  • Mafuyu was The Ace of her school; she's kind, reliable, smart and athletic, looked up by pretty much everyone in her school and the pride and joy of her parents as the "perfect girl". However, because she spends so much time fulfilling everyone's expectations of her, Mafuyu eventually lost her sense of self and identity, no longer knowing who she is, what she likes or what she really wants to do, especially after she abandoned her original dream of becoming a nurse because her parents wanted her to become a doctor instead. Maintaining her honor student/perfect girl persona even as she became horribly depressed, Mafuyu eventually manifested the Empty SEKAI, a Mental World that represents the sheer emptiness and loneliness that she felt. While she managed to hold on for a while thanks to joining a music circle and a version of Hatsune Miku that exist in her SEKAI - who acts as Mafuyu's confidant and Living Emotional Crutch - eventually her failure in finding herself became too much, and Mafuyu decides that it'd be better for her to "disappear", kickstarting a series of events that led Miku to enlist her circle's help to convince Mafuyu to try looking for herself just a little bit longer. Even now, Mafuyu is still looking to find the self that she had lost with the help and company of her friends.
    • A big part of why Mafuyu felt so lost and alone was because of her mother. Miss Asahina is, at first glance, a kind and supportive mother to her daughter, if a bit more academically-minded; one could argue that her insistence for Mafuyu to become a doctor was out of concern for Mafuyu's future, and Mafuyu herself believes this to be the case. However, whenever Mafuyu tries to do something that her mother doesn't approve, such as doing music, Miss Asahina would use subtle emotional manipulation tactics to dissuade Mafuyu from doing so, which conditioned Mafuyu to be absolutely obedient to her mother as her mother's love is only given if Mafuyu follows her wishes, all while having her personal opinions and hobbies that her mother doesn't approve of squashed. Despite this, Mafuyu genuinely loves her mother and tries her best to make her happy, and it took a lot of escalation from her mother and Character Development on her part before Mafuyu finally musters the courage to talk with her mother and confesses just how much she'd been suffering in trying to please her. When her mother failed to understand her even after that, Mafuyu finally ran away from home to live with Kanade; even now, Mafuyu still feels conflicted about her mother, feeling a mixture of love, fear and guilt towards her. Mafuyu's situation shows that abuse doesn't have to be physical to leave a lasting mark, and that emotional abuse and manipulation can be frighteningly hard to even identify in the first place.
  • It was a normal day in the House of Music when Hatsune Miku suddenly felt a faint presence calling out to her. Curious with the somewhat familiar presence, the virtual diva proceeds to look for the source, eventually arriving at an empty temple in the House of Mentalism. When she stepped in, however, she was teleported into an empty world with but a single inhabitant; recognizing her as one of the children a version of her was looking after in another world, Miku proceeds to greet and explain to a confused Mafuyu that she has ascended into Trope Pantheons as a goddess representing Loss of Identity. She takes the news with her usual nearly-emotionless "I see", as while the fact that none of her friends has ascended yet brought her mood down a bit, it's counter-balanced by Miku being there (and now not confined to the SEKAI anymore) and how she could spend more time trying to find herself in the Pantheon. As such, Mafuyu now often spends her time wandering around the Pantheon, visiting numerous houses and meeting with many different gods in the hope of eventually finding the self that she had lost.
    • As expected, Mafuyu spends a lot of time with Miku, with each taking turns in visiting the other's house to either have tea parties, sing together, or just spend some time in each other's company. Whenever such occasions happened, the virtual diva will take a form that Mafuyu is familiar with, which surprised some deities because of how different she looks from her usual appearance. However, despite looking like a cold Emotionless Girl, Miku in this form is extremely innocent, kind and caring, acting more like a little sister to Mafuyu and giving her a much-needed company and comfort. Most of their time together occurs away from prying eyes, as Mafuyu dislikes crowds, noises and attention in general and tries to avoid them whenever she could. They sometimes even sleep together, since Mafuyu could sleep better with Miku by her side.
