Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Repost of the Fawful Rework

Fawful, God of Intentional Engrish for Funny (Gerakobittsu)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fawful_bis.png
  • Demigod (Intermediate God as Dark Fawful)
  • Symbol: A flag of his face, with emphasis on his glasses and teeth
  • Theme Music: His Name Is Fawful, Fawful is Here, Dark Fawful in battle.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • [tup]s 3(kingvideogames, Weird Warrior, Crownless Mimic) Ascension date: 6/15
  • Portfolio: Badass Bookworm, Dragon Ascendant, Gadgeteer Genius, comparative speech patterns, "I have fury!", Ensemble Dark Horse, saying "doom" a lot, Squishy Wizard, putting his symbol everywhere out of egotism, Not-So-Harmless Villain
  • Domains: Language, Confusion, Memes
  • Herald: Midbus
  • Follower: Fawful's Minion
  • Allies: Dr. Eggman, Antasma, GIR, Porky Minch, Kefka Palazzo
  • Enemies: Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Bowser Jr., The Koopalings, The Toads, E. Gadd, Nostalgia Critic, Linkara
  • Opposed by: All Mooks, particularly those of Super Mario Bros., Erinys, The Vivid Team
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with: Dimentio
  • Sitcom Archnemesis: Nero
  • Out of all the foes that threatened the Mushroom Kingdom, Fawful stands out as one of the...oddest. Starting out as the witch Cackletta's lackey, Fawful would constantly get in the way of the Mario Bros. during their quest to save the Beanbean Kingdom, spouting utter nonsense during each encounter. Even after the demise of his boss, Fawful still persisted; laying low as a merchant during the Shroob invasion until rising up as a Big Bad in his own right. This entailed spreading the Blorb virus, takeover of Bowser's Castle and attempt to harness the power of the Dark Star to wreak havoc on the Mushroom Kingdom.
  • It was during this event that the gods quickly recognized just how utterly nonsensical his speech patterns and idioms were; making his ascension under Intentional Engrish for Funny a no brainer.
  • Surprisingly, Fawful's speech is far more comprehensible whenever he speaks in Japanese, in which he only adds "~Fururururu!" to the end of his sentences.
  • While he's earned the ire of the entire Mushroom Kingdom, Mario, Luigi, and King Bowser are on the top of Fawful's Fink-Rat List. The mere mention of those three in any context is enough to give him fury. He's currently plotting another scheme to get his revenge on them.
  • Fawful has earned the ire of every Mook in the Pantheon after forcibly brainwashing all of Bowser's minions into serving him twice.
  • Although he prefers staying in his standard form, Fawful still has the ability to transform into Dark Fawful if needed.
  • With their burning hatred for their respective good guys, combined with their own technological prowess, Fawful and Dr. Eggman have become good friends. It helps that they both have experience using evil primordial beings for their own gain.
    • Similarly, he's formed an alliance with Antasma, since they both hate Bowser. Though Antasma is hesitant to team up with Fawful, especially after hearing how Fawful coveted the Dark Star.
    • While one would think that Fawful would also get along with Dimentio, due to their shared grudge against the Bros. and Bowser, their massive egos put themselves at odds with each other; both of them wanting a world in their image. While they do maintain a tentative alliance, they're both waiting for an opportunity to stab the other in the back.
  • With his tendency to put his face on every Mook under his command and all of his inventions, as well as his creating plays made to honor himself, Fawful stands as one of the most egotistical deities in the Pantheon.
    • Speaking of ego, Fawful has found himself clashing with Nero over who's the better stage performer. Of course, both ignore the fact they could only get an audience for their shows through brainwashing and kidnapping respectively.
  • He has managed to hit it of quite well with other rpg villains, such as Porky Minch and Kefka, namely due to them being fellow egomaniacal Dragon Ascendants with a perchance for destruction. His relationship with the later isn't hurt by how much their characters were transformed overseas and became more popular because of it.
  • He's also seems to enjoy GIR's company; greatly enjoying his Doom Song. GIR meanwhile, enjoys Fawful's company due to his eccentricities reminding him a lot of Zim. Despite this, Fawful is uninterested in working with Zim, seeing him as too chaotic even for him.
  • Erinys would like to remind everyone that despite "Fury" being one of her possible names, Fawful indeed does not own her.
  • Has no idea why the Vivid Team accuses him of abusing his minions, considering the amount of respect he has for his right-hand man, Midbus. When they pointed out how he enslaved Bowser's Koopa Troop, he merely brushed it off considering that they were never his minions to begin with.
  • The Nostalgia Critic and Linkara are extremely wary of him, due to his eccentricities and choice in eyewear being very reminiscent of their long time foe, Doctor Insano.
  • I have fury!

