  • Love Hurts: A recurring problem that she deals with. Her relationship with Pierce, a vampire, is in odds with her job as a supernatural hunter. Her next relationship, Justine, turns out to have been involved in a demonic ritual, and gets thrown in jail when the spirit of Abigail Riley possesses and drives her to murder her sister. After dealing with several bad relationships on top of her nightmares the demons caused her, she decided to take a break from dating and relationships. Eventually, she begins to miss Pierce and gets back together with him.
  • Not Distracted by the Sexy: In the first case, she ignores Roxanne Vega's flirting, even chewing her out for attempting to take advantage of the victim.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • In the Midwest, she becomes depressed and tired, then goes insane due to a demon trying to break into her mind. Hope gets worried about her when she won't talk about finding a new love interest, and wishes she would go back to that.

  • Big Damn Heroes: He kills Eric Zwart, the invincible vampire by stabbing him with a stake dipped in virgin blood. Doing so, he managed to prove himself to Jacob.

  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: A tough as nails military man thanks to his work and family background, but he always shows real care and concern for others. He worries for Gwen's health and well-being, especially after she realizes her boyfriend Pierce is a vampire, and takes over the investigation from her. Then later on he tries to cheer up Priya after she's distraught about the murder investigation of a werewolf.

  • Official Couple: She forms one with Zander Stark.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: During Case 11, Priya escapes from her cage the night before and only turns up upset and disheveled later. It is revealed that she woke up near Ruth Wu's body and assumed she killed her in her trance.

  • Weaksauce Weakness: To silver. Curing Case 12, she holds a silver knife that badly burns her hand.

Hope Newman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hnewmansupernatural.png

  • Action Girl: She takes on Arthur's demon form in the finale, defeats the guards then proceeds to kill the Demon Queen once an for all.

  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Mellows out a lot during the Rockies, especially towards Gwen.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Don't call her Hopey.
  • Everyone Has Standards: In Case 6, she is very uncomfortable with the idea of going through Jacob's stuff, even though she knew it was to find something to cheer him up.
Hope: Felix, has it occurred to you that snooping into the chief's past is somewhat invasive?
  • Hidden Depths: Outside of technology, Hope mentions she has an interest in spiders, much to Gwen's dismay.
  • It's All My Fault: It was because she ended up running away which got herself captured in the first place, allowing the demons to free their queen. The guilt has actually been eating at her.
  • Living MacGuffin: She's the final key for the demon queen's cage.
  • Meaningful Name: Most likely intentional on her father's part, but Hope is a nice fit for the person who keeps the Demon Queen (as well as her evil ambitions) sealed.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Hope going AWOL from the team results in her being kidnapped by the demons, and, as the final key, releasing the demon queen in the process.
  • Odd Friendship: Out of everyone on the team, she has the most friendly relationship with Arthur Darkwood.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: During the events of Case 23, Hope acts grumpier than usual before eventually making off with Rathimael's ring, seemingly going rogue. Her actions are enough for the normally patient Jacob to pull a gun on her.

  • Perky Goth: Despite her snarky and reserved nature at first, she eventually starts to fit the bill.

  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: After Gwen's series of demonic nightmares taking a toll on her, she defies the chief's warning of contacting Arthur Darkwood to ask him for help in Case 18.
  • Silly Rabbit, Romance Is for Kids!: Her contrast with Gwen as she mentions that she doesn't need love.
Hope: Humph! I am far too pragmatic for emotions such a love, unlike yourself!
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Initially starts off as this with Gwen, but it wears off after Justine's arrest. It picks up again when Gwen starts having nightmares.
  • Walking Spoiler: Due to her connection to Rathimael, being the fifth key to the Demon Queen's cage and also her weakness.

Felix Reed

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/freedsupernatural.png
The lore expert for the team in Season 7.
  • Black and Nerdy: One of the best way to describe him being the best with his job and interest in lore.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • He can't handle it when people steal or damage public heritage from museums. Considering that the demon queen's supporters are behind the stealing of various artefacts, he's very much correct.
    • He's also disgusted upon seeing Luke burn the vampire invincibility potion, as he refused to damage the book it was ripped from.
  • Distressed Dude: Held at knife point by Clybourn after he believes he is an Alien. Luckily Gwen manages to save him by having him remove his jacket (which ends up proving he is human)
  • Genius Cripple: He is Black and Nerdy and confined to a wheelchair after a lizard monster chomped on him while he was at university.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: He strikes up a friendship with teenage witch Avery Mitchell, keeping her grounded while the team is investigating.
  • Mistaken for Dog: Clybourn Webster mistakes him for an alien in Case 17 until Gwen manages to prove otherwise.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: His appearance is based on Daveed Diggs.
  • Totally Radical: His main method of speaking to others by using words like "Dude" and "Bro" fit this trope. Also the fact he joined the team straight from college.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Felix learns the hard way that getting into an attic on a wheelchair is not that easy.
Damn <player's name>! Getting up that dinky staircase to the attic in my wheelchair wasn't pretty!

    Recurring Characters in Supernatural Investigations

Zander Stark

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zstarksupernatural.png
A werewolf who runs into the team on more than one occasion, and wants Priya to join a pack with him.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: He doesn't react well when he finds out that Priya only joined the pack to spy on the wolves.
  • Cynicism Catalyst: He doesn't trust humans, particularly hunters after his previous pack was slaughtered by hunters and his friend was killed, leaving him as the only survivor.

  • Happily Married: To Priya at the end of the season.
  • Irony: He's a werewolf who's allergic to fur.
  • Nice Guy: Despite his distrust of humans, Zander is quite kind and always willing to lend the player a hand. Priya often mentions how kind Zander was to her during her time with Annette Strong's pack.

  • Official Couple: He forms one with Priya Desai.
  • Second Love: For Priya, whose first marriage had failed after she was turned into a werewolf.

Agnes Leek

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agnesleeksupernatural_6.png
An eerie old witch whom the Supernatural Hunters encounter many times through their journeys.
  • Ambiguously Evil: She is the witch who gave R.J. Fielding and his friends the book used to summon Zeke Davis and helped Dan Kelly create the golem to replace the wife that he murdered.
  • Good is Not Nice: While she helps the team make a potion to protect themselves from demons, Agnes is considerably grumpy, and indirectly allowed a demon to be summoned.
  • Pet the Dog: While helping Priya concoct the potion for the mind protection spell, she gives her dating advice like a grandmother would.
  • Screw Politeness, I'm a Senior!: She's not exactly the sweetest witch we meet with the Hunters.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: Joseph Hardcastle killed Agnes because her ancestor, Petunia Leek, cursed his family for executing her for witchcraft, causing members of his family to died at their 65th birthday. He thought killing Agnes would break the curse.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: She's indirectly responsible for the demonic ritual that summoned Zeke Davis.
  • Victim of the Week: Agnes is the victim of Case 23, at the hands of the descendant of one of her ancestor's victims.

Dr. Aculus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/draculussupernatural.png
Leader of the vampire coven and an important character in the first arc of Season 7.
  • Ambiguously Evil: He is head of the vampires, but he doesn't really do anything remotely evil over the course of his appearances and is fairly affable towards the team. However, Chief Arrow still keeps a strained relationship with him at best.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He did not approve of Eric Zwart's attempts to make an invincibility elixir. Unfortunately, this gets him killed.
  • Off with His Head!: Killed by Eric Zwart this way, one of the surefire methods to kill a vampire.
  • Punny Name: His name and title sounds almost close to the most famous vampire in all of fiction.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Appears in only one arc, but he post-humously warns the Hunters of the demonic threat in the next arc.

Pierce Cromwell

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pcromwellsupernaturalc326.png
A vampire and Gwen's boyfriend who she met during Case 1 of Supernatural Investigations.

  • Babies Ever After: When she and Pierce return in the finale, they are revealed to have a baby boy together named Arthur.
  • The Bus Came Back: He returns in the finale alongside Gwen to thank the player for all the happy memories they shared together.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite being a vampire with a punk appearance, he is nothing but affable towards the team and willingly breaks up with Gwen upon realizing they can't be together.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He stops Gwen from threatening Bathsheba after the latter bites her, stating that despite her issues, she is like a sister to him. He also congratulates the player for killing Eric Zwart after discovering he is the invincible vampire.
  • First Guy Wins: He's the first love interest of Gwen introduced in the first episode, and ultimately, the one she ends with in the end despite their breakup at the end of the first arc.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: He is on better terms when they split up after the ball incident and hopes she can find a guy who treats her right.
  • Interspecies Romance: With Gwen.
  • Odd Friendship: Case 4 reveals that he's friends with Zander, a werewolf.
  • Official Couple: In the end, he does end up with Gwen.
  • One True Love: He's madly in love with Gwen and would do anything for her. He still considers her his girlfriend despite their breakup. They reconcile and get back together before the finale.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He is disgusted when he realises he almost bit Gwen as they danced together at the ball, causing the two of them to temporarily break up due to not feeling safe together.
  • Nice Guy: Despite his appearance, he is always willing to help his friends and particularly Gwen. He tends to show great respect to the team, even if it isn't always reciprocated.
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: He is always seen wearing a crimson tanktop and leather sleeveless jacket.

Fabien de la Mort

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fabien_de_la_mortsupernatural_4.png
An elegant vampire who is infatuated with Luke.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: While more the opposite of ugly, he does chase after Luke. He even takes advantage when Luke drinks Morgana Blackhawk's Love Potion.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Is in love with Luke, but the feelings are never reciprocated.
  • Captain Ersatz: He's a 200-year old gay vampire with an elegant fashion sense. He's pretty much the game's answer to Lestat de Lioncourt.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • When he's informed of Dolly Hale's dog getting poisoned, he doesn't hesitate to extract some of his own blood as a cure.
    • He also draws the line at helping the demons enslave all humans and supernatural creatures, which leads him to kill Roxanne Vega when she tries to force him to do so.
  • Foil: To Roxanne Vega. Both are vampires who come off as aloof and odd towards the team, have been around for roughly three centuries and both were second-in-command to their coven leader at some point. When confronted with the prospect of demons destroying the world, Roxanne only thinks about saving her own skin and sides with the Queen's faithful, while Fabien acts to save everyone else and doesn't care if he would get locked away for life in doing so. Each of the also had a moment before their final appearance that foreshadowed their true natures; Fabien willingly gives some of his own blood to save a dying dog, while Roxanne thought nothing of essentially robbing her son's grave and stealing his blood to strengthen her coven's powers.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: He cares about the wellbeing of other supernatural creatures and humans enough to turn against his own coven leader for wanting to help enslave them.
  • Kick The Son Of A Bitch: Despite staking and defenestration Roxanne, Roxanne had attempted to ally with the demons for power. As such, he gets acquitted.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: To strengthen his resemblance to Lestat.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: He retains a 19th Century-esque fashion sense and mannerisms.
  • Straight Gay: He is infatuated with Luke despite looking like a traditional Renaissance gentleman.
  • Tempting Fate: In Case 18, he says that vampires don't have a habit of pushing people off bridges. Eleven cases later, he kills his coven leader by pushing her out of a high place.

Bathsheba

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bathsheba.png
A crazy vampire who pops up commonly throughout the season.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Non-romantic example; she seems to adore Gwen and wants to be friends with her, even dressing up as her for the Supernatural Ball. Gwen, however, is less than impressed by her efforts.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: While the player and Gwen begin investigating Dr. Aculus's murder, a hungry Bathsheba bites Gwen (fortunately, this does not turn her) and leaves her on bedrest for the rest of the case. She also manages to trap wicked supernatural hunter Dolores Harper in a cage when the latter tries to hunt her.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: She's a little bit out there.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Bathsheba likes to befriend and play with supernatural animals, including a bigfoot (the victim of Case 2) and a chupacabra used to kill Case 7's victim.
  • Like Brother and Sister: She sees Fabien and Pierce as her siblings even though they're not actually related.
  • Loon with a Heart of Gold: In spite of her erratic behavior, she's actually nice and helpful to the team, and likes making friends with other creatures.
  • Manchild: A very ancient one at that.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: Her goofy personality is often a source of humor in the season.

Justine Bankston

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/justinebankston.png
A gold magnate and Gwen's second fling.
  • Demonic Possession: Gets arrested in Case 7's Additional Investigation for murdering her sister. The Supernatural Hunters learn in the next case that she was in fact possessed by a malicious ghost.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Getting involved in a Human Sacrifice ritual five years ago was a hard toll on her. At least, that's what she admitted to Gwen.
  • Straight Gay: Mid-investigation in Case 6, she asks Gwen out and the two become an item.

Ruth Wu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ruth_wu_6.png
A notorious, ruthless, and wicked supernatural hunter who kills anything or anyone supernatural, even if they're good.
  • Asshole Victim: One of the biggest ones in the season, since her death was punishment for killing an innocent werewolf child.
  • Dark Action Girl: Being a ruthless supernatural hunter, this is a given.
  • Evil Counterpart: While she is this toward the whole team, she is mostly this to Gwen Harper as they both work as supernatural hunters. Where Gwen is friendlier and tries to help them, Ruth is more cold-hearted and is not afraid to kill them.
  • Karmic Death: She is killed by werewolf Sam Ellis for killing his werewolf pup son.
  • Mrs. Robinson: Ruth likes to date young men. She dated Case 4's victim Danny Kwame before finding out he was a werewolf.
  • Would Hurt a Child: This is what gets her killed. She murdered an innocent werewolf child for no good reason.
  • Van Helsing Hate Crimes: She hates all monsters and works to kill them all, whether they're innocent or not.

Falcon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/falconsupernatural.png
A supernatural hunter and the mentor of Jacob.
  • The Ace: Of Supernatural hunting that is.
  • Broken Pedestal: The complications behind Lily becoming the vessel for the Demon Queen became a sore point for Chief Arrow.

  • The Mentor: He was Jacob's mentor when Jacob first became a supernatural hunter. He then helps the Supernatural Hunters with defeating Zeke Davis. His mentoring is revealed to have been done to console Jacob and hide the truth behind Lily's death.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/annette_strong_supernatural_3.png
The alpha of a werewolf pack in the Rockies.

  • Interspecies Romance: Played with. When she was still a pure human, she dated Falcon, but after she was turned, she left him.]
  • Sacrificial Lion: She is murdered by Zeke Davis for the core of the magic tree.

Morgana Blackhawk

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/morganablackhawk_9.png
The head of the Midwestern witch coven.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: In her last appearance, she admits that she was having trouble being accepted by the demons of the Netherworld, and that's to say nothing of her ambiguous fate.
  • Arc Villain: Of the Midwest, having kidnapped children to eat them for power and having her sister killed for interfering.
  • Berserk Button: She did not take it well when she learned that the man she met online "Aiden" was actually Sharon Decker catfishing her in Case 18.
  • Cain and Abel: She masterminds Belinda's murder in Case 20 after the latter discovered her to be responsible for kidnapping children.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: She briefly appears in the Additional Investigation of Case 4, where she helps the team create an elixir to destroy the invincible vampire.
  • Deal with the Devil: Bartered with the demons to get new, demonic powers to replace her lost magic. As an initiation rite, the demons order her to kill Dolores Harper.
  • De-power: Felix strips her of her powers in Case 20 after she is discovered to have masterminded the kidnapping of several children and the murder of her sister. She manages to regain them back after making a deal with the demons.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Despite her being a powerful witch, Morgana has lines not meant to be crossed. This is also the reason she helps the hunters find the way to defeat the invincible vampire in the additional information of Case 4.
Morgana: Very well. But only because the idea of an invincible vampire basking in sunshine repulses me!
  • Evil Is Petty: Her motivation for killing Dolores was merely to spite the team's effort and save the demons time.
  • Hate Sink: She's initially presented as cold and dismissive before its revealed that she kidnapped children with the intent of consuming them for power. When that is discovered, she takes advantage of Heather Night to kill her sister for discovering this. Yet despite losing her power, she allies with the demons just to regain them, and rubs it in the team's face by murdering Gwen's mother.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Much like most witches have.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Her reason for kidnapping various children for Walpurgis Night, believing that it would increase her power. It results in her losing all of them.
  • Not So Above It All: As indicated by her being madly in love with someone on a dating site and getting catfished.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: It is never explained if she perished with the rest of the demons in Case 30 after the demon queen's defeat, or if she was left in the underworld.
  • Would Hurt a Child: She organized the scheme to kidnap children so the witches could eat them on Walpurgis Night.

Heather Night

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heather_night_7.png
A Wiccan waitress from over-conservative Parkford in Minnesota.

Avery Mitchell

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/averymitchellsupernatural_8.png
A teenage witch from Chicago, Illinois who becomes a good friend of Felix and an ally to the Supernatural Hunters.
  • Damsel in Distress: In Case 20, while attempting to find the missing children on Walpurgis Night, Avery gets caught by Morgana and Heather and promptly gets held captive with the children. Happens again when she is pursued by Gwen's mother trying to kill her.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Manages to confront Morgana and help get her stripped of her powers after Felix manages to rescue her and the rest of the kids.
  • Improbable Age: In spite of being only 15, she becomes a member of the Supernatural Alliance alongside many much older Supernatural beings.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: She becomes very good friends with Felix since her first appearance. This later extends to other team members, like Gwen.
  • Missing Mom: Her mom (who was also a witch) passed away sometime ago before the events of Supernatural Investigations.
  • Nice Girl: She is a very sweet girl, especially for a witch. She is was also friends with the victim of Case 17.

  • Quirky Curls: Avery's hair is very curly and natural.

  • Beauty Equals Goodness: She is quite pretty and is a witch.
  • Cain and Abel: Belinda did not quite get along with her older sister Morgana, and ends up murdered by Heather under Morgana's orders.
  • Defends Against Their Own Kind: Belinda was happy to support the Supernatural Hunters and help them search for the missing children kidnapped by her fellow witches.

  • Friend to All Children: Belinda worked at theme park Aquamarine City and was willing to help the Supernatural Hunters find the kidnapped children with her crystal ball.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: All she wanted was to help the Hunters find and rescue the missing children, and she was murdered for it.
  • Sacrificial Lion: She is murdered in Case 20 by Heather Night, who was used by Morgana after Belinda found out she was behind the kidnappings.
  • She Knows Too Much: Morgana had Heather kill Belinda after she finds out that Morgana was the mastermind behind the child abductions.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Introduced in Case 19 and then allies with the Hunters to rescue the children before the witches eat them on Walpurgis Night, only to be murdered the very next case.

Roxanne Vega

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rvegasupernatural.png
A vampire the team often encounters and the new head of the vampire coven after Dr Aculus' death.
  • The Aggressive Drug Dealer: Inverted. While Roxanne distributes party drugs, she lacks any sort of temper, instead using her charm to do so.
  • Asshole Victim: Besides her plan to help the demons enslave everyone on Earth that gets her killed, she had been openly disrespectful to Avery and Wendall, tried to flirt with an unwilling Zander and only used her son to enhance her own power.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Roxanne is a sexy and powerful vampire, but is not evil or wicked.
  • Face–Heel Turn: She was perfectly willing to help the demons enslave humanity, simply because it meant consolidating her power. It results in her death.
  • Fatal Flaw: Ambition. Roxanne uses disturbing ways in the hopes of gaining power, such as trying to drug the previous coven leader with her party drugs, or draining her son's blood to increase her coven's strength. When she decides to work with the demons to enslave the Earth, Fabien realizes that she's gone off the deep end and kills her.
  • Jumping Off the Slippery Slope: She starts off as a level-headed character despite her quirks. While its treated as a moment of shock at first, stealing her sons' blood to increase her coven's power foreshadows the fact that she's willing to collaborate with the demons just for the sake of power.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Just look at her. Taken a notch further in Case 22, where her costume consists of a very skimpy serpentine breastplate over a purple bra.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She has one of these moments after it is discovered that she had stolen Ronnie Hawk's blood for power.
  • Really Gets Around: She's stated to have had various lovers, one of whom she had a child with, and flirts with everyone she sees.
  • The Vamp: Mentions having being referred to as one in her first encounter.
  • Victim of the Week: She's the penultimate victim of the season.
  • You Are in Command Now: She becomes the vampire coven's leader after Dr. Aculus' murder.

Tilly Harper

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tilly_harper.png
Gwen's little sister who starts living with the Supernatural Hunters in the East.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: She starts to become this for Gwen while staying with her and the team.
  • Big Sister Worship: Starting from her debut in Case 23, she is shown to deeply adore her big sister Gwen.
  • Cheerful Child: She is a very sweet little girl.
  • Genki Girl: Quite the soul she is.
  • Like Mother, Unlike Daughter: She's very much like Gwen which causes her to run away from her mother to be with her sister.
  • Practically Different Generations: with her sister Gwen, who's 15 years older than her.
  • The Runaway: In the additional information of Case 23, she runs away from her family, for she had enough of her controlling mother and the family's racism towards Supernatural creatures and she wants to live her sister Gwen. This forces Dolores to begrudgingly allow the sisters to be together.
  • Tagalong Kid: In Case 23, Tilly starts staying with the Supernatural Hunters.
  • White Sheep: Much like her older sister, Tilly is a more open sweet girl who likes Supernatural creatures. Part of the reason she ran away was the fact that Dolores tried to force her to break her friendship with a Wiccan classmate.

Dolores Harper

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dharpersupernatural.png
A supernatural hunter in the same vein as Ruth Wu and the mother of Gwen and Tilly Harper.
  • Abusive Parents: She constantly chastises Gwen for being part of a pacifistic hunting group, citing that she is too emotional to be a hunter, and pushes her views onto her children. It is enough for Tilly to run away from her after she attempts to stop her from being friends with a Wiccan.
  • Action Mom: She has at least three children, which doesn't stop her from being a ruthless Supernatural Hunter.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: Despite her repugnant nature, Gwen and Tilly are distraught upon discovering her death, especially since it's revealed that Dolores had been trying to change her ways.
  • Control Freak: Tries to push her anti-supernatural views onto her children, enough for them to leave her as soon as possible.
  • Hate Sink: Dolores is a manipulative Control Freak towards her children and a Hypocrite in the sense that she is a witch who murders other supernatural beings. The majority of her appearances is spent insulting Gwen for her pacifistic views, believing that it is why she isn't suited to be a hunter. Her behavior towards Tilly for having a Wiccan friend isn't any better, and causes her to join Gwen shortly after.
  • Heel–Face Door-Slam: Through her diary, it was revealed she had began to see Gwen's pacifism and attempted to extend an olive branch to her daughters shortly before her death.
  • Hypocrite: Her hunting becomes this when its discovered that she herself is a witch.
  • Like Mother, Unlike Daughter: In contrast to Gwen, Dolores is against the supernatural and actively attempts to instill these beliefs in her children.
  • Tomato in the Mirror: Its discovered in Case 23 that she is a witch, something that Agnes Leek attempted to blackmail her with. Despite the revelation, Dolores continues to repress her identity.
  • Victim of the Week: Dolores ends up being the victim of Case 28.
  • Would Hurt a Child: In Case 23, she chases after Avery Mitchell, who is only 15 years old, with the intent of murdering her.

Theresa Rosenthal

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trosenthalsupernatural.png
An archaeology professor encountered in the East.
  • Accidental Murder: She accidentally murdered her student Dan Quang, by giving the amulet to him, not believing that there was an actual curse to it.
  • Murder by Suicide: Reggie Pratt drugged her with truth serum and then manipulated her into shooting herself in order to find out the location of the fifth key.
  • Sympathetic Murderer: Given that the circumstances behind the murder in Case 24 were completely accidental, and that Theresa herself is an honest character.
  • Victim of the Week: Right after being arrested, she's the victim of Case 25. However, her ghost then appears in the case as a suspect.
  • Walking Spoiler: She's the one person who knows about Rathimael's human identity and the fifth key, and ends up getting murdered as a result.

Martin Fuller

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mfullersupernatural.png
Also known as the "Tin Man", a drug dealer that the team keeps running into.
  • The Aggressive Drug Dealer: Inverted. He is willing to co-operate with the team, and actually helps them during their investigation into the disappearance of various children in the Midwest.
  • Hidden Depths: In case 27, it's revealed he wanted to put an end to his drug dealing to run a mechanical business.
  • In-Series Nickname: Called the Tin Man.

     Demon World *SPOILERS*

In General

  • Always Chaotic Evil: Besides Arthur and Rathimael, all of them think nothing about destroying humanity. It is implied that the rest of the good demons were apparently killed during or after the Enemy Civil War that took place 25 years prior. This also extends In-Universe, where even the other supernatural creatures see demons as the purest form of evil.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Most of the demons are red or orange in color, but purple, blue and green demons are also seen.
  • Bald of Evil: Besides Edwinata, all of them lack hair in their true form.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Save for Edwinata, all of the demons are mentioned or appear as early as the second arc of the game.
  • Horns of Villainy: All of them have twisted black horns.
  • Keystone Army: The demons derive their powers from their Queen. Sure enough, as soon as she is killed, the portal to earth immediately disappears and all the other demons die along with her.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: All of them have red eyes in their true form.

Demon Queen/Lily Arrow

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demon_queen_true_form.png
The queen of the demons, who is imprisoned in the body of pure fairy and Jacob Arrow's deceased wife Lily. Imprisoned for most of Supernatural Investigations, her loyal followers have been wreaking havoc in order to release her and bring her back to power.
  • Bad Boss: Given that she was imprisoned during an Enemy Civil War, she's quite obviously one. In her second appearance, the demon guard is worried that Arthur's death will result in him being punished, and she had set up a public humiliation for Maetheron for failing to capture Arthur.
  • Clipped-Wing Angel: After reverting to her true form, she is easily defeated by Hope.
  • Demonic Possession: Falcon and Rathimael exhumed Lily's body a week after her burial in order to act as the Demon Queen's vessel and weaken her enough to seal her.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Of Supernatural Investigations.
  • Keystone Army: All her demons get killed with her death.
  • The Lost Lenore: Lily was killed by vampires 25 years prior to the events of the season, her death leading to the formation of the Supernatural Hunters. Being a good fairy, her body was then used to imprison the demon queen.
  • Meaningful Name: 'Lily' is quite a fitting name for a good fairy as it is nature-related. However, there is also the red spider lily that is also called 'hell flower' as it is said to only grow in hell.
  • No Name Given: Her demon name, that is. All the other demons aside from Zeke Davis have exotic names, but the Demon Queen is never referred to once by her own name, if she even had any.
    • Given the body she was in, it is likely to be 'Lilith'.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: Lily was actually a pure fairy who had her wings cut off, unbeknownst to Jacob. Her status as pure was why her body was used to seal the demon queen.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: In contrast to the other demons, Lily's eyes are blood red with black sclerae, and surrounded by red veins.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Imprisoned by Demon rebels in a pocket dimension. Her minions were searching for the keys that keep the prison locked, but by the time the Hunters have realized this, there was only one (of five) remaining.
  • Someone Has to Die: Falcon and Rathimael plotted Lily's murder due to the fact that a pure fairy body was needed to imprison the demon queen.

Aratoth/Arthur Darkwood

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/adarkwoodsupernatural.png
A novelist who often writes his fictional stories based on supernatural events, unknowing how real it all is. In reality, he's actually a demon protecting the Supernatural Hunters from other demons.
  • Ascended Demon: Well, he doesn't turn into an angel, he's not at all evil. In fact, he actually helps the Supernatural Hunters out at times!
  • Big Damn Heroes: Saves the player from their battle with Zeke Davis in Case 15 by stabbing him with a sword, thus sending him back to the underworld.
  • Big Good: Of the season, being the one protecting the team from the demons.
  • Blue Is Heroic: His skin is blue as a demon, befitting his nature. He also wears a blue T-shirt while disguised.
  • Cain and Abel: The Abel to Reggie's Cain, as they were revealed to have been brothers in Case 30.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Initially appears in a few cases before being revealed to be a benevolent demon in the Rockies.
  • Convenient Coma: Out of commission in the final days of the Demon Civil War, this leaves him with very little information to go on with what happened to his ally Rathimael.
  • Defector from Decadence: He was once the Demon Queen's right-hand man, even having her question Zeke's loyalty at one point. When the Queen suggested razing the Earth, he immediately defected and led the rebellion against her, thus triggering the season's Enemy Civil War.
  • Defends Against Their Own Kind: Upon being revealed to a demon in the Rockies, he states that he's defending the Supernatural Hunters from being targeted by other demons. He also manages to defeat Zeke Davis in Wyoming.
  • Devil in Disguise: Revealed to be the demon that had been collaborating with the werewolf leader in the Rockies.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: In his human form, which fits both his demon origins and horror novelist job.
  • Forgotten Fallen Friend: After his murder is solved and the secret to defeating the queen is found, Arthur isn't mentioned at all in spite of his alliance with the team and protecting them for several cases.
  • Good All Along: Even though he was the demon in an alliance with Annette's wolf pack, he actually had decent intentions in mind.
  • Meaningful Name: His alias's first name, Arthur, references his career as an author.
  • Mr. Exposition: He informs the Hunters of the Great Offscreen War that was critical to Season 7's Myth Arc.
  • Nice Guy: He's rather affable and friendly. Unlike Zeke Davis, this isn't an act.
  • Older Than They Look: For someone who's 34, he could very easily pass for a teenager. Being a demon in disguise might have something to do with it.
  • Quirky Curls: Befitting his status as a macabre writer. Only in his human disguise — like all other demons, his true form is bald.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: His normally brown eyes turn completely red after telling the team to stay away from the magic tree in Yellowstone.
  • Red Herring: He isn't actually the demon that had been summoned five years prior to the season.
  • Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: Why he escaped to Earth and hid as a novelist. Sadly, fate catches up on him at the end.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Zeke's red in a metaphorical and literal sense.
  • Token Good Teammate: Of the demons.
  • Victim of the Week: He's kidnapped in Case 29, and ends up being the final victim of the season.

Zeke Davis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zdavissupernatural.png
An environmentalist the team encounters throughout the Southwest.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Even though he was defeated by Darkwood and banished back to the netherworld, Zeke did manage to find one of the keys to the Queen's seal.
  • Beard of Evil: His goatee stands out more after his demonic reveal.
  • Big Red Devil: Fits the bill in his demon form.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He appears as a friendly and innocent environmentalist before being revealed as the demon the team was searching for.
  • The Cameo: The title card for The Keys to the Kingdom Additional Investigations feature Zeke in his demon form, even though he doesn't even appear in that district itself.
  • Devil in Disguise: After being revealed as the killer of Annette Strong in Case 15, he reveals himself to be the demon summoned five years prior.
  • Didn't Think This Through: He manages to slay Arthur and gain his blood, the thing needed to awaken the Demon Queen's power, hoping to save the Earth for himself. Unfortunately, the person he gives the blood to happens to be Jacob, whose wife's body is used to seal the Queen.
  • The Dragon: To the demon queen.
    • Dragon Ascendant: Intended to become this by preventing the Queen from destroying the Earth, simply wanting the resources for himself.
  • Evil Gloating: After dropping his act, he starts bragging about his victory in achieving the tree core and his murder of Annette. He continues to do so in his final appearance.
  • Evil Redhead: He retains his ginger goatee as a demon.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: He guises as a dorky, if oddly aloof environmentalist, with a soft stop for lizards.
  • Friend to All Living Things: He is a complete lizard fanboy, and is quite amazed by seeing the lizard monster in Montana.
  • Hero Killer: He murders Arthur in the final case to safe-keep his blood and protect the Earth from being destroyed.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: He killed Arthur to stop the Queen from razing the Earth, but only because he had grown fond of the abundance of resources at his disposal and feeling superior to the lifeforms on it.
  • Karmic Death: He gets stabbed by a demon guard after revealing he stole Arthur's blood to stop Earth from being annihilated.
  • No Honor Among Thieves: He attempts to foil the Queen's plan by keeping Arthur's blood for himself, believing that destroying the Earth would result in him losing all its resources.
  • One-Night-Stand Pregnancy: Case 14 reveals that the victim was his father, but filed a restraining order after he came to confront him about it. Although considering the revelation that comes just a case later, it is probable that Zeke had lied.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Zeke's real name is never revealed.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: He doesn't want the demons to conquer the world for honorable reasons; he just wants the resources all to himself.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Arthur's blue in a metaphorical and literal sense.
  • Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: Right after admitting to trying to stop the Queen's plan, he gets stabbed by a guard for his treachery.
  • The Reveal: He's the demon that Abigail Riley's friends summoned five years ago.
  • The Starscream: He attempts to disrupt his master's plans of destroying Earth since he enjoyed the resources and the feeling of superiority that he had during his time there.
  • They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: References this upon being confronted in Case 15, stating that no one would suspect a do-gooder such as an environmentalist as being a demon.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Perhaps it isn't a good idea to trust in a vulnerable chief hunter, especially one who is convinced his late wife still lives within the demon queen, with the final thing needed for her plan. Even more so when you have encountered him numerous times and admit to reading their minds.
  • We Used to Be Friends: The final case reveals that both he and Arthur were this when the latter had climbed his way up to being one of the demon queen's most loyal followers.

Maetheron/George Mathison

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gmathisonsupernatural.png
An FBI agent who has been keeping an eye on the Supernatural Hunters and makes several appearances during cases.
  • A Day in the Limelight: He gets to be the player's partner for the entirety of Case 25.
  • Friend on the Force: Becomes the Hunters' ally on the side of the law.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: Once the Supernatural Hunters gain his trust, he covers for them with his FBI connections and even helps do some analyses. He also becomes the player's partner in Case 25, which takes place in FBI headquarters.
  • Green and Mean: In his true demon form, his colour is green.
  • Inspector Javert: He always suspects the Supernatural Hunters of doing something shady, but he's just doing his job as an FBI agent.
  • The Mole: Revealing himself to be the demon Maetheron, he also reveals to be this not only towards the Supernatural Hunters but the FBI too on orders of the queen!
  • The Reveal: He turns out to be the demon Maetheron in disguise.
  • Sixth Ranger Traitor: Well, he doesn't exactly join the team, but it's revealed in the final case he's actually a demon, AND he snuck into the FBI just to find Arthur! Too bad somebody got to Arthur first...
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Since the Hunters keep running into him in their cases, it was only inevitable that he got suspicious of their secretive activities. The Hunters have to let him in on The Masquerade to get him off their backs.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After witnessing the ghost of Abigail Riley, he apologizes for his abrasiveness towards the team and releases Jacob from custody. As a result, he uses his position to help the team later on.

Rathimael/Bob Nelson

A demon rebel and ally of Arthur Darkwood, who created the five keys keeping the Queen locked up in the Demon World.
  • Defiant to the End: He never divulged any information on his keys, even though he was tortured to death by the Demon Queen's followers. In hindsight, this also makes him a Papa Wolf.
  • Disappeared Dad: To Hope, and it was a Cynicism Catalyst for her to go into a Supernatural line of work.
  • Murder by Cremation: He was burned to death by the Demon Queen's followers. The severity was enough that the only clues were an ancient coin and traces of sulfur around his body.
  • Posthumous Character: He was killed sometime before the start of the series.
  • Purple Is Powerful: His true form is implied to have had purple skin.
  • Red Baron: During his human life on Earth, he was referred to as "The Pilgrim".

Helmaer/Reggie Pratt

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reggieprattsupernatural.png
An occult dealer who is aware of supernatural creatures and tries to keep them secret from the public.
  • Arc Villain: He's part of a Big Bad Ensemble in the Midwest as the demon giving Gwen nightmares, and in the East Coast he has also been searching for Rathimael's final key without the Hunters knowing.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Like Zeke he succeeds in his mission to find Rathimael's final key, and releasing his Queen in the process.
  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to his brother Arthur's Abel.
  • Childhood Friends: With Case 4's victim Danny Kwame from middle school. When Danny became a werewolf, Reggie was happy to help him and his new pack.
  • Didn't Think This Through: He attempts to frame his murder of Theresa as a suicide, but leaves behind a hastily-written and contradictory psychological evaluation with boxes being randomly ticked. Particularly, it claims Theresa's mind was blocked despite having an active thought process. It doesn't help that Theresa wasn't on suicide watch to begin with.
  • Fat Bastard: Compared to Zeke, Reggie appears to be a heavyweight, and his methods of gaining information through Mind Rape are way crueler.
  • For Halloween, I Am Going as Myself: It retroactively becomes a hint to his true nature that he dresses up as a demon for the Supernatural Ball.
  • Henpecked Husband: In Case 4, Reggie says he was charging the werewolves because his wife was forcing him to, and she kept making him raise it higher.
  • Mind Rape: He is the one who gave Gwen nightmares in the Midwest. He does the same to Theresa Rosenthal, which ends up getting him caught.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: Starts as a security guard before selling occult items in his second appearance and finally becomes an FBI informant in his last two. His constant job changes are a subtle hint of his true nature.
  • Pet the Dog: For all his faults, he was the only demon in the Underworld to show Morgana any kindness.

Edwinata/Edwina Pickles

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epicklessupernatural.png
A housekeeper the Supernatural Hunters meet during case 27.
  • Affably Evil: In Case 30, she acts welcoming towards the team and even apologizes when her hellhound attempts to attack them.
  • Almighty Janitor: Disguises herself as the housekeeper of a criminal's lighthouse mansion in order to hide the fact that it's really a demon portal.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Is fully aware that she and the demons are evil.
  • Non-Mammalian Hair: The only one who still has her hair in her true demon form while the other demons (except for Arthur) are Bald of Evil in their true forms.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Unlike other demons the Supernatural Hunters encountered, her demon form is purple.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Her eyes go red when she is identified as the killer, causing her to reveal her true form.
  • Shout-Out: She's a blatant parody of Mrs. Doyle, right down to her obsession with tea and use of "go on", the Catchphrase of Mrs. Doyle.
  • Steven Ulysses Per Hero: Her human alias is just a shortened version of her real name.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Tea. Her diary is implied to be rambling about various tea flavors, and her hellhound is even called Darjeeling. Arthur actually mocked her obsession in one of his books. Her teacup is also on fire in her true form.
