This covers the bosses you can fight against in the series.
Tropes applied to bosses in general:
- Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: The majority of the bosses only made one appearance in the series each. Only very few re-appear in later HTFA games.
- Collision Damage: If you can reach them, you might as well suffer from this.
- Universe: Super Mario Bros.
A group of young Koopas who are part of Bowser's army. In HTFA 1, only Iggy appears. In HTFA 2, only Ludwig appears. In HTFA 3, four out of seven (Larry, Morton, Wendy, Iggy) Koopalings appear. In HTFA 4, all seven appear. However, apart from that, they haven't made another appearance since.
- Boss Dissonance: For an example, Iggy is the first boss in HTFA 1, but the level he's in is rather difficult for such an early level (this is due to Fake Difficulty).
- Another example might be Lemmy in HTFA 4. He's located in a level with tricky platforming (it's the second level), but he's ridiculously easy to beat if you exploit the battle by standing on the higher ground he's standing on (it's wide enough for you to avoid collision damage). He's only a Goddamned Boss if you try to fight him the intended way.
- Child Soldiers
- Ground Pound: Utilized by Lemmy in HTFA 4 to unleash Lava Bubbles.
- Luck-Based Mission: Good luck trying to defeat Ludwig in HTFA 4 without losing a lot of lives. Or, if you want a Self-Imposed Challenge, try defeating him on the first try!
- Mook Maker: Roy can summon Skulls along with Lava Bubbles in HTFA 4.
- Non-Mammalian Hair: Only Roy and Wendy lack hair.
- Playing with Fire: Iggy's flame shot in HTFA 1, Ludwig's flame magic in HTFA 2, Lemmy's means of damaging the player in HTFA 4...
- Put on a Bus: Their last appearance was in HTFA 4.
- The Bus Came Back: RPG: The Fire Point called for their return, where only five of them reappear.
- Rotten Rock & Roll: Their Theme Naming is based on rock and punk musicians.
- Shock and Awe: In HTFA 4, Wendy is capable of summoning lightning bolts.
- Shout-Out Theme Naming: See Rotten Rock & Roll section. Though Morton is named after a talk show host, while Ludwig is named after a Classical Music composer.
- Sibling Team: They are siblings and a villainous team.
- Stationary Boss: Wendy in HTFA 4. She doesn't move, yet she fires orbs and summon lightning bolts that deal two points of damage.
- Lemmy too in the same game, as aside from stomping the ground, he doesn't actually move away from his spot.
- Tremor Trampoline: Lemmy in HTFA 4 does this, but the player character isn't affected. It affects the Lava Bubbles in the lava, causing them to bounce up high when Lemmy ground pounds.
- The Voiceless: So far in this fan-made series, none of them have spoken (or, heck, made any noises at all) in any of the games.
- Universe: Super Mario Bros.
A huge mouse whose only means of attacking involve throwing bombs. Only appears in HTFA 1.
- Mad Bomber: He throws bombs as an attack.
- Rodents of Unusual Size: Even bigger than the Happy Tree Friends!
- Sinister Shades: Mouser wears them.
- Stuff Blowing Up: His bombs.
- Universe: Contra
A monstrous creature from the Contra universe. In HTFA 1, he guards Bowser's spaceship by blocking the entry, so you have to destroy him in order to keep going.
- Breath Weapon: How he attacks.
- Playing with Fire: His only means of attacking.
- Soundtrack Dissonance: The rather upbeat music used for Iggy's and Mouser's boss battle is also used for this fight, which contrasts his rather terrifying appearance.
- The boss fight is just as ridiculously easy as most other boss battles in HTFA 1. The music is there probably for mocking this fact.
- Spread Shot: Shoots fireballs into three directions. Good thing you can simply hide behind the wall to avoid the lower ones.
- Stationary Boss
- Universe: Wai Wai World
A three-headed alien life form from Wai Wai World. It appears as a boss guarding the goal poles in the penultimate level of HTFA 1. A single (seemingly) surviving head also appears in HTFA 2 as Bowser's pet.
- Adaptational Wimp: In HTFA 1, its only means of attacking is limited to simply shooting flames. It's pretty much just an even plainer Damage-Sponge Boss.
- Breath Weapon: How it attacks.
- Damage-Sponge Boss: Especially without a visible life bar unlike other bosses.
- Multiple Head Case: A three-headed alien creature.
