Tropes related to the fictional characters of DARK MOON: THE BLOOD ALTAR.
Sooha
The New Transfer Student at Decelis Academy.- Action Girl: Sooha with her superhuman strength. She's been shown to be capable of carrying entire beds, lifting up chunks of concrete rubble, bodyslamming people much taller than her and stopping someone travelling at superhuman speed, among other things.
- All of the Other Reindeer: Sooha's superhuman strength that she had for some reason made people mistake her for a vampire, which left her lonely until she met Chris. Her reputation worsened after Chris died because of a vampire and people considered her the main suspect.
- Audience Surrogate: In the earlier episodes where she and the readers were getting to know the vampires and werewolves.
- Big Anime Eyes: Sooha has the biggest eyes in the cast, complementing her Naïve Everygirl charm.
- Bookworm: Sooha's main hobby is reading, and it's even something she and Heli bond over. One of the reasons Sooha enrolls into Decelis is to gain access to their famously extensive library, mostly in the hopes to find an answer on how to destroy the vampire kind once and for all in order to avenge Chris' death, but girl still likes to read. Doubles as the badass type due to her being an Action Girl and cute type as she is considered to be a very cute and beautiful girl.
- Crush Blush: She and Heli are prone to blushing and stumbling their words around each other, Sooha more so.
- Cursed with Awesome: Sooha's superhuman strength is cool, she never saw it that way until meeting the vampires due to her troubled childhood.
- Curtains Match the Window: Sooha has a pink streak in her hair that matches her pink eyes.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Sooha has been ostracized by people for being mistaken as a vampire her entire life, lost her only childhood friend to a vampire and has been forced to run from place to place to escape suspicion from others. Needless to say, she arrives at Decelis Academy with a troubled past.
- Doom Magnet: Sooha has been implied to be a bringer of bad luck to the towns she has travelled to or lived in.
- Dude Magnet: Heli, Khan and Dardan are all in love with her. Heli's other brothers (except Solon and Jakah) also seems to have a degree of interest in her.
- Fantastic Racism: Sooha holds a very strong hatred towards vampires because of her ability of superhuman strength she was mysteriously born with, leading her to be constantly mistaken as a vampire and in consequence repeatedly had to move to different cities. Also, a vampire killed her only friend, Chris, when she was very young. The main reason Sooha transfers to the prestigious Decelis Academy in the town of Riverfield, is due to the fact that the school is known for having a strict policy against vampires. Sooha transfers there believing that by being a student in a school with such a policy, she will never be mistaken for a vampire ever again, let alone come face-to-face with one within its walls (or so she thought...)
- Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: The Tiny Girl to everyone's Huge Guy. Sooha is stands at an average build and height but is noticeably shorter than her male peers.
- Innocently Insensitive: Has said some rather mean things in front of vampires in front of Heli and the others, who are vampires. She even gifted the brothers items that weaken vampires on their birthday.
- Irony: The main reason Sooha came to Decelis Academy is to avoid vampires, and yet the first thing she does there is unknowingly befriend seven of them.
- Kid Hero: Teen Hero, as Sooha is said to only be 17.
- Lady and Knight: Both her and her past life are the Bright Lady to Heli's White Knight.
- Long Hair Is Feminine: Sooha's dark brown hair is waist-length.
- Love Interest: She and Heli have a mutual attraction towards each other. Doubles as Reincarnation Romance since their past lives also had feelings for each other.
- Muscles Are Meaningless: Sooha is petite and slim-built in comparison to the taller vampires and bulkier werewolves but can punch above her own weight, even taking down the strongest members of the werewolves in Episode 6 all by herself.
- Naïve Newcomer: Sooha is one on her first day at school as she's just recently transferred to Decelis Academy when the story starts.
- Nice Girl: Sooha is friendly and cheerful, and honest and expressive with her feelings. She cares a lot about the people around her, and is always ready to protect them. She is open about how she feels and can stand up for what she thinks is right, although at times she can be a little naive and gullible.
- Pink Means Feminine: Sooha's the token girl of the main characters and pink is her main Color Motif. She has big magenta pink eyes and a matching streak in her hair. Whenever she talks with telepathy, her bubble's color is pink.
- Protectorate: Becomes this to everyone in the story.
- Really Royalty Reveal: Episode 26 reveals that Sooha is the reincarnation of Princess Selen.
- Secret-Keeper: Solon eventually entrusts her with his secret: the fact that he's half-werewolf.
- The Smurfette Principle: Sooha is the only female character in a main cast of male characters.
- Super-Strength: Sooha's ability. People mistook her for a vampire because of this.
- Teleportation: Sooha's second ability. It works uniquely compared to most examples: she can turn into fog and travel anywhere in an instant.
- Token Human: The only main character that isn't either a vampire or werewolf.
The Vampire Brothers
A group of seven boys who are pretty popular in Decelis Academy. They're also secretly vampires.
(members listed by order of appearance)
- Berserk Button:
- Hurt Sooha and they will hurt you more.
- The mere presence of the werewolves is enough to piss them off, even the nicer ones in the group.