    • When Kanade ascends to the pantheon shortly after, Mafuyu was there to greet her alongside Miku, where she gives the composer her rare, genuine smile. The two quickly resume their activities of making songs (with Kanade composing the song and Mafuyu writing the lyrics) and living together, alternating between the Empty SEKAI and Kanade's temple, with Miku joining in every now and then. However, while Mafuyu usually roams the Pantheon before she returns at night time, Kanade more often than not stays in her temple or Empty SEKAI; as a result, Mafuyu sometimes drags Kanade along so the composer could either get some much-needed workout, a healthier meal than her usual cup noodles, or meet new people.
  • Mafuyu's temple, at first glance, seems to be a completely normal and ordinary bedroom, with nothing that might give any indication to her hobbies, likes and dislikes; the only item of interest that doesn't belong in a normal bedroom is an empty aquarium placed on one of the tables. However, those whom Mafuyu personally invited or gods with certain abilities might enter her true residence: the Empty SEKAI, a separate space born from her feelings of emptiness and loneliness. Because the only feature of the SEKAI is its emptiness, there is no beginning or end, and the space stretches on to infinity. She only let very few gods to enter the SEKAI, and even fewer is given the means to enter and leave at will, but for those who could do so without her permission, she usually doesn't raise a fuss as long as they don't bother her because the SEKAI is so big.
    • While originally her control over the Empty SEKAI is more subconscious - with Miku holding a more conscious control over it - after her ascension, Mafuyu now has complete control over her SEKAI, making her quite powerful in it. She can, for example, banish any uninvited guests with a touch, and the space itself is hers to bend as she sees fit. Similarly, while she originally has to play "Composing the Future" on her phone in order to enter the SEKAI and stop playing it in order to leave, Mafuyu could now enter and exit her SEKAI at will without the need for her phone whatsoever. She can also send the song to gods that she trusted so they could enter and leave the SEKAI without her permission, the amount of which could be counted on one hand.
  • To most of the Pantheon, Mafuyu appears to be a kind, cheerful and humble highschool girl who's always willing to lend an ear or offer some help and advice whenever she's asked with a smile, which made her quite popular among gods who are younger or around her age. However, this is nothing more than a mask; the real Mafuyu is near-emotionless, quite insensitive to other people's feelings and is brutally honest, and the difference is so drastic that those who catch a glimpse of the real her either dismiss it or has trouble recognizing her as the Mafuyu that they knew, though because her mask is incredibly good, most gods remains unaware of her true self.
  • While the real Mafuyu deep down hates following the expectations placed on her shoulders, caring for other people seems to be one of the few things that she genuinely enjoys, even if she'd forgotten her original dream of becoming a nurse. As such, she always willingly offers her help when she sees someone hurt or in pain, either taking care of them herself if the injury is minor enough or to assist the gods in the House of Health and Disease in taking care of the patients. As a result, Mafuyu became somewhat of a regular in the hospital, becoming familiar with many of the gods there.
    • Eventually, Florence Nightingale asks her whether she wants to become an official assistant nurse in the hospital due to her regular visits and frequency in offering her aid; Mafuyu was unsure, not only because she was merely a student, but also because her mother wanted her to be a doctor. Nightingale then told her that her parents similarly didn't approve of her to be a nurse, yet she did it anyway and never regretted it; while she wouldn't force Mafuyu if she doesn't want to, she had seen that Mafuyu is not only dedicated, but also seems to enjoy taking care of the patients there, and as such advises her to follow her heart. Mafuyu would ruminate on the nurse's offer for a while, seeking Kanade and Miku's counsel on the matter before eventually deciding to accept the offer. Since then, Mafuyu would always dedicate at least three days out of a week to help out at the hospital, unknowingly recovering a bit of her identity and living out her forgotten childhood dream.
  • Tried to visit the House of Nature (water) to see if it’d have the same calming effect as watching an empty aquarium. Needless to say, it does not.
  • Sometimes visit the House of Weapons to practice archery, saying that it helps to calm her mind. She's really good at it too, having never missed a target, and one day EMIYA noticed her during practice; her empty eyes reminds him of his younger years as they both are fundamentally broken people which helped them to excel at archery. While he doesn't know what her circumstances is, EMIYA would sometimes help her by interrupting someone asking for her help when she's clearly spent and saying that she has archery practice with him, and the two sometimes practice together in silence, with EMIYA only giving her pointers and advice when asked; Mafuyu herself is grateful for his company.
