  • Kirby franchise:
    • Adventure: Zykan is a thug working with Talzo who uses chivalry to disguise his cruelty. Despite being an "honorable knight", Zykan frequently uses underhanded tactics such as turning Saia into a statue and threatening to smash her if the KAS members didn't surrender. He later kills Keito by stabbing him while his back was turned, even though his orders were to not kill anyone. When Talzo protests this, Zykan shows no remorse and simply knocks him out for getting in his way. After Kiina refuses to fight due to her pacifism, Zykan forcefully reprograms her to be much more aggressive. He then attacks HAND and massacres most of their members to get to the leader, Yiel, so he can force him to finish brainwashing Kiina. When his right-hand man Whirr is wounded in battle, Zykan leaves him to die rather than fix his injury. In the final confrontation against the KAS, Zykan kills his creation, "Soo", for talking to the KAS rather than fighting them. Remorseless and needlessly cruel to his teammates and his enemies alike, Zykan darkens the mood in an otherwise lighthearted webcomic.
    • Unnamed Kirby fan comic by Nitro: This interpretation of Zero is far worse than its canon counterpart. Ordering Gooey to be disposed of because it sees it as weak and useless, it personally discards of any positive emotions it could use for good. When it turns out Gooey wasn't killed, it orders a Dark Matter to hunt down every living thing on Popstar and kill Gooey, and when this Dark Matter can't bring itself to do this and falls to Kirby, Zero subjects him to a more painful death by giving it a full range of emotions, due to feeling sympathy for Gooey. A notably different interpretation of the character, it purposefully removes any sympathy it could have for anything, and thus for itself, so it can carry on killing.

Eventually, Lewis helps Estefa take over the Off the Hook! building with a mind-controlled Marina, and when Isa stops him from murdering people in Octo Valley, he forces his soldiers to kill her, only for them to snap under his abuse and open fire on him. In his last moments, Lewis shows no hesitation in brutally turning on them, taunting them about everything.
    • Inkopolis Chaos trilogy:
      • Inkopolis Chaos 1 & Inkopolis Chaos 3: Scarlet Spiker starts as a typical bully before becoming far worse. Scarlet first attempts to beat Samuel in a forest, but when this fails, she gets Samuel, Natalie, Luke, and Sylvia framed for beating an innocent Inkling into a coma, so she can win the tournament without having to try due to no opponents. When Scarlet is exposed, she kidnaps Natalie and brutally tortures her purely out of spite, leaving her with PTSD. Upon being confronted, Scarlet attempts to kill the protagonists and have them respawn in a cage so she can kill them multiple times, even threatening to cut Samuel and Natalie's hearts out. A year later, Obsidian bails Scarlet out and forces her to work for her. Later, Scarlet shoots Sylvia with a tranquilizer and gets her taken to a concentration camp, where she ended up traumatized. Scarlet goes on a killing spree in Inkopolis, killing 11 innocent people in cold blood just for fun, including a child. Scarlet later reveals she plans to kill Obsidian after she succeeds, and destroy the peace between Inklings and Octolings by creating a race war for years.
      • Inkopolis Chaos 2 & "A Burden To Bear" one-shot: Magentark Clover is the older brother of Cyalux, who causes many of the events in the story despite being long dead. Portrayed as a violent xenophobe, Magentark gaslit his younger brother and fed him lies about Octolings to get him to hate them as well. Magentark stole a new weapon, framing the innocent teenage Octoling Natalie—causing her to be on the run and homeless—and attempted to murder as many Octolings as possible, unwilling to have them live on the surface. Despite being killed by Ruby in self-defense, his gaslighting turned Cyalux into a monster and formed the Terrorist group Octobusters, hell-bent on separating Inklings and Octolings permanently.
      • Inkopolis Chaos 3: Lieutenant Rebecca Obsidian is the cruel, ruthless leader of the Octarians. When she got to Inkopolis, she was not accepted by the Inklings, which made her kill two Inklings, and bring one back to Octo Valley, torturing it in front of everyone. When everyone is disgusted by this act, Obsidian goes on a killing spree, murdering 50 people, most of whom were innocents. Eventually, Octavio made her an elite and later a lieutenant. Obsidian then helps Tartar bring Octolings who were trying to desert to be either sanitized or blended. Obsidian becomes the new leader of the Octarians and enforces concentration camps for Inklings and Octolings that she captured, and has the ones who refuse to work or try to escape either tortured or killed via slowly dissolving them in water. When a camp is liberated, Obsidian executes thousands of Octolings to try and teach the rest a lesson. Upon confronting the Squidbeak Splatoon, she grabs Jade and throws her into a flooded ravine, which causes Ruby to sacrifice herself to save her. In the climax, Obsidian tries to destroy all life on the surface and recreate it in her image by launching 15 missiles to blow it up.
