Decepticons

    In General
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/symbol_decept_reg_2.png
"Decepticons, attack!"

  • Aliens Are Bastards: They are ruthless and most of them show no remorse for the atrocities they commit. According to Optimus and Jazz, they have deceived many other races.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Prior to the events of the story, they have already conquered Cybertron.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: They take sadistic pleasure in murdering innocent lifeforms. Plus, they literally call themselves Decepticons.
  • Cool Car: Despite Starscream's general dismissal of cons who use land-based alt modes, those same Decepticons answer back they like this type of car.
  • Cool Plane: As always the Decepticons use them as alt modes, the Seeker trio of Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp being the most prominent examples.
  • Evil Counterpart: To the Autobots.
  • Fantastic Racism: They don't seem to view organics, humans in particular, in high regard seeing them as weak flesh creatures. It borders on Underestimating Badassery when they get their asses handed to them by their Quirks.
  • The Ghost: Several Decepticons have been mentioned but haven't appeared yet, like Soundwave, Spinister, Battletrap, Thundertron, the Seacons, the Stunticons, the Combaticons, and so on.
  • The One Thing I Don't Hate About You: Despite hating or dismissing almost everything about humanity, some Decepticons admit they do make nice vehicles they can copy for alt modes. Some of them, such as Thundercracker and Nightra, have even taken a liking to their media.

Leadership

    Megatron

Megatron | Megatronus

Alt Mode: Cybertronian Tank

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megatron_8.jpg

The leader of the Decepticons. Megatron is a cruel, merciless, and power-hungry being, originally a gladiator who fought in the pits of Kaon on Cybertron. Wishing to overthrow Cybertron's caste system, Megatron founded the Decepticons to take over the planet by force and domination with the Autobots opposing them. With the Autobots fleeing Cybertron after being overwhelmed, Megatron now rules over his homeworld with an iron fist, hoping to destroy every single faction of Autobot resistance.

  • Arm Cannon: He wields his fusion cannon on his right arm.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Optimus Prime.
  • Big Bad: He's the leader of the Decepticons and the one responsible for starting the Cybertronian war.
  • Blood Knight: Due to spending most of his time as a gladiator fighting in the pits of Kaon, Megatron is known to enjoy battling. While originally planning on watching a recording of the Sports Festival later, Megatron became intrigued when Unicronus informed him of the next stage of the festival being one-on-one matches; this got him to watch the festival personally from his citadel.
  • Composite Character: Megatron has his G1 appearance while also having his IDW counterpart's backstory of being a revolutionist who started fighting for equal rights against the Fantastic Caste System known as Functionism, and having a brother-like relationship with Orion Pax like in Prime.
  • Disappointed in You: He tells Sky-Byte he is disappointed in him for lying to him about the circumstances of his pursuer Jetfire and will not tolerate any more lies from him.
  • The Dreaded: He's the leader of the Decepticons and for good reason. Not many have actively fought him and lived to tell the tale. Aside from Optimus, very few people are capable of posing a challenge to him and he's as ruthless as they come as he won't stop to kill as many people as he can till he destroys his most hated foe and the Autobots.
    • Megatron is feared to such a degree that just the sight of another Fusion Cannon causes Autobots like Arcee and Flare-Up to have their energon run cold.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Optimus. Both Optimus and Megatron are the leaders of opposing Cybertronian factions (Autobots and Decepticons, respectively) who wish to remove the caste system, Functionism, from their planet. But while Optimus wishes to fight for the freedom of all sentient beings on top of fixing their planet's broken system; Megatron wishes to rule over Cybertron through his tyranny as a means of destroying the system.
  • Evil Former Friend: He used to be a mentor as well as Optimus' best friend when the latter was Orion Pax before going down a dark path.
  • Fantastic Racism: Megatron doesn't seem to view humans in high regard as he sees them as more fragile than Cybertronians. He even finds Bakugo's Quirk to be repulsive in function as it uses sweat.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Megatron is feared by many for his ruthless wrath, a reason why most Decepticons don't want to be the one to give him the bad news.
  • Orcus on His Throne: When he isn't commanding his troops, Megatron is seen sitting on his throne in Cybertron.
  • Perpetual Frowner: He always has a frown on his face. One that would make Endeavor jealous.
  • Removing the Rival: Megatron plans on finding the League of Villains and killing their leader. That way the rest of the league will have no choice but to follow him instead.
  • This Cannot Be!: He was shocked beyond belief to find out that humans on Earth have taken down a Cybertronian.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Megatron dismisses Izuku upon viewing him at the Sports Festival, claiming the boy was no threat, especially after being brainwashed and made to cross the boundary line. This changes after he sees Izuku snap out of his brainwashed state through a burst of One For All's strength and then proceeds to beat down Shinso. This and witnessing Izuku's match with Shoto prompts Megatron to take the humans as a serious threat by commanding Starscream and Unicronus to find villainous allies.
  • Villainous Friendship: He's on genuinely friendly terms with Sky-Byte, and is quite pleased with his survival. Still doesn't mean he won't punish him for lying about why he was away for so long.

