Heroes
Link
The Hero of Hyrule, who sets off to liberate Koridai. Unfortunately, he gets captured in the other two games, requiring Zelda to take up his usual mantle.
- '80s Hair: This Link has ridiculously big, poofy hair and sideburns.
- Badbutt: He has blonde '80s Hair, makes occasional use of Gosh Dang It to Heck!, and is always eager to fight monsters.
- Beware the Silly Ones: Despite this Link being goofier than in the main series, he does still save the island of Koridai from Ganon's forces. By throwing a book at him, no less.
- Big Eater:
- Implied. When King Harkinian brings up dinner, Link states that he's so hungry, he could eat an Octorock.
- Later, Harbanno the Baker mentions that Link could eat 10 loaves of bread, to which Zelda laughs and adds "at least!".
- At the end of Wand of Gamelon, he's delighted at the prospect of a feast after the adventure.
- Bunny-Ears Lawyer: In Faces of Evil specifically, where he's as big of a goofball as ever, but is nonetheless competent enough to get the job done. Averted in Wand of Gamelon, where he fails in his mission and somehow gets sealed in a magic mirror.
- The Chosen One: In Faces of Evil, according to Gwonam's scroll, he's directly stated to be the only hero capable of defeating Ganon and returning Koridai to harmony. Most of the time Ganon's defeat is tied to Link wielding the Master Sword or being tied to another third of the Triforce, but in this prophecy, it's pretty specific...Gwonam: It is written, only Link can defeat Ganon.
- Distressed Dude: In Wand of Gamelon, Link is captured by Ganon after an unsuccessful mission to rescue King Harkinian; who trapped him inside Lady Alma's mirror, with Zelda accidentally releasing him after being annoyed by Alma. In Zelda's Adventure, he's captured by Ganon before he makes his attack on Tolemac.
- Gosh Darn It to Heck!: He likes to say "gee" and "golly".
- Heroes Prefer Swords: As is tradition for Link, he starts out with just his sword and shield. By using things like the Fire Diamond and the Crystal Of Reflection, he can upgrade them into the stronger Fire Sword and Reflecting Shield; granting him a permanent Sword Beam and the ability to deflect Lupay's spells.
- Jumped at the Call: Because Victory Is Boring for Link, and he wonders what Ganon was up to in The Faces of Evil, he immediately follows Gwonam when he bring news of Ganon being up to no good.Link: Great! I'll grab my stuff!
- Keet: Far more dorky and happy-go-lucky than most of Nintendo's official depictions of Link, to the point where he could even give Toon Link a run for his money."And when I'm crouching, you can make me do the Duck Walk! Cool, huh?"
- Motivational Kiss: Link tries to get one from Zelda. She refuses.
- Red/Green Contrast: Has a green hat and tunic, as to be expected from any incarnation of Link, but also reddish-brown sleeves and tights; like the official art of his Zelda II: The Adventure of Link self.
- Suddenly Voiced: Link: Faces of Evil and Zelda: Wand of Gamelon are the first —and so far, only— games where Link has been fully voiced. He appears at the end of Zelda's Adventure, but doesn't speak.
- Thrill Seeker: Possibly. He complains about how boring it is that Hyrule is now in peacetime, wondering what schemes Ganon is planning, and practically leaps at the chance to go on a new adventure.
- Victory Is Boring: He says it best at the start of The Faces of Evil..."Gee, it sure is boring around here!"
- You Just Had to Say It: The moment Link admits that he wonders what Ganon is up to, it immediately turns out that he and his minions have seized the island of Koridai.
Princess Zelda
The Princess of Hyrule and daughter of King Harkinian. During the incident in Koridai, she ends up kidnapped, but in the other two games serves as the main protagonist.
- Adaptational Badass: She's far less of a Damsel in Distress here than in the canonical games.
- Action Girl: Lampshaded by her."Aren't you a might puny to go up against Ganon?"
"I'll do alright." - Badass in Distress: She might beat Ganon at Wand of Gamelon in one hit, but he still kidnaps her in Faces of Evil.
- Barefoot Captives: When Link rescues Zelda at the end of Faces of Evil, she has bare feet.
