Sekai's Party

    Kuzuno Sekai
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1_sekei.jpg
The main character, a modern day teen sent to another world with the power to freeze time.
  • Allergic to Love: In spite of his perversion, when a girl tries to confess love to him like Clau and Miria did, he panics and runs away.
  • Bullying a Dragon: He still makes occasional use of the time stops to sexually harass Swordmaster Leafa. Sure, she's unlikely to notice, but he forgot to undo his stripping once already, which nearly ended in her almost managing to kill him. Since she's fast enough to sneak attack him and she's overconfident enough in her own abilities to not care about Can't Kill You, Still Need You as far as saving the world is concerned, he will probably die if she catches him again.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Sekai may be a shameless pervert who uses his Time Stands Still remote to strip and ogle women, but he still wants to save the world that he's in.
  • The Chosen One: As far as he can tell, he is currently playing the role of the main protagonist of the RPG Mechanicsverse he is in.
  • Clark Kent Outfit: He has become very buff and strong as a result of his training, but his muscles are not visible when he is clothed. This often makes people underestimate him.
  • Combat Pragmatist: When fighting monsters, he'll usually just kill them while time is frozen. On a few occasions, he defeated a mage by gagging them so they couldn't chant spells.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: He relies almost entirely on his remote. If it's lost, stolen, or damaged, he's all but helpless.
  • Cutscene Incompetence: Time stop doesn't work during cutscenes, so Sekai hopes that he will never have to face a Plotline Death.
  • Death's Hourglass: There is a timer that only he can see that constantly counts down. It stops when he freezes time, but he worries that if it reaches zero, he will die. The timer resets if he manages to achieve something spectacular like defeating a great enemy.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: After becoming a worshiper of the earth goddess Entoura, he knows a few earth spells like summoning a small Golem he named Gankichi and a shock wave.
  • Don't Call Me "Sir": He tells Sayuki to just call him by his name without honorifics.
  • Dragon Rider: He tamed the dragon Bahamut and often rides him.
  • The Dulcinea Effect: He has a weakness for pretty girls and will always try to help them.
  • Healing Factor: He gains one after swallowing the Life Stone. It is potent enough to heal a broken leg and let him survive being frozen in ice. He loses it after the Life Stone falls out of him after he gets slashed and then it bonds to Miria.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: He usually fights with a sword, eventually gaining one designed to kill darklings.
  • Hidden Depths: His party thinks he is a perverted idiot at first, but he was a good student back on Earth, proven when he easily reads Entoura's scriptures and several history books and is able to retain that information. He's also a good cook and was able to teach Gankichi how to play the piano.
  • Karma Houdini: He uses his powers to sexually harass girls all the time with almost no repercussions. Most girls never learn that he is doing it in the first place, sometimes he gets to use self-defense as an excuse, and his party members begrudgingly put up with it since his time stopping ability is too useful for saving the world. The only woman to punish him so far is Swordmaster Leafa, who slashed him, broke his nose, and came within an inch of killing him before he begged for mercy.
  • Last-Name Basis: Almost everybody calls him Sekai.
  • Loyal Phlebotinum: His time freeze controller only works for him, as shown when Niña stole it once but could not get it to work.
  • Necessary Drawback: His time stop powers come with some serious downsides that he has to work around.
    • When he stops time, his party members are literally dead weight, and he has to carry them around.
    • In order to interact with the world when time is stopped, the world can interact with him, as such, he can still set off traps, which he learns to his horror once. Fortunately, it was his golem that set the trap off and the golem can be resummoned.
    • As part of the world being able to interact with him, if he enters an area where an effect is already active, even if time is stopped, it can affect him, as he learns when going after a flying cockatrice who was using its petrification breath and he winds up petrified.
    • If he is disabled when time is frozen, the world will stay in stasis, perhaps permanently.
  • Non-Action Guy: The gameworld he has become protagonist for seems to have been designed for a fantasy style Action Hero, but even after building up muscle and Character Levels, Sekai lacks any genuine combat ability, forcing him to assassinate enemies during time stops.
  • Power Perversion Potential: He often strips, ogles, and gropes girls while time is frozen, then puts their clothes back so they don't notice when he unfreezes time, though he never kisses or rapes them. His usual method of dealing with female attackers is to freeze time and strip them naked, then resume time, both to embarrass them into surrendering or retreating and to enjoy the view. He does not advertise his ability and pretends he stripped them via "Disarmament Magic".
  • Punny Name: His name translates to "Trashy World" or "Scummy World". Since Niña always calls him the worst when he does something perverted, she's basically calling him the Worst in the World.
  • Razor Wind: After Leveling Up, he can swing his sword to cut things via wind.
  • Red Baron: He is called the "Salvation Brave" for his heroics.
  • Showy Invincible Hero: How he appears to everyone, since almost nobody can harm him and he can seemingly move any distance and kill in an instant.
  • Starring Smurfette: Sekei is the only guy in his party. Further, most recurring characters are female, too.
  • The Storyteller: He sometimes passes the time by telling his party stories from Earth. Since the inhabitants of this world have never heard of them, they are usually a hit.
  • Supreme Chef: Anyone who tries his food tends to light up in delight, since he knows several Japanese recipes unknown to this world.
  • Time Stands Still: When he hits Pause on his video game controller, time freezes until he hits it again.
  • What You Are in the Dark: While he takes advantage of his powers for perversion, Fury notes that since he can get away with anything, he is commendable for choosing not to run away from problems and always saving people. He also does his best to pay back people he stole money from while time was frozen.
  • Wouldn't Hit a Girl: He tries to avoid harming girls and refused to kill Zaraza even though she was an enemy.

