In anime, when a Cheerful Child is being cute, often they'll have what appears to be blush on their cheeks, except that instead of being drawn as a circular gradient like you might expect, the blush appears as a flat horizontal oval with little or no shading, almost as though they just put a sticker on their cheek. Sometimes the blush even goes past the edge of their cheek and sits half on their cheek and half in the air.
A character may have one or two Blush Stickers regardless of whether it's symmetrical. Sometimes, blush stickers are even permanent. It's also popular on dark-skinned characters whose blush might be otherwise hard to see.
Expect these characters to be prone to the Crush Blush.
Compare Luminescent Blush and Drunken Glow. Either one may also be used to indicate drunkenness or, in the case of Hentai and Ecchi, arousal. See also Through a Face Full of Fur for the non-human variant. Do not confuse it with a Butt Sticker.

- Common for characters in Anpanman. They are commonly given to "cuter" characters, but they are always permanent, and a few of them are colored differently (for example, Shokupanman's are brown to match his bread crust).
- The fairy wind spirit Bell in Black Clover has a pair that extend past her cheeks.
- Cardcaptor Sakura: Sakura gets a single Blush Sticker on one of her cheeks.
- A Certain Magical Index:
- Last Ordernote has them permanently equipped. Except when telling Accelerator he doesn't suck and later when dying of some kind of computer virus.
- Mrs. Misaka also has these in season 2 when she's harassing Accelerator while drunk. It's because of the blush stickers that Accelerator realizes her resemblance to Last Order.
- Cowboy Bebop:
- Ed and her online avatar both get a pair of Blush Stickers.
- Wen from the episode "Sympathy for the Devil". Before the gate incident...
- Daily Lives of High School Boys has Ringo, who is the only character who has them.
- Tsukamoto from DAYS has a permanent blush on his cheeks. They emphasise his shyness and his cuteness compared to the other boys.
- Doraemon: The cloud creatures from the episode "My Own Golden Cloud" have permanent blush stickers.
- Doraemon: Nobita and the Windmasters has the new character, the Badass Adorable child wind-mage Temujin who have two permanent ovals on each side of his cheeks.
- Chiaotzu from Dragon Ballz has permanently red rosy cheeks to go along with his child-like appearance.
- Brain damage-induced Split Personality Nyu from Elfen Lied has been spotted with these. Blush Stickers on Lucy, on the other hand, is likely one of the signs of the apocalypse.
- Fairy Tail:
- Happy gets these after switching bodies with Erza.
- Juvia Lockser also gets these frequently when around Gray... in fact, the first time she met Gray (on the battlefield, as they hailed from opposite guilds) was also the first time she went from an Emotionless Girl to a blushing, thirsty wreck.
- Future Diary has the resident Creepy Child and Enfante Terrible Reisuke Houjou who shows the permanent version of this trope.
- Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex features one of the Tachikomas with blush stickers in an omake. The Tachikomas are robotic hexapedal tanks.
- Shuichi from Gravitation does this once or twice in the anime.
- Hanaukyō Maid Team La Vérité. Multiple characters in multiple episodes when they're embarrassed.
- Clover
◊ from Happy Happy Clover always has them. Mostly in the anime, while in the original manga they would show up randomly.
- Practically all the characters in Hetalia: Axis Powers seem to have permanent Blush Stickers.
- Hajime's mother Kyouko and Ai-chan in I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying both have permanent ones.
- Kujira no Josephina gives these to Cheerful Child/Annoying Younger Sibling Rosa, a sharp contrast to her older brother Santi's Youthful Freckles.
- Love Hina: Shinobu occasionally has them, and Su has them all the time.
- A defining trait of Luca from Macross Frontier. He loses them as the show becomes drastically more serious, befitting his new, somber attitude. He regains them when the SMS Macross Quarter joins the final battle and Ozma takes him back under his wing.
- Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha: Nanoha got them on the very first episode when Yuuno licked her finger.
- Virtually everyone in Me & My Brothers sports Blush Stickers constantly, but look especially Moe on Miyashita Sakura, the female protagonist of the Manga.
- Ochaco Uraraka in My Hero Academia has small permanent ones which highlight her cuteness and innocence, and she inherited them from her mother. They become even more notorious when asked about her feelings for Izuku Midoriya, whom she obviously has a crush on.
