"Righteousness shall reign throughout the cosmos. On this day, at this very moment, a new chapter begins. And the author in that history shall be: Zamasu! Holy magistrate of justice eternal!"

The Potara Fusion of Goku Black and Future Zamasu, who serves as the final antagonist of the Future Trunks arc. After his physical form is destroyed, he becomes Infinite Zamasu, the remaining will following his destruction.

    A-F
  • Abstract Apotheosis: Played horrifically straight. In his final moments, Zamasu, in Gowasu's words "cast off his form as a god and is trying to become Justice and Order itself", meaning he's become an Eldritch Abomination resembling that of Giygas.
Gowasu (Dub): He was cut down. But thanks to the dragon's power, his being remains. It seems he's embraced this new ethereal state. No longer confined by his divine vessel, he may be trying to become part of the very fabric of the cosmos. His own twisted idea of justice and order made manifest.
Gowasu (Sub): Zamasu... might be trying to become the universe. He's cast off his form as a god, and is trying to become justice and order itself.
  • Achilles' Heel: As immensely powerful as he is, he has a critical weakness: Goku Black's mortal component, while making him extremely powerful, lowers him from 'completely invulnerable' to simply really hard to kill. That said, successfully killing Fused Zamasu does little to stop his immortal soul from taking over the multiverse by merging with it. This is changed in the manga where he instead has a time limit of one hour, just like Vegito, since he isn't a true Supreme Kai.
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • In Toriyama's original script (more accurately duplicated in the manga than the anime), Fused Zamasu seems to be only moderately stronger than Black's Rosé form, probably because his fusion partner, Future Zamasu, is so much weaker than he is (Cell Games level instead of Super Saiyan Blue level as he is in the anime). An interview with Toriyama revealed that in his original outline, Fused Zamasu "wasn't all that strong of a character", and "his strength was such that two Super Saiyan Blues were more than enough to take him on." The manga accurately depicted this by having SSB Goku be only slightly weaker than him after solving SSB's stamina drain problem, and inflicting an injury with a Kamehameha that would have defeated him right there if he wasn't immortal.
    • The anime, by contrast, boosts him quite a bit for Rule of Drama. Him taking a heavy blow from Goku - who enhanced his SSB with a base-level Kaio-ken (only present in the anime's continuity) - and only getting his Holy Halo broken is just the beginning. He matches Super Saiyan Blue Vegito blow for blow, and even seems slightly stronger in one of their clashes. Manga Fused Zamasu in the same fight gets curb-stomped even harder than Gohan-Buu did, as not even his special techniques can slow Vegito down. It's implied that Manga Vegito doesn't even need anything higher than basic Super Saiyan to crush Fused Zamasu (a blast from Vegito's base form blew Fused Zamasu apart), and he just used that form to rub it in. According to Toyataro, Vegito wasn't even in Toriyama's original script.
    • However, the manga Zamasu (and presumably Zamasu in the original draft) possesses Complete Immortality, unlike the anime version that didn't because Black wasn't immortal, which allows him to fight without negative repercussions. His Healing Factor also allowed him to create an army, as each piece of him would regrow and form a new Zamasu. And despite the difference in power, both versions turned out to be too much for the heroes and they were forced to summon Zeno to destroy him for good, taking the universe alongside with them.
  • Adaptational Curves: The manga version of Fused Zamasu is drawn more like a brute and has a heavier build than Future Zamasu. In the anime, he's far more slender, until Goku melts half of his face and his appearance becomes that of a purple slime monster.
  • Adaptational Intelligence:
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Manga Fused Zamasu's abilities have a few changes compared to the anime version. In the manga he displays the matter materialization that Shin has, allowing him to create katchin to hurl offensively at enemies with telekinesis. He can also create portals in the fabric of reality like Janemba. His final form that emerged after he was bisected from Future Trunks has also changed from a universe consuming Eldritch Abomination with no physical form, to Fused Zamasu's immortality causing his regeneration to go haywire so any fragment of him that broke off would regrow into a clone of him.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: A Downplayed example. While both the anime and manga versions of Fused Zamasu are egoistical Jerkass Gods who wants to reshape the multiverse in their image in the name of 'justice', the anime version of Fused Zamasu sees the death of the gods as a regrettable step towards peace. He also takes Goku's shell as his own so he can always remember the mistakes of the gods and even shed tears over all he's done. In the manga, Fused Zamasu doesn't give two craps about his fellow gods and happily wants to wipe out anyone that isn't himself and even views Gowasu and Shin as inferior gods. Now he's less about justice and more about becoming a multi-universal ruler. Another difference is that Manga Fused Zamasu fights on the ground and doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, using similarly defensive techniques like the anime version of Present Zamasu. Anime Fused Zamasu refuses to fight on the ground, choosing to hover above his opponents and hammers them with over-the-top energy attacks since mortals shouldn't touch a god. When he does directly confront the heroes it's because he's having a mental and emotional breakdown.
  • Adaptational Villainy: The manga version of Fused Zamasu is somehow worse than his anime counterpart. In the anime, despite his huge ego and calling himself the "supreme god" of the multiverse, he does somewhat regret killing his fellow gods and sees taking Goku's body as his duty so he can always remember the sins of mortals and the failure of the gods. He even shed tears over his "burden". In the manga, he loses all of his noble intentions and declares that any intelligent life that isn't himself will be eliminated, god and mortal. He also calls Gowasu and Shin lesser gods. Finally, after his long battle with Goku and the others, he decides to just nuke the entire galaxy to be rid of them.
  • All for Nothing: After losing his physical body to Future Trunks, he fuses with the multiverse to become 'justice itself', turning into an Eldritch Abomination that instantly wipes out all life. Although extremely powerful, he is also an Almighty Idiot who seems to have lost all sense of self and can't even enjoy his victory. Then, Future Zeno comes and destroys the timeline with him in it. Meaning, the paradise he just created is no more and he didn't even kill the people who caused him the most grief.
  • Almighty Idiot:
    • After his transition into Infinite Zamasu, he doesn't seem to have any true vestige of intelligence or sentience anymore, having been driven so Ax-Crazy that it's robbed all but the most basic traits of his personality from him. Considering the staggering amount of power he has gained in this state, this is a good thing as he's too out of his mind to even notice the heroes and therefore outside of the retaliatory attack to Goku, Vegeta and Future Trunks' attack, would no longer pose a threat to them directly.
    • Subverted in the manga where he retains all of his prior intelligence and rationality, due to his Infinite form merely spawning from a wonky Healing Factor. And likewise subverted in Xenoverse 2 where he also retains enough intelligence and overall sentience to speak.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: Even after becoming a reality encompassing Eldritch Abomination capable of easily wiping out mortal life, he's still no match at all for Zeno, who annihilates him.
  • Antagonist Abilities: For all intents and purposes, Fused Zamasu is nigh-unstoppable; he has both Zamasu and Black's vast power and movesets combined, Future Zamasu's Complete Immortality, Goku Black's ability to grow stronger from the pain he takes during a fight, and a permanent Super Saiyan Rosé state. It says a lot about him that Goku and Vegeta have to fuse into Vegito again just to stand a chance against him.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Goku, Future Trunks, and even Vegeta, having inherited his components' hatred for the three Saiyans. While he sees them as bugs to be squashed, he absolutely despises them and is prone to losing it whenever the three of them manage to resist him. In particular, he really hates Goku, seeing him as the symbol of everything he hates about gods and mortals and Goku was the one who melted half of his face. He also gets fed up with Future Trunks since he's always getting in his way and just won't die. In Xenoverse 2, he also grows to hate the Time Patroller and their allies with just as equal animosity, considering that he assaulted the Time Nest itself to hunt them down.
  • Arc Villain: Is the fusion of the two villains of the saga, and thus a continuation of their roles as this.
  • Ascended to a Higher Plane of Existence: After his physical body is destroyed, he becomes pure energy and encompasses the entire planet in his essence.
  • Astral Projection: After his physical body is destroyed by Future Trunks, Zamasu's astral projection appears and merges itself with the Multiverse in order to become justice itself. In doing so, he kills all life forms in the Future Multiverse at once except for the heroes. Thus, he fulfills his goal: create a Multiverse where only Zamasu is its sole inhabitant. Thankfully, Future Zeno erases him before he could spread to other timelines.
  • The Assimilator: After his physical body is killed by Future Trunks, he transforms into an Eldritch Abomination, covers the skies of the Earth and then proceeds to start assimilating the multiverse via transmitting himself through it like a demented broadcast. It was also lucky that he was killed in the nick of time too, as he was in danger of invading and absorbing other timelines as well.
  • Assimilation Backfire: Him being a fusion of Goku Black turns out to be his Fatal Flaw. Since Black wasn't immortal, he lost part of his immortality and could now be defeated if enough damage is done to his body.
  • Assimilation Plot: His final form, Infinite Zamasu, is a multiverse spanning Eldritch Abomination intent on becoming everything. He succeeds to such a degree that Future Zeno has to destroy the future timeline to put him down for good.
  • Attack Its Weak Point: Goku and Vegeta destroy his Wall of Light by shattering its core.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: A fusion of a super powerful hijacked Saiyan and immortal Supreme Kai sounds like the ultimate foe on paper, but in execution, Fused Zamasu barely gets to show off his might as his ego prompts him to lapse into Evil Gloating every chance he gets while his body undergoes heavy Body Horror mutations due to Black's half being mortal, which also removes Future Zamasu's complete invulnerability allowing him to be killed. The fusion also being two minds of the same person quickly degrades his sanity to being near incomprehensible in his ramblings, making him less capable in a dragged out fight.