    Niña
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2_nina.jpg
A thief who joins Sekai's party after being impressed by him and as thanks for him getting her pardoned.
  • Big Eater: She eats a lot during meals. She justifies this by saying she rarely had a chance to eat when she was a thief.
  • Bunnies for Cuteness: She wears a hoodie with bunny ears.
  • Character Catchphrase: Whenever Sekai does something perverted, she'll say, "Sekai is the worst!" The English version changes this to calling him a sleazebag.
  • Cowardly Lion: As she puts it, she has no fighting skills and often gets scared of enemies, but she sticks with Sekai regardless.
  • Dragon Rider: She often rides Bahamut in battle.
  • Five-Finger Discount: She is a skilled pickpocket.
  • Goofy Print Underwear: Sekai steals her panties and teases her for wearing ones with a teddy bear design.
  • Master of Unlocking: She is skilled at picking locks and is usually the party's answer for getting past locked doors.
  • No Listening Skills: No matter how many times Sekai explains to Niña how his Time Stop powers or the event flags work, Niña seems to completely forget his explanation by their next conversation, acting surprised when he does the most implausible things "in an instant" or spends a lot of time doing nothing but waiting. This irritates Sekai to no end as he stops time to gripe at her in order to vent.
  • Reformed Criminal: She was arrested for thievery, but after Sekai gets her pardoned, she joins his party to get money legitimately through completing quests.
  • Super-Speed: Downplayed, but it only takes her roughly 7 hours to travel a distance that normally takes a day to travel. Whenever Sekai uses his time freeze to disappear, she catches up to him a lot faster than he expected.
  • Token Mini-Moe: She looks like a small child. Because of this, Sekai normally leaves her out of his perverted antics, usually only doing them to her if he is angry with her.

