Quill Society

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_ab5629870992adbe0fdf036380f1ae19_cb418720_640.jpg
(Aside from OMT!Tails and EX!Alice, all present characters are part of the Quill Society)
A multiversal agency of heroes tasked with protecting the very fabric of the Sonic multiverse and further SEGA multiverse.

Following a certain event from Dimension EV-2019 (the Cosmic Retcon of the Errorverse), EV!Sonic formed this mass team alongside Tekno the Canary, not only to help protect the multiverse from harm, but also to serve as a support network for any heroes that may need it. It's currently unknown how many members the Society has, but it likely stands in the hundreds.

However, there are a small number of bad apples mixed in the team that ends up causing chaos soon enough...

    open/close all folders
    General
  • Adaptational Heroism: Drastically so compared to the Spider-Society. There are only FOUR members trying to instigate negative “canon events” (these being Lost Memory Sonic, Turbo, Fiona and Metallix), and every other member’s focus is to do the right thing for those around them, which includes making preventing deaths from knowingly happening a top priority.
  • Alliance of Alternates: Like the Spider-Society, this is even more so than the Blur Gang, with tons, possibly hundreds, of heroes from across the multiverse making up the Society. It’s also clear that, while the Society does give roles for many different people, several of the key players are versions of Sonic himself, as OMT!Mina, at one point, says hello to two groups of Sonics.
  • The Cameo: Various characters present in the Quill Society are a mix of Ascended Glitches (Bluckles and Ashura), Original Characters (such as the Author Avatars of NightAkio (alongside his girlfriend), SunFIRE and Creamy), and characters from fan games and ROM hacks (like Gerem and Yeth).
  • In Spite of a Nail: The rogue members of the Society believe in “canon events”, moments that seem to define the life of a Sonic hero and give them their connections across the SEGAVerse. While not all of these events are gonna happen to every hero, Lost Memory Sonic has a firm belief that if one does start to occur, it must happen lest it causes a reality collapse. The canon events brought up are:
    • In the case of any Sonic, acquiring the super-speed in any form, be it coming naturally to them or being granted to them in an accident.
    • For any hero that is not Sonic, meeting the blue blur for themselves and taking it in stride to aspire to make them proud.
    • An iconic kiss with a love interest (should the hero have any; if not, this event doesn’t apply).
    • Encountering a Sonic.exe in any shape or form and/or letting said EXE cause some temporary rampage to the specific world. This one didn’t sit well for those who never even encountered such entities (like LEGO Sonic or Blitz!Tails), those who are/have been an EXE themselves (Sarah, Sunky and RAW), and those that have bonded with at least one EXE as a friend or loved one (like EV!Sonic and Milly).
    • Sonics getting their iconic fear of water in some shape or form.
    • A Sonic or Tails having their Love Interests limited because of various cases of love not ending well for them in parts of the multiverse.
    • Maria Robotnik and Cosmo being supposedly Doomed by Canon. This has been subverted in various universes, the D-Sides and Errorverse realms especially.
    • One is dubbed “ASM-91”, which is where someone close to the hero dies when faced against a personal villain of one of the heroes. This has been shown to happen with several members of the Society, was supposed to happen to Black Knight Amy with Merlina until OMT!Tails intervened, and angered OMT!Tails when Lost Memory Sonic believed that it must happen to OMT!Cream at the hands of Crimtake.
  • Mythology Gag: The Quill Society as a whole is chock-full of this. Its members are straight from previous TV media (Underground Sonic and OVA Knuckles), from previous comic adaptations (such as Turbo, Tekno, Metallix, Fiona and Rob o’), or several fan works in general (stand-outs including Sunky and Tlels, Blitz!Tails and Water Sonic).

Leaders

    Errorverse Sonic

Maurice "Sonic" the Hedgehog (Dimension EV-2019)

Origin: The Film Fic creator's AU

Replaces: Metro Spider-Man / Raimi-verse Spider Man

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/evsonic_xs_and_os.png
"Peek-a-boo!"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/evsonic.png

The version of Sonic from Nitro’s universe, and one of those purely on the side of good, and is pretty similar to the original Sonic in his ways. He is the leader of the Quill Society.

Through the Side Jams of Funkinverse, he is the protagonist of the "Smoke & Mirrors" cover taking on The X.

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Compared to both OMT!Tails and CR!Sonic, EV!Sonic had to endure at least THREE Sonic.exe entities’ attacks, and almost lost everything he loved to the latest one. He was also once depressed from the mass destructive criticism of his content as well. It’s no wonder the guy isn’t afraid to cry in CU!Sonic’s arms.
  • Ascended Extra: While Metro Spider-Man was simply one of several Spider-People going after Miles in the climax of Across, EV!Sonic is The Leader of the entire Quill Society.
  • Benevolent Boss: From what is seen of him in the Quill Society HQ Tour, he's shown to be extremely kind to the entire strike force's members.
    • He mentions to OMT!Tails that Chaos are raised as companions or therapeutic buddies, and he even lets versions of Shadow have one for free, considering how harsh their backstories tend to be.
    • When delivering an order to Carol, he offers her free sushi as a reward for if she does well with it, implying that he practices the same system for all members.
    • The fact alone that he hired a therapist practically right from the get-go deserves a raise too, so that no member goes without being cared for and looked after.
  • Berserk Button: Do NOT call anybody (yes, even the villains held in Gust Planet) "anomalies", as it gives EV!Sonic bad vibes of Malicious Misnaming and claims somebody isn't capable of compassion OR human empathy. It's why he reaches his Rage Breaking Point with LM!Sonic when the crueller hedgehog cites OMT!Tails, Antho and Nitro as anomalies in a short space of time.
  • Big Brother Mentor: He serves as such for OMT!Tails, admiring the kid's continued efforts to Screw Destiny and even inviting him to see the Quill Society for himself, despite LM!Sonic's objection.
  • In Spite of a Nail: While EV!Sonic actively aims to Screw Destiny and supposed "fate", his encounters with Executor, Phaton and Toxinfect count towards the "EXE encounter" criteria for "canon events".
  • Love Interests: He once had Sally as a love interest, though his top crush is a fellow fan character, Nova the Hedgehog.
  • Oh, Crap!: Sonic says this word-for-word near the end of "Xs and Os" when he realises trying to take on The X on his own wasn't the smartest idea. As explained in a comment on the cover's Reddit post, Sonic had to be bailed out of the situation before The X killed and puppeteered him.
  • Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory: Because of the Cosmic Retcon that occurred for the Errorverse, its events got rewritten up to a certain point, though EV!Sonic is amongst a select few that did not have their memories erased by the reset.
  • Screen Name: ErrorverseSonic2021.
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: In IAB! in general, Sonic looks like many of his counterparts, albeit sporting the Mod.Gen sprite style. In the art designed for him in "Xs and Os", however, he's shown wearing a black jacket to better differentiate himself during his confrontation with The X.