    Starscream

Starscream

Alt Mode: F-15 Fighter Jet

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/starscream_evergreen.jpg

Megatron's second-in-command; Starscream currently holds command over the Darksyde alongside Unicronus. He's one of the most dangerous forces of the Decepticons... at least that's what he claims. He wishes to overthrow Megatron and have complete control over the Decepticons, believing he is more fit to rule.

  • An Arm and a Leg: Edgeshot catches him off guard and mutilates his arm with his Quirk. It happens again when his own Null Ray malfunctions due to being heavily damaged and blows up his arm.
  • Bad Boss: When one of the Vehicons told him that all six of their troops sent to track down the Autobots had been eliminated, his response was to knock the Vehicon out cold with his Null Ray. Swift notes that he has done this many times, having killed many Vehicons whenever they inform him of something he dislikes.
  • Badass Decay: Invoked. As Megatron notes, when Starscream was on Cybertron he was a genuine threat to the Autobots. Now, though, he can barely hold together a small battalion of Decepticons, either due to complacency or his ego getting to him.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: He's not as big a threat as he believes and has failed many times to get rid of Megatron so he can lead the Decepticons in his place.
  • Boss's Unfavorite Employee: Megatron has the lowest opinion of Starscream among all of his lieutenants due to his moments of incompetence and his desire to usurp him, which practically all Decepticons are aware of.
  • Butt-Monkey: Much to Starscream's chagrin, nothing seems to go his way, and all his plans tend to backfire on him.
  • Co-Dragons: He commands the troops of the Darksyde alongside Unicronus.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Ends up being on the receiving end on this with All Might.
  • Detrimental Determination: The damage he takes fighting G. I. Joe leaves him barely functional, and his attempt to reach the Energon vein despite being electrified only endangers himself and everyone in the area, but he refuses to back down even when Sky-Byte orders him to. It's not until Thundercracker says the same that Screamer finally retreats.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Despite officially being the second-in-command of the Decepticons, he gets little to no respect from members of his own faction and is surprised that Skywarp and Thundercracker are more respected than him.
  • Evil Sounds Raspy: As it's typical for Starscream, his voice is described as raspy.
  • Fantastic Racism: Starscream sees humans as beneath him and views Shoji with disgust when he sees his appearance while watching the Sports Festival.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Despite holding command over the Darksyde and being Megatron's second-in-command; none of his higher troops seem to hold any respect for him and even go against his orders sometimes.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Starscream gets really pissed off when things don't go his way, often firing his Null Ray around in anger.
  • In-Series Nickname: Screamer, by both his enemies and fellow Decepticons alike. Not that he particularly likes it.
  • Middle Child Syndrome: Being the middle of his brothers means Starscream has always been desperate for attention.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: His response to Kendo and Flare Up making fun of him was to fire rapidly in anger.
  • Pet the Dog: It's not much but there were times during the war when he refused to terminate Jetfire due to their past friendship, but nowadays he thinks of those little mercies as failures on his part.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: He shares the leadership position of the Darksyde with Unicronus; a fact that he really dislikes. The feeling is mutual with Unicronus.
  • The Starscream: He's the Trope Namer. What do you expect?
  • Twitchy Eye: Gets this a few times like when Itsuka tells him to his face that he's not really that scary.
  • Underestimating Badassery: He continues to look down on humans, seeing them as nothing more than weak organics. This is despite the fact that he was defeated by All Might in one punch, and Edgeshot even managed to catch him off guard by mutilating his arm. He's also in complete disbelief over the raw power that Izuku and Shoto show off during the Sports Festival.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Starscream and Jetfire were once good friends, but they chose different sides of the war.