  • Ax-Crazy:
    • A somewhat more self-controlled version compared to Goku Black and Future Zamasu, but it's obvious through the joy he takes in razing the environment around him as well as his sadistic enjoyment in toying with Goku and Vegeta that he's just as crazy as his predecessors. As the final battle wears on, this trait only increases and increases until he's a rambling screaming mess. His final form is basically a Laughing Mad engine of pure destruction.
    • He's even worse in this regard in the manga, as he openly tries to torture Vegeta to death and when Goku fights him to a standstill using his completed Super Saiyan Blue form, he goes ballistic and tries to blow the entire galaxy to kingdom come in a fit of rage, even when the massive output of power has a high chance of killing him as well in the process.
  • Badass Boast: Gives one upon being formed and over 90% of his dialogue is him saying how awesome he is and how much the heroes suck:
Fused Zamasu: My form is justice. And my form is the world. Worship me. Give praise unto me. Me, the beautiful, the sublime...Me, the invincible, the almighty and divine...All hail Zamasu.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: In a twisted sense, he got what he wanted when Future Zeno erased him, along with the entire corrupted universe. Every mortal in it was destroyed, along with him, leaving Future Zeno–the one true god of the multiverse–alone in a vacant cosmos. Too bad it also meant that all his efforts making it into a paradise free of mortals was destroyed as well...
  • Battle Strip: In the manga, he receives enough damage to his clothes fighting a mastered Super Saiyan Blue Goku, that he decides to take it off, fighting without it, until he restores it again anyway.
  • Barehanded Blade Block: Catches Future Trunks' sword with one hand during their fight and manages to break it, and then latter briefly manages to catch Future Trunks' Spirit Bomb-infused Laser Blade between his hands to keep him from slicing him in half top-down. Trunks then breaks out and cuts him in half bottom-up.
  • Beauty Is Bad: Upon fusing, he boasts of how beautiful he has become with his holy aura backed by his Pretty Boy looks. He's also a bigger bastard than Black and Future Zamasu combined... 'cause he is.
  • Beam Spam: How his final form turns Earth into a scorched wasteland in the anime.
  • Big Bad: He takes over this role, as the past two Big Bads, Goku Black and Future Zamasu, combined to become him.
  • Black-and-White Insanity: Like his components, his worldview is that mortals are evil mistakes of the gods and gods (or rather himself) are good and holy beings. This is part of what drives him insane: the contradiction between him considering mortals inherently sinful and being part mortal and needing the power of one left him in complete conflict that is reflected in his appearance upon mutating.
  • Blasphemous Boast: His Badass Boast is this since he declares himself as the supreme god. Yes, he is a god, and an extremely powerful one, but he still isn't the Top God. Once Future Zeno arrives, he quickly discovers why he's not.
  • Blob Monster: Due to the instability of his body, a result of the immortal Future Zamasu fusing with the mortal Goku Black, the right side of Fused Zamasu's body begins to take on traits of this, essentially becoming purple goo.
  • Body Horror: Turns out that fusing an immortal with a non-immortal wasn't a wise idea, and the combination causes instability in Fused Zamasu. When Goku successfully blasted away his Sphere of Destruction, it melts the right side of his body. As Fused Zamasu draws in more power, his right side grows more unstable, which escalates until the bones of his right arm liquefy and leave it limply flapping in the breeze as he supercharges himself, and culminating in his entire right arm transforming into an elongated purple appendage as long as Zamasu himself.
  • Bolt of Divine Retribution: Given his self-declared status as a supreme god, it's only natural he has one of these in the form of two purple lightning bolts fired from his halo that he calls the Absolute Lightning. He also zaps himself with some he called down from the heavens himself in order to transform his right arm into a monstrous mass of purple liquified flesh after getting his Holy Halo destroyed.
  • Bond Villain Stupidity:
    • Despite having the power to utterly waste Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks in one attack, he chooses to toy with them. It takes Goku melting his face for him to finally get serious.
    • His manga counterpart is even worse in this regard. Much like in the anime, he could have easily killed Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks upon fusing, but chooses to toy with them. Unlike his anime counterpart, he still screws around with them even after Vegito Blue smashed him into the ground. What makes this even worse is that he knows that he has an one hour time limit since he isn't a full Supreme Kai, yet he still wastes time.
  • Boomerang Bigot: By taking Goku Black's mortal nature into himself, he's technically as much of a mortal as the mortals he hates. Interestingly, Fused Zamasu is well aware of this and was actually what he wanted all along. He knowingly forced this contradiction on himself to forever be reminded of the 'sins' of mortals.
  • Break the Haughty: He starts out poised and confident that he will succeed, believing himself to be the true and only God. But after having his attacks repeatedly thrown back at him, the right side of his face and later, his arm reduced to mush, and his Holy Halo broken by a being he thinks of both as inferior and his Arch-Enemy, he's ultimately reduced to an openly crazed madman frenziedly trying to tear and hack his enemies to bits with his bare hands.
  • Breath Weapon: When he purges the Earth of all life, he releases a full-on Beam Spam onto the planet below that are emitted from his mouths.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Unlike his components, he partakes in this. Given the names he gives them, it seems to just be another way to declare his godhood.
Fused Zamasu: O great Holy Wrath, smite the wicked!
  • Came Back Strong: As it turns out; destroying his physical body actually makes the situation worse as he becomes a multiverse spanning Eldritch Abomination that is only defeated by Zeno completely obliterating the timeline he's in.
  • Came Back Wrong: While his final form is a multiverse spanning, multiple timeline threatening Eldritch Abomination, it also seems to have rendered him completely insane to the point being Laughing Mad and 'destroy everything' are all he seems capable of.
  • Canon Name:
    • He has several of these depending on the source of the media adaptation. He's referred to as Fusion Zamasu in the anime and certain games, God Zamas in the manga, and Fused Zamasu in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
    • His multiverse assimilating Eldritch Abomination form is also dubbed Infinite Zamasu for the the Dragon Ball Super Box's Character set.
  • Cessation of Existence: Zeno kills him dead, along with his entire timeline. After Whis decides to recreate the future, he says he'll make a note to have Future Beerus destroy him before he can cause trouble.
  • Clipped-Wing Angel: During his fight with Vegito, he doubles in size. Though it gives him a power boost, it also makes him slower. On top of that, Fused Zamasu, in general, applies for Goku Black and Future Zamasu. While he's leagues more powerful than his parts, the fact that Black isn't immortal means that Fused Zamasu can be killed. The manga version has it even worse, as since Goku Black and Future Zamasu are not actual Supreme Kais, their fusion isn't permanent and will burn itself out in an hour.
    • The manga version takes it to the next level when he defuse. Turns out he can't do it all the way in thanks to both of his components being basically the same person, so they end up as a weak, half-Zamasu half-Black abomination that even Mutated SS2 Trunks (who is only nearly as powerful as a Buu arc SS3 Goku and far weaker than even Black's base form) can cut them apart. Fortunately for them, this form doesn't last long, as he then turns back into Fused Zamasu and starts duplicating himself endlessly.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: In the Super manga, he swears to make Vegeta suffer until his body can't take anymore before finally deciding to end his misery.
  • Cold Ham: Much like Black, he gives bold declaration of godhood and how he is the universe, while never raising his voice. That all changes, however, when he starts having his Villainous Breakdown.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Strangely Subverted with Fused Zamasu. Despite being the fusion of Black and Future Zamasu he inherited none of their pragmatic personalities. While Black and Future Zamasu would have killed Goku, Future Trunks, and Vegeta the moment they have the chance, even if they played with them a little, Fused Zamasu spends most of his fight hovering above them and talking about how great he is. This, along with several other factors, costs him the fight. Although in the manga he uses Future Mai as a human shield in order to put Goku out of action after nearly dying at the hands of Goku's incomplete Destruction technique.
  • The Comically Serious: During his grand speech to Vegito about why he took Goku's body, he burst into tears about the burden of being a god carrying the sins of both the mortals and gods. Vegito isn't impressed and can't believe that he's crying.
  • Complete Immortality: He inherited it from Future Zamasu in the manga. This makes him completely unkillable; even Beerus admits that the Gods of Destruction can't kill an immortal, and that's before he started duplicating himself endlessly. The anime changes this: because Goku Black was mortal, his immortality is no longer perfect, causing his right side to regenerate improperly, becoming a melted purple ooze that only grows more monstrous with time. Later, it is shown that his physical body can be destroyed but because Fused Zamasu had become such a Paradox Person, his soul was both material and immaterial at the same time transforming him from a Humanoid Abomination into a full-blown sentient Cosmic Flaw. Ultimately the only thing that can put him down is Zeno erasing the entire timeline so that he has nowhere to exist in.
  • Conservation of Ninjutsu: Subverted in the manga: when he goes into Infinite Zamasu mode, Goku points out that every clone of Fused Zamasu is just as powerful as the original. As even CSSB Goku lost to a single Fused Zamasu after a decent fight (while two SSBs plus Trunks were nothing to him), and there are hundreds of clones spawned in a few minutes, this makes him completely unstoppable... unless his opponent could, say, wipe out the entire multiverse in one shot.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He thoroughly thrashes Goku and Vegeta, beating them to the ground several times. Zamasu catches both of their simultaneous punches and breaks their arms by squeezing. In the manga, he also one-shots Trunks, knocking him out of his Super Mode in the process, literally just by glaring at him.note  Only a combination of a Rage Breaking Point from Future Trunks and a combined attack from Vegeta, as well as Goku at full-power using the Kaioken was able to have an effect on Zamasu, and that only annoyed him.