  • Starbound fanfics Crystallic's Starbound Trilogy:
    • The Black Nebula: Desert Tumbler is a dissociative, sadistic novakid outlaw, who treats life as a game to kill as many people as possible. Over the years, Desert has killed thousands of people with no signs of stopping, even collecting some of the corpses to dump out of a ship to show off. When first encountered, Desert attacked a village twice, the second time hiring outlaws to join in on the killing, and detonated a bomb full of hostages inside in front of Katsu Umino, all while taunting him for not saving them. Desert later reveals that he was Ethyl Countrisyde's partner in crime, where he manipulated him into a life of crime, before betraying him for refusing to kill people without reason, being the reason why Ethyl is who he is today. Mika Aikawa would later free Desert from prison if he would help her out with committing genocide on florans, which he accepts so that he could kill more people. During the climax, Desert tries to stop the heroes from de-activating the weapons, willing to let an entire star system be destroyed in the process for the sake of a "new high score" on his kill count, not minding if they were just assists due to the opportunity for that many deaths, all while shooting FEO agents due to being bored of Mika ordering him around.
    • Rise of the Stargazers: Xochtal Reklaw is a Stargazer Prophet, feigning loyalty to Kluex so he can gain wings in the afterlife. In the past, Xochtal has sacrificed thousands of grounded avians. In the story proper, Xochtal pretends to be a remorseful former priest, tricking his granddaughter and her friends into letting him join, while having Ezalco serve as a threat to focus on. Xochtal reveals his true colours when he gets the staff and tries to kill the Black Nebula, even crashing their ship. While they are down, he is revealed to be harvesting stardust from novakids by forcefully and painfully sucking it out, turning them into lifeless husks. Xochtal then begins his plan to wipe out all grounded avians to please Kluex, killing over 2 million of them. In the climax, Xochtal tortures Ethyl, Robin, and Lexie with hallucinations simply because he could, and upon defeat, attempts to murder the heroes one last time out of sheer spite.

    • Seven Wonders (link): Both members of the Big Bad Duumvirate, the Arch-Enemies of Samus and Zelda respectively, prove themselves to be equally evil:
      • Ridley proves himself to be just as monstrous as in canon. Ridley is the leader of the Space Pirates who have decimated many worlds in search of the Seven Wonders, including Samus's planet, which includes Ridley eating Samus's own mother, and Pikachu's forest. Ridley arrives in the land of Hyrule, nearly killing Zelda and teaming up with Ganondorf so that he can get the Triforce piece from him. When Ridley heads into space with Ganondorf, he sends the Space Pirates to the Kong's village looking for the Seven Wonders. The Space Pirates would wage a brutal battle that ends with many of the villagers being killed. When Ridley arrives in the Mushroom Kingdom, a battle breaks out that ends with Ridley badly injuring Samus and intending to brutally kill her.
      • Ganondorf is stripped of any of the positive traits of his canon counterpart. In the past, Ganondorf pretended to work with the Royal Family before betraying and killing most of them, then took over Hyrule, causing Zelda to go into hiding for 7 years. Ganondorf was killed and sealed away, but in the present, had willingly offered himself up as a vessel for Ridley coming into Hyrule for the chance to be resurrected. When Ridley is killed, Ganondorf uses his power to come back to flesh and uses Ridley's undead body as his slave in combat. Ganondorf would attack Hyrule again, using Ridley as a distraction to kidnap the king of Hyrule. Ganondorf threatens to murder the king if Zelda and Samus do not give him the wonders they have, then kills him when they refuse.
    • Brawl Web Video There Will Be Brawl:
      • Kirby, as befitting the work's tone, is no friendly puffball, as shown by his nickname, "The Coral Cannibal". Having been arrested for multiple murders before the story starts, Kirby is quickly established to be a dangerously intelligent maniac who takes glee in tormenting his victims. Driving the powerful gang leader Mewtwo insane with his preachings, Kirby purposely disrupted the power balance of the Mushroom Kingdom, turning it into a desolate and poverty-stricken land, before manipulating children into killing Mewtwo when he's done with him. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that every major character has been harmed by him, and Meta Knight even goes so far as to devote his life to guarding Kirby's cell. A diabolical master of psychology, Kirby pretends to help Peach before she disappears, the finale revealing that he gruesomely killed her and left her body on display for the Mario brothers to find.