    Soundwave

Soundwave

A high-ranking Decepticon. He also leads Megatron's away team.

  • The Dreaded: He's one of the most dangerous Decepticons next to Shockwave and behind Megatron himself. Even Starscream fears him as he shuddered when Megatron suggested he send in his own away team, which includes Soundwave.
  • The Leader: He leads Megatron's away team.
  • Loud of War: He's an expert in sound-based attacks.

    Shockwave

Shockwave

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/g1_shockwave.jpg

The resident scientist of the Decepticons and one of Megatron's most dedicated allies.

  • Arm Cannon: His signature cannon on his left arm in place of his hand.
  • Cyber Cyclops: Compared to other Cybertronians, he only has one optic with no face.
  • The Dreaded: He's one of the most dangerous individuals among the Decepticons next to Starscream and Soundwave and behind Megatron himself.
  • Evil Genius: He's the head scientist behind the main scientific operations among the Decepticons and develops their high-tech weapons.
  • Mad Scientist: Shockwave has been known for conducting several immoral and unethical experiments for the Decepticon cause.
  • Undying Loyalty: Shockwave is one of Megatron's trusted allies and his right-hand con in the field of science.

Darksyde Crew

    Barricade

Barricade

Alt Mode: Datsun Fairlady Z-300

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/siege_barricade_art_7.jpg

A former member of the Cybertronian police force who went rogue after joining the Decepticons. Barricade is a huge and strong Decepticon known for tearing through his enemies.

  • The Bad Guys Are Cops: He's a former police officer and his alt mode is a patrol car.
  • Blood Knight: Barricade always enjoys a good fight and was itching to see some destruction during the one-on-one matches of the Sports Festival.
  • Composite Character: His design is from the War for Cybertron trilogy while his car mode has written on the side "To Punish and Enslave" from the live-action movies.
  • Dirty Cop: He's a former cop who turned traitor on his allies when he joined the Decepticons.
  • Hero Killer: According to Strongarm, when he turned to the Decepticons he killed the recruits Stakeout, Fixit, Red Hot, and Seawatch.
  • Ship Tease: There seems to be something growing between him and Swift.
  • This Cannot Be!: He was shocked with how organics were able to hold their own against the Decepticons and grew irritated with how they continued to oppose them.

    Frenzy

Frenzy

Alt Mode: Chainsaw

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0_17_6.jpg

Barricade's Mini-Con partner who has a penchant for violence.

  • Actually Pretty Funny: He finds Present Mic and Eraserhead's commentary during the Sports Festival to be hilarious.
  • Blood Knight: Really enjoys violence like his partner and was itching to see some destruction between the students at the Sports Festival.
  • Butt-Monkey: He usually ends up getting his aft handed to him, by Class 1A and the Autobots.
  • Dirty Coward: During the battle at the Rocky Mountains, he at first wants revenge on Izuku for defeating him when they first met. When the Mini-Con sees how strong the boy has gotten since their previous encounter, he tries to run away, only for Izuku to knock him out.
  • Red Is Violent: His main color scheme is red and black and he's bloodthirsty and aggressive.
  • Talking Weapon: He's a Minicon whose alt mode is Barricade's weapon.