He's mostly synonymous with forbidden knowledge and befitting that he's easily the most Eldritch out of all the Daedric Princes in appearance and presence. Though Affable, he is still very ruthless when it comes to collecting knowledge and is not above tossing aside his followers once they have exhausted their use to him. The Prince of Fate is also quite manipulative as well, having nearly seduced the Nords into becoming Aldmer in the past and orchestrating the events behind Dragonborn not only gaining the Skaal's knowledge that they hid from him, but also getting rid of his champion Miraak (who plotted against him) and getting a new one in the form of the Dragonborn whether they like it or not. The Dragonborn does admit the benefits of serving Mora is absolute freedom should they not try to turn on him and free unlimited Skill Point Resets.
  • The Daedra Lord's arrival was noticed when a hidden path in the House of Knowledge was revealed one day. A tunnel, seemingly spiraling down into what many would assume is the House of Knowledge's very core. Books upon books who's origins traced back to Tamriel were stacked large enough to become bookcases of their own, and the very end of it all lead to a shrine in his grotesque image. The person/people who reached it, whoever they were, found themselves meeting a "Wretched Abyss" explaining who he was and how he would soon take root in the Pantheon as one of the Three Seekers of Knowledge. Perhaps in part to the Dragonborn's ascension, Hermaeus Mora is the first of the Daedra Lords to have made his stay and rooted himself into the Pantheon. Soon following him were Hircine, Sheogorath, Molag Bal, and even his enemy Vaermina, but they came only long after him.
    • He is said to be a "sibling" to the unascended Daedric Prince Mephala who's quite obsessed with interfering with the affairs of mortals purely for his/her own amusement. By association with them Mora is vaguely connected to the Morag Tong and has some connections to the House of Killers and Assassins, even if he doesn't really interact with them all that much. Some suspect Hermaeus Mora is responsible for bringing the Ebony Blade, Mephala's Daedric Artifact infamous for its ability to sow strife, into the Pantheon.
  • Hermaeus Mora's realm is the one and only Apocrypha: A place where towers and walls of books go as far as the eye could see and beyond, where pages upon pages fly in the wind, forever haunted by ghosts doomed to search for knowledge, and is surrounded a sea of writhing masses of acidic tentacles. Its "librarians" shall we say are the faithful Cthulhumanoid Seekers, who don't take kindly to any outsiders skulking around the shelves. Accompanying them in guarding Apocrypha depths are the Lurkers, titanic brutes with the strength to match that contrast the more magical Seekers.
    • The most famous item attributed to the Prince of Fate is the Oghma Infinium. Written by Xarxes and wrapped in the skins of various elven races to account for his favorite accomplishment in times past it is able to grant the reader great power before disappearing from their possession. Presumably, this to prevent them from learning too much. Lesser known are the Black Books which accomplishes a similar purpose. Though it isn't quite as straightforward for the reader is taken to Apocrypha and brave its dangers to get what they want. Dying there isn't a danger, but becoming mad is.
  • Despite having in the Pantheon for quite some time, having been here long enough before the subsequent fall of Madoka, Mora seemed to have layed in the midst of all that has happened in the Pantheon. And besides a larger influx of deities, by the time the reformation of the GUAL came around some people have actually forgotten Hermaeus Mora's presence despite his role as one of the Three Seekers of Knowledge. His silence was broken when he had one unfortunate god impaled by his tentacles for supposedly trying to usurp his position as a Pantheon God and right after that Mora appeared to a recently recovered and ascended Miraak to taunt him for his failures. Enraged, Miraak proceeded to take his anger out on the House of Knowledge before Histoire kicked him out and banned the First Dragonborn.
    • Right after that Histoire called the Daedric Prince out for a) Flaking out on them for a long time and b) Causing some widespread damage to the House for no reason other than to spite the First Dragonborn. He responded by saying he was merely using his godhood to seek out more knowledge beyond his realm than what the Pantheon had to offer. Plus, the fact that he's mocking of Miraak was justified considering the sheer arrogance in that he could successfully conspire against him in his own realm.