  • Curb-Stomp Cushion: Suffers this in the manga. At first, he's capable of easily overwhelming Goku and Vegeta single-handedly, but finds himself hopelessly outmatched during his fight with Vegito and only gained the upper hand thanks to the fusion wearing off earlier than expected due to the power of Super Saiyan Blue. Later he's capable of fighting Goku in his Completed Super Saiyan Blue state to a standstill (though he holds a slight advantage due to his immortality and the energy taking toll on Goku's body). Once he becomes Infinite Zamasu, he becomes strong enough to knock Goku around like a ragdoll.
  • Dark Is Evil: His transformation as Infinite Zamasu is a creepy Eldritch Abomination and laughs maniacally.
  • Deader than Dead: Fused Zamasu already met his defeat at the hands of Future Trunks' and his Spirit Bomb sword, until it's revealed only his body was destroyed and his essence continued to exist. He then goes One-Winged Angel and becomes a multiverse encompassing Eldritch Abomination that threatens to even expand into other timelines. Goku is forced to summon Future Zeno as a last resort, who responds by annihilating the entire future multiverse he'd assimilated, with Zamasu along with him. In addition, Whis then goes to the future before Future Beerus' death and warns him about the Zamasus so he can preemptively deal with Goku Black and Future Zamasu, creating a new timeline where Fused Zamasu never existed.
  • Death by Disfigurement: Justified as it's a sign his Healing Factor is failing. When he is born, Zamasu is almost angelic and holy looking but a blast to the face scars one side. This is taken further when his body further deforms and one of his arms mutate just in time for Trunks to destroy his physical form.
  • Death by Irony:
    • A being boasting constantly about how gods are superior to mortals, he is ultimately done in by a mortal using the power of other, even weaker mortals, to bisect him. Also, for a person who thinks of himself as the rightful Top God of the multiverse, Zeno comes in and takes him out with ease.
    • Another way to see his death, from a meta perspective: How is the "almighty supreme god" that is Zamasu defeated? By a Deus ex Machina in the form of Trunks' spirit sword. Then, Zamasu responds with a Diabolus ex Machina by transforming into Infinite Zamasu, where his soul assimilates with the multiverse, only to be destroyed by an actual Chekhov's Gun in the form of Zeno.
  • Determinator: Despite his body melting from Power Degeneration and his Healing Factor slowly giving up, his conviction to his Knight Templar cause is so great that he simply gets up and continues fighting. Even being split in half only kills him for about a minute. Even when he is reduced to a cloud of rage, devastation, and madness, his body and mind utterly destroyed, he still retains enough of himself to continue towards his goal of becoming the Top God. Goku says it best:
    Goku: This guy never quits.
  • Diabolus ex Machina: Infinite Zamasu. When it seems like Trunks had won against Zamasu, this form of Zamasu comes out of nowhere and makes things way harder for the team. Though, it doesn't last too long.
  • Disappears into Light: After being impaled and carved in half by a Spirit Bomb Sword-empowered Future Trunks, his physical form finally succumbs and dies of his wounds in this manner, Laughing Mad all the while.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Neither his opponents or himself saw that him only being half immortal would come back to cause him trouble. Granted, it boosts his power tremendously, but at the cost of his Healing Factor being flawed and causing him to mutate out of control. Later, he underestimates the power of mortals when their hopes, wishes, and energies combine into a singular person, allowing Future Trunks to finally put him down, his physical body anyway.
  • Dirty Coward: In the manga, when Goku almost kills him with an incomplete version of Beerus' Destruction technique, Fused Zamasu proceeds to portal out and grab Future Mai as a human shield, distracting Goku enough for Zamasu to take him out of the fight. He's also pretty cocky and smug when he corners the heroes in his infinite form, but when Goku summons Zeno, he and the rest of his clones pretty much shit themselves on the spot and spend their last moments running for their lives in terror.
  • Doppelmerger: Fused Zamasu is a Potara fusion between Future Zamasu and Goku Black, the latter being another version of Zamasu who stole Goku's body.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: When he winces in pain when Vegito stabs him, Vegito tells him he can feel pain because he merged with Son Goku. Zamasu goes on about merging with Black means he's taking upon himself to carry the gods' mistakes, Goku being one of them. What Vegito really meant was that he can be killed.
  • Drunk on the Dark Side:
    • His new immense power has somehow made him more of a megalomaniac, to the point that he literally sees himself as the center of the universe and causes planet-wide disasters just to show off.
    • He's even worse in the manga. He spends several panels testing his body by mopping the floor with Goku and Vegeta, before he declares himself god of everything. He shoots energy attacks into the sky to rain down on Goku and the others and laughs like a maniac to celebrate being the supreme god.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Debuted in Dragon Ball Heroes before his proper introduction in the show.
  • Eldritch Abomination: His final form, Infinite Zamasu, a living paradox created by killing a being that simultaneously is and is not immortal. It's a horrific, multiverse engulfing abomination that even begins to break into other timelines.
  • Enemy Summoner: He summons a bird-like Eldritch Abomination called the Wall of Light to use as a minion.
  • Establishing Character Moment: His first moments of existing consist of giving a Badass Boast, stroking his ego and declaring himself the absolute god of all creation.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Vegito, since he is a Potara Fusion as well. Both are overwhelmingly powerful fighters whose immense strength is only matched by their inflated yet arguably justified egos. What separates the two is that unlike Vegito, who fights for others and the safety of the world, Fused Zamasu fights for only himself and to be the only god in exsitence.
  • Evil Makes You Monstrous: According to Gowasu, the reason for his monstrous half is because his mutation is causing his inner evil and conflict to become manifest.
  • Evil Is Hammy: By the gods he claims to serve, yes. He starts out calm and reserved, but as the battle goes on and he has his Villainous Breakdowns he becomes more hammy, similar to Frieza on Namek. By the end, he's reduced to nothing but shouting at the top of his lungs, especially when Future Trunks joins the fight.
  • Expy:
    • Fused Zamasu is similar to Super 17, in the sense that both characters are fusions of two counterparts of the same individual. However, in Super 17's case, one of his fusees is an artificial incarnation (as Hell Fighter 17 is an artificial copy of Android 17).
    • Several fans have noticed many similarities between Infinite Zamasu and Giygas. Both being incomprehensible, formless Eldritch Abomination level monstrosities whose immense power comes at the price of complete lack of sapience.
    • The manga version of Infinite Zamasu is basically Metal-Cooler. Powerful enough to crush Goku and Vegeta easily, ends up summoning an entire army of clones each just as strong as the original, turns into a Clipped-Wing Angel much weaker than any of said clones at one point, and ultimately grabs the Idiot Ball hard enough that he lets the heroes win due to being unwilling to leverage his immense resources and power to wipe them out.
  • Facial Horror: When Goku reflected his Sphere of Destruction back at him, it melted the right side of his face, reducing the flesh to some kind of purple goo.
  • Fallen Angel: Is a fusion of two fallen Supreme Kais (technically two Kais, as the two stole their position). During his final battle with Goku, Vegeta, Trunks and Vegito, Zamasu is barely recognizable from the once proud and silent prodigious God he used to be, instead resembling a mutated monstrous demon. Others also refuse to treat him as a god, noting his actions are anything but god-like, highlighting his fall.
  • Family-Unfriendly Death: Trunks ultimately kills his physical form by slowly slicing him in half with his enhanced sword, starting from the groin on up.
  • Fangs Are Evil: His mutated form has fangs.
  • Fatal Flaw: Like Future Zamasu, his tendency to go on Motive Rants in the middle of battle leaves him wide open, which Vegito quickly reminds him of. His pride in his power is also his undoing. He could've killed the heroes the moment he was born, yet chose to play with them, allowing Goku to melt his face and for Goku and Vegeta to fuse.
  • Feels No Pain: At the start of the fight, nothing the heroes throw at him even make him flinch. It takes throwing back his sun-like attack with a kamehameha to do any damage, at which point this winds up being averted.
  • The Fighting Narcissist: Given both of his components are this, it's a given. Not only is he immensely powerful, his first words upon coming into being are declaring himself the noble and beautiful supreme god while demanding everyone to praise and adore him. He even flies into the characteristic "narcissistic rage" when Vegeta and Trunks force his Holy Wrath back at him. He's naturally not even scratched, but his ego was and his reaction is fly into a homicidal rage.
  • Final Boss: He's the final villain Future Trunks faces throughout his entire journey.
  • Flechette Storm: Can rain down explosive red energy spears from his Ring of Light he calls "Blades of Judgment".
  • From a Single Cell: Manga Infinite Zamasu does one better than both Cell and Majin Buu in that, any part of his flesh that's broken off will regenerate into a new Infinite Zamasu clone. He takes advantage of this to make an army of himself.