- Damsel in Distress: Only in The Faces of Evil, where she is captured by Ganon while she was sleeping.
- Good Is Not Soft: She justifies killing Hektan when he calls her out for it with a simple "Good.", given how evil he was.
- Magic Wand: Her main weapon in Zelda's Adventure. It functions exactly like the sword of other Zelda games, although it can also launch various projectiles if Zelda has the right items.
- Motivational Kiss: Defied. "You have got to be kidding."
- Pretty Princess Powerhouse: Fights for herself in Wand of Gamelon.
- Psychotic Smirk: She smiles a rather smug grin after killing Hektan.
- Smiting Evil Feels Good: She takes pleasure in killing Hektan, calling his death "good." She also happily says "Got him!" when she kills Omfak.
- Suddenly Voiced: The first time she was fully voiced in a game, though it wouldn't be the last.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: After not hearing from her father and Link for months, she decides to travel to Gamelon herself to save them.
- You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Says this near-verbatim when Link tries to solicit a "kiss, for luck" from her.
King Harkinian
The King of Hyrule and Zelda's father. He takes a proactive stance in dealing with Koridai and Gamelon's problems and serves as the Big Good.
- Adipose Rex: He's got quite the hearty gut below his robes, and of course, he's the king of Hyrule.
- Age Lift: He looks between ten to twenty years younger in these games than he did in The Legend of Zelda cartoon.
- Big Good: He is the King of Hyrule, so Link, Zelda and Impa answer to him. Also, for a King of Hyrule, he has a big role.
- Cool and Unusual Punishment: He sentences Duke Onkled to "scrub all the floors in Hyrule" for betraying him. Most monarchs in real life would have had traitors executed so Onkled got off pretty easy. The German translation also shortens his workload, since the King orders him to scrub the floors of just the castle instead of the entire kingdom.
- Distressed Dude: He's captured by Ganon in Wand Of Gamelon.
- The Good King:
- He is actually a pretty good leader of Hyrule. In The Faces of Evil, he hears that Koridai is under attack and immediately asks what he can do to help and in The Wand of Gamelon, he goes to Gamelon himself to help Duke Onkled instead of sending someone else, only having Link sent as a last resort.
- He also sentences Duke Onkled to cleaning the floors of all Hyrulean residents which, while grueling and embarrassing for a duke, is actually a very lenient punishment considering that the high treason he exhibited would have definitely got him executed without hesitation in real life.
- If I Do Not Return: In Wand of Gamelon, he goes to the titular kingdom to aid the duke against Ganon's forces, ordering for Link to be sent if he is not heard from in a month.
- Informed Ability: Unlike Zelda, Link thinks he is more than a match for Ganon in Wand of Gamelon, despite there being no indication that the King would be fit to battle him. The only clue would be the possibility of him being a former warrior himself, when taking his dialogue in Faces of Evil into account.Harkinian: My boy, this peace is what all true warriors strive for!
[...]
Link: "That old Ganon's no match for the King!" - Modest Royalty: He wears a simple yellow robe and a simple small crown, which is a sharp contrast to the duke who wears a pimped-out robe, a ridiculous amount of jewelry, and a massive crown.
- Nice Guy: The King is generally a nice person with a good sense of humor.
- Parents in Distress: Ends up getting captured by Ganon and Duke Onkled for a whole month in Wand Of Gamelon and gets saved by Zelda.
- Rank Scales with Asskicking: Subverted. He turns out to be no match for Ganon, coupled with Duke Onkled betraying him. He still is a very active king of Hyrule though.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: When Gwonam informs him that Ganon has taken over Koridai, he immediately asks how Hyrule can help, only backing down when Gwonam informs him that Link must go alone to stop Ganon. When he hears Duke Onkled is in trouble, he goes to Gamelon himself to aid him and told Zelda to only send Link after him if she doesn't hear from him in a month. Sadly it's his initial helpfulness that leads to Onkled betraying him and turning him over to Ganon which kicks off the story of "Wand of Gamelon".
- Signature Laugh: "OAHOHOHOHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
- Thinking Tic: He does a thinking pose as he thinks of a way to save the Island of Koridai from Ganon.Harkinian: Hmmm... How can we help?