    Tekno the Canary

Tekno the Canary (Dimension STC-1993)

Origin: Sonic the Comic

Replaces: The Spectacular Spider-Man

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tekno.png

A tech-savvy young bird who has worked with her Mobius's Freedom Fighters to stop Robotnik on various occasions, also serving as the co-leader of the Quill Society.

  • Ascended Extra: Whilst Spectacular Spidey was just seen amongst those wanting Miles to let the "canon events" happen, Tekno gets an expanded role as the Quill Society's extra leader. She had also been stated to have saved the multiverse from losing the original Sonic.
  • Shipper on Deck: In one of the posts, she asks EV!Sonic about how he's getting on with his crush, and wonders when they'll be getting married, which flusters the blue blur.

Top Members

    Amy Rouge

Amy Rouge (Dimension EV-2019)

Origin: A mod for Sonic Adventure 2

Replaces: Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_0dc2bf39df27ecc4aba91a47f84295b9_fcf7af21_1280.jpg
Art by Nico—Neko

An alternate version of Amy and Rouge created from splicing the DNA of both, she combines the former’s wit and skill with the latter’s charm and intrigue.

  • Adaptational Sympathy: Compared to Jessica, Amy Rouge does NOT stand for The Stations of the Canon, stays firmly as a good person to the end and never betrays OMT!Mina’s idolship of her.
  • Composite Character: Due to being created from both Amy and Rouge's DNA, Amy Rouge is essentially this.
  • Decomposite Character: She is not specifically a version of Amy in this AU, instead serving as her own character.
  • Protectorate: She herself is one due to her bad experience with Toxinfect. This, combined with the fact that a guy might try to hit on her for obvious reasons, is why she is never seen on her own without someone supervising or protecting her, and she stays out of the public eye most of the time because of this.
  • Screen Name: LuvFriends4Ever.

    Zonic the Zone Cop

Zonic the Zone Cop (Dimension ZONE-0000)

Origin: Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics)

Replaces: Max Borne / Spider-Man 2211

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zonic_7.png

An alternate version of Sonic working for the interdimensional Zone Cops, working to bring criminals to justice.

  • Buffy Speak: When trying to explain the gist of the SEGAVerse to OMT!Tails, he tells E-21 to do the "universal-explainy thing".
  • Decomposite Character: Miguel's comedic traits have been applied to Zonic in this AU despite his usually serious demeanour, mainly to hit home how much of a No-Nonsense Nemesis LM!Sonic, who takes Miguel's role, truly is.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite being one of the more serious Sonics in the Quill Society, there are times he's willing to be as quippy or silly as some of the others, such as admitting that naming the SEGAVerse the "Special-Extravagant-Galactic-spAce Vast Multiverse" sounds pretty stupid in itself.

    CD Alt Ending Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog (Dimension CD-1993)

Origin: Sonic CD Alternative Ending by Lucsan 2015

Replaces: Ezekiel Sims / Spider-Therapist

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cdsonic.png

An alternate version of the blue blur who ended up being forced to witness his world fall victim to an apocalypse and suffered horribly for it.

    E-21

E-21 (Dimension MOV-2019)

Origin: Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) (Drone) / Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) (Elise)

Replaces: LYLA

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/e_21.png

A modified version of one of Movie Eggman’s original robots to serve as an AI assistant for Lost Memory Sonic, integrated with the personality of Princess Elise.

  • Benevolent A.I.: Whilst helping to keep the multiverse intact, she knows Lost Memory Sonic isn’t thinking straight and had been working in secret to try and restore his memories, therefore giving the possibility to redeem himself. Sadly, LM!Sonic was not going to take it.
  • Meaningful Name: The name "E-21" seems to solely be related to Movie Eggman's robot naming, but it takes on a whole new meaning considering who inherits the drone's AI databanks, meaning the "E" stands for "Elise".
  • Only Friend: Before she and LM!Sonic joined the Quill Society, E-21/Elise was this for LM!Sonic after the circumstances that erased the dimension he tried to replace that Sonic in, as she seemed to be the only one who could show his more positive qualities before then.
  • Satellite Character: Averted, as unlike LYLA, E-21 inherits Elise's personality, so she can serve as her own person despite the confines of her new drone body.

Rogue Members

    Lost Memory Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog (Dimension SS-2001)

Origin: What If Sonic Lost His Memory? by The SEGA Scourge

Replaces: Miguel O'Hara / Spider-Man 2099

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lost_memory_sonic_hd.png

An Amnesiac Hero version of Sonic from a mirrored timeline who was corrupted into a high-ranking asset of the Eggman Empire.

