A mysterious woman who is also a police officer. She sometimes encounters Dregg on his journeys.
  • Establishing Character Moment: She is first found relaxing in a treasure chest. This cements her as an odd individual. She only gets stranger as time goes on.
  • Foil: To Dregg. She's calm, collected, relaxed, and esoteric. Dregg tends to be easily agitated, straightforward, and on edge.
  • Heavy Sleeper: She'll sleep anywhere, and takes a while to wake up.
  • Nice Girl: She's much friendlier than Dregg.
  • Sleepyhead: Well, she does have narcolepsy.
  • Token Good Teammate: Of The scion empire, she may be the only person there that isn't a terrible person. The Wolves' Bane side series focusing on her shows she isn't the only one, but they're definitely few and far between in Scion.
  • Worthy Opponent: Her and Dregg see the other as this.

"Heroes"

    Tira Lawford

Dregg's fellow police officer. She's far more enthusiastic and hasty than him.
  • Accuse the Witness: Her preferred method of solving crimes in the first game. Dregg has to break it to her how terrible of a method this is, something she doesn't take well.
  • Badass Boast: She has a stupid, yet impressive one.
Tira When I find him, I swear I will personally kick his ass to jail.
  • Bullying a Dragon: She tries to singly apprehend Eva, a dangerous killer. Dregg has to talk her down from it, pointing out the Curb-Stomp Battle that would ensue if she tried.
  • Catchphrase: Who wants to be arrested?!
  • Defective Detective: She jumps to conclusions far too quickly and is a massive Mood-Swinger.
  • Epic Fail: In the first game, her strategy to catching the culprit is picking random witnesses and trying to arrest them
  • Fiery Redhead: She's ginger and full of energy and zeal.
  • Foil: To Dregg. She's energetic and overly hasty while he's slow and methodological in his approach.
  • Genki Girl: An adult example. She's incredibly energetic and quick to jump to conclusions, giving the analytical Dregg frequent headaches with her spontaneous way of doing things.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: It's easy to anger her, as many unfortunate people find out throughout the series.
  • Incoming Ham: When she appears in the second game, she makes herself known immediately.
Tira WHERE THE HELL IS THAT IDIOT?
  • It's Personal: She wishes to capture Eva, due to the woman evading her attempts in the past.
Tira This is great, I finally get to nail that bitch..!!!
  • Mood-Swinger: Her mood jumps all over the place, and she can go from hyperactive to furious in the snap of a finger.
  • Shipper on Deck: In the first game, she jokingly states Dregg would make a good couple with the Neighbour. He's not amused.
  • This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: She has a choice term to describe Eva. Three guesses to what that term is.

Dregg's rival. A fellow investigator who adores Princess Sarah.
  • A Lighter Shade of Grey: Flawed and obnoxious as he may be, he's still ever so slightly more morally sound than Dregg is.
  • Anti-Hero: He's rude, obnoxious, yet still wishing to solve crimes and make the world a better place.
  • Bad Boss: He's a massive jerk to his employees and sometimes forgets to pay them.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: In the second game, he expresses his desire to be tossed into the air. This happens when Dregg and Tira crash into him.
  • Blatant Lies: He says he's unfazed when Dregg threatens to tell his wife about the necklace he got from Princess Sarah. He's quaking as he says this.
  • The Bore: In the second game, his testimony is so boring even the king falls asleep.
  • Butt-Monkey: He's the butt of many jokes, as everyone around him thinks he's a massive idiot. It's not hard to see why.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: His dimensional debate with Dregg ends with Dregg making quick work out of the overly ambitious detective.
  • Death Seeker: He becomes suicidal when Princess Sarah is kidnapped. Dregg has to snap him out of this.
  • Defective Detective: He's an utter moron who only wishes to improve his standing with the higher ups. He doesn't get on with most people, and in turn they all hate him.
  • The Ditz: Despite his moderately high rank, he's a total idiot.
  • Establishing Character Moment: From the onset, he's shown to be an ambitious yet dimwitted individual who sees himself far more highly than he has any right to.
  • Expy: A loose one of Early series Miles Edgeworth. They're both rivals to the protagonist with higher wealth, more resources, and a smug aura surrounding them. They're both also massive fans of a form of media (steel samurai for Edgeworth and Princess Sarah for Abbott.)
  • Eye Scream: In the third game, Dregg can poke him in the eyes.
  • Fan Boy: Of Princess Sarah.
  • Freudian Excuse: He's desperate to live a life of luxury due to his childhood in poverty. His attempts to climb the police ladder are often careless and overly hasty but he just wishes to have the same success story his father had. Too bad he lacks his father's intellect.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: When he's not being a jerk to Dregg, he's trying to at least be on decent terms with him. Dregg sees him about as highly as you'd expect.
  • Gasshole: In the fourth game, he comes down with a sickness that leaves him flatuent. Dregg almost has to endure a carriage ride home with him, which fortunately doesn't happen in the end.
  • Good Parents: One of the things that stops him from being too unlikable is the fact he's a good father, no doubt something he inherited from his own dad.
  • Happily Married: He's married and has children, and he speaks highly of his wife.
  • Hero Antagonist: Unpleasantness aside, he's trying to find the truth like Dregg, even if he's a pompous blowhard.
  • Heroic BSoD: He becomes catatonic when Princess Sarah is kidnapped in the third game.
  • High Hopes, Zero Talent: He is extremely ambituous and wants to be successful like his father, but lacks any of the intelligence and skill his father possesses.
  • Hypocritical Humor: He gets offended when Tira calls him "grey hair" moments after calling her an "old cow."
  • Irony: His idol has a crush on his rival, who couldn't care less about her.
  • Jerkass: He's frequently arrogant, obnoxious, and stupid. Dregg isn't the only person that can't stand him.
  • No-Respect Guy: Nobody cares much about him, and he's mocked by everyone.
  • Privileged Rival: He has far more resources than Dregg, with a huge amount of wealth as well as family in high places. Despite this, he's too incompetent to be a Worthy Opponent to Dregg in the slightest.
  • Purple Is Powerful: He wears purple and has more tools at his disposal than Dregg does.
  • The Rival: He's Dregg's rival, as the two of them are always at each other's necks.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When he sees the dragon in the second game, his reaction is to attempt to run like the dickens.
  • Skewed Priorities: He freaks out when Dregg calls the princess by her first name. Meanwhile, he's just rescued her from being kidnapped.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: He is nowhere near as impressive as he wants people to believe.
  • Smug Snake: He sees himself as a great investigator and bosses people around while being assured of his superiority. This quickly backfires on him most of the time.
  • Warmup Boss: In early games, he's the first person Dregg tends to face off against, helping Dregg to prepare for later and more difficult adversaries.
  • You Bastard!: If Dregg's feeling especially mean, he can get Princess Sarah to say she doesn't know who Polly is. Polly rightfully calls him an asshole for doing this.
  • Younger Than They Look: Would you believe he's only in his 20s?