    Fury
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3_fury.jpg
A dark elf who reluctantly joins Sekai's party after he got her out of a death sentence.
  • Affectionate Nickname: When Sekai nicknames her "Fu", she says her father used to call her that.
  • Berserk Button: She gets really pissed off whenever Sekai asks how old she is.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: A group of assassins massacred her village and raped and murdered her little sister before forcing her to go on the run. She was so paranoid of them finding her that she hid in a cave and killed anyone who entered it.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She was very cold at first, but after realizing Sekai is a legitimate hero, she begins to open up.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: She worships the earth goddess Entoura and specializes in earth spells, usually by summoning a huge Golem in battle.
  • Hyper-Awareness: She is somehow able to tell when Sekai strips and gropes her while time is frozen. This is notable because almost nobody else notices. Elves in general have superior senses, enough to feel the slight shifts left behind by Sekai's actions.
  • Made a Slave: After Sekai arrests her for her cave murders, King Woz II Belltree sentences her to death. Not wanting her to die, Sekai purchases her as a slave to get her out of it. She is upset about it, but he explains he did that to save her life and he never actually treats her as a slave.
  • Ms. Exposition: She is very knowledgeable about magic and ancient legends and is usually the one to explain to the others.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She is busty and her usual outfit is an all white ensemble of boots, detached sleeves, a loincloth, a midriff-baring halter top, and a cape. Sekai frequently gropes her because of this.
  • Naughty Nuns: Sekai is really pleased to learn that her usual attire is standard issue for priestesses of Entoura when he sees other members wearing identical outfits.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: When she is forced to wear a bikini due to the laws of OffshoreRope, she gets embarrassed and tries to hide. Ironically, her regular outfit did not cover much either.
  • Ship Tease: With Sekei. The first time in OffshoreRope when Niña said Fury missing from the bed next to her in the night meant she and Sekei did something together resulting in her ears twitching and her blushing. The second time when she angrily interrupted Esther making Sekei grope her and almost make out with him.
  • Super-Hearing: She can hear things from far away.
  • Tragic Keepsake: The Keystone that she gave to Sekai so he can summon Gankichi used to belong to her deceased sister.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: She cannot handle transportation. She becomes sick when on a ship or even riding on Bahamut.

    Gankichi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4_gankichi.jpg
Sekai's golem who seems to have a mind of his own.
  • Golem: Sekai learned the golem summoning spell from Fury.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: He has shown tendency to find solutions to some problems before Sekai does.
  • Move in the Frozen Time: So far, he is the only character other then Sekai who can move while time is frozen as long as Sekai has summoned him after he stopped time.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Despite his size, he is quite strong.

    Bahamut
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5_bahamut.jpg
The King of Dragons, whom Sekai tames.
  • Breath Weapon: He shoots fireballs from his mouth.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: After Sekai humiliates him in battle, he surrenders and agrees to serve the party.
  • Humiliation Conga: When he attacks the party, Sekai learns his controller can somehow control him and uses that and his time freeze to mess with him over and over again.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: His design makes him a wyvern (he has wings for arms) and he can speak human language.

    Ranga Lang
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6_ranga.jpg
The chief of a mountain tribe who guards the Life Stone. When Sekai swallows said stone, she says she will keep following him until he passes it out.
  • Amazonian Beauty: She is tall and really buff.
  • Big Eater: She eats so much that Sekai complains about having to pay for her meals.
  • Boomerang Comeback: If she hurls her axe, it can fly back like a boomerang.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: When Sekai strips her, she is embarrassed at first, but then gets angry and marches forward to attack him, only stopping when he suddenly passes out right before she reaches him.
  • In a Single Bound: She can make great leaps, like down a mountain.
  • Put on a Bus: After the Life Stone bonds with Miria, she decides to stay on OffshoreRope to guard her. She promises Sekai that they will meet again and she will help in the final battle with the King of Darkness.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: When Leafa destroys her bra in a fight, although embarrassed at first, she decides she does not care anymore and will just walk around topless. Fortunately, Niña repairs her bra.
  • Super-Speed: She was able to follow Bahamut on foot.
  • Underwear Swimsuit: When the laws of OffshoreRope require her to wear a swimsuit, she simply walks around in her underwear, which is accepted.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Since she lived on a mountain her whole life, she becomes sick and vomits when on a ship. She also mentions she does not handle heat very well because she is used to living on the cold mountain.
  • Worthy Opponent: Calls Swordmaster Leafa one after a brief scuffle.
  • You No Take Candle: She talks like this, likely due to her isolated life.

Belltree

    King Woz II Belltree
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7_king_woz.jpg
The King of Belltree, who often assigns Sekai missions.
  • Quest Giver: When the party is in Belltree, he's usually the one to give them missions.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Given that he pardoned Niña just because Sekai asked, it is safe to say he's this.