  • She has a reputation in the House of Food for not being a picky eater and being able to seemingly enjoy whatever food is given to her, even the bad and spicy ones, and whenever someone offers her a new food to try, she never turns them down. This culminates in her finding the feared Mystery Food X with a note attached saying that it is for her, with many watching with bated breath as Mafuyu tried it... and finished it without problem, much to the amazement of the crowd. They gave her the Omega version the next time she visited, thinking that she might join the ranks of the very few who could stomach such a monstrosity, but unfortunately she passed out after trying it; After all, while Mafuyu had lost her sense of taste and thus able to eat most food without problem, she unfortunately doesn't have any poison immunity, which made the Omega version a bit too much for her to handle. Mafuyu seems to not mind the experience though, secretly glad that she's able to remember how it feels to actually dislike food.
  • At one point, Mafuyu wanders into the Hall of Ghosts when Danny Phantom and Casper were out, getting lost in the process. Hisako, seeing her lost, offers to guide her back to the exit, and to her surprise Mafuyu wasn't scared of her at all, even thanking her for the offer and complimenting her kindness. After guiding Mafuyu back to the entrance (and fending off Gengar and Peeves), the two strikes an Odd Friendship, with Mafuyu occasionally visiting the Hall of Ghosts to keep Hisako company, and Casper seems happy that Hisako had made a new friend. On the other hand, evil ghosts like King Boo are frustrated by her because they cannot scare her at all.
  • Became friends with Madotsuki after hearing about her dream world and how it seems to be somewhat similar to the concept of SEKAI. Sometimes Madotsuki came to visit the Empty SEKAI and they sit in silence together, sometimes Mafuyu came to explore Madotsuki's dreams, and sometimes they explore together; they didn't talk much, but perhaps because they've both seen the world that reflect the other's heart, there is a mutual understanding and respect between the two without needing to talk.
  • Mafuyu has a fear of marionettes, and seeing one is enough to trigger a panic attack; this is because she subconsciously equates her relationship with her mother as a marionette and a puppeteer - after all, a marionette has no wants or desire of its own but to be strung along by the puppeteer to do whatever it wants - and she really, really dislike seeing something that could remind her of that fact. Naturally, when she heard that both Carl and Relius Clover not only uses a marionette, but said marionettes are made from the daughter and mother of the Clover family, Mafuyu was traumatized, retreating to the Empty SEKAI and remaining there for a few days. It was the first time that Kanade and Miku had seen Mafuyu so utterly scared, and when Mafuyu begs them not to leave her alone, they both proceed to stay with her until she managed to calm down.
  • During one of her time relaxing with Kanade and Miku in the Empty SEKAI, a group of gods unexpectedly managed to find their way in without being invited - the infamous Phantom Thieves of Hearts, who mistook her SEKAI for a Palace. While Mafuyu doesn't mind the occasional stray god wandering in every now and then, having a group of them just popping in uninvited - and openly discussing whether she's in need of a change of heart - annoys her, promptly asking the thieves to leave before she forcibly ejects them out. The thieves agreed, but unfortunately her behavior reminds them of a defensive Palace ruler, making them approach Miku and Kanade outside of the SEKAI to gather more information on Mafuyu. Thankfully, the thieves eventually realize that a SEKAI is different from a Palace after Miku and Kanade explains the concept to them - even if there are some similarities - and they decided to leave Mafuyu be, especially because her case reminds them of Futaba's, and Futaba herself insists that it is something that Mafuyu has to face on her own. Mafuyu herself prefers to avoid the thieves if possible, though she remains cordial and polite if they do cross paths.
  • Has a complicated feelings on the House of Family. On one hand, she's quite curious to meet the gods that exemplified a good family; on the other, the fact that there are gods who embodies the darker aspects of family scares her. This is because she holds a very conflicting view on her own mother, genuinely loving her while fearing her at the same time; as such, Mafuyu usually avoids the House and its gods.
