[up][up] "Cuz I always get my best ideas when I'm wet" sounds more like an Accidental Innuendo to me, especially out of context.

Back again, I've been looking over the Power Rangers page, and oh boy does it need work. I'll come back later with my results, but the whole page could probably be cut.

All right, I'm going to go through Radar.Victorious. Based on previous discussion, I'm going to assume that Victorious, like iCarly, is aimed at tweens and younger teenagers.

Ratings from IMDb:

  • USA: TV-Y7, TV-G
  • Canada: G, PG
  • Australia: PG
  • New Zealand: PG
  • Ireland: G, PG
  • UK: PG, 12 (Series 2)

As ever, I am going to err on the side of caution and assume that every episode got the higher rating unless there is contrary evidence. This look contains some actual profanity, and a short rant about how porn isn't real.

I don't see a problem with this.

It should be noted that this page was made after 3 episodes.

That's a sure sign of shoehorning.

     Season 1
  • Pilot:
    • When Tori is going to change before the showcase, everyone rushes behind a screen to help her, including the guys. The only reason they didn't go behind the screen was because a teacher told them, much to their dismay, that only the girls could help her. Tori is beautiful and the lads want to get in with her. This is allowed.
    • Only seconds later, the teacher gives someone a mic telling her to put it on Tori's head, followed by Tori responding "that is not my head." Random silliness
    • In the end credits, where Tori and Mr. Sikowitz are describing The Slap, one of the things Tori mentions as being on the site is "videos that might get certain people in trouble." Blackmail, noodle incident
    • "Why are you rubbing my boyfriend?" I guarantee you this is innocent
    • Jade makes Tori's character a dog in their first improv exercise. What other name is there for a female canine? Jade just wants to humiliate Tori. This might be an Accidental Innuendo
    • Beck asking if 'the dog' (Tori) can sleep with him and Jade. He's treating her like she's an actual dog for funny.
    • If Jade hadn't messed up, the next letter in the alphabet improv would have been F. Wonder what she could have done with that ... Fool. Finished. Lots of words start with F
  • The Bird Scene:
    • Tori holds the coconuts at chest level. Shoehorning
    • Sikowitz's preference for good coconuts which give him "visions". Sikowitz is a hippie
    • Robbie's puppet, Rex, says "take me to the bathroom, I've got to pee now." Tori then says "he's a puppet, he can't pee!" The puppet then replies "you don't know what I got!" Think about what that implies for a minute. You get that, now spend another minute thinking about that more. Scary. Robbie has dissociative personality disorder and projects a more confident persona onto Rex. The joke is that "Rex" is acting like a real boy when he's just a puppet.
      • Sikowitz refers to Rex as "it." Rex responds by saying "you don't know what I got!" Jade gets a puzzled look on her face, then figures out what he means.
      • The funny thing is we do. In the next episode, Rex loses his pants. There's nothing down there.
    • When Tori does the Bird Scene the third time around, she trains a bird to fly in and out of the room on cue. When it flies in, we get this exchange: Again, he's a hippie, and this is general silliness.
Mr. Sikowitz: "You see the bird too?"
      Beck: "Yeah..."
      Mr. Sikowitz: "Fantastic..."
    • "My grandmummy went to the loo while I snogged the prime minister!" The censors must have been in a severe coma that day. Um, what? This is completely innocent. There are no rules against toilet humour, and characters snog on screen, so why do you think mentioning it is against the rules?
  • Stage Fighting:
    • This: Get your mind out of the gutter. Also Cat is a cloudcuckoolander
      Tori: "I'm a throat player!"
      André: "Doesn't count."
Cat: "And it sounds kinda gross..."
    • It's hard not to see the "girls can't fake passion like that" debate between Robbie and Cat as an analogy for something else. Passion is an emotion, it's unrelated to sex
    • Tori's "I'll pull it!" I guarantee you this is innocent.
  • The Birthweek Song:
  • Jade Dumps Beck:
    • After Tori helps Jade get Beck back, she asks for a ride home. Jade tells her it's "not that far a walk". The implication here is that she doesn't want to drive Tori home because Beck and her need some... alone time. This doesn't imply anything more than kissing.
    • An attractive paramedic asks Beck if he's in college (i.e. of legal age) yet. Nothing happens.
Woman Paramedic: (To Beck) "Hey, you in college yet?"
    Jade: "Bye!"
  • Tori the Zombie:
    • Cat and Trina sing a song about how they want some girl. It ends with this exchange: Noodle Incident
Trina: (singing) "You smell so fruity!"
      (pause)
      Trina: "Sing the next line."
      Cat: "I can't."
      Trina: "Why not?"
      Cat: "It's dirty..." note
    • Trina is on the phone to a doctor, discussing Tori's problem and asks "would I need my parents' permission to get minor cosmetic surgery?" After hanging up, Tori says "what did he say?" to which Trina replies "that I have to be 18 before I can make my -" and glances down to her boobs momentarily, as she is cut off by Tori. We've established that mentioning breasts does not violate TV-G
    • Tori, Trina and Sinjin all get excited about a vibrating hairbrush. It seems to be a common joke in Schneider's shows that people like things that vibrate. This is fine.
  • Robarazzi:
    • This scene takes place in Beck's car: Jade is afraid she stinks
Beck: "Come on, let's just go. It'll be fun."
      Jade: "Noo..."
      Beck: "Why not?"
Jade: "Because I didn't shower this morning and I had tuna fish for lunch..."
    • This conversation can be interpreted another way... It can be, but it shouldn't. Cat just wants a rich boyfriend.
Cat: Do you have a girlfriend?
      Sinjin: No...
Cat: Do you have a credit card?
      Sinjin: Yes.
Cat: Why don't you call me sometime?
    • Cat's electronic necklace she bought at the sky store seems to work like a rape whistle. ...So it's a whistle
    • "It's the ball freshener!" Accidental Innuendo
Lane: "Cat, I think we need to talk about this."
  • Survival of the Hottest (aka Trapped in an RV):
    • Upon finding out she isn't sweating, Tori feels Jade's neck, collarbone and forehead and just above the chest Jade intervenes with "You having fun there?" Jade is being sarcastic because Tori is annoying her
    • Cat has some fun with four boys she meets. Most of it is surprisingly wholesome, but there's one scene in which she has a water gun fight with the boys in a bikini. It's quite... interesting. Bikinis don't violate TV-G
    • Gangsta rapper Fat Biscuit and company come across Beck's RV, which used to be Fat Biscuit's. Noodle Incident
Friend: "Man, we had some times in there."
Fat Biscuit: "Yeah... Don't talk about it."
    • An exchange between Cat and one of the boys: They're talking about pottery
Boy: "You spun a beautiful pot."
Cat: "You helped me spin it..."
Boy: (suggestively) "Later we'll glaze it."
      Cat: "... Thank you."
    • Tori and Trina get into a fight after Tori discovers her secret bottle of water, complete with plenty of wrestling around on the ground. Beck and Andre look very amused. Shoehorning
    • Possibly Andre's "I'm sweating in places I didn't even know could sweat." Grandma's Chicken Salad
  • Wi-Fi in the Sky:
    • Jade's screen name, ScissorLuv, is the first major hint to Jade's obsession with scissors. Self-harm in a kids show? You bet. Jade is an emo goth
      • Especially coupled with her obsession with Tori, that could easily be a reference to something else.... Scissors do not violate TV-G
    • When Jade finds out Beck's dog-sitting for his cheerleader neighbor: Sounds more like Jade is just being possessive
Jade: "Why are you doing favors for a cheerleader, and what is she doing for you?"
    • Sinjin being in Jade's house. What he was doing there, how he got in and why Jade didn't file a restraining order against him is a mystery. There is nothing objectionable here
  • Beck's Big Break:
    • Tori says that she'll do anything to make it up to Beck. Jade bets she would. André starts playing porno music on his keyboard. This is a stretch