    Felicia Lionheart
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2021_11_23_10925_pm.png
some caption text
A woman who fights crime whereever it may be. She just loves fighting.
  • Anti-Hero: She's got an obsession with initiating physical altercations, seeking out anyone to fight, even if they happen to just be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
  • Badass Boast: She has an awesome one in the third game.
Felicia Those who hurt the king, beware, for I, Felicia Lionheart will stab you till you ask for forgiveness.
  • Big Damn Heroes: She swoops in at just the right moment to save Dregg from three soldiers attacking him. Then she beats him up instead, mistaking him for the aggressor.
  • Blood Knight: She loves fighting and will seek out criminals to attack.
  • Catchphrase: Justice! Justice! Justice!
  • Dark Is Not Evil: She wears black due to being a member of the crow squad, but is on the side of good, terrible as she may be at doing good.
  • The Ditz: She's extremely stupid, being a good fighter but lacking any intelligence or perception.
  • Dumb Muscle: She's as powerful as she is stupid.
  • Epic Fail: In an attempt to protect someone who is being attacked, she attacks the wrong person, helping the criminals get away.
  • Establishing Character Moment: She swoops down out of nowhere to save the day when Dregg is being attacked, then attacks him instead, thinking he's the aggressor. This shows her as a powerful, impulsive, and stupid person.
  • Friend to All Children: Due to being a womanchild, she gets on amazingly with children. Ina, Mina, and her become quick friends, due to their immaturity and sadism.
  • Graceful Loser: She's okay with admitting defeat, thrilled that she has found somebody strong enough to best her in combat.
  • Knight Templar: She believes fighting crime is more important than anything, putting herself in harm's way just so she can attack those she sees as wrongdoers. This occasionaly leads to some awkward mishaps, such as attacking the wrong person.
  • Insane Troll Logic: She gets angry with Dregg for dodging her knife before she can stab him. She thinks that since he's a criminal (he's not,) he deserves to be stabbed. She then tells the king to shut up after he interjects that Dregg wasn't trying to hurt him.
  • Manchild: A female example. She's extremely immature, seeing the world in a very black and white way while acting petulantly when she doesn't get her way. This causes her, Ina, and Mina to become good friends very quickly.
  • Odd Friendship: With Ina and Mina, due to the three of them being immature, sadistic, and fun loving.
  • Sadist: She enjoys hurting people far more than what is acceptable.
  • Sweet Tooth: She apparently adores candy.
  • Unexpected Gameplay Change: In the fourth game, her levels are standard RPG battles.
  • Worf Had the Flu: In the fifth game, she almost dies due to a sudden and mysterious illness. Fortunately, she gets better soon after.
  • Worthy Opponent: She congratulates some of her opponents for putting up a good fight in the fourth game if they happen to battle well.