- Wine Is Classy: He is sometimes seen carrying a big grail of wine.
Impa
An attendant of the Hyrule royal family who communicates with the Triforce of Wisdom.
- Ascended Extra: Believe it or not, this is actually Impa's first in-game appearance. Prior to Wand of Gamelon, she had only appeared in the enclosed instruction book for the two NES Zelda games.
- Exact Words: According to her, the Triforce of Wisdom promises that the King will safely return. What the Triforce didn't tell Impa, is that Zelda would have to rescue him.
- Cool Old Lady: Comforts Zelda after her father has gone missing and is completely fine with Zelda waking her in the middle of the night to search for him.
- Crystal Ball: She uses her Triforce of Wisdom as this, allowing her to see past events and predict the future, the latter not being always precise and clear with its predictions.
- Exposition Fairy: In Wand of Gamelon, she shows everything that happens through the Triforce of Wisdom.
Gwonam
An old magic wielder who warns the heroes about Ganon's invasion of Koridai, and transports Link there to defeat him.
- Amazing Technicolor Population: For some reason, his skin is a light olive color. It's possibly supposed to be an Arabian or Mediterranean skin tone that didn't translate well due to the CD-I's restrictive color palette.
- Canon Foreigner: Doesn't appear in any other Zelda games.
- Ethnic Magician: He's a magic user with a Middle-Eastern appearance, looking very different to all the other characters.
- Exposition Fairy: In Faces of Evil. He was the one who warns of Ganon's return and explains that only Link can defeat him.
- Fantasy Counterpart Culture: Appears to be the Hylian/Koridian equivalent of Middle-Eastern.
- Herald: He flies in on his carpet from nowhere, explains the plot to everyone, then flies Link to Koridai apropos of nothing.
- Magic Carpet: Flies one for transport. That's how he brought Link to Koridai.
- Mr. Exposition: He's the one who informs the player and Link about Ganon's attack on Koridai, Link's prophecized role in defeating the evil king, and also explaining what each of Ganon's minions do to Koridians.
- Number Two: To the King in Faces Of Evil.
- Perfectly Cromulent Word: "Squadalah!"
- Pointy Ears: Like every Koridian, he has pointy ears like Hylians.
- Wizard Beard: Has a long gray beard and has a few magic powers like making scrolls appear.
- Wizard Classic: Arabian nights variant complete with a turban and Magic Carpet.
Antagonists
Ganon
The archenemy of Link and Zelda who serves as the main antagonist of all three games. Here, he decides to avoid attacking Hyrule directly and threatens the lands of Koridai, Gamelon and Tolemac.
- Adaptational Wimp: Unlike most versions of Ganon, he can be killed in a single hit in the side-scrolling games. Averted in Zelda's Adventure, where he puts up a good fight.
- Anything but That!: "No! Not into the pit! It buuuuuurns!"
- Big Bad: He is the main villain of all three CD-i games.
- Big "NO!": At the end of Wand of Gamelon. He yells one, then promises the heroes that he shall return.
- Big Red Devil: In Zelda's Adventure, Ganon looks like a giant horned devil due to the game being developed by a different studio than the other two.
- Evil Is Hammy: You would have to be if you want to compete in the CDi world."YOU DARE BRING LIGHT INTO MY LAIR?! YOU MUST DIE!"
- Evil Sounds Deep: He's the main antagonist, and he has a deep, booming voice.
- Join or Die: When he offers Link to join him."Join me, Link, and I will make your face the grrreatest in Koridai, or else you will die!"
- Large Ham: See Evil Is Hammy above. Pretty much everything he says is delivered with absolute gusto.
- One-Hit-Point Wonder: A single hit from either game's respective MacGuffin is all that's needed to defeat him.
- Prepare to Die: He wasn't amused to see Zelda bring light to his lair, immediately uttering "You must die!".
- Rhymes on a Dime: In Faces of Evil, most of his dialogue rhymes."In the darkest nightmare hour, when not sun or moon has risen, I take Zelda in my power, I shall keep her in my prison!"