    Swift

Swift

Alt Mode: Apache Longbow helicopter

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0_14_2.jpg

Agent Swift is one of the high troops aboard the Darksyde and is in charge of harvesting Energon from Earth while also taking down the Autobots and their new human allies.

  • Blood Knight. It's subtle, but Swift does enjoy and crave violence if her reaction to how the 1A students killed a Vehicon is anything to go by.
Swift: Primus...those kids are ruthless. (then smiles) I kinda like it!
  • Deadpan Snarker: She's known for having a silver tongue and snarks very often, mostly at Starscream.
  • Drunk with Power: The power of her Super Mode quickly goes to her head and it continues even after she's barely alive and Dualor has to snap her out of it.
  • Expy: Word of God states she's one to Shego.
  • Hand Blast: Swift can emit powerful energy blasts from her hands.
  • Secondary Color Nemesis: Her main colors are green and orange and she's a dedicated Decepticon.
  • Ship Tease: There seems to be something growing between her and Barricade.
  • The Smurfette Principle: She was this for the Darksyde crew until Nightra and Shadow Striker came along.
  • Super Mode: In chapter 59, she Powerlinxes with the Destruction Mini-Con Team to form her own Super Mode.
  • Town Girls: The femme to Nightra's butch and Shadow Striker's neither.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She's afraid of Scraplets, with the mere mention of them leaving her trembling. Considering what they do to Cybertronians, this is justified.

    Flatline

Flatline

Alt Mode: Hearse

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0_21_2.jpg

Flatline is the resident Decepticon doctor among the Darksyde. He tends to the medical needs of his fellow Decepticon troops.

    Blastwave

Blastwave

Alt Mode: Cybertronian Tank

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0_19_1.jpg

One of the high troops of the Darksyde and The Heavy of Starscream's team; he's also Flatline's right-hand bot.

  • Abled in the Adaptation: In the Robots in Disguise (2015) show he was mute due to his voicebox being damaged in battle, but here he can speak just fine.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Blastwave was an Autobot bounty hunter in Robots In Disguise. Here, he's a full-blown Decepticon.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Bulkhead.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Don't let his manner of speaking and Dumb Muscle antics fool you, Blastwave is a dangerous and dedicated Decepticon, as Sunstreaker found out.
  • BFG: Blastwave's primary weapon in battle is an X18 Scrapmaker, which is basically a machine gun but even bigger and has two rotating barrels.
  • Brains and Brawn: The brawn to Flatline's brains.
  • Catchphrase Insult: Tends to refer to people as "babies" as an insult.
  • Dumb Muscle: Not exactly the smartest of the Decepticons. What he lacks in brains he makes up for brawn.
  • Expy: He's one to the Heavy from Team Fortress 2, right down to the Russian accent and having a large machine gun.
  • Husky Russkie: He's big, burly, drinks tons of oil, and even speaks with a Russian accent despite being an alien robot.
  • I Call It "Vera": He calls his X18 Scrapmaker, "Destructsha".
  • Villainous Friendship: With Flatline, being genuinely concerned when the doctor is injured.

    Unicronus

Unicronus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3f3ba3208c69c1489d07d4f87c5f99d1.jpg

General Unicronus is one of the highest commanding troops on the Darksyde, commanding it alongside Starscream much to both of their irritation. Not much is known about Unicronus as he's a Decepticon shrouded in mystery who rarely ever steps out to fight himself; instead, he sends his troops to fight in his stead while he observes from the sidelines.