  • Forgot About His Powers: In the manga, Fused Zamasu only uses his paralysis ability once in his fight with CSSB Goku, despite how extremely useful it is. He doesn't use it against Vegito either, though in that case it's presumably because the power gap was too wide for it to work anyway (cf. Nappa pulling a No-Sell when Chaozu tried to use the same technique on him all the way back in the Saiyan arc). Anime Fused Zamasu uses very few of his abilities in general (preferring to just hover around in the sky and shoot weak ki blasts at infinitely weaker foes), though in his case he's more explicitly holding the Villain Ball and Cherry Tapping.
  • Fusion Dance: The Potara fusion of Goku Black and Future Zamasu. Although he mostly resembles Future Zamasu physically because of his green skin, outfit, and eye color, he has Black's outfit color palette, facial structure, and hair style. Personality-wise, he strongly favors Future Zamasu given his arrogance, his tendency to underestimate his opponents to the point of dropping his guard, having Villainous Breakdowns when things goes wrong, and his love of Motive Rants. In fact, very little of Black's personality is shown outside of the fact he has strong mood swings. Their shared traits, however, namely their A God Am I, narcissism, and Sadism, seem to have stacked and magnified.

    G-M
  • Genius Loci: After his physical body is destroyed, he becomes an Eldritch Abomination in an attempt to BECOME the multiverse.
  • The Gloves Come Off: Black and Future Zamasu could have formed him at any time, but only resort to doing so when they realize the mortals are a threat to them and have a way to permanently put Future Zamasu down. Black even says "No more games or half-measures" when they decide to form him.
  • A God Am I: While he is undeniably a God, since both of his components were Physical Gods, he still fits as he declares himself the supreme Top God. His first words upon coming into existence are telling everyone to praise and adore him. He takes it a step further by his attack names ('Blades of Judgment', 'Absolute Lightning', 'Holy Wrath') all being themed around his self declared status as the 'supreme god'.
  • God Is Evil: One of the most powerful gods ever to appear in the series, matched equally by his evil intent. Although, he thinks he's the good guy, while the rest of the multiverse is evil.
  • Godzilla Threshold: His very existence is birthed from one. Future Zamasu was having a Villainous Breakdown due to almost being sealed by the Mafuba/Evil Containment Wave. Therefore, Future Zamasu decides to stop screwing around and fuses with Goku Black to finish of the heroes.
  • Good Colors, Evil Colors: He plays with this. Although he has Goku Black's outfit color scheme, he's represented by a heavenly white aura and halo that is usually used to represent the heroes. This is because he sees himself as a heroic figure trying to save the multiverse from the foolishness of mortals and correcting a mistake by the gods. However, as he has his Villainous Breakdowns and he becomes disfigured, half his body becomes purple, mutated sludge, he shows himself for the villain that he is.
  • Grin of Audacity: Has one as he says his blasphemous boast.
  • Groin Attack: Is on the receiving end of one by Future Trunks, who cleaves him in half vertically starting at his groin. With a ki blade powered by the combined energy of everyone still alive left on Earth.
  • Guardian Entity: He's able to summon a massive purple avian entity called the Wall of Light that shoots lightning. Goku and Vegeta kill it by breaking its core.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: How an empowered Future Trunks destroys his physical body.
  • Hates Being Touched: Expanded from Present Zamasu.
Fused Zamasu: The lack of reverence you two exhibit in trying to lay hands upon a God, it is the worst kind of sin! Gods are meant to look down upon mortals. You insignificant beings are not worthy of touching our flesh so casually. And yet in spite of that fact, you have committed countless acts of humiliation against me, transgressions that are punishable by death!
  • He Who Fights Monsters: After Goku, Vegito and Future Trunks, the mortals whose power used for violence he hated the most, show him he isn't above any of them in any aspect, gone is the divine poise he conducted himself with in the beginning, and his fighting style changes to throwing a punch at his problem until it goes away - his unhinged savagery becoming undistinguishable expands from the aliens in the Babari planet whose conduct convinced him that mortals were below gods in the first place. His final form is a completely insane engine of destruction, making him much worse. At least the Babarians were able to make a rudimentary civilization and capable of something other than mindless destruction...
  • Holy Halo: He forms a giant ring of light behind his back that wouldn't be out of place in Final Fantasy. He can use it to fire various attacks, such as purple lightning and a red Flechette Storm. Gowasu even calls it such. It ends up breaking after his Body Horror manifests.
  • Hell on Earth: After he transforms into an Eldritch Abomination, he ends up transforming the Earth into a derelict, uninhabitable wasteland while becoming a sky full of cackling Zamasu heads. While it's not Hell per se, it definitely comes as close as you can get.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Because Zamasu fused with the mortal Goku Black, his immortality was compromised.
  • Hour of Power: Unlike the anime where the fusion is permanent, the fusion of Black and Future Zamasu in the manga will only last one hour since neither of them are Supreme Kais. They stole the position when Black murdered Gowasu.
  • Hulking Out: During his fight with Vegito, he does this. And like Super Saiyan Third Grade, doing so gives him power, but costs him speed.
  • Humiliation Conga: While Goku Black and Future Zamasu are technically Karma Houdinis since they as individuals can never be punished for their crimes, Fused Zamasu more than makes up for their sins. First, despite all his power, he gets his face melted by Goku's Kamehameha, rapidly kicked in the face, and then have his halo broken by Goku's Kaioken. He then gets beating up by Vegito, a being born from the god's fusion, and he gets sliced in half from the groin up by Future Trunks, a mortal he failed to kill so many times. Even when he seems to get the last laugh by fusing with the multiverse and killing all the mortals in it, he gets one-shotted and rendered Deader than Dead by the real Top God Future Zeno, who utterly destroyed the paradise he spent years creating. To add another twist to the knife, he fails to kill the people he truly despised, Goku and Future Trunks.
  • Hypocrite:
    • Despite his disdain for mortals, one of the people he's comprised of was in a mortal body. He doesn't even deny it, in fact, he wanted this the whole time, as he considers it a Necessarily Evil so that he'll never forget the mistakes of the previous gods.
    • In the manga, he mocks Goku and Vegeta for being arrogant when they fought his components. You know, the same Goku Black and Future Zamasu who were both Smug Supers and Smug Snakes. Not to mention he has an ego bigger than both of them combined (despite actually being both of them combined).
  • Hypocrisy Nod: He's well aware that one of his fusees, Goku Black, was in the body of Goku, a mortal; he states outright to Vegito that he deliberately did so because in his view, Goku is everything selfish and evil about mortals, and he took Goku's body so he'd never forget the gods' mistakes and failures.
Zamasu: You mortals are all alike, led astray by your ignorance. You think that's a revelation, that Goku's body will always be a part of me? Of course he will, such was my desire! You are mortals, Saiyans, yet you've gained divine power. You're stronger than most deities now. Thus those who created this cosmos have made something they could not control. And if one can't control a world, one can't be called a god of it, making Saiyans the ultimate symbol of the failure of the Kais. And so, by incorporating Goku's flesh into my being, I have assumed both the sins of mortal kind and the failure of divinity so they may never be repeated. That is the duty of a true god.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Fused Zamasu is a sociopathic, green-skinned, insanely powerful divine fusion capable of easily destroying the world around him, and probably even the universe, with little effort. His very nature is oxymoronic as he’s both immortal and mortal at the same time. It only gets worse when he mutates, transforming half his body into purple goo-like stuff, and growing more and more ferocious as he starts losing what remained of his already tenuous sanity, and when he’s finally struck down, his liberated soul infects the entire future timeline and tries to rip into the present one like a cancer upon reality.
    • In the manga, he starts to take on traits of this when his fusion begins to malfunction and Future Trunks splits him in half, gaining the ability to unnaturally shapeshift into Goku Black and Future Zamasu-lookalikes as well as multiply if they are hurt.
  • I Am Legion: Inverted. In the manga, all of the hundreds of Zamasu clones exclusively refer to themselves in the singular; e.g. "I have a time machine", not "we have a time machine." They also finish each other's sentences. The implication seems to be that they're still acting in unison as part of one will.
  • Icy Gray Eyes: Possesses distinct gray eyes just like his components, and like them is also a cold, ruthless being whose strong will motivates him to place his "ideas above the people" to the point he wants to kill all the people so that his ideas can come true. And he possesses more than enough unstoppable power to make it happen. Later one of his eyes mutates and becomes purple as a result of his Villainous Breakdown.
  • Implacable Man: A trait he inherits from Goku Black and made moreso by Future Zamasu's Complete Immortality. He gets his attacks thrown back at him, his face nastily disfigured and has his Holy Halo broken by a Kaioken-powered Goku, and all that does is piss him off, he's savagely beaten and has a Final Kamehameha blasted at him by Vegito and he shrugs it off and comes back for more, and then he's carved in half and his body destroyed by Future Trunks before coming back from that as an Eldritch Abomination that requires the whole timeline being destroyed to make sure he dies for good.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: While his components loved doing this, he ends up on the receiving end. Vegito impales him through the chest on his Spirit Sword, which while it doesn't stick definitely hurt. Future Trunks does the same thing after absorbing the energy of all surviving life on the planet and making a Laser Blade out of it, and unlike Vegito's, the wound doesn't just instantly seal back up.
  • Infinite: The form he takes upon after is called "Infinite Zamasu", and seeing how it's basically a massive amalgamation of seemingly endless Zamasu faces whose sole goal is to assimilate the entire multiverse and can break across timelines... In the manga, Infinite Zamasu is an army composed of an infinite number of Fused Zamasu clones.