- Shock and Awe: Shoots bolts of lightning from his hands when Zelda comes into his lair with a lantern.
- Silence, You Fool!: Towards Lord Kiro.
- We Can Rule Together: He offers to make Link a Face of Evil like his other minions if he joins him, and even greater than theirs. Or else Link will die.
- We Will Meet Again: His quote upon defeat in Wand of Gamelon."Ahh, the chains! NOOOO! You haven't seen the last of me!"
- You Don't Look Like You: In Zelda's Adventure he's a big and intimidating demonic monster in contrast with his cartoony look from the other two CD-I games.
- Ambiguous Gender: There is no real indication of their gender since they are never referred by any pronoun and they are a wolf person. They do have a raspy voice that sounds a bit feminine but some other dubs give them a more masculine one.
- Cold Ham: They hardly raise their voice, but Lupay still comes across as hammy due to their dramatic diction and Evil Gloating.
- Conjoined Eyes: They seems to have rather Sonic the Hedgehog-like eyes. If you look at their animations frame-by-frame, the space "between" their eyes is constantly changing between gray and white, as if the colorists couldn't decide whether their eyes were conjoined or not.
- Climax Boss: Is the penultimate boss in Faces Of Evil, and considered by Gwonam to be "the most dangerous of Ganon's minions".
- Evil Sounds Raspy: They are one of the most dangerous monsters in the game, and their voice has a sinister rasp.
- Recurring Boss: The only Faces of Evil boss besides Ganon to avert this.
- Reforged into a Minion: Their introduction cutscene shows them transforming a Koridian into one of their Moblin henchmen.
- Takes One to Kill One: Can only be killed by deflecting their own lasers back at them.
- Third Eye: Lupay has a third eye in the middle of their head. It is how Lupay fires their energy beams during the boss fight.
- Wolf Man: Is a humanoid wolf.
- Bright Is Not Good: He may dress in gaudy pinks, purples, and reds, but he's still a Villainous Harlequin.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: He pops and deflates like a balloon, leaving a lifeless, deflated skin. Even Link seems shocked by this, considering that all he says is "Golly!"
- Cutscene Power to the Max: In his pre-fight cut scene, he has the power to disappear and re-appear at will, but he never uses that power when you fight him.
- Death Dealer: Runs a crooked casino to rope people into becoming his henchmen.
- Dub Personality Change: He goes from a Sore Loser in the original English game, where he groans "Lucky shot!" upon being defeated, to a Graceful Loser in the French translation, where he instead says "Nice shot!".
- Fat Bastard: An obese Pig Man who is one of the evil Ganon's highest-ranking minions.
- Graceful Loser: In the French translation, when Link defeats him, he tells him "Nice shot." before dying.
- Magical Clown: Can turn Koridians into his minions.
- Monster Clown: A harlequin pig who turns ruined Koridians into his minions.
- Pig Man: A pig humanoid that preys on Koridians' greed.
- Recurring Boss: Is first fought at his Harlequin Bazaar, and then again in Lupay's area.
- Reforged into a Minion: His introduction cutscene involves him transforming a Koridian into one of his henchman.
- Sore Loser: When Link defeats him, he tells him "Lucky shot!" before dying.
- Teleport Spam: "Now you see me... and now you don't!" However, he only teleports in a cutscene, and not in gameplay.
- Villainous Harlequin: He's an evil harlequin. It's right there in his name.
- Wicked Heart Symbol: A Villainous Harlequin with big red hearts on his shoulder pads. One of these hearts is actually the source of the magic power he uses to transform Koridians into minions.
- Ass-Kicking Pose: Before his and Link's fight.
- Badass Boast: Compared to the other one-liners that the bosses say, his words before fighting Link are actually intimidating.
- Breath Weapon: His armor can breathe fire.
- Defeat by Modesty: Defeating him causes his armor to crumble off, revealing a pudgy old man in his underwear who retreats in shame.
- Defeat Equals Explosion: His armor explodes after he's beaten.
- Fan Disservice: His true form is a half-naked old man with layers of flab. At least he's aware of how awful it feels.
- Large Ham: Like most bosses.
- Name-Tron: "Militron".