  • In spite of the evidence to the contrary, most notable being his fierce rivalry with any genuine omniscient being, Mora still puts up the all-knowing facade in the Pantheon when dealing with seekers of knowledge. Then again, even if he isn't omniscient it's still very likely he knows much, much more than the average Pantheon goer. As stated earlier Mora has been utilizing his Pantheonic godhood for the purpose of extensively looking into the many different worlds to further his vast library realm. He's willing to deal with such findings, but those wise enough ought to know restraint and not take their chances lest ones weak mind snaps in two. However, to the more steeled and stalwart of adventurers the knowledge gained and braved would prove invaluable.
    • In her quest to know more about the Pantheon itself Meteora has landed in the unfortunate hands (tentacles? claws?) of the Golden Eye and though details on the incident were sparse, the bottom line is that she doesn't want anything to do with him ever again. Deckard Cain would of been yet another victim to the Daedric Prince if it were not for the efforts of the Nephalems coming just on time. Mora cursed the adventurers' names but has not made another move on them or the Last Horadrim since then.
    • Though the attempted thefts Ice King's Ninjas of the Ice caused quite the stir with one attempt after another, it is said that the Daedric Prince had already long since peered into its contents. Likely, he plans to use these as gifts to manipulate those with enough greed for it for future use in the Pantheon. There're apparently enough ninjas left wanting whatever is written in said pages for Hermaeus Mora to utilize.
  • By principle, Hermaeus Mora is in direct opposition to Adam Conover and the reasoning is actually pretty plain as day. Hermaeus Mora, while willing to deal with his knowledge, ultimately wants to horde it to become omniscient whereas Adam Conover is willing to give it all away to better people through pointing out the various lies and misconceptions common throughout everyday life that is also often taken for granted. Adam refers to what he does as "ruining" but he does what he does under the idea that it is "always better to know".
  • If the shapeless form, tentacles, and madness-inducing books somehow didn't get the message across, Hermaeus Mora's concept and design takes great inspiration from the Cthulhu Mythos and as such he has quite the relationships with its deities. He regards Azathoth in a friendly manner, and has been known to commune with Shub-Niggurath, Cthulhu, and especially Yog-Sothoth due to the various similarities they share with each other. Meanwhile, the Daedric Prince is instead seen as a rival to Nyarlathotep.
    • And speaking of rivalries, the Daedra Lord has a fierce one regarding all four members of the Old Ones. Originally, it started with N'Zoth simply for the fact that he was known to have some partnership with Vaermina but overtime this came to include the group as a whole. The reasoning for this could be traced back to similarities, namely the knowledge that drives people mad which they have been known to be involved with, but the more bigger issue arises in their goals. That being, their drive to corrupt anything and everything, which is very much capable of standing in the way of Mora's very own plots in the future. Molag Bal was much in the same once, though at least the Planemeld was one incident.
  • The young Futaba Sakura has nothing but contempt for the Daedric Prince considering her own mother was killed for her research whereupon it was covered up as a suicide and that she was to blame for it. Even if traumatizing someone like that is more up Mephala's or Molag Bal's alley, she wouldn't find it out of the question for him to do the same as Shido did and as such warned her fellow Phantom Thieves of the threat he poses considering the Prince's interests in Mementos. Hermaeus Mora bluntly agreed that he would of offed her for daring to hide such secrets but he also stated that all their attempts to bar him from the cognitive world is only delaying the inevitable. As far as he's concerned, he doesn't need to get to them if he dare so wants a piece of the cognitive world. Remember one of his titles: The Inevitable Knower.
  • It was found that in another time and place Hermaeus Mora was, in his desire to obtain the vast knowledge of Hyrule, directly responsible for the complete destruction of the entire kingdom. Although he has yet to do so here, he has earned the ire of Link, Zelda and Ganondorf because, with his obsession of obtaining and hoarding knowledge, burning Hyrule to the ground was something Hermaeus Mora was very capable of doing. Because of this, he is the only deity that Link and Ganondorf will align against should they feel that he poses enough of a threat to Hyrule, as Ganondorf simply desires to rule Hyrule rather than completely destroy it.
  • He's constantly pestered by the perversion potential in his use of tentacles ever since the way he disposed of Storn Crag-Strider and Miraak was made known to the public. And we really do mean constantly. Spearheading this annoyance are Howard "Buckshot" Holmes and ZONE.
The riddle unsolveable. The door unopenable. The book unreadable. The question unanswerable.