Woz II's daughter.
  • Barrier Maiden: She has to pray for 100 days straight to repair a holy barrier meant to keep the Forces of Darkness out, so she must be guarded until then.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Niña is shown just as mesmerized by her beauty as Sekai is.
  • Hero-Worshipper: She greatly admires Sekai and is always dazzled by his feats.
  • Holy Hand Grenade: She's apparently the only member of the royal family to inherit holy magic from their ancestors.
  • Princess Classic: She is really beautiful, demure, and pure. Sekai is really attracted to her because of this.

    Prince Will Belltree
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/9_prince_will.jpg

  • Nice Guy: He is humble, friendly, and even forgives Fury for almost killing him the first time they met.
  • Warrior Prince: He is a knight who goes on adventures and fights evil.

    Princess Clau Belltree
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/10_clau.jpg
Woz II's other daughter.
  • Helmets Are Hardly Heroic: Unlike Will, she doesn't wear a helmet with her armor.
  • Humiliation Conga: After doubting Sekai's worth, she challenges him to a duel, only for him to instantly strip her naked in front of the castle, completely embarrassing her and forcing her to run away.
  • Magic Knight: She is skilled in both the sword and spells.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Despite her slender build, she is incredibly strong. Even after the buff Sekai freezes time so she can't fight back, it takes him over twenty minutes from his perspective to overpower her grip on her sword. He normally doesn't have any trouble moving people while time is frozen.
  • Pretty Princess Powerhouse: This princess is a skilled warrior. In her introduction, she mentions defeating bandits.
  • Rescue Romance: She started out hating Sekai's guts for humiliating her, but when he rescues her and her party from Dark Shoggoth, she falls in love with him and even tried to ask him to marry her. Too bad this made him panic and run away.
  • Ship Tease: With Sekei after he rescued her. She even asked him to marry her.
  • Shock and Awe: Her most common spell is Lightning Sword.

    Yelda
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/11_yelda.jpg
A mage and a member of Clau's party.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/15_cornelius.jpg

The Council of Swordmasters

    In General
  • Fantastic Racism: Many of them hate mages and say mages are just a bunch of freaks with unnatural powers.
  • Master Swordsman: It's a given when your title is Swordmaster.

    Swordmaster Leafa Colby
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/16_lafea.jpg
A Swordmaster who often crosses paths with Sekai's party.
  • All Amazons Want Hercules: When she realizes that with Sekai's "speed", he can kill her at any time, she becomes aroused at the thought of finally meeting a warrior superior to her.
  • Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: She's constantly boasting that she is unbeatable. She was like this even as a child. When Mirei offers her armor, she refuses and boasts that armor is meaningless because no one can hit her.
  • Bystander Syndrome: She refuses to help Sekai and his party defend Mount Cape from the ghouls and the Forces of Darkness because that was not in her mission.
  • Child Prodigy: She mastered swordsmanship at a very young age.

  • Muscles Are Meaningless: She is short and skinny, but she is practically invincible in combat. She can slice up giant monsters and block a strike from the muscular Ranga.
  • Named Weapons: Her sword is called Iron Slayer. In the English version, it is called Tetsuzan, which means "Iron Mine".
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: She gets really embarrassed when the laws of OffshoreRope require her to wear a swimsuit.
  • Smug Smiler: She is rarely ever seen without a smug smirk on her face, befitting her arrogant personality.
  • Smug Super: Her constant boasts that she is completely unmatched as a fighter are not unfounded, as she has yet to suffer a single loss in a fair fight throughout the series (with nearly all of her victories taking little to no effort from her end). So far the only times she lost were when Dark Shoggoth devoured her and she needed the help of Sekai and a bunch of clerics to break free and when Lovisa dropped her down a trap door.
  • Super-Speed: She is so fast that she can hit Sekai right before time freezes. She would have killed him if he had activated it any slower.
  • Surpassed the Teacher: She became better at swordsmanship than her teacher, Swordmaster Magnus, when she was a child.
  • Wall Run: She can run on walls to avoid lava.
  • Worthy Opponent: Calls Ranga one after a brief scuffle.