    • Melinda Murray's (male) stunt double starts hitting on Tori. Tori tells him she's 16, so he walks away. So nothing happens?
    • It's not hard to interpret Andre's obsession about never having been stung representing a different kind of 'stinging', especially considering how Jade gets stung early on. Although it's also reminiscent of Positive Discrimination, particularly the case from The Animal. ...Who the fuck calls it "stinging"?
    • Right before the end credits, Tori and Beck hug, and it becomes apparent he's touching under her shirt and grasping skin. No wonder Jade starts counting down when she sees them embrace. Jade is just being possessive
  • The Great Ping Pong Scam:
    • Tori kissed Sinjin on the cheek, to which Sinjin responds with: "Here comes that feeling." They're just kissing
      • He also admits earlier to having dreamt about Tori dragging him into a closet and needing a 'favor'.
    • Sikowitz's window-tinted van all the kids go into after their rally. Pedophilia-paranoia, anybody? I don't believe Sikowitz is ever portrayed as a paedophile
    • Tori comments that Jade's dress feels... warm. (Pause included.) So?
    • The song Tori sings "Tell Me that You Love Me" has a lot of suggestive lyrics, such as "Waking up beside yourself, tell me what you feel inside" Shoehorning
  • Cat's New Boyfriend:
    • When Tori says that she and Cat's new boyfriend have met (they used to date)... They're just talking about romance. Possible Accidental Innuendo
      Cat: Really, you know Daniel?
      Jade: Ohh, she knows Daniel.
    • People with a foot fetish had to enjoy the subplot... groups of people fondling the feet of Trina, Robbie and André, and the 'million tiny kisses' analogy, which they all find rather enjoyable. Dude, if we start applying Rule 63 to this trope, literally everything is an example.
    • When Jade and Beck are feeling André's foot, Jade looks at André as if she's considering to 'involve' him. What?
    • When Sikowitz sees the cheese fountain going off: What is objectionable about this?
      Sikowitz: "What the hambones?!"
    • This whole conversation: Shoehorning, and what is objectionable about Jade's face?
Jade: "(while Cat and Danny are dancing) Daniel ever spin you like that?"
Tori: "You wanna get slapped with a sausage?"
      Jade: "Sure."
      Tori: "No!"
Combined with the face Jade makes.
    • Sikowitz' hysterical laughter when Tori asks what kind of meat his sausage is made of. Sikowitz is silly
    • Jade: "I have recurring dreams that I reeeeeeally can't tell you about." Noodle Incident
  • Freak the Freak Out:
    • The lyrics to the song "Give It Up" are rather suggestive. It's about taking control. Maybe Accidental Innuendo
      Look at me, boy
'Cause I got you where I want you
      Isn't it so exciting?
Wanna shake you, wanna break you
Take the backseat, boy, 'cause now I'm driving
    • "Class is no place for swearing or vibrating." General silliness
    • Northridge girls 'should be an adventure', according to Sikowitz. I get the impression that Northridge girls being wild is a running gag, but there's nothing actually objectionable here
    • Jade, being Jade, is fascinated by Trina's blood. Blood is allowed
    • Jade tells Cat that her purse is made from "monkey fur", which reminds one of something else. No it doesn't.
      • When the girls, against whom Jade and Cat sing, take the stage one of them says "Enjoy us" to which Jade replies "Enjoy my monkey fur!"
    • Although chaste, Tori peeling off her disguise layer by layer seems to mirror a striptease routine. Girl you say at the start that it's perfectly chaste
  • Rex Dies:
    • Sinjin gives Tori his used Special Effects crew t-shirt. When she asks him what the stains on it are he gets very evasive. Noodle Incident
    • This exchange happens earlier in the episode: Sinjin and friends are heterosexual
Sikowitz: "Tori, I want you to work with Sinjin's team on special effects."
Tori: "Okay, but I know like, nothing about special effects."
      Sinjin: "We'll teach you."
(Tori turns around; Sinjin and his team give Tori lustful stares.)
    • The machine Rex gets sucked into "sucks" and "blows." That's what air-moving machines do. What the fuck else would it do?
    • Rex likes to make jokes about Robbie when he's naked. NPAF
  • The Diddly-Bops:
    • Cat comes to fetch Tori to help Jade. The problem? She can't get her boobs in the hamburger. Later on, Trina has the same problem. They're allowed to say "boobs"
    • "I heard the Waggafuffles' airplane fell on a mountain." Dark, but allowed under TV-G
    • Jade bribing Sikowitz with a dollar to "get to the point". A student bribing a teacher in any form is illegal. I don't think anything Jade does is intended as encouragement
    • André sitting alone drinking 'chocolate beverage' is suspiciously similar to an alcoholic. G-Rated Drug
    • The way Sikowitz accosts the students about doing The Diddly-Bops routine: People do lots of things for money. The fact that your mind immediately jumped to prostitution says more about you than it does about Dan Schneider.
"How would you kids like to do something... for money"
    • Jade writing a bad word on a kid's autograph, saying "I Write What I Feel!" We don't actually see what the word is, do we?
  • Wok Star
    • This exchange: This is a common expression. Not dirty
Mrs. Lee: "Don't get your underpants in a twist."
    Jade: "I'll twist your underpants!"
  • The Wood:
    • The title itself. Then there's the characters wanting to be on The Wood. Shoehorning
    • This faked phone call between Beck and Tori: Yeah, thing is, tickling is allowed, and this is more like general silliness
      Beck: "Guess what I want?"
Tori: "Aw, you want me to tickle your tummy?"
      • The entire "tummy tickling" conversation falls pretty firmly into radar territory:
Andre "Sometimes I do it to myself."
    • Jade's "you have a lot of things in there," coupled with that little Bite of Affection really cannot be construed as anything but a sexual come-on. Feels like a stretch
    • Trina and Robbie get squirted all over their faces and hair with white lotion. Accidental Innuendo
    • I'm getting ready to sneak a peek at THE WOOD! Accidental Innuendo
  • A Film by Dale Squires:
Tori: "Okay, Beck, let me have you on the couch..."
    Jade: "Girl..."
    Tori: "For the shot!"
Jade is possessive
  • The scene with Cat passed out (for pretend) on the floor, while they were filming: Grandma's Chicken Salad
Cat: "Can you please tell her not to slap me?"
Dale: "She should do whatever feels right."
  • The last scene of the film showed Jade's character cleaning off a bloody knife before putting it back in the drawer. They can show blood, and it's clear the blood is fake
  • Sleepover at Sikowitz's:
    • When Jade tells Andre that his character is pregnant, his first question is "who's the daddy?", to which Jade suggestively smirks. Shoehorning, general silliness
      • And when Andre's grandmother sees him in character her first question is "who did that to you?!"
    • When Tori lays a "Shut Up" Kiss on Rex, he turns to Robbie and says "take me home...!" Feels like a stretch
    • André implies that the dream that inspired Tori's character was...suggestive. Considering Tori's outfit, that's not surprising. André finds Tori attractive
    • One of the signs on the wall of Sikowitz's house says “Beware of Poker Players and Loose Women”. It's rather shocking if you can catch it. Don't know how they got away with that one. It's one joke
    • Sikowitz emphatically tells the remaining actors NOT to look under the bathroom sink, meaning anything from dirty magazines to drugs to... other things could be hidden there But since we don't see what it is, it's just something adjacent to Noodle Implements, and Sikowitz is silly
    • Really, most of the characters seem to fit some sort of popular fetish, from Jade's farm-girl routine to Tori's policewoman to Cat's flashback attire even to a pregnant Andre. Not to mention Beck plays a character "always invading people's personal space". Examples that amount to "Rule 63 exists are not valid
    • After the boy Tori's been chatting up at the sleepover leaves with Cat, Tori says, "And to think I was gonna let that boy eat my Raisin Bran!" Grandma's Chicken Salad