Standard repost of Theon Greyjoy. Also, Rusty will be going up in a few days

Theon Greyjoy, God of Conflicted Cultural Conformity (Theon Turncloak, Theon Kinslayer, The Prince of Winterfell, A Ghost in Winterfell, Reek)

  • Votes: 3(Bazzardreturns, louisent31, The Wikia Editor)
  • Date of ascension: 17 June(repost 14 June)
  • Adopted from: Argonian Lorekeeper
  • House: Cultural Values (House of Personality)
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: A transparent image of the House Stark sigil (a grey direwolf on an ice-white field), superimposed over the House Greyjoy sigil (a golden kraken on a black field)
    • For his time as Reek, a mutilated hand
  • Theme Song: What is Dead May Never Die, Pay the Iron Price and I Paid the Iron Price
    • For his time as Reek, Reek
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Born into a Pirate Culture, The Most Northern Ironborn, Being Torn Between Greyjoy and Stark, "Well Done, Son" Guy, former Womanizer, Formerly Skilled With a Bow, Asshole Victim Who Became Sympathetic, Having His Pride Brutally Destroyed, Subject to Cold-Blooded Torture and Mind Rape, Being Castrated, Believing Himself to be Reek, The Atoner, Redemption Equals Death
  • Domains: Identity, Cultures, Seafaring, Krakens, Hunting (formerly includes Lust and Betrayal)
  • Herald: Jeyne Poole
  • Superior: George R.R. Martin
  • Interests: Omastar, The Kraken, Cthulhu
  • Respects: Riza Hawkeye
  • Allies: Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, Blooper, Zinogre, Great Grey Wolf Sif, Octodad, Ika Musume, Squidward Tentacles, The Inklings, Princess Anna, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Zuko, The GUAG Ministry Of Atonement, Lilo and Stitch
  • On speaking terms with: Wolfgang Schreiber, Vegeta, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu
  • Enemies: Ramsay Bolton, The Night King , Euron Greyjoy (his uncle), Vilgax, AM, torturers, Big Brother, Griffith, Infinite, Ozai
  • Opposed by: All ascended members of House Stark (but especially Robb), Gods who hate traitors
  • Theon Greyjoy is the only surviving son of Balon Greyjoy, leader of the Ironborn. He was taken and fostered by the Starks after the failed Greyjoy Rebellion, and after Ned's execution was given a chance to reunite with his biological family. Though a Greyjoy, his has many values of the North that has gotten him the disdain of his fellow Ironborn. The desire to fit in led him to turn on the Starks, only to eventually be captured and broken apart. Despite his arrogance, he is rather insecure.
  • The Ironborn worship the Drowned God, and his family is associated with squid imagery. The iconography might be inspired by the Kraken or Cthulhu, who have a passing interest on the Greyjoy. Theon is more for keeping his distance, but he does seem to get along with other cephalopod deities. Squidward pities what he went through, finally realizing there was someone much more unlucky than him.
  • After being tortured by Ramsay Bolton, broken down completely and struggling to repair himself, Theon is no longer the arrogant turncoat and wants to better himself. For this, he has joined the Ministry of Atonement to see if he can overcome his sins, and find a place in the world. Darth Vader and Zuko were most interested in this, Vader having suffered severe burns and dismemberment as price for his arrogance, Zuko being a former heir to a total dick that eventually became a better man.