    Gru Valerious

The chief of police. He has several ex wives.
  • Benevolent Boss: He's a fair man to his employees, pushing them to achieve their criteria while respecting them as people.
  • Catchphrase: One that relates to his many divorces.
    Gru Not again...!
  • The Commissioner Gordon: Him and Dregg get on rather well, all things considered.
  • Da Chief: He's the chief of police in Rightia.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: He's got a small scar on his face and is one of the most heroic characters in the series.
  • Nice Guy: He treats his workers well and puts up with Dregg. Dregg doesn't seem to mind him, so their respect goes both ways.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He's friendly, rational, and he does his job well without giving into the ridiculous situations that surround him. He may be one of the only decent people in the kingdom.
  • Serial Spouse: He's been divorced many times.

    Captain Buldark
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2021_11_22_122829_pm.png
some caption text
A captain of the army.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: He's skilled enough as a fighter to detain a dragon so this is a given. He's one of the few people in the kingdom that rightfully earned his position.
  • Catchphrase: Have at you!
  • Eye Scream: He's blind in one eye, as shown by a massive scar that goes right through it. How it happened is never explained.
  • Good Is Not Soft: While friendly and approachable, he's blunt about his opinions and won't hesitate to critisise needlessly dangerousn or idiotic actions, even if it means confronting the king himself.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: He has a scar across his eye, and is a loyal member of the military.
  • Mr. Exposition: He gives Dregg details about the cases he investigates and fills him in on information he cannot find elsewhere.
  • Nice Guy: He's a bit harsh sometimes, but he's a good natured and well intentioned person that only wants what is best for the kingdom.
  • Only Sane Man: He's probably one of the only rational people in power in the entire series.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He's a captain of the army who is rational and intelligent in all his appearances.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: He's not afraid to call people out for their dangerous and insane decisions, such as when he strongly objects to the king holding a court trial for a dragon in the second game. Naturally, this is ignored.

Royalty and Royal servants

    King Frake
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2021_11_22_125248_pm.png
some caption text
The king of Rightia. He's a nice, if naive man.
  • Ass Shove: He once accidentaly sat on a carrot. It's likely the carrot was vertical, hence why the carrot business isn't going well.
  • Broken Pedestal: He lost all his respect for Madam Raven when he realised she tried to kidnap his daughter.
  • Butt-Monkey: Nothing ever goes right for him, and he's constantly having to be protected from people hellbent on ending his life.
  • Catchphrase: Save me...
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: He's rather out of touch and easily swayed by outlandish suggestions.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When presented with evidence that a traitor is out to get him, he comments on the terrible handwriting.
  • Crime Magnet: Being the king, there's a lot of people out to get him.
  • Damsel in Distress: He's frequently at the mercy of much more powerful people and kingdoms, making him this.
  • Death Is Cheap: In one of the games, he's shot by a crossbow and killed. Fortunately, this is reversed by Amber using her newfound time travel abilities to go back to before he was shot.
  • The Ditz: He's not known for being a particuarly bright individual, frequently putting himself in harms way for no good reason.
  • Good Parents: He loves his daughter greatly and supports her career as an idol.
  • Happily Married: To his second wife, Queen Boobia.
    • It's also implied he loved his first wife dearly as well.
  • Heroic BSoD: He breaks down and becomes almost inconsolable when his daughter is kidnapped.
  • Kangaroo Court: He's the judge of one, no less.
  • Manchild: He's quite immature and simple-minded, coming across as a boy stuck in a man's body.
  • Nice Guy: While a poor leader, he's a friendly and generous king who is on personal terms with many of his subjects.
  • Noodle Incident: He once sat on a carrot and now the carrot business is failing for farmers across the kingdom. It's likely he had a hand in this.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He's been voted as the easiest king to assassinated. This actually happens to him in one game, though he's fortunately brought back to life when Amber reverses time to before he was killed.

    Princess Sarah
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2021_11_24_14414_pm.png
some caption text
The princess of the kingdom and an idol singer.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: She is infatuated with Dregg, who is possibly one of the most bad tempered and difficult people in the kingdom. She willfully ignores his negative traits and swoons whenever he's around.
  • All-Loving Hero: She's probably the sweetest and most incorruptable character in the series, even forgiving the woman who tried to kidnap her.
  • Arranged Marriage: Part of Eva's Evil Plan was to marry her off to a hostile nation.
  • Broken Pedestal: She was horrified when she realised what Madam Raven had tried to do to her, being disappointed with her former manager for conspiring to have her kidnapped. While she forgives her, it's clear that she'll never see her as highly as she used to.
  • Big "NO!": She screams in anguish when someone is killed right in front of her.
  • Catchphrase: Let's get this song started!
  • Crush Blush: She has this sometimes when around Dregg.
  • Damsel in Distress: She's kidnapped by Eva in the third game. Fortunately, Dregg comes to rescue her before any serious harm befalls her.
  • Did I Just Say That Out Loud?: She accidentally mumbles her love of Dregg, becoming flustered when he almost hears her mumbling.
  • Dude Magnet: She's quite attractive, and many men (including married men) are head over heels for her. Unfortunately for her, her heart is set on one of the few men that doesn't feel the same way for her.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: Even as an adult, she still adores toys.
  • Girly Girl: An adult example. She loves dresses, toys, music, and has a fairytale view of romance. This is pretty much a given, as she is a princess.
  • Idol Singer: She wants to be a singer, already being moderately successful in Rightia.
  • Nice Girl: She's an incredibly friendly and beloved person.
  • Odd Friendship: She's great friends with princess Aria, despite the two of them being very different people.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Well, she is royalty after all.
  • Rescue Romance: She falls in love with Dregg when he saves her from being kidnapped. He doesn't feel the same way.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: She's the girly girl to Princess Aria.