     Season 2
  • Beggin' On Your Knees: Cat getting calls from people who are severely injured in car accidents (one supposedly dies on the line). Even Rex was horrified at the idea. Feels more like Fridge Horror, and Cat being a cloudcuckoolander
    • Robbie's mention of how he's been in the bushes behind Tori's house. Multiple times. Sinjin later commends him on his bush choice. Noodle Incident
    • The whole scene where Trina is stretching out her jeans is one massive and glorious bit of Fanservice, particularly where she, in effect gives the dining room table a lap dance. I would bet good money this is incredibly mild and tame
    • Robbie makes it clear to a girl that his groin has healed after previously being kicked there. Groin Attacks do not violate TV-G
  • Beck Falls For Tori:
    • When Beck wears a dress, Cat says in a picture caption that Robbie wants a pretty dress made in his size as well. Crossdressing is funny
    • Robbie seems rather interested in Beck in drag. Moreso than for Tori in the same dress. Attractive Bent-Gender
      • Also, watch the workers on the platform as Beck goes to sit down.
    • Yeah, you know Jade likes it when her boyfriend gets smacked around. Jade is an emo goth
    • Watch carefully where Jade pins her Visitor's Pass on Rex. Groin Attacks do not violate TV-G
  • Ice Cream for Ke$ha:
    • Tori slowly pushing Trina's head below the surface of the water when she's in the bath. Troper, the censors bloody saw this bit
    • "Okay, this is actually causing me pain. And not the good kind." Jade is an emo goth
    • Did you even SEE the length of the dress Cat sported at one point? It was barely past her butt... some of the other episodes also sport some really short dresses as well. Are we seriously doing this? Legs are only against the rules in Muslim theorcracies.
    • Cat's dress mentioned above was actually a romper, but that point still stands. Oh look, natter
    • Cat talking about how Robbie let a bunch of little kids eat her is disturbing no matter what context you put it in. It's a dream. Dreams are weird
      • "It's not my fault that dream children find you delicious!"
    • The name for the flavor that they end up searching for at the end is "Funky Nut Blast." Accidental Innuendo
    • Jade talks about how they spent their afternoon 'violating pints of ice cream.' Are you seriously suggesting there is a rule against ice cream?
    • Trina with a pickle in her mouth bobbing her head to the song 'Blow' could certainly be interpreted as a reference to adult activities. Accidental Innuendo
    • What exactly did Trina do to freak out Ke$ha, who does not have a reputation as a prude by any means, when they were alone in Trina's room? Sounds like a Noodle Incident
    • Robbie gets beat up by a group of moms, because he offered their kids free ice cream, evidently coming off as a pedophile. But made even worse when you realize the kid isn't even 17 yet, and was chased into an alleyway by full grown adults and beaten up. He left in the daytime, but it was dark when he came back.. Robbie is a buttmonkey
    • To everyone above 18: Consider porn genres. Now consider this line from Jade: Shoehorning
    You gotta love big moms.
  • Tori Gets Stuck:
    • Robbie drops a bag with a pint of Tori's blood, which bursts all over them. Blood is allowed, and this was evidently donated, not the result of violence
    • Jade's line, "I'll get her dress off!" She sounds quite eager... She's eager about annoying Tori
      • She also says that she's keeping Tori's costume warm, which is sort of a Call-Back to a Radar moment in "The Great Ping Pong Scam" above.
    • When the gang arrives at the hospital: Jade is possessive
      Doctor: "Are you his girlfriend?"
      Jade: "No, are you?"
    • Sikowitz ends up playing Steamboat Suzy. Crossdressing is funny
    • Just what part of the body did Cat's brother paint purple? General silliness, Cat's brother is also a cloudcuckoolander
Cat: "One time my brother painted part of his body purple."
Robbie: "Why did your brother paint part of his body purple?"
Cat: "He had a job interview... (smiles and shakes her head) he didn't get it."
  • Prom Wrecker:
    • Jade asks Cat if her brother managed to get the 'stuff', which turns out to be a clown costume, a power drill, a parachute and 12 gallons of blood. Cat informs Jade that he did manage to get everything on the list. Jade is amazed that he managed to get 12 gallons of fake blood. Cat's response: "You wanted fake blood?" Noodle Implements, general silliness, Jade is an emo goth and Cat is a cloudcuckoolander
    • The blood was going to be used for Jade's one man show 'Clowns Don't Bounce'. This looks like natter
    • Andre comments that Doug's diaper "doesn't fit him too well." Cut to a shot of him dancing and quite clearly trying to keep his diaper up. Toilet Humour, NPAF
      • "I sing, I dance, I pee my pants!"
      • Also, when Andre points this out, there is what looks to be a censor blur over the genitals of Doug, maybe because he's got no support under there.
    • Rex is obviously hungover early on in the episode. ...He's a puppet, and an aspect of Robbie's mind
      • Considering the reputation Northridge girls have, it may be more than that ...
      • In the same scene, Rex has what looks like a hickey on his neck.
    • Sikowitz keeping his grandmother hidden and unconscious the whole time he's talking to Tori. Sikowitz is silly
    • Just before Robbie tries to ask Cat to the Prom, her giraffe makes a noise and she giggles, saying 'he's so inappropriate'. Cat is a cloudcuckoolander
    • Somehow, Jade manages to stuff a shrimp in Tori's bra. Schneider has a thing about bras, but this is allowed
    • Tori licks the top of Jade's soda can in anger, but Jade still drinks from it, with a suggestive smile. I really doubt this is suggestive
    • Jade manages to cut power to the lights and screen at the prom, then has a projector pointed at the screen showing disturbing images. Even forgetting that it's a Nick show, some of it is genuinely terrifying. It really isn't
    • Later on, Doug the Diaper Guy is crowned Prom King to Jade as the Queen. He sweeps her off her feet and carries her off bridal style, presumably about to molest her someplace more private. There's no indication he's going to do anything worse than kiss her.
      • There's a brief Panty Shot (of Jade- Doug is a walking panty shot) as Doug picks her up. I watched that scene and there's no way to see Jades knickers.
  • Locked Up
    • The episode is filled to the brim with Black Comedy, mainly involving Libyan civil war references. Not only does the leader resemble Gaddafi, Tori states that the beach was also taken over by rebels. Nothing objectionable here
    • Robbie is forced to sleep in the bathtub by Andre and Beck, and emerges under the girls' blanket during the night, scandalizing Tori and Trina; despite this, Cat greets him with an eager "hi!". He hid between/beneath Trina and Cat, both of whom are wearing very short shorts. Cat is a cloudcuckoolander, and for crying out loud stop complaining about the women wearing less clothing than nuns
      • Much later, Robbie tries to tell the guards that he's a boy and should be on the male side of the prison instead of the female side. The guards ask him to "prove it", complete with a creepy leer. Robbie decides it's for the best if he just stays on the women's side. Robbie is modest
      • Given that he was placed on the women's side in the first place, it could have been worse if he was placed on the men's side. But he wasn't
      • Somewhere in the middle of the episode, they speak about how the chancellor received his octopus from the prince of a foreign country, when Mr. Sikowitz says he went there when he was nineteen. The chancellor's adviser says that the place is beautiful, when Sikowitz says "Is it? 'Cause I don't remember one minute of that trip." This implies that he was either drunk or high during the trip. Sikowitz is silly
      • Earlier Sikowitz also said the same thing when talking about his visiting Yerba in his younger days. Sikowitz is silly
    • Jade almost getting killed or seriously injured by the female prisoner she angered. It seemed like, for a moment, their confrontation was over until Trina screams and we see the inmate wielding a large board, preparing to strike. Nothing that violates TV-G
    • Being pelted with rocks is apparently a game in prison. Nothing that violates TV-G
    • Tori's fixation on trying to get Jade to hug her continues, this time with enticing body motions. Then Jade drags her to the floor where they sort of, "struggle" for more than a few seconds. They're just hugging
    • Later in the episode, Jade says that she "likes it on the ground." In a screencap you can see Jade just barely glance up at Tori either before or after she says it. Jade is an emo goth
    • And then there's the whole blinding someone permanently thing even if, or maybe especially, because it's Played for Laughs. There are no rules against mentioning, or even portraying, blindness
  • Helen Back Again
    • The episode's title could be seen as a Stealth Pun of the phrase "hell and back again". No it can't. There's nothing stealthy about it. That's the whole reason it's called that. What is the objection here?
      • "Nothing warms my cockles more ..."
    • Jade's extremely disturbing re-audition. I doubt it's actually disturbing.
    • Tori and her mother are doing an interactive exercise that seem to mirror Ellen DeGeneres' use of the Shake Weight So?
  • Who Did It To Trina?
    • Rex to Trina: "You wanna know my two favorite things about you?" She even slaps him after that line... They're allowed to do that
      • If you look carefully, you can even see Rex's eyes drop to her chest.
    • Andrè wants to 'go play with Keeko'. No evidence they're doing anything more than kissing
    • All of Robbie's version of what happened. Shoehorning
"Hey Robbie, why don't you come backstage with me and help me do my makeup? Or whatever?"
  • Tori Tortures Teacher
    • Sikowitz checking his pants to see if he was wearing underwear. He's not. Sikowitz is silly
    • "You forgot to stroke it."note  The note says this is Grandma's Chicken Salad
  • Jade Gets Crushed
    • "Nice fingering." "I think it needs work" Might be Accidental Innuendo
    • Robbie's 'lyrics' for Andre's music. No context
    • Robbie has at least three standees of Cat, one of them explicitly called "Flirty Cat". He doesn't want to discuss what he does with them. According to The Slap, he has standees for all of his pretty female friends. Noodle Incident
    • This discussion: Shoehorning
Andre: Did you get my text?
Tori: Why would I be standing here at 3 AM?
Andre: I'm tripping out man, I'm tripping out.
    • Just the fact that Andre showed up at Tori's house at 3am in his underwear... But you can't see the good parts, so it's OK
    • The final solution - Andre redoes the song by find-and-replacing every mention of Jade with 'baby', then during the actual performance he just says it's for "my dog... I love my dog." The jokes write themselves. He quite explicitly wrote it about Jade. Saying it's about his dog is a humorously terrible cover story
    • Tori seems to have easy access to a Jade-replica costume, perhaps implying some strange behind-closed-doors activities... [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPMkL2CnVWs It's a wig and some clothes. This is fine
  • Terror on Cupcake Street
    • Cat's brother did something "inappropriate" at a parade and is now no longer allowed near parades, or horses. Noodle Incident
    • When Jade complains about being elbowed "in the lung," Robbie excitedly insists that he's going to get some ice for it. I doubt he's actually excited
    • The scene where Sikowitz described himself with his students (which he called "children") in a too familiar implication. It did not sound well to the police officers. Sikowitz is silly
    • A lone teenage girl's presence in pajamas talking to a bunch of thugs in the middle of the night in a bad neighborhood is surely one of the creepiest scenes that should not be considered to think about in real life. Fridge Horro doesn't count.
    • A thug who helped fix their tires showed interest in Jade, his eyes fixed on her and wrapping his arm around her. Sounds like general silliness
  • Blooptorious
    • Ariana Grande is, according to Christopher Cane, "as sharp as a shih tzu". Censors object to the word "bitch", not to comparing a specific girl to a specific breed of dog
    • Chris to Avan Jogia: "Well, I don't mean the bloopers from your bathtub." Toilet Humour