  • Junko Enoshima, intrigued by Mafuyu supposedly losing her emotions and identity yet noticing how she avoids the House of Family, decided to try to make her fall to despair by sending her a message claiming to be from her mother. She laughed like hell after seeing Mafuyu had a panic attack from a mere text, tormenting her further by calling her and pretending to be her mother because their voices are uncanningly similar, until she was driven off by a passing by Hajime Hinata. It doesn't stop there though; Junko spreads this fact throughout the Pantheon in order to torture Mafuyu even further, as she would deny all the accusations and defend her mother despite knowing that her Loss of Identity was primarily caused by Miss Asahina. If there is one silver lining, it’s that some of the more caring deities took notice of Mafuyu’s problems and starts to give her some genuine love and affection that she desperately craves.
  • Surprisingly, it was not a god from the House of Family that ended up unofficially adopting Mafuyu, but rather one Fate Testarossa Harlaown, the Goddess of Saddened Magical Girls. Fate seems particularly invested in helping Mafuyu and being a maternal figure to her, as Fate understands the feeling of loving one's mother despite all the abuse that said mother had given all too well; she hopes to teach Mafuyu that she could still love her mother while acknowledging that her mother's actions had been hurtful, as trying to deny either of her feelings would prevent her from facing the truth and eventually moving on. Mafuyu for her part doesn't understand why Fate took the time to do this for her, but she doesn't dislike the warmth that she felt in her chest whenever she spends some time with the blonde mage; as such, Fate became the first god (aside from Kanade) that she entrusted with Composing the Future, giving her free access to enter and leave the Empty SEKAI wherever and whenever she wishes.
  • Hajime Hinata pities her because while she's blessed by immense talent to learn anything extremely quickly and is good at practically everything, it only brought her untold expectations that she must fulfill, making her empty and lonely not unlike Izuru.
  • After the incident with Junko, The Investigation Team took an interest in her after hearing of her circumstances, offering Mafuyu the chance to face her own shadow. Mafuyu knew that they meant well, but nevertheless decline their offer as she knew that she's not yet ready, promising to contact the team should she feel that she's ready to do so; however, just like with the Phantom Thieves, Mafuyu chooses to avoid them whenever possible, feeling uncomfortable with having strangers knowing about her deepest fears and insecurities.
  • She gets acquainted with μ's after they asked Kanade to help them compose a new song for them, with Mafuyu naturally writing the lyrics of the song. Due to how different the tone of the song μ's requested from Kanade's usual songs, Mafuyu has to interact with the group's lyricist, Maki, and learn just what μ's is trying to convey through their song and performance. She was surprised to learn that like her, Maki was expected to become a doctor, yet chose to pursue music instead; perhaps due to their similarity, Mafuyu quietly confesses that her own mother expected the same of her, and yet unlike Maki she's unsure whether music is truly something she enjoys, or if she's merely using it as a means to find her true self. Mafuyu didn't elaborate more than that, and Maki didn't pry, but as they interact more - and after the incident with Junko - the idol could see that Mafuyu is akin to a dark reflection of herself. Maki then decided to try helping her by writing a song for Mafuyu, and the rest of μ's, while not knowing the full context, supports Maki's decision; the ensuing performance managed to touch Mafuyu's heart, resulting in her thanking μ's - and especially Maki - with her rare, genuine smile. The two became close friends since then, with Mafuyu dropping her mask whenever they're alone, and Maki was given Composing the Future as a sign of her trust, becoming the second person to receive it after Fate.

    Kanade Yoisaki

  • Kanade is a girl with a tragic past; she lost her mother when she was little, forcing her father to both take care of her and work as a single parent. Kanade's father was a composer that fell on hard times because his style is outdated, and work offers steadily became rarer and rarer as he struggled to catch up with the times; Kanade, seeing her father so stressed, composed a song just for him in an effort to cheer him up. When her father asked her how she composed the song, Kanade replied that she's just trying things out, and that it must have been not that good - unaware that this single piece had surpassed everything her father had ever worked on - and seeing how talented his daughter is, her father praised her, saying that her songs can make people happy and that she should continue to do so, before collapsing from all the mental stress the next day, falling into a coma. A grief-stricken Kanade then found her father's diary, and realizing that what she had done is what pushes her father over the edge, Kanade fell into despair and tried to starve herself to death before remembering her father's last words for her: to continue composing songs that can make people happy. Now alone and having lost everything she held dear, composing songs became the only reason Kanade keep on living; she dropped out of school, became a Hikkikomori, and devoted her life to composing songs that could "save" other people, both as a form of atonement and as a way to cope with her life.
