Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

  • Returning To: Enemies
  • [tup]s:
  • Theme Song: Mt. Moon (Pokémon Red and Blue)
  • Symbol: Their faces and open mouths
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Gender: Mixed
  • Ability: Inner Focus
  • Moves: Leech Life, Supersonic, Absorb, Bite, Wing Attack, and Confuse Ray, though trained variants have, Mean Look, Poison Fang and Acrobatics
    • Z-Moves: Varies between Acid Downpour, Supersonic Skystrike, and Black Hole Eclipse depending on the Zubat/Golbat
  • Portfolio: Deceptively Hard-to-Defeat Enemies, Cave-Dwelling Pokémon, Bats, Found In All Sorts of Locales, Flying-type, Poison-type, Draining HP With Leech Life And Absorb, Sound-Based Moves
  • Domains (Types): Bats, Annoyance, Poison
  • Heralds: Tentacool, Wingull, Yungoos
  • Followers: Fleamen, Future predators, and... bats. Lots and lots of other species of cave bats.
  • Allies: Naka, Brock, Riku, Chuggaaconroy, the Bat Family, Gladion
  • Conflicting Opinions: Team Rocket, and all other villainous teams in the Pokémon World (lesser extent for Maxie, Archie, and Cyrus)
  • Enemy: All Electric-type, Rock-type, and Psychic-type users
  • Not to Be Confused With: Kaiketsu Zubat
  • When it comes to aggravating Random Encounters that players hate facing (not for their difficulty, but for their annoyance to take down), none are more infamous than the Zubat evolutionary line. Absurdly high encounter rates, ludicrous speed, HP draining attacks, and Confusion-inducing moves make for a huge nuisance. And when Zubat become small fry, their evolutions Golbat pick up the slack with potent poisoning, escape prevention, and forced turn skipping by way of flinching. The only reason their final stage Crobat is not counted is because they're only encountered under trainers since Happiness is required to evolve them to that stage.
  • Despite having their own temple/cave in the House of Gaming, they can be found in caves all over the Pantheon, often getting into competition with other cave-dwelling bats and expies of such.
  • Through capture, training and The Power of Friendship, Zubat can one day gain great power to aid in the battle against evil. It was stuck in the Villains house before the opening of the Gaming house just because how it annoys many Pokémon trainers in their quest to attain heroism. Doesn't help that Zubat is the most common Pokémon among the grunts of the Pokémon world's villainous teams.
  • Of all gods to make friends with Zubat was Chuggaaconroy, who captured Zubat and evolved it into a Crobat that he calls…Acrobat.
    • Brock has also shown that he has captured a Zubat (which also evolved into Crobat) in the past, so at least they have trusted company now.
    • Riku has given a hint that whenever his Komory Bat is in the Pokémon world, it takes on the form of a Crobat.
  • While not having any particulars, the Zubat and Golbat are occasional aid for the Bat family whenever they call up for bats to harass the enemy. And boy are they good at it.
  • While a popular Pokémon used by the villainous teams, they have no real opinions on some of the leaders (or the Rocket trio), as they have none of their own in their parties. Actually, their is disdain for Ghetsis because he's that despicable. There's a bit more respect for Maxie, Archie, and Cyrus given they own Golbats that eventually evolved into Crobats.

Evaluation Mode

Here's a previously deleted profile due to shortness that I returned. Should I use his pic at Indie Pogo instead?