  • Doesn't think he's worthy of being anywhere near the House of Family or Friendship for turning on the Starks. With the latter, he respects Riza Hawkeye for being a moral anchor for her friend Roy Mustang, the way he wished he had one himself. Lilo surprised him with a speech that You Are Better Than You Think You Are; she has helped redeem almost all 629 dangerous genetic experiments Jumba made, she knows a thing or two about believing someone can always find a family and a place where they belong. Theon found her adorable and hugged her for showing him such kindness.
  • Stays the hell away from torturers in general, given the horrific abuse he underwent at the hands of Ramsay. AM believes he can do far, far worse to Theon. Theon doesn't want to be associated with Vilgax due to his squid symbolism, because of how dangerous he is. And he doesn't want to be anywhere near Firelord Ozai because of how much of an asshole Balon Greyjoy was to him.
  • Finds himself Not So Different to Griffith, at least pre-Eclipse. Both were cocksure and confidant, yet their dreams came crashing down and they found themselves tortured. Of course, Theon's great betrayal preceded his fall, and as horrific as the Break the Haughty experience was he improved his attitude. Griffith ended up sacrificing his men to escape as a demon god. Also, his brutal rape of Casca reminds him of how Ramsay forced him to watch Jeyne Poole/Sansa Stark being brutally raped by Ramsay.
  • In the past, he would've been an ally of Prince Hans. They're charming, arrogant princes who have inferiority complexes. In Hans' case, it stems from being the last in line to a bunch of princes in a Royally Screwed Up family. Of course, now they don't care for each other-Hans reminds Theon too much of his bad habits. That, and Theon is protective of Princess Anna, as she reminds him of Sansa.
  • Was once very appealing to women, and had no problem sleeping around. He'd be one to visit the lust sub-houses, but with his humbling and castration he's not interested. Especially because he can't bare to see Robb again due to the guilt and shame of betraying him and Winterfell. Sometimes he can be seen conversing with Wolfgang Schreiber, who suffered severe trauma through castration. However this turned him spiteful against the world, so it's more of a "I understand your pain" kind of relationship.
  • Converses with Vegeta and Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu. The former is due to having their pride tested and how they were made a ward against their will, though Ned Stark was much kinder than Frieza could even try. Theon soon ended up finding Infinite detestable, since his bruised pride and monstrous actions basically amounts to being pissed that Shadow beat him and called him weak.
  • His fate in the books is yet to be written. In the show, he sacrificed himself and was impaled by the Night King to save Bran. It gave Arya the precious time to kill the Night King and end the threat of the White Walkers once and for all. As far as Theon is concerned, it's the best death he could have, as the Starks have finally accepted him.
  • "Theon. My name is Theon. You have to know your name."