  • Adaptational Villainy: Due to being turned into a cold, heartless villain by Eggman, Lost Memory Sonic is on the side of evil prior to his memories getting fully restored. And if other parts of Miguel’s personality are to be taken at face value, he’s become a manipulative villain WORSE than the doctor or even Black Doom ever was. Worse still, Cosmic Discoveries shows that he's stooped WAY lower than Miguel would ever do, by deliberating endangering two innocent kids and usurping his Eggman's entire empire from him before murdering the villain.
  • Amnesiac Hero: Due to taking the sacrifice for Shadow, Sonic ended up being the one to lose his memory instead of the Ultimate Life Form.
  • Bad Boss: In a sharp contrast to EV!Sonic, LM!Sonic doesn't treat his rogue group with the best respect, having been shown to physically and verbally abuse Fiona Fox, even if she hadn't done anything wrong, and even leaving her and Turbo for dead when he becomes blinded by his rage and with a one-track-minded obsession with murdering OMT!Tails.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: In Many More Heroes, he shares this with Crimtake, both of the two posing a major threat in their own ways. After Crimtake falls, however, LM!Sonic becomes the sole Big Bad for Cosmic Discoveries.
  • Broken Pedestal: By the end of Many More Heroes, Lost Memory Sonic is actively scorned by his own Quill Society allies for almost indirectly causing the multiverse’s destruction, and is forced to go back to what’s left of his dimension to clean up his own mess. He’s not even looked upon positively for trying to enable the death of OMT!Cream. This is ultimately what drives him to become the Big Bad of Cosmic Discoveries in his attempt to hunt down and kill OMT!Tails.
  • Control Freak: Whilst he was originally alright with just trying to avoid tampering with destiny to keep the multiverse stable, LM!Sonic relegates into this after Many More Heroes and for the entirety of Cosmic Discoveries, wanting ALL new dimensions to follow their intended destinies to the letter to avoid their instability. It's this desire to ensure that You Can't Fight Fate that kickstarts a part of the latter story's plot.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: His treatment and attitude towards OMT!Tails, specifically his refusal to recognise him or Antho as “true” successors to their Sonics, claiming they were the reason those Sonics died in the first place, and overall hatred for them breaking the seemingly-established canon is specifically tailored to mirror the now-misaligned criticism of fans that believe Sonic’s companions don’t mean anything.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: LM!Sonic is mentioned in the "universe chart" post to dislike Dimension JC-231 (all but stated to be where the original Sonic.exe stories by JC-the-Hyena take place) just like his Quill Society colleagues.
  • Hypocrite: Whilst having a one-track-minded obsession with "canon events", LM!Sonic fits the mold of a hero MUCH less than any of his peers in the Quill Society.
    • He actually averted a canon event of his own; namely, allowing Shadow to survive the fall from space while he lost his memory in his rival's stead, leading to his Face–Heel Turn thanks to Eggman.
    • He's the only major Quill Society character to lack Super-Senses, having to rely on his gadgets to keep his wits about him.
    • His universe's number does not correspond to the release of his source material, but instead the date when Sonic Adventure 2 released.
  • I Let Gwen Stacy Die: It’s ultimately revealed that he comes from an Alternate Continuity where he willingly repressed his memories after the Trauma Conga Line of losing his memory, being used as a toy by Eggman, Amy and Silver getting killed in the crossfire during the final battle and trying to replace himself in a universe where he perished in the Sonic ‘06 events. All this led to his theory about “canon events” and his antagonistic behaviour in the story.
  • Kick the Dog:
    • While chasing down OMT!Tails and trying to stop him from disrupting the “canon” is understandable, calling him a “mistake” and claiming he doesn’t belong and should NEVER have been a hero is unnecessarily cruel.
    • He gets another moment of this when OMT!Mina is amongst those aiming to stop him from going after OMT!Tails and jeopardising his mission. It's shown quickly he never cared about her wellbeing and threatened to make her go back to her original dimension, despite knowing she was branded as a murderer there. This only served to ignite EV!Sonic's attack, though it was definitely a line too far to cross to verbally harm the Broken Bird.
  • Killed Off for Real: After his ordeal in Cosmic Discoveries, LM!Sonic meets this fate, being Erased From Existence by MV!Tails.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After OMT!Tails publicly calls out LM!Sonic’s schemes, it causes everyone except for Turbo, Fiona, Metallix and E-21 to turn on him, leading to a near-complete inversion of Miguel sending many Spider-Men after Miles.
  • Manipulative Bastard: He mostly inherits Miguel’s use of the trope, what with him planning to turn the Quill Society into a Cult that believes Misery Builds Character and abandons others to cruel fates for the sake of it, but his attempt to recruit OMT!Mina and Nitro into the dark side of the Society demonstrates an extra layer of this that Miguel lacks - namely, neither of them have any interest in professional work, yet Lost Memory Sonic tries to force them to follow the paths of Gwen and Insomniac Spidey regardless.
  • Oh, Crap!: LM!Sonic develops a big one when he realises that not only did OMT!Tails have him for a fool from the start, but the nanomachine suit makes the kid a Man of Kryptonite against the corruption. Thus, when he’s distracted, he’s utterly powerless to escape before he’s blasted out of Terminal Velocity at full force.
  • Only Friend: Before she and LM!Sonic joined the Quill Society, E-21/Elise was this for LM!Sonic after the circumstances that erased the dimension he tried to replace that Sonic in, as she seemed to be the only one who could show his more positive qualities before then. This is ultimately lost when his emotions are numbed by his one-track-minded hatred and Control Freak personality.
  • Pet the Dog: LM!Sonic ultimately doesn’t dislike CU!Sonia at all, and even lets her goof around on top of his head without much fuss, despite him being mildly unamused. He even pays enough attention to catch her when she falls off.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Like his Sonic Epilogue counterpart, his eye colour has changed to red to indicate his now-villainous status. He lacks these in the Action Prologue, though.
  • Sanity Slippage: His true hatred is flat-out extended to OMT!Tails, a version of his ex-sidekick, after he originally claimed only Shadow, Black Doom or Eggman would make him stoop to this level.
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: After all that happened, LM!Sonic shed his heroic identity for good and didn't care about the consequences that came with forcing others to "accept destiny", as he put it.
  • They Died Because of You: He blames OMT!Tails for the death of OMT!Sonic since he was apparently never meant to become a hero in the first place, completely ignoring that it wasn’t the kid’s fault to begin with. Needless to say, he deserved the No-Holds-Barred Beatdown immediately afterwards, courtesy of both Mobiverse Tails and Antho.
“Everywhere you two go, you’re anomalies. You’re both the original anomalies! The energy that gave you your powers wasn’t from your dimensions. It was never supposed to get into you! There’s a world out there without an heroic Sonic because the energy got to you instead! You were not supposed to be the heroes! […] You and Anthony are nothing but mistakes! If he hadn’t been stupid enough to intervene, his Sonic would’ve lived. Instead, he died trying to save him. He would’ve stopped the super-collider before it went off. Crimtake wouldn’t exist! And you... Had you actually BEEN more competent in stopping that Malware Threat, your Sonic would still be alive today! But NO! He had to die trying to save your pathetic hide! You wouldn’t have lost so many! You wouldn’t have had to take his place! And none of this would’ve happened! And all this time, I’ve been one of the only ones holding this joint together. You don’t belong in this universe. You never did. […] That’s EXACTLY what you are, Miles Prower! You’re nothing but a kid. Who has no. Idea. WHAT THE HELL. HE’S DOING!!!
  • Trademark Favorite Food: LM!Sonic is stated by Amy Rouge to like the Tex Mexan sandwiches (based on those from Subway) when his hunger is brought up. OMT!Tails even gets one from the café to try and make a better first impression to him.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: In the Action Prologue, he calls out OMT!Mina's past Crossover as being the cause of villains randomly being thrown to the wrong dimensions.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Though he didn't do any of this towards CU!Sonia, LM!Sonic's callous actions endangered OMT!Tails directly and OMT!Cream indirectly in Many More Heroes, and after he lost his rights to work in the Quill Society, he stooped even lower in Cosmic Discoveries by stranding Melody and Skye Prower out of their dimension and refusing to let the dimension be remade.