Captain Viridian, Diety of Gravity As A Gameplay Mechanic

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/viridiannoback.png
  • Theme Songs: "Pushing Onwards" (or "Positive Force" during daring escape sequences)
  • Symbol: A Shiny Trinket
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Color Character, Optimism, Insurmountable Waist-Height Fence, Being Monochromatic, Gravity Master
  • Domains: Gravity, Wrap Around, Teleporting
  • Followers: Seto, Albiero Imma
  • Heralds: The other members of the D.S.S. Souleye crew (Doctor Violet, Professor Vitellary, Officer Vermilion, Doctor Victoria, Chief Verdigris)
  • Allies: Kat, Mega Man
  • Ascended to the Pantheon by falling up to it.
    • That's what many joke about him saying. The truth is, the D.S.S. Souleye arrived somewhere in the House of Time and Space after the crew saved the dimension they got stuck in thanks to the research they found in the Secret Lab. After that, they tried getting back home, but ended up here. After negotiations, an appearance before the Court of the Gods, and a report of their journey, Viridian was nominated to represent Gravity Screw, due to it being the core mechanic of his whole adventure.
  • Despite being referred to as male, no one actually knows whether or not if he's male or female. Officer Vermilion does addresses the Captain as "Sir", but that's likely from military regulations, which would require that form of address even if Viridian was a woman.
  • Has trouble navigating certain houses because of bumps of moderate heights, which he must reverse gravity to go over. Inclines make it easier for him to navigate.
  • If Viridian falls out of sight, whether by accident or another god pulling a joke, he respawns hours later back at the "entrance" to the House of Time and Space.
    • However, since Born's ascension evaluating the inconvenience of this, Viridian's respawn has been changed to "seconds after his death" and "at the entrance of any sub-House/Dominion he's in".
  • Has become good friends with Mega Man, who shares the same problem with spikes.
  • Kat gets along with Viridian and is often there to help him out by carrying him with her gravity powers whenever he needs to traverse somewhere with multiple elevations.
  • Has been invited to a tournament somewhat similar to that of Master Hand's. And fellow Indie Game deities like Shovel Knight, Sash Lilac, Octodad, Dust, Diogenes, and Gunvolt have been invited as well. And to even things out, he's been granted the ability to throw the V spikes that have plagued his adventure. Among many other bonuses.

[down]I was going to do that once I reach them for my Big MLP Rework, but okay. It's done.

Is it okay if I make two new rules regarding how to suggest potential candidates and the hype prevention sandbox? Here’s mine (PS, I copied the suggestion way from Crimson):

  • The way to suggest a candidate is this:
  • [Name of Deity (Hyperlinked to series where the character comes from)] - [Trope which you nominated the character for]
    • Insert how the trope represents the character and why you think the character deserves to be nominated.

  • In order to prevent hype profiles, a sandbox was created regarding newly-released works that needed to wait until a certain date/something passes so that it will prevent tropers to ascend characters from those works. Here is the link of the sandbox and the works that everyone shouldn't post profiles of in this thread until it passes.

[down]But I’ll also post the rules in the main Pantheon page.

Edit: Nevermind. My response sounds so stupid when I reread it.

Why does the Hype Prevention Sandbox has profiles? Why Nightelf? Why do you always find a way to make things unbearable?

[up][up] You know, you could just link to the Houses the profiles are in rather than copying the lot into the sandbox because the too long warning might come up. If they are linked, then neither Faso nor Hamana will ever think about deleting them unnecessarily.

@faso and Muun: Because there might be content we're just itching to add, but simply can't, not even hiding beneath %%s, because of the Hype Prevention wait time keeping us from reworking them.

For example, Teams RWBY and JNPR are mostly stuck in Volume 3, Qrow and Cinder at Volume 5, and we're only up to Volume 7, but we have to wait until Volume 9 is complete before we can even start reworking any of them? We can't even discuss adding content to them on the thread unless it relates to a new or other rework profile because of this.

Don't you know how maddening waiting for that can be for some people? And what if two tropers have different ideas as to where a rework goes? Is it fair for them to wait until the hype is over only to then find that out? Better sooner than later, right?

I put them there so that profiles won't need to be claimed exclusively by certain other tropers who tend not to let others work on their sandboxes.

In that sandbox, we can all work on it how we want and treat it like we would any other profile. They're just not allowed in the Pantheon proper until the Hype limit is over, that's all.

And merely linking to wherever the profiles currently are isn't going to help at all.

That said, I think I mostly agree that the sandbox might get too long, even with my own limit I set up (no dead or definitely-not-coming-back people). I think the Frozen profiles can safely be moved to sandboxes of tropers who would rework them. As for James Bond, I don't know. But the RWBY profiles definitely need to stay there.

  • Fears: The Omni-King

  • Long ago, at the beginning of the creation of the universe was the Galaxy Cauldron, the most powerful star in the entire universe and the birthplace of all stars in the galaxy. However, at some point in time, an unfathomable evil was born from the Cauldron. This creature was named Chaos, the ultimate expression of nothingness and source of darkness. The reason being that light and darkness both have to exist. The darkness needs the light to cast shadows and the light needs the darkness to shine brightly. Light and Darkness will always coexist. If there is no light, the universe will be destroyed and remade in the image of the evil, Chaos. The only way Chaos can be destroyed is through the Galaxy Cauldron’s destruction. As long as it exists, Chaos will never be permanently destroyed. The problem with destroying the Galaxy Cauldron is that, while there will be no more war, all life will end and stars will never be born again.