- Blond, Brunette, Redhead: Shion (golden blonde), Jaan (silver) and Jakah (white) are the blondes, Heli (black), Solon (dark blue) and Noa (deep purple) are the brunettes, and Jino is the sole redhead.
- Color Motifs: Best shown in the color of their telepathy bubbles:
- Heli: Gold
- Jaan: Silver
- Jino: Red
- Solon: Sky Blue
- Shion: Light Yellow
- Jakah: Green
- Noa: Purple
- Conveniently an Orphan: The vampires are all orphans, which only make them more enigmatic to both Sooha and the readers.
- Family of Choice: The vampires regard each other as brothers even though they aren't related by blood. However, they grew up together in the same orphanage and went through so much hardship as a group that they might as well be family.
- Hairstyle Inertia: Everyone (save for Solon and Jakah) have the same hairstyles as the ones they had as kids.
- Hiding Your Heritage: The boys pose as humans for their own safety. Every once in a while, they move to another country to prevent suspicion from others, and even change identities.
- Idiot Ball: Despite centuries of hiding their vampiric heritage and knowing what happens if said heritage is revealed, Heli, Jaan, Jino and Shion exposed their abilities to Sooha (and when they're just getting to know each other, too) immediately, something Solon and Jakah call them out for.
- Innocently Insensitive: More than once, the vampires (notably Shion) insult werewolves... around Solon, who's half-werewolf.
- Lovable Jock: Are a part of the Nightball team and are the most popular guys in Decelis Academy, popular enough to have nearly the entire stundent body in their birthday party.
- Mysterious Past: As more of their past gets revealed, it's shown that's it's more more dark and troubled than anyone expected.
- Nice, Mean, and In-Between: Amongst the seven vampire brothers, Heli, Jino and Noa are the nice, being the more warm-hearted, sweet and openly friendly ones in the group, although Noa is shy at first and not very emotionally expressive, Jaan and Solon are the mean, as while they aren't actually malicious, they are the brothers who are prone to being easily-angered and are colder and more distant than everyone (Solon in particular outright detests the thought of newcomers in their group) but deep down are still very caring, especially of their brothers. Shion and Jakah are the in-between as the former is a friendly, sociable and welcoming guy yet at the same time is also very blunt to the point of being Innocently Insensitive and the latter may not be as cold or distant as Jaan and Solon are and is generally polite and well-mannered to others but like Solon he's also hesitant to forge friendships with others, suspicious of Sooha and is just as (if not more so) pragmatic.
- Pretty Boy: A notable contrast to the werewolves, who lean more on the Hunk side.
- Really 700 Years Old: Despite their youthful, high school age appearance, their age is stated to be a century at most.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: There's a few pairs amongst the brothers.
- The most obvious example is Shion and Solon. Shion is always smiling, happy, carefree, comical and enjoys making friends. Solon, on the other hand, is always frowning, irritable, deeply insecure, brooding and doesn't want to make any friends. These differences make them prone to arguing a lot.
- Heli and Jakah are also this, as while they have some similar characteristics, Heli is more relaxed, emotionally driven and tends to be impulsive (especially when it comes to Sooha), meanwhile Jakah is more uptight, logically driven and always thinks rationally. As a bonus, Heli has the darkest hair out of the brothers while Jakah's hair is the lightest.
- Smoky Gentlemen's Club: The vampire friend group appears to be one given that it is secretive and exclusively closed-off to newcomers. The vampires do not seem to want to associate too closely with humans or other members of the student population. Not until Sooha arrives, at least.
- The Team: The vampires need to stay together to survive. Also taken literally, as the seven of them form the Decelis Academy nightball team.
- Vague Age: Regarding their age order, as the only revealed ones is that Heli is the oldest and Noa is the youngest.
- Member he's based on: Heeseung
Heli is the main character who is described as a warm-hearted vampire who has a lot of patience. He has telepathic ability so he often talks to his brother without the exchange of words. The appearance of a mysterious girl, Sooha, makes him feel a sense of longing.
- Badass Bookworm: Heli can fight and wield a sword and he often visits the library to read.
- Betty and Veronica:
- Heli is the Veronica to Khan's Betty for Sooha's Archie. However, their dynamics are more complicated, as while Heli fits some of the Veronica archetypes, such as being popular at his school, having a more cold and mysterious allure to him, and being the one Sooha is attracted to, his personality is more similar to a Betty's, being nothing but very compassionate, kind and friendly to Sooha.
- Played straight where Heli's the Betty to Dardan's Veronica for Sooha's (and Selen's) Archie, which was more apparent in their past lives, as while Heli was as protective and loyal as he ever was to Sooha for Selen, even if she would someday marry someone else other than him, Dardan is Ax-Crazy and entitled enough to kill millions including her.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Heli's shown to be widely popular among the students due to his good looks and overall friendliness and helpfulness. In his interactions with Sooha he's also been shown to be nothing but caring and understanding with her. However, his blunt yet quietly seething interactions with the werewolves in Episode 7 imply that something darker and scarier may lurk beneath the nice-guy exterior. Later chapters also show that if he has to kill, then he will.