  • Co-Dragons: He commands the forces of the Darksyde alongside Starscream.
  • Berserk Button: Questioning his loyalty to the Decepticons is one of the few things that sets him off.
  • Foil: To Starscream. Both of them lead the forces of the Darksyde, while Starscream wishes to overthrow Megatron and take over the Decepticons; Unicronus is fiercely loyal to Megatron. Also, while Starscream takes an active role in fighting the Autobots and the Heroes; Unicronus prefers to stay in the shadows.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: In hindsight, he ended up foiling the plan in "The Con Job" by leaving that guard in Springer's cell.
  • Not So Stoic: In addition to his loyalty getting questioned, he's completely baffled when Starscream is to stay in command of the Darksyde, despite his repeated failures. He attempts to talk Megatron out of it only to be promptly silenced.
  • The Stoic: Unicronus rarely emotes and keeps an expressionless disposition. While initially stunned by Izuku and Shoto's match at the Sports Festival, he quickly retains a grim look.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: How he feels when he has to deal with the antics of his colleagues abroad the Darksyde.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: He shares the leadership position of the Darksyde with Starscream; a fact that he really dislikes. The feeling is mutual with Starscream.

    Makeshift

Makeshift

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/char_31504_3388.jpg

A Decepticon with the uncanny ability to change his form to resemble other Cybertronians, making him the perfect spy and infiltrator.

    Skywarp

Skywarp

Alt Mode: Shenyang J-11 Jet

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tf_skywarp_by_the_gearsmith_by_ajscreativecorner_d2rce75.jpg

The elder brother of Starscream and Thundercracker who's known for his thirst for violence.

  • Adaptational Badass: G1 Skywarp wasn't very bright and was more of a follower than a leader. This version of Skywarp is skilled and competent enough to lead his own team.
  • Blood Knight: Skywarp is known for his love for battle to the point that he was ecstatic when the one-on-one battles between the students at the Sports Festival began.
  • Chuunibyou: He has a penchant for the dramatic flairs and his teammates even refer to him as an edgy edgelord.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: On the receiving end from Airazor.
  • Expy: This version of Skywarp seems to take after Reaper from Overwatch as he wields dual shotguns as his weapons and even has a skull-embroidered battle mask.
  • Guns Akimbo: Skywarp wields dual shotguns as his primary weapons in battle.
  • The Leader: To his striker team.
  • Teleportation: He can warp his way to any location provided it's in his sight.

    Thundercracker

Thundercracker

Alt Mode: MiG-29 Fulcrum Jet

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1f36f568a6c6ca8b9e07628b3d22721f.jpg

The youngest Seeker brother of Starscream and Skywarp.

  • A Father to His Men: Takes the hit for the Air Assault Team when Starscream attempts to kick them for failing to secure Airazor's pod.
  • BFS: Wields the combined form of the Air Assault Team, the Cyber Caliber, into battle.
  • Blue Is Calm: His main color scheme is blue and he's by far the most thoughtful of the Decepticons introduced so far.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • He is a bit disturbed by Skywarp's thirst for violence.
    • Is the most hesitant out of all Decepticons to fight the humans, only doing so out of following orders.
  • Klingons Love Shakespeare: Upon Midnight's request, Thundercracker took a peek at some of Earth's films and has shown quite an interest in them ever since. In his free time, Thundercracker watches various movies that humans have created.
  • Taking the Bullet: When Starscream was about to kick the Air Assault Mini-Con Team, Thundercracker dived in and took the kick himself.
  • Token Good Teammate: Among all the Decepticons, Thundercracker is the one who's the most hesitant about killing humans.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Thundercracker charges towards Jetfire when the latter was powered up by a Cyber-Key, stating that it won't be enough to save him. When Jetfire unleashes his power, the Seeker realizes how screwed he is before he gets scorched by Jetfire's twin blasters.

    Shadow Striker

Shadow Striker

Alt Mode: Lamborghini Aventador

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px_cyberverseshadowstriker.jpg

Agent Shadow Striker is a former Autobot turned Decepticon after being subjected to Shockwave's experiments. She's a Con who rarely emotes and swiftly kills her enemies with precise sniper shots.