      • Olimar, known exclusively here as "End of Days", is reimagined as a fanatical lunatic who hopes to bring about the annihilation of all life. A farmer of Pikmin who butchers and experiments on the little creatures to turn them into weapons that are used to kill innocents, End of Days amasses a blood cult that he uses to sacrifice victims in a sadistic torture rite. After a failed attempt to subject Mario and Falco to this fate, End of Days uses a Smash Ball to transform Mr. Game & Watch into its Final Smash of "the Oldest Ones", laughing in glee as the monstrosity goes on a killing spree. End of Days proclaims joy that the Oldest Ones will wipe out all life in the Mushroom Kingdom, and happily pronounces himself the prophet of his namesake: the end of all things.

After perfecting the respawn machine, Jules sells the machines to both of the Mann Brothers without their knowledge while using the hundreds of thousands of corpses to donate organs to the brothers to keep them alive for as long as possible, while hiring Jacques Morneau to cover up his crimes and kill anyone he needs.

  • Touhou Project Web Video Koishi Komeiji's Heart-Throbbing Adventure: While a lot of characters get Adaptational Villainy, these are the worst:
    • Watatsuki no Toyohime is the Lunarian princess in charge of the Moonlight Descent Ceremony and the one who manipulated the rays of the moon to make Gensokyo's residents become murderously crazy. Experimenting on the fairies of Gensokyo, Toyohime drives them to slaughter each other and has the survivors executed by Reisen II. Toyohime's plan culminates in Gensokyo's people being transformed into near-mindless kaiju monsters at the same time she has the Great Hakurei Barrier destroyed, forcing them out into the real world to rampage and terrorize human cities. Toyohime then leads the Lunarians in hunting the kaiju-fied Gensokyoans down so they'll appear as heroes to the humans and have their faith focused on them, allowing them to proceed with the final step of the Moonlight Descent Plan and transform Earth's population into satori creatures. Unlike her younger sister Yorihime, Toyohime is motivated by a simple disgust for humanity, and is heartless to the point where she doesn't even care when she learns of her sister's death.
    • Watatsuki no Yorihime is her older sister's co-conspirator in carrying out the Moonlight Descent Plan, and a deranged fanatic seeking to purge the Earth of impurity. While Toyohime manipulates a large wave of madness to head to Gensokyo, Yorihime personally travels there to stop Reimu from destroying the Great Hakurei Border, ensuring the madness passes through it and transforms Gensokyo's inhabitants into kaiju. When Reisen tries to reason her, Yorihime coldly kills her former pet. Once Gensokyo is destroyed and the kaiju are all forced into the real world, Yorihime spearheads the hunt for the kaiju, even murdering a defenseless and severely injured Flandre. When the preparations for the Moonlight Descent Ceremony are almost complete, Yorihime's only regret is that her "fun" was over too quickly.
    • Koakuma is the one carrying out the early stages of the Moonlight Descent Plan, having made a deal with the Watatsuki sisters to get Patchouli to herself in exchange for helping them. As part of the plan, Koakuma takes part in the Lunarian experiments that drive the fairies into slaughtering each other and uses her powers to cancel out their ability to respawn. She later preys on Flandre's insecurities to manipulate her into destroying the Great Hakurei Barrier, so the kaiju-fied Gensokyo residents will be forced out into the outside world where the Lunarians can hunt them. Kidnapping Patchouli, Koakuma rapes her and gleefully proclaims that Patchouli is all hers now that everyone else in Gensokyo is dead.
    • Reisen II is the Watatsuki sisters' ruthless assassin and enforcer. When Toyohime finishes her cruel experiments on the fairies of Misty Lake, Reisen II slaughters the fairies who survived as well as the good-intentioned Earth rabbits she and Toyohime tricked into helping them. • Undertale:
    • Comic Sins (link): Chara is the true mastermind behind the resets, and has been slowly manipulating Frisk throughout timelines to give them control of their body and powers. Upon achieving this goal, Chara slaughtered every monster they came across with the intentions of wiping out all of monsterkind. When Sans enters a different timeline to kill that version of Frisk, Chara uses the opportunity to kill their own adoptive father, Asgore. Encountering Sans and an alternate timeline incarnation of Frisk, Chara mocks the skeleton about how he chose a weak variant that doesn't have the same powers they have, before trying to kill the human, while also revealing that they killed Flowey. At the end of the day, Chara gives up on their goal and leaves the timeline, although they make it clear that they won't reset and that everyone they killed will stay dead, including Sans' brother Papyrus.