- Big Man on Campus: While the entire group is popular, Heli fits the trope the most with him being implied to be the most popular one as he is handsome and sweet. His popularity is shown in Episode 4 when he got greeted by every single student that sees him.
- Brainy Brunette: Heli has black hair and is very smart, unless Sooha is in danger and he acts recklessly.
- Crush Blush: He and Sooha are prone to blushing and stumbling their words around each other, Sooha more so.
- Fashionable Asymmetry: Heli has a cross earring on his right ear only.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: The closest to being the protagonist (as he’s the one we follow from the beginning), and the only one who uses a weapon, something he used in his past life.
- Informed Ability: Heli is said to have telekinesis as a secondary ability, but he never used it in the comic.
- Knight in Shining Armor: He was one in his past life and has the personality to match.
- Lady and Knight: Is the White Knight to Sooha's/Selen's Bright Lady.
- The Leader: Seems to serve as the de facto one for the vampires, which naturally fits as he is the eldest one.
- Love Interest: He and Sooha have a mutual attraction towards each other. Doubles as Reincarnation Romance since their past lives also had feelings for each other.
- Love Makes You Dumb: Could be considered his Fatal Flaw, as whenever Sooha is in trouble, Heli doesn't think with his head but with his heart.
- Magical Accessory: Given the emphasis that's been placed on Heli's cross-shaped pendant earring, it's possible that the earring may be magically significant.
- Nice Guy: Described as a compassionate, patient and warm-hearted man who's polite and kind to everyone and acts like a Knight in Shining Armor to Sooha.
- Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Has the standard vampire white skin and a night black mop of hair.
- Supernatural Gold Eyes: Heli has this and while his telepathy isn't a lethal ability, his swordsmanship abilities definitely are.
- Tall, Dark, and Handsome: Heli is one of the taller brothers, has black hair and is very good-looking. Fittingly, he's the most popular one out of all his brothers.
- Telepathy: His ability. His brothers have it as well but his is clearly the most powerful one.
- Member he's based on: Jake
Jino is someone who openly expresses what he is thinking and has an extroverted personality. This extroverted and upbeat personality makes him able to make a lot of friends and be popular at school. He also doesn’t really care whether a person in front of him is a human or a vampire and he treats them equally.
He has a special ability that is to control fire, so it’s possible for him to save his brothers in a crucial moment.
- Ace Pilot: Children Of Vamfield reveals that Jino is a pilot. In the prologue, he's piloting the plane to the brothers' next destination.
- All-Loving Hero: Is said to like everyone no matter what. He doesn't really care about the difference between humans and vampires, treating them all equally. This sentiment allows him to make friends with lots of people far and wide, making him incredibly popular at school. That being said, werewolves seem to be an exception, though even that is downplayed as Jino doesn't insult them as much as his brothers do.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Like Heli, Jino is one of the more sweeter vampires, being a carefree and cheerful guy who's always smiling and is nothing but friendly and kind to everyone, as in, everyone. This is the same guy that once coldly tortured a vampire by repeatedly burning his throat to get information out of him.
- Custom Uniform: Jino wears a grey sweater vest instead of a tie.
- Cute Little Fangs: Unlike his brothers, Jino's fangs are prominent and visible even when not in bloodsucking mode.
- Even the Loving Hero Has Hated Ones: Downplayed especially in comparison to his brothers (even Solon), but not even all-loving Jino likes the Sunshine City werewolves that much. He can at least be in their presence without losing his temper.
- Fiery Redhead: Literally with the fire powers, and is shown even more when he gets pissed off.
- Fiery Stoic: Despite said powers, he's a pretty happy and calm guy, moreso than his own brothers (except maybe Shion and Noa respectively).
- Fire Is Red: Jino has bright red hair and his ability is fire manipulation.
- Fun Personified: Alongside Shion, the two appear to be the happy-go-lucky ones of the group and are nearly always smiling whenever we see them.
- Genki Guy: Not to Shion's extent, but Jino is a guy who's always bright, carefree, has an upbeat and extroverted personality, often wears his heart on his sleeve, candid about his feelings and openly expresses what he's thinking.
- Gentle Giant: Jino is the tallest amongst his brothers and also one of the sweetest.
- Mellow Fellow: One of the more laid-back brothers, Jino is just happy to be here.
- Nice Guy: Not unlike Heli, Jino is an ever so friendly, approachable, respectful and kind vampire who always somehow brightens up the scene whenever he is around. He's also notably the only one amongst his brothers who doesn't spark up any fights with the werewolves.
- Only Sane Man: Not like Jakah or Solon, but Jino is also one of the boys in the group to not try and impress Sooha to a degree, such as when the other boys (excluding Jakah and Solon) try to do so by pretending to enjoy her hobby of reading and admits "no one ever reads other than Heli".
- Perpetual Smiler: You will always see that adorable fanged smile on Jino's face.
- Playing with Fire: Jino is a pyrokinetic with the energetic, fiery personality and hair color to match.
- Power Stereotype Flip: Jino's fire powers stand opposite to his soft and kind nature.