  • Adaptational Heroism: She used to fight alongside the Autobots but being tortured by Shockwave turned her over to the dark side.
  • Arch-Enemy: She cemented herself as this to Arcee when she killed her protégée.
  • Aliens Speaking English: Despite being a Cybertronian, she speaks in a French accent and knows a few French words.
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: She used to be an Autobot, but being experimented on by Shockwave has rendered her emotionless.
  • Cain and Abel: Used to be this with her sister Roulette, until she made her first target.
  • Cold Sniper: She shows no emotion and coldly takes down her targets with her sniper.
  • Composite Character: Besides being an Expy as indicated below, she combines her Cyberverse look with her backstory from Universe and takes Prime's Airachnid role as Arcee's Arch-Enemy.
  • Expy: Of Widowmaker from Overwatch, right down to being a Brainwashed and Crazy member of a heroic faction who still seems to have some buried nobility deep down.
  • French Jerk: She speaks with a French accent and is a near-emotionless killer.
  • Machete Mayhem: When forced to fight in close quarters she uses a machete.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: While she doesn't emote most of the time, Shadow Striker takes pure delight in shooting her targets with a grin. Upon mentioning her killing Tailgate, the Decepticon sniper refers to it as a fond memory much to the disgust of the Heroes, especially All Might.
  • The Stoic: She rarely emotes and speaks in a monotone voice.
  • Town Girls: The neither to Swift's femme and Nightra's butch.

    Nightra

Nightra

Alt Mode: Hyundai Santa Cruz

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1a85195d41ec95a48da7e331852a64eb_1.png

Agent Nightra is a Decepticon who is known for her hacking skills. She joins the forces of the Darksyde after Starscream requests his brothers for backup.

  • Adaptational Badass: While Nightra was a skilled trickster in Robots In Disguise. Here, she's a skilled hacker capable of finding information on anyone.
  • Affably Evil: She talks to her enemies in a playful tone.
  • Aliens Speaking English: Despite being a Cybertronian, she speaks in a Hispanic accent.
  • The Cracker: She's skilled enough to hack info on anyone, including someone like Getaway.
  • Expy: To Sombra from Overwatch, as they both share the same purple color scheme and are very capable hackers.
  • Evil Feels Good: Nightra's reason for joining the Decepticons. Following all the rules and regulations back on Cybertron's police force felt like a boring existence, so when Barricade gave her an offer to join the Cons, Nightra faked her own death as she felt she would have more freedom among them.
  • Evil Former Friend: Both Nightra and Strongarm used to be best friends.
  • Faking the Dead: Nightra faked her own death before joining the Decepticons to draw away any suspicions of her involvement with them.
  • Foil: To Strongarm. Both were members of Cybertron's police force before the war but while Strongarm is a stickler for the rules; Nightra believes following them is boring.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Pretty much all of the other Decepticons barely tolerate her presence, even Megatron gave her a death glare when she spoke out of turn during the Sports Festival arc.
  • Klingons Love Shakespeare: Nightra enjoys watching some of the human race's online content, especially cat videos.
  • Teleportation: Nightra is capable of warping into different places in an instant in a manner not so different from Skywarp.
  • Town Girls: The butch to Swift's femme and Shadow Striker's neither.

    Sky-Byte

Sky-Byte

Alt Mode: Great White Shark

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skybyte_cyberverse_boulder_model.jpg

A poetry-loving shark Predacon who arrives on Earth.