     Season 3
  • A Christmas Tori
    • Tori greets Andre "Ho ho to the ho!" It's a parody of a rap culture thing
    • The scene when the mechanical Santa topples over Tori, who struggles underneath to get out. Trina sees the scene but reacts like Sibling Rivalry over a boy instead. Shoehorning
    • About a dozen mentions of flocking around a huge tree. Then Robbie asks for a 'flock rag' after Trina accidentally sprayed the flock gun right in his face. Crosses the Line Twice doesn't even begin to cover that one. Grandma's Chicken Salad
    • Robbie thought Beck bought him a girl, who was actually Robbie's childhood bully that he wanted to 'tell off'. After they walk off, Robbie wipes his sweaty hand on the girl's back, right above her butt. Dude, you are paying a lot of attention to the girls' curvy parts
    • Cat's increased hyperactive and childlike giddiness can make one think she's over- or under-medicated. Cat is a cloudcuckoolander
    • The creepy man who follows Cat around with a cotton candy machine for her present. She pretends to get her hand caught in the machine, screaming. When she says she was joking, the man laughs and says "Kill me with a rock!" Cat is a cloudcuckoolander
      • Her initial reaction to the gift is to scream delightedly "YOU BOUGHT ME A MAN!"
    • The climax of the episode had Tori sing the lead, but is definitely overshadowed by the Sexy Santa Dress of Jade and Cat. There is nothing wrong with their dresses
      • Jade's got gloves and black stockings and her skirt is even shorter than Cat's so there ends up being a couple brief Panty Shots.
    • Jade has the lion's share of the episode's radar jokes.
      • When Andre knocks Robbie out of his chair, she muses "I bet that jingled his bells." Grandma's Chicken Salad
      • She is very ecstatic when Cat gifted her with new scissors. Then they talk about a movie titled The Scissoring, which is about a dead girl who awakens and brutally murders her best friends with scissors. This makes it a paranormal slasher, which is already not for kids by nature, but just take another look at that title. Shoehorning, and Jade is an emo goth
      • When Andre laments about his grade in music class: They're allowed to say that
Andre: How does a person go from an A to a D?
      • When she reveals herself as Tori's secret Santa, Jade flatly greets her "Ho ho..." and Tori dubiously responds "Ho." Accidental Innuendo
      • Tori's immediate distrust from Jade's sudden visit made her ask, "Did you bring your new scissors?" Jade then assumes a "frisk me" position, eagerly adding, "Don't be shy." She allows Tori to pat her around and true enough, Tori found scissors. It was Jade's old one, which she admits in a rather seductive tone. The camera angle on this scene calls back Jade's earlier snark on Andre. Shoehorning
      • Tori seems to briefly glance down at Jade's "area" before finding the scissors on her side. Grandma's Chicken Salad
      • The way she tells Tori to beg her for her idea sounds rather seductive as well. Shoehorning
  • The Breakfast Bunch
    • Vice Principal Dickers matches his attitude perfectly. So he's good at bargaining, then?
    • While discussing how much they all crave tacos during detention, Jade notices that Cat is being unusually quiet, accusing her that she "never had a taco" before, thus she is "pristine". Jade asks Cat, "Are you a....vegan?", and describes the joy of tacos in a sexual tone. Shoehorning
    • Later, tacos are depicted as a metaphor for marijuana, from the point Trina smuggles a bag of tacos into Tori's locker until the detained teenagers act all hyper and "run-dance" after having a taco feast similar to "The Circle". Does This Remind You of Anything?
    • Jade implies that Robbie had "shared a taco" with Tori once before, as evidence that he wasn't a "vegan". She could have been aware about Tori and Robbie's infamous drive-by acting exercise on The Slap. They're just eating tacos
    • Cat and Robbie succumb to Jade's peer pressure to being a "vegan", so they share eating a taco together, implying Their First Time. Scenes of a romantic relationship between the two follow suit. They're. Just. Eating. Tacos.
      • If "vegan" is a metaphor for virgin, what does it say that Cat and Robbie are the only vegans out of the six?
    • The taco threesome. Jade wants Beck to give Cat some hot sauce for her taco. Cat even coughs after ingesting the hot sauce, akin to cigarettes. They're just eating tacos.
    • Robbie defends his "petite" throat as "average", which could imply he's referencing another certain part of his body... They're. Just. Eating. Tacos.
    • Tori yelling "FORGET YOU!" to Vice Principal Dickers is a watered-down Precision F-Strike, also a nod on Cee-Lo Green's censored song title into Forget You, which was also used for Miranda Cosgrove's cover. 'Forget' is not a curse
      • Probably also a reference to edited for television versions of The Breakfast Club, where Judd Nelson's "Fuck you!" as the vice principal slams the door is usually watered down to "Forget you!"
    • Vice Principal Dickers taunting Tori in the janitor's closet had some definitely creepy harassment connotations. Whatever this is, it doesn't go beyond TV-G
VP Dickers: "I'm gonna make it shine. I'm gonna make it shine REAL good!"
    • Andre wants his older cousin to "get off his chiz". It's been established that chiz is a German sausage. Do with that what you will. "Chizz" is also used in Schneider's shows as a substitute for cursing
    • Just as they're leaving the school, Jade gives Tori a once-over. Shoehorning
    • "When you mess with the cow, you get the udders!" Beside the obvious usage of the word "udder" and the kids' confused looks implying some sort of allusion to private parts, Dickers just called himself a female cow, as they are the only ones with udders. For God's sake, children know about udders. They're the part of a cow that milk comes from. And Dickers is just being silly.
  • The Gorilla Club
    • Tori "beat the Balls of Pain". I guess this is Accidental Innuendo
    • One of Robbie's butt cheeks hangs lower than the other. Joke of the Butt
    • The Gorilla Club will "jank you up", and Tori is "not afraid of a janking." I se no cursing here
    • Sikowitz is talking to Tori via Video Mail while in his bedroom. Suddenly a female, offscreen, asks him to come get a sandwich. He gets off the computer mighty quickly. It's just a sandwich
    • Andre: "I think I just stepped in some blood." Blood is allowed
    • Sikowitz and Cat discuss places to meet troubled girls, like a home for troubled girls or the bus station. Cat is a cloudcuckoolander
    • The fact that the whole episode was about Tori practicing for a scene where she stabs someone in the neck while admitting to pushing her uncle off a cliff. It's called 'acting'
    • Cat suddenly decides she wants to play pirates, and Robbie offers to join her, but she says she doesn't like the way Robbie plays pirates with her. Grandma's Chicken Salad
    • Andre walks in on Sikowitz with his pants down (after Tori pulls them down in rage, which is... radar-y enough) and says "Good luck to you", implying Sikowitz is... well, you know. Comedic Underwear Exposure
  • The Worst Couple
    • When Cat hugged Andre when he answered the right question, he told her "don't start something you can't finish." What's wrong with hugging?
    • Lane walks in on Luthor the janitor holding a wrench and some rope with an unconscious Cat on the floor. Safe to say it doesn't look good for him. This is Not What It Looks Like, right?
    Lane: "Oh Luthor...why?"
    • Cat talks about having a 'closet party' in the janitor's closet. Cat is a cloudcuckoolander
    • When Tori finds out that everyone owned an updated GX cellphone after she had bought the one she refused to get throughout the episode, she curses "DOG JAM IT!" How is actual censorship censor-dodging?
    • Tori shocks Robbie with her phone, under the table. Doesn't she shock him in the knee?
    • Robbie holding down Trina near the end. Trina is on her stomach, and Robbie is on his stomach on her back, and his 'stomach' seems awfully close to her butt... Their positions aren't parallel, but still. Shoehorning
    • So, what exactly happened with Jade and the "friendly" dolphin? Noodle Incident
      • Dolphins are actually known to "rape" humans (and other dolphins) in real life.
  • Andre's Horrible Girl
    • Jade telling Cat in an "interesting" tone: Shoehorning
Jade: "But you owe me baby girl."
    • And later in the episode, Jade tells Cat that "Touching things is a part of life".
    • Robbie's "What's up, pigeons" sounds a lot like "What's up, bitches". No it doesn't
    • Andre's rude girlfriend "Hope" sounds like she's getting called "Hoe" quite a lot. Doubt
    • Beck saying Andre's scarf he got from Hope looks like a pretty leash, implying he may be Hope's dog/bitch. Comparing people to dogs is perfectly acceptable, and they don't use the bitch-word
    • Andre's "puzzay" watch and Robbie's "I've always wanted to see a puzzay." Shoehorning
    • Earlier, Beck didn't want to eat sushi with Hope and Andre, so he lies about him and Robbie having a "thing". Later on in the episode, when Cat calls both of them to help out with the damages caused by Jade, Robbie's pants are unzipped. What could they possibly be doing? Shoehorning
    • How does Jade know that Robbie has trouble operating the zipper on his pants? Jade knows a lot fo things, and this is a Robbie thing to do.
  • Car, Rain, and Fire
    • In the first two minutes alone, Cat mentions one of her favorite actresses was on a show called I Married My Mom which she watched with her brother at the "special hospital while they strapped him to his bed.'' This is supposed to be silly and ridiculous
    • Tori didn't get her drivers license because she ran over an old woman in a wheelchair. Offscreen car accidents are allowed
    • After Trina kisses Beck, he points out that she bit his lip. Her response? What's objectionable about lip biting?
Trina: I tried to bite both.
    • Jade becomes excited to join the girls in visiting a recently deceased actress to "inhale the fumes of her soul." Jade is an emo goth
    • "Oh my god, our car is ''topless''!" Allusions to nudity are acceptable
    • Cat's brother keeps a vacuum-sealed bag of fake feet in his trunk. Cat's brother is a cloudcuckoolander
Cat: I'm not gonna lie. My brother's pretty weird.
    • The creepy clown who asks Tori if he can ride with them from the gas station. There are no restrictions against clowns
    • "Well, it's hard to enjoy doing that when my pants are soaked" is said by Jade, which is a few letters away from meaning a different type of 'pants'. Grandma's Chicken Salad
    • When Cat tries to make sure her favorite actress isn't really dead like she first thought, she reaches forward, only to be swatted away by 'Don't poke that!'. Grandma's Chicken Salad
    • The girls being soaked by Mona's water gun doesn't really need an explanation... just watch it. It does need an explanation. And based on what I have watched, it's fine.
    • Cat's candle burned the house of the actress down by accident. There are no rules against fire.
  • Tori and Jade's Play Date
    • Tori gets some Marshmallow Hell from Jade twice due to her character in the play being a narcoleptic. Tori's character falls asleep. Women have chests, same as men
    • The deleted scene on theslap.com, where Jade yells at Tori's butt. Not in the episode
    • The lyrics of "Take a Hint" are suggestive as much as how Jade sings her lines as suggestively. The song is explicitly about sexual harassment but is in no way titillating
      • Get your hands off my hips, before I punch you in the lips, stop your staring at my — hey!
      • "It always seems to bite me in the . . ." "-Ask me for my number . . . "
    • Jade licking her lips as she walks toward Tori, as well as earlier appearing to slap Tori's rear end, during the song. No she doesn't
    • Jade elbows one of the guys in a tender area when he gets too close. Seriously, you need to stop poring over every single frame to see if anything is in the general region of the crotch
  • April Fool's Blank
    • The whole episode seems like one big acid trip. The entire episode is an April Fool's joke. I'm pretty sure it's just supposed to be weird.
    • The dance the ladies do while singing "Shut Up And Dance" for Mr. Drysdale (a married man probably in his 30's) is a bit suggestive. hot really
      • The lyrics are also rather suggestive, especially "Dance till we drop/'Cause I'm sick/Of the space in between/You and me/Light it up/Till we're making a scene/Quit the talk/Let it rock/If you know what I mean." It's fine
    • This exchange during the Beverly Hills Volcano bit: It's a joke
    Robbie: I say we kiss!
    Andre: Okay, c'mere.
    • Jade tickling Tori. Tickling isn't sex
Tori: I'm not in the mood. (suggestively slides her jacket up)
    • The game show sequence features Tori being repeatedly tackled and spanked by a giant lobster. Spanking is acceptable
  • Driving Tori Crazy:
    • "Wazz off!" Unusual Euphemism
    • The song that Trina and Cat sang in the car in Tori The Zombie is played all the way at the end, and we hear the "dirty" line that Cat refused to sing. And yes, it ends with "booty." Booty is treasure. It's a pirat thing.
    • Why does Beck keep driving multiple women in his car on the way to school? Because he's going in the right direction?
  • How Trina Got In (aka The Squid And The Coconut)
    • Cat keeps candy in her bra, which she pulls out and shares with her friends. Who eat it. She also eats a licorice still sticking out of her top. We established when looking at iCarly that bras are acceptable in a TV-G production
    • During Trina's audition into Hollywood Arts, Sikowitz drinks some bad coconut milk. From the looks of it, bad coconut milk is a hallucinogen... G-Rated Drug, and Sikowitz is a hippie
    • Jade describes Trina's audition as "Like torture. But not the good kind." Jade is an emo goth
  • Tori Goes Platinum
    • Cat mentions police found a stain in her brother's car, and they didn't know what it was (so we can rule out blood). Considering what cars are used for, other than driving... Noodle Incident, and Cat's brother is a cloudcuckoolander. Plus food stains things much more readily than sperm. Uh, ...Or So I Heard.
    • Tori excitedly jumps on Beck and hugs him, while also wrapping her legs around his waist, which appears like sexual simulation. Looks more like giving a really intense hug
    • Cat's addiction to "bibble" is a metaphor for addiction. Andre even suggests her to chew gum to counteract it, similar to Nicorette. Cat has a former bibble addict handcuffed to her just to prevent her from having bibble. The episode ends with both of them enjoying bibble behind a dumpster. G-Rated Drug. Also how can something be a metaphor for itself?
    • Andre walked in on Bruno Mars going to the bathroom and would not leave. Toilet Humour
  • The Blonde Squad
    • Cat's brother apparently gets 'special treatment' from 'special doctors' because it is 'court ordered'. What is objectionable about this?
    • Trina blew her nose in Tori's underwear because it's soft. Then, after she gave it back to Tori, who now stands in the middle of the hallway with a pair of panties in her hands, Cat comes by, gets upset and takes the panties, after which she proceeds to blow her nose in them. Trina and Cat both remark on the 'bigness' of the underwear. Panties are funny

