• Asterisks are jewel-like objects that were created by the Sage Yulyana in his plot to usurp the Crystal Orthodoxy's authority in "granting vocations".
• Initially, changing one's job or 'vocation' required a special approval from within the Crystal Orthodoxy. With the asterisks however, the Sage would be able to prevent the institution from growing rich from fat profits known as 'alms'. Sage approached the panicked high officials and the grand patriarch, proposing to them the asterisks, mentioning that "granting vocations should be based on it, as overseen by the Orthodoxy." To that end, those wanting to apply for a 'vocation' would apply to the Orthodoxy and pay a fair price. Those who could pay may apply to change their jobs. The grand patriarch and his officials only sought profit through it, thus they agreed to Sage's proposal.
• Afterwards, Sage was then appointed by the grand patriarch as the 'overseer' of the new asterisk system. However, since Sage was the only person who possessed the knowledge of creating the asterisks, coupled with the fact that he had changed the previous system of changing jobs towards the asterisk system, he had essentially robbed the Crystal Orthodoxy of their authority to grant vocations. Acknowledging his success in having robbed the Orthodoxy of their influence, he escaped from the position, taking with him the knowledge of creating the asterisks. Since the profits gained from the asterisk system were controlled by Sage who had already sequestered himself within the Yulyana Woods, the Crystal Orthodoxy were thus rendered incapable of gaining any semblance of profit from the asterisk job system.
• These Asterisks were once held by various officials in the Eternian Empire before being… "relieved" of them by Tiz and company, and a few others were also retrieved from various elites in the Glanz Empire. Due to the risk of these Asterisks getting stolen (and thus bequeathing their powers to those thieves, not to mention anyone else who gets their hands on them), they requested for the Court to place these in the Treasury. As for how they'll be able to change jobs without them, turns out their ascension already grants that, just like how Bartz doesn't need the Crystal fragments from his world to do the same anymore.
• Aside from offering Job Classes to their holders, these Asterisks can conjure an "asterisk space" that prevents the holders' opponents from escaping. Aside from Sage Yulyana, the creator of these Asterisks, there's no known way of entering it from the outside, either, or what it even looks like from the outside. The only way out is through possessing an Asterisk of your own, or—as stated above—defeating the Asterisk holder(s) (taking their Asterisk is actually optional).
• There are thirty-five Asterisks in total that have been gathered this far: Monk, White Mage, Black Mage, Knight, Thief, Merchant, Spell Fencer, Time Mage, Ranger, Summoner, Valkyrie, Red Mage, Salve-Maker, Performer, Pirate, Ninja, Swordmaster, Arcanist, Spiritmaster, Templar, Dark Knight, Vampire, Conjurer, Wizard, Charioteer, Fencer, Bishop, Astrologist, Catmancer, Hawkeye, Patissier, Exorcist, Guardian, Kaiser, and Yōkai.
  • Due to not being Player Characters in the second game, the powers of the Wizard Asterisk onward are not available to Agnès and Ringabel. • While Torbjörn and the Engineer were discussing sentry guns one day, and the topic eventually came to the Sentry Turrets of Aperture Science. Naturally, both had fun ridiculing its design flaws. The next day, a file from Cave Johnson with an attached video was delivered to the Court of the Gods. Turns out he had been listening in on that conversation in secret.
  • It showed the features of his Sentry Turrets, the very ones GLaDOS used in the tests she forced Chell through. After going through the file, they decided to "ascend" them for two titles: Weak Turret Gun for how easy it is to take them out, and Cartridges in Flight, since their firing system actually spring-launches the entire bullet.
  • The day after Cave delivered his file, his proposal to ascend his Sentry Turrets was approved, but there was a certain issue...
  • Given the nature of the trope and the deity, there was some debate on how to bring them up and how to represent them. It was one thing to ascend a squadron of unnamed human soldiers as can be seen in the House of War, but this was what was essentially a consumer product (with battle applications, admittedly) that just happened to never make it to the shipping stage. Eventually, a verdict was reached.