- Playing with Fire: Shoots flame as its attack. Only its middle head does this, though.
- Stationary Boss: In HTFA 1.
- Universe: Mega Man
Malfunctioned Reploids that work for Bowser in the series. The first Maverick to appear in the series is Wheel Gator, who appears in HTFA 2. More Mavericks appear in HTFA Land as bosses in their respective worlds. In that game, aside from Wheel Gator, there are also Armored Armadillo, Crush Crawfish, Magna Centipede, Chill Penguin and Storm Eagle.
- Airborne Mook: Storm Eagle, the only Maverick boss to be always seen flying during battle, never staying on ground.
- Alliterative Name: Armored Armadillo and Crush Crawfish.
- Arm Cannon: Storm Eagle has one.
- Big Creepy-Crawlies: Magna Centipede.
- Convenient Weakness Placement: Boss battles involving Wheel Gator always have some kind of water containment that can be spilled via either a convenient flashing spot (in HTFA 2) or huge buttons on each side of the boss room (in HTFA Land).
- Boss-Arena Idiocy: Wheel Gator always stands underneath the water containers. To be fair, the battle would be Unwinnable if he's placed somewhere else otherwise.
- Creepy Centipedes: Magna Centipede, obviously.
- Death from Above: Armored Armadillo's energy shots mostly come from the sky.
- Energy Ball: Most members fire these as their attack.
- Feathered Fiend: Storm Eagle.
- Flight: Storm Eagle hovers up and down on one side of his boss room.
- Giant Enemy Crayfish: Crush Crawfish.
- High-Altitude Battle: The battles that occur in airships.
- Kill It with Water: Wheel Gator. Only the water in his boss room can harm him, though.
- Making a Splash: Crush Crawfish can manipulate the rising and draining of the water in his boss room. The water doesn't damage you, but it can screw your movement because you're forced to swim. This is the main reason for Crush Crawfish being That One Boss in HTFA Land.
- Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Magna Centipede possesses four arms.
- Never Smile at a Crocodile: Wheel Gator, who is an evil alligator.
- Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: Magna Centipede is a ninja hacker centipede robot!
- No-Sell: Wheel Gator, weirdly enough for the first boss in the games he's featured in, is pretty much immune to your conventional attacks (including Special Powers!). The only way to damage him is by spilling the water container (Toothy's Special Power won't work, somehow).
- Playing with Fire: Wheel Gator's flame shot.
- Shoulders of Doom: Chill Penguin's shoulders. Also, Wheel Gator's spiky ones.
- Sound of No Damage: If you try to damage Wheel Gator the conventional way.
- Spread Shot: Some of the bosses' attack this way.
- Teleport Spam: Done by Magna Centipede.
- Vertebrate with Extra Limbs/Winged Humanoid: Storm Eagle.
- Universe: Altered Beast (1988)
The second boss in HTFA 2. He rises from the lava and attacks by firing flame shots.
- Adaptational Wimp: His whole body can be damaged and its only means of attacking simply involve shooting flame. Compare to his original appearance in the Famicom version where he can spit purple worms and summon lightning, and his weak point is the bubbling mass on his lower torso.
- Playing with Fire
- Universe: Gradius
A huge creature in the form of a giant brain with an eye. Unlike its original incarnations, this particular Brain Golem lacks arms. Only appears in HTFA 2 as an underwater boss.
- Mook Maker: Shoots Cheep-Cheeps from its eye.
- Underwater Boss Fight: He is fought underwater.
- Universe: Super Mario Bros.
An animate statue that looks like Bowser. Like the real Bowser, it attacks by shooting flame. Only appears in HTFA 2, where it guards Bowser's castle.
- Animate Inanimate Object: A statue that can move and attack you.
- Breath Weapon: How it attacks.
- Gold Makes Everything Shiny: It's a gold statue.
- Living Statue: A statue who is one of the bosses.
- Playing with Fire: Shoots flame.
- Wrap Around: It can somehow bounce backwards to go offscreen, only to show up again from the other side.
- Universe: Zoids
A Tyrannosaurus-type Zoid. It appears only in HTFA 2, where it guards Bowser's spaceship.
- Humongous Mecha: A gigantic robot.
- Mook Maker: How it attacks.
- Universe: Final Mission/S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team
A monstrous abomination from Final Mission. Bowser refers to it as the "Big Alien Wolf".