     Season 4
  • Wanko's Warehouse
    • Sounds a lot like A Date with Rosie Palms (that might be the reason why in the UK and Ireland, the episode is simply titled "The Warehouse") Accidental Innuendo
    • Shortly into the episode Trina informs the group she needs to pee, its suggested she pee in the Bins but Trina refuses which causes Tori to point out that Trina had in fact pee'd in a bucket. Trina apparently thinks theres an important difference and refuses. Towards the end of the episode someone points out that Trina still needs to pee, she responds "no I dont". Trina pee'd in a bin. Girl, learn how to use an apostrophe. Also this is just Toilet Humour
    • Tori's text transition scene after the kids get trapped in the store reads "Trapped in Wanko's! WDFD!" "WDFD" is supposedly an abbreviation for "whoop-de-fucking-doo." The F stands for 'freaking'
    • Tori's measurement of how high the lowest laser is from the floor: 8 inches. And Jade seemed to know that rather quickly... What?
    • When Tori asks who's the flattest, and therefore able to slide underneath the lasers, Jade and Trina, who are definitely well-endowed as Schneider has noticed, give each other looks and step back. They're allowed to do that
    • "Think flat-thoughts". It's a twist on "think warm thoughts"
    • Cat mentions that his brother found a vacuum in the Church that he now keeps in his room and that they wouldn't want it back. It's well established that Cat's brother is a cloudcuckoolander, so this could mean anything
  • The Hambone King
    • As you may have guessed, a lot of gags involving "ham" and "bone" are thrown in there. Example: "He's the best hamboner there is!" Shoehorning
  • Opposite Date
    • As Tori and Beck are sitting on the curb eating food from a truck, she asks him about one of the food items, "are these clams?" To which Beck responses, "Are clams supposed to have hair?" No, troper, this isn't a big brown dick, it's a cigar. See how I'm smoking it?
    • Cat repeatedly winks at Tori when the latter is talking about her non-date with Beck, implying she thinks it might mean she's having.. other activities... with Beck Cat is a cloudcuckoolander, and those "other activities" are just kissing
    • When Jade pretends to be Cat over the phone for the second time, she says that Cat's brother locked her in a closet and screams when he returns; both give off some pretty disturbing implications. Jade is an emo goth and Cat's brother is a cloudcuckoolander
    • The dog ointment scene involves a lot of talk about the "afflicted area." Left to the imagination, but judging by how uncomfortable the two are talking about it... Sounds more like grossout humour
    • André: "Enjoy the bone!" He's talking about an actual bone, isn't he? Maybe Accidental Innuendo
  • Three Girls and a Moose
    • Cat looking down at her chest when Moose says girls in Canada are "bigger". They're allowed to say that
    • Jade stops her car with Moose inside, then proceeds to kiss an oblivious Moose (who as it may be pointed out, rejected their courtships in the first place). When asking if they can get a burger after, Jade says "We'll see...." It's just kissing
  • Cell Block
    • Apparently Cat will do anything to use a phone. Yeah, that... You mean she'll do the thing Meatloaf won't do for love?
    • When Robbie is on the ground typing with a typewriter he tells Andre that he can't have it on his lap because it will crush his "swimsuit area" Nothing that violates TV-G
    • When Tori sits on Cat to stop her from reaching her phone and Cat is struggling, Tori tells her to stop (struggling) while spanking her, which is radar-ish enough, but Cat also giggles at it. SPANKING IS A PUNISHMENT! IT'S FUCKING PAINFUL! IT'S NOT A SEXUAL THING! PORN ISN'T REAL, YOU IDIOTS! PORN DOES NOT REPRESENT NORMAL HUMAN SEXUAL BEHAVIOUR! Also Cat is a cloudcuckoolander
  • Tori Fixes Beck and Jade
    • Sinjin: Sure, I would love to turn you up a little. I guarantee you this is innocent
    • Jade: Enjoy her cupcakes! (refering to Meredith) I checked the wiki and Jade is talking about actual cupcakes
    • Jade says she likes to punish herself, further hinting at masochism and an S&M fetish. Jade is an emo goth
    • Robbie: That was not my fault; he asked me to lift him over the fence so he could pet the tiger.
      • About his little cousin. Cat doesn't say whether or not the child got hurt, but in real life, he could have been killed. TV does not accurately reflect reality
    • Robbie sticking a banana in Cat's ear could be seen in a more mature light for some people. No, this banana isn't a penis either. It's a fruit.
    • Cat: No I don't wanna see that thing again, put it away! Having a banana in your ear is certainly annoying.
  • One Thousand Berry Balls
    • At one point, Jade sarcastically asks if Cat wants to hide in her bra. Cat checks, then realizes "that would never work". Cat is a cloudcuckoolander
    • Burf spots Cat's hot dog in the punch bowl and shouts "wiener in the punch!" The partygoers look at him grossed out. Hot dogs are called wieners in America, or at least in the Nickverse. The same word is used in iCarly
    • Sinjin in a hula skirt and coconut bra. Crossdressing is funny
  • Robbie Sells Rex
    • Robbie is repeatedly called a "doof bag". Do I have to say it? Minced oath
    • Cat's text transition screen showcasing her addiction to bibble, aka that cheese/caramel/whatever popcorn combo mentions that she'll "do anything for some bibble.....ANYTHING." Shoehorning
    • Jade is trying to catch the flour bomber by walking through the school in an expensive and beautiful dress. She informs Andre and Beck that she's going to wrestle the flour bomber to the ground. Andre finds Jade attractive
    Beck: He might like that.
Andre: I'd like that. (Jade and Beck glare at him) I wouldn't like it.
    • Could count as a Call-Back to Jade Gets Crushed.
    • When Robbie gets Rex back, Rex won't look at him. Rex is a PUPPET! And this is just silly because it looks like romance
Rex: You were with another puppet
Robbie: Yeah, but it was just for one night!
    Rex: Do you love him?
    Robbie: You mean Goonter?
    Rex: Don't say his name!
    Robbie: No! I was just...alone
    • Beck's comments about how the flour gets everywhere... everywhere. Yes, and?
    • Tori getting into a slapping match with a Ten-year-old girl. Slapping is allowed
    • The little girl egged Sikowitz's tummy, but she claims she was aiming lower. Judging by the gaping mouths of Tori and Sikowitz, we can assume she was aiming at his private area. Groin attacks are allowed in TV-G
    • How did Tori get Rex back from the Spoiled Brat? Simply find a girl about his age and get her to honeytrap him. It's just romance
  • The Bad Roommate
    • The fact that Andre moves in to Tori's house and they both fight as if they are a couple filing for divorce is rather evident. And in no way against the rules of TV-G
    • Andre sticking Tori's phone down the front of his pants and Tori's face and "Eww" when she gets it back. Toilet Humour
  • Brain Squeezers
    • Reportedly, the cast almost got fired filming this episode. That alone should tell you something right there. Citation very much fucking needed, as evidenced by the natter that follows
      • Really wish we could get more info on this. It would have to be that they would get fired since the creative team got in trouble, though someone higher up had to approve the script.
      • And yet there's episodes here with twice as much? Come on, people, I think we can do better than this!
      • This is hard to believe. I don't know that such a thing has happened in the history of television.
    • "NO! I don't want to be Doinked, I'm not ready!", said by Cat. Sure, she's referring to the dangerous things done to them, but it does strongly remind you of another meaning... No it doesn't. And who the fuck calls it "doinking"?
    • The way Jade says to Tori about the latter's Brain Squeezer's team "If you don't pick me, something realllly bad might happen to you" could be taken as a general threat or, knowing Jade's history, another way Shoehorning
  • The Slap Fight
    • This exchange: General silliness
Tori: I was supposed to meet Andre and Beck and Jade, Cat, and Robbie at 7:30 here to shoot our short film.
Sinjin: Well, Robbie's in the janitor's closet.
    Tori: Why?
Sinjin: Hey, I don't ask people why they're in closets.
    • Jade saying "Your socks and Violins!" in their short film sounds a lot like "sex and violence" Shoehorning
    • The line Andre says in response to Tori saying she wanted more followers than Trina. He doesn't say the Hell-word
"Well, how the helicopter did your dang sister get so many followers?"
    • Cat 'knows' that Robbie doesn't have butt pimples. When has she seen his butt? Joke of the Butt, and this is Cat we're talking about
    • Tori is being mean to Cat, prompting Cat to post a status about her: Vague enough not to be an issue
Cat: Tori... is being mean to me... hashtag cramps? (Tori looks shocked)
  • Star Spangled Tori
    • Robbie repeatedly offering Jade "thigh cream" for her sore legs. I guess we should be grateful he didn't offer to apply it himself. Grandma's Chicken Salad
      • And when Jade smears it all over Robbie's face, it looks...well... Shoehorning
    • Jade mentions that it’s embarrassing to mess up the National Anthem. For an example, she says how a girl messed up by instead or saying “And the rocket’s red glare” she said “And the cockpit’s red hair”. Sikowitz adds that she was laughed at so hard because of this mistake that she had to leave town. Considering the Unfortunate Implications of those made-up lyrics, it’s no wonder she was so humiliated. Accidental Innuendo
    • Tori mentioned that the St. Bernard that humiliated her on TV might have wanted her as his "girlfriend". That alone should give an idea what he tried to do. That's a stretch
  • Victori-Yes
    • The main plot's dare is that they have to say yes to pretty much everything. Every though Sikowitz specifically says they don't have to say yes to kissing, anything dangerous or illegal, that's still a planet's worth of radar material. So they don't have to say "yes" to anything that might possibly trip the radar, then?
      • Then there's the ending bit where Robbie and Cat have to give up their all-in-one clothes to muggers, actually calling attention to the fact that doing so would leave them in their underwear... which they do. We don't directly see anything risque, but they are hiding behind garbage cans, and it's quite clear they really meant only underwear (you can see Cat's bra straps). Robbie eventually offers to 'snuggle', and while Cat laughs, she says 'gross'. Naked People Trapped Outside
      • And worse, Cat and Robbie have to ride home in a small garbage can together. The only thing that would make it complete was sexual tension.
      • Also during that scene, Cat's shoulders are mostly obscured (either by shadows or Robbie's arm). However, there's a brief moment when they're both going "Wheeeee!" that Robbie's arms lift... and while it's hard to see correctly, Cat's bra straps seem to be gone. You're looking too hard. This is a goof if anything. Plus, even IF it's true, it's much more likely to be an accident
      • Despite both scenes being brief, neither Cat nor Robbie actually seemed to mind seeing/being seen by each other in their underwear...
    • Beck tells Tori that he plans to use the dare to trick Jade into doing something. Tori says "I don't think I want to hear the rest of this." (For the record, Beck was talking about getting Jade to go to a drag race with him, but it's clear by Tori reaction that she thought it was something else.) Noodle Incident