    • Eventually, she founded a music circle called Nightcord at 25:00 with Mafuyu, with her as the composer and Mafuyu as the lyricist, with two other members eventually joining in as well. This connection culminates in Miku asking for her help to "save" Mafuyu when the latter finally had enough of living, and in doing so, Kanade gained a new, more concrete purpose: to "save" Mafuyu through her songs. As long as Mafuyu has yet to find herself, then Kanade will keep on composing; similarly as long as Kanade is composing a song to "save" her, then Mafuyu can keep on looking to find herself. As time goes on, what started as a mere codependency turned into something more genuine as they spend more time with each other, and Kanade would later realize that she not only wants to "save" Mafuyu, she also wants her to genuinely smile, to feel the same warmth that she felt back when her parents were alive and well. Kanade would eventually become the main source of genuine, unconditional love for Mafuyu - someone who is always there for her and supports her without expecting anything in return - and it was this epiphany that eventually made Mafuyu ran away from home to Kanade's place after her talk with her mother ended disastrously. Kanade welcomed her to her home, and the two had been living together ever since.
  • One day, new songs began to pop out in Pantheon's internet every week without fail, its author only known by their pseudonym "K". The songs are melancholic and somber, yet contains a sliver of hope and determination that inspires and moved the heart of many who listened to them. Mafuyu Asahina, recognizing the author, asks Miku's help in looking for her, knowing well that it won't be easy as she knew that "K" is a Hikkikomori. After scouring countless houses, Mafuyu finally found a new temple in the House of Workmanship, and inside is indeed the "K" that she knew: Kanade Yoisaki, who, despite being surprised because she's suddenly transported to an unknown place, didn't waste any time in continuing to compose songs that could "save" someone. Kanade was happy to see Mafuyu and Miku again, and accepts her ascension as a goddess representing Cope by Creating easily enough. Soon, she fell back into a familiar routine with Mafuyu, making songs while living together; not only to "save" people, but to continue helping Mafuyu regain the self that she had lost, as Kanade has every intention to fulfill her promise to Mafuyu.
  • Kanade's temple resembles her own house before her ascension: a big part of the temple is a dark room lit only by computer monitors, with an unmade bed and multiple cardboard boxes, music sheets, and empty cup noodles scattered all around the room; this is where Kanade spends most of her time, composing songs through a synthesizer and a multi-monitor PC. Aside from that, her temple also has a small yet homely kitchen and dining area, which in contrast with her room is always gently illuminated by a warm light; this is where Kanade relax when she takes a rare break from composing, either drinking tea, enjoying some snacks, or having a proper meal. Unfortunately, this usually only happens when someone else reminds her to (which in the Pantheon tends to be Mafuyu), as otherwise Kanade only ever use the area to make some cup noodles before retreating back to her room.
  • Kanade is a rather quiet and subdued goddess, often keeping to herself and rarely initiating a conversation with strangers; to her friends, however, Kanade is sweet, devoted and loyal, capable of weathering through their outbursts and anger with seemingly infinite patience while giving them praises and love in return. Kanade is also very empathetic, always treating others with kindness and trying her hardest to see the best in people no matter who they are, and she tends to be drawn to people who needs help. Unlike Mafuyu, however, who offers her help for those suffering from a physical ailment, Kanade tends to be there for those who are suffering mentally through her songs; it's often those who are suffering from loneliness and tethering at the edge that find Kanade's songs to be profound, something that let them know that they are not alone in their suffering and helps to motivate them to keep on living. This makes her quite beloved by those who met and knew her personally, as it's difficult to dislike someone who so wholeheartedly devotes herself for the sake of others' happiness.
  • Kanade is an extremely talented composer said to be "loved by music", having the ability to play an instrument just by looking and listening to someone playing it; however, Kanade remains humble despite this gift, often listening to all kind of songs and music to broaden her horizons and appreciate them, and she doesn't mind helping those who come to her for help by giving them pointers. As such, she is greatly popular in the House of Musicality, and she was offered many collaboration with some of the Pantheon's most popular bands and idols; in fact, this is how she gets acquainted with μ's.