- Attack Its Weak Point: The boss has two round bulges, but the only one you can reach (located underneath its lower jaw) is its only weak point. It no sells your attacks otherwise.
- Playing with Fire: Like many other bosses, it attacks by shooting flame.
- Spread Shot: The flame shots are fired this way.
- Whack-a-Monster: It moves forward and backward between a fixed interval. Obviously, you can only damage it if it's onscreen.
- Universe: Contra
A huge alien Mini-Boss that you encounter in the last level of HTFA 4.
- Expy: Of the Xenomorph Queen from Aliens.
- Breath Weapon: Spits small flames.
- Mini-Boss: Encountered not far after you begin the second section of the last level in HTFA 4.
- Playing with Fire: See Breath Weapon.
- Universe: Super Mario Bros.
Bowser's DIC cartoon incarnation. Only appears in HTF Origins as the first boss in that game. He claims to be Bowser's cousin. Note that King Koopa is considered to be a completely separate character from Bowser in this series, so the actual Bowser is still present in the same game King Koopa is in.
- Green and Mean: A green turtle who is on the side of bad.
- Playing with Fire: His punches launch Lava Bubbles, which are fiery creatures.
- Reptiles Are Abhorrent: He's an evil turtle.
- Spikes of Villainy: His spiky shell, just like Bowser himself.
- Warm-Up Boss: He's the first boss in HTF Origins, and can be defeated easily.
- Universe: Mega Man
A huge robot turtle from the Mega Man universe. Lives deep inside Cave of Fire, the second level of HTF Origins, where he's one of the bosses you have to fight.
- Attack Its Weak Point: Only his (moving) head can be damaged.
- Breath Weapon: Breathes fire.
- Green and Mean: This boss's color scheme is mostly green.
- Playing with Fire: Spits flames.
- Stationary Boss: Other than moving his head up and down, he actually stays on his place.
- Universe: Happy Tree Friends
A character from the HTF spinoff, Ka-Pow!, specifically from the W.A.R. Journal short. Originally only the main enemy for Flippy and his allies, in this series he seeks to threaten the other Happy Tree Friends. Because of this, he also works for Bowser. He appears in HTF Origins as the third boss. In that game, he pilots the Police Cruiser, which he believes to be a perfect killing machine. He later appears in HTFA 6, where he owns a fortress and uses a chainless X Crusher instead, though he's considered Bowser's rival if the latter's letter is to be believed.
- Authority Equals Asskicking: Well, he's the General. Though he doesn't have his Tiger Soldiers in this fan series, he's implied to command some of the Koopa Troop. He uses a vehicle or mech of some kind during battles.
- Climax Boss: In HTFA 6. He's like Cossack from the Mega Man series and he's the final boss of his fortress. Also has one of the mechas from the series too, ready to smash you.
- Commissar Cap: Wears one.
- Four-Star Badass: See Authority Equals Asskicking above.
- Hook Hand: Has a metal claw on his left arm in this case.
- Macross Missile Massacre: Fires missiles in HTF Origins.
- Playing with Fire: Drops flame shots.
- The Rival: To Bowser, if Bowser's letter in HTFA 6 is to be believed.
- Start My Own: Implied to do this in HTFA 6, see The Rival above.
- Tomato Surprise: After defeating him in HTFA 6, Bowser zaps his dead corpse with a thunder and shows up, flying in his clown car and informing the heroes to get him on his fortress.
- Universe: Shinobi (actually, it's a Godzilla-lookalike)
A monstrous creature that lives inside a pyramid in Desert of Koopa in HTF Origins. When you first encounter him, you can only run away, as there's no way to damage him. It was until he falls into a lava pool and you gain access to the underground, where his skeletal form can be found there, exposing his only weakness.
- Advancing Boss of Doom: When you first encounter him, the entire level becomes an Autoscrolling Level as you can only escape from him.
- Attack Its Weak Point: During the actual battle, his weak point is exposed. And by exposed, we mean it's literally exposed, in the form of a blatantly clear weak spot marked by an oval.
- Defeat Equals Explosion/Made of Explodium: After defeating him, he somehow bursts into an explosion.
- Mythology Gag: Godzilla being Stripped to the Bone after you ran away from him in HTF Origins may be a reference to how his appearance was altered to the skeleton dinosaur look in a revision of The Revenge of Shinobi.
