Accidental Pervert does have a Real Life section (for now) that isn't relying on ableist stereotypes, so if we wanna keep it on Truth in Television, it can easily be rewritten to be like "People can act inappropriately due to misinterpreting a situation as sexual when it isn't, mistaking somebody's age, etc" instead of assuming only autistic people make such mistakes.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Okay, I swapped it out for the only entry that doesn't violate Weblinks Are Not Examples:
- Accidental Pervert: This happens often enough in stores that companies have studied how to prevent it from happening. Customers who do this tend to leave the store quickly without buying anything. In his book Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping (2000), Mr. Underhill expounded on the dangers of "butt brushes" (if the aisles are too narrow and people brush up against each other when they pass, they tend to leave the store)
Dont we already have a cleanup for this.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."No, I don't think so. There is no open Projects thread mentioning this page in the title.
I'm back!I may have come up with a valid replacement for the Breast Expansion entry:
- Breast hypertrophy is a rare condition where the breasts become abnormally large.
The V section has a number of questionable examples. I've already cut two vampire tropes and Vagina Dentata as those are known to be impossible in real life.
I'm back!Already brought this up on ATT, so here it is here too.
- Made of Evil: Some individuals throughout history who seem to have taken enjoyment only out of how much they could directly and indirectly harm people and/or the environment, and societies constructed on the concept of racist hatred and genocide and killing. No more will be said, and no real life examples (except for Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany) should be discussed because what people and societies are such is incredibly subjective for the most part.
Made of Evil is for characters who are literally made of evil, which is impossible in real life. Cut.

I'm back!Honestly this page is bloated with tropes that are pretty obviously real, like tropes pertaining to morality for example.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!I think this page might need a trip to TRS. Should I get a wick count going?
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread! Why?
I'm back!I replaced the shoehorning example in the OP with the Made of Evil one, which is definitely impossible.
I'm back!- Dystopia: some people compare North Korea to Nineteen Eighty-Four, which itself was based on contemporary totalitarianisms turned Up To Eleven.
Isn't this calling a real life location a dystopia, which is a fictional concept like utopia? The Weasel Words don't help.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!Necroing the thread thanks to 's suggestion. The Truth in Television pages have long been a troublesome zone for much of the same reasons explained in OP. I think a good way to handle cleanup would be to go through it alphabetically and see which ones need work.
- 419Scam: I would cut the not-terribly helpful first paragraph (which is also encouraging trope decay - not all spam mail is a 419), and expand the second bullet into the main paragraph. It's more helpful, since it explains that the trope namer comes from real life.
- Abandoned Warehouse: This one is fine.
- Abdicate the Throne: Not against it being here, but the list of names format is a little dull, especially when the main page expands on every example in a more interesting way. Probably needs a rewrite.
- Abnormal Ammo: As OP suggested, could probably be cut down. As someone who's not a military nerd, I don't know which example is the best (except obviously not the Mythbusters one).
- Above the Influence: Doesn't explain how it is Truth in Television, just that it should be Truth in Television. It also links to the Sliding Scale of Silliness vs. Seriousness, which is just plain weirdnote . The second sentence isn't even a correct use of the trope, and preaching to the audience about consent is possibly ROCEJ violating, or at least is unnecessary. This trope is an NRLEP Sex trope, I'd just cut this.
- Absent Aliens: As the OP said, this one's a good example of what these should look like.
- Absurdly-Long Limousine: Eh, it's kind of a ZCE, both in what limos are absurdly long and how they're a danger to society. Maybe just cut?
- Absurdly Powerful School Jurisdiction: Not sure on this one. I'd at least cut that last sentence.
- Absurdly Powerful Student Council: Another one where the last sentence needs to go. I will say this example seems like it was written by someone with an ax to grind.
- Absurdly Sharp Blade: Fine, but could probably be condensed into one paragraph.
- Absurdly Spacious Sewer: As the OP said, this is another good example.
- Abuse Mistake: Entirely general examples. "General" examples are essentially longer ZCE's, and "This is truth in television, as many people can tell you" is a poor example.
- Abusive Parents: Is a ZCE. As this is an NRLEP trope, I don't want to put examples, I'd just cut.
- Accentuate the Negative: Definitely needs a trim (although probably not a cut.)
- Accidental Art: This one's fine.
- Accidental Celebrity: The second sentence is worded confusingly but it's fine.
- Accidental Hero: It's written overly generally. Probably needs a full rewrite.
- Accidental Murder: Although the contents are informative, this isn't exactly the place to discuss legal terminology (don't we have a Useful Notes on the degrees of murder? Maybe we should just link there instead?)