  • Chaos’ ascension was strange...many gods and deities started to go missing in the Pantheon and the investigation to find them lead the ones searching into outer space, where they encountered a gray, formless mass. This was Chaos. Apparently, after dissolving in the Galaxy Cauldron, it had found itself in the Pantheon. They managed to rescue both the deities and gods that had been taken by Chaos but also barely escaped with their lives. It stated that the reason it was abducting people was to gather the attention of the Court Of The Gods. It stated that it was claiming the As Long as There Is Evil trope and promptly headed back into deep space. It was properly ascended afterwards, much to the horror of many Gods.

  • We would like to remind you that sealing Chaos inside of your body is a bad idea. It won’t end well.

  • Chaos’ temple is an exact replica of Sagitarrius Zero Star. The Galaxy Cauldron has not been included and others are trying to get it ascended into the Pantheon in order to have an easier way to defeat Chaos.

  • All of the Sailor Senshi, as well as Tuxedo Mask and Luna were horrified that Chaos had managed to ascend, though the biggest reactions came from Sailors Moon and Galaxia. Sailor Moon immediately panicked upon learning that the creature that nearly tore her entire life apart had returned, while Galaxia was angry that it had ascended and vowed to destroy it, saying that she wouldn’t allow it to both manipulate her and control her again.

  • Chaos was actually the one who created multiple evils such as Queen Metalia, Death Phantom, Pharaoh 90 and Queen Nehelenia, the four actually being incarnations of Chaos. It only makes sense that Chaos has the abilities of its spawn.

    • The abilities from them it is known to have are the Beast Hands, Evil Eye and Curse techniques. The Beast Hands technique allows it to sprout multiple technicolor stretchy and flexible arms which can drain the energy of anyone it is touching and was even capable of destroying Rubeus when used by Death Phantom. Wiseman even granted Saphir a pair of Beast Hands.

    • The Evil Eye is capable of controlling other people. Anyone who has looked once into the Evil Eye technique can be controlled by the user, even when the Evil Eye is inactive after usage. It can cause paralysis at will, work on multiple people at once and oddly enough is able to grant one resistance to mental attacks. Even ones as powerful as the Evil Eye. It also allows the projection of a very powerful energy attack. It can harm others when used carefully, as evidenced with Saphir when the Death Phantom used it. At full power it can defeat Saphir in one shot. It was even a threat to Sailors Jupiter and Venus.

    • The most threatening technique of the bunch though and easily the most dangerous is the Curse, which was previously used by Queen Nehelenia. It doesn’t have any physical or mental power. Instead, it has power over fate and destiny. Queen Nehelenia was even able to use this when sealed away. She used it against Queen Serenity herself, which caused The Dark Kingdom and Queen Metalia to rise and the fall of the Silver Millennium. Queen Metalia and the Dark Kingdom might have risen in the future at some point anyway but the curse basically destroyed any hope of the Moon Kingdom defeating them. Queen Serenity is far more powerful then Nehelenia, but the curse still worked on her. The curse is very difficult to remove. Even the Silver Crystal is unable to get rid of it. Only the Golden Crystal can remove it. She cast a curse on the Earth which causes it, the sacred land of Elysion and their protectors Chiba Mamoru and Helios to begin dying.

  • One of the first enemies that Chaos made after its ascension was the God-Emperor of Mankind, who saw it as a revolting creature almost as bad as the Chaos Gods. Chaos pays him no mind, but has taken an interest in the Chaos Gods, only earning more hatred from the emperor.

    • On the flipside, one of the first allies that Chaos made in the Pantheon was none other than Kefka Palazzo. Kefka likes Chaos’ goals, especially since he’d be able to destroy everything. Plus, as an added bonus for both of them, Kefka finds the promise of a universe dominated by Chaos fascinating...believing that it would eventually be destroyed over time. That was enough for him and Chaos to become allies. Some deities and gods suspect that Kefka is actually after Chaos’ power and is seeking to take it for himself.