- No-Sell: During the escape, he's immune to all of your attacks.
- Playing with Fire: Shoots flame.
- Sound of No Damage: If your shots hit any of his body parts except the one clearly marked by the oval.
- Stripped to the Bone: After falling into a lava pool near the entrance to the pyramid. You can see the actual result in the underground, where you can finally harm him.
- Universe: Little Nemo
A ghostly being that resides deep inside the aptly-named Ghost Cave in HTF Origins.
- Defeat Equals Explosion/Made of Explodium: It explodes after being defeated.
- Mook Maker: Summons Boos... that can somehow turn into Dry Bones when colliding with the ground.
- Playing with Fire: Shoots the usual red hot flames, as well as a large blue flame that takes away two health points from you.
- Creator: HTFMegamanUniverse: Super Mario Bros.
A Koopa minion driving what appears to be a mech combined from King Tank and King Plane. He can be fought at the sixth level in HTF Origins.
- Attack Its Weak Point: His mech's only weak point is the red turret, which is used to fire red energy shots.
- Degraded Boss: Not the boss himself per se, but rather his mech. The non-boss version of those mechs are smaller and can be destroyed easier.
- Macross Missile Massacre: His mech can shoot missiles.
- Reptiles Are Abhorrent: Koopa Commander himself looks rather ugly.
- Universe: Little Samson
A huge dragon (actually a wizard) that was revived by Bowser in HTF Origins. Bowser uses him to threaten Happy Tree Kingdom, as well as to capture every resident there. Fortunately, only very few survived this monster's rampage.
- Attack Its Weak Point: Only his midsection can be damaged.
- Breath Weapon: Breathes fire.
- Defeat Equals Explosion/Made of Explodium: He explodes after being defeated.
- Playing with Fire: Obviously.
- Was Once a Man: Those who are not aware of his game origin may simply think of him as a generic dragon. He's actually one of the wizard bosses in Little Samson.
- Universe: Super Mario Bros.
A pink dino-like creature that shoots eggs. Many of these creatures appear as mini-bosses in HTFA 5, where you have to fight one before clearing a (non-boss) level.
- Abnormal Ammo: Shoots eggs.
- Ambiguous Gender: Physically male, but considers herself female.
- Breath Weapon: Her (sort of) way of firing her eggs.
- Informed Attribute: Despite having "bird" on her (species) name, she looks more like a dinosaur.
- Mini-Boss
- Non-Indicative Name: See Informed Attribute above.
- Universe: Gradius
A dragon-like creature that resides in the abandoned ruins somewhere in Happy Tree Kingdom, as seen in HTFA 5.
- Abnormal Ammo: Despite looking fiery in appearance, it attacks by shooting... eggs.
- Spread Shot: The eggs are fired this way.
- Warm-Up Boss: The boss of the first kingdom, and it's pretty easy to kill.
- Universe: Wario Land
A huge green snake that lives in the ruins in Aqua Kingdom. Located underwater, somehow it can survive being there for long (unless it's actually an aquatic snake compared to its Wario Land incarnation, but then again real aquatic snakes don't stay underwater for too long). Also, it can somehow breathe fire there.
- Breath Weapon: See below.
- Playing with Fire: Shoots flame... underwater.
- Underwater Boss Fight: He is fought in the Aqua Kingdom, obviously underwater.
- Whack-a-Monster: It switches places between the two passages (upper and lower) between a fixed interval. You can only damage it if it's onscreen.
- Creator: HTFMegamanUniverse: Wonder Boy
A palette swap of Tyrant Dragon from Wonder Boy in Monster World. It's recolored red and has brighter color palette overall. In HTFA 5, it's the boss of Desert Kingdom.
- Breath Weapon: Breathes fire.
- Palette Swap: Of Tyrant Dragon, done by Radel himself.
- Playing with Fire: Of course. And this is first of the three instances where the bosses' attacks all involve shooting a huge flame that covers a considerable range and follows your character. In this boss's case, however, that makes it That One Boss in HTFA 5.
- Universe: Ghostbusters
A huge fiery dragon-based ghost that rises from the lava pools in Jungle Kingdom's cave in HTFA 5.
- Breath Weapon: Breathes fire.
- Flash of Pain: Joined by "comical" MS Paint bulging eyes.
- Our Ghosts Are Different: It's a dragon-based ghost that is made of fire.