TheSlap.com

  • More evidence that Jade and Beck are doing more than kissing:
Jade: Beck won't let me sharpen my fingernails into points. I swore I wouldn't claw him up... too much. What's his deal?
    • And from Stuff Jade Hates #Blah:
Jade: "...and not the good kind of disgusting."
    • And in "Jade Hates Even More Stuff" video, Jade is wearing the same shirt Beck wears in the opening scenes of "The Wood." Given the above and the fact that Beck lives alone in an RV...
  • Cat occasionally brings cute boys up to her room for 'interviews'. It's really just her trying to seduce them.
  • Tori and Robbie's drive-by acting exercise involve Robbie performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on a conscious Tori repeatedly. Sikowitz gets a total knack about the exercise. Robbie seems to enjoy himself and Tori ends up giving him a sneak Groin Attack before bailing out.
  • Tori compliments Jade on her looks way more than is appropriate.
  • There's a video where Robbie sings a song for his first love . . . a monkey.
  • In the newest "Cat's Random Thoughts" video, she makes a hammock out of her bra. And then puts two tomatoes down for a nap in it. Also, she says, "Mr. Spock, you are so Vulcan weird."
  • "Tori Takes Requests" Glue Hand video. Just listen to the audio as they peel off the glue. More Foe Yay?
  • Trina, in an open letter, examines comments on one of her previous videos.
"Oh! Here's one! With the 'suggestion' for me to do a little something that's, uh... that's physically impossible. Reeeeeaaaally nice."
"Oh! Look! Another comment just came in! It says 'Just listened to your song. Now my ears are bleeding. Thanks for making my ears bleed b-' ...A-and then it says something really... really very very rude. Thanks for the vicious cruelty!"
"And to the one person who wrote the sorta nice comment about me, which had nothing to do about my singing, thank you! ...But no, I won't!
  • Trina's latest status puts her status as "Wazzed".
  • Jade likes to watch Cat sweat when she eats.
  • During the second Tweet Time with Cat, Cat is asked about important qualities in a boyfriend.
Cat: "The most important qualities when you're picking a boyfriend are..." (starts giggling) "No, I can't say that... He should be really nice, and smart, and that's all that matters–" (can't hold back laughter)
  • Cat trying to juice a potato with her hands.
  • The latest "Jade With Tots" ends with Jade interviewing Beck. They start making out, with Jade on Beck's lap. She turns off the camera, leaving the rest to our imagination ...
  • Rex on what he hates about black Friday.
"Mall Santas. I don't wanna sit on some grown man's lap? Why not a cute lady elf? I'd sit on her lap."
  • Robbie's most recent status:
Robbie: Beck just let me hug him. What a wonderful holiday moment!
Beck: I told you not to put that as your status.
  • In the newest "Tori Takes Requests" video, she is shown to be taking a study break with Robbie and she explains the concept of her request videos to him. He leans in and whispers very seductively "I have a request..." in her ear.
    • Thus followed by the request being whether one can play tennis indoors wearing a bikini. Tori wants to do a different request but Robbie is adamant that she has to do the top request. She decides to make Robbie wear the bikini instead.
      • After Trina is knocked out by a ball, Tori and Robbie crawl away. We almost got a Panty Shot from Robbie as he crawls away. One also has to wonder why he had a bikini with him anyway.
      • It's probably more likely that the bikini belongs to Trina or Tori, not Robbie.

None of this stuff is part of an episode. The age ratings only apply to the episodes themselves, not to supplementary material. We have no idea what Nickelodeon's internal standards might be, or if those standards apply to websites, and so we can't say whether any of this is against the rules.

Eesh. That hurt me. Physically hurt me. I actually banged my head on the floor at how ridiculous some of these are (don't worry, my floor is carpeted and I didn't bang too hard). The tropers who wrote these examples have a weird obsession with the lengths of the girls' skirts and the positions of their crotches, and have a view of women's clothing comparable to that of Catholic priests in 1960s Ireland.

A few of these examples appear to be salvageable by puttin them on other tropes, but the majority will just be deleted.

I just want to comment on the porn rant by pointing out that some people are legitimately into things like being spanked. It's a similar kink to things like BDSM. Some people are turned on by the domination stuff and the pain.

I'm not saying that example is valid. I'm just saying that it's not just a porn thing.

Well, for starters, there's a game on Roblox that's titled Mime Theme Park Hangout. The catch, however, is that it's based on Mime and Dash... an NSFW animation by Derpixon. (Yes, I know about this. I blame going around the internet too much).

All right, let's round out the Nickverse with a look at Radar.Sam and Cat, which notoriously had a Radar/ page before the show even aired. Fortunately for my sanity, Jennette McCurdy quit acting after the first or second season (depending on how you slice it), so there are far fewer examples.

Age ratings from IMDb:

  • USA: TV-Y7, TV-G, TV-PG with content warning for suggestive dialogue and sexual situations.
  • Australia: PG
  • UK: PG (Season1), U (Season 2); because Sam & Cat only aired on Netflix, the show was not directly rated by the BBFC; instead, Netflix did an internal rating, which they report is to the same criteria used by the BBFC.

As ever, I am going to err on the side of caution and judge each episode according to the criteria of the highest rating listed unless given evidence that particular episode garnered a lower rating. As with iCarly and Victorious, occasionally showing a bra or mentioning breasts is acceptable under the U rating.

It's good to note that this page was created before the first episode even aired. (What can we say? Dan Schneider has a reputation and we're Genre Savvy.) This is going to be nothing but shoehorning, isn't it?

"#Pilot"

  • "How much Bieber did you sniff?" This is just silliness
  • "Hey, quit sniffing the Biebes" a drug and sex joke all on one prop. Sounds more like they're just being silly
  • "I'm gonna faint!... Or puke!... I'm gonna fuke!" Portmanteau, not a real curse
  • Cat accidentally slaps Sam in the boob. The show doesn't make a big deal of it, but Sam is visibly less than amused. Tropers are obsessing over things being in the general vicinity of women's chests
  • Chloe and Max: "Our mom already left for work. She dances near the airport." The second line only appeared in a promo, and was cut from the episode, understandably. Doesn't break radar if it's one joke that isn't even in the episode
  • Sam and Cat's method of 'CPR' involves one of them raising and lowering a guy's legs while the other bounces on his chest with her butt. Then they switch. Cat is a cloudcuckoolander and Sam doesn't know how to do CPR

"#FavoriteShow"

  • The titular favorite show, "That's a Drag". It consists of cross-dressing characters. Drag. You do the math. Crossdressing is funny
  • When Sam is looking through the TV guide, one of the show titles is 'Extreme Groin Injuries'. Comedic, unrealistic violence
  • Bob's hugging and Ethan's questions frequently bypass the radar. Doubt
    • Sam gets annoyed with Bob and sends him off to hug a stranger.
  • When Cat yells "SHUT THE FRIDGE?!", at first it sounds like she was beginning to say something else... Doubt
  • Sam and Cat share a "butt bump" at the end of the episode ("Roommate power!"). What. Joke of the Butt

"#BritBrats"

"#NewGoat"

  • The little kids' prank call to Inside Out Burger includes such lines as "How big are your buns?" and "Are your buns firm?" Joke of the Butt
  • Sam tells Dilben to "suck a truck." Trucks are not dicks

"#TextingCompetition"

  • At the start, Sam teaches a kid how to speed text by rolling his thumb, using an example of "Waz." Cat then cheerily explains how Sam frequently texts Cat of her wazzing, while she's wazzing. Waz is a funny word
  • The discussion of Dice's annoying friend: The natter says they're talking about actual eggs
Sam: Wow, he's really sucking down that egg.
Dice: Yeah, cuz he loves 'em. All he does is eat eggs.
  • A Zoolander reference when Sam and Cat win the RC boat. Parental Bonus

"#BabysittingWar"

  • At the start, a dog bursts into the living room where Sam's sleeping and sits on her head. She immediately assumes it's Cat. From what we've seen of Cat, this isn't outside the realm of possibility
  • Sam and Cat's fight at the restaurant has their legs interlocking, and at one point Sam straddles Cat for a second. Accidental Innuendo
  • Sam holding two motorcycle helmets up at around her breasts and asking Cat if she was expecting them. Things in the general vicinity of breasts
  • At the very end Cat and Sam discuss whether or not they could use the Urinal on Sam's wall. Toilet Humour
Sam: "It would be difficult...but not impossible"

"#BabysittingGoomer"

  • An Adult male staying alone with two underage females probably only by passed the radar due to the mental state of the male. Oh not every man is a paedophile. Also aren't they 18 by this point?
    • Made worse when at one point he jumps in bed with Cat and then later grabs one of the girls' bra that had been left hanging out. Bra
  • Goomer pushing Cat under the table looks like something a grown man shouldn't do to a teenage girl. Doubt
    • Cat also took a picture of Sam's legs while down there.
  • Sam having to explain to Cat what a low blow is. Groin attacks do not violate the radar

"#ToddlerClimbing"

  • Yet again, Cat winds up on top of Sam. We probably should just stop bringing this up, you know it happens at least Once an Episode. Shoehorning

"#MommaGoomer"

  • When meeting Goomer's mom, Sam asks Goomer if he met his mother (calling her this pretty lady) on scrumptiousladies.com. Goomer responds by saying "That's just sick." Sounds like a funny misunderstanding
  • Pretty much everything Ms. Merr says and/or does. ZCE
  • Cat: "Like when the three wise men brought baby Jesus" Cat is a cloudcuckoolander

"#BabysittingCommericial"

  • Nona asks Cat if the "Mustard-aid" came from a horse, implying that it's urine. Toilet Humour
    • in the German dub, she literally asks "Is this horse urine?"
  • The whistle Cat uses when the guy running the dog shelter tried to hug her was a lot like a rape whistle. Whistles aren't the issue
  • The dog and Alexis are in a sexual position at the dog contest. Doubt
  • Sam says "I ate so much wad" (popcorn held together by honey). Accidental Innuendo

"#SecretSafe"

"#MotorcycleMystery"

  • At least half a dozen uses of the word nipple (in reference to part of a baby bottle) in the first two minutes. That's what it's called.

"#PeezyB"

  • From Sam acting like she caught Cat cheating on her to Sam giving a girl to two men who are going to Mexico, this whole episode is one big ol' Radar Jump. The joke is that they act like they're married when they aren't
  • Sam and Cat's argument sounded like a married couple would do in "#PeezyB". The joke is that they act like they're married when they aren't
Sam: I'm out working all night and I come back and find you with another girl?!
Cat: What did you expect?! You work all the time, and I have needs!

"#SalmonCat"

  • The repeated use of Unusual Euphemisms such as Bijon and fudge. Ratings agencies only care about actual cursing

"#DollSitting"

  • Sam chasing Cat around the living room saying "Daddy loves you!" in a seriously creepy voice. Sam is a jerk
  • Dice greeting the girls with "Happy Halloween, witches!" It's Hallowe'en. There are witches. And calling someone a witch is allowed

"#Twinfection"

Cat: When I say Aybra Kadaybra-
Sam: You told me to stop making fun of your A-bra. *An offended Cat covers her breasts*
Breasts
  • For one thing, Cat's trick involved making Sam think that licking chicken did weird things to her head... General silliness
  • Then on Sam's end, during Melanie's second 'attack', she full-on kissed Cat on the lips. And no one denies that this happened in the slightest. Doesn't violate PG.
    • In fact, it becomes a minor plot point in Sam's plan.

"#MyPoober"

  • Sam's apparent addiction to root beer resembles stereotypical alcoholism. G-Rated Drug
Sam (yelling at Cat): I drink root beer because of you!
  • Again, a young girl is left alone with an adult man, this time in a shack in the middle of an empty cemetery at night. Does he do anything objectionable? Seriously, most men aren't sexual predators
  • Spanish is the vehicle used for getting this bit past the radar in a bonus scene during the credits. Comedic, unrealistic violence that doesn't happen on screen and doesn't violate PG
Sam (at Cat): Si no encontramos nuestra piña llena de dinero tendré que agarrar las tijeras y cortarse los dedos de los pies!
Translation: If we don't find our pineapple full of money I will have to grab the scissors and cut off your toes!