  • One of the few gods who are worse than Lelouch in physical activities, though justified in her case since Kanade is a Hikkikomori who's also malnourished from her unbalanced diet.
  • Bonds with both Chiakis. She bonds with human Chiaki because they're both quiet and introverted girls who felt trapped by their talent, yet ended up becoming the leader for their respective group and bringing hope to an extremely talented friend who became lost and empty from all the talent and expectations placed on their shoulders. Meanwhile, AI Chiaki reminds her of Miku, a seemingly Emotionless Girl who is actually very caring and is loved by everyone in the group. They play games together sometimes, even though Kanade often focuses more on listening to the game's OST rather than focusing on playing it despite her best efforts; thankfully, both Chiakis doesn't seem to mind, seeing it as just another way for someone to enjoy games. However, Kanade avoids Ring Fit Adventure like a plague after Chiaki's attempt to help Kanade exercise with the game ends in spectacular failure.
  • In an attempt to improve Kanade's diet, Mafuyu sometimes took her around to try various restaurants in the Pantheon, and her attempts finally bore fruit when the two found Min Min's ramen shop; not only does Kanade enjoy the ramen, she also meets and bond with Naruto Uzumaki for their shared love of the dish. However, the ninja becomes quite concerned when he heard that Kanade's diet is solely comprised of cup ramen, and Min Min suggests for Kanade to have some food delivered from different restaurants to have a better diet, suggesting Cafe LeBlanc to start with their curry. Thanks to the suggestion, Kanade now sometimes have actual food delivered to her temple; it's a toss between Mafuyu bringing her some, concerned restaurants owner delivering it to her (with Naruto volunteering to deliver them sometimes), or Kanade actually remembering to order some.
  • Very patient and understanding, and is not one to easily anger; more than anything, Kanade is more likely to be angry at herself rather than at other people, and she always tries her utmost to see the best in people, even those with a terrible reputation. However, nothing pisses her off more than Abusive Parents.(Entry on Silk Hiding Steel, meeting Ghetsis or relius)
  • Shirou Emiya found Kanade to be a kindred spirit with similar tendencies of helping others first at the cost of her own.
  • Despite being a hikkikomori who doesn't really care about her appearance, gods from the house of appearance often tries to accost her, either to doll her up because her usual wardrobe of jerseys and shorts are atrocious for someone of her looks, or to offer her to become a model thanks to her cute looks and beautiful long hair. While Kanade isn't interested and usually tries to avoid them, sometimes she gets caught and... persuaded to try to dress up and take care of herself better. The result is nothing short of stunning (insert link to some of Kanade's cards here, like her wedding one).
  • Unfortunately, Kanade has little to no love left for herself because she feels like she doesn't deserve to be happy after what happened to her father. She'd often neglects her health and needs as long as she can "save" others and make them happy, to the point that her friends need to remind her to take care of herself more; it took a long time before Kanade finally realized that her friends wants to see her happy too - that she deserves the same love and care that she had given so selflessly to others - and finally start to come to terms with her past. (Make this realization came from another god)

  • Former holder of The Power of Friendship, Nanoha was given her new title for the fact her series has eclipse in popularity in comparison to her brother's. As for her position in the Friendship Trio, she passed it over to Tokugawa Ieyasu.
  • Fought Fate…and ''won''. They now share a bed, but they're just friends. Really. Or if it's more, it's nobody else's business and they're not gonna talk about it.
  • Its generally agreed that harming Vivio in anyway is consider a very bad idea. Yeah, she knows how to take care of herself, but most baddies wouldn't want to mess with Nanoha in Mama Bear mode.
  • Has been seen with Evangeline A.K. McDowell near closed space, which they call "Improved training area under construction". A lot of the deities are quite worried about this development, but some willing ones are competing over who gets to try it out first.