- Playing with Fire: Attacks similarly like The Red Dragon.
- Whack-a-Monster: It rises from and sinks back to lava between a fixed interval. It can either show up on the left, center, or right part of the boss room.
- Universe: The Legendary Starfy
The boss that resides in Ice Kingdom in HTFA 5. Instead of having electrical attacks, he shoots flame like the previous two bosses.
- Playing with Fire: Even though he lives in Ice Kingdom. The ice there, miraculously, does not melt.
- Universe: Super Mario Bros.
A huge frog king that rules the Dream Kingdom in HTFA 5. Instead of tossing veggies at him, you simply shoot him with balls/orbs.
- Adipose Rex: Ruled Dream Kingdom until the Happy Tree Friends killed him.
- Boss-Arena Idiocy: Averted in the encounter against him. There are no vegetables at all in his throne room. Nothing stops the player from simply shooting him to death, however, considering the Happy Tree Friends' way of attacking in this series.
- Bubble Gun: Shoots bubbles from his mouth.
- Flash of Pain
- Killed Off for Real: It is possible that Wart ends up being this. The Boss Rush level in the final kingdom features bosses from the previous kingdoms, but Wart is nowhere to be seen.
- Making a Splash: His bubble attacks.
- Requisite Royal Regalia: Wears a crown, bracelets, a robe and a medallion.
- Verbal Tic: "Ribbit!"
- He even says that after a scream of pain from being defeated.
- Creator: HTFMegaman (except for Spiked Koopa)
A group of six Koopas working for Bowser. They first appeared in HTFA 6, with Spiked Koopa getting another appearance in HTFA GB. The Koopas include Spiked Koopa, Fire Koopa, Jungle Koopa, Water Koopa, Ice Koopa and Ghost Koopa.
- The Big Guy: Ghost Koopa, thanks to his build, making him larger than other Koopa Masters.
- Breath Weapon: Ice Koopa blows ice.
- Fat Bastard: Jungle Koopa and Water Koopa can be seen as this.
- Fragile Speedster: Fire Koopa, who runs so fast yet can be shot multiple times very easily. Just watch out for those lava pillars...
- Green Thumb: Jungle Koopa, who can summon several invincible yellow Piranha Plants that appear for a short time.
- Head Swap: Several of the members actually each have the body of a character from a completely different universe.
- Prongs of Poseidon: Water Koopa has a trident decorated on his head.
- Shockwave Stomp: Done by Spiked Koopa in HTFA GB.
- Soul Power: Ghost Koopa. He can fire invincible Boos.
- Spikes of Doom: In HTFA 6, Spiked Koopa shoots out his spikes when he leaps out from his Spin Attack.
- Ice Koopa's boss room has these covering almost half the ground there in order to avoid exploits involving shooting him from behind.
- Spikes of Villainy: Spiked Koopa, obviously.
- Jungle Koopa, too, if you look closely on his sprite.
- Spin Attack: Spiked Koopa spends most of his time in this invulnerable state.
- Wake-Up Call Boss: Regardless on which order you played the early levels in HTFA 6, Fire Koopa is this, as battling him requires quick reflexes if you don't want to die easily. Compare this to the other Koopa Masters (and Brandy) that either require a set strategy (Spiked Koopa) or simply plain attacking from a safe place and dodging (most others). He's also the only boss in that game to be able to deal two points of damage.
- Universe: Mega Man
A three-wheeled tank from the Mega Man universe. Appears in HTFA 6 as the first boss you fight in Tiger General's fortress.
- Playing with Fire: Its shots turn into flames when they touch the ground.
- Tank Goodness
- Warm-Up Boss: For Tiger General's fortress. You'll be getting used to fighting the huge mechs.
- Universe: Mega Man
A large robot that appears in HTFA 6 as the second boss in Tiger General's fortress.
- Adaptational Wimp: In HTFA 6, you can pretty much shoot any part of this robot unlike its Mega Man 4 incarnation, where its only weak point is its forehead (specifically, the green orb on it).
- This might be intentional, as due to where the boss is placed, it's impossible to reach the forehead.
- Playing with Fire: Small flame shots or its flamethrower-esque attack. Pick your poison.
- Stationary Boss
- Universe: Mega Man
A robot from Mega Man 5. In HTFA 6, it lacks the two segments underneath its head. It's the third boss in Tiger General's fortress.