  • And so the Sentry Turrets' two temples (in Robotics & Machinery and Firearms) were essentially turned into Aperture Facilities for manufacturing these things, and then actually shipping them all over the Pantheon. Due to their... "reliability", they come relatively cheap, despite Cave's protests. Shipping is handled both by on-site pick-ups and hired delivery services (though Derpy often gets them jostled, and the Courier either actually delivers on time, or his usual and they actually prove useful for the customer's situation).
  • That said, there's a chance that a Defective Turret might be manufactured instead, but the facilities actually have quality checks to make sure none of those actually get shipped. It's one of the actual competent things Aperture does, though it's done by having a Sentry Turret as a template for its quality checker; swap that with a Defective Turret and you'll get good Turrets being tossed out.
• Here's an advertisement for the Turrets in case you wish to make a purchase.
• Aperture Science advises to only use Aperture-brand Resolution Pellets when loading the Sentry. "Incident resolution" is not guaranteed if anything else is loaded. Also make sure the turret is in Non-Judgment Mode before doing so.
• They don't just come in plain white chassis, one can request for different kinds of designs, like Forest Camo, Desert Camo, Wood (Table), Brick (Evening At The Improv), an orange-and-white design (What Idiot Picked This?), and more. And there's always the option to paint it afterwards.
• As for why Turrets are able to sing, it's meant for soothing any babies it's protecting back to sleep after shooting any house intruders.
• Due to how the Turrets fire their bullets, they're actually far weaker than if it had been fired by striking the primer hard and thus using the gunpowder to propel the bullet, which explains why Chell is able to survive their attacks despite lacking any sort of armor.
• Naturally, with no one saying otherwise, most gods who order their turrets get theirs modified (either by themselves or someone else) in all sorts of ways, like clamps to keep from falling over, changing up the firing systems so that they actually shoot bullets like bullets, and so on. Thankfully, since the "vanilla" versions still fit their current tropes, these mods don't affect their divine positions in the Pantheon.
  • Those commonly known to mod these turrets are the Engineer and Torbjörn (only for purposes of study), Peridot, Cyborg, Tony Stark (same reasons as Torb and Dell), Lucca, San Francisco DedSec, Tali'Zorah, Nitori Kawashiro, Miles Prower, etc.
    • Symmetra looks down on these turrets not only for their "medieval" design despite their smooth aesthetic (the only positive quality she considers), but for actually being far weaker than Torbjörn's and Dell's (let alone her own). Still, she has had one purchased for modification purposes; perhaps she can come up with a far superior design than Aperture's.
    • Asroc, being his team's resident Gadgeteer Genius, would try his hand on making his own improvements on them with his Septima. Not only to further aid his comrades and their efforts, but also as an opportunity to showcase his superiority over others in his field of work. Heck, with his abilities he could even turn the Defective Turrets into something useful with just the right amount of parts of junk lying around.
• The Spy finds them hilariously easy to thwart. He doesn't even need a Sapper to destroy them. They particularly don't like it when he uses am Ap-Sap on them, which looks like Wheatley.
  • Speaking of Wheatley, anybody carrying the Idiot Ball from the Treasury since the two are one and the same will get fired upon with extreme prejudice. Which is merely getting fired upon without and prior greeting. This prejudice also applies to all Black Mesa personnel given they're Aperture Science products.

• A fearsome Helghast Colonel, Mael Radec has a reputation for being cruel, being a very effective commander for the Helghast and for also being one of the main obstacles that prevented ISA from advancing into Pyrrhus. He was, for a reason, the personal bodyguard of Autarch Scolar Visari and so Radec was awarded an ascension after he shot himself to prevent the ISA from capturing him and thus given the position of the Divine Enforcer.
• Radec for a while was the sole Helghast presence in the pantheon and was relegated to working as a mercenary until the Helghast Army joined as a whole, and so did the nation of Helghan and its glorious leader, Scolar Visari. Radec never admitted it but he was overjoyed to see his men and superior become deities in their own right.
• Radec received an offer to join GUAE once he ascended, Melkor met the Colonel and told what happened to Helghan following his and Visari's death. Enraged, he was convinced by Melkor to work for GUAE in the meantime while the latter managed to get the trust of the Helghast so once they saw Radec on his side, they would undoubtably join his side.