- Red Is Heroic: Jino has a red Color Motif (red hair and red telepathy bubbles) and is one of the main characters.
- Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Has bright red hair and green eyes and is one of the main protagonists of the story.
- Tranquil Fury: On the rare instances where he's mad, rather than being explosive as his powers would make you assume, Jino is completely calm, even showing a surprisingly cold and ruthless side to him.
- Member he's based on: Sunoo
The other one who enjoys making friends is Shion. Shion is the childish and troublemaker one. He likes doing his own things in his own way and is very honest and straightforward with his feelings. Sometimes this honesty makes others feel uncomfortable but he doesn’t care whether his brothers think it’s complicated or not. He wants to befriend Sooha despite the objections from his brothers, especially from Solon.
- All There in the Manual: The Instagram posts about information on the vampires reveal that aside from the ability to stick to any surface (described as "pull ability"), Shion has another power: an "attraction ability" that makes anyone do whatever he wishes if they make eye contact. He uses that ability in later chapters.
- Annoying Younger Sibling: Shion is known for being a troublemaker and refuses to abide by the rules, which tends to frustrate his brothers from time to time.
- Beware the Silly Ones: While he may come off as cute, clumsy and bubbly most of the time, Shion doesn't hesitate to show his tougher side in order to protect his friends, including Sooha.
- Bratty Half-Pint: His behavior at his worst, as for how sweet and cheery he is, Shion can be quite the cheeky brat, even at serious moments, and pouts miserably whenever he doesn't get what he wants. Just ask Solon.
- Brutal Honesty: He's straightforward and honest about his feelings, even if it might make others uncomfortable at times.
- Curtains Match the Window: Has light blonde hair and gold eyes.
- Custom Uniform: Shion wears a grey sweater vest instead of a tie.
- The Cutie: His cute appearance, big smile, and child-like personality make him this.
- Deadpan Snarker: Surprisingly shows some shades of this.Shion: [regarding Solon's secret ability] You have the ability to whine and complain. Such an extraordinary talent...
- Dumb Blonde: While not stupid and can actually be manipulative to get whatever he wants, Shion is a bit ditzy and is genuinely unaware of his lack of filter.
- Fun Personified: Alongside Jino, the two appear to be the happy-go-lucky ones of the group and are nearly always smiling whenever we see them.
- The Gadfly: Befitting being a mischievous troublemaker who refuses to abide by rules, Shion is this. Shion doesn't listen to his brothers and always does what he wants, like befriending Sooha despite Solon's passionate and vocal objections, he teases Solon a lot, from calling him silly to saying his special ability is whining and complaining. When the vampires planned a date with Sooha at the town square, Shion tricked them by making them think the time to meet up was 7 o'clock while he secretly met up with Sooha at 5 o'clock, two hours ahead.
- Genki Guy / Keet: Compared to his more serious brothers (except the equally cheerful Jino), Shion's much more bubbly, energetic and livelier, no matter the circumstances.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Shion's blond curls match his bright and friendly personality.
- Hypnotic Eyes: Shion's second ability, known as "mesmerization". One look in his eyes and and you will be forced to do his bidding.
- Innocently Insensitive: Because of his bluntness, Shion can be unaware that some of his words are harsh. Him being the most prone to say hurtful things about werewolves with Solon (who is half-werewolf himself) is just one example.
- I Just Want to Have Friends: Being the most extroverted of the brothers, Shion is said to enjoy making friends. He's pouty and sulking whenever Solon tells them not to befriend Sooha and persistent to do so anyway.
- In Touch with His Feminine Side: Wears a pink maid-like ensemble while helping Sooha clean her room. He's also a bit of a Drama Queen.
- Jerkass to One: Downplayed, but Shion seems to like pushing Solon's buttons a lot, often not listening to him, immediately ditching him for Sooha, targeting him for jokes and giving him snide remarks, plus loudly insulting werewolves within his earshot. To Solon's credit, he doesn't just sit back and take the abuse, often giving him as good as he gets.
- Large Ham: Shion has a flair for the dramatics and giving his all in everything.
- Nice Guy: In spite of his brattiness and insensitivity, Shion is quite the sweetheart and out of his brothers, he's easily the nicest and friendliest one to Sooha right next to Heli. He also encourages Sooha to confide in him when things get difficult, admitting that he had to go through an adequate amount of struggles throughout life like her, (much to Sooha's disbelief).
- Perpetual Smiler: Always seen with a bright smile.
- Plucky Comic Relief: As a contrast to his more serious brothers, Shion is naturally lighthearted and does or says something funny, even after a pretty dark moment.
- The Pollyanna: Considering their Dark and Troubled Past, it makes Shion's bright and happy personality surprising (in a good way).
- Running Gag: Being the Plucky Comic Relief of the brothers, Shion's got a few gags up his sleeves.
- Shion not listening to Solon's passionate and vocal objections about Sooha happens a lot.
- Shion tends to try and impress Sooha every chance he gets, from excitedly running to her after scoring a point in nightball, pretending to be interested in sophisticated topics such as quantum physics, to sharing her hobby of reading (although denied by Jino), and enjoying the task of cleaning (which he actually finds tiring).