    • Frisk vs Chara, Undertale animation (link): Chara is the sadistic first human to have fallen into the Underground. After a successful Genocide Route done by Frisk—where, while Chara seemingly didn't take part to it, she did possess Frisk to kill Sans—Chara destroys the world and steals Frisk's soul, while also remorselessly killing her own adoptive brother. When Frisk reaches her again with W. D. Gaster's help, Chara fights the two, eventually killing Gaster and tormenting Frisk with the images of his dead friends throughout the fight. Eventually defeating the younger human, Chara decides she intends to destroy the world of Deltarune as well with Frisk's help.
    • Negativetale:
      • Asgore Dreemurr is reimagined as a ruthless misanthropic tyrant who seeks to dominate the human world along with his own. Transforming the underground into a hierarchy where only the strong can survive, when the first fallen human, Chara, falls into the underground and acts as if they hate humanity as much as he does, he takes them under his wing, planning to use them to cross onto the surface and achieve dominion over it. When Chara breaks down crying after Asgore forces them to execute several monsters who are considered weak, Asgore, in a fit of rage, murders them before forcing his son Asriel to absorb their soul, cross the barrier, and kill six more children. When Asriel fails, Asgore places a bounty on Asriel, now Flowey's, head, ordering him to be killed for his "injustice" before isolating himself away from the outside world out of shame for failing in his goals. In the present, Asgore has managed to corrupt the underground to a point of no return, with all of the monsters becoming horrible killers while he himself waits patiently for his next victim to come wandering in. When the human child Frisk comes in to face him, Asgore attempts to kill them in order to get the last push needed to break the barrier, only to be stopped and promptly killed by Flowey. In one last-ditch effort to secure victory, Asgore attempts to absorb Frisk's soul in order to take it over and use them to cross onto the surface, leaving Flowey having to regrettably kill them in order to stop him from accomplishing his goals.
      • Alphys is portrayed in a far more sinister light in this comic when in comparison to canon. A mad, egotistical scientist working as The Dragon to Asgore purely for her own personal gain, Alphys provides him with gadgets that allow him to turn live monsters into killing machines, with the determined Undyne being a victim of such, turning her into a mindless droid with no free will of her own. When Frisk enters the picture, Alphys begins to monitor them, studying and observing them to use for presumably malicious purposes. Upon the intervention of Mettaton, one of her rogue creations. Alphys would proceed to egg him on with insults and allowing him to be broadcasted all throughout the underground for the sole purpose of the audience insulting him to the point of ending his own life in one last desperate plea for fame, with her fully admitting to "partially" knowing the outcome of the stunt afterwards.
    • Nightmaretale side story Charalgamate: Origins: Chara's father was a pimp who forced Chara and three other children into prostitution. Viewing Chara only as merchandise, he would frequently beat them whenever they fought back against his clients. Angry at Chara's continued defiance, he threw them into confinement for three days as punishment. The traumatic experience he put Chara and the other children through was what gave rise to Chara's hostility toward other humans.
    • ULTRA!TALE (EP#1): Chara is portrayed as a far more malevolent entity than they are in canon. A spirit hell-bent on wiping out the underground, Chara, prior to the events of the story, had either assisted in or outright been the cause of Frisk massacring the entire underground. In the present, Chara absorbs Frisk's soul, taking over their body with plans to finish what they started. Killing Sans in a brutal fashion, when Asgore and Flowey come to help Sans in the fight by giving him the orange soul, Chara proceeds to violently murder both of them, despite presumably having family ties. When a now powered-up Sans manages to restrain them in order to try and get Frisk to reset, Chara gleefully reveals that Frisk had lost the ability to reset upon Chara absorbing their soul. Taking sadistic delight in the fact that they had screwed over any chance of Sans being able to save the underground, Chara prepares one last attack in order to finish him off, mockingly saying that he would be with his brother soon.

When Ellen manages to rewind time before her death, he tries to make her kill Viola again so he can once more devour her soul. When Ellen reveals the truth to Viola's father and swaps back with Viola, the Black Cat becomes a giant and kills Viola's father before attempting to do the same with Ellen and Viola, announcing his plans to one day wipe out humanity.