    Counselor Icelot

The king's advisor. He's far more rational and collected than him.
  • Awful Wedded Life: He is stated to be more agitated than normal due to his wife returning.
  • Bait-and-Switch: In the third game, it seems like he's going to tell the clerk off for refusing to listen to Dregg. Instead, he congratulates her.
  • The Comically Serious: He keeps a straight face, no matter what strange things happen to or around him.
  • Consummate Professional: He never loses his cool, keeping calm and collected no matter the circumstances.
  • The Dreaded: Everyone is terrified of him due to his icy personality. Even the king fears being scolded by him.
  • Good Is Not Nice: He generally treats people with scorn and is a cold individual, yet is helping keep Rightia functioning.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: He is an incredibly skilled advisor, picking up the pieces that King Frake frequently dops and putting them in the right place with skill and tact. He may be the sole person keeping the kingdom functioning.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: he's got cold and intense eyes to go along with his cold and intense personality.
  • Only Sane Man: He has to be this, considering how loopy the king is. Though sometimes he'll go along with the king's more idiotic suggestions if there's no way to convince him otherwise.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: His son died in a war twenty years ago, something that still causes him a great deal of grief.
  • The Stoic: Few things faze him, even the idiocy of the citizens of Rightia.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: He congratulates the clerk for refusing to listen to Dregg's outlandish ideas.

    Queen Boobia
The king's second wife. She is rumored to be an utter imbecile.

    Sir Lore

One of the four council members.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: He gives one to the other council members at the end of the second game, reminding them that the trial for the dragon is to show how civilised the kingdom is. He states that letting the killer go free because of the council's selfishness will reflect negatively on them and the kingdom, explaining how it's their duty to review all evidence, boring as it may be.
  • Awful Wedded Life: From some of his statements to Dregg, it seems like his marriage is a rather rocky one.
  • Brutal Honesty: He's not afraid to speak his mind, even to the king. He's also rather blunt and a bit rude to Dregg, though this makes him look far more suspicious than he is due to him having a weak alibi in the third game.
  • Catchphrase: I don't accept your existence.
  • Fair-Weather Friend: Sometimes, he is a strong ally, and other times, he's an annoying obstacle.
  • Purple Is Powerful: He wears light purple and is a powerful council member.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: In the second game, despite the boring trial going on for an obscene amount of time, he's willing to prolong it so all the evidence can be presented. This puts him at odds with some of the other council members who just want to go home and get this trial over with. While he's not always this impartial, he generally is quite reasonable in his assertions.
  • Red Herring: He is far more brash with Dregg than the other three counselors, has a terrible alibi, and provides little useful information. He's not at all related to the kidnapping of Princess Sarah however.