  • In Their Own Image: What his plan amounts to. He states his new world will be "born of divinity, by divinity," and since his components personally wiped out all of the other gods, he basically means his world will be "born of me, by me". The manga version of Fused Zamasu takes it even further when he decides to drop the "justice" angle completely, outright declaring he will destroy every being across every timeline, god and mortal alike, who isn't a version of himself.
  • It Can Think: In Xenoverse 2, his Eldritch Abomination form is actually sentient and intelligent enough to speak despite being a complete balls-to-the-wall nutcase by this stage, as Chronoa and the Time Patrollers find out the hard way as he attempts to assault the Time Nest. Luckily for the Time Patrollers, his defeat is part of history, and is obliterated by Zeno before he could do anything.
Infinite Zamasu: Spying from behind the curtain, were you? Did you enjoy the show? Do you think yourselves above the Gods?
  • It's All About Me: To an even greater degree than his components. While he still cares about nothing but what he thinks is justice, he takes it a step forwards by declaring himself 'the brightly glowing sun in the sky which illuminates this world' and that his new world will be 'born of divinity, by divinity' (note, when saying this he's the only god left, so it basically translates to 'born of Zamasu, by Zamasu'), making it clear he views the entire multiverse as existing solely for himself. And his manga counterpart is even worse with quotes like this:
Fused Zamasu: The gods of millions of planets scattered across the universe, Lord of worlds in all four directions, Supreme Kais in all 12 universes, and the Gods of Destruction, they are all unnecessary! Every single intelligent life that isn't myself shall be terminated!
    • Future Trunks even calls him out on being nothing but a selfish bastard before attacking him with the Spirit Bomb Sword:
Trunks: It's not about gods and mortals! You don't believe in anything but yourself, AND WE WON'T LET YOU WIN!
  • Jerkass Gods: Just like his components, he cares for nothing and no one but himself and is an Omnicidal Maniac. His manga counterpart take this to new levels when he declares that he will destroy everything that isn't him.
  • Just Toying with Them: It quickly becomes abundantly clear that he's not even trying during his fight with Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks. He still has them completely outmatched. It takes Vegito to pose anything resembling a threat.
  • Karmic Death: He's ultimately done in physically by Future Trunks using all the energy of what's left of humanity, which he's been ruthlessly hunting down to extinction, to craft a Spirit Bomb-infused Laser Blade which he uses to promptly skewer and bifurcate him. And for added karma, when he returns as an Eldritch Abomination and assimilates the timeline's multiverse, Future Zeno appears to aid the heroes and give a fatal reminder to Fusion Zamasu on what the difference between an actual Top God and a narcissistic lunatic truly is.
    • What makes this triply sweet is that what Trunks did to him was one of Present Zamasu's establishing actions, slicing a Babarian in half with his hand blade. Trunks is unknowingly throwing it back in his face.
  • Kneel Before Zod: In the manga, he tries to get Goku and Vegeta to kneel before him as a god and beg for their lives. Both of them basically tells Fusion Zamasu to screw himself. Subverted in the anime, where they tauntingly accuse him of trying to make them kneel before him while he screams in response that he just needs them dead.
  • Knight of Cerebus: His transformation as Infinite Zamasu. Not only is he the most monstrously powerful enemy our heroes have faced (whose powers are totally useless to defeat him), he is also responsible for some of the darkest minutes the franchise has given us.
  • Knight Templar: Just like Goku Black and Future Zamasu, he believes that he's creating a paradise by wiping out the mortals who disrespects the gods. However, it's clear after all his A God Am I speeches that this is all a thinly veiled excuse to remake the multiverse in his image and rule as the sole supreme god.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • He is done in because Goku Black wasn't immortal when Future Zamasu and he fused, which compromised his immortality. He's still extremely tough, but his healing factor is flawed to the point that enough power can destroy his body. The karma comes in that Zamasu went through a lot of trouble to take Goku's body and became so obsessed with growing stronger that he didn't desire immortality unlike Future Zamasu. A trait he inherited from Goku.
    • Another example is that he and his components have put their signature energy blade to good use harming others, with Zamasu's Start of Darkness being bisecting an alien with it. First Vegito impales him on his Spirit Sword, then Trunks uses a ki blade of his own (drawing power from all surviving life on the planet) to land the finishing blow on him, bisecting him just like Zamasu did his first victim. There is also the fact that Trunks lands the finishing blow on his physical body considering all the crap he put him through. And his final death is him being erased by Future Zeno, the real Top God of the multiverse, after Fused Zamasu proclaimed himself as the supreme god.
    • In the manga, while Fused Zamasu's immortality is left intact, his fusion will only last an hour since he isn't a true Supreme Kai. He usurp the position when he killed Gowasu, something Vegito rubs his face in.
  • Laughing Mad:
    • After his physical body is destroyed, he is reduced to laughing insanely as his body turns to energy and he becomes a world spanning Eldritch Abomination. After that, his dialog is basically reduced to mindless, insane laughter.
    • His manga counterpart was this without losing his body. After he declares that he will destroy everything that isn't himself, he shoots energy blasts into the air and gives a crazed laugh as he plummets Goku and Vegeta.
  • Light Is Not Good: Despite the black clothing, the aura that appeared after he fuses is a bright heavenly one, as well as manifesting a bright halo behind him. He also keeps comparing himself to the light, declaring he would show the power of his divine light, and how he was the sun shining. One of the attacks he uses is a bright light that starts to destroy everything in its path, similar to Kefka's Light of Judgement.
Fused Zamasu: Harken unto me! I am the brightly glowing sun in the sky which illuminates this world, and all shall soon know that my brilliance is justice. I, the god Zamasu, am the universal wisdom, the universal law, and yes, the universal power! All those who my light shines upon shall be obliterated!
  • Literal Metaphor: He stays high in the sky during battle just so he can literally look down on everyone.
  • Logic Bomb: After being hit by Goku's Kamehameha, it's implied this was why he began breaking down and mutating. The Potara Fusion has no idea how to make a being that is comprised of a Complete Immortality Kai, and a being with the soul of the same Kai, but in a mortal body. Thus while Fused Zamasu is immortal and heals from his wounds, he starts to horribly break down after taking enough damage since half his body is mortal, while the other half is immortal.
  • Lovecraftian Superpower: His mutant form, which basically turns his entire right half into a horribly deformed, melted mass. His final form is a universe spanning Eldritch Abomination capable of breaking down the barriers between timelines.
  • Mad Eye: As his fight with Vegito drags on, his right eye, which has already been mutated thanks to his incomplete immortality, starts to look more and more deranged.
  • Mad God: Fused Zamasu's both components are Kai, a race known as the Gods of Creation in the Dragon Ball universe, and like his fusees, he is dangerously Ax-Crazy. His Eldritch Abomination final form, Infinite Zamasu however, plays this straight even moreso as his power has now reached universe-ending levels, and he's lost his mind so badly by this stage that outside of a desire to kill everything, there's barely, if any semblance of a person in there anymore.
  • Mask of Sanity: When he's born, he's quite calm and stoic despite having a super-sized ego that can fill the universe. As the battle goes on and the heroes begin to actually damage him, it's revealed that he isn't just insane, he's mentally and emotionally unstable.
  • Meaningless Villain Victory: He manages to wipe out humanity and all mortal life in Trunks' timeline due to merging with the multiverse, which technically makes him one of the few villains in Dragon Ball to actually succeed in his goal. But, his victory is immediately undone thanks to Goku being friends with Zeno, gaining the button given to him by his present day counterpart and able to call said Top God who erased him from existence. What's more, in the end, he was unable to kill his most hated enemies and, with the knowledge of what happened, Whis makes sure Zamasu's future self is stopped before he can enact his plans while Future Trunks and Mai live happily in a Close-Enough Timeline. Ultimately in the end, Zamasu's plans amounted to nothing. Even worse, the Tournament of Power arc reveals that Zen'o believes in mortals' capacity for goodness and is actually pissed off by low mortal levels, selfish myopia, and wanton destruction without regrowth potential no matter how they're rationalized, so even if he had succeeded in his goals he would've been erased all the same eventually.
  • Me's a Crowd: In Chapter 25 of the Super manga, Fusion Zamasu learns that a new Fused Zamasu will regenerate out of his severed or blown up flesh. He take advantage of this to create multiple copies of himself.
  • Mighty Glacier: During the fight against Vegito, Zamasu bulks himself up even further to giant size which drastically increases his durability to the point that he could easily tank a full power Final Kamehameha from Vegito Blue. However, like most other bulk ups, he becomes much slower to the point that Vegito managed to get the upper hand against him and allowed Future Trunks to dodge his attacks and ultimately cut him down with his immense power.
  • Minor Injury Overreaction: Vegeta and Future Trunks manage to reflect his Sphere of Destruction back at him. Even though he's completely unhurt thanks to his Complete Immortality, he completely flips out and decides to murder Goku, Vegeta and Future Trunks just because things aren't going his way.
  • Mirror Character: As the fight goes on; his deteriorating mental state, increased size and bulk, deformed body, and increasingly brutish fighting style renders him barely distinguishable from the Babarian natives that he had hated so much. He's even given similar towering camera shots as the Babarian Zamasu bisected when fighting Trunks right before being bisected just like he did to his first victim.
  • Mood-Swinger: A trait he inherited from Goku Black, although worse as he seems to continuously cycle between his usual calm attitude to Ax-Crazy, the latter part especially after Future Trunks and Vegeta toss one of his energy balls back at him. As the battle wears on and he still fails to kill his enemies, the entity starts losing more and more of his calmness until he’s switching from Unstoppable Rage and Tranquil Fury non-stop, and ultimately degenerates into screaming all his lines.