- Paper Tiger: He initially seems to be a giant, armored warrior. But when his armor is destroyed, he turns out to be a feeble old man who then flees the battle.
- Power Armor: His armor may be a magical example, since he looks like nothing more than a weak old man who slinks away in fear once his armor is shattered. This also explains why he can breathe fire.
- Pyromaniac: "Feel the fire of war!"
- Prepare to Die: "Now, you must die!"
- Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: Go! And! Kill!
- Recurring Boss: First encountered in the Militron area, and then later fought again in Ganon's Lair.
- Reforged into a Minion: He turns Koridians into Armos by having them "hardened with fire."
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After you destroy his magic armor, he flees naked.
- Sole Survivor: Compared to the other bosses in the two games, he's the only boss who manages to avoid death by fleeing after being defeated.
- Tin Tyrant: He's a boss that wears badass armor that spews fire.
- Your Size May Vary: In his introduction cutscene, he’s able to fit a person in the palm of his hand. In gameplay, he’s barely taller than Link. And that’s before he’s revealed to be a regular old man in his defeat cutscene.
- Cyclops: He has one eye, which is red.
- Defeat Equals Explosion: Immediately explodes upon ingesting the bomb.
- Extreme Omnivore: Will eat seemingly anything, even a bomb.
- Fat Bastard: Very fat, and is not above eating living beings.
- Feed It a Bomb: What it takes to kill Glutko."Uh-oh! (BOOM!)"
- Green and Mean: Green-skinned and willing to eat sapient beings.
- Our Ogres Are Hungrier: He isn't explicitly called an ogre, but he has a number of traits in common with them, being a fat cannibalistic giant.
- Recurring Boss: First encountered in the Glutko area, and then again at the summit of the Shrine of Koridai.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Well, eye in his case.
- This Is Gonna Suck: He realizes he ate a bomb before exploding into pieces.
- To Serve Man: Is seen eating a captive Koridian in his intro cutscene. Later, during his pre-battle cutscene, he tries to eat Link."Oh, goody! Mashed Link for the main course!"
- Villainous Glutton: He really likes to eat. Unfortunately, his favorite food is people."Tastes like a Daira! Perhaps just one more?"
- Your Size May Vary: His hand alone is as big as a man and he's large enough to eat people whole in the cutscenes, but in gameplay is the same size as Link.
- Big "NO!": "You can't kill me! No! No! Nooo!"
- Burn the Undead: Fire is the only thing that can kill him (momentarily).
- Dem Bones: "Wake up, sleepybones! Find the living and cut their vile throats!"
- An Ice Person: He threatens to freeze Link in a cutscene, implying he has ice powers.
- Master of Disguise: His second appearance has him disguised as Zelda, waiting for Link to arrive before ambushing him.
- Necromancer: One cutscene shows him animating a skeleton with magic.
- Recurring Boss: You fight Goronu twice in Faces of Evil, first in the face of Goronu and later in Fortress Centrum, where he at first appears to be a sleeping Zelda.
- Snakes Are Sinister: His extending neck and venomous fangs peg him as some form of snake-man.
- This Cannot Be!: "You can't kill me! No! No! Nooo!"
- Achilles' Heel: "The shroud! No, it's cold! Aaaaaargh!".
- Adaptational Badass: A relatively normal enemy in the games becomes a major general of Ganon's attack on Gamelon. Also, this Gibdo is immune to sword strikes, even though the shroud easily beats him.
- Mummy: That's what Gibdos are.
- Ominous Pipe Organ: Is playing one in his introduction cutscene.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: An evil mummy with crazy red eyes.
- Card-Carrying Villain: They love talking about evil a lot. Their last words is them bemoaning the fact their "lovely evil" is ruined.
- Green and Mean: One of the witches wears green and has greenish skin.
- No Name Given: They don't receive any names.
- The Weird Sisters: Three evil witches.
- Wicked Witch: Magic powers, check, high pitched voice, check, ugly faces, check.
- Wolfpack Boss: You face all three at once, and they are fragile but hit hard.
- Adaptational Badass: Though these guys were already Elite Mooks in their origin games, here the Iron Knuckle becomes a major general of Ganon's attack on Gamelon.