    Madam Raven
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2021_11_22_41514_pm.png
some caption text
The second of four council members. She is Princess Sarah's manager.
  • Anti-Villain: Her goals were noble, but her actions were detestable, almost causing irreparible damage to the entire kingdom.
  • Arc Villain: She is Sarah's kidnapper and The Heavy of the third game.
  • Berserk Button: Mentioning her age is a quick way to send her into a Tranquil Fury.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": She starts screaming this as Dregg really starts closing in on her.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She seems like a great mother figure to princess Sarah and a loyal servant to the royal family, but she's actually a kidnapper with a broken sense of justice.
  • Boyish Short Hair: She has very short hair, but is exceedingly ladylike in appearance nonetheless.
  • Catchphrase: I'm late for my appointment.
  • Easily Forgiven: Despite what she did to Princess Sarah, Sarah still forgives her, even if she's a bit disappointed in her drastic actions. While their relationship is irreversably strained, Sarah still understands what Raven was trying to do, even if she completely disagrees with what she did.
  • Epic Fail: Her plan to liberate Sarah from her overly confined lifestyle involved handing her to someone who wished to do far worse to her.
  • Embodiment of Vice: Vanity. She is obsessed with her appearance and cares deeply about how she looks. This goes to a deeper level when it's revealed just how obsessed with public perception she really is.
  • Evil Plan: To give Princess Sarah a better chance of following her dreams, she used an onion cart to smuggle her out of the castle, then handed her off to Eva to have her taken to another kingdom where she could be the idol she always wanted to be. Unfortnately Eva's own Evil Plan was far more malevolent, as she was using this to force Sarah into an unwanted Arranged Marriage.
  • Fallen Hero: Once a loyal member of the royal council and Princess Sarah's trusted manager, She conspired with Eva to commit treason by kidnapping Sarah, almost plunging Rightia into civil war due to her actions.
  • The Fashionista: She's obsessed with looking good, with her wanting to go to her appointment being a running gag throughout her appearances.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Her nurturing facade is as fake as it comes, as she was the one who kidnapped Princess Sarah. While her care for Sarah was genuine, everything else about her personality was phony.
  • Foreshadowing: In a throwaway line, she states that Princess Sarah could start a war if she wished, due to being so desired by men. This was Eva's plan all along.
  • Graceful Loser: When backed into a corner that she can't escape from, she admits everything and surrenders herself to the police.
  • The Heavy: She's the one that kidnaps Princess Sarah.
  • He Knows Too Much: She tried to have Dregg killed for finding out she was the traitor.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: She forgot only she had behind the scenes access to Princess Sarah's songs and recited the lyrics to one of them, revealing she was in Sarah's room at the time of her kidnapping.
  • Hyper-Competent Sidekick: She was a respected and trusted advisor and manager for Princess Sarah until she tried to kidnap her.
  • I Never Said It Was Poison: What untimately proves to be the final nail in her coffin is the fact she can memorise the lyrics of one of Princess Sarah's songs, a song not released to anyone other than Sarah and her kidnapper.
  • Like a Son to Me: She saw Princess Sarah like a daughter. She still kidnapped her though.
  • Makeup Is Evil: She wears makeup and is a treasonous kidnapper.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When she realises that she almost ruined Princess Sarah's life with her reckless kidnapping plan, she breaks down and finally sees the error of her ways.
  • Narcissist: She's vain to an impressive level, manipulative, impulsive, and extremely egotistical.
  • Neat Freak: She hates messy things, one of her many stereotypical feminine traits.
  • The Reveal: She kidnapped Princess Sarah.
  • Slasher Smile: She gets one when her true colors are revealed.
  • Smug Snake: Her self confidence is something else.
Raven They are puzzled. They don't know what to do. You can search all you want, but you will never find her, my plan is perfect, like me.
  • The Smurfette Principle: She is the sole female member of the council.
  • Tempting Fate: A comedic example.
Raven You are 500 years too late to defeat me in a debate, Dregg.
Dregg Wow really? You are that old?
Raven You will pay dearly for that.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Since she tried to kidnap Princess Sarah, this is a given.
  • Tragic Villain: She lost her husband in a needless war, causing her to hate Rightia and everything it stood for. While her plans were detestable, she really wanted Sarah to be free from a life where she was merely a pawn in everyone else's chess game.
  • Tranquil Fury: When Dregg makes a joke about her age, she's so angry she doesn't even raise her voice.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Eva played her like a fiddle, almost successfully smuggling Sarah out of Rightia due to Raven's naievity.
  • Villainous Breakdown: When her crimes are revealed and when she discovers Eva betrayed her, she breaks down crying and confesses to all of her misdeeds, explaining her motive.
  • Walking Spoiler: She kidnapped princess Sarah and tried to murder Dregg, showing that she is by far the most unscrupulous out of Rightia's royalty.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: While her actions were abhorrent, she wanted the best for Princess Sarah, wishing for her to be free to pursue the music career she always wanted. Unfortunately for her, she handed Princess Sarah off to Eva who wanted to have her married off to a neighboring royalty to undermine Rightia's leadership. When she realises that Eva lied to her, she breaks down and admits everything.

The third council member.
  • Catchphrase: Get lost!
  • Eyes Always Shut: He rarely, if ever, opens his eyes.
  • Hidden Depths: While highly intelligent, he also is incredibly skilled at making and marketing merchandise of Princess Sarah.
  • Insufferable Genius: He's an incredibly intelligent man with a high degree of power, something that has left him quite smug and haughty. While not a fully fledged Jerkass, he's far from the being most approachable member of the council.
  • Nothing Personal: He has little like or dislike for the royal family, he merely sees them as his employers. While he buys lavish gifts for the king, it's purely a tactical move to stay on his good graces.
  • Professional Butt-Kisser: He frequently bribes the king to stay on his good terms. He's apparently good at finding out what King Frake likes.
  • Purple Is Powerful: He has purple hair and is one of the most powerful men in the kingdom.
  • Red Herring: It seems like he's the likely culprit, due to some false foreshadowing pointing to him. It turns out that Eva disguised as him to infiltrate the castle and all he's guilty of is being a total jerk.
  • Stubborn Mule: He is very hard to persuade, complicating matters for people trying to propose alternative ideas to him.

