    The Anime Movie

JP

Voiced by: Takuya Kimura (JP), Patrick Seitz (EN)

The main protagonist.

  • Ambiguously Human: Due to his pointed ears and the fact that he wasn't given the introduction of being from "that blue planet" like Miki and Todoroki, it's unknown if he's human or simply an alien that looks very human.
  • Captain Crash: Any car he steps in has a habit of violently exploding on the track. Except for the Yellowline finisher, he always miraculously survives unharmed (lampshaded too when he somehow crashes a test car in a desert).
  • Delinquent Hair: That pompadour sticks out a whole foot in front of his face.
  • Nice Guy: His black leather, punkish pompadour and other "road warrior" accessories might make one initially keep their distance, but he's easily one of the most amiable characters in the movie.

Sonoshee McLaren

Voiced by: Yu Aoi (JP), Michelle Ruff (EN)

The winner of the Yellowline race at the movie's onset. Develops a close bond with JP.

Frisbee

Voiced by: Tadanobu Asano (JP), Liam O'Brien (EN)

JP's childhood friend, who's tied to the mafia.

  • Facial Markings
  • Screw the Money, I Have Rules!: Frisbee eventually becomes this when he sees just how close JP is to winning Redline, alongside a combination of guilt for nearly trashing JP's hopes and dreams twice and Representative of the Inuki Group trying to alter the deal by having the Transam 'malfunction' before it reached first place.
"He's so close... I want to see him win, I want to see him win for once in his life!!"

Inuki Boss

Voiced by: Chō (JP), Alfred Thor (EN)

The head of the mafia that Frisbee works for.

  • Cool Car: His headquarters is a personal limousine the size of a small hotel. With full service bar and at least two floors.
  • The Don: He's the leader of a mob and won't hesitate to beat up or kill his underlings if they fail him.
  • Fantastic Drug: Both times he's seen, he's indulging in some kind of cocaine-like drug. It weirdly has to be applied to the outer gums for some reason; the first time he's doing it himself. The second time he has two ladies do it.
  • A Lady on Each Arm: During the Redline race, he is seen with two ladies behind him at all times. They even apply his drugs for him. They run off the moment the fighting starts.

Old Man Mole

Voiced by: Takeshi Aono (JP), Steve Kramer (EN)

The elderly mechanic that works on JP's machine.

Boiboi & Bosbos

Voiced by: Akane Sakai & AKEMI (Kobayashi Akemi) (JP), Lauren Landa & Laura Post (EN)

A pair of idols from Planet Supergrass racing in Redline.

Gori-Rider

Voiced by: Daisuke Gouri (JP), George C Cole (EN)

A brutal police officer racing in Redline.

  • The Brute: Both in his ride and his personality. He bull-charged Miki and Todoroki on what was implied to be a mere speeding violation and attacks two reporters on-camera. His ride, the Gori-Tank, is slower than the others but can dig through almost any material.
  • Dirty Cop: This is almost literally his racing name. On top of his Redline racing (which is of dubious legality already) he also assaulted Miki and Todoroki and locked them up just to make them miss the qualifying Yellowline Race. He's also apparently engaged in adultery, and when questioned about all of this he started beating up the reporters on camera.
  • Interspecies Romance: Even if Officer Yang isn't human, she's definitely not whatever species Gori-Rider is (who looks like a blue gorilla, hence the name).
  • One-Handed Shotgun Pump: Done while chasing Miki and Todoroki in a homage to the Terminator films.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Awakens Funky Boy while trying to avoid a minefield by digging underneath it.

Miki & Todoroki

Voiced by: Shunichiro Miki & Ikki Todoroki (JP), Sam Riegel & Cutter Garcia (EN)

Japanese brothers racing in Redline thanks to a popularity vote, as an untimely arrest from Gori-Rider had them miss a Yellowline qualifier. Originally from Mole Brothers.

Trava

Voiced by: Kanji Tsuda (JP), Joey Morris (EN)

A Redline racer that originally appeared in Trava First Planet.

Shinkai

Voiced by: Yoshiyuki Morishita (JP), Tony Oliver (EN)

Trava's partner, also from Trava First Planet.

Machine Head

Voiced by: Kōji Ishii (JP), Michael McConnohie (EN)

A champion racer competing in Redline.

  • Final Boss: Ultimately, Machine Head is the one to beat in the race.
  • Graceful Loser: For all his raw, bestial fury during the race, he can only admire JP's valor afterwards and doesn't dispute his victory, despite how close it was.
  • Worthy Opponent: Having won multiple Redlines with little resistance, he seeks one of these, eventually finding one in JP.

Lynchman & Johnny Boy

Voiced by: Tatsuya Gashuin & Yoshinori Okada (JP), John White & David Roach (EN)

A pair of intergalactic bounty hunters racing in Redline.

Roboworld President

Voiced by: Kōsei Hirota (JP), David Lodge (EN)

The leader of Roboworld.

Colonel Volton

Voiced by: Unshō Ishizuka (JP), Jamieson Price (EN)

The leader of Roboworld's military forces.

  • Colonel Badass: Commands his own special forces, has the authority to mobilize the planet's entire military force, and even turn into a monster capable of matching Funky Boy.
  • Commissar Cap: Appropriately enough for a man of his station, Colonel Volton's helmet resembles one of these.
  • The Dragon: Volton is actually this to the Roboworld President, being in control of nearly all military operations against the Redline racers.
  • Large Ham: And he's voiced by the largest ham of voice actors: Jamieson Price.
  • One-Winged Angel: Colonel Volton, who transforms himself into a Kaiju-like monstrosity in order to fight evenly with Funky Boy.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Colonel Volton starts feeling this way when his own personal forces get their asses handed by the racers and when his three direct subordinates, especially Little Deyzuna and Dr. Sabose, stray from their objective.

Secretary of Defense Titan

Voiced by: Kenyuu Horiuchi (JP), Doug Erholtz (EN)

The man in charge of Roboworld's security.

Little Deyzuna

Voiced by: Kenta Miyake (JP), Derek Stephen Prince (EN)

A member of Roboworld's army with a grudge against Trava & Shinkai.

Funky Boy

A biological weapon created on Roboworld.

The Company

  • Law Enforcement, Inc.: The Company are a gang of self-styled mercenaries and ex-military types who have protection contracts with various Outsider settlements. Stadium City hadn't been able to make payment as of late, hence their being open to a Red Sixer assault.
  • Red Shirt Army: The Company, though not plot-wise. They are this in-game due to Artificial Stupidity.

The Red Sixers

The Leper Gang

  • Cyborg: The Leper Gang use cybernetics to compensate for lost limbs.