    Turbo the Alien Hedgehog

Turbo the Alien Hedgehog (Dimension STC-1993)

Origin: Sonic the Comic and Sonic the Comic – Online!

Replaces: Ben Reilly / Scarlet Spider

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/turbo_7.png

An alien-like hedgehog from another planet who was forced to take part in a brutal space race for the sake of his family.

  • Affectionate Parody: While his altered personality may be an insult to him and fellow recolours, he’s also a more lighthearted riff on Author Avatars and how they tend to act when inserted into the same universe as their favourite characters.
  • Decomposite Character: While Miguel created his Spider-Man identity by taking after in-universe media of the webslinger, Lost Memory Sonic, who’s already got that identity, lacks such a detail in his backstory. This role is passed over to Turbo, who built his replication of Sonic’s personality from a SEGA Genesis version of Sonic Superstars with simplified content.
  • Irony: His world’s Sonic is one he actively served as a rival for, but they ultimately reached common ground and were happy to team up to stop The Void. Unfortunately, working under Lost Memory Sonic means he spends more time near counterparts that not only don’t know him personally, but are turned against him in the end.
  • Light Is Not Good: Turbo may be an awesome alien counterpart to Sonic and a worthy rival to him, but in this AU, he’s developed into a Manchild working for the Jerk with a Heart of Jerk, Lost Memory Sonic.
  • Take That!: A side of his personality featured in Into, Across and Beyond! is a mockery of him being cited as a recoloured Sonic and lacking much to make him stand out, much like Ben’s portrayal of constant melodrama in Across. That said, it’s more downplayed here, as it invites more of a riff on his character archetype that’s more an Affectionate Parody than an outright jab.
  • Tragic Villain: For all his new personality entails, a key point of his original personality still stands; he’s still doing this for his family and freedom in general, and when backstabbed by LM!Sonic, he doesn’t hesitate to label the Brainwashed and Crazy hedgehog as a challenger and loses all sympathy for him.

    Fiona Fox

Fiona Fox (Dimension AR-1992)

Origin: Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics)

Replaces: Cyborg Spider-Woman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fiona_82.png

The sidekick and ex-girlfriend of Scourge the Hedgehog, having signed into the Quill Society and being kept a good eye on.

  • Ascended Extra: Compared to Cyborg Spider-Woman, who was just an Advertised Extra in Across the Spider-Verse, Fiona is one of the few members of the Quill Society planted on LM!Sonic’s side of things, and one of those actively attempting to stop OMT!Tails from reaching Crimtake.
  • Being Evil Sucks: Fiona is shown to genuinely dislike working under LM!Sonic, who abuses her regularly, from what is shown, and only does what she has to reluctantly before she defects from him permanently.
  • When She Smiles: In the first scene she shows up in person in, she genuinely enjoys the company of CU!Sonic and CU!Sonia, feeling that they bring a lot more fun into LM!Sonic's dorm where there otherwise isn't any.

    Emperor Metallix

Emperor Metallix (Dimension STC-1993)

Origin: Sonic the Comic

Replaces: Spider-Rex

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metallic.png

A giant robot piloting a throne-like vehicle, under the lead of Lost Memory Sonic.

  • Adaptational Badass: Emperor Metallix lacked anything to attack in the comics, but made up for it by being the lead of the Metallix hivemind. Here, though, thanks to LM!Sonic's retooling, the Emperor has gained weaponry of his own to attack with, likely including his giant laser from Sonic Time Twisted.
  • Demoted to Dragon: In the comics, Emperor Metallix had his own goals independent of Robotnik and led the Brotherhood of Metallix. Here, though, he serves as a vital asset to LM!Sonic’s plans to rule.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Daisy from the Wrath Soul universe. Compared to her, who is solely on the side of good and is a Ridiculously Human Robot, Metallix holds a superiority complex for eradicating sapient life and works under Lost Memory Sonic, only showing his face once the truth about his plan for “canon events” is exposed and everything goes to hell. Daisy is also completely original to her own series, while Emperor Metallix takes after Metal Sonic Kai and the Dalek Emperors in his comic of origin.
  • Off with His Head!: The way Metallix goes down during the big chase, courtesy of Millie the Fox (CartoonsAnimate22's OC) knocking it off and causing him to crash-land elsewhere.

