- This scene in the webnovel. Abel was bemoaning his situation after his wooden Ortem truck broke down, foiling his escape from the village. He suddenly hear the sound of animal hoofs moving and turns around to find a horse-driven carriage, carrying burlap bags. He then hears a voice, not coming from the driver, telling him to stop sleeping on the side of the road, and the voice owner comes out from under the burlap bags pile. It's a girl with blue hair with sheep horns on her head, who then tells him this:
- After Abel and Mea succeed in capturing a female Balm Bird to use in Abel's new bio-Magic experiment, he asks Mea to hand him a magic stone and a bottle from his pack before he guts the poor bird. Mea hands him the bottle and the magic stone, but she won't let go of it! When he asks her what's wrong, she answers in a tearful voice:
Then Abel remembers doing something similar back in his village.
His sister praised him with open arms.
- The Abel Search Party is a source of comedy gold. Watching a group of adults and teens descendants of a clan renowned for their magical prowess descends into a sorry state from 2 days of walking, sleeping outdoors wary of wildlife and magic beasts, and missing their homes. Merely being doused by rain made them behave like their ancestors' wrath has descended upon them, despite making a shelter with earth magic. They are enough of a reason to read the "Side: Giselle" chapters to just to see how Giselle is faring with them.
- On the road to the Fage Territory on a wagon, Abel spots Quelgoblins, said to be stronger and more belligerent than normal Goblins, and gushes of how rare they are. Suddenly, the Quelgoblins shudders and run away, leading to this exchange:
Mea: “Abel, Is something there?”
Abel: “No, there were goblins in there, but they ran off
as soon as our eyes met.”
Mea: “…… They’re goblins with good instincts, aren’t they?”
Abel: “Really?”
- During the magic beasts thinning, Lark's private army, divided into three units, regroup on the rendezvous' point. Abel inspects the two units after their returns and notices: the faces of the second unit have gone pale and looking at him funny, and mumbling things at him. The reason: their route went where Abel left the 22 Nalgarn's heads and the body outside the territory.
Soldier 1: “…… It’s him, that white guy from the first unit.”
Soldier 2: “Watch out, if you put him in a bad mood, he’ll take your head off. Just like that Nalgarn.”
Soldier 3 (referring to Ashura 5000): “What’s that thing he’s sitting on? A monster from hell?”
- During the journey to the mountain to hunt for Live Foggs, Abel, Mea, Kamla, Sophia and Augen are taking a rest (for the third time, because of Abel's poor stamina). Abel tries asking the three Levi followers questions about the Riveras Kingdom and Levi church, to figure out the situation of Palgas village well. Once Sophia begins answering, she gets excited the more she talks about Nelgliffe and how great of a person he is to the kingdom, and begins flooding Abel with trivia's and facts, as he begins to feel danger as she gets closer and closer to him. Once Abel is asked about his reasons for asking, he replies that he is interested. This causes Sophia to get super excited on poor Abel and grabs his hand, and bombards him with suggestions to join Levi church, telling him how much she respects and admires him, and hoping to one day pray to Levi with him, while he feels dread from the thought of spending the mission with her. Fortunately, Kamla and Augen, decides to pull her away from Abel, seeing his distress, while she's fighting their grip and yelling at them. She tries to reach to Abel, only from Mea to pull Abel by the arm, tells Sophia that he isn't interested, and whispers to him, while glaring at Sophia:
- When they reached the Witch Tower of Altamir, Mea realizes that Abel is planning on holding off fully exploring the tower, because he's fearing for her safety. This leads to a rather awkward quarrel between the two, from Elia's point of view:
Mea: “You still want to go, don’t you? You don’t have to worry about Mea too much, you know? If
I’m a hindrance……
Mea will be waiting outside with Elia-san ……”
Abel (narrating): Elia is peeking at me from in front of me,
staring at me with narrowed eyes as if to say, “Ahhhh, you made her cry”.
Abel: “N, no, I want Mea to come too!”
Mea: “But
Mea doesn’t help you anyway……”
Abel (narrating): There was a
thin tear in Mea’s eyes. I was caught off guard by the stability lately, but I think
Mea has a fragile side, or perhaps a
wave of instability from time to time.
Abel: “Just you being there makes me feel better or something …… Well, look, I’d like to ask you to
help me with my luggage too……!”
Mea: “Really? Mea can be of help to Abel?”
Finally, the light returned to Mea’s face. I was relieved to see it for the moment.
When I glanced at Elia, she looked not at me, but at
Mea, squinting, like she was saying, “
You’re okay with that?”.