  • Gets on very well with Goku, Naruto, and Touma due to their shared traits of open-minded kindness, protectiveness of their allies and friends, desire for peace, habit of redeeming lost souls and making friends of former foes, and other similarities. This friendship extends to them helping each other train (though Touma's Imagine Breaker often keeps him out of it), which spooks several evil deities; the thought of the infamous "White Devil" having access to anything from Instant Transmission, Kamehameha, and Rasengan, to Sage Mode or the Spirit Bomb, is a frightening one.
    • On that note, she watched Goku and friends' performance in the Tournament of Power keenly, paying closer attention to Androids 17 and 18 once they began taking on a group of magical girls. Aside from the fact that they embraced truth and love more than the Maiden Squadron themselves and it was a love-inspired burst of power that enabled 18 to knock out Ribrianne, there's also the part where 17 detonated himself to give Goku a moment to heal against their final opponent. Grateful and impressed, she embraced the twins the moment she saw them back in the Pantheon after the tournament.
  • In this aspect, she has been courted by Twilight Sparkle, who also understands the principle of magic through friendship. For intellectual discourse, of course.
  • Shares the nickname "White Devil" with Amuro Ray, whom Nanoha respected as her senior. The two often teamed up for thwarting threats big and small.
  • Bonded with Lambda-11 after realizing she reminded her in many ways of Fate. One befriending session later, and the two of them began to hang out. It's been working as far as she can tell, though she is slightly disturbed by the fact that Lambda sounds so much like her underneath her usual voice.
    • After the dark fate that befell [[Pantheon/Ambiguity Ragna happened, Nanoha is literally one of the only things keeping Lambda from going down the same path as Kokonoe on Nu-13. However, she has also promised the Murakumo to help her when the time comes, because that's what friends do.
  • Has become quite close to Sunset Shimmer, a mutual friend of Twilight who was befriended through the concept of Friendship Through Superior Firepower. While Sunset is impressed with Nanoha, who was one of the ones who helped Twilight learn this lesson, she still gets a little anixous while being around her: She prefers words, as Nanoha's methods sting.
  • It was in her capacity as part of the Trio of Friendship that she reached out to Homura, now known as Homucifer due to the Great Upheaval. She spoke of her own friendship with Madoka and how they could protect her together. The reply was "I am a demon. Demons...have no friends." ...The pain and sorrow that was plainly evident in Homura's eyes and voice have only convinced Nanoha even further that the girl can still be saved.
    • She is also one of the few within the Sisterhood that knows that Master Chief's actions are ultimately intended to help them, as he works to slowly and carefully draw Homura out of her darkness and self-loathing. "Be there for her to help pull her back from that dark place".
  • Was a bit disturbed when she first met Nui Harime. Not only did the two sounded the same, but she use that to get too close to Vivio. That earned her a Starlight Breaker. She keeping a very watchful eye on her.
  • Is very good friends with Usagi Tsukino. Not only are they both powerful magical girls who believe in the power of friendship/love, but Usagi was also a character from a more popular spin off.
  • In addition to her idealization of friendship and skill at discerning people's motives and natures, Nanoha also possesses surprisingly powerful maternal instincts, a quality shared by her "partner" Fate. The two of them, in addition to fawning over their own adoptive/surrogate children (Erio, Caro, and Vivio), also like to look after and take care of some of the other child members of the Pantheon, particularly those who have no-one else and/or have suffered traumatic pasts. Currently, they are looking after Negi Springfield, cheerfully 'mothering' him even as they help him & his Ministrae train; in addition, Nanoha may be getting close to discovering Evangeline's "secret room" and the meanings of it (see Eva's entry for details).
  • Nanoha realized how hurt and fragile Asuka was deep-down, and after Arael's Mind Rape, she approached Asuka, insisting on being her friend. As always, Asuka got scared and tried to push the magical girl away, but Nanoha would not take "no" for an answer and she was so damned persistent the mecha pilot finally relented. When Asuka realized Nanoha knew her real self and wanted sincerely to befriend her despite everything, Asuka cried out. They have been friends since then.
  • Nanoha declares Micolash, Host of the Nightmare, as her enemy after almost making her friend, Yuuno, went mad. She still wants to make him realizes his mistakes and perhaps becoming her friend, though Nanoha wonders how she will do that with someone as fucking insane as Micolash. She doubts her usual tactics would work.