Other Members

    Underground Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog (Dimension UG-1999)

Origin: Sonic Underground and Archie Sonic Online

Replaces: 1967 Spider-Man

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ugsonic.png

A version of Sonic coming from a mixed-reception animation.

  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Due to Archie Sonic Online filling in the gaps, we can see that Underground Sonic has indeed got his happy ending, with Robotnik and his henchmen defeated, and a Magic Music World-Healing Wave undoing all of the twisted doctor's carnage.
  • Screen Name: Rock It Out.
  • Take That!: Compared to the character he’s swapped into, Underground Sonic is the one taking self-aware jabs at his own show, though not in any insulting manner towards his siblings or mother.

    LEGO Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog (Dimension LEGO-2016)

Origin: LEGO Dimensions / His own LEGO sets

Replaces: LEGO Spider-Man

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lego_sonic.png

A brick-built version of the blue blur hailing from his own universe, also coming one of the closest to being the original canon variant of Sonic.

  • Dimensional Traveler: Following the events of his DLC story in LEGO Dimensions, Sonic travelled the multiverse using the Keystone Device he took from LEGO Eggman, even meeting others from other LEGO realms along the way.
  • Lilliputians: Subverted for LEGO Sonic. While he is just the size of a regular LEGO minifigure in our world, he is of a similar height to his fellow hedgehogs and heroes in the IAB! multiverse.
  • Living Toys: He comes from a universe where LEGO minifigures are sentient beings. It also in part counts in our world, since he helped advertise his own LEGO sets AND saved the LEGO HQ from his Eggman.
  • Rogues Gallery: During his intro, he mentions several of the villains he helped deal with (besides Eggman, obviously), listing off the Joker, Green Goblin, the Cybermen, Lord Business, GLaDOS and the Wicked Witch of the West as examples.

    Sunky and Tlels

Sunky the Hedgehawg and Micheal "Tlels" Powder (Dimension SUNK-2014)

Origin: Sunky.MPEG and Sunky's Schoolhouse

Replaces: Plush Spider-Man

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sunky_7.png

A duo of pint-sized characters based on Sonic and Tails coming from a more goofy dimension.

  • Affectionate Parody: These two are this to Sonic and Tails respectively.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Sunky is stated to be secretly really strong in combat, to the point of being cited as capable of giving an EXE a run for their money.
  • Screen Name: Sunk.
  • The Voiceless: Since Sunky is pretty much the silent type aside from sounds he makes, Tlels is usually the one to speak for both of them if need be. Not knowing this at first made their first meeting with EV!Sonic and Tekno a little awkward.

    Carol Tea

Carol Tea the Wildcat (Dimension FP-2015)

Origin: Freedom Planet

Replaces: Peter Parkedcar / Spider-Mobile

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carol_85.png

A wildcat who loves adventure, sleeping and her motorbike, though is one of the few not to be from an actual Sonic dimension.

For all tropes related to her original appearance, go here.

  • Adaptational Sympathy: At least in contrast to Peter Parkedcar. Whilst she is naturally a kind-hearted person, it’s also shown in full here when she outright refuses to let anyone else use her bike without her permission, hence why she gets real angry when Fiona steals it to go after OMT!Tails.
  • Decomposite Character: Peter Parkedcar in the original Across the Spider-Verse was simply a sentient car. Carol, meanwhile, is a full-on person of her own, the vehicle side being taken by her trusty motorbike.
  • Screen Name: AwesomeMotorbiker2015.

    Sarah Henderson

Sarah Henderson (Dimension NM-1963)

Origin: Needlem0use by ShutUpJojo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sarah_80.png

A young woman from the 60s who was once murdered by accident and her soul trapped in a video game disc, Sarah is another protagonist made known in Hanelm Crackdown.

For all tropes related to her original appearance, go here.

  • Expy Coexistence: She is commonly present with Richard Ambersilve, who also underwent similar circumstances and suffered for it. They are each able to get by with each other’s support, of course, and considering Richard’s broken mental state after being cured then being temporarily stuck in a digital medium again, he really needed it.
  • Love Triangle: Sarah is currently in a three-way love triangle, with her real-life girlfriend Lily as her main crush, alongside Sonic.RAW’s affections for her and Richard warming to her support.
  • Screen Name: NeedleGal1963.
  • Token Human: Amongst the Quill Society, Sarah is notably one of the few humans of the bunch.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After her resurrection from unknown means, she is noticeably much more kind-hearted and less willing to murder innocents. That doesn’t mean she’ll play nice if jerks plan on exploiting her abilities for their gain, though.

    Barry the Quokka

Barry the Quokka (Dimension CLUE-2023)

Origin: The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barry_91.png

A non-binary companion who had once helped solve a mysterious case aboard a train and assisted indirectly in foiling one of Eggman’s plans.

  • Badass Normal: Despite lacking the powers of many of his peers in the Quill Society, Barry is still pretty good in their detective work, thanks to them snuffing out the culprit behind Sonic being knocked out cold.
  • The Hero's Idol: Alongside them being implied to idolise Sonic, Barry also seems to have idolised Gadget the Wolf upon hearing about his adventures.
  • Screen Name: AceDetective.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Barry assisted OMT!Tails in blowing the truth about LM!Sonic's "canon event" theory, and though they didn't participate in the big chase, they still encouraged the alternate version of their partner-in-stopping-crime to reveal this troubling revelation to the other top Quill Society members, even rooting for the kid once he did so.

    Milly Prower

Milly Prower (Dimension SA-2022)

Origin: An Original Character by SallyAc63038470

Replaces: Mary-Jane Watson Parker / Spinneret

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/milly_31.png

A step-sister of the Prower family from another universe, and part of what inspired Tails to develop his interests.