Rusty, God of Chronic Pet Killing

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pokemon_rusty_5.png

  • Symbol: A wooden, poorly made sign with "Rusty" on it
  • Alignment: Chaotic Stupid alternate self is True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Anti-Role Model, Chronic Pet Killer, Utterly Stupid, Utterly Insufferable, Dangerous Stupidity, Ego As Large As His Incompetence, Ambiguous Innocence, Nerd Glasses, 0% Approval Rating, Poke-Abuse Due To Supreme Idiocy, High Hopes, Zero Talent (Except As A Deli Worker), Iron Butt Monkey
  • Domains: Idiocy, (Unintentional) Animal Abuse, Incompetence
  • Interests: The Grand United Alliance of Evil (to an extent)
  • Allies: Red Mage, Glitchy's Mario
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with: Burgerpants
  • Enemies: Every single Pokémon and good-aligned trainer (especially Red), the entire House of Beast, pet-owners, pets, Demon Tamers (a.k a. SMT humans), and all Digidestined, The Pantheonic Time Police, Reuben, Undyne, the Adoring Fan
  • Opposes: The House of Chefs and Establishments
  • Pokemon is about improving yourself, training to be the best and caring for your Pokemon. Rusty...isn't that kind of trainer. While he has ambitions of being the best that ever was like Red, he is absolutely horrible at raising and training Pokemon. To the point of not just being a danger to his Pokemon's well-being, but everyone else. He does excel at being a deli cook, but doesn't want to.
  • A mix of Lack of Empathy and sheer idiocy has led Rusty to abuse and kill just about every Pokemon he's had. The only survivors(if you can call it that) are Pikachu the Beedrill (who is consumed with complete hatred from what Rusty did to him as as Kakuna) and Peanut Butter the Perfect Bidoof (who was bred far too successfully). Every Pokemon despises him. Every Pokemon trainer despises him. And Red most of all. Rusty thinks they can't appreciate his "genius".
  • While part of the Beast Handlers, it is only due to a technicality of his title. Every member of the Beast house wants to stay away from him, and he's considered a disgrace by his own house. It's telling that even Team Rocket (the organization as a whole, not just the trio) thinks he's an awful trainer.
  • The Adoring Fan is deeply disturbed by Rusty as while he's quite inept, he does have a heart and doesn't cause such disasters as Rusty does. Undyne has repeatedly told him off for throwing Pokemon at her in an attempt to win a Pokemon battle, and appalled by how he abuses the art of battle. It was unanimously agreed on that Rusty should be given a 100 feet restraining order from not just every Pokemon, but every Mon period.
  • Red Mage actually seemed to be able to tolerate Rusty despite his incredibly incompetence, though that's probably down to how he's also totally inept. Or the "animal husbandry" and how he handles mons. He's been giving advice to Rusty on how to breed Pokemon, which made every single one of them shudder. Rusty is also friends with Glitchy's Mario, due to being a comical and completely insane manchild who ruins things around him.
  • The GUAE was interested in Rusty's capacity for ruination, though it's important to note that Rusty isn't truly evil, he's just too stupid to know better. However it's mainly as an agent of chaos to trouble for the Grand United Alliance of Good, not because they want him. Most avoid him out of Pragmatic Villainy. The sadists of the alliance find him a source of amusement.
  • Despite how awful they are towards animals, Ghetsis Harmonia and Cruella De Vil want nothing to do with him. This is entirely down to Pragmatic Villainy, of course. Ghetsis balks at his sheer idiocy when it comes to using Pokemon, and he should be fostering a sense of fear and obedience to force people to make him regarded as the superior trainer. Cruella believes he should save that cruelty for using it to get resources from the Pokemon.
  • Knows absolutely nothing about Pokemon, but he is an exceptional good cook. However he thinks becoming a Pokemon Master is his destiny, and doesn't care for the Chefs and Establishments sub-house since they keep trying to keep him there at what he's good at and not be a menace to the rest of the pantheon. Reuben was disturbed to see the chaos he brought instead of focus on sandwich making.
  • The Pantheonic Time Police has blacklisted him not just failing to Set Right What Once Went Wrong, only to do everything he did the exact same way. This led to the creation of an alternate Rusty who worked in his father's deli instead of trying to become a Pokemon master, and inadvertently managed to reform Peanut Butter. That version went on adventures with Peanut Butter while the original Rusty was imprisoned to work in the deli. Unfortunately, he's somehow managed to escape and end up in the pantheon.

Rusty's going to be the very worst, like no-one ever was. Theon knows what's dead may never die, though the pantheon complicates things

Do you guys approve of the following?

  • SCP-2682, The Idiotic Deity (House of Divine Behavior, Blue-and-Orange Morality)-a deity from an alien dimension, nothing it knows means much in our universe, got itself stuck on flypaper, and ate itself upon realizing it's a strawberry. It's even called The Blind Idiot
  • Caesar Clown, God of Deadly Gas (House of Toxicity, Chaotic Evil)-Caesar Clown's Gas-Gas Fruit allows him to manipulate gas in its many forms. He weaponizes this by adding toxic or other dangerous gases by himself, and can remove the oxygen in the air to smother fires and suffocate his opponents
  • Lars Fillmore, God of Temporal Duplicates -the Time Code causes the past version of someone to become a doomed duplicate when the present version interferes. Lars, who's Fry's main rival is revealed to be a duplicate as a result of the Time Code, something Lars himself didn't know for 12 years. Which Time sub-house would Temporal Duplication go in?