"#BlueDogSoda"

  • The fact that the lab that Sam, Cat, Dice and Goomer use to make the illegal Blue Dog soda looks a lot like a meth lab. And it exploded like one too. Sounds like it's a Breaking Bad reference, which means it falls under Parental Bonus

"#TheKillerTunaJump"

  • Cat's Green-Eyed Monster jealousy of Sam and Jade's new friendship comes off sounding more like a jilted lover than of friendship. That's the joke
  • Cat seductively asking Freddie if they want to hang out. Just romance
    • The two of them flirt in Spanish.
  • Robbie accuses Freddie of Fadoodling Cat all around Hollywood. Quite possibly the most blatant sexual reference on a Nickelodeon show follows: Vague enough that it doesn't violate U
Freddie: I didn't fadoodle with Cat!
Cat: You could have if you wanted to!
  • Jade kicking out the boys out of a table with just a stare. While the boys flee in terror with that very look, it looks more seductive and arousing than it is terrifying. But it's supposed to look scary; Liz Gillies just has a very seductive air about her.
  • After Sam kisses Robbie, she says sultrily, "That was some tasty Robbie." They're just kissing
  • After Cat locks Sam in a closet and dresses in a stunt outfit in order to jump the killer tuna in her place, Sam points out that people will recognize her since they don't have the same body type. This leads to Cat grabbing two oranges and stuffing them in her outfit, making her chest stick out. Right before she leaves, she says, "Yay boozums!". (Watch for the oranges after the bike wreck.) Breasts

"#BlooperEpisode" has so much: Look, this is a blooper episode, so it's all accidents. None of this is intentional, and even if it was put on screen, the tone is "Look what happens when things go wrong!"

  • Sam licks Cat's mouth at one point.
  • Sam grinds against Cat during the Dance Party Ending.
  • Merf starts trying to shove his face up Cat's skirt.
  • Sinjin from Victorious kisses both Cat and Zoran on the forehead. Their faces after this are priceless.
  • Ariana Grande does a lot of twerking between takes.

"#StuckInABox"

  • While in the box, Cat complains to Sam that she has an itch that she can't reach. Sam tells her to rub the part of the body that itches against the box, and Cat's noises she makes during and after this is downright hilarious. So it's an itch in that spot between the shoulder blades. Sounds more like Cat is just geting a really good scratch
  • A teenage customer and the teenage magician has a conversation which involves this crude joke: Grandma's Chicken Salad
    Magician: It then disappears!
    Customer: The shirt?!
    Magician: No silly, the ink!
  • Dice and Goomer's faces when they think that Sam murdered the teen magician are priceless. The way the paint was spilled looked like Sam snapped his neck! No actual violence, doesn't violate U, let along PG

#SuperPsycho

  • They get this out of the way early on with Cat trying to soak apples in cranberry sauce. She calls them 'crapples'. Portmanteau, Scunthorpe Problem
    Cat: How's it taste?
    Sam: Like crapple.
  • This moment: Breasts
Nevel: Wrong, sir![Sam glances down at her chest]

#KnockOut

  • To help Goomer, an adult male, prepare to ask out Rita, an adult woman, Sam gets Cat, a teenage girl, to pretend to flirt with him. Including putting her hands on top of his. It's little wonder he legs it Isn't Cat 18 by this point?

[up]Is "crap" allowed on Y7? I guess Ren and Stimpy used it back then... though most of what I recall saves it for PG, and this show doesn't seem to have a language warning in your given American ratings ("suggestive dialogue" is different).

Went through the Power rangers page and ho boy. Here's what's on there:

  • Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers:
    • In "Green with Evil, Part IV", when Those Two Guys Bulk and Skull are caught in yet another monster attack:
    Bulk: I Want My Mommy!!
Skull: (without thinking) Yeah — I want your mommy!
(Bulk shoots him a look) Common joke in most kids shows. Hardly Radar worthy.
    • In one episode, a harmless monster called Pudgy Pig spends most of the episode on a farm courting a regular female pig. He asks her to "come to the pig sty and make beautiful bacon together". It doesn't take a genius to figure out what he means... maybe? romance isn't exactly bannable in kids shows and it's really more inferred by w/e
    • And on the topic of their monsters...How the hell did the Bloom of Doom get past the radar? We can't be the only ones who see that. looks like a flower to me. This is a strech
    • The last episode of Mighty Morphin Season 1 contains a monster that looks very phallic and shoots pink goo. Not everything is freudulin. Not every phallic looking thing is sexual.'
    • "Lights, Camera, and Action" has Rocky making the following remark:
Rocky: They (the Power Rangers) really reached out and touched me! [1] the link even confirms it.
    • What makes that better is the sly look he gives Adam before delivering the line. this is just bulleted wrong.
    • Zedd ultimately wants a baby. Rita doesn't want to be pregnant. Yes, they have Zedd and Rita discussing their sex life.
    • The Season 3 episode "Follow That Cab!" has Tommy saying he's glad he can make Kim scream. [2]
    • When Kimberly is sent back in time to the 1800's, she meets and briefly empowers the Wild West ancestors of her teammates. Aisha's ancestor is a stylish young woman named Miss Alicia. "Miss [First Name]" is an old-fashioned way of addressing a prostitute. I seriously doubt this was intentional. [3] at worst.
  • Power Rangers Zeo:
  • Turbo:
    • They managed to get the villain being a terrorist bomber past the radar by referring to the bombs as "detonators" as she tried to bomb fire trucks, bridges, parks, skyscrapers... This was a pre-9/11 TV show and Lost Galaxy had suicide bombers in the finale. Put it under [4] I'd say.Plus building get destroyed all the time, as is the nature of this show.
    • Divatox in general is a major example: her costume is quite revealing for something from a kids show. Especially in the movie where she wears a chest plate that shows off quite a lot of Hillary Shepard Turner's bust. revealing costumes aren't uncommon in kids TV/movies. Also the picture is broken.
    • Don't forget the infamous episode of Turbo in which the Rangers are baked into a giant pizza. TJ confronts the monster with the wonderful quote: "We're here to toss your salad!" [5]. Hilarious as the line is, that's all it is.
  • Power Rangers in Space:
    • The Craterite Invasion ends with Bulk and Skull attempting to unmask supposed aliens at The Surf Spot with a device they call a stripper, which backfires and leaves the two of them in their underwear, and Adelle making it worse by saying "Now we know why they call it a stripper.". ...this just explains the joke.
    • In one of the early Psycho Ranger appearances during Power Rangers in Space, Ashley has an obvious panty shot that the censors apparently missed. I think this applies but I'll let others be the judge.
      • Interestingly enough, her undershorts were actually yellow, corresponding to her Ranger color. You wonder if the costuming department actually had that much influence.
    • In the gag reel of the credits of "The Barillian Sting", Christopher Khayman Lee, voicing Andros the Red Ranger, managed to pull a joke (with the dialogue toned-down in later airings; turning it into more of a "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" joke), where Andros finds a bottle of blue pills marked "Stud". (Originally, Andros hung a lampshade, pointing out that "this is just what you need to score with the chicks!", but in later airings and versions, he just says "I've been looking all over for these things!") second video is broken, but I say keep unless others have an objection.
  • In a Lost Galaxy episode, Leo tried to score a date with a girl but had to deal with her motorcycle-riding brother. At one point, the brother offers "Want to take her for a test drive?" The question hangs in the air for a bit before he clarifies "The bike!" I saw this episode recently and this is an exaggeration.
    • Not to mention that the last episodes feature the villain ordering suicide bombings. ZCE and I mentioned earlier this was a pre-9/11 TV show.
  • Lightspeed Rescue had the Hot Scientist recuperating in the medical wing... and the Dogged Nice Guy pursuing her trying to peek under her sheet. (Don't worry. They end up married.) Again, saw this episode recently and this is false.
  • Power Rangers Time Force crosses this with Unfortunate Implications: The heroes of the series are from a eugenic utopia, and the bad guys are the rejects. Not getting into this now, but that is an extreme oversimplification and a half-truth said by the main villain who was just using it as an excuse to wage war.
    • It's not just implications: being treated the way they were is why the mutants turned against humanity. Revenge means becoming what you hate, and it being a vicious cycle and all... it's kinda what the whole series is about. There's a reason PRTF is considered one of the darkest... and one of the best. Pointless natter
  • Wild Force had main character Cole's parents murdered by the Big Bad prior to the first episode. The Fox Kids censors would only let Cole's parents be murdered because the producers lied that the show would later reveal that Cole's parents were alive and were merely a brainwashed Jindrax and Toxica, knowing full well that the show was moving to ABC Kids/ABC Family in the second half and that Disney didn't bother to watch the first half, and was ignorant to that scene. I'd say this counts. Both owners (Saban and Disney)planned to have the parents live but the producers essentially tricked them.
    • And the way they died is definitely a Family-Unfriendly Death. ZCE. They were will by bad CGI for those wondering
    • Averted in “Forever Red”, which aired during Wild Force. Originally they were going to make a reference to "those stories [about Jason and Tommy] on the Internet". (They had switched networks by this point, so it's likely that Disney's censors forced them to remove it.) The very fact that it was averted means this doesn't belong here
  • A few in Ninja Storm:
    • One episode opens with Shane and Dustin ogling a computer with lines like "what a babe" and "check out the lines on her". Cam catches them and remarks "I hope you guys aren't doing anything illegal". Embarrassed, the two try to hide the computer, only for Cam to grab it and find they were looking at... readouts of the new motorcycles they received last episode. SLC for this one.
    • In the episode "Nowhere to Grow," the plant monster moans in a seductive voice, and in the voice tells her little plants to "Grow baby grow," among other seductive one-liners. If listening, without watching, you'd think you were watching a cheesy porn. Sounds like Accidental Innuendo
  • An early episode of Power Rangers S.P.D.has Red Ranger Jack approached by an attractive young recruit, asking him to show her "some close-quarter defensive maneuvers." This is nothing.
  • Mystic Force had this in the finale:
    Xander: Leelee's mom is hot!
Vida: (wide eyes, big grin, enthusiastic nodding) Uh-huh!
    • (Adding to the subtext, up to that point Leelee's mom was the vampire queen Necrolai. Who had briefly turned Vida into a vampire earlier in the season.) Maybe, but it's more weird than anything.
  • Jungle Fury did something very funny:
    Theo: Have you seen Lily?
RJ: She's getting her groove on with Casey. (pelvic thrusts)
    • (Casey's and Lily's actors were dating for a brief period of time, making this Hilarious in Hindsight, although they've since broken up) SLC
    • Also from Jungle Fury, villainess Jellica (whose underbust noticeably did not get past the US radar) commenting on Jarrod's "power and technique" as her gaze lowers to his crotch level. This is a strech.
  • Power Rangers RPM:
    • While fighting a Vacuum Cleaner monster, Scott is able to get away with the pun: "Suck on this!" '''A very common pun. Unless everyone who has ever said "you suck" meant it sexually.
  • In Power Rangers Samurai, when Mia and Emily pose as brides, a close-up of the wedding registry shows that one of the couples due to get married that day had the respective last names of Beaver and Wetter. '''Links are broken. [[Freeze Frame bonus]]
  • In the Megaforce episode "Man and Machine", the Monster of the Week likes to go out in sunny weather because that's when he can steal and eat the shadows of people, freezing them in place. So when the new Megazord is formed to bring down the monster, Troy manages to get away with this line:
Let's hit this guy where the sun don't shine! Very common phrase. even in kids shows.
  • In the premiere episode of Dino Charge, Tyler pulls out things from his backpack to use as weapons to fend off the Monster of the Week. He first pulls out a banana, then a pair of underwear, and finally a shovel. This is nothing.
  • This isn’t limited to the TV series. In the 2018 annual for the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers comic book series, one story focuses on the Rangers of Power Rangers Ninja Steel. Calvin mentions a nightmare he had, then his girlfriend Hayley whispers, “He woke up screaming.” In other words, Calvin and Hayley have slept together. This did not go unnoticed by Nico Greetham, Calvin’s actor A COUPLE SLEEPS IN THE SAME BED! THE HORROR! FFS This isn't the 1950s, also the comics are aimed at an older audience so the point is moot.