  • However, while having appreciated the ascension of the Helghan troops, Radec wasn't entirely sold on the GUAE given that he had a hard time following anyone that wasn't Autarch Visari. So, Melkor, having witnessed Visari's charisma, decided to arrange his ascension and sway him to his side. He succeeded, and the moment Visari showed as one of GUAE's heads, Radec and the Helghast followed suit. They will serve him without question.
• While he is ok with working for the Grand United Alliance of Evil, Radec has one rule he made upon ascension in the Pantheon: Never, even under circumstances, will he ever team up with Starscream ever. According to him, Starscream is one of the examples of "a failed supervillain" and he is disgusted at what the Decepticon has done to his own comrades. He loathes him to even the point that he considers him a personal enemy of his.
• His loyalty lies first to the Helghast Empire and it's unlikely he will ever turn on his comrades. This was proven when Nyarlathotep and Chakravatin attempted to test Radec by sending him into combat against unknown foes, who were later revealed to be members of Radec's personal guard. This infuriated the Hound of Visari to no end, and as a counter measure prepared the 501st and the Helghast Army in battling the ones that almost tricked him and their respective armies. Darth Vader has agreed to loan resources to Radec's endeavour, especially after both armies became close allies.
• Concerning other generals and commanders, he is close to Selvaria Bles given that she share the same devotion towards his men and leader, even to a point Radec would never get attached to. He also praised her combat prowess and tactical knowledge, and while Selvaria returns the sentiment in a way, the manner in which sometimes Radec executes his own men for the smallest of infractions rubs her the wrong way. She also works occassionally with the Helghast as well.

• During the dead start of Halloween, the urban legend of Candyman began spreads through the temples with many gods gossiping of his existence. One decided to test the legend for themselves by calling out his name to a mirror five times. Sure enough, Candyman appeared and gutted him and alerted the Pantheon of his existence.
• Though it is required that his name is called to a mirror five times for him to kill people, it appears that he despises people that tries to deny his existence. Because he is a ghost born of an urban legend, he requires people's belief of his existence to remain in the mortal world. Though that tries to deny his existence are often the one killed or cause collateral damage just to prove his existence, as he did to Helen Lyle.
• Candyman respects Bloody Mary, another creature born of an urban legend. In fact, Candyman's MO is practically like Bloody Mary since they need someone chanting their name in a mirror a number of times in order to make their attack.
• Because of his love for Caroline Sullivan, he often stalks those that easily reminds him of her. It was very convenient that his targets included Helen Lyle, who resembled her lover, and Annie Tarrant and Caroline McKeever, who is actually his descendants.
  • Some people pitied him because his only "crime" was falling in love with a white woman at a time when racism was precedent. Even Candyman shed a tear a bit when he is reminded of his death.
• The Sumaru City Persona Cities dread his existence as he is a killer born of an urban legend, with the widespread belief of him keeping his existence in the Pantheon.

• The best tasting fried food is subjective though one will find it quite hard to not think of the Colonel himself during that discussion. An iconic figure, his legacy of Kentucky-styled cooking cemented his status in the world of fast food. Ascended to show the Pantheon how real fried food is made.
• The Colonel has had a hard life before starting his restaurants. He had many failed business ventures before making his fried chicken recipe of eleven herbs and spices. Since then, he’s been a a brand symbol even after his death, but in the Pantheon proper he treats any misadventures he was portrayed doing as what actually happened, regardless of their ridiculousness.
  • Despite having created his company with the best intentions to sell high quality food, he didn’t have the best of relations with his company especially after it was acquired by the bigger one. The Colonel would always say about the food being served being below subpar, going to restaurants himself and lambasting employees if the food is not up to his standard. He complained so much publicly that Sanders actually got into legal trouble for it. After his departure from his business, he and his wife started a hotel that sells food with original recipes at its restaurant. If they won’t listen to him, he might as well do it itself.