- Animated Armor: When defeated we see that there's no one inside the armor he is.
- Large Ham: His only quote in the game is hammy.
- Prepare to Die: "You will die!"
- Tin Tyrant: He's an evil living armor.
- Who Dares?: "You dare defy me?"
- Adaptational Badass: Similarly to the Iron Knuckle, Wizzrobes are Elite Mooks in the canon games, but here one becomes a major general of Ganon's attack on Gamelon.
- Big "NO!": "Not the disintegration spell! NOOOO!"
- Creepy High-Pitched Voice: He has a shrill, high-pitched voice, and he's an evil wizard.
- Disintegrator Ray: He is defeated by reflecting this spell back at him.
- Green and Mean: He has green skin.
- I Have You Now, My Pretty: Captures Lady Alma.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: An evil sorcerous monster with red eyes.
- Bad Boss: Uses his Armos minions for target practice
- Beard of Evil: He has a long beard.
- Captain Obvious: When he starts melting he says to Zelda "You've killed me!"
- Climax Boss: Was an accomplice in King Harkinian's kidnapping, and his battle precedes a plot revelation that Duke Onkled also assisted in the kidnapping.
- Co-Dragons: Both him and Omfak serve as this to Ganon in Wand of Gamelon.
- Faux Affably Evil: Hektan kills a minion just to show his power, and follows it up by saying "Next," as if he's a dentist calling in his next patient.
- Gameplay and Story Segregation: He teleports a lot in his pre-fight cutscene, but he never uses this power in an actual fight.
- Glass Cannon: His attacks are devastating both story-wise and gameplay-wise, but he goes down by a single basic sword strike.
- I'm Melting!: He dies by melting.
- Meaningful Name: Possibly derived from hectolitre, a unit of measure for liquid.
- One-Hit-Point Wonder: One single sword strike is enough to kill him.

- Attack Its Weak Point: His weak point is his lips form.
- Big Eater: He'll devour anything he sees.
- Breath Weapon: Breathes fire in his lion-headed form.
- Cat Folk: One of his forms has a lion head.
- Co-Dragons: Both him and Hektan serve as this to Ganon in Wand of Gamelon.
- Death by Gluttony: Averted; even though he's introduced as a Villainous Glutton, he's defeated by striking him in his gluttonous form, not by taking advantage of his gluttony.
- Extreme Omnivore: Whatever he sees, he shall devour.
- Eye Beams: Shoots a bird out of the sky with these in his debut appearance, then attacks Zelda with these upon confrontation.
- Gag Lips: Becomes vulnerable to sword strikes in this form.
- Lip Losses: One of the forms that Omfak can turn his head into is a giant pair of lips. These lips are his weak point. When you defeat him, the lips explode.
- One-Hit-Point Wonder: Dies to a single sword strike.
- Villainous Glutton: His introduction shows him shooting a bird out of the sky with Eye Beams, roasting it with fire breath, then turning into a pair of Gag Lips to consume it.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting: Can shift between a wolf head, a lion head, and a pair of Gag Lips for a head.
- Wolf Man: One of the forms he takes shape as. While in this form, he can shoot Eye Beams and remain invincible.
- Your Head Asplode: Explodes into a flock of black birds upon his defeat.
- Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Upon being caught by King Harkinian, he tries to beg for mercy.
- Aristocrats Are Evil: Duke Onkled looks a little... mmmm... richer than Harkinian and Zelda.
- Cool and Unusual Punishment: He gets sentenced to scrub every floor in Hyrule as punishment for betraying King Harkinian.
- Dirty Coward: Betrays the King and begs for mercy, not even putting up a fight, once he's caught by Zelda and Lord Kiro.
- Evil All Along: He intially seems like another ruler who needs help from Hyrule to fend off Ganon, but is actually a traitor working with the vile monster.
- The Mole: He turns out to be working for Ganon.
- The Unfought: An instrumental part of Ganon's plans in Wand of Gamelon, but is treated by the game as an NPC rather than a boss character.
NPCS
- Big Fun: A very chubby man who is always very cheerful.