  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: It's not stated what Milly looked like prior to her current appearance, though her cast post mentions that she formed her present-day look in her childhood, likely to better fit in with the inhabitants of her Mobius.
  • Beast and Beauty: Milly is stated to have been dating the Lord X of her universe, though it’s ambiguous as to whether the dark matter entity has been returning her affections or not. And though she still loved him regardless, she still questions some of his methods, like gruesomely assassinating police officers in front of her.
  • Berserk Button: Milly really doesn’t like guys trying to take advantage of her for whatever reason.
  • Depending on the Artist: In the post discussing her, the commissioned / fan-made art tends to vary time-to-time with her. In the art by DayinDark15 and her sprite design used in IAB!, Milly's ears match up to her normal muzzle that is akin to other Sonic characters outside of Tails, whilst the art made by HoshiSen makes her ears have fluff inside them.
  • Lightning/Fire Juxtaposition: Between her and Blitz!Tails, Milly is the one to utilise lightning in her arsenal, whilst Blitz!Tails is capable of summoning fire.
  • Love Triangle: By the end of Many More Heroes, Milly is stated to be dating both the Sonic AND Lord X of her universe and is in a stable relationship with both. For the time being, it's left unknown who she'd pick for potential marriage.
  • Screen Name: I <3 My Guys.

    Blitz!Tails and Blitz!Milla

Miles "Tails" Prower and Milla Basset (Dimension BL-2017)

Origin: Sonic Blitz / Avalice Blitz by BobTheGUYYYYY

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_7cbebb5d83d87ee7d07a90bf7f862acb_ab2416f8_2048.jpg

Versions of Tails and Milla who are all grown up and co-exist in the same solar system, also both deeply in love with one another due to their equal love for science.

Tropes connected to both:

  • Best Friend:
    • Naturally, Blitz!Sonic is this for Blitz!Tails, hence him being the first person the guy turns to when admitting his feelings for Blitz!Milla.
    • Blitz!Milla also has this with Blitz!Llac, as per standard, having also turned to her when she was ready to show her feelings.
  • Commonality Connection: Blitz!Tails and Blitz!Milla found their common ground in their equal interest in science, and this commonality extends to any interdimensional friends they find who also enjoy the subject.
  • Interspecies Romance: Blitz!Tails, a two-tailed fox, is canonically in love with Blitz!Milla, a basset hound.

Tropes connected to Blitz!Tails specifically:

  • Lightning/Fire Juxtaposition: Between him and Milly, Blitz!Tails is capable of summoning fire whenever needed, whilst Milly can utilise lightning where applicable.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Blitz!Tails, at one point, encourages OMT!Tails, who is younger than him, not to lose the youth he had taken for granted, which he misses quite a lot, with the weight of the knowledge that he’s normally quite a light-hearted dude unless one is stupid enough to push his Berserk Buttons.
  • Screen Name: Blitz Nerd.

Tropes connected to Blitz!Milla specifically:

  • Big Damn Heroes: On the day of their first meeting, Milla saved Tails from getting crushed under a giant robot's foot. In Cosmic Discoveries, she's also the first to find OMT!Tails after he winds up stuck in her home universe.
  • Friend to All Children: During her and Blitz!Tails's time in the OMEGA Universe, she's stated to have been especially friendly to the younger inhabitants living there, as practice for when she possibly later becomes the mom she never had.
  • Noodle Incident: At one point, there was a small incident where Blitz!Milla ended up almost mistaking Mobiverse Tails for her boyfriend.

    Sonic.RAW

Sonic.RAW (Dimension RAW-1994)

Created by: randidesu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raw_95.png

An unusual defect EXE who originally tried to be as intimidating as his brethren, but having failed to do so.

    Superstars / Discovery Omega Amy

Amy Rose (Dimension MULTI-2023)

Origin: Sonic Superstars

Replaces: Anna-May Parker / Spiderling

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ssamy.png

A version of Amy Rose from the same universe as Trip, and the girl’s first true friend from there.

  • Ascended Extra: Like many of the Quill Society’s elites, she gets just as much important focus, and even serves as the deuteragonist for a good deal of Many More Heroes, especially when she joins OMT!Tails in going after and stopping Crimtake, knowing just what he’ll do after he’s done with his first target.
  • Berserk Button: Do NOT insult Trip OR Sonic in her field of hearing OR sight. This mistake was made twice from two characters; LM!Sonic, which caused Amy’s scorn alongside being ridiculed for something she couldn’t deal with, and Crimtake, who gets a full-on BATTERING at her hands and is almost destroyed.
  • Composite Character: SS!Amy’s journeys in both Sally.exe Discovery Omega and Sonic Superstars both happened within a good range of each other, which is also part of her first confrontation with Crimtake in the former story’s case.
  • Set Right What Once Went Wrong: This is SS!Amy’s motivation for siding with Tails to stop Crimtake’s plans, outwardly defying LM!Sonic after how rude he was to her prior about being unable to stop Crimtake when she first had the chance.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Though her mention in the Action Prologue doesn’t amount to much, Amy herself has had a mass Crossover event with different characters, OMT!Mina included alongside X!Cream and SAT!Sally.
  • You Can't Go Home Again: Like Trip, the rest of Team Sonic, Fang, Robotnik and several surviving critters, Amy got locked out of her old home after Dr. Finitevus outright destroyed it in Into the Sonic-verse.

    OVA Knuckles

Knuckles the Echidna (Dimension OVA-1996)

Origin: Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie

Replaces: Patrick O'Hara / Web-Slinger

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ovaknuckles.png

A version of Knuckles well-known for the hat he wears regularly.

  • Cool Horse: OVA!Knuckles has Julie-Su’s horse often by his side, and shares the responsibility of looking after it with her and Saffron.
  • Genre Refugee: Like Web-Slinger, OVA!Knuckles seems to have embraced The Western genre, acting accordingly during a small duel by telling OMT!Tails to “draw” a non-lethal weapon on the count of three. Thing is, OMT!Tails hails from a regular superhero genre and wasn’t able to learn the rules immediately, accidentally blasting OVA!Knux with a non-lethal shot.
  • Quick Draw: He attempts to have one with OMT!Tails on their first meeting, who ignores it on the first go around and immediately hits him non-lethally.