A member of the council and Polly's father.
  • Arranged Marriage: He tried to get Princess Sarah married to Polly. The king refused.
  • Art Evolution: He's got grey hair and looks much older in the third game. Being stuck in a Kangaroo Court where the defendant is a dragon will do that to you.
  • Catchphrase: Good to see you.
  • Cool Old Guy: He's quite old for someone in the middle ages, and is a reasonable if stern man who only wants to find the truth.
  • Excellent Judge of Character: He suspects that one of the counselors is the culprit in the third game, and allows Dregg to conduct his investigation on them. He even slips in a fake confession to draw suspicion onto all of them, forcing Dregg to analyse them thoroughly. This ultimately helps catch the real culprit.
  • Eyes Always Shut: He doesn't open his eyes much, as having them closed is his default and most frequently used sprite.
  • Good Parents: He cares for his son deeply and goes out of his way to give him the right tools to lead a happy life. While Polly's a bit of a failure, he's aquired decent parenting skills from his father.
  • Nice Guy: He's probably the friendliest of the counselors, being cordinal, if harsh, to Dregg.
  • Older and Wiser: He's much older than the other council members, and he's by far the most intelligent.
  • Only Sane Man: He is by far the most rational out of the counselors, making sure to keep them in check when they err to the wrong side.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He is an incredibly rational and intelligent man.
Abbott Relations don't matter when it comes to truth and justice. You will remember it well next time, Sir Eisen.
  • Self-Made Man: He went from a low level police officer to one of the king's council members.
  • Stubborn Mule: While he will consider worthwhile evidence, he needs to be convinced it's noteworthy enough to warrant analysing. He's apparently well known for this line of thinking.
  • Younger Than They Look: In the second game, he's this. This is fixed with his Art Evolution where he looks a lot closer to his age.

An evil little girl. She is the sister of Mina.
  • Berserk Button: She hates being called a 'Little Angel' and will take extreme revenge upon those that do. Jenna from the Invidia games is on the receiving end of this.
  • Big Damn Heroes: [[spoiler:She and Mina ride on Mr Snuggles and rescue Dregg before he falls to his death.
  • Catchphrase: Knell (meant to say kneel) before me.
  • Child Prodigy: She can outsmart people three times her age by solving complex puzzles. It's safe to say she's going places.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Her hair and eyes are both red, even if her eyes are far more reddish looking.
  • Enfant Terrible: Due to her age, she can't do much harm to people, but it's clear she wants to.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: She loves her brother and is always seen by his side.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Don't let her cuteness fool you, she's up to no good.
  • Kiddie Kid: What stops her from being a full blown villain is her childishness, preferring to be petulantly sadistic rather than outright evil.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: She has red eyes, and is a dangerous little girl.
  • Sadist: Making people falling into hopelessness is her favorite pasttime.
  • Sweet Tooth: Her and Mina have been robbing candy stores with Mr Snuggles.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour: Some of her dialogue is rather ....disturbing, especially for a 10 year old girl.
  • Women Are Wiser: She seems to be a bit more intelligent than her brother.

An evil little boy. He is the brother of Ina.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Him and Ina ride on Mr Snuggles and rescue Dregg before he falls to his death.
  • Catchphrase: Come play with us.
  • Child Prodigy: He's almost as intelligent as his sister and hasn't even reached adolescence yet.
  • Enfant Terrible: He's a little kid and on his way to becoming a villain.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Brat he may be, he loves his sister dearly.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He may have few morals just like his uncle, but even he tries to snap Dregg out of commiting a massacre.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: He may look innocent, but is well on the path to becoming a very dangerous individual.
  • Kiddie Kid: He's very young so this can be understood. Sadism and satanism aside, he has normal childish interests, such as playing outside and candy.
  • Refuge in Audacity: He tries to con the king into giving him free sweets over Dregg's "death." This is partly justified, as he is only 10.
  • Sadist: He seems to be delighted with the concept of human suffering, tormenting people (like Dregg) to provoke their despair.
  • Sweet Tooth: Him and Ina have been robbing candy stores with Mr Snuggles.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour: He's incredibly familiar with the concept of death and rumored to be a satanist. Oh, and he's only 10.

Dregg's sister. He doesn't mind her.
  • Cool Big Sis: She's levelheaded and friendly, as well as Dregg's older sister.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Like her daughter, her eyes and hair are red.
  • Foil: To Dregg. She's family oriented, friendly, and charismatic. He's ....none of those.
  • Good Parents: While Ina and Mina are both hellspawn out to wreak carnage as only kids can, she is loving to them and tries to keep them under control.
  • Happily Married: She's able to cope with her husband's eccentricies and the two seem to love each other deeply.
  • Nice Girl: She's friendly and polite to Dregg, so much so that he doesn't mind her.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Seeing a dragon in her house doesn't alarm her at all, and she immediately accepts it as another member of the family.