- Inside the Tower of Altamir, on the first floor, Abel meets his worst enemy:
Abel: “You-, you’re got to be kidding me……?”
I was astonished to see that unnatural staircase in the great outdoors.
At the same time, I cursed Altamir’s bad character.
But I didn’t expect to find such a vile trap from the first level.
Mea: “Abel, are you on to something?”
Seeing me, Mea calls out to me anxiously.
I quietly point to the stairs.
- Abel, initailly on-edge from seeing the Collector in front of him and is demanding something from him , quickly forgets himself and approaches the clearly dangerous adventurer, who just pointed a Big Freaking Sword at him a minute ago, and asks him to show him his legendary item: "Ravenous Dragon Tool Bag". When the Collector tells him he can't show it to him, Abel keeps finding a way to ask again and again:
Abel: “W-Where! Where is it! Can’t you show it to me!?”
Collector: “Fufun, I can’t ever let it go, though. I’ve used the power of other magic tools to blend in with my body and forcefully assimilate it.”
Abel: “Did you assimilate it into your body? Ah, the edge! Can you just give me the edge?”
Collector: “Huh! What a funny thing to say! This is the magical organ of the ravenous dragon that the sorcerers of long ago
could not destroy and had to dispose of in another dimension, you know? In the first place, there are
complex other dimensions unfolding inside. It’s not something that can be torn apart!”
Abel: “
So it’s okay if I can? The old alchemists were able to process it, so there must be some way to do it! Le-, let me try it!
I’ll give you the Wand of Destruction or whatever you want!”
Collector: “Ha! No, no! Of course, you can’t! The ravenous dragon’s tool bag role is also to
protect my heart, too, you know? I will not allow a child like you to touch such a precious thing!”
Abel: “Please! If it’s not possible,
just a look! I just want to look at it! Please take off your cloak and let me see! If you okay, let me touch it!”
- The Collector summons one of his favorite trophies: The head of “The Imperial Dragon Grimrome”, a decapitated head of a majestic looking evil dragon, with huge bifurcated horns, emerald-colored scales and a magnificent purple beard, and use its Breath Weapon on Abel. Abel creates his Hydeem Magi-Metal to reflect energy attacks and form a protective sphere to fully cover himself. The metal sphere endures the attack and Abel comes out safely, with the blast having ravaged the ground of the arena. However, the dragon head suffered the brunt of its own blast:
As I looked ahead, I saw that the horns of the floating imperial dragon Grimrome had been snapped off and part of his magnificent beard was balding.
The scales are also slightly cracked.
The dignified face of the Grimrome had turned into something quite pathetic. The scales have been peeled off from the base, and the sparse beard that remains looks pitiful.
Collector: “M-My …… My treasure …… Impossible, the head of the Imperial Dragon Grimrome …… turned, turned into something miserable like this ……!”
- As Abel overwhelms Collector with his "Abel whip", the latter summons his beast, “Universal Hardwood Behemoth”, a 40 meter across huge tree beast, with black leaves with strength of metal acting as its fur, for Collector to hide inside its thicket. Right after Collector boasts its beast's Nigh-Invulnerability, Abel's metallic whip strikes the behemoth, then:
Abel (narrating): The “Universal Hardwood Behemoth” was hit by my giant whip, and it dipped and creaked all over.
The hard, metallic leaves fell from its body, and the behemoth was instantly
stripped naked, revealing the collector hiding in its depths.
Abel: “
Huh, so it’s not that hard…….”
Collector: “
M-My, my behemoth!?”
- During Abel's fight with the Collector, the story suddenly shifts to the origin of one of the latter's ancient treasures, “Vase of 100 Karma”. It talks about it's creation 10,000 years ago and how Mahalvo sealed in it A hundred great demons, so they would eat each other to create a greater demon with even more power. Then it goes to Mahalvo instructing one of his Great Elders, Dogra, before he takes the rest of the Great Elders and goes to fight Kudor: Should Kudor goes to threaten his Country, Dogra should open the Jar and unleash the resulting demon inside it to fight Kudor. The jar was never opened and the Collector stole it, now with the demon inside it storing infinite amount of resentment and a proportional amount of magic power. Dubbing himself "The King of 100 Karma", he speculates that should the jar falls into Abel's hands, he'll give into his curiosity and open it, unleashing the Demon to feast on everyone and everything big and small, then he'll evolve further.... After Abel defeats the Collector, the latter attempts to use his “Ravenous Dragon’s Tool Bag”, only for it to have a hole ripped in it from all the fighting, but also dropped his entire stash of treasures he collected into the Chaos Vortex, which causes them to blow up, and the remains are sent to another dimension. One of said treasures.. was the Vase of 100 Karma. That's right, the King of 100 Karma had all this buildup rendered moot into a "Shaggy Dog" Story!! Doubles as well as a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment.