    Rob O' the Hedge

Rob O' the Hedge (Dimension ZONE-MER-1998)

Origin: Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rob_o.png

A variant of Sonic that takes after the legendary Robin Hood in his ways.

  • The Cameo: In the "Quill Society HQ Tour" scene, Rob O' is seen amongst the Mix-Match group set for an escort to Sector 12 of the base.
  • Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe: Due to his world reflecting Medieval England, he has this quite a bit in his speech.

    Water Sonic

Water Sonic (Dimension ELE-2023)

Origin: Fanart based on Elemental (2023)

Replaces: The sentient Spider-Popsicle

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/water_sonic.png

A version of Sonic made purely out of water, as his name suggests, who’s a role swap-in for Wade Ripple in his universe.

  • The Cameo: He makes an appearance during the "Quill Society HQ Tour" scene, where he joins in on Fleetway Amy's Hurricane of Puns about Crimtake.
  • Irony:
    • One of Sonic’s most well-known fears is water, and this is a Sonic made entirely out of the stuff.
    • There is a character sharing Wade’s name within the SEGAVerse, that being Wade Whipple, who himself is a friend of his Sonic.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: As sentient water, Water Sonic has this ability to easily slip through narrow gaps. He does prefer the form he takes regularly, though.

    Fleetway Amy

Amy Rose (Dimension STC-1993)

Origin: Sonic the Comic

Replaces: Malala Windsor / Spider-UK

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fleetway_amy.png

A more sassy version of Amy who can be great in combat, even without a hammer like many of her counterparts.

  • Action Duo: Fleetway Amy is in one with Tekno, to the point that they work well together in the big chase to apprehend Lost Memory Sonic.
  • Hurricane of Puns: Tekno asking Fleetway Amy about Crimtake’s whereabouts leads to this, starting with her cracking a pun about “taking a look out for Crimtake”, which a lot of the nearby characters join in on.

    Stella the Cat

Stella Hoshine the Cat (Dimension VOC-2009)

Origin: Stella the Cat (a Sonic the Hedgehog ROM hack; her feline appearance) / Felicia Val (UTAU Vocaloid)

Replaces: Anya Corazón / Araña

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stella_94.png

A Vocaloid girl who had taken the form of a cat to better fit in with the fellow Sonic characters she had met, and one of the earliest members of the Quill Society.

  • Adaptational Context Change: In IAB!, she's the one to show the pregnancy in the Action Prologue instead of a counterpart of Jess, and thus is also on the receiving end of OMT!Mina's "Will you adopt me?" question.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Between her and fellow Vocaloid Ryu Shi, who is her love interest, Stella is the gentle girl in their relationship. During the Action Prologue, she mentions to OMT!Mina about her soon-to-be child, implying they’ve gotten more closer in this continuity.
  • Cool Big Sis: Stella gives off this impression to OMT!Mina, and is even the first to give her a comfort hug in the aftermath of the Action Prologue.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: Just like in her canon, Stella is quite fluent in Japanese, having that as a first language alongside Spanish and English.
Stella: (in response to LM!Sonic not wanting OMT!Mina in the Quill Society) Naze damedesu ka?note
    LM!Sonic: You know why...
  • Sweet Tooth: Stella likes pretty much all types of sweets, alongside pizza.

    Pana Der Hejhog

Pana Der Hejhog (Dimension PDH-2011)

Origin: His ROM hack of the same name

Replaces: Spider-Man Unlimited

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pana.png

"Whole point of being the hero of your world is being capable of making your own choices. Being your own boss. Plus, you're a smart kid. I noticed you built your own interdimensional watch. [...] Well, I'm just lookin' out for my songoose sis, is all."
—Pana to OMT!Tails

An alternate version of Sonic hailing from a top-quality ROM hack.

  • Cool Big Bro: Pana serves as one for OMT!Mina and BK!Amy, alongside OMT!Tails, helping them out of different jams while helping them be their best selves. And it even goes without saying he’s looked up to a lot.
  • Decomposite Character: While D-Sides Mighty inherits the role of Hobie in this project, Pana is the one to inherit his personality, down to the Cool People Rebel Against Authority behaviour.
“I dislike political fronts, I hate slimy companies, and I'm especially not into labels.”
  • Friend to All Children: He’s this for pretty much all iterations of Tails and Cream he meets, providing guidance to OMT!Tails and OMT!Mina in times of need, and is also very gentle towards the Sonias and CR!Manik.
  • I'm Not a Hero, I'm...: Pana never calls himself a hero, despite his heroic deeds, stating that the jerks in society that act like “heroes” are nothing but “self-mythologizing narcissistic fools”. In retrospect, this serves as a biting reflection of LM!Sonic and his planned enforcement of “canon events” - he is indeed narcissistically convinced he’s the centre of the universe and dismissive of others’ pain, and his focus on canon events is extremely self-mythologizing.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: He and Superstars Amy were the ones to capture Speedy, who’s seen amongst the various villains set to be returned to their worlds.

    Bunnie Rabbot

Bunnie Rabbot

Origin: Various (specifically Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) and Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics))

Replaces: Charlotte Webber / Sun-Spider (the disability side)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bunnie_2.png

A country-girl rabbit who is half-roboticized, but still living a good life of her own.

  • Decomposite Character: While Bunnie inherits Charlotte Webber's disability due to her part-robotization, Mille the Fox, who also fills the role, fits the fangirl side of the formula.
  • Genre Savvy: Specifically of The Western, if her dialogue in her first scene post is anything to go by, showing her boasting that any cowboy could outsmart a Ben 10 alien in Turbo's face, the latter constantly trying to prove her wrong.