- Sitcom Archnemesis:
- His and Solon's petty spats are Played for Laughs.
- Shion hates the Sunshine City werewolves, but he seems to have it out for Tahel in particular, and the two spend their screentime together butting heads.
- Supernatural Gold Eyes: Shion's gold eyes are fittingly used for his mesmerization ability.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Like the guy he's based on, Shion seems to have a thing for mint chocolate ice cream.
- Wall Crawl: It's assumed that Shion can do this in addition to hanging from ceilings as he states that he is able to stick to walls.
- Member he’s based on: Sunghoon
Solon is calm and confident by nature. He is the intelligent one and somehow can come across as arrogant and mean. He seems to be confident, but actually, he feels inferior to his brothers and believes that he is fundamentally different from his brothers. While trying to hide his inferiority by acting cool, he is also trying to hide a huge secret.
- Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Guy version, but with his hair being darker compared to his brothers and the lighter blue tips matches him being the most icy, distrusting and hostile character, he still fits the bill.
- Ambiguously Gay: Is the least interested in Sooha, plus the way he reacted to Enzy holding his hand out for a handshake seems awfully similar to Sooha's general reactions to Heli.
- Aloof Ally: Solon grows to be less distrusting of Sooha, but is still aloof to her.
- Big Brother Instinct: Solon's not the oldest amongst the brothers, but it doesn't change the fact that he's the most protective of his brothers and always takes care of them, although he also acts so hard on them. It's implied that one of the main reasons (aside from being suspicious of Sooha) he repeatedly tells his brothers to stay away from Sooha and stop getting close to her is so that they won't get heartbroken when she eventually leaves or betrays them.
- Black Sheep: Solon is heavily implied to be the black sheep amongst the brothers, not helped with him always being dunked on by his brothers (especially Shion). His werewolf heritage makes him feel extra isolated, comsidering that his brothers hate werewolves.
- Blue Is Heroic: Solon has a blue Color Motif (blue ombre hair, blue left eye, blue telepathy bubbles and blue wolf form) and is one of the main characters.
- Boomerang Bigot: Solon is half-werewolf but repeatedly insults werewolves as much as his brothers do, though given how tragic his character is, his comments might be aimed more on himself.
- Broken Bird: A rare male example. While the entire group of vampire boys have gone through an array of hardships over the years, fleeing from threats and and leaving behind many people they cared about which has caused them pain, it seems to have impacted Solon the most. In addition to his ability he keeps a secret from even his brothers, these experiences have caused him great frustration and leads his personality to come off as more pessimistic and makes Solon choose to distance himself from the humans and abstains from establishing any kind of friendship with one, including Sooha.
- Butt-Monkey: Suffers from this on the more comical moments, from being the No-Respect Guy who no one listens to, got his room being used as the group's meeting place simply because it was the cleanest one, to actually being considered as The Scapegoat should Sooha get suspicious of what they really are. Also, he's almost always on the receiving end of Shion's teasing and the group's comments on werewolves.
- Byronic Hero: Has some traits of this character archetype: being intelligent, pessimistic, self-deprecating due to his inferiority complex, opinionated, comes off as an arrogant Jerkass to some, is deeply haunted by the boys' shitty childhood, and is pretty moody.
- Character Tic: Whenever he's talking about sensitive topics, either his lips twitch or he grits his teeth when it's too much for him to bear. His face also goes fully red when he's caught off-guard, embarrassed, or flattered.
- Comical Angry Face: Solon is often prone to making this kind of face thanks to his Hair-Trigger Temper.
- Cruel to Be Kind: Heavily implied to be the case on why he wants his brothers to stop trying to be friends with Sooha, aside from his general suspicion. Not like they listen to what he says.
- Curtains Match the Window: Downplayed to him having odd-colored eyes and ombre hair, but Solon's left eye is a similar shade of blue as the tips of his hair.
- The Cynic: The vampires getting constantly betrayed in the past made Solon in the present extremely suspicious of others and doesn't trust people like Sooha so easily. It's subtly implied that Solon possibly doesn't trust his brothers either, given the fact he's hiding his true heritage from them.
- The Dog Bites Back: Solon doesn't take Shion's tricks and sassy remarks about him passively, which often results in their arguments.
- Duality Motif: Unlike his brothers, Solon has odd-colored eyes, one a similar shade of gold as Heli's and another blue. He's actually a vampire-werewolf hybrid.
- Dude, Where's My Respect?: Unfortunately, due to his Black Sheep status, Solon's efforts to protect his brothers aren't exactly appreciated by them, and he's teased at best, and his brothers plan to use as a scapegoat at worst. No wonder he gets ticked off a lot.
- Expressive Hair: Solon's hair points upward whenever he gets really angry.
- Fantastic Racism: On the suffering end of this, as whenever his brothers talk shit about werewolves (which is his other half), he either stays awkwardly silent or makes his own comment on the matter (that seems to be directed to himself more than werewolves in general).
- Fashionable Asymmetry: Solon has two earrings (one dangling and one diamond) on his right ear only.