  • Morphic Resonance: Has Zamasu' green skin but many of Goku's facial features. He also has Zamasu's hair color in the same style as Goku Black's Super Saiyan Rose form, with a large lock of it over his face like Zamasu's.
  • Motive Decay: Not so much in the anime where he still thinks he's the good guy saving the multiverse from mortals and repenting for the gods' mistake. In the manga, however he doesn't care anymore about killing mortals for the good of the multiverse. He just wants to be the supreme ruler of everything and wipe out anything that isn't himself. By the end, he's willing to destroy the galaxy to be rid of Goku and the others.
  • Motive Rant: If he isn't talking about how great he is, he's ranting about why mortals need to die and create his 'perfect' world. He puts even Future Zamasu to shame. Needless to say, Vegito gets tired of hearing it very quickly.
  • Multiple Head Case: His final form is basically millions of heads filling the sky and universe. Each head seems capable of expression and firing a Mouth Beam.
  • Mystical White Hair: Retains Zamasu's white hair and is a Physical God of the highest caliber.
  • Moral Myopia: Before being shut down by Vegito's fist, he gives a long monologue on how something done by the gods is good and beautiful, but when done by mortals it's evil and ugly. Considering he is the only god left, he is talking about himself.
Fused Zamasu: Potara earrings? Does the mimicry have no end? You pathetic mortals always try to emulate the divine. Now, why is that? Is it because we gods are so wondrous? Are you coveting our undeniable beauty? I understand, yet it's so tragic. Your mimicry is doomed to fail! Acts of gods are beautiful because we are inherently pure, while mortal endeavors will inevitably become wicked—corrupted and marred by sin!

    N-S
  • Narcissist: He's the living embodiment of this trope, being the fusion of two versions of the same person, doubling Zamasu's ego.
  • Necessarily Evil: How he views taking Goku's body as his vessel. He sees Goku as everything that is wrong with mortals and takes his body so he can carry the sins of the mortals and the failure of the gods.
  • Nightmare Face: As his Sanity Slippage starts coming in full force, plus the Facial Horror caused by Goku's flinging his Holy Wrath back at him, he becomes an avid practitioner of these. It gets even worse when he turns into an Eldritch Abomination, as the only thing recognisable about Zamasu at this point is his face, possessing Glowing Eyes of Doom, a Throat Light, with the only expression being a perpetual Slasher Smile of utter madness.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: Inherited Future Zamasu's Complete Immortality. Keyword is nigh. Goku Black's mortal half lowered him from 'completely invincible' to simply 'insanely hard to actually hurt'. His final Eldritch Abomination form however is so powerful that it required the now-corrupted timeline to be destroyed by Zeno to kill him.
  • Non-Human Humanoid Hybrid: Half-Saiyan and Half-Kai.
  • Not Quite Dead: After being split in half by Future Trunks, it's revealed that only his physical body was destroyed since he is immortal and Goku Black's lack of immortality compromised Fusion Zamasu's Healing Factor. He actually becomes more powerful after losing his body since he can merge with the multiverse itself.
  • Not So Invincible After All: He initially appears to be unstoppable, shrugging off everything Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks throw at him... and then Goku manages to reflect his Sphere of Destruction attack back at him, which reduces the entire right side of his face to purple goo. As it turns out, Future Zamasu's Complete Immortality has been compromised by his fusing with the mortal Goku Black; thus, he's no longer completely immortal and can be killed.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: He constantly claims his actions are justice and he's doing what's necessary to fix the gods' mistakes, but it falls flat because his components personally slaughtered all of the other gods to prevent them from interfering. He claims his new world will be "born of divinity, by divinity," and since he's the only god left, it basically translates to his new world being born of him, by him.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Has one when Vegeta and Future Trunks sends his sphere of destruction back at him not long after he goes on his A God Am I speech. It's the first indication that his newfound power came at a price.
    • He gets a second one when Goku penetrates his Kamehameha wave straight through his Holy Wrath and blasts him full-force.
    • He gets a third one when Vegito enters the fight, goes Blue, and stops one of his attacks with one hand.
    • Fourth one comes when Future Trunks confronts him and gains a new power he isn't familiar with. When Future Trunks impales him, he realizes that it much more stronger then his own power and that he's actually going to be defeated by it.
    • Has a final one when Zeno is about to wipe out the future timeline, and him along with it. The manga equivalent has him and thousand other clones immediately ran away just from seeing Zeno appear.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Like his components, he desires to essentially kill everyone that's not him to achieve his version of paradise. After the death of his physical body at the hands of Future Trunks, he's reduced to a Laughing Mad Eldritch Abomination raining down death and destruction on everything in sight. This is actually worse in the manga, where Future Zamasu was looking at the other timelines to kill everyone, past, present, and future. After fusing, his power was so great he started to proclaim death to everyone.
Manga, chapter 23: The gods of millions of planets scattered across the universe, Lord of worlds in all four directions, Supreme Kais in all 12 universes, and the Gods of Destruction, they are all unnecessary! Every single intelligent life that isn't myself shall be terminated!
  • One-Winged Angel:
    • He's basically the final form of Zamasu instead of a true fusion, since both of his components are just alternate versions of the same person.
    • The anime adds a transformation on top: after Goku deforms half his face and hits him with a Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken powered assault, he proceeds to mutate horrifically due to his incomplete Healing Factor going out of control and his own inner evil becoming manifest through the mutation, greatly increasing his power.
    • After his physical body is destroyed, what's left becomes a multiverse spanning Eldritch Abomination capable of breaking into other timelines.
  • Out-of-Genre Experience: He manages be this since while Goku Black and Future Zamasu were godly beings, they were still both trained martial artists and fought like one. Fusion Zamasu on the other hands fights like a RPG final boss with him summoning a Guardian Entity that shoots lightning, raining down energy blasts, and throwing spears that explodes when they hit the ground. This is not even getting into his final form that is straight out of a Cosmic Horror Story.
  • Outside-Context Problem: His final form is this, as not only did anyone expect it, no one knows how to fight him. While Buu was an Eldritch Abomination, Fused Zamasu's final form is a Lovecraftian monstrosity that becomes the multiverse to the point he begins breaking through into other timelines. At least Buu could be fought, Zamasu at this point can't. After all, how do you fight the multiverse itself?
  • Oxymoronic Being: In two ways:
    • He's a fusion, that much is true. But the weird thing is that he's basically the fusion of the exact same being, as Goku Black is really just Zamasu in Goku's body. This may be why rather than having a dual voice that combines Goku Black and Zamasu's voice actors, his is simply Zamasu's voice with an echo added .
    • He's essentially an immortal who is partially mortal. It's for this reason that his immortality winds up being compromised, and makes him capable of being damaged.
  • Permafusion: Because of the way potara fusion has been reworked in this series, Fusion Zamasu is a true permanent fusion, as Zamasu, one of his components, is a Kai, one of the components required to make the fusion permanent. This becomes more pronounced during the climax, as his contradictory nature weakens him and causes him to assume a mutated form, before being cleaved in half by Trunks causes him to turn into Infinite Zamasu; becoming the sky itself in the anime, and regenerating endless into an army of clones in the manga.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: He's so powerful that when he casually releases a cloud of destructive energy, he causes Hurricane-scale storms, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions across the entire planet. His Eldritch Abomination form is worse, as he literally carpet-bombs the entire planet clean of life, before spreading to encompass the Multiverse.
  • Pet the Dog: Surprisingly, he has one during his fight with Vegito. He takes the time to reflect on his goals and feel a pang of regret over the amount of destruction he caused. Sadly, he feels he must continue in spite of it.
  • Physical God: Is one by default due to being born from one, and another in a mortal shell.
  • Power Echoes: Fused Zamasu is a weird case when it comes to fusions. Rather than having a dual voice that combines Goku Black and Future Zamasu's voice actors, or only giving him the voice of Future Zamasu (Like with Kibito Kai and Old Kai), he simply has an echo added to Zamasu's voice. Most likely is because he's basically the fusion of the exact same being, as Goku Black is really just Zamasu in Goku's body.
  • Power High: He spends several minutes reveling in his own power and calling himself the god of the multiverse.
  • The Power of Hate: Gowasu refers to his horrifically mutated final form as being a 'body of hatred and rage', due to it more or less being a physical manifestation of his twisted, evil nature. In the end, his hatred becomes so great it turns him into a multiverse-ending Eldritch Abomination!
  • Power-Upgrading Deformation: His mutated form is definitely stronger, but its also pure Body Horror. Taken further when Trunks destroys his physical body, causing him to become a giant sentient cloud of destruction.
  • Pride Before a Fall: He is the combination of Goku Black's endless power and Future Zamasu's immortality, making him the most powerful villain in the series save for maybe Beerus. At the height of his power, he grinds Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks into the ground without trying. However, his great power went to his head and he keeps torturing the heroes instead of killing them. This causes him to become disfigured by Goku's Kamehameha and his body slowly rotting since he's only half immortal thanks to Goku Black. By the time Future Trunks slices him half, he's a sludge monster. His final fall comes in when the true god of the multiverse, Future Zeno, appears and wastes him with no effort.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: He spends a great deal of time after his fusion treating Goku and Vegeta like they're nothing more than toys he can break at his leisure. His Villainous Breakdown is pretty much the markings of a Spoiled Brat that didn't get his way. In the manga he tries to blow the whole galaxy to oblivion in a temper tantrum because Goku was kicking his ass.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: He technically got all he wanted when his bodiless form successfully killed all the mortals from the timeline. Unfortunately, since he has lost his sanity, he will never be able to enjoy his own paradise. His victory is also quickly undone when Future Zeno wiped him out from existence, unable to murder the characters that caused him the most grief, especially Goku.