    Nicky Parlouzer

Nicky Parlouzer (Dimension EV-2019)

Origin: Sonic Manga

Replaces: Spider-Canada

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nicky_7.png

A young kid who lives in the Emerald Town of his universe and served as an unbeknownst alias of Sonic once.

  • The Cameo: In the "Quill Society HQ Tour" post, he can be seen in the café mockup reading a book with Devy next to him, in the same scene where Pana serves as a Stealth Mentor to OMT!Tails before they encounter LM!Sonic in his dorm.
  • Cute Bookworm: Of the male variant, just like OMT!Tails and Max Cartwright, as he enjoys studying and is equally shy. He even has a pair of glasses to go with him.
  • Decomposite Character: As he co-exists with EV!Sonic in the Errorverse, he no longer has a perfect match-up to being an alias of Sonic, instead being his own character.

    Somari

Somari (Dimension PIR-1994)

Origin: Somari

Replaces: Officer Parker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/somari.png

A version of Mario taking after the can-do and snazzy attitude of Sonic.

  • Composite Character: Like the bootleg of origin, Somari is basically what you get if you mix Mario with Sonic.
  • Uniformity Exception: Compared to all of the other Quill Society members, Somari stands out for being a version of Mario, who isn’t tied to Sonic at all on his own, while Carol comes from a game inspired by Sonic, and Stella Hoshine’s cat self is an official design by her creator.

    Millie the Fox

Millie the Fox

Created by: CartoonsAnimate22

Origin: Sonic the Hedgehog: Lost Island (playable appearance; Sonic Mania Plus mod)

Replaces: Charlotte Webber / Sun-Spider (the fangirl side)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_58dda896ac60fe23f5757826fad22dd5_d41b87ae_640.jpg

A young fox who really admires OMT!Tails's heroics and helps him out a little bit when the going gets tough.

  • Decomposite Character: While Millie inherits Charlotte Webber's fangirling for Miles, Bunnie, who also fills the role, fits the disability side due to her part-robotization.
  • Expy: She's not this in IAB!, but in Lost Island, her playable appearance swaps in for Mighty, including the moveset in the SHC '21 demo.
  • Fangirl: She is this to OMT!Tails, and makes it clear when the latter confirms who he is to her.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": She is pretty eccentric about meeting OMT!Tails in the middle of a crazy chase.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Though she doesn't appear a lot (appearing only in small cameos prior to the meeting), she still does a good service by decapitating Emperor Metallix and leaving one less threat for OMT!Tails and Superstars Amy to worry about.

    Warrior Feline Honey

Warrior Feline Honey the Cat (Dimension WF-2015)

Origin: A sprite design from the Mystical Forest Zone website

Replaces: Cindy Moon / Silk

Cameos

    Elevator Passengers

Hefty the Armadillo (Dimension DS-2022), NES Sonic and Jake Carter (Dimension EV-2019)

Origin: Original Character based on Friday Night Funkin' D-Sides (Hefty); based on Somari (NES Sonic); Sonic Reclassified (Jake, formerly)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_013574b9fd9ca47016636724be62a3b2_16b257ad_640.jpg

One group of passengers seen at the beginning of the Quill Society HQ Tour in Many More Heroes.

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Hefty, NES Sonic and OMT!Tails seem to find the jab at LM!Sonic funny if their reaction is anything to go by. LM!Sonic himself, though, just stares at Jake with what's assumed to be contempt.
  • Alternate Self: Hefty is this to Nitro, hailing from the D-Sides universe instead of a regular iteration of Mobius or Earth.
  • The Cameo: All three appear briefly during the elevator trip, with Jake taking a crack at LM!Sonic's overly-serious behaviour.

    Sector 12 Corridor Guests

Origin: Various

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_a424d56e9ed2a0dfa4dfa8d1a0683dce_59a9f2bc_640.jpg
"She knows everybody here?"

Multiple characters passing by the corridor to the Quill Society HQ's twelfth sector.

  • The Cameo: Their appearances are all nothing major and simply a way to show how much of a community OMT!Mina had built in the Quill Society.
  • Screw Destiny: The Cosmo present in the scene had done this, having outright averted her Doomed by Canon "canon event".

    Mix-Match Team

Ray, Espio and Johnny Lightfoot

Origin: SegaSonic the Hedgehog (Ray); Knuckles Chaotix (Espio); Sonic the Comic (Johnny)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_f7ac53ecbf5d9ee7f5a876184f0d6302_5e868065_640.jpg

A small team dispatched to help fix up any mess that Crimtake left behind in Many More Heroes.

  • Ambiguous Situation: Due to their minor appearance, it's never stated where Ray and Espio came from, though Johnny's role does come from the comics.
  • The Cameo: All three of them appear briefly alongside Rob O' as they prepare to head to the HQ's docking station for their mission.

    Transport Hub Staff

Nicole and Amy Rose (Dimension GCD-2021)

Origin: Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics) (Nicole); Illegal Instruction (appearance for GCD!Amy)

Replaces: Margo Kess / Spider-Byte (Nicole only)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_2314786af987bee0e15666e41a94f202_e6a9b83b_640_3.jpg

The duo of girls both maintaining the Quill Society's Transport Hub.

  • Adaptational Diversity: GCD!Amy, like her mod of origin, has darker skin compared to her mainstream counterparts, though unlike the mod, she lacks any chubbiness.
  • Digital Avatar: Like Margo was, Nicole is this for her counterpart from her dimension, who's simply chilling out on a gaming chair back at home, though prefers the community the Quill Society brings with it.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Both girls get this in their own ways, and work effectively together to maintain the Transport Hub in the HQ's thirtieth sector.
  • Ship Tease: Nicole gets this with OMT!Tails in their first meeting, much to the jealousy of OMT!Mina.
  • Token Minority: GCD!Amy has brown skin in her appearance, just like the mod she first became public knowledge in, to help differentiate her from her Superstars counterpart. She stands as one of the seen Quill Society members to be of a different ethnicity in this regard.
