The Fictional ISOT Map Game (also known as its initials FISOT) series is a series of map-games on AlternateHistory.com, in which players create and progressively change a map and tell a story to go along with it. The premise is that a whole slurry of different countries across fiction suddenly find themselves transported to an Earth that was hitherto devoid of sentient life, which usually results in mass chaos and plenty of Crack Fic fuel as the countries (and characters) struggle to adapt to this strange new world. The series is currently on its sixth game.
Note that you need to be a member of the site to read them.
As of May 15, 2016, the sixth map gameis up.

Tropes that appear in the FISOT game series:
- Adaptational Heroism:
- The fifth game has Zero-One becoming a benign nation recognized by most of the world (saved for Nigeria).
- Alternate History Wank: All four games feature this.
- The first game had the USA, Japanese Empire, Spain, the Race and Lustria.
- The Second game had the CSA, the Galactic Empire, The Race, the Tau, the Japanese Empire, Germany, and the UNSC.
- The third game had the USA, UK, USSR, Germany, and China.
- As of Middle Year 15, the fourth game has the UK, Ilium, the Race, China, and Siluria.
- Apocalypse Cult: The Church of the Changer of the Ways in Game One.
- Apocalypse How: Regional Type 4 is inflicted on Africa in Game Three to destroy the damn Orks.
- "Arabian Nights" Days: The Abbasid Caliphate from Arabian Nights appears in FISOT4. While they are rapidly (i.e. within six months) curb-stomped by the Race, genies later play a major role in the unfolding of the plot later on.
- Badass Santa: In the fourth game after Lex Luthor coordinated the attack on Santa's workshop which temporarily housed the Justice League and temporarily delayed Christmas, Santa decides to take up the notch on the naughty list by making a live appearance in blowing up Presidnt Luthor (who is being substituted by a robot-lookalike). This was enough to scare a kid to be devoted to being on the nice list.
- Big Bad
- The first game brought us Lord and Lady Nemesis. They're Harry Potter and Hermione respectively, driven mad over the deaths of their best friend and the younger trio.
- In the second game, there wasn't a central bad guy.
- The third game first had Nicol Bolas, then Aku , actually Demongo with both parts of Aku and Bolas' essences, and then Tycho.
- Game 4 has Nyarlathotep, and Lord Nemesis, and then the Master.
- And Schniezal el Britannia and Kane each have plans of their own, independent of both.
- Call a Rabbit a "Smeerp": In the fifth game Austrailia comes to be known as Lordran. Justified because none of the nations transported there were native to Earth (and thus knew nothing of the actual names of the continents) and were isolated from the rest of the planet for around two years, by the time contact with other countries was established a new name had already taken root. With the name based on the fact that all of the nations brought to Australia were monarchic in some way.
- Chekhov's Gun: The Abbasid Sultanate is a minor one in Game 4
- Crapsack World: The third Earth, where South America has been torn by warfare, and to defeat the Orks in Africa, tons of nukes and chemical weapons were used.
- Curbstomp Battle:
- The war between the Japanese Empire and Siluria in the fourth game. This frightened everyone else on Earth because the Japanese Empire was one of the most powerful countries in the world.
- Zero-One vs. Nazi Germany in the fifth game.
- Deader than Dead: Nyarlathotep has been turned into data, ripped apart, and deleted in the fourth game.
- Deal with the Devil: Harry Potter and Hermione are forced to serve Tzeentch in a temporarily alliance against Voldemort, which leads to their transformation into Lord and Lady Nemesis.
- Dragon Ascendant: Played With. The Master is the latest Big Bad, but he was the Evil Genius, not the Dragon.
- Dropped a Bridge on Him: In Game Five, Jonah Prowse and Phil Constantino are killed by Major Edward Beck's forces.
- Evil Me Scares Me: The Japanese characters of Code Geass have shocking reactions to the militaristic Empire of Japan of Worldwar in Game 4.
- Evil Versus Evil: Aku versus Bolas in Game Three.
- Forever War: The war between the Draka on one side and Bajor and Kumogakure on the other in Game 4 swiftly turned into one.
- From Nobody to Nightmare: In Game 4, Kane goes from being a minor Soviet official to being the de facto leader of the Soviet Union after the Nemesis War .
- It gets better, Kane now controls the entire Silurian Empire, due to a wish from a genie.
- The Good King: The Hero of Brightwall, King of Albion, becomes this towards his Westeros subjects.
- Harem Seeker: Briefly, Aladdin in Game Four. This results in the page quote
- Heart Is an Awesome Power: Captain Planet destroys a Dalek using the Power of Heart in Game Four.
- I Fight for the Strongest Side!:
- In Game 4, Andries Rhoodie and his AWB immediately abandons the Confederacy and goes to Nazi Germany upon realizing the latter's existence.
- Karma Houdini:
- In Game 2, Jake Featherston got what he wanted for the Confederacy.
- Killed Off for Real: Several characters, such as Korra in Game Four.
- Know When to Fold 'Em: In Game Five, after the Tomarchio leadership is violently eliminated by a Yeerk infiltrator and the ASA realizing the infiltration, Yeerk-infected Secretary of Defense Franklin Stoff order the remaining ASA nuclear stockpile to be used against the US forces and the entire eastern American seaboard. However, almost the entire ASA command structure refused to follow the order and, deciding that they finally had enough of all the fighting, surrender to the US.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: Happens to Lady Nemesis in Game Four.
- Mega Crossover: The entire point of the game.
- Orcus on His Throne: The Cylons in Game Three.
- And much of Game 4.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: Lord Nemesis and his son end up with this courtesy of the Red Chains in the fourth game.
- Split-Personality Takeover: In Game 4, this happens to Korra courtesy of Ob. Also counts as
- Demonic Possession: This
- The Alliance:
- Map five has the New European Union and the Atlantic and Asia-Pacific Treaty Organization.
- Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: The fourth game has one involving the Justice League, People's Heroes, Shadowpact, Torchwood, the Black Knights, the Unova Elite 4 and gym leaders, the staff of the Unseen Academy, and the Ankh-Morpork city guard fight against Lex Luthor, the inJustice League, Nyarlathotep, Ob, Xykon, and their undead and demon army.
- The Third game had the Wizards Four (Prospero, Gandalf, Dumbledore, and the Wizard of Oz) joining forces with Magneto and his Acolytes and Aku and Demongo to (temporarily it turned out) defeat Nicol Bolas, with inadvertent assistance from the Cylons and Junkions.
- Villain Team-Up
- Megatron and Voldemort in Game 1.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: As a general rule, it is not uncommon for plotlines, characters, and whole countries to get lost, due to the collaborative nature of the games and their complexity. Examples of the last include the Province of Judea from the first game, and Pottsylvania from the second.
- Idiot Ball: The White Lotus coup in FISOT 4. For one thing, the stated reason for betraying avatar Aang (Protecting the baby Avatar) means they're betraying the living Aang for the dead one, as their mission to defend the new avatar came from Aang in the source material. The White Lotus' interactions with Aang in the original series clearly show that they felt no obligation to help the avatar then. Furthermore, the leadership of the organization would likely fall to people like Tenzin and the living Aang, who would never launch a coup. Other than that, most of the originally ISOT'd White Lotus members would be pushing sixty, and the rank and file would be made up of various peoples from the new world they're in, who'd have no loyalty to the dead Aang.