- The Friend Nobody Likes: It says a lot about your relationship with your brothers when they repeatedly ditch you for a girl they just met and later one forces you to change seats for said girl.
- Hairstyle Inertia: Downplayed, but whenever he plays Nightball he ties his hair in a ponytail like the one he styled his hair into as a child, and for most of the time his hair is down. His hair is also much longer than it was back then.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: Fitting with the ironic Informed Attribute below, there is rarely a moment where Solon isn't angry, having an extremely short fuse and often shouting loudly when scolding his brothers in a rather aggressive way. This might have something to do with his hybrid nature, as vampire-werewolf hybrids are said to have an amplified temper.
- Hidden Heart of Gold: Solon's described to have the warmest heart despite looking and acting cold on the outside.
- Hybrid Monster: Solon is actually a mix between a vampire and a werewolf, and he even transforms into his wolf form for the first time in Chapter 20. How he became that way is currently unknown, and he sometimes goes to great lengths to conceal this from his brothers.
- Ice King: How Solon outwardly presents himself. Although more quick-tempered than most examples, he still fits as he has a blue Color Motif, is the coldest one in the group, almost always seen with a frown on his face, has a hidden Inferiority Superiority Complex, doesn't consider Sooha a friend nor really enjoy her presence, and considered the most dangerous ones of the group as he is secretly a powerful vampire-werewolf hybrid.
- Ineffectual Loner: Solon is generally aloof and very insistent on the vampires not befriending Sooha and other humans.
- Inferiority Superiority Complex: Despite his intelligence and cool exterior, he secretly feels inferior to his brothers and believes he doesn't completely fit in, considering himself fundamentally different from them. Being half of the very thing his brothers hate doesn't really help with his insecurities.
- Informed Attribute: Described as calm by Sunghoon and official sites. Yet in the Webtoon he's actually... not.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Although nobody likes how he's so suspicious of Sooha and mad when no one listens to him, he's not wrong that she seems too good to be true, given that she reveals to them her hatred for vampires (which is what they are). He's also right on the money that the others shouldn't have exposed their powers to her, as it was a very risky and stupid move given how they were betrayed before when their true heritage came to light and the dangerous aftermath of it. Jakah wasn't very happy with the others when he learned what they did.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While Solon can be a bit curt and come across as arrogant and downright mean, and he's prone to get suspicious of new people, plus is pretty easy to piss off and is very unhappy at the thought of Sooha being a new addition to the group, it's not out of maliciousness but because he's been too hurt to let more people in his life. He does still act civil with Sooha and nevertheless remains loyal and protective of his brothers and selflessly puts their safety, well-being and best interests over his own, even if he must do it so harshly and doesn't get any sort of appreciation for it, plus is actually pretty kind and sweet (well, in his own way).
- Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Is a Bishōnen like his brothers and his blue ombre tails reach his chest.
- Mood-Swinger: Can go from being pissed as hell to perfectly calm in a split second.
- Neat Freak: Mentioned to be this by the others, and it's shown with how neat and tidy his room is.
- Not So Above It All: Despite appearing calm and mature, Solon is prone to losing his temper easily, and often (in a rather passionate way, too) engages in petty and childish arguments with Shion.
- Only Sane Man: Solon tries to be more rational and is the voice of reason for his brothers (but unfortunately, since he's the Black Sheep, they don't really they listen to him or take him seriously).
- Perpetual Frowner: Not once have we seen this guy crack a smile.
- Pragmatic Hero: Befitting his cynicism, he can be this, especially when it comes to outsiders and his brothers, being willing to break their hearts to protect them.
- Real Men Wear Pink: Children Of Vamfield reveals that Solon is a ballerina.
- Somebody Doesn't Love Raymond: The only male character who did not like Sooha at first meeting. Even as of now, he's still rather distant and cold to her.
- Steamrolled Smart Guy: One of the more serious and intelligent brothers (although sometimes loses his cool easily), and not a single one of his brothers (save for maybe Jakah) listens to whatever he tells them to do and tries to get close to Sooha anyway.
- Token Minority: Solon is the only character who's a hybrid.
- Tsundere: Solon's relationship with Sooha is indeed a unique one. On one hand, Solon's been nothing but cold and standoffish to Sooha, despite the latter wanting to get along with him and become friends. But on the other hand while he may pretend to pay no mind to her, deep down Solon indeed cares for her well-being and ensures her safety. He allows her to take his seat in class, he pulls her backwards when a nightball comes flying at her (despite claiming to just be "wiping the dust off her jacket" when she thanks him), wishes her goodnight and even straight up tells her that his attitude towards her is not because he hates her, scolds Shion for leaving Sooha alone in an unfamiliar place allowing dangerous vampires to attack her, and is rage-driven upon seeing Sooha hurt and knocked out, causing him to activate his secret ability in order to protect her despite claiming it was out of annoyance towards the enemy's tactics. He also tends to get rather defensive when complimented out of either being genuinely flattered, shy, embarrassed, or all three.
- In Episode 8, Enzy offers an amiable handshake to Solon after finding out that he's half-werewolf and Solon actually reaches out to return it, even seeming a bit shy when introducing himself.