A mage and the royal advisor.
  • Bathing Beauty: During the Mount Cape arc, she had three separate bathing scenes.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Her breasts are roughly the size of her head. Sekai is really attracted to her for them and enjoys ogling and groping them.
  • Combat Pragmatist: She drops Leafa down a trap door and gloats that sometimes the smartest one wins, not the strongest.
  • Court Mage: She is a mage who serves the king and his father before him.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Since she knew Sekai can somehow instantly strip girls, she kept pieces of paper with important messages for him in her cleavage, her vagina, and her butt, anticipating he would try it with her. After she confirms that he did find them all, she calls him a naughty boy.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was a commoner orphan who never knew her parents before she became a mage.
  • Fantastic Racism: She seems to hate Swordmasters, given she banned them from the castle and attempted to murder Leafa for being one.
  • Good All Along: She seemed to be evil given she was practicing forbidden Necromancy and creating monsters and the ghouls threatening the kingdom, but it turns out that was an unfortunate side effect of her desperate attempts to resurrect King Tutoom so she could ask him how to defeat the King of Darkness.
  • Hot Witch: Sekai outright calls her this because of her beauty and outfit.
  • Karma Houdini: She gets away with creating the ghouls threatening the kingdom and outright trying to murder Leafa without any repercussions.
  • Marilyn Maneuver: Every time she performs her resurrection spell, it makes a gust of wind that blows up her skirt and exposes her panties.
  • Necromancer: This is what she was researching and trying to practice. Unfortunately, trying to perform a resurrection without the Life Stone results in the corpse turning into a monster and summoning an army of murderous ghouls that she has no control over.
  • Undying Loyalty: She was devoted to King Tutoom and follows his instructions even after he died.

    Thomas Bellucci

    The Triplets
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/22_triplets.jpg
A trio of triplet witches who specialize in brewing unique potions.
  • Blood Knight: They don't accept money for their potions. They'll only give them to someone who can beat them in a fight.
  • Bystander Syndrome: They refuse to help against the Forces of Darkness, saying they don't care. It is revealed that the League of Mages hired Otomi to investigate the elf village in the past, and she did not care what happened to it or its people. They finally drop this to lead a raid on the floating elf village which is bombarding cities.
  • Combat Pragmatist: When they challenge Sekai to a fight, they attack him as soon as he agrees. If he didn't have the Life Stone giving him a Healing Factor, the first attack would have killed him.
  • Comedic Spanking: Sekai defeats them by freezing time and repeatedly spanking them on the butt with a stick. When he unfreezes time, they yelp and collapse in pain.
  • Fire, Ice, Lightning: The aqua blue one blasts Sekai with ice. He speculates that the red one uses fire and the yellow one uses lightning, but he decides not to test it and defeats them immediately. Chapter 45 confirms that they do specialize in fire and lightning.
  • Flying Broomstick: They use these to get around.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: One wears aqua blue and has aqua blue hair, one wears red and has red hair, and one wears yellow and is blonde. They also wear their hair in different styles.
  • Mad Scientist: Otomi really likes experimenting and does not care what happens to her test subjects.

  • Really 700 Years Old: They claim to be over 200 years old, but look like young girls due to their powers and potions.
  • Scary Teeth: They all have shark-like teeth.

    Nawara Kitmaru
A man who fell into the Nether Gate years ago.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: About 150 years ago, he fell into the Nether Gate. About 72 years ago, he emerged with little time passing for him, only to discover his family had gone extinct while he was away.
  • Fling a Light into the Future: Unintentionally, but after recording his story, Sekai reads it and is inspired to use the Nether Gate to travel a few days into the future to avoid running out his timer.
  • Posthumous Character: He died of old age some time after he returned.

By the time she finds him, she is completely exhausted and collapses. Fortunately, during the return trip to her island, Sekai provides her with an MP restoring potion so she will not have that problem again.
  • Holy Hand Grenade: She can create barriers of holy light.
  • Honor Before Reason: Sekai gets her to use her holy barrier to weaken the Gagankel sisters during the Voh'ley tournament, but when she sees how much pain they are in, she refuses to do it anymore as it violates her oath to do no harm, even when Niña points out the island is at stake.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: She has pale skin and bluish-gray hair while her twin Mirei has dark skin and sky blue hair.
  • Rescue Romance: Sekai catches her when she collapses and later saves her ship multiple times from the Forces of Darkness, causing her to be smitten with him.