  • Rage Quit: In the manga, after getting tired of fighting mastered Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Fused Zamasu decides to just destroy not only the Earth, but the entire galaxy. His fusion partly broke before he could do it.
  • Rasputinian Death: Gets half his face melted off by Goku's God Kamehameha, slammed into the ground with enough force to shatter his ring of light, hits himself with his Light of Justice to mutate himself further into monstrous form, suffers severe damage from Vegito including being impaled and hit with a Final Kamehameha, is impaled by Future Trunk's Laser Blade, and finally vertically bisected by Future Trunks using the combined power of everyone still alive on Earth. All of that only succeeds in destroying his physical form, at which point he becomes a reality spanning Eldritch Abomination and requires Future Zeno himself to let loose a multiverse buster to finally put him down for good.
  • Readings Are Off the Scale: According to Gowasu and Shin, the fusion didn't merely combine Goku Black and Future Zamasu's power; it expanded it to no end.
  • Reality Is Out to Lunch: The apparent paradox of a half-immortal god being murdered causes all of reality to freak out, allowing Zamasu's immortal soul to infect the entire timeline, warping the landscape into a hellish wasteland with images of Zamasu's smiling face repeated infinitely in the skies.
    • The manga presents more subtle, In-Universe Fridge Logic invoked as to how Fused Zamasu interacts with the magical rules of the Potara. On top of being a fusion of two alternate versions of the same being which breaks all divine laws of nature, one half of Fused Zamasu is immortal while the other half is in possession of an alien mortal body. In the manga, Zamasu is not considered a full-fledged Supreme Kai so the fusion timer does run out, but horrifically, Black and Zamasu remain welded together in the same body. Upon being seemingly killed by Trunks, the combination of Fused Zamasu being unable to defuse and the paradox of his immortal half refusing to die cause the Potara to completely bug out, creating infinite clones of Fused Zamasu.
  • Reality Warper: Much like Janemba, he can create warps in space to punch or kick someone from the distance in the manga. Just before his permanent death, he became reality.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: He continues to torment Trunks over his mortal weakness, just for Trunks to shut him up.
Fused Zamasu: Tell me: how will you escape my justice next? Will you run to the past, begging help from the rest of your pathetic mortal herd? Or this time will you try the future? How will you compensate for your weakness now!?
Future Trunks: Compared to gods, then of course we're weak. But you can never make me ashamed of that. Because when mortals do join forces, that's when we can do anything! Because believing in our fellow men and helping each other to survive? That's what redeems us! That's what makes us who we are, makes us worthy! That's what gives us our real power!
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: His outfit inherits the color scheme of Goku Black's with added red highlights.
  • Red Right Hand: After he mutates, the entire right half of his body horrifically mutates into a purple, melted abomination with an arm as long as his body.
  • Ret-Gone: After Future Zeno erases Fused Zamasu from existence, Whis travels to the future before Future Beerus dies and warns him of the Zamasus scheme. As a result, a new timeline where Future Beerus preemptively deals with Future Zamasu is created and as a result, Fusion Zamasu never exists.
  • Sadist: While he enjoys toying with Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks in the anime, he is downright brutal in the manga. Once he has Goku and Vegeta at his mercy after they defused, he slowly beats them up and mocks them. He personally sits on Vegeta's chest and plummets him until he loses consciousness.
  • Sanity Slippage: The longer the Final Battle goes on, the more and more insane he becomes until his default expressions are a completely unhinged Slasher Smile or screaming in psychopathic fury. And when his physical body is destroyed and he becomes a universe-spanning Eldritch Abomination, this goes even further. Any trace of the dignified and poised Kai is completely gone, replaced by a Laughing Mad monster whose only thought is to destroy everything in sight.
  • Satanic Archetype: His components were already this, but he takes it even further by even invoking the whole 'angel of light' motif, having an aura of heavenly light, and a Holy Halo. His claim that he's a Top God solidifies it and his mutated form makes him look completely demonic. Furthermore, like Old Scratch, the moment he goes up against the true God of the setting, he doesn't stand a chance.
  • Say My Name: After Goku disfigures him and destroys his halo, he responds by screaming his name into the sky before going completely and utterly berserk. Later he starts doing this with Future Trunks, accusing him of always getting in his way.
  • Semi-Divine: What he technically is since Goku Black is one of his fusees. He is a god stuck in a mortal shell. This backfires a bit when it turns out that mortal half made his regeneration imperfect. His Body Horror transformation owes to that.
  • Sore Loser: A trait carried on from both Zamasus. When Vegito begins get the advantage during their battle, he becomes more frenzied. He also views Goku as his Satanic Archetype when it's clear that the only real reason why he views Goku as such is because he's still sore over being handed his ass the first time he met him.
  • Shadow Archetype: By virtue of being an Potara Fusion, he's this to Vegito, showing what would happen if he didn't have any sense of morality that tempers his MASSIVE power and arrogance. This is most evident in their fight, with Fused Zamasu showing himself to the first being in the entire franchise to actually match Vegito in terms of both strength AND ego.
  • Shapeshifter Mode Lock: Due to Goku Black having been in Super Saiyan Rose when they fused, Fused Zamasu is permanently in his Super Saiyan form, just like Old Kai warned would happen if Goku was Super Saiyan when he fused with the Potaras. Of course unlike in that case, Fusion Zamasu is immortal and thus doesn't have to worry about the negative consequences of it.
  • Shock and Awe: Can fire purple lightning from the ring of light on his back or from his Guardian Entity, the Wall of Light.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: By the time Vegito enters the fray, he's long gotten sick of Zamasu's spiel and opens his attack by punching him right in the face.
  • Slasher Smile: Sports one after he forms his Holy Halo. After mutating, this becomes one of his default expressions.
  • Smug Super: He is undoubtedly immensely powerful, and manages to have a more gigantic ego than his components combined.
  • Sphere of Destruction: Has one called Holy Wrath which highly resembles Frieza's Supernova attack.
  • The Sociopath: Just like his components, he has many of the same sociopathic tendencies. He has a huge sense of self to the point that he views himself as the sun and the moon of the multiverse, has no empathy for others and is utterly selfish, and his poor impulse control is also considerably more pronounced, to the point of causing planet wide disasters just to show off.
  • Super Mode: Due to Black being in Super Saiyan Rose when he was formed, he's mode locked into Super Saiyan, as Old Kai had warned Goku would happen. Unfortunately, unlike in that case, Fusion Zamasu is immortal, so the negative effects of that naturally don't matter...at first. Gowasu reveals that because Future Zamasu and Goku Black were two very different beings in terms of power and spirit, the fused being's right side starts mutating out of control and he "loses" his immortality and resistance to pain.
  • Super-Speed: A standard Dragon Ball power, but the manga version of Fused Zamasu is notable in his use of it. He hits SSB Goku and Vegeta so fast that they don't even realize he moved before they're both on the ground clenching their guts. He later says that "it as if [they're] not even moving" compared to him. It's implied that this is the reason that only Goku could go toe to toe with him at the end, by Vegeta's own admission, despite both of them having methods of losing SSB's stamina drain problem that rendered Fused Zamasu so superior to them in raw strength. While Vegeta's technique of quickly switching between SSG (for general movements) and SSB (right before attacks) granted him the offensive power of a Completed Super Saiyan Blue (and thus, rivaling Fused Zamasu), he still wasn't anywhere near as fast as a full-power Super Saiyan Blue, and thus he still wouldn't be able to touch Zamasu. CSSB Goku, on the other hand, has the speed and power of a full-power SSB as a CSSB, so he can hold his own against Zamasu.
  • Superpower Meltdown: Due to Goku Black being mortal and Zamasu being immortal, his fusion is incredibly unstable. As a result, his Healing Factor is imperfect and instead of healing properly, his right side begins to mutate horrifically as it goes out of control, leaving half his body a hideously deformed monstrosity. It doesn't help that he completely snaps and loses his sanity to the point he doesn't seem to notice.
  • Story-Breaker Power: In different ways, depending on the version. In both however, Future Zeno, Story-Breaker Power personified, has to destroy the timeline's multiverse itself to finally kill him.
    • In the manga, he is an immortal, just like Future Zamasu, so he will never die, take a permanent wound, or run out of energy no matter how powerful his opponent is. This is on top of having Future Zamasu and Goku Black's vast power and moveset, and potential for growth. Future Zamasu being so much weaker than Black means that his Potara fusion's boost was tiny compared to Vegito's, but it still gives him a default power easily surpassing a Super Saiyan Blue (though not by multi-folds). The real kicker is that his version of immortality is even worse than Future Zamasu's, since instead of just healing instantly whenever he's wounded, he'll duplicate himself (which he later learns to do at will). Each of his clones is just as powerful as the original. Within a few minutes there are already over a hundred Fused Zamasus.