- Accidental Pervert: This one has already been taken care of by this thread.
- Accidental Truth: Overly general.
- Accomplice by Inaction: Probably fine.
- Accuser of the Brethren: Overly general, might be violating ROCEJ?
- Ace Pilot: Good (it not only cites examples, but how they were so impressive)
- Achievements In Igonrance: Too general.
- Acquired Situational Narcissism: Finw.
- Acrofatic: Could probably use some rewriting, but fine.
- Action Girl: A ZCE.
- Action Mom: I'd cut the first paragraph and leave the specific example that is the second.
- Action Survivor: Has the same problems as Accidental Hero, it's too general.
- Actually, I Am Him: Too general.
- Actual Pacifist: Would help to expand upon the Quakers and Jains and remove the general third example.
- A-Cup Angst: A ZCE about an NRLEP trope.
- Admiring the Abomination: Too general.
- Adminisphere: Too general.
- Adorably Precocious Child: Pretty general, and I don't know what to think about the "manipulated by the media" part, that's giving me some dogwhistles.
- Adult Hater: A ZCE.
- Adults Are Useless: Too general.
- Adventurer Archaeologist: Cut that last line, but otherwise this one's great.
- Aerith and Bob: Written too generally.
- Aesop Amnesia: Too general.
- Affably Evil: Probably violates ROCEJ. Also the way the last sentences are placed together makes it sound like the real paranoia fuel is that serial killers might be taking selfies with first ladies.
- Affectionate Nickname: Too general.
- Affluent Ascetic: A ZCE.
- Afraid of Blood: A ZCE.
- Afraid of Needles: A ZCE.
- After-Action Healing Drama: Might be too general, might be okay? Not sure on this one.
- After Action Patch Up: See above.
- Against My Religion: Probably too general, and I'm not certain if this trope and The Fundementalist interact the way this example says they do.
- Age-Appropriate Angst: Might be fine, although it is pretty general.
- The Ageless: I don't know enough about jellyfish to know if this is true.
- Agent Peacock: A ZCE.
- The Aggresive Drug Dealer: This one seems fine.
- Aggresive Negotiations: Might be fine?
- Agonizing Stomach Wound: Pretty general.
- Agony Beam: This one is fine.
- Agony of the Feet: Too general.
- Air Guitar: The first part might be fine, second part should go since Guitar Hero is not air guitar, since there's a physical, if a toy, guitar.
- Air Hugging: Probably too general and maybe not the brightest idea to suggest that everyone who's ever done this is homophobic (remember social distancing? That was only three years ago, you know.)
- Air Jousting: Needs a rewrite to be clearer.
- Air Vent Passagewy: This one's great.
- The Alcatraz: Could use an expansion.
- The Alcoholic: Yet another example where the second sentence is cuttable but the first is fine.
- Alcohol Hic: A little general?
- The Alleged Car: Too general.
- The Alleged Computer: See above.
- All Girls Want Bad Boys: Could use a rewrite to define "bad" and better explain hybristophilia.
- Alliterative Name: Too general.
- All Abusers Are Male: Might violate ROCEJ? Not sure on this.
- All Issues Are Political Issues: A ZCE.
- All-Loving Hero: A ZCE.
- All of the Other Reindeer: Too general.
- All-Natural Snake Oil: Written overly generally.
- All Part of the Show: Could use some specific examples.
- All Take and No Give: Too general.
- Almighty Janitor: Written kinda generally, and giving out job interview advice is a little beyond our scope.
- Alpha Bitch: Too general.
- Altar the Speed: Might be fine?
- Alternative Calendar: Could use a rewrite, but the Lunar Calendar is a fine basis.
- Always Female and Always Male: Pretty general and really long winded.
- Always on Duty: This one seems fine.
- Always Second Best: A ZCE.
- Always Someone Better: Another ZCE.
- Amateur Film-Making Plot: Fine, but I'd mention that camcorders caused this trope to become more mainstream in the 80's and then the rise of phones with cameras in the 00's made it even more accessible.
- Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Too general.
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Technically misuse since the trope is for unnaturally colored animals - a red cardinal, although brighter than most birds, isn't this trope since that's its normal color.
- Amazon Chaser: Too general.
- Ambiguous Gender: Too general.
- Ambiguously Bi and Ambiguously Gay: Too general.
- Ambiguously Brown: Given that an explicit demand of this trope's TRS thread was removing RL examples, I think this needs to go.
- Ambulance Chaser: Might be okay? I don't know much about this field.
- Americans Are Cowboys: Seems fine.