- Undying Loyalty: Although his general personality doesn't make it obvious, Solon is loyal to a fault to his brothers and will stay with them no matter what. Unfortunately, their loyalty to him isn't as strong.Solon: Do you see now? I told you not get close to her. We're meant to stay with each other and with each other only.
- Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Children Of Vamfield reveals that as a child, while still reserved, Solon had his moments of smiling and made friends with the people delivering stuff to Vamfield. Present day Solon is a Perpetual Frowner and vehemently against making friends.
- Warring Natures: Enzy Lampshaded how on Earth is Solon is a vampire-werewolf hybrid when said species hate each other.
- Wild Hair: Solon's hair is longer, messier and more outlandishly colored than any of the other vampires. This foreshadows the later reveal in Episode 7 where we find out he's half-werewolf.

Jaan is the type that is solid as a rock. He can often seem a little closed off and blunt. This makes it hard for others to get close to him. But despite his cold appearance, he deeply cares about his brothers and he is someone who is considerate and thoughtful. It’s just that he needs a little time to show his true feeling.
- Angry Eyebrows: Jaan is first introduced to the readers as a very fierce and angry-looking character with sharp, angry eyebrows. Given his ability of supernatural strength and de facto role as the muscle of the vampire group, it fits him.
- Badass Driver: Children Of Vamfield reveals that Jaan's job is a driver.
- Big Brother Instinct: Jaan's other notable trait aside from his stoicism is his deep love and care for his brothers and their general safety and well-being. This trait is best shown in the Troubled Backstory Flashback where he carried Jakah as the group ran away from an Angry Mob.
- The Big Guy: Jaan serves as this to the group, as he is one of the heavy hitters with his Super-Strength.
- Cold Ham: Jaan is prone to as much dramatics as resident Large Ham Shion, complete with Bishie Sparkle, all while never losing his stoic demeanor.
- The Comically Serious: No matter how absurd the situation is, Jaan will never show an ounce of emotion.
- Custom Uniform: Jaan doesn't wear his jacket and rolls his sleeves up.
- Fashionable Asymmetry: Jaan has a small black hoop earring on his right ear only.
- Genius Bruiser: Aside from being The Big Guy, he is one of the more logical members in the group along with Jakah.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: Not to Solon's extent, but it's still there. He even has the eyebrows to match!
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He often comes across as cold, distant, blunt, a bit intimidating and indifferent, making it hard for others to get close to the standoffish vampire. Despite his often emotionless exterior, Jaan actually cares deeply for his brothers. Since he's considerate and thoughtful deep down, it takes more effort for him to show his true feelings. And once you get to know him he is quite the helpful and funny guy.
- Not So Above It All: Sooha really brings out Jaan's dorky side, because out of all the brothers joining Shion in crazy antics just to impress her, it's him.
- Super-Strength: Jaan's ability. The only person who can rival his strength is Sooha.
- The Stoic: Jaan comes across as emotionless. He does cares about things like his brothers, though, plus can act like a dramatic dork.

Jakah is the smartest one among the seven vampire brothers. He’s quick and knows how to make rational decisions. It helps him to be able to protect the identity of his brothers while they live among humans. He believes that he needs to do more to protect his brothers.
- Academic Athlete: Not only is Jakah the most intelligent vampire in their group, he's also the one who's the most passionate of Nightball.
- Aloof Ally: Downplayed, as while he feels the same mysterious connection towards Sooha and eventually lets her be a part of their group with the two getting along well, Jakah is the in-between regarding the vampires' actual feelings towards her, with him being mostly indifferent while Solon remains distant from Sooha and the rest immediately warmly welcomed her to the group with open arms.
- Aura Vision: Jakah's secondary ability. Jakah is hypersensitive to detecting waves of vampiric energy, allowing him to detect the presence of other vampires that might be around. At one point, he detects rather strong waves from Sooha, and although he deduces that she is definitely not a vampire, he also points out that "she's definitely not an ordinary human".
- Hidden Depths: Children Of Vamfield reveals that Jakah is a surgeon. He's also good at hacking.
- The Lancer: Jakah is Heli's right hand man, being the overall planner of the group and being more pragmatic than him. And whenever Heli is out of commission, Jakah temporarily takes over the helms of leadership.
- Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Is a Bishōnen like his brothers and his white locks are grown past his shoulders, long enough for him to need to tie it up in a half-ponytail.
- Mature Younger Sibling: Jakah is implied to be one of the younger brothers, and him being The Lancer and The Reliable One of the group says a lot about his maturity.
- Mystical White Hair: Has pure white hair and is one of the more mysterious brothers from Sooha's point of view.
- Not So Above It All: For all his maturity and rationality, even Jakah has his mischievous moments. His Establishing Character Moment has him screwing with Jaan. Children Of Vamfield also revealed that he was a bit of a prankster as a little kid.
- Only Sane Man: Being The Smart Guy and The Reliable One of the group, he's obviously this, given that he actually takes what Solon's opinions to heart and constantly tells the vampires to keep a lower profile and not to interact with Sooha so much for her own safety.