- My Lovely Ghost Kana: Kana gets these when she is really happy, especially when she is around Daikichi.
- Jean Rocque Raltique from Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water has the permanent variety.
- Naruto:
- Rock Lee had these when he first met Sakura and also gets them when he gets drunk.
- Moegi has these all the time. She lost her blush by the time she became an adult.
- Konohamaru has them in the manga too. He lost them as an adult.
- Hinata as a young child in flashbacks.
- Negima! Magister Negi Magi:
- Subverted with Chao Lingshen. What appears to be Blush stickers are actually part of a Tron Lines Marked Change, and the rest is just under her clothes and hair.
- Also Zect, who is a very old and powerful demon, easily recognized as such by denizens of the magic world.
- Neon Genesis Evangelion: If you look closely, you see that child Shinji◊ has Blush Stickers in a scene from End of Evangelion.
- Niea and Karna from Niea_7 have very prominent ones, which seems to be an alien thing.
- Shinzo of Ninja Hattori is depicted with this kind of blush.
- The "drunk" version is used with Asuka and Miyuki in Noein.
- in One Piece Mr. 2 has these all the time, even when he isn't wearing makeup, leading many to believe that it's natural.
- Ojamajo Doremi: Hana has them all the time until she grows up. When she uses magic to switch places with Pop in a Naisho episode, these appearing on the latter makes it clear what just happened.
- Aunty Yorkshire from Pecola has the permanent variety.
- Misaki in The Pet Girl of Sakurasou sports them sometimes, and shows up in the avatar for Ryuunosuke's Artificial Intelligence system "maid" that she designed.
- A variation appears in Pokémon Golden Boys. Every (human) character has markings on their cheeks that resemble small Luminescent Blushes.
- Princess Jellyfish: Kuranosuke's older brother gets these while having a romantic Imagine Spot.
- Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Tatsuya, Madoka's little brother, has the permanent variety. It certainly helps that he is one of (very) few characters not emotionally battered by the end of the series.
- Maggie Mui in R.O.D the TV gets these regularly. Interesting, as she's the tall, quiet one of the sisters.
- Rurouni Kenshin:
- Sanosuke's kid brother has permanent blush stickers and is nicknamed 'Apple Cheeks' for obvious reasons.
- In the epilogue, Kenji, the son of Kenshin and Kaoru has these.
- In Sailor Moon, during a flashback to Rei's childhood in episode 183, Rei is shown with blush stickers.
- Saiyuki: Son Goku is sometimes seen with one or both of these, particularly in flashbacks or in Gaiden, when he is younger.
- Saki: Kana has them practically all the time save for when she's really depressed.
- 7 Seeds gives them to the three youngest of the characters Hibari, Nobita and Hotaru, although the latter is the only one who sports them permanently.
- Soul Eater:
- Patti. She has these all the time. And also Blair, when she acts particularly cat-like.
- Death the Kid whenever he sees something symmetrical.
- Studio Ghibli uses this a lot.
- Setsuko in Grave of the Fireflies. She loses them as she slowly dies of starvation.
- Koume of Taishō Baseball Girls. All the frickin' time. She can add an additional layer of blush on top of her stickers. Now THAT's Moe.
- Tsubasa -RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE-: Kurogane of all people gets one when Syaoran suggests they steal a book holding one of Sakura's feathers. Much like Fai's example earlier in the chapter, it seems to be a sign of boyish mischief more than anything else.
- In Umi no Misaki, Karin's little sister Rinne has permanent ones.
- Yo-kai Watch:
- Babies are depicted with blush stickers. Nate had them as an infant and his son in the Spin-Offspring series Yo-kai Watch: Shadowside had them too.
- Alfred from "Jibanyan's Secret Past" is a keet kitten with blush stickers.
- Yotsuba gets these when she's particularly proud of something she did, like reading off a menu or tying her shoe. (For context, Yotsuba is five years old.)
- Appears on many Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, but the most prominent is the Dark Magician Girl.
- The Nishigori triplets from Yuri!!! on Ice all have permanent ones, being the youngest characters in the cast.
Asian Animation
- Miss Peach of Happy Heroes has permanent blush stickers.
- The characters in Our Friend Xiong Xiao Mi have blushes of this kind.
- The Pleasant Goat Fun Class versions of the Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf characters have permanent blush stickers.
- In Yamucha's-Kung Fu Academy, this is a common feature with the characters. The squid thieves don't have them.