  • Arch-Enemy: Seen as this by Jetfire.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: While All Might was able to take one of the Mini-Cons that Sky-Byte was looking for, Sky-Byte was still able to take the other before making his getaway as one Mini-Con was more than enough for him to bargain his way into joining Starscream and Unicronus' crew.
  • Battle Cry: "Sky-Byte, Terrorize!" And "Beast Mode!".
  • Berserk Button: Insulting his composing abilities is a sure way to get under his metal skin.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Don't let his overly dramatic mannerisms fool you, Sky-Byte is a genuinely skilled warrior and tactician who the Autobots are reluctant to face.
  • The Dreaded: When Optimus and the Autobots found out that Sky-Byte had arrived on Earth and decided to join the Darksyde' crew, they were immediately on edge as Sky-Byte is one of the Decepticons' best tacticians and is responsible for many Decepticon victories in the Cybertronian war, making him a big threat next to Unicronus and Sixshot.
  • If It Swims, It Flies: He's a shark who can fly in the air as if he were swimming in water. And he can also do the same on the ground.
  • Irony: He tries to lie to Megatron that the reason he couldn't return to Cybertron was that he was being hunted down by the Aerialbots (instead of the still-alive Jetfire) and Megatron seemingly believes it. Only for it to be revealed after the end of their transmission that he didn't buy it at all as he received a report from Flamewar saying that she encountered the Aerialbots on Tantalus V, a planet that is on the complete opposite side of the galaxy where Earth is.
  • Land, Sea, Sky: He can swim in the water, fly in the air, and even dig through the ground.
  • Mean Boss: He doesn't care much about the well-being of his Mini-Cons as he was more annoyed by Dragonus and Sandsting getting damaged by organics rather than the fact that they were hurt pretty badly by Kyoka's sound attack. Sky-Byte justifies this by saying that they knew what they were getting into. He at least cares enough about them to ensure they're repaired once he joins the Darksyde crew.
  • Reports of My Death Were Greatly Exaggerated: He was presumed dead for a long time when he went missing after a supernova explosion, but he barely survived and landed on the Cybertronian colony of Charr, who repaired him and even gave him his two Mini-Cons.
  • Scary Teeth: He happens to have sharp teeth even in robot mode.
  • Shark Fin of Doom: The only part of him seen while swimming on the ground is the presence of his shark fin.
  • Threatening Shark: He turns into a shark and is a loyal enforcer of the Decepticon cause.
  • Villainous Friendship: He's on genuinely friendly terms with Megatron, who apparently even built a statue in his honor when he was presumed dead.
  • Warrior Poet: He's even introduced reciting a poem of his own making.

    Dragonus

Dragonus

Alt Mode: Torpedo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dragonus.jpg

A deployer-type Mini-Con working for Sky-Byte who turns into a small dragon.

    Sandsting

Sandsting

Alt Mode: Torpedo

    Vehicons

Alt Modes: Fighter jets, cars

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Vehicon_Prime_9606.png

The nameless, faceless foot soldiers that make up the bulk of the Decepticon forces.

  • Airborne Mook: Some Vehicons turn into jets.
  • Cool Car: Some of them turn into intimidating black and purple cars.
  • Dark Is Evil: Except for their faces, they're all colored black and dark purple.
  • Faceless Goons: They all have blank faces with a red visor.
  • It's Personal: Some Vehicons develop a grudge towards the U.A. students for the way they killed one of their own while thinking they were non-sentient.
  • Mooks: They aren't particularly strong by Cybertronian standards and tend to just show up in bulk.
  • What Measure Is a Mook?: Zigzagged. While the U.A. students are horrified to find out they killed a sentient being thinking it was just a drone and in later battles go out of their way to avoid killing them, the Autobots, but especially Springer, have little to no reservations killing Vehicons whenever they appear.

    Leapers

Alt Mode: Tanker trucks

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leaper_foc.jpg

Heavily armored Decepticon shock troopers created by Shockwave that can take far greater damage than Vehicons.

  • Attack Its Weak Point: They might be heavily armed in the front, but their backs are vulnerable and enough damage will destroy them.
  • Elite Mooks: They pack far more firepower than Vehicons and are also far more resilient. They're the first Decepticon troopers who really give the heroes and Team Prime a genuine challenge.
  • Heavily Armored Mook: Except for the back, the Leapers are incredibly resilient and difficult to damage even by other Cybertronians.
  • Super-Toughness: They are incredibly difficult to damage from sheer brute force, so Mirko managing to dent their carapace, even at the cost of breaking her legs, is seen as remarkable.