- Character Select Forcing: This boss forces this trope, as the easiest way to damage it is by using Flaky, who jumps the highest. Other characters have to wait until the boss lowers itself.
- However, her jumping height can be a double-edged sword as well, as a single jump can even reach it, causing Collision Damage. However, you can combine this with her Spin Dash (limited use, though).
- Playing with Fire: Fires flame shots.
- Universe: Mega Man
A machine whose ways of attacking involve crushing the player if he/she walks underneath it and dropping flame shots. Appears in HTFA 6 as the fourth boss in Tiger General's fortress.
- Attack Its Weak Point: Averted in HTFA 6. The window never opens and we never get to see who rides it. To make up for that fact, you can shoot any part of the boss to deal damage to it.
- Character Select Forcing: Like the previous boss, this one pretty much forces you to go with a quick runner if you want to avoid getting crushed by it. Otherwise, you'd better have a quick reflex, both when baiting it to go down and when attacking it after doing that.
- Playing with Fire: Drops flame shots.
- Universe: Mega Man
A robotic dragon who is the first boss in Bowser's fortress in HTFA 6.
- Breath Weapon: See Playing with Fire below.
- Game-Breaking Bug: Occassionally, it ends up flying too high, due to how its movement is programmed. It's pretty much Unwinnable if that happens and you have to reload your save.
- Our Dragons Are Different: A robot dragon.
- Playing with Fire: Shoots flame.
- Spread Shot: How the flames are shot.
- Creator: HTFMegamanUniverse: Happy Tree Friends
A robotic version of Neena. She appears as the second boss in Bowser's fortress in HTFA 6.
- Evil Knockoff: Of Neena.
- Leg Cannon: More like Foot/Sole Cannon, as she actually fires the missiles from there.
- Macross Missile Massacre: Can shoot missiles.
- Making a Splash: Can cause a (rather low) tidal wave.
- Creator: HTFMegamanUniverse: Happy Tree Friends
A robotic version of Tacho. He appears as the third boss in Bowser's fortress in HTFA 6.
- Evil Knockoff: Of Tacho.
- Eye Beams: How he fires a flame shot.
- Macross Missile Massacre: Can shoot missiles.
- Playing with Fire: Shoots flame.
- Power Palms: They actually don't fire energy shots per se, since both palms are used to fire missiles.
- Creator: HTFMegamanUniverse: Super Mario Bros./Bionic Commando
A Koopa with the body of a Bionic Commando boss. Appears in HTFA GB as the second boss.
- Beam Spam
- Cyborg: Probably can be seen as this.
- Energy Weapon: His only attack.
- Game-Breaking Bug: If your computer isn't fast enough, this boss might end up jumping far enough to launch himself offscreen, making the game Unwinnable. Worse yet, you have no passwords or save files to help you, so you have to start over from the beginning. (good thing he's the second boss, but going from the beginning again is rather tedious)
- Head Swap: Take a Bionic Commando boss, then put a Koopa's head on it.
- Killed Off for Real: Much like Wart in HTFA 5, once Robo Koopa is defeated, he won't appear in the Boss Rush.
- Universe: Ghosts 'n Goblins
A large skeletal bee demon that appears in Gargoyle's Quest. In HTFA GB, he appears as the third boss you have to fight against.
- Flight: He spends most of the time flying.
- Ground Pound: His only direct attack, aside from causing Collision Damage if you touch him.
- Playing with Fire: He makes use of the lava pools underneath the ground you stand on by causing some of them to rise upwards whenever he slams the ground.
- Universe: Final Fantasy
Also known as Kary, Marilis, Lilith, or Maliris, she's a snake-like creature from Final Fantasy universe. She appears in HTFA GB as the fourth boss you have to fight.
- Killed Off for Real: Won't appear in the Boss Rush once she's killed.
- Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Has more than two arms and is one of the bosses.
- Shockwave Stomp: Does this in addition to firing energy shots.
- Snakes Are Sexy
- Snake People: She resembles a snake.
- Stationary Boss: Other than ground-pounding to unleash the shockwaves, she doesn't actually move from her spot.
- Universe: Ghosts 'n Goblins
A blowfish-like creature from Gargoyle's Quest. Somehow, unlike in his home game, you encounter him underwater instead of at volcanic areas or burning hot environments. At least, that's how you encounter him in HTFA GB.