Comic Books
- Robin (1993): The villain Tiger Moth (II) evidently likes the aesthetic as she included a set of blush stickers on her otherwise insectoid mask.
- In Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade Linda Lee—alias Supergirl—blushes this way after being lectured publicly by her school's Principal.
- Teen Titans: Year One: For whatever reason, Wonder Girl has permanent blush stickers.
- Wonder Woman Vol 1: Princess Snowina has a permanent pink round blush on each cheek.
Films — Animated
- In Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: Amazing Pleasant Goat, Little Cutie, a green caterpillar Tibbie carries with her, has permanent swirl-shaped blushes.
Literature
- Most of the main cast of Samurai Scarecrow have these. Kasha may be the exception, her blush looking more natural than the others.
Live-Action TV
- In The Toy Castle, several of the characters, such as the Soldier, the Ballerina, and the Rag Doll, have painted red/pink cheeks, highlighting their nature as toys.

- IWA Texas ACW American Joshi Champion Su Yung painted two in the vein of Pikachu on her face.
Toys
- Lalaloopsy dolls have sewn-on cheeks in varying shades of pink, as they are based on ragdolls.
- Several characters in Tamagotchi, including (but not limited to) Mametchi, Lovelitchi, Kuromametchi, Kikitchi, Orenetchi, and Nijfuwatchi, have permanent blush stickers.
Video Games
- In the opening animation for the PS2 version of Arcana Heart, the whole cast showcases this trope.
- Lina of Blade Strangers sports a pair, which is quite jarring considering her personality.
- BlazBlue slaps a pair on Makoto after Amane's Astral is done with her. Gentlemen... BEHOLD!!◊
- Toroko from Cave Story has permanent bright ovals on both her cheeks. Ma Pignon has a permanent one on his left cheek.
- Aurora from Child of Light has these, making her look cute and innocent. She still keeps them after her Overnight Age-Up into a young lady.
- Some ports of ClockWerx have Stop Motion Cutscenes in which the protagonist sports these—and they really are an extra layer of pink clay stuck to his face.
- Disgaea: Flonne has them.
- Elliot and the Musical Journey: Elliot and Tristan have these permanently stuck on their faces.
- The characters of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. As for its sequel, they transformed into Luminescent Blushes.
- All the hamsters blush this way in the Hamtaro games.
- Some of the characters in Kirby (including the titular character) have blush stickers. This includes the Waddle Dees and even Meta Knight! (though you'll have to break the latter's mask to see them).
- The Legend of Zelda:
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask gives these to the Deku Princess. It helps to further mark her as the only Deku Scrub who is both fully friendly and lacking their Fantastic Racism.
- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has the very unusual example of the Deku Toad◊, a miniboss monster with a pair of these designed with differently colored rings that give them the appearance of archery targets.
- In The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Link gains some, although they are only visible on his map sprite-symbol and in certain cutscenes. This is the second notable trait that sets him apart from the otherwise identical Link from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, the first being the lower pitch of his voice.
- In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Impa's timid granddaughter Paya has these. Revali also has small patches of feathers that resemble these, though unusually for this trope he's far from bashful. Lastly, "The Champions' Ballad" shows that Prince Sidon had these back when he was a timid child.
- LUNA: The Shadow Dust: The boy has blush stickers visible on his cheeks. They're half-obscured by the boy's bunny rabbit ears headgear.
- The Mother series uses ovular blush stickers on both the in-game sprites and clay models of many of its younger, cuter characters, including all of the Kid Hero protagonists. Alongside the Super-Deformed proportions of the characters, it gives the art style of the series its soft, round cuteness (and contributes to the slight Art-Style Dissonance considering some of the darker themes of the games).note
- The Other: Airi's Adventure: The Underground Monkey-type Palette Swap version of ordinary red Tomato enemies, Sweet Tomatoes, have them. They just keep waiting, never attacking.
- Most of the younger fairy characters in the Panel de Pon series have them.
- In Persona 4, Ayane. To the point where it's a fandom joke that every time she actually blushes, she's closer to evolving into a Pikachu.
- Phantom Brave has Marona, Carona, and Castile, who all have very faint ones in most official art featuring them.
