Sonic.Exe: Blood Scream is a game based on the Sonic.EXE creepypasta, much like Sonic.exe: Nightmare Beginning, but with entirely different lore, which is closer to the games.
It eventually got a sequel called Sonic.EXE: Blood Tears which also got DLC titled Fall of the Angel.
This game contains examples of:
- Anti-Villain: Executor Vermilion. Despite all the crap he did, he was subjected to a Demonic Possession as part of a Deal with the Devil before he did that crap, and has a Woobie-fiable backstory.
- Back from the Dead: In the Golden Ending, Executor did this to all mortals he killed and Lira via a Cosmic Retcon.
- Cosmic Retcon: What Executor did in the Golden Ending.
- Dark Is Evil: X.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Executor, post-Heel–Face Turn.
- Deal with the Devil: Executor did one with X after Lira's death.
- Death by Origin Story: The death of Executor's wife, Lira, is the cause of Executor's Start of Darkness.
- Demonic Possession: What X did to Executor.
- Also, since this is a Sonic.EXE game, Sonic got possessed himself. Much like in Sonic.exe: Nightmare Beginning, this is kept in-universe. However, see Grand Theft Me below.
- Disproportionate Retribution: Executor became an Omnicidal Maniac just because his wife was killed.
- Earn Your Happy Ending: At the end of the story, Executor is able to reunite with Lira.
- Evil vs. Evil: Executor vs. Akrasiel.
- Evil Versus Oblivion: Executor (Evil) vs. Akrasiel (Oblivion). Downplayed since Executor already pulled a Heel–Face Turn, but he was still possessing Sonic, and Sonic himself still hated Executor.
- Expy: Akrasiel and Stitch-Lait both want to destroy Mobius and recreate it free of demons.
- Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: See My God, What Have I Done? below.
- Golden Ending: Surprisingly, Executor must kill everyone in order for this ending to be achieved. After everyone is killed, the angels revive the victims, but Executor kills them again. However, he undergoes a Heel–Face Turn in the process and decides to kill Sonic.EXE. Then, he kills Akrasiel and uses the Uroboros to undo all the harm he did, and revive Lira.
- Grand Theft Me: Since Executor is a Mobian (mortal), him possessing Sonic becomes this. The "Demonic Possession" bit comes from the demon that was already influencing Executor.
- Heel–Face Turn: In Fall of the Angel, Executor becomes The Atoner and works to undo all of the atrocities he committed prior.
- Light Is Not Good: Akrasiel. Executor also stated that he learned the hard way that angels cannot be trusted.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Executor realizing that Lira's death is no excuse for being an Omnicidal Maniac caused his Heel–Face Turn.
- No Name Given: The name of the legendary hero that sealed Executor in the red ring is never revealed, although it's obvious his last name is Vermilion, since he's Executor's brother. Subverted with Executor's wife, as, in The Stinger of the Golden Ending, Executor reveals that her name is Lira.
- Omnicidal Maniac: What Executor became after his wife was killed.
- Really 700 Years Old: Executor is millions of years old. Might no longer be the case after he caused a Cosmic Retcon.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: Executor is the evil, and he was sealed by his own brother in a red ring. Also counts for X, his former master, who has latched on to Executor's soul.
- Start of Darkness: Lira Vermilion's death was this for her husband, Executor.
- Utopia Justifies the Means: Akrasiel's plan can be summed up to this, as he wants to create a world with no evil.
- We Can Rule Together: Akrasiel offers Executor to work with him to perform omnicide. Executor refuses.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: If Executor Vermilion's wife, Lira, wouldn't have been killed, the game's plot wouldn't have existed.
