It's always possible to find new tropes in a completed work. Deleting the commented-out ZCEs might be the best first step, though I question whether Unpublished Works pages need recap folders...

Hey guys. I went to add a wick to The Problem with Licensed Games and saw a warning about the page being too long. Should we perhaps split the page by medium?

There is a pretty wide variation to how many examples there are per medium. It might make sense to just pull off the largest folder or two? Right now, I think that would be Film - Live Action/ (which is really not that surprising.)

Re: The Spectacular Gargoyles. Wingedcatgirl questions the recap folders. Upon another viewing, I question the character folders. The tropes appear mostly to be things they did in canon, not unique to the RP.

Ex:

Leader of the Manhattan Clan. Goliath was chosen by the leaders of the London, Mayan and Ishimura clans to act as overall Leader of the newly formed Gargoyle Nation.

Isn't Memes.Donald Trump PRLC'd? I don't think a separate (unlocked, anyway) Trump page is something we can risk, especially since he was acquitted and can run in 2024.

I assume you mean the folder "2017–2021 (Trump Era)", rather than Trump himself in general? Makes sense: it's the longest folder, and that era is over, so if any new Trump memes pop up they'd go in a different section.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED has the banner.

Problem. The Spectacular Gargoyles is still too long after deleting the recap. I'm getting rid of the character section. An unpublished work is not worth breaking the server over.

Left a note on the discussion page for Sentinels of the Multiverse — Heroes.

While changing wicks, I saw that Azur Lane Eagle Union, Troper Entries: A-M, and Troper Entries: N-Z were giving the "too long" error message.

I broke them up into more manageable chunks.

I've made enough of a dent in TropesThatWillNeverHappen.X Meets Y that it's no longer showing the Too Long message. I really shouldn't have went with "broken up by first letter of entry/thread" — This is going to take awhile even though I'm not bothering to alphabetize anything.

(I did alphabetize SuspiciouslySimilarSong.Video Games, and let me say that fucking suuuuuucked.)

Otherwise, I've finished clearing out the entries on Administrivia.Overly Long Pages to the best of my ability, and that Sonic Sandbox up there.

WMG.Harry Potter Main is still on Administrivia.Locked Pages citing it being too large to edit, even though that is no longer the case.

Anime & Manga and Western Animation are so long that the editor lags when you try to edit them.

The former could be splitted into Anime And Manga North America and Anime And Manga Not American TV, don't know the latter.

The best character is always the one-shot disguise.

Oh boy. If you're willing to alphabetize the real life examples folder, then maybe the page can be broken into Western Animation A-L, M-Z while the in-universe examples stay on the page and go under the "index".

For GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff.Western Animation, I would prefer the split be by Children's Animation, Youth Animation, and Adult Animation based on the original target demographic of the country of origin. MLP: FiM (Canadian based on American IP with an American creator) would be considered Children's Animation (despite Bronies) and Simpsons (American (creator is a son of a Canadian)) would be considered Adult Animation (despite being rated PG and winning the Nick Kids' Choice Awards once). I would consider Avatar: The Last Airbender (American but inspired by anime) Youth Animation.

I can start on alphabetizing when I get off work this evening. That strikes me as the best way to do these things, since the target audience is a nebulous thing

That would actually be a better idea.

Alphabetizing is much less subjective, especially if we stick to the titles in the original language and region.

Well, I did the best I could with both pages. (Yes, I did sleep as well. >:P)

As far as what I alphabetized by, in practice I usually did it by the original series unless there was a separate page for the Bowdlerized version. That's why Battle of the Planets is under B, but Knights of the Zodiac is under its original title Saint Seiya.

The Hasselhoff page is just straight-up alphabetized.

I split off any series with ridiculously long entries to their own pages.

On Bowdlerize, I wasn't sure how to handle the series that have two entries talking about different things. Maybe I'll look again after I clear my head, but I'm not exactly sure what the best way of handling that is.

I'm sure I wasn't 100% consistent