- Many Pokémon, especially of the Fairy egg group. Clefairy and Pikachu are most noteworthy of the lot, being the original and ascended fanon franchise mascots, respectively. Pikachu's red blush stickers are particularly noteworthy - as they're actually a pair of organs that control its electric abilities called "electric sacs". Pikachu isn't alone as there are many electric rodent Pokemon with electric sacs on their cheeks. They all are able to learn an attack called "Nuzzle" (known as Cheek Rub in Japanese), which does little damage but always paralyzes the target.
- More than 90% of the characters in Pokémon Café Mix are an exercise in how to effectively apply blush stickers to the cheeks of various Pokémon to maximize their cuteness.
- Princess Maker 5: Your daughter sports a pair of these. Oddly enough, there are times in which she actually blushes.
- Luke Triton of Professor Layton has somewhat difficult-to-distinguish blush stickers on his sprites and character models, though in animation they become a Luminescent Blush. A number of NPCs in the series also have them.
- A number of Puyo Puyo characters, including but not limited to Feli and Oniko, have permanent blush stickers. Other times, characters will briefly spawn blush stickers on their faces to express an emotion, such as Tee's blushing dialogue sprite being used exactly once in the story mode for Puyo Puyo Tetris.
- Ragnarok Online has the Blush middle headgear.
- In-game, inklings in Splatoon have circular blush marks on their cheeks, although they're considerably more realistic in color than most examples.
- Blushes of the Summon Night series are always of this sort.
- In Super Mario Party, Mario is given faint reddish blush on his cheeks for some reason, although unlike other examples on this list they realistically blend in with his skin, similar to the Splatoon example above. It's the only game he ever has these circular blushes.
- In the Super Smash Bros. series, Ness has rosy blush stickers on his cheeks, most notably in the first three games. Averted in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate where he no longer has them.
- Tales of the Abyss: Tear's "Monster Collector" title gives her these, but they're hard to notice until a cutscene.
- In Team Fortress 2, the Pocket Medic is a little team-colored Medic doll that sits in a pocket stitched to the Heavy's vest or the Soldier's fatigues, complete with a smile and blush. Isn't he cute?
- Every single character in Touhou Mystia's Izakaya has them. It's such a core part of the game's art style that even the characters' smaller overworld sprites have them.
- A large number of the characters in Touhou Project have them in ZUN's art, though they're often so subtle that they're easy to miss. It doesn't help that whether or not a character has them isn't consistent between games.
- Kanisawa Kinu, from Tsuyokiss, has these permanently.
- Undertale:
- Chara has these. What a cute thing for such a cute potentially mass murdering child to have!
- Tsundereplane can also develop the conventional pair of pink stickers sitting half on and half off its cockpit, which add a rare Splash of Color to the usually monochrome battle screen.
- In A Witch's Tale, almost every character has blush stickers except for the Eld Witch and the Cheshire Cat.
Visual Novels
- Ace Attorney:
- The very young Pearl Fey has blush marks.
- Pops up a few times on the more comedic characters, especially Larry Butz, who blushes when he gets excited or flustered.
- Incongruously, the aptly-named Wendy Oldbag also blushes whenever in fangirl mode over her latest celebrity obsession (and Edgey-poo).
- Iris tends to have blush marks a lot, especially when talking with or about Phoenix.
- Juniper has permanent ones when in casual clothes. When she knits the scarf for Apollo they double in size.
- The fruits in Chop Chop Fruit salad Mystery Jam DokiDoki Dating Sim THingy get blush stickers slapped over their photorealistic fruit bodies whenever they're flustered.
- Teruteru Hanamura, Hiyoko Saionji and Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu from Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair has permanent ones - the latter likely to his chagrin, since he certainly doesn't appreciate being thought of as cute. They also appear on Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony’s Ryoma Hoshi.
- When Emi from Katawa Shoujo blushes, it takes a form of bright pink ovals that extend past her cheeks.
Web Animation
- BIONICLE Bohrok Animations: Hewkii and Macku blush over their masks after their romantic moment gets interrupted. Writer Greg Farshtey would use this gag an example for why these animations and their implied romances are not canon to his BIONICLE books and comics.

- Happy Tree Friends: Cuddles and Mime have permanent, pink blush on their cheeks.
- Neko Sugar Girls: Koneko and Raku have blush stickers to signify they're supposed to be cute Cat Girl characters.
- Trick Moon: Pocket always has pink, circle-shaped blush on her cheeks.
