The fifth of the Princess Maker games by Studio Gainax.
Unlike all the rest, this one takes place in modern Japan, albeit a Japan in a world where there are demons and fairies.
Also in other series firsts, the player is not automatically a father. If they so choose, they can be a mother. Lastly, this daughter has no Canon Name.
First released in Japan, in 2007, and Playstation 2 and Playstation Portable in 2008. An English release occurred on Steam translated by CFK Co., Ltd. in 2018.
Princess Maker 5 contains the following Tropes:
- Blush Sticker: Your daughter sports a pair of these. Oddly enough, there are times in which she actually blushes.
- Character Name Limits: 7 characters:
- Family name
- Parent's first name
- Daughter's first name
- Job title
- First Day of School Episode: The second day of the game. As Cube says to the daughter on the first day:Cube: So, you're finally
going to school tomorrow. - Hero Stage Show: You can take your daughter to see hero stage shows at the amusement park. This will increase her Otaku stat.
- Mood Whiplash: The opening sequence begins with images of war. ominous German opera plays as the title card Princess Maker 5 burns in flames. About 2 minutes in, we are greeted with the cutesy voice of the Daughter as she delivers the game's introduction in the future she finds herself in.
- Our Demons Are Different: Demons exist, as said in the game description on Steam.
- Our Fairies Are Different: Fairies exist, as said in the game description on Steam.
- Pointy Ears: Cube.
- Save-Game Limits: 16 save slots.
- Sweatdrop: Cube, when saying rephrasing his occupation:Hm, but in modern society,
calling it [Housekeeper] could be
more appropriate rather than [Butler]note - Third-Person Person: Cube, such as:Cube: This Cube will also serve as a [butler].
- Warrior Prince: Warrior Princess, actually. The Daughter becomes one in the True Princess ending where she personally defeats Alfort.