- Passionate Sports Girl: Guy version. Jakah, along with Noa, seems the most into Nightball, given that they were introduced practicing for the upcoming game.
- The Perfectionist: Jakah is a perfectionist who believes he needs to do more and tends to be hard on himself when he fails at something like protecting his brothers.
- Pragmatic Hero: Like Solon, he has his moments of this, befitting his roles as smart guy and decision maker of the brothers. Some of his decisions imply that he's probably even more pragmatic than him.
- The Reliable One: With his intelligence, sensibility and ability to take charge when needed, Jakah is very dependable, hence why he's Heli's second-in-command.
- The Smart Guy: Described to have the superior intellect out of his brothers and is the smartest and most clever one. Jakah shows it with the way he can think quickly on his feet to decide the best course of action and is also well-known for his rational decision-making.
- Super-Speed: Jakah's ability. Sooha describes his supernatural speed as so fast that it felt like he was teleporting in Chapter 10, when Jakah saved Sooha from a bunch of low-level vampires that were after her.
- Those Two Guys: Befitting being the two youngest brothers, whether they would be playing Nightball or fighting bad guys, Jakah and Noa will always be seen together.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Jakah scolds his brothers for showing Sooha their unique abilities so rashly out of fear of exposing their true identities.
- Member he’s based on: Ni-ki
- All There in the Manual: The Instagram posts about information on the vampires reveal that aside from control over shadows, Noa can also control nocturnal animals. He hasn't done this yet in the actual comic.
- The Baby of the Bunch: Giving that the person he's based on is the youngest member of ENHYPEN, Noa is this as well, having an innocent and quiet personality. Supported in the flashbacks to their childhood, where compared to them he looks much younger, almost like a toddler.
- Big Brother Worship: Openly looks up to his older brothers and often goes along with whatever they're doing. Best shown during his interactions with Jakah.
- Big Little Brother: Noa is the youngest but also one of the taller vampires. Children Of Vamfield reveals his height to be an impressive 184 cm.
- Book Dumb: When the vampires were at the library to impress Sooha by pretending to share her love of reading like Heli, Noa... wasn't pretending very well.Jakah: You're holding the book upside down, Noa.
- Casting a Shadow: His ability is shadow magic. One of the things he can do is prevent people from leaving with their own shadows.
- Custom Uniform: Noa wears a black turtleneck sweater under his shirt and has no tie.
- I Got Bigger: As a child, Noa was the smalllest. In the present he grew to be very tall.
- Informed Flaw: Was once described to be mischievous, and also said to be hasty and clumsy in his attempts to accomplish his desire to keep up with the others, be useful and as cool as them, but not once has he shown any signs of having any of those traits. Children Of Vamfield shows the mischievous streak when he plays a prank with Jakah.
- Kuudere: Although not as cold as the likes of Solon, Noa is this in spades.
- Nice Guy: Noa is kind, accepting and deeply empathetic, even as a child he's nothing but comforting to a sickly man even when he's begging the brothers to go.
- Not So Stoic: Despite his chill nature Noa is not afraid to have his emotional moments (like a face of pure shock).
- Passionate Sports Girl: Guy version. Noa, along with Jakah, seems the most into Nightball, given that they were introduced practicing for the upcoming game.
- Purple Is Powerful: Noa has a purple Color Motif (purple hair and telepathy bubbles) and his powers of darkness manipulation are noted to have a lot of potential.
- The Quiet One: Has less lines compared to the others.
- Shrinking Violet: He seems more timid and quieter his older brothers, and even has dark purple hair to match.
- The Stoic: Noa doesn't express much emotions, and generally has a poker face on, even when interacting with his brothers and Sooha. Children Of Vamfield shows that he was like this even as a child.
- Those Two Guys: Befitting being the two youngest brothers, whether they would be playing Nightball or fighting bad guys, Jakah and Noa will always be seen together.
The Orphanage
- Evil Orphanage Lady: Heavily implied to have been one, based on how fondly the vampires remember her.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Marge might have been cruel to the vampires when they were children and tends to act coldly at times, but she was simply protecting them and later Sooha as well.
- Poor Communication Kills: None of the story would've even happened if Marge had simply said why she's doing what she does.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: She kept the vampires isolated in the orphanage because Dardan was after them for their powers.
The Other Vampires
- Betty and Veronica: Dardan's the Veronica to Heli's Betty for Sooha's (and Selen's) Archie, which was more apparent in their past lives, as while Heli was as protective and loyal as he ever was to Sooha for Selen, even if she would someday marry someone else other than him, Dardan was Ax-Crazy and entitled enough to kill millions including her.
- Big Bad: Dardan is the villain of the story.
- Dead Person Impersonation: His present form is based on Sooha's Childhood Friend Chris, who died when he and Sooha were still kids.
- Icy Blue Eyes: One of the few characters with blue eyes, and he's the Big Bad.
- Love Makes You Evil: He was so obsessed with Selen that he became a powerful vampire and started murdering people.
- Yandere: Dardan tends to go for the kill, and not even Sooha is safe from him.