• No, he did not achieve an actual colonel rank in the military. It’s a rather hectic story where a business rival tried going on a killing spree at the gas station Sanders was employed at. Apparently the guy thought his business was getting screwed over after the sign was changed to redirect traffic to the station. Sanders was awarded the title of Kentucky colonel due to being present when the guy came in and killed a fellow employee. Was commissioned the title again by the his friend who was the governor. Sanders took the title proudly as his current dressing is still based upon that title.
• If there is anything Sanders hates more, it’s laziness. He believes that by working through thick and thin, you’ll be able to find success even if it isn’t what you intended. Thinks the entire process is cheapened if people take the shorter way to do things. Has allies himself with Meta Knight to get those lazy people to do something. Attempts to get slackers like Yoh Asakura to do things like work at a KFC. That’s an idea with no Product Placement behind it once so ever.
  • Is rather conflicted on Robbie Rotten. The man wants everyone to be lazy but somehow goes through extreme lengths to make sure they are. Quite a paradox indeed.
• Made friends with several fellow cooks who believe in making others good meals as well. While many of them are opposed to fast food, they do recognize that frying food is still an legitimate cooking style. They respect Sanders advocating serving quality food and has invited him as a judge in several cooking contests.
• Naturally a rival to Ronald McDonald as the businesses they represented are competing up until now. Their rivalry though is a bit tamer than one would think, as Sanders and Ronald just want to bring happiness to consumers in peace. Doesn’t stop them from taking potshots at each other.
• Appreciates Spongebob for being a hard worker who’ll do anything to make who he serves happy. The same opinion cannot be said however for his boss, Mr. Krabs. Sanders thinks the crustacean will do the most heinous things for the a quick buck, actions which he lambasts. Plankton thought that maybe he could have the Colonel on his side but Sanders just said Plankton should work hard make his own recipe instead of trying to steal one himself.
• Actually is connected to the DC Comics multiverse, as he had to battle against his Evil Counterpart, Colonel Sunder. Colonel Sunder managed to recruit multiple villains to join his crime syndicate. The Colonel with the help of the Flash and Green Lantern, they were able to stop that. Plus, the Colonel managed to befriend a few of the villains who joined in, making them be temporary employees at KFC to make up for their evil actions.
  • Afterward, had to stop Colonel Sunder again who teamed up with another alternate Colonel, Colonel Grodd to take over The Multiverse. Pulling a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Sanders went in to gather of team of several different Colonels across dimensions to stop the two. Managed to defeat them rather easily thanks to their numbers.
  • Somehow was also named an honorary Green Lantern as well. Helped Hal Jordon stop Larfleeze from stealing hordes of chicken sandwiches in a rather peaceful matter by showing the Orange Lantern on how to run his own KFC restaurants. Sanders is somehow of the few people Larfleeze is amicable towards thanks to this. Larfleeze still isn’t sharing his chicken sandwiches though.
  • Rejoiced upon seeing heroes he was helped out by were in the Pantheon. Vice versa, was pretty peeved that Gorilla Grodd and Reverse-Flash were here after hearing of their terribleness. Sanders has sworn to stand beside the Justice League despite not being exactly a superhero himself to much applause.
• Particularly a beloved figure in Japan, where it’s tradition to eat his chicken at the holiday season. As humbled as Sanders is about this, he is quite unsure on how to feel about this fact. Sure, he likes the thought of them enjoying his food but believes Christmas should be about spending time with loved ones. Every Japanese person in the Pantheon comes up to him for an autograph, to which the Colonel is happy to give anyhow.
• Apparently is in a Dating Sim. No, really. During cooking school, Sanders’ cooking was so powerful, it gave everyone who ate it orgasms. Thanks to this rather... strange fact Sanders befriended Soma, a fellow cook who could make others taste buds explode in happiness. Also Hisao Nakai, who he recommended NOT to eat any KFC meals thanks to his heart condition.
• Absolute horrified by the Cheetos chicken sandwich his company managed to make. The thought of it made of the Colonel puke.

Yeah, it’s suggestion time for me. Also wonder if we should pull anything from Biblical Motifs since we sparsely use them
