- Beware of unmarked spoilers.
- When Lark's private army was cornered by Hamelin and its hoards of magic beasts, consisting of hobgoblins, orcs, garms, red big bears, venomous colored big crocodiles and Great King Voge. The situation looks dire, and the area is surrounded by an Ominous Fog with a "cognitive disorientation barrier", to allow the beasts to pick who tries to run away. Abel decides to even the odds by letting his Ortem Ashura 5000 on the monsters. What follows is not only a an epic slaughter of monsters as the big wooden Ortem hacks its way through them, splattering blood and breaking bodies as it goes, but rising the moral of the soldiers as they go and follow the Ortem as it calls itself a god to assist it. Abel just thinks they should stay out of its way.
- Even better, the calls of Ashura 5000 “Praise me as the God” can be understood by the magic beasts, drawing them to attack it, and get them to be smashed by it. While the soldiers gain the upper hand on the beasts. Their reactions are as follow:
Soldiers:“I’m following God!”
“Uoooooooh!”
“I’ve decided that when this battle is over, I’m going to leave Fage territory and return to my wife! I’m supposed to be having a baby! I’m not ready to die here!”- Abel, wanting to end the fight before any casualties happen, summons his World Tree Ortem to his hands, and has it copy his chanting as he draws 13 magic circle to mow down the remaining monsters with Wind Blade spells. The result was 26 Wind Blade ripping the remaining monsters to shreds, frightening them for Ashura 5000 to maim and making them to run away, and none of the army were injured by it. Then, he sees Hamelin, who's trying to run away, and immobilizes it with wind magic and brings it to the ground. Then he blasts it with a total of six Fire Balls tearing away its smokey body as it screams in pain, then seals it inside the World Tree Ortem, and tries to think of a name for it.
- Rinoa's faction of the alchemy division, having been taught how to carve Ortems by Abel on a short notice, begin conjuring the cloud-gathering spell to make it rain on the Fage territory. After a while, the clouds begin to move toward the territory in big clusters from all directions, the mages and a skeptical Rinoa are feeling happy and celebrating their hard work bearing result... until the clouds suddenly disperse and avoid the territory in sky. Rinoa realizes that someone powerful has set a ward that prevents clouds from gathering on the territory, while the faction members accepts failure. Jaguar, however, goes through a Despair Event Horizon and rants his frustration in a Despair Speech, having lost all hope in saving the territory. Seeing all this, Abel, decides to he waited long enough and casts his own cloud-gathering spell through the World Tree Ortem. A dazzling light fill the area as the clouds tries to penetrate the ward from one point, then Abel chants: “Form, Dragon”! The clouds swirl and gather into a dragon with a long body, that tears through and destroys the ward with a high-pitched sound! Spreading the clouds over the territory. Rinoa and the faction are in Stunned Silence after the display. Happy Rain follows after.Female Mage: “Abel-dono…… you, are you a human?”
- Abel taking down Icarus, a man who was untouchable to him with the citizens packing him. He concocts a foolproof plan to set the stage to destroy his credibility, making sure not to leave a weak point for Icarus to exploit and turn things to his favor. In all of its glory:
- He demonstrates the newly developed crop by Rinoa's alchemy division, the "Ortem Gourd", despite the citizens acting on their frustrations, dissatisfaction, jeers, skepticism, and are wondering why Icarus isn't in the event (Abel had Baron Lark send Icarus on a Wild Goose Chase to prevent him from Stealing the Credit for creating the crop). He impresses the crowd with the plant growing instantly with magic, showing them that indeed, what is taking Icarus years to begin researching, Rinoa's faction with Abel's help finished it in a day. Suddenly tension raises, when Icarus and his alchemy faction enters the scene.. and Abel burns the newly grown plant before Icarus sees it, as part of his plan.
- Icarus goes asking around the lord of the purpose of the gathering, sniffing around left and right. Abel confronts him and asks him to step aside as he's about to unveil the crop Rinoa's faction created. Icarus puts a facade of anger and shouts at both Abel and Lark that they are trying to get rid of him, adding that Abel took a copy of his research in front of the crowd, almost getting them to his side. Abel stays stoic as Icarus pile the accusations, letting him believe he already won, then he tells him that they already finished making the crop, luring Icarus further into admitting that his research is still in infancy for all the years spent on it, before noticing the crowd is looking at him funny.
- Abel asks Mea to hand him the previously used Ortem flower pot to place seeds on it again, and shows Icarus the plant growing in an instant again. He shouts "That's Impossible" many times and tries to hit the plant with his big staff but Abel makes the plant whack Icarus in the face, and he fell on his ass. Abel then hands him his "Report" paper, after he corrected everything with a red ink, and explains what kind of research it was. Figuring what's going to happen, he begins tearing up the report, only for Abel to scatter it with wind magic, for the residents to read, as Icarus shouts at his men to collect the papers.
