These are truly the best of the worst in terms of the film industry, with a trophy to prove it.

    Worst Original Song

The longest-running category that is no longer awarded, having been handed out for 20 consecutive years, followed by a one-off return three years later. By this time, theme songs for movies had become increasingly rare and even the equivalent Oscar category appeared in danger of being eliminated (with the Academy struggling to name a full five-song slate of nominees most years). Although that category has since rebounded, this one remains retired.

    Worst New Star

Based on the Golden Globe award for New Star of the Year (divided into Actor and Actress categories). May have hastened the elimination of that award in 1983, though the Razzies continued awarding it for another 15 years thereafter.