    • Kefka was not the only harlequin to meet with Chaos. Another was Dimentio, who, as it turns out, approves of Chaos’ goals. Especially since both of their goals are completely identical...well, other than the becoming one with the universe part. Chaos, having learned of his reputation, knows Dimentio cannot be trusted.

  • Gets along swimmingly with The Beast, both regarding humans as at the very bottom of the totem pole, wanting to remake the universe in their image and destroy, corrupt or brainwash anyone who opposes them...or they may even do all three. This alliance has many in the Pantheon on edge and has attracted the attention of the Doctor.

  • Chaos’ goal in the Pantheon is to cause a great war, intending to have many gods and deities destroyed in the carnage. This earned it an ally in Hades, though he thinks Chaos should lighten up and relax a bit. Chaos believes that it doesn’t really need to do much due to the conflict between the Grand United Alliances of both Good and Evil, as well as the conflict between the Grand United Alliances Of Law and Chaos. Obviously, nobody of these alliances wants to be manipulated by this being.

  • Chaos is wary of Porky Minch as he drove Giygas completely insane with nothing but a machine. Chaos doesn’t want to meet the same fate as Giygas.

  • The SCP Foundation hates it for having the ability to create Eldritch Abominations and seeks to contain it as quickly as they can. Obviously, this means Chaos sees them as enemies, believing that if they can contain SCP-682, then they may be able to do the same to it.

  • Seems to have a disturbing interest in Majin Buu, believing that his human extinction attack would be very useful...as well as seeking to unite both him and Fat Buu into one being again as Super Buu. Both versions of Buu are oblivious to this and many Gods and Deities have been trying to keep Chaos away from them.

  • Discord hates it for soiling the name of chaos. His hatred only increased when he found out that Chaos was interested in Tirek.

    • It is unknown how an interaction between them would go. Many fear that Tirek would absorb all of Chaos’ power, it would prove to be an infinite source of magic, which could power up Tirek to insane levels or even allow Chaos to corrupt him and take over his body. Nobody wants to find out what would happen.

  • Is hated by Pit and Palutena not only for its goals...but for reminding them of the Chaos Kin. This is due to Chaos’ heavy manipulation and corruption of Galaxia, even going as far as to get her to take the Star Seeds of all of Sailor Moon’s friends. Given that the Star Seed is basically the soul, it’s easy to see why they detest it so much.

    • Dark Pit also hates it for these reasons as well, as does Viridi...though she mainly despises it for trying to destroy the universe, believing that there would be no plants if Chaos succeeds.

  • Has an alliance going with Bill Cipher and HIM. This is a cause for alarm for most deities as the unholy alliance between it, Hades, Dimentio, Kefka, HIM, Bill Cipher and The Beast can certainly be a problem.

    • If that wasn’t enough, Chaos is allies with The Light of Destruction and THE SHADOW MONSTER. You Can Panic Now.

  • Apparently, Chaos seeks to corrupt and twist the morals of others as well...as evidenced when it approached Madoka Kaname, offering her power to recover from The Great Upheaval. In truth, while it would have given her power, she also would have lost all semblance of free will. Madoka refused as she had been warned beforehand of the deception and manipulations of Chaos by The Sailor Senshi. It wasn’t pleased. As a result of this, it has also become enemies with Homura Akemi.

  • Has a disturbing interest in Doomsday. It likes the Daleks more but knows not to trust them as they tried to destroy all of reality save for themselves...plus they constantly rebel against their creator. It seems to get along better with Davros.

  • Is completely frustrated by the likes of Doctor Fate and Doctor Strange.

    • Doctor Strange for having the power to halt its plans. It hates Doctor Fate for the same reason. Has reached out to Dormammu for help against Strange. There has been no response as of yet and many hope it remains that way...or that Dormammu declines to help Chaos.

  • All Good-Aligned Marvel deities oppose it for being similar to both Shuma-Gorath and Amatsu-Mikaboshi. It has since become rivals with Shuma-Gorath but is outright ignored by the Chaos King.

  • Has a partnership going with Aku. Chaos promised that it would help defeat his enemies if he aids it in keeping the Galaxy Cauldron from being used against it should it ever be ascended.