- Killed Off for Real: Won't appear in the Boss Rush once he's killed.
- Underwater Boss Fight: He is fought underwater.
- Whack-a-Monster: Depending on which half of his boss room he's swimming through, he either swims from right to left (lower half) or vice versa (upper half), which allows him to go offscreen for a while before showing at either lower or upper half of the boss room. Considering his attack (firing energy shots aimed at your character), you might land 3-5 hits on average every time he's on-screen as you have to dodge those shots.
- Universe: Mega Man
A helicopter robot from the Mega Man universe. Instead of being a sub-boss in its home game, it's one of the main bosses in HTFA GB.
- Spread Shot: Its only attack. And it's fast as hell.
- Creator: HTFMegamanUniverse: Super Mario Bros.
A mech that is shaped like Bowser's head. Appears as the penultimate boss in HTFA GB.
- Flight: It uses the booster on its back to support movement.
- Universe: Super Mario Bros.
One of Bowser's henchmen. Makes multiple appearances in HTFA Land as mid-world bosses, usually located in castles.
- The Brute: Prefers physical approach for combat, compared to the Happy Tree Friends' combination of ranged (balls/orbs/Special Powers) and direct attacks (stomping).
- Leitmotif: In HTFA Land, he goes with the Ninja Gaiden boss music.
- Meaningful Name: His Japanese name is an onomatopeia for shaking something violently, like he does with his arms.
- Mini-Boss
- Recurring Boss: In HTFA Land, due to his Mini-Boss status, even after exploding into Ludicrous Gibs with each defeat.
- Spikes of Doom: Shows some on his shell whenever he crouches after getting stomped on.
- Spikes of Villainy: See above.
- Top-Heavy Guy
- Unfortunate Names: Boom Boom's name is totally not related to Toilet Humor at all. No siree...
- Universe: Mega Man
A gigantic robot tyrannosaurus that appears in the seventh world in HTFA Land as a boss. Ever since the Rainbow World has lost its seven Rainbow Critters (which are simply Squeakers with feet and a different face), that place is now ruled by the robot.
- Attack Its Weak Point: You can only damage him by shooting his yellow lower jaw.
- Humongous Mecha: A giant robot tyrannosaurus.
- Playing with Fire: Shoots flame.
- Spread Shot: Three (out of five) of the fireballs are shot this way.
- Creator: HTFMegamanUniverse: Happy Tree Friends
A rabbit/porcupine/squirrel hybrid created by Bowser in Happy Tree Friends Adventures RPG: The Fire Point who was tasked to stop Cuddles's party from reaching the secret entrance in Luvanut Cemetery to Bowser's castle.
- Artificial Human: Created by dark magic.
- Black Magic: How he came to be.
- Damage-Increasing Debuff: Can glare to temporarily reduce a party member's physical Defense.
- Damage-Sponge Boss: Like most bosses in RPG: The Fire Point, albeit with an extra helping of being able to resist Defense debuffs. Subverted, though, when one of his only two weakness is Physical-type attacks... which are the majority of battle skills that can be learned by the protagonists.
- Dark Is Evil: See Artificial Human above. In battle, he also resists Dark-type skills. He only has one Dark-type attack in his arsenal, though.
- Defeat Equals Explosion: Shown in the overworld cutscene after his defeat.
- Expy/Affectionate Parody: Of Noob Saibot.
- Faux Affably Evil: Not shown in the cutscenes, but in battle his actions can be half threatening... and half childish (or mundane). He can cheer himself up, cry, and eat oranges.
- Heal Thyself: Can heal himself by, wait for it... eating an orange.
- Hybrid Monster: Is a hybrid of a rabbit, a porcupine, and a squirrel.
- Lightning Can Do Anything: Surprises the party by appearing from a lightning bolt.
- Man Bites Man: Can chew on a party member to inflict damage.
- No-Sell: Yoshi's Egg Lay (if the player has Yoshi present) does nothing on him. He is also immune to the Blind and Sleep status problems.
- Red and Black and Evil All Over: Primarily colored black/gray, and has red eyes and blood-stained teeth.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Has glowing red eyes.
- Reflective Eyes: His arrival is preceded with his silhouette being visible from Cuddles's eye.
- Sdrawkcab Name: His name is Radel's name spelled backwards.
- Super-Speed: Apparently can use Lightning Speed, an increased priority attack that Cuddles and Tacho can learn naturally.