- Following the collapse of Altamir's Tower, Abel, Mea and Elia head back to Palgas village with Altamir and the Collector as well. However, they're stopped by Lark's private army and some adventurers recruits, along with Rinoa of the alchemist division, raising their weapons at them. Euris, leading the army, approaches them and pulls her sword... then drops it on the ground and kneels down:
- Shame telling Abel about a sudden change in the country's landmass, probably due to his fight with Kudor:
Shame: “Did you know that? In the easternmost part of the Dinrat Kingdom, there has been a massive deformation of the topography and undersea faults that have changed the ocean currents, and the royal family is trying to cover it up. Abel-chan did it, right!? It’s definitely
Abel-chan, right!?”
Abel (narrating): Is it the
Abel saw!?
The Abel saw cut
through the ocean floor!?
At that moment, I stopped thinking about everything and focused only on how to ensure that the damage to Kudor was done.
- Penrath, after he and Altamir grabs Abel by the shoulder and the former shaking the latter for more magic theory talk, comments that they are getting along very well and that he sees Alta as a worthy campanion to Abel, and giving a mocking look to Mea. Then, he begins listing more candidates in history he thinks are worthy of Abel, names and species Abel never heard about... until he reaches this before Abel asks him to stop:
Penrath: “Even if you include all living things, the only ones left are the wise dragon Kerubiun, the
Fire God Maharbo, and the
Evil goddess Kudor!”
Abel (narrating): What do you think people are?
- Followed by Altamir's reaction:
Altamir: “Wha-, Huh? Old Pen, what are you saying, you idiot! I’m not like that, you know!
I’m not interested in such frivolous things, and
I’m not the kind of person who can do such things. And of all of them, not this guy (Abel), not him! He’s scum!
He blew up someone’s house on the first meeting, you know!”
Abel (narrating): Altamir blushes and
slaps me and Penrath on the back.
What’s with this girl, she’s as excited as she was when she met Peter again.
Altamir: “And look,
Abel has Mea, right?”
- Peter with a dozen or so of his men appear before Abel could warn Penrath, hold Abel down and arrest Penrath, for being one of Levi's four Great Priests. The scene is presented as a very sad moment, with Abel losing his slave.. er fellow sorcerer and calling his name as he's dragged off. Abel falls on his knees after Peter tells him he cannot let someone like Penrath walk free, and Mea suddenly appears to comfort him with a hug, that he returns while crying. Then out of nowhere:
Peter: “Oh, Mea-chan, you’re here.
Thank you for the information, you’ve been very helpful.”
Peter turned around and waved his hand in the air.
Abel: “Peter-san!?”
I was
hit in the jaw by Mea vigorously standing up, and I fell to the ground.
Mea: “How could you! Why!
You said you’d never tell!”
Peter puts his hand to the tip of his lips, which are colored venomously with elegant gestures, and
smiles as he leaves.
Peter: “
It’s more important to kick Abel in the shins as many times as possible to keep him in a bit of a funk. It’s clear from this incident that
if he gets carried away, he’ll be in big trouble, right?”
Mea: “Peter-san …… Peter-san!
You Queer! You’re a black-hearted, lying, disgusting Queer!”
Mea’s eyes were filled with tears as she blamed Peter. When I looked up, my eyes met hers.
Mea: “
I-It’s not me, Abel!
M-Mea would not do that! That’s just the Queer’s lie, okay? Okay?”
- Abel ends up taking over the work for building the Magic Wave Tower, by himself!!! How did that happen? Well, Abel and Altamir originally hired many carpenters and alchemists from the territory to build the tower, but with them (Abel and Altamir) being Mad Scientists, they rushed the project and all workers went on a strike. They hired a carpenter supervisor on the promise that he would never work more than ten hours a day, and borrowed some of Peter's men to continue the work, but from the second day, Peter’s men collapsed from overwork. The day after that, a large number of Peter’s men went missing, and on the fourth day, the supervising carpenter asked Abel to stay away from him for breach of contract, and then Peter bowed to him and asked not to dispatch human resources.
- He builds the tower through controlling 50 Ortems carrying lumber and stone using his magic, and comments on the various colors his vision turned into from drinking his Abel Potion for 10 consecutive days of work! With Altamir acting as his supervisor and shouting and yelling at him. Propably in revenge for almost causing her death from overwork in the previous volume.
- Mea's opinion on Avel's picture, the Riveras Kingdom's replacement god who's loosely based on Abel:
