- USA: TV-Y7-FV
- Canada: G (a few episodes are rated C8 on iTunes)
- Australia: G (TV, IMDB notes it was heavily edited), PG (DVD)
- New Zealand: G (TV, apparently used the Australian TV edit), PG (DVD)
- UK: PG (TV), U and sometimes PG (online)
- Ireland: PG
The examples also bring up the Spanish and Portuguese dubs, so:
- Mexico: All ages; does allow for some minor allusions to sex and drugs, and non-imitatable violence. (Source in Spanish)
- Argentina: All ages; Wikipedia says this does allow for mild references to sex, drugs, and violence. IMDB notes that the Argentinian broadcast is censored.
- Chile: I (for children; IMDB mentions it was censored)
- Colombia: 7 (Internal Netflix rating, which does not correspond to the Colombian government age ratings; appears to be based on Spanish government ratings. IMDB notes it is censored)
- Spain: TP (all ages) (TV), 7 (online); IMDB mentions it is censored, so it's probably the Mexican dub
- Brazil: L (all ages; IMDB notes it is censored)
- Portugal: T (all ages, industry standard; no mention of censorship but this is possibly the Brazilian dub)
Things being cut overseas just means that foreign radars have different standards.
"Nipples": [citation needed] . The shows did run concurrently, so the standards were likely the same. Is there a source on Adventure Time not being allowed to use that word?
manboobs: That's probably OK; Nipple and Dimed is a trope, after all. Tit censorship is... pretty weird and inconsistent.
"The Colossus": The TV-Y7-FV rating allows for this kind of thing.
Gumball threatening Leslie in "The Flower" falls under FV.
Jockstraps, and underwear in general, fall under gross humour; this is TV-Y7-FV compliant.
"The Man" and "The Singing" sound more like someone forgetting to do the maths (and Mrs Jotunheim might just be lying about her age); it only counts if it was an intentional flouting of the rules.
Carp vs crap: Carp is a real word, and different to crap. They're not saying "crap". They're saying "carp". Not GCPTR.
Nicole's panty shot does look deliberate, but it might also fall under Comedic Underwear Exposure.
The disembodied sperm voices are pushing it, but I still think that's just DIH. Kids are aware that it takes a daddy as well as a mommy to make a baby, so if a kid who hasn't had The Talk yet were to see that, they'd more likely assume the voices are of babies who have yet to be conceived; in other words, whose ages are negative.
"Sucks": Yeah, no. "Sucks" has been used by children for decades, it's not an unsuitable word despite what may be thought by the troper who added that example.

Ukrainian Red Cross
The Radar page for AT references Adam Muto saying the word "nurp" was a substitute for S+P not allowing them to say "nipple" but I can't find any source on that.
I personally think "using a word as a substitute for a different word banned by the censor when it sounds extremely similar to the original word and is meant to be a pun on that word specifically" should be enough to edge over to GCPTR. It's a way to say "crap" without actually saying "crap" and it's not even a traditional euphemism in this context as it's part of a Hurricane of Puns. But I understand that might be a personal wonk.
The Panty Shot could be a mix of GCPTR and Comedic Underwear Exposure right? Though the latter feels like it'd require more attention to truly be a gag. TAWOG has used the latter trope but only for kids in a nonsexual manner.
Kids also use the words "fuck" and "shit" constantly. And networks can ban even tamer language than "sucks," like "shut up." The important thing: is the word "suck/sucks" banned by Cartoon Network's Y7 shows?
Everything else we can migrate to a subpage for DIH... though the namespace title should probably be shortened.
God, I hate that we don't have a catchy namespace for that new trope. (Of course I also hate its long-ass inconvenient name with a deep passion.)

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. How about Inappropriate/ for the namespace?
Ukrainian Red CrossThat could work.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Better yet: Get rid of the namespace. Its existence is a hole that encourages people to fill it with Accidental Innuendo. If after the cleanup it turns out that examples are still widespread, we can reintroduce it. But a rename is making assumptions that are not certain to be borne out by the post-cleanup state of the page.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell, I already went through seven seasons of a page and found several examples of one show that qualify for DIH, enough that listing them on the YMMV page would get too long. The entire point of that item was to catch GCPTR misuse to prevent it from being shoehorned into GCPTR further.
It doesn't need to be a main namespace again... but like any trope, if there's a lot of examples, it's going to naturally need to be split off. I was only asking for a shorter title under the impression that the trope name combined with the work name would be too long (DemographicallyInappropriateHumor. The Amazing World Of Gumball). But it looks like it might work there.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe....Honestly, I agree with Septimus.
... so anyway.
I think that using "carp" in place of "crap" falls under the same umbrella as "Sugar!" for "Shit!" and "Fudge!" for "Fuck!" It's a replacement for a dirty word which is not dirty itself, and so does not trigger the radar.
This is what Nicole apparently looks like; gonna be honest, I doubt anyone is going to find her panties arousing in the absence of some sort of fetish. I agree that one's a bit of an edge case, but I'm leaning on the side of "not unacceptable".
As for "sucks", in the absence of any evidence that the CN censors consider it strong language, I would say it's not an example.
There are some strong opinions against making a DIH namespace right now, so maybe just give Gumball a dedicated folder.
Ukrainian Red Cross"Sugar"/"shit" is a false equivalency since the point here is that it is part of a Hurricane of Puns using fish words that sound like other words ("We know" becomes "Minnow," etc.) But I'll concede. I just thought it would count as an example of getting crap past the radar since it only makes sense if you know the word "crap" (unlike "fudge" which can work as an Unusual Euphemism devoid of penny context).
Oh sweet summer child. Nicole has... a special fandom. One the show has even acknowledged before, I think. I found the panty shot linked from sites like Fur Affinity and 4chan. Besides, the point isn't whether others would find the panty shot arousing, it's whether the censors would get rid of it if they knew about it.
Also there is precedent for CN disallowing "sucks" on even other PG shows but that was 2007 so the standards were likely different. I need to look more into if modern Y7 shows get censored.
Do we still give folders on trope pages to entire works? I thought thought was a depreciated practice. Also, using a trope name as a namespace for a subpage is not giving it a "dedicated namespace," it is simply making a subpage when there are too many examples to list on main. Alternative Character Interpretation is not a standard namespace, but pages like AlternativeCharacterInterpretation.South Park exist. The only reason I asked about a shortened namespace was due to a misconception that the page would be too long to edit, due to that earlier issue with the character limit on video trope sources.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. Also, I still don't see why we let the Radar subpages stay open and editable without going over them. People are still adding shoehorns.
I'm probably gonna make the move to DemographicallyInappropriateHumour. The Amazing World Of Gumball in the next few days and then cutlist its GCPTR subpage. Then maybe I'll look over other CN and Nick pages.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I've been meaning to get to the Victorious page when I have the time, I just...haven't had time.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThat one's been on my watchlist for years as an artifact of my tween interest. It and its sibling pages are... uncomfortable reads. Definitely lots of Demographically Inappropriate Humour in Schneider shows but some of the entries skew towards fetishizing Accidental Innuendo. Usually fetishizing teens in the process.
(The crowner: I recall an entry on Radar.Victorious that listed "Gotta love big moms" as an entry because of "porn categories." I didn't get it as a kid and I still just barely get it at 21.)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. That's such a reach, even Mr. Fantastic can't reach it.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI support Inappropriate/ for the namespace, both because it's more concise and because it's region-neutral. If we use the full name, there will inevitably be Americans defaulting to the "Humor" spelling.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.I know I end up doing that both because I'm American and because it's shorter.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. Why not DIH/ ? So it can't be shoehorned with anything the viewer finds inappropriate? Not suggesting there will be enough examples for a namespace to be necessary.
Sounds too nondincative for such a new trope name.
We can just use the full trope name for now and move the Gumball examples and worry later.
There should be a sizable number of examples since this was made specifically to catch the most common usage of GCPTR that's now misuse.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Though I am a Canadian (I personally use the "humour" spelling), DIH should be spelled the American way ("humor") as more than half of TV Tropes readers and Tropers are American.
Edited by Nen_desharu on May 20th 2021 at 11:57:38 AM
Kirby is awesome.Uh, not really. We have commonwealth spelling redirects for a reason- so people who don't spell the American way can use their way. (And Vice Versa.)
Also, that title is too clunky anyway and I don't want to see overly-long page glitches occur just because the namespace is too long.
Edited by WarJay77 on May 20th 2021 at 12:01:16 PM
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessFair enough.
The title still needs to be shortened regardless.
Edited by Nen_desharu on May 20th 2021 at 12:00:50 PM
Kirby is awesome. Not having a better, shorter title idea to suggest in the TLP is one of my biggest regrets.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. What would you have suggested if you could TLP it over again?
I don't even have a better name idea... that's what's frustrating most of all.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
I kinda wanna look at The Amazing World Of Gumball. Luckily most of this isn't really shoehorning by the previous definition, so a lot of the content can probably be moved to Demographically Inappropriate Humor and Parental Bonus (the former may even warrant its own subpage — we could move the page image there).
For some bonus context, here's a list of ways the show has been censored, so we have an idea of what is and isn't allowed in certain countries.