  • Father Balder hates it. Not only is Chaos a being who acts similarly to the one that manipulated him, but it is enemies with Galaxia, a person who he is on good terms with. Actually, to say he hates Chaos is a bit of an understatement.

  • Is interested in many items in the treasury such as...

    • The Dragon Balls in hopes to gain as much knowledge of its enemies as possible.

    • The Chaos Emeralds as it seeks to corrupt them and purge them of positive energy entirely.

    • The Chaos Heart to further its goal of creating a new world.

    • Aghanim’s Scepter as it wants to see if it can become Sailor Chaos through that manner.

  • Is avoiding the Grand United Alliances as Chaos knows invoking their wrath more than it already has will be very bad for it and its goals.

    • However, it seems to have ties to the Grand United Alliance Of Destruction, if its alliance with Kefka, Hades and the Shadow Monster are any indication. It doesn’t seem to be a full-blown member but it gets along with Deathwing.

    • It and Zamasu seem to have trouble working together, given the latter’s hypocrisy and belief that everything inherently evil should be destroyed, this makes sense.

    • One thing Zamasu and Chaos agree on though is that Zeno is a major threat to their plans and that they need to tread carefully involving him and his future counterpart.

  • Has Pops Maellard VERY HIGH on its list of threats. He hasn’t noticed Chaos yet, but it is very worried about someone able to force positive emotions on others, especially a being that wanted nothing more than to destroy the universe over a deer. It knows making a move against him would be suicidal though as most of the Pantheon loves Pops.

  • Has recently taken an interest in Chaos, wondering if it can be angered into reverting back to its destructive ways.

  • Where there is light, there is darkness. Darkness brings light and light brings darkness.

@nightelf The entire point of the Hype Profile Sandbox is to not work or rework profiles for characters whose works' release has been too soon to be reliably not hype. By attempting to rework them anyway, you are going against the very reason the Sandbox was created in the first place.

If we keep the RWBY profiles in the sandbox, then I see no reason why we shouldn't put other rework profiles from every other series in there. There is no cause that explains why RWBY should get that special treatment. So, we'd have to do that, and you can see why that's not feasible, right?

I've found that Muundeis had some profiles for Madness Combat, and I wish to adopt them. In my opinion, the series has had too much of an influence on Newgrounds to not have profiles included in the Pantheon. With that being said, I'm amongst one of the newer contributors, so I'm not sure how to go about with actually adopting the profiles. Any advice?

@Yugi: Well, I'm cool with that. I only gave RWBY that treatment because of the wait time being 2 damn Volumes long (most probably more than a year, and for me that's way too long to wait before starting any rework). Any other show with the same issue that has profiles in the Pantheon already can go there, too. Like the Red vs. Blue cast. Season 16 is currently ongoing.

...I think I'm starting to see your point. Perhaps it's best to create a whole new sandbox altogether for those profiles. But what to title it?

