Crystallic’s Starbound Trilogy is a collection of three Starbound fanfictions made by CrystallicWolf108.
- Starbound: The Black Nebula: Focuses on the origin of The Black Nebula crew, showing how Ethyl, Katsu, Tori, Robin, Lexie, Tatasia and Nightheart all met. They end up teaming up to face a large threat, but bond over time and become friends through their growth and hardship.
- Starbound: Rise of the Stargazers: Six months after the events of the first story, this story introduces the stargazers as the villains, and also Princess Moonquill of the glitch empire. It also introduces Azima Abbas, the protector who has the role of the protagonist of the original game. Robin meets her grandfather, an ex-stargazer who wishes to atone.
- Starbound: The Glitch Empire: Picking up after the events of Rise of the Stargazers.

Crystallic’s Starbound Trilogy contains examples of:
- Bittersweet Ending: For the third story. The Glitch Empire has been taken over by a redeemed Moonquill, who is doing her best to fix what her father has done. Robin and Lexie, Katsu and Tori, and Azima and Ludvig all get married, with the former 2 couples being confirmed to have kids, Tetra joining the Peacekeepers with everyone else leading the New Protectorate, and all the villains have been defeated or redeemed. The New Protectorate is doing very well to protect the universe. However, Ethyl, the main protagonist, had sacrificed himself to save the universe, and the impact of Stormlance’s actions are still there, as the memories of those who are erased don’t return, so all they can do is get used to their new lives, knowing that they are just inbuilt personalities. Kumiko is also bound to a wheelchair for the rest of her life after being brutally attacked by Kleriya.
- Death by Racism: Invoked by Ethyl Countrisyde, who has a strong Murder Is the Best Solution mindset when it comes to racism.
- Fantastic Racism: Due to the diversity of races and being set in the Starbound universe, where it is pretty much everywhere, this isn’t a surprise. Racism is absolutely everywhere in the trilogy, especially the first story. No matter what race you are, you deal with racism. It’s so bad that Ethyl has been driven into extremism, where he shoots racist people on a whim.
- Oh, My Gods!: Some characters do this with the Cultivator, a godlike being from the source material.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: The Glitch King and Princess Moonquill both actively work to keep their people safe and happy. Even after Moonquill becomes the queen, she only works even harder.
- Self-Deprecation: Some characters like to get a bit self-aware, and insult the story. An example being when Nightheart laments having to go on a second adventure because it would be a bad sequel. Another is after freeing a bunch of Glitch, when Mark sympathizes with them, saying that if he would be done for if he realized he was a character in a terrible fan fiction.
- Series Fic: The story is a series of 3 fan fictions.
- Shout-Out: Has its own page.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: In the first story, the entire black nebula crew does this to Mika, and her heinous actions, such as genocide and intending to blow up an ENTIRE star system.
- Would Hit a Girl: Violence is unisex in this universe, as all the guys are perfectly ok with fighting girls. Justified for the most part, as the girls they usually fight are either training matches or their enemies.