A terrifying dragon who is eventually adopted by Dregg.
  • Catchphrase: Graahhh....!!!!
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Mr Snuggles is a terrible name for a dragon. That's what happens when two ten year olds are responsible for naming him.
  • Gentle Giant: It's a massive dragon who wouldn't hurt a fly. At least before Ina and Mina teach them to maul people, but still won't kill anyone. It's still Played for Laughs when it happens, though to be fair when it does, it's when Valentine wants to attack Mina.
  • Good All Along: It didn't hurt anybody, regardless what some would have you believe.
  • Nice Guy: He's a friendly and gentle dragon that just wants to be looked after. Even Dregg warms up to him.
  • Refuge in Audacity: The dragon is put on trial for murder in a courtroom so Rightia can show how fair their legal system is. It's as stupid as it sounds.
  • Red Herring: It didn't kill Professor Wordsworth. It was his pet and was trying to bring him back to life.

Cayla's husband, Ina and Mina's father and Dregg's brother in law. The two of them hate eachother.
  • Berserk Button: He hates when people insult his moustache, as it's his pride and joy.
  • Establishing Character Moment: His first scene shows him to be loud, obnoxious, disdainful of Dregg, and incredibly proud of his moustache.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He may hate Dregg but even he won't let him die, saving his life before he can slip into a coma.
  • Incoming Ham: As his opening shows.

Villains

    Draziel Euphore
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drazieleuphore_1.png
some caption text
Head Councilor of Scion and close to the Emperor of Scion, Draziel Euphore is behind many of the machinations of the game from the shadows, at least until he decides to get more directly involved.
  • A God Am I: He has a severe god complex and loves controlling people, and his goal is to become ruler of Griva as a God-Emperor. Technically by the game's cosmology he is a god, too.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Scion's aristocracy is highly corrupt and sadistic. Draziel is one of the worst.
  • Bad Boss: He's not particularly pleasant to those who fail him, having used mind control to make one minion stab themselves after failing in one of his plots.
  • Evil Chancellor: Initially, this is what his role is in Scion. He has the Emperor's ear and encourages him to have Scion try to conquer weaker countries in Griva. He also encourages and emboldens the corruption of Scion's highly corrupt aristocracy, allowing him to more easily get away with his own sinister plans.
  • God's Hands Are Tied: They're supposed to be anyways. There are cosmic rules that are supposed to prevent him from unduly getting involved in human affairs. He breaks these rules and it causes a Serial Escalation in the series once he does by forcing the others to get involved.
  • The Man Behind the Man: At least before he gets more directly involved, it turns out he was masterminding several of the series villainous plots, albeit indirectly. He has a large role in turning Scion into a corrupt, aggressive nation that threatens their neighbors. He was the one who masterminded a plot to kidnap Princess Aria to force Ferros into a war. He's also behind the Eden project, of which Eva is a product of, and a lot of Eva's actions are her trying to get out from Draziel's control. He does have a good reason for at least trying to stay in the background, as him not doing so would break the cosmic rules on gods in this setting, which he eventually does.
  • Was Once a Man: He used to be named Dr. Anthony Ziel, a Dean of Rightia Police Academy, and leader of the Bloodhound Mafia. When he's caught by Dregg and imprisoned, he has his mind broken by Dregg. Soon after, he lets Beelzebub possess him, and he renames himself Draziel Euphore.