I'll come back later to make the actual changes. Any opinions otherwise?

mewtron: OK, that one probably does qualify if we can prove that particular episode was TV-Y7.

nrjxll: Just a joke. The Radar/ pages for iCarly and Victorious were very long and frustrating, but Sam & Cat had far fewer episodes and so its Radar/ page doesn't have as many examples.

zendle:

Rocky becoming a plant: I think that's just supposed to be plant stuff. Not sexual.

Detonators in Turbo is closer to Funny Aneurism Moment

Divatox is sexy but it's nothing kids haven't seen somebody's older sister wearing.

Ashley's panties only count if it's intentional.

The blue pills marked stud: OK, that one is probably valid since it did get changed in later airings.

Seriously, I've watched iCarly (my son was into it for a while) and while they pushed boundaries frequently and intentionally, Nickelodeon did approve the show. Innuendo is not Radar.

[up][up] Turns out that the "crapples" episode is TV-PG so I guess it doesn't count there either.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

I've moved the pills example to the In Space page because that's the only legit example there. Can someone delete the main Radar page for PR? I don't know how to do it >_<

I'm going to start going through Radar.Comic Books, starting with Radar.Archie Comics. I believe that Archie was the last company to seek Comics Code approval, right up until the Comics Code itself was finally abolished.

  • The series has a lot of fanservice involving Betty, Veronica, and Cheryl. Almost any time they appear in swimsuits they are played up in a fanservicey manner.

Archie has been around since 1941, before the Comics Code was even introduced. This example is incredibly vague, and what was permitted in 1945 was not so in 1955. Still, even the 1954 version of the Code didn't actually ban bikinis - it specifically says "All characters shall be depicted in dress reasonably acceptable to society." In 1954, bikinis were gradually starting to become acceptable as beachwear, so I don't think this example counts.

  • There a famous example where one of the main characters runs through a magical hole in the wall that looks exactly like a vagina. It could have been coincidence, but...

I couldn't find any reference to this on DuclDuckGo or Google. If this exists, it's almost certainly unintentional.

  • One issue of Betty And Veronica had the two discussing how perfume turned them on. Reprints censored the line.

[citation needed]

  • The 1970s issue "Saved by the Bell" deconstructs the Chastity Couple aspect of the characters. Betty is sexually frustrated about her relationship with Archie. She doesn't trust herself around him and even remarks "Archie's touch does weird things to my body." When they are alone at Betty's house they end up kissing but are interrupted from anything further when Jughead rings the bell.

I found a summary, and wow, that actually looks valid! (the comic came out in 1981, not the 70s, but it's still rather more sexually charged without consideration of the family unit than one would expect).

  • There is a story from the 80s which involves Archie using his finger to plug a hole in a cracked aquarium to stop it from flooding Mr. Lodge's pool room. The story features one of Mr. Lodge's business associates who is clearly huffing Amyl Nitrate numerous times during the story; he even offers one to Archie, saying they're "smelling salts".

I couldn't find any evidence this story exists. If someone can dig up the exact issue we can judge.

  • In a 1959 Christmas story, when Veronica asks Archie what he's going to give her dad for Christmas, he simply responds, "The bird!" Veronica is understandably offended until Archie shows her the canary he intends to present to Mr. Lodge. Another story featured Mr. Cooper trying to force Archie to marry Betty after catching them in what appeared to be a semi-nude state.

The Code censors could be notorious jackasses, but in this case it's clear that Archie is talking about an actual bird. This seems fine.

  • The boys plot a "Save Our Beazly" campaign upon learning that the school chef will be downsized. One boy prompts that they should make bumper stickers, just using the initials. The others quickly hush him up. Wonder how that one skipped the censors.

I couldn't find any information about this story; in any case, this sounds more like a Parental Bonus.

  • A story has Archie as a TV news reporter. After Jughead mixes up the cue cards, he begins the news with "It looks like that jackass is up to his old tricks again!" with a picture of Mr. Lodge in the background. Veronica is upset until the mistake is corrected. The news story was referring to an actual jackass, not Mr. Lodge.

"Jackass" isn't really a curse.

  • Once, Betty was moping around the school. Someone told her to stop "mooning around". Betty was shocked, thinking she was being accused of mooning people.

But she wasn't actually mooning; it was just a misunderstanding. This is fine.

  • Betty mentioned two friends to a third friend of hers: Ronnie and Juggie. When he meets Veronica ("Ronnie"), he assumes she's Juggie...possibly because of her jugs.

In all probability, the troper is reading too much into this. Ronnie is normally a boy's name, since it's much more often short for Ronald than Veronica. The friend thus assumed that, because Betty's brunette friend is a girl, she must be Juggie.

  • There's one where Veronica panics because she thought Betty and Archie showered together, and another where she nearly freezes to death because she thinks Archie and Betty are sleeping together.

[citation needed] .

  • Reggie sabotages Archie's jalopy to take Veronica to a dance. Veronica, hearing a false story from Reggie, feels sorry for Archie, while Reggie assures her that Archie is probably "enjoying himself".

Accidental Innuendo at worst.

  • Another strip has Archie going to a female gift counselor to ask what he should get as a birthday present for Mr. Lodge. The counselor's suggestion was her phone number.

So an adult woman is interested in a rich adult man? Even the 1954 version didn't forbid romantic hijinks.

  • Archie is in a women's store as a favor to Betty. One of the sales clerks has this line:
Is there something you'd like to see in a nightgown...like me?

Eh, this seems like it would fly even in 1954.

  • Veronica dresses up as a flower at a masquerade party, so, to impress her, Reggie dresses up as a bee. Subtle.

You know that bees don't have sex with flowers, right?

  • In a Frank Doyle/Dan DeCarlo story from 1962, Betty and Veronica try to live the way boys do, and wind up using male tactics to pick up a couple of handsome boys. At the end of the story, Jughead arrives as Archie is watching the couples leave:
Jughead: Would you care to explain what just happened?
Archie: Aw! They're making out like they're boys!
Jughead: I can see that they're making out! Now would you explain the rest of it?

I'm pretty sure this is Have a Gay Old Time

It was never against the rule to portray men being attracted to women.

  • One cover shows Archie buying Veronica a frisbee for her birthday. When he speaks about how surprised she'll be to get it, Betty informs him that Veronica is expecting a "pearl necklace" (in double-sized bold blue text, no less).

Accidental Innuendo

  • Another cover has Archie saving Betty from drowning, and talking about how he had to "beat off" three other guys to do it (in double-sized bold RED text this time). Yeah, they knew what they were saying.

Accidental Innuendo

  • While Archie and Veronica are dancing, Archie says, "I thought you were going to do the mashed potato," and she replies, "After the dance, Archie."

What?

  • Some of Cheryl's sexier antics seem extremely bizarre for a family comic book series, and even rival the fanservice in Image Comics.

Too vague.

  • Over in Josie and the Pussycats, Valerie told Josie that their van broke down on the highway, and was asking for money for repairs. Josie says that she is also broke, but it doesn't matter, since the van will probably be torn frame by frame by road pirates by the time the girls get there. Now, read this exchange:
Valerie: I left Melody in it, to guard it.
Josie: If those roadway pirates see her frame, they won't bother stripping the van!

Possibly valid; I wasn't able to find the issue this happens in.

Sounds more like Naked People Are Funny.

  • In one comic, Archie and the others start acting like beatniks, complete with behaving like they are on drugs. It is however implied that they are simply pretending to be that way.

If they're just acting silly, it's fine.

  • In one comic, Cheryl appears in a risqué swimsuit and mentions that in France it is not uncommon for women to go topless on beaches. She then tries to remove her top. According to the end, she did end up taking off her top (and was promptly escorted away). In the same issue, her twin brother, Jason, tries to hide beer by slipping an empty soda can over it. He is also escorted away by the police.

This happened in Betty and Veronica #320 (1982), but Cheryl and Jason were punished for their behaviour, so the Comics Code approves.

  • Issue 106 of Josie and the Pussycats had Alex heavily making out with a girl and buying beer.

Looks like that was published in 1982. Kissing is fine. The 1974 revision doesn't mention alcohol, but it does have a lot of rules about how to portray illegal drugs. I'd need to see the actual issue to determine if this does violate the Code, but I'm leaning on "no".

  • A rather memorable one in issue #15 of Josie and the Pussycats:
Pepper: Melody, I appeal to you!
Melody: ♪ Oh you do, Pepper! But I like boys better! ♫
Pepper: No, no, you ninny! I want your help!

This is innocent.

  • In one issue of Jughead in the new continuity, Jughead complains about a dream, and Kevin offers to interpret, asking whether Jughead dreamed about hamburgers or hot dogs (being yonicnote  and phallic symbols, respectively). It speaks to his asexuality that for once, Big Eater Jughead admits that neither showed up in his dream at all.

This came well after the Comics Code was abolished, and the new continuity isn't even trying to be child-friendly.

  • In one comic, Archie’s father finds out Archie has been sneaking out of the house to visit Betty (for study sessions, as it turns out). When Mr Andrews goes over and asks Mr Cooper where his daughter is, Mr Cooper says either in the study, or up in bed. Mr Andrews then responds "Well you better hope she’s in the study because she’s in there with Archie!"

And she is in the study. This is acceptable.

  • In an early comic, Veronica is shocked to see Archie pushing a baby carriage, indicating that she thought he'd fathered a child. Turns out it belongs to his aunt.

Silly misunderstanding.

Conclusion: One example that looks valid. I am genuinely surprised they managed to use the word "sexy" in 1981.
