops, have been planted throughout the House of Nature in order to curb any advantages Olaf was hoping to gain. Olaf was annoyed by this, though he can't help but pick some of the bitter apples that have been grown, since they did save him when he'd been poisoned by the Medusoid Mycelium himself. Of course, said bitter apples couldn't save him from the harpoon wound in his gut.
    • As such, when it comes to weapons, Olaf tends to stick to his knives and his harpoon gun, despite the fact that the latter was what ultimately did him in.
  • Deciding that he would need a replacement Tyke Bomb after Carmelita Spats proved to be too spoiled, Count Olaf searched the pantheon for any children with potential to be evil. Eric Cartman immediately jumped at the opportunity to help Olaf with his schemes of murder and arson. While Olaf approves of Cartman's disturbing actions, he does curse that Cartman also acts like a spoiled brat.
  • One of Count Olaf's favorite codes to use are anagrams. He has used this several times to his advantage, mainly by making anagrams of his name and title. In particular, he has used the anagram 'Al Funcoot' whenever it comes to screenwriting for theater. Unfortunately for Olaf, everyone finds Al Funcoot's plays to be utter garbage and have banned him from the House of Theater. Olaf has since sworn revenge on them.
  • Count Olaf is rather wary of the Slender Man, as Slendy's habit of kidnapping and making people disappear reminds Olaf far too much of the Great Unknown, an unfathomable water-borne beast in the shape of a question mark.
    • Likewise, Olaf stays far away from Ragnaros the Firelord. Olaf may love setting things on fire, but the level that Ragnaros takes it to is far too extreme, even for Count Olaf.
  • Needing more allies in order to conduct his schemes, Olaf immediately went to the House of Villains for help. Doctor Facilier signed up to help Olaf, and unlike Madame Lulu, Facilier is bona-fide evil and has helped Olaf understand more of the supernatural nature of the Pantheon. Raul Menendez also decided to ally himself with the Count, much to Olaf's delight, though Raul clarified that he would only listen to the Man with a Beard but No Hair and the Woman with Hair but No Beard, due to how intimidating they are.
    • Olaf would later meet Noboyuki Sugou, who introduced the Count to his work. Olaf doesn't think highly of the internet though, having bought an hourglass online that failed to be dramatic. As for Sugou himself, Olaf's opinion of the man is mixed, pointing out that Sugou should have killed Kirito first then raped Asuna, instead of the other way around. Sugou's Mind Control research is of intrigue to Count Olaf, though he does secretly think that such "High Concept Science Fiction" makes his plots a bit too complicated.
    • The Count also met Junko Enoshima, who found Olaf's horrible crimes and the nature of his world as wonderful examples of a despair driven universe. She's volunteered to help Olaf with his schemes, which the Count agreed to. However, Olaf privately finds Junko to be too crazy for his tastes, not because he's disgusted by her, but because he believes that her obsession with despair impairs her ability as a villain, comparing it to Esme Squalor's obsession with fashion.
    • Olaf immediately hit off with Brand, having found someone who would make torching buildings that much easier (And not take it to Ragnaros' level). Brand likewise, was pleased to hear of the fires that Olaf created, especially the one that destroyed the Hinterlands.
    • Thought he saw a mirror image of himself wearing fancier clothes until Olaf realized that he had met Master Xehanort, who is intrigued by the information network of V.F.D., thinking that they might have information about Kingdom Hearts. Due to not caring about a heart-shaped moon, Olaf walked away.
    • The Penguin has allowed Olaf and his troupe to use his nightclubs, but warned Olaf that if his property burns down and if Olaf tries to get his hands on the Cobblepot fortune, he will sever his ties with the Count and make a personal effort to destroy him. Due to liking the wine, Olaf has agreed to these terms, for now.