- Buy or Get Lost: He'll invoke this trope in a surprisingly polite way if Link doesn't have enough funds, saying he can't give credit and offering Link the chance to come back later when he's got the money.
- Large Ham: Like most characters in this game."Sorry Link, I can't give credit. Come back when you're a little- mmmmm... Richer!"
- No Hero Discount: He has no such discount for Link, despite the importance of his mission. At least he will offer you to come back when you do have it.
- Big Eater: From what little we know of him, he seems to like eating and drinking a lot.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: He sounds a lot like Dan Castellaneta doing his Barney Gumble voice.
- Distressed Dude: He, along with Mayor Cravendish are taken hostage by Ganon to Taikogi Tower.
- Expy: He looks like a fatter, pointy-eared Wendell the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Baker.
- Skewed Priorities: He tries to get his cakes out of the oven, but he gets captured.
- And That's Terrible: "This is illegal, you know."
- Distressed Dude: He, along with Harbanno the Baker are taken hostage by Ganon to Taikogi Tower.
- Gag Nose: He has a huge nose.
- Judicial Wig: Wears a judge wig that even falls off his head when Zelda cuts him free.
- Punny Name: Craven (cowardly, lacking in courage) + Cavendish, a prominent British royal family.
- The Stoic: He keeps a rather cool head, even when he's captured.
- Anachronism Stew: He has a modern-looking cash register despite the rest of the game having medieval-level technology.
- Greed: He seems to be more interested in making a profit then serving customers.
- No Hero Discount: Similarly to Morshu (though less memorably), he will refuse you if you don't have enough money to pay."Sorry Zelda, not enough rupees. You'll have to wipe out a few more Goriyas to get that."
- No Name Given: Unlike Morshu, who is his Faces of Evil counterpart, he's not given any name.
- The Scrooge: Seems to be fairly rich and only concerned with making rupees instead of the plight of his kingdom.
- Informed Attribute: Ganon calls him a "runt" in one scene, possibly implying he's a short man. It's hard to tell in-game though. Plus, Ganon is taller than a human being.
- The Dog Bites Back: He was captured because Duke Onkled was a traitor. He rats that out to the King.
- The Stoic: When he's captured by Ganon, he just shouts "Hey." indifferently.
- Creepy Good: She sounds like a witch, has pale red skin, sharp fingernails, and evil looking eyes that constantly change color as she talks. She also has a human skull sitting on her bookshelf. She's still a helpful person.
- Face of a Thug: She looks more scary than some villains, but is anything but evil.
- Kaleidoscope Eyes: Her eyes constantly change color.
- Creepy Good: She seems to be an Ice Queen in both a literal and figurative sense, but is still on the side of good.
- Rhyming with Itself: "This shield both sword and spear deflects, but cannot stop the vilest curse. This crystal makes the shield reflect, cursing the curser with twice the curse."
- Winter Royal Lady: She lives in an icy castle and dresses rather royally to boot.
- Ambiguously Evil: She seems to enjoy mocking Zelda, was quick to write Link off as a bore at the end of the game, and it's revealed Link was trapped in her mirror. It's unknown if Alma was the one who trapped him, as it could have been Wizzrobe who trapped him in the mirror.
- Damsel in Distress: She's captured and imprisoned by Wizzrobe.
- Kick the Dog: When Zelda expresses concern that Link is still missing after saving the king, she snipes that "he was a bore anyway." This pushes Zelda past her limit, telling her to "stop looking at herself", and grab her hand mirror and smash it against the wall, inadvertently freeing Link in the process. If Lady Alma was responsible, this would also be a case of Nice Job Fixing It, Villain, though whether or not she was involved is left ambiguous.
- Magic Mirror: At the end of the game, she appears carrying a mirror she uses to look at herself. It turns out to have been imprisoning Link, as seen after Zelda takes it from her and breaks it.
- Narcissist: Only shows concern for herself and is frequently depicted staring into her hand mirror. She claims to have accepted Link's canteen in return for a kiss (though whether she did or just claims to have to taunt Zelda is unclear,) but later shows no concern for his disappearance, calling him a "bore."
- Royal Brat: Appears to be very arrogant and self-centered.