Webcomics
- Princess Peach permanently has blush marks in The 3 Little Princesses. None of the other characters have it though so it probably signifies her eccentric attitude and her place as The Fake Cutie. Later Rosalina and Daisy get blushes due to playing a Drinking Game for The Legend of Zelda (1989); Peach's normal blush simply deepens.
- Taito Consolers:
- Taito has rather strange yellow, round ones on her cheeks.
- HAL has more standard small pink ones.
- Alaska from Destiny Fails Us displays the blush stickers in almost every comic she appears in. Other characters may display blush stickers at various times.
- Far Star Summer School: A few of the students have these as a part of their character designs:
- Esther has round blushes on her cheeks.
- Leecha too, although hers are a little more misshapen.
- The Intrepid Girlbot has blush magnets in this guest comic by Abby Lehrke◊.
- Latchkey Kingdom features the Lag race, many of whom have prominent Blush Sticker-like fur patterns. Willa, the protagonist, is unique in having an extra set diagonally down and back from the ones on her cheeks.
- Michelle Flammel from Monsterful is an exaggerated example. She's an Homunculus girl with a permanent blush as one of her trademark features; this blush may even be combined with a different blush to create a Double-Blush when she's actually feeling shy or nervous. Even when she transforms into the PHC (Psychotic Homunculus Cyborg) and half of her face becomes robotized she sports a robotic light permanent blush.
- Questionable Content has this, but seemingly only for robots; human characters blush in a more natural way. This may be entirely intentional, as a robot would need to have a "blush function" built in by design.
- Most of the characters in Shortpacked! have permanent ones. Mike's only show up when he's drunk.
- Tower of God: Yeo Goseng sports these after the Room game, praising Wangnan. At that point, she is incredibly inebriated. In the anime, Anak Jahad had these as a little kid.
- In Yokoka's Quest, Raya sports these on multiple occasions, with the first clear example being together with Puppy-Dog Eyes to maximize her cuteness, when convincing Kagi and Yfa to let her go and look for a mushroom with Yfa.
Western Animation
- Avatar: The Last Airbender actually used this in "The Desert" to show that the main cast were dehydrated.
- In The Crumpets, Ditzy and many of her background siblings, as well as Cassandra and the weather girl have permanent blush stickers.
- Recurring character Beth Ellen Hansen from Harriet the Spy has permanent blush stickers, highlighting her gentle and meek nature.
- Jones the Steam from Ivor the Engine has this, though it's unknown if it's suppose to make him cute or just highlights from his skin.
- Middlemost Post: Parker has permanent ones on his cheeks.
- Molang: Molang and his friend Piu Piu have these. They seem to be the sole members of the cast with them.
- Miss Naughty from The Mr. Men Show has these to make herself look cute despite her mischievous nature.
- My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic:
- Flattered or sheepish characters gets these. When they're embarrassed, a Luminescent Blush is more common.
- In "Gauntlet of Fire", Ember sports such stickers when Spike hugs her towards the end of the episode — through a faceful of dragon scales, no less.
- In "The Break Up Break Down", Skellinore — an NPC in an in-universe role-playing game — briefly sports two oval-shaped, pink blush spots on her "cheeks" when getting introduced to Big Mac... despite being an animated skeleton with no flesh, blood vessels or blood.
- In Star vs. the Forces of Evil, the female-line descendants of Mewni's royal family, the Butterfly dynasty, have these as an actual biological trait. Each one's blush stickers are of a unique shape, with protagonist Star Butterfly having pink hearts, though they can sometimes change into other shapes depending on her emotions. When a Butterfly "dips down" into their own personal magic reserve, rather than simply using a magic wand, the blush stickers develop a glow that can also surround their entire body depending on how much is channeled. Later on, it's explained that the blush stickers developed as a combined result of prolonged magic use and exposure: in one episode, Marco using the wand caused them to temporarily develop crescent-shaped stickers of their own.
- Teen Titans: Starfire gets these a lot, due to her general genkiness and the show's animesque nature.
- Fred Fredburger from The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy has one.
Other
- Because James McAvoy is a Pretty Boy, East Asian media occasionally adds onscreen blush stickers when he's being interviewed to increase his cuteness (or kawaii-ness, if you prefer).
- Cony, one of the mascot characters of the LINE company, has permanent blush stickers as part of her design.
- Cockatiels have naturally occurring orange spots on their cheeks that resemble blush stickers.