- Universe: Super Mario Bros.
The Big Bad of this fanmade series. In the first game, he kidnapped Giggles without any kind of reason. But starting from the second game onwards, specifically the games that feature Princess Allay, he kidnaps the princess mainly to threaten the Happy Tree Kingdom so it can be easily taken down. In HTF Origins, however, he managed to capture almost everyone living in the kingdom, leaving only Lemy, Allay, Neena and Tacho. In HTFA Land, he captures the Rainbow Critters just so the rainbow will never show up anymore... but it turns out to be a Bait-and-Switch for the Happy Tree Friends (and the player, for that matter) as during their journey to rescue those critters, Bowser has managed to kidnap the defenseless Allay.
In this series, Bowser not only builds his army from the regular Koopa Troopas and other Super Mario Bros. enemies, he also managed to befriend and recruit various monstrosities from the Contra universe, the Mavericks from the Mega Man X games, as well as many more creatures from various other universes. Tiger General is also one of his allies.
- Adaptational Badass: He's Radel's favorite character, so Radel decided to give him this treatment. He was notable for kidnapping Allay, allying with creepy aliens, and summoning his Koopalings to try to end the heroes. He as well made a giant mecha in HTFA 6 and he was once friends with the HTF villains.
- Arch-Enemy: Instead of against Mario, he's against Cuddles (as well as the other Happy Tree Friends that join the latter).
- Author Appeal: The reason why Bowser mostly appears in every HTFA game is because Radel's favourite character of all time was Bowser. Also, he made a Contra fangame depicting Bowser in the place of Bill Rizer, and the name of the game is Bowser the Warrior.
- Bait-and-Switch: As shown in the first cutscene in HTFA Land, Bowser uses an airship to capture the Rainbow Critters. However, it turns out that rescuing those critters isn't the main objective of the game. Bowser has managed to kidnap Princess Allay while the heroes are gone.
- Big Bad: The main villain of the game. With emphasis on big!
- Breath Weapon: Still known for breathing fire as his main attack.
- Clown Car: His Clown Car, which only appears in certain games.
- The smaller version of that vehicle is used to drop Flippy into his boss room in HTFA 6.
- Determinator: He will never stop trying to take down Happy Tree Kingdom.
- The Emperor: Made more obvious by him running an empire in HTF Origins.
- Evil Is Burning Hot: Like in his home franchise.
- Evil Laugh: Depending on the game.
- Evil Redhead: A redhead and the Big Bad.
- Fat Bastard: He's tubby and extremely cruel.
- Final Boss: Always. But certain games also have you encounter Bowser in a boss fight several times.
- Game-Over Man:
- HTFA 1 has Bowser standing in the background while all four protagonists fall into spikes when you get a game over. "YOU MUST DIE"
- In HTFA 6, the game over screen features Bowser once again, who has decapitated Cuddles and Giggles.
- HTFA Land depicts Bowser flying in his Clown Car in the game over screen.
- Large and in Charge
- Make My Monster Grow: Used on himself, depending on the game.
- Mix-and-Match Critters: Bowser is mostly turtle-like with some ox-like features, but also has some features of crocodile, dragon and dinosaur.
- Non-Mammalian Hair: He's a turtle-like creature with red hair.
- One-Winged Angel: In some HTFA games, Bowser grows up in his giant size for his 2nd form from something like a spell.
- In HTFA 6, instead, he uses his giant mecha looking like himself in the final battle against him.
- Playing with Fire: His main attacks involve flames.
- Put on a Bus: Not Bowser himself, obviously, but rather his Giga Bowser form, which made its last appearance in HTFA 3.
- The Bus Came Back: This form came back during the final battle in RPG: The Fire Point.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: He has red eyes and the main antagonist.
- The Rival: If his letter in HTFA 6 is to be believed, Tiger General.
- Spikes of Villainy: Of course.
- Thememobile: His Koopa Clown Car.
- Too Dumb to Live: In this series, it's applied to Bowser and everything else on his side. In other words, it's an inversion between the two main franchises featured in the series.
- Would Hurt a Child: Bowser has no qualms in harming/killing any of the Happy Tree Friends, which consist of mostly children and young teens in this fan series.
- Your Head A-Splode: His death in HTFA 1. This is probably the only time he's suffering a rather graphic death like the Happy Tree Friends.