- Amicable Exes: This one seems fine.
- Ammunition Conservation: Thanks Captain Obvious. Too general.
- Amnesiac Resonance: Could use an expansion.
- Amoral Afrikaner: Might be violating ROCEJ?
- Amoral Attorney: Might be fine?
- Analogy Backfire: Too general.
- Ancient Grome: This one is good, since it explains how the cultures mixed.
- Ancient Tradition: Too general.
- And Call Him "George": Might be fine? Might need an expansion?
- And I Must Scream: I appreciate the citation, but this is another trope that's had some definition problems so I'm not sure if it's working?
- ...And 99¢: I'd maybe link to the psychological pricing's wikipedia page, but otherwise fine.
- And Now for Someone Completely Different: I'm not certain that's how reincarnation works.
- And There Was Much Rejoicing: Needs a rewrite, but probably alright.
- And Your Reward Is Edible: Not sure on this.
- Angel Unaware: Not exactly "truth in television", seems like a better fit for Mythology and Religion than Truth in Television (since the former handles belief systems).
- Anger Born of Worry: Not going to lie, as a person with physical handicaps in a healthy and loving relationship with someone who's not disabled, I'm incredibly offended by the first section that implies my relationship is doomed to failure (and apparently it's my fault for making my partner worried). My partner is not supposed to be my nurse. Get this rambling garbage out of here.
- Angrish: Seems well written enough.
- "Angry Black Man" Stereotype: Define "very very good reason". Might be violating ROCEJ?
- Angst Dissonance: A little general.
- Angst? What Angst?: Seems fine.
- Animal Gender-Bender: This one is good.
- Animals Lack Attributes: A little gross, but might be fine.
- Animal Lover: Too general.
- Animal Reaction Shot: Too general.
- Animal Testing: General, and to not be general would probably violate ROCEJ.
- Animal Wrongs Group: See above, and also a ZCE.
- Annoying Pop-Up Ad: Too general.
- Annoying Younger Sibling: This is written like a universal truth when it's not.
- Antimatter: Needs an expansion.
- Ant War: Probably fine.
- All the Anti-Whatever military examples: I guess they're fine.
- Anti-Hero: Not sure this counts?
- Anti-Sneeze Finger: This is good.
- Anti-Villain: Probably general, might violate ROCEJ?
- Anxiety Dreams: Too general.
- Anyone Can Die: Needs a complete rewrite. People can die at any time, and not just because they were Too Dumb to Live.
- Apathetic Citizens: Looks like it was written by someone on a soapbox. Probably violates ROCEJ.
- Apathetic Student: Too common.
- Apathetic Teacher: Not sure how to handle this one.
- Apologizes a Lot: Too general.
- Appeal to Authority: Might need a rewrite?
- Appeal to Force: The North Korea pothole is probably an ROCEJ violation.
- Appeal to Nature: Is overly long.
- Appeal to Tradition: Might be written by the same Soapbox Sadie that wrote Apathetic Citizens.
- Appeal to Worse Problems: Probably too general?
- Appearance Angst: Too general.
- Apocalypse Cult: I wouldn't normally say this, but it might need an expansion? Maybe a better explanation?
- Apocalyptic Log: I guess it works.
- Appliance Defenestration: A little general.
- Arab Oil Sheikh: I guess it's fine?
- Arbitrary Headcount Limit: Not certain if these are correct uses of the trope.
- Arbitrary Skepticism: A little general.
- Archaic Weapon for an Advanced Age: I guess it's fine.
- Archnemesis Dad: Pretty general.
- Aren't You Going to Ravish Me?: Probably violates ROCEJ, also is probably misuse of the trope.
- Armor Is Useless: A ZCE.
- Armor-Piercing Attack: Not sure. Might be fine.
- Armoured Closet Gay: The link to the list might violate ROCEJ.
- Arms Dealer and Arms Fair: Not sure what to say on these. Might be fine.
- Arranged Marriage: Seems fine.
- Arrested for Heroism: Might be fine.
- Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: A little general.
- Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Might work?
- Arson, Murder, and Lifesaving: A ZCE.
- Art Evolution: The first part is not how "art evolution" works. Second part is too general.
- Artifact of Death: Might be fine.
- Artificial Limbs: Could use an expansion on von Berlichingen.
- Artistic License – Gun Safety: Probably violates ROCEJ.
- Artistic Stimulation: Could use an elaboration.
- Asbestos-Free Cereal: A ZCE.
- Ascended Extra: I have no idea what this one means but it's probably misuse.
- Ask a Stupid Question...: Too general, definitely doesn't need to be three bullets.