    • In the anime, since Future Zamasu is a lot stronger (SSB level), Fused Zamasu benefits proportionately and becomes insanely powerful. It says a lot that Goku and Vegeta have to fuse into Super Saiyan Blue Vegito to fight him, and even with their combined power they can only break even with Zamasu before the fusion fails (as opposed to the manga, where it was implied that even base form Vegito could rival Zamasu and SSB was total overkill). Super's producer even calls him a cheat character even by Dragon Ball standards. However, unlike the manga, since he merged with Goku Black, who wasn't an immortal, he has incomplete regeneration, allowing Future Trunks to split him in half. Which only ends up making him stronger since he merges with the universe and becomes a near unstoppable force that wipes out almost all life across the multiverse.
  • Superpower Lottery: He has the strength and abilities of Goku Black, and the immortal body of Future Zamasu on top of being a Potara Fusion, the most powerful type of fusion in the series. He has a Ring of Light that can perform a variety of attacks such as lightning bolts and a Flechette Storm and can summon a Guardian Entity called the Wall of Light that can fight on his behalf that makes it impossible for Goku and Vegeta to even get near him.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Despite all the evil he has done and all the lives he has ruined, Gowasu still shows sympathy towards his former student and the monster he has become. He even calls Fusion Zamasu's mutated form a reflection of his own conflict with mortals.
Gowasu: Twisting into something hideous...it's the physical embodiment of what he feels within. He is obsessed, fixated on the contradictions of gods and mortals. If mortals have capacity for wisdom, why do they so often fail? If gods see their actions as wicked, why do they tolerate and forgive? How can gods and mortals seem so different, yet so alike? What is the point of it all? Zamasu seeks beauty, yet look at his body, distorted by hatred and rage. I wonder... is that really the result that he craved? A broken, misshapen god alone in a vacant cosmos? How fulfilled will he be then?

    T-Y
  • Tautological Templar: Just like Future Zamasu and Goku Black, he believes that he's righteous and everything he does is justice by the gods. This is despite him committing mass-murdering, ruining the planet he's trying to 'save', and killing all the other gods except himself. Basically, he's a making a perfect multiverse, just for him.
  • Tempting Fate: Spends most of his existence declaring himself the Top God of all creation. The moment the actual Top God sees what he's done, Zamasu is Deader than Dead with no effort at all.
  • Tender Tears: He sheds these during the final battle as he relates that his actions are done for the sake of a better world and universe. This may be a tragic display of his original good intentions and subsequent descent into hypocritical insanity.
    Vegito: Are you seriously crying?!
Fusion Zamasu: I am, and proudly so! My tears shall sanctify this blighted world!
  • This Cannot Be!: His reaction to Future Trunks using the power of all remaining life on Earth to bisect him vertically. He even says it should be impossible.
Fusion Zamasu: But I don't understand how it could be this strong! It feels chaotic; so many different energies melded together!
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Upon fusing, the narcissism of both Future Zamasu and Goku Black were combined and doubled, so he lost much of the pragmatic traits that make either Black or Zamasu dangerous; rather than finishing the Z-Fighters off at the first opportunity, he chose to toy around with them and tended to use his techniques just to show off. He also kept underestimating his enemies and seemingly cannot accept that the "lowly mortals" somehow managed to even scratch him. Like Future Zamasu, he also tended to go on a Motive Rant in the middle of a battle which left him wide open. If he had more of Black's personality aside from his mood swings, there's no denying that he would have easily won as he would have just blasted them away at the first opportunity. Instead his arrogance ended up allowing the Z-Fighters to ultimately destroy his body. This goes even further when he turns into an Eldritch Abomination, as his madness has now consumed his mind completely.
  • Too Powerful to Live: Even by Dragon Ball standards, where villains getting killed is the typical outcome. But for Zamasu, even if it were possible, simply sending him to the afterlife would not have been enough. He had to be erased from existence entirely to ensure his threat was neutralized for good.
  • Top God: He declares himself to be the supreme god of the multiverse upon his birth and proves his superiority by easily stomping Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks. He becomes even more powerful after losing his physical body and merging with the universe, wiping almost all life in just a few minutes. He learns the hard way that he isn't, as he then meets Future Zeno, the true Top God of the multiverse. To call this a Curb-Stomp Battle would suggest that Fusion Zamasu had even a slight chance at winning.
  • Two-Faced: His mutated form in the anime, in which the right side of his body becomes pure Body Horror.
  • Ultimate Lifeform: He sees himself as the supreme god of the multiverse since he possesses both Complete Immortality from Future Zamasu and Black's constantly growing power, on top of being immensely strong to begin with. It's heavily implied that Fusion Zamasu was Black and Future Zamasu's end goal once Black manages to reach the pinnacle of his power. However, it turns out merging two separate beings that are both mortal and immortal was a really bad idea. Granted it did make him stronger, but his immortality was compromised in the process, making him vulnerable to attacks and throwing his regeneration completely out of whack.
  • Unstable Genetic Code: Due to one of his components being immortal and the other one mortal, his body is very unstable. Combined with his now imperfect immortality, the results aren't pretty.
  • Unstoppable Rage: It's painfully clear that he cannot handle his temper when his pride in himself being godlike is questioned, and it only gets worse as time goes on, culminating in him going utterly batshit when Goku disfigures his face and destroys his Holy Halo.
    • In the manga, he starts losing his temper when Goku uses his Completed Super Saiyan Blue form to fight him to a standstill, ultimately culminating in him bellowing about how he couldn't be defeated in an Ax-Crazy fury, pumping his body up with as much power as it can muster and then rushing Goku while screaming his head off, intending on ripping the Saiyan to pieces with his bare hands.
  • The Dark Side Will Make You Forget: In the manga, Zamasu's motives gradually degrade from bringing justice upon the universe to simply wanting infinite power. Fusion Zamasu has him completely discarding his Knight Templar elements.
  • The Usurper: Both his components were this trope due to stealing their Supreme Kai status by killing a version of their master Gowasu, something he continues on top of declaring himself the supreme god of the multiverse.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: With Dragon Ball Super being Lighter and Softer than the previous series, Infinite Zamasu is Nightmare Fuel personified and the closest Dragon Ball has ever been to a Cosmic Horror Story. Once he actually appears, the show's idealistic atmosphere is absolutely extinguished.
  • Villainous Breakdown: He does not take it well when Vegeta and Future Trunks throw his Sphere of Destruction back in his face, becoming a screaming, flailing mess and trying to kill Future Trunks and Goku in an Unstoppable Rage. After Goku melts the right side of his face off, he becomes increasingly more unstable as the fight progresses, eventually degenerating from his once-self-proclaimed "holy" demeanour to savagely fighting Vegito in a battle to the death. By the time Future Trunks cuts him down, he's so crazed that he's desperately flailing in an attempt to kill Future Trunks, as well as ranting about his frustration over Trunks somehow managing to survive every attempt he made upon his life. After his physical death and transformation into Infinite Zamasu, this goes into overdrive, and at the end of it the only thing remaining of Zamasu's mindset outside of a few scraps of personality was the desire to kill everything he saw, and when he saw Zeno poised to kill him, he could do nothing but scream in terror in his final moments.
  • Walking Spoiler: His very existence is a spoiler since Goku Black working with Future Zamasu is a plot twist along with both of them being Zamasu.
  • World-Wrecking Wave: Anime version after his physical demise, he becomes one that covers the Earth before seeping into the multiverse and attempting to invade the present timeline.
  • Was Once a Man: He was a Supreme Kai (or rather a Supreme Kai/Saiyan hybrid). By the end of the fight with him, he's become something unrecognizable to what he once was in both body and mind.
  • Wham Line: Xenoverse 2's adaptation of the battle with him at first seems like a routine mission of fixing the timeline... only for Fusion Zamasu to drop this bombshell:
Fusion Zamasu: (Evil Laugh) I know exactly who you are. I thought I had destroyed all the gods, but my work was incomplete. Tell your masters this: When I am finished here, you are next.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Inherits Zamasu's hair colors. As noted above, he's anything but holy.
  • Why Won't You Die?: Becomes increasingly frustrated that the heroes just won't die already. Particularly when Trunks re-enters the battle after Vegito defuses.
    • In the original Japanese:
      Fusion Zamasu: You again, Trunks?!
    • In the Latin American Spanish dub, his line is more direct.
Fusion Zamasu: Stop getting in the way, Trunks!
    • In the English dub, his voice actually cracks.
Fusion Zamasu: Back for more, Trunks, YET AGAIN?!
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Anime version: after Goku manages to melt half of Fusion Zamasu's face, he uses his Light of Justice to power himself up, mutating into a hideous monster and growing more mentally and emotionally unstable as the fight between him, Vegito, and Future Trunks wears on. It all comes to a head after Future Trunks cuts him in half and he becomes a disembodied Eldritch Abomination, where his power grows to universe-ending levels and he's reduced to a mindless, Laughing Mad engine of destruction.
  • You Are What You Hate:
    • He tells Vegito that the reason he took Goku's body was to carry the sins of the gods' failure onto himself since, according to him, Goku is everything that is wrong and evil about mortals.
    • Though the line above is not spoken there, Fused Zamasu's actions and general brutality share parallels to the very Babarians he despised in the manga, holding down and beating on the heroes the same way the Babarians brutalized each other. Even after the fusion malfunctions and he's split into two of himself, the way he gangs up on Goku is similar to the two Babarians seen at the start of the arc in the manga that were ganging up on another one.