A dangerous assassin. She is the killer of Eren Vil.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: She's the Lt. General of the balboa kingdom.
  • Bad Boss: In the third game, she randomly murders one of her own soldiers just to show how evil she is.
  • Berserk Button: She simply can't stand betrayers.
  • Catchphrase: Die for my amusement.
  • Complexity Addiction: She revels in these throughout the series. They tend to leave a large trail of evidence.
    • In the first game, she disguises herself as a priest on the same knight the priest enters (E. Vil) her target's house. She then is told that the deal is off, enraging her. Wanting to kill Vil without leaving an immediate witness, she hides in the barrel of wine he ordered, allowing herself to be carried in by Vil's assistant. She then breaks free from the barrel when there are no witnesses, kills Vil, then hides as a statue for the next 24 hours.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Her eyes and hair are both blue.
  • Dark Is Evil: Her disguise when trying to infiltrate the invidia games is black.
  • Dirty Coward: She runs away after being attacked by Ethan and Emily.
  • Enemy Mine: In episode 7, she forms one of a sort with Dregg, by giving him crucial information on Draziel's operations. She does make it clear she still considers Dregg an enemy, and states she also wins if Dregg ends up being killed by Draziel.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: She is unwilling to kill her sister. Draziel ordering Eva to do this is what sets Eva firmly against Draziel.
  • Evil Plan: In the third game, she has Princess Sarah kidnapped to marry her off to a hostile nation with the end goal being undermining Rightia. She uses Madam Raven and Merchant Dullard to take Sarah out of the castle unnoticed and put her onto her ship, where she was almost smuggled out of the kingdom.
  • Eviler than Thou: To Vil. He's a corrupt scumbag, but she's evil incarnate.
    • She's also this to Madam Raven. Raven was a Well-Intentioned Extremist, while Eva is nothing of the sort.
    • Later on this is inverted, as she is significantly less evil than Draziel Euphore, who becomes the more prominent antagonist.
  • Faux Affably Evil: She's polite and sophisticated, even when threatening to kill people.
  • Hate Sink: Cruel, smug, ruthless, and utterly despicable, she is clearly not meant to be liked. Later it's subverted a little when you find out she's the product of a super-soldier project but wasn't granted free will, and her master plan was trying to break free, though she is willing to sink to any depths to do so.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: If she'd just taken a few minutes more to make sure the statue she disguised as was the right one and that it was facing the correct direction, she would not have had her cover blown.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: She has blue eyes that add to her cold and intense look.
  • Kick the Dog: She murders one of her own guards to prove a point to the terrified Princess Sarah.
  • Living Statue: One of her disguises is this. She uses this trick more than once.
  • Master of Disguise: She can make herself look like anyone, taking on the right persona for any occasion.
  • Nobody Here but Us Statues: She disguises herself as a statue after killing Vil, only being found out because she chose the wrong statue to disguise as and was looking the wrong way.
    • She does this again in the third game.
  • Obviously Evil: With her bombastic outfit and cruel personality, it's impossible to think of her as anything but a villain.
  • Samus Is a Girl: She's a feared assassin, and a woman.
  • Say My Name: She screams Dregg's name over and over when he Rescues Princess Sarah from her clutches.
  • Shame If Something Happened: She gives this speech to two hapless guards as she infiltrates the castle they're meant to be guarding.
  • Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids!: She has this in spades. This is especially apparent in the third game.
Eva Kindness is a virtue that holds people back.
  • Slasher Smile: She has one when she's feeling smug.
  • Starter Villain: She's the first antagonist Dregg and co encounter.
  • We Will Meet Again: She says this almost word for word when Tira threatens to catch her.

An enigmatic young man. He is the twin of Emily.
  • Affably Evil: Him and Emily may be incredibly dangerous people, but they're friendly and polite, if rather odd.
  • Ambiguously Gay: He believes that Dregg is flirting with him. It's implied he's not entirely unreceptive to this "proposition."
  • Apologetic Attacker: He apologises to Eva as him and his sister plunge a knife into her chest.
  • Brother–Sister Team: He works with Emily as the two of them go about their job.
  • Catchphrase: Emily is awesome.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: He has black eyes and black hair.
  • Dark Is Evil: he wears black and is working with the villains.
  • Establishing Character Moment: His first scene where he encounters Dregg shows that he's ever bit as odd, unnerving, and unsettling as she is, even if he's her lapdog.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Mina. They both tend to follow what their sister does and are both incredibly dangerous people who work for the main characters connected to their moral standing (neutral for Ina and Mina, and evil for Emily and Ethan.)
  • Married to the Job: He and Emily are both incredibly fond of their occupations.
  • Obviously Evil: He's incredibly creepy, so when his true nature is revealed, it's not even worthy of a spoiler.
  • Odd Friendship: Him and Emily have this with Ina and Mina, due to the four of them sharing a huge amount in common.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: He starts one before trying to kill Eva.
Ethan We wish you the best in the next life.

A strange and enigmatic young woman who is the twin of Ethan.
  • Affably Evil: She's friendly and polite, while also an incredibly evil woman.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Her and Ethan both apologise to Eva while attempting to kill her.
  • Brother–Sister Team: She works with her brother Ethan while they carry out their activities.
  • Catchphrase: I am awesome.
  • Curtains Match the Window: She has black hair and eyes.
  • Dark Is Evil: Like her brother, she wears black and conspires with dangerous criminals.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Her first scene shows that she and Ethan are strange, enigmatic, and creepy individuals almost certainly up to no good.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Ina. She's the smarter and more assertive one out of her and her twin brother, and a frequent accomplice of the villains.
  • Married to the Job: Her and her brother both enjoy their jobs dearly.
  • Narcissist: She sees extremely highly of herself, believing everything about her to be amazing.
    Emily I am awesome.
  • Obviously Evil: So much so that a spoiler is redundant. She's bad news, and her odd behavior in her first scene gives this away within seconds.
  • Odd Friendship: Her and Ethan have this with Ina and Mina, due to the four of them sharing a huge amount in common.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: She continues the line that Ethan said.
Emily So don't hold any grudges against us.
  • Women Are Wiser: She's the more assertive and dominant one out of her and Ethan, a paralel she shares with Ina.