- As Long as It Sounds Foreign: Could use a rewrite to be less snarky, but otherwise fine.
- Assassin Outclassin': This one's good.
- Asshole Victim: Is written poorly.
- "Ass" in Ambassador: Might work, actually.
- Asskicking Leads to Leadership: A ZCE.
- Ass Shove: Pretty gross, probably doesn't need to be here.
- Assumed Win: A ZCE.
- A-Team Firing: Probably Fine.
- Ate His Gun: In general, I think we ought to remove all the suicide ones from Truth in Television for the same reason we've been NRLEP'ing the tropes themselves - they're potentially triggering to our vulnerable readers. Especially on Truth in Television, we don't want to be subtly suggesting to our suicidal readers "Hey, suicide is a thing people do!" because they might read it as "You should commit suicide!".
- Attention Whore: A ZCE.
- Atomic F-Bomb: Too general.
- The Atoner: Too general.
- Attractive Bent-Gender: Thirsty posting.
- Attractiveness Isolation: Too general.

- Awesome Underwater World: A ZCE.
- Awful Wedded Life: A ZCE.
- Awkward Father-Son Bonding Activity: A ZCE.
- Ax-Crazy: Not sure how to feel about this one, seems weirdly gatekeep-y in the Stop Being Stereotypical kind of way.
- Axes at School: I feel like we're going to come across a lot of these "Unfortunately" ZCE's.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
Koichi really steals? No dignity.aside from mopping up ZC Es by hiding them and taking out anything voted NRLEP, i believe we had a similar cleanup effort for Television Is Trying To Kill Us; let me see if i can find the old thread
of note is that Television Is Trying To Kill Us was moved to the Just for Fun namespace, should it be the same here?
hail, holy queen of the sea, you're whirling-in-rags, you're vast and you're sadI've always considered it some sort of JFF or psuedo-JFF page, more informative than others but not outright serious. Though TBH a lot of unoffensive entries are just kinda... obvious? Like, what value does it bring to note that "Jerkasses are common" and "people like to dye their hair" or "not all quarterbacks are assholes" (to use entries on the J to L page). Most of these entries feel less informative and more... boring, or cheesy, or treating people like they're dumb.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOne of the tropes listed there that really bothers me is Sealed Good in a Can. Like, first of all, how the hell does a seed vault factor into things, and second, where's the "truth" to be found if it hasn't been opened?
In all seriousness there are some pretty big shoehorns in there, even disregarding the trivial things that people have known about since the beginning of time.

Silver and gold, silver and goldthats the same issue we had with Television Is Trying To Kill Us iirc; both people who were the biggest defenders of it left the site at some point when it was made a problem page by TRS
i feel like "important macguffin stored for future use in case of catastrophe" is another trope
though now i get the image of all the plants talking like Zordon...
hail, holy queen of the sea, you're whirling-in-rags, you're vast and you're sadThat's a big problem, a lot of examples are very Chairs-y. Like The Alleged Car for instance, no one for a second thought that junker cars don't exist. Do we need to point out things that are obvious?
What's throwing me on that one is that Sealed Good in a Can is supposed to be for good aligned creatures sealed away, and while the seed vault is good for the environment, the seeds themselves have no moral alignment. They're just seeds.

Koichi really steals? No dignity.
I've found that some entries in the Truth in Television index are problematic. Common issues are:
- Absent Aliens: At least to the date of this writing, no sentient alien species from non-Earth planets have been documented and observed on Earth. Nor have living humans from Earth physically arrived on other planets aside from the Moon, being aliens to those planets. Fully explains why this is TIT
- Absurdly Spacious Sewer: The gruyere of Paris. It has a whole underground community due to their delicate catacombs and sewers. There are illegal shops and theatres under there. Explains why there is at least one Real Life example
ZCE- Abusive Parents: Unfortunately. No explanation given
Misuse- Made of Evil: Some individuals throughout history who seem to have taken enjoyment only out of how much they could directly and indirectly harm people and/or the environment, and societies constructed on the concept of racist hatred and genocide and killing. No more will be said, and no real life examples (except for Useful Notes/Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany) should be discussed because what people and societies are such is incredibly subjective for the most part. Shoehorning; also impossible since evil is not a physical substance
ROCEJ Violations- Accidental Pervert: Sometimes happens as a result of Asperger's syndrome or autism, clumsiness, places with high capacity, cultural differences, or social isolation - someone doesn't understand that their words or actions could be taken as sexual or sexual invitations, or worse, as sexist or sexual harassment. Making negative comments about mental disorders