  • Portfolio: Amazingly Embarrassing Parents, Manchildren, Breakout Characters, Author Avatars, Bumbling Dads, It's All About Me, Never Accepts Blame For His Actions, Large Hams, Becoming Gradually Dumber, Hypocrites, Takes Mundane Things Way Too Seriously, "Stan? Staaan?"
  • Domains: Parents, Idiocy, Embarrassment
  • Herald: Towlie (his business partner)
  • Special relationship with: Stan Marsh (his son)
  • Allies: Homer Simpson, Bender, President Garrison, Laine Cartman, Chef, Barney Gruble, Jay and Silent Bob, Snoop Dog
  • Enemies: The Guinea Creatures, Walter White
  • Opposed by: Every single good Disney deity, the House of Justice, Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Christie and Bonnie Plunkett
  • Mixed Relations: The New Kid
  • Banned from: The House of Sports
  • While it's common for kids to see their parents as embarrassing, Stan's dad, Randy Marsh, takes this idea to a whole new level. Despite starting out as one of the few somewhat level-headed adults in South Park, Randy regularly gets himself involved in all sorts of zany schemes and situations: all of which embarrass Stan to no end. From getting into drunken fights with other dads at his son's little league games, to saying a racial slur on national television, Randy's constant antics serve as a regular source of shame for Stan and his family. Seeing his long list of embarrassing misadventures, the gods deemed Randy to be a shoe-in for the title of Amazingly Embarrassing Parent.
  • Stan wouldn't be made aware of his father's ascension until one day when reports were floating around about a man high on drugs roundhouse kicking Officer Wiggum after he and other police officers attempted to arrest him for selling cocaine. Apparently, he was shouting "I thought this was America!" (despite it indeed not being America) as they forced him into a police car. Despite knowing immediately who this was, Stan went to the House of Crime just to be sure. Predictably, he was greeted by a now detained Randy, who nonchalantly greeted his son before immediately asking him to pay for bail. Stan just looked down and pinched the bridge of his nose before silently walking away.
  • He's currently fighting to legalize the sale of cocaine. As of now, the movement has made no progress, given the generally greater intelligence of the Pantheon's populace when compared to that of South Park's. This hasn't stopped him from constantly protesting outside of the House of Justice.
  • The New Kid had conflicting feelings about Randy's ascension. While he is still grateful for helping him breaking out of the Grey Aliens' ship, he's also still a bit uncomfortable around him after he drunkenly attacked him and Coon and Friends.
  • Being his former high priest and fellow embarrassing parent, Randy managed to become good drinking buddies with Homer Simpson. The two are often seeing getting hammered at Moe's Tavern along with fellow beer enthusiast Bender. These get togethers always lead to the trio getting into some sort of shenanigans.
  • He's often seen wandering outside of his temple absolutely hammered and generally making a fool of himself. Despite this, he vehemently denies that he's an alcoholic, earning him the ire of recovering alcoholics Christie and Blonnie Pluckett.
  • Takes pride in the massive shits he's able to take, to the point that he insisted on having his most legendary one be kept in the house of Treasures. Of course, the gods denied Randy's request for obvious reason. Being Randy, he refused to take no for an answer and attempted to break into the house with his massive shit on hand put on display. Unfortunately for him, other deities anticipated as much and had him apprehended by the police before he got far.
  • Given his business in selling selling quality marijuana, Randy has gained the approval of stoners such as Jay and Silent Bob, as well as Snoop Dog, all of whom openly endorsed Tegrity Farms' weed on more than one occasion.
  • Since he expanded Tegrity Farms into the cocaine market, Randy found himself a foe in Walter White. On top of being business rivals, Walter is absolutely insulted that a destructive idiot like Randy made it big in the drug industry, insisting that he only got as far as he did because of dumb luck and how stupid the people that populate his world are. Randy, meanwhile, has no idea why someone in the drug dealing business is so stressed out. That said, he tries to keep his distance, because even Randy thinks Walter is pretty fucked up.
  • Spider-Man wants nothing to do with Randy after he accidentally flooded a Broadway theater whilst donning the Spider-Man costume.
  • Ever since he viciously murdered his version of Winnie the Pooh, Randy earned the scorn of every good Disney deity in the Pantheon. Hell, even a few of the Disney villains were disgusted by Randy. Despite Randy's insistence that the Chinese government was to blame, since he only did it to get in their good graces for the sake of Tegrity Farms, he's forbidden from stepping within a 10 mile radius of Pooh or any other resident of 100 Acre Woods.
  • Despite his faults and reckless idiocy, Randy does care about his family above all else and will readily beat the crap out of anyone that speaks ill of them. Given his tendency to take things like these way too seriously, Stan avoids mentions any conflicts that he may have in the Pantheon, lest Randy gets involved and needlessly escalates things.

[up][up][up] That used to be the policy we tended to take on this issue, albeit an unofficial one. The reason most users here would prefer to move away from that is to prevent Hype Profiles from being made.

In the past, characters from certain works were made while said works were ongoing or too recently released, making it difficult, if not impossible, for us to be certain that the character was not suggested due solely to their popularity—which is hardly a timeless quality. RWBY is just one example of that, but there are plenty of others. Encouraging others to not suggest characters from works immediately after they've been released or, in this case, to not rework profiles for characters from works that will end relatively soon is an attempt to prevent this.

See the Rules folder above for a further explanation into the nature of a Hype Profile, and why we would want to prevent them.

[up] i'm well aware why hype profiles arent done, i lurk here fairly often, occasionally put some input in if i feel like it, but in anycase, i feel that if you guys allowed em in, you may as well do the upkeep for them. maybe not as the season goes on, but at least if something major happens, at least after a month or so. but that's just me.