- Abel signals Lark to speak, and Lark proceeds to reveal Icarus' actions to the crowd, of how for ten years he's been pretending to work on crop development research, when in reality he was lazily grogging himself with the research money and not producing results. Then he sentences him to be permenantly banned from the Fage territory. As Icarus hears all the citizens' jeers and booing at him, he staggers toward Lark, only for his path to be blocked.. by Euris and Lark's private army, who proceeds to take him to be imprisoned until they schedule his transport. Abel made sure that there is nothing for him in the territory.. or so he thought.
- During the Devil's Trial:
- Just as Abel realizes how tight Chloe's trap was, who got the crowd's support on the Devil's Trial, with none of his pleas for the crowd to see reason reaching and is about to consider throwing the towel and run away from Palgas village.. Mea busts into the trial! Pushing through the crowd of Levi followers, undeterred by Chloe's accusations at her for insulting the sacred ritual and confronts Chloe with an evidence proving Abel's innocence, the paper that Nelgliffe sent to Abel, containing the Livglass' recipe! She then spoke to the crowd full of hostile Levi followers and villagers on how Abel came to obtain the paper from Nelgliffe and why it was given to him, making the crowd suspect Chloe and demand seeing the paper. Chloe gets mad and denies knowing anything about the paper and tears it off Mea's hands.. only for the shredded papers to fall into the crowd's hands and recognize it, further implicating Chloe of abusing the Devil's Trial! Chloe couldn't handle the crowd's eyes and suffered a Villainous Breakdown, while Mea just diffused a situation that would've escalated had Abel decided to brute force with magic.
- After Nelgliffe arrives and orders for Abel's trial to be resumed, silences the crowd, has one follower restrains Mea to not interfere with Abel's execution, Mea apologizes for failing to save Abel despite her efforts. Abel tells her that she did great, because her action drew Nelgliffe from hiding, revealed his true colors, and now he can take him and Chloe out:
Mea: “N-, no way! No! Abel! Abel! I thought if I’d found that …… paper and that it would help Abel, and that it would solve everything. ……”
Abel: “No, it wasn’t in vain. It was great that you were able to drag out Nelgliffe here. If you hadn’t done that, I would have been overjoyed to kill the little thing and miss the big one.”- Abel breaks free from his bonds, using magic, freaking Nelgliffe and Chloe at the same time, and the crowd panics and runs away as a result. and Mea throws to him his World Tree Wand. Then, Abel order for the trial to be resumed, with Nelgliffe as the defendant, takes control of the torch with the fake Levi's flame using wind magic, throwing Chloe off to fall on her back as a result, and aims for Nelgliffe. Nelgliffe attempts to douse the torch with water magic, only for Abel to manipulate his magic circle to splash him instead, and prepare to throw the torch at him. Despite Nelgliffe's begging him for mercy, Abel is having none of it for his earlier trickery, and let him have the torch. Fortunately or not, Chloe ends up Taking the Bullet for Nelgliffe, and she's set ablaze instead.
Abel: The verdict is in. So you're the devil, Nelgliffe.- When Levi entered the fray after Nelgliffe summoned his arm, all bets are off! He almost demolished Palgas village with one throw with his Levi's Spear from the sky, if it weren't for Abel shooting his "Abel Ball" Spell at it. The resulting explosion threw Abel off the ground, but managed to cancel the spear's momentum to fall with less the Shockwave Stomp generated... still destroying the Levi church Nelgliffe was standing on its roof! Abel acts fast and takes control of Levi's spear, covering it with a magical ward to prevent Levi from calling his spear back to his hand and creates a huge arm from the church's rubble to pick the spear up... and throws it back at him! Not only does Levi lose a hand in the attack, its also the hand that has the spear's summoning emblem, allowing Abel to transfer it to his hand, giving him the power to summon the spear himself!
- During Abel's real fight with the Collector, the latter managed to overpower Abel's giant dragon made of rubble through a combination of using his chain dagger and “Right King of Shattering, Chromieshkeid Ray Sword”, taking the dragon apart and felling it. After the Collector assumes he won and tells Abel he should do better, bragging that he once slew three dragons at once in the past, the latter reveals he was Just Toying with Them and figuring his combat style, and creates five massive rubble dragons surrounding him. Cue the Collector's Big "WHY?!".Abel: “This is enough of checking things.”
- Despite that, Collector manages to hold his own against the dragons, felling three of them, requiring Abel to deploy Lapides sword on him while he's distracted. Collector calls Abel on that cowardly move, only for the remaining dragons to claw at him from behind, and Lapides sword to pierce him in the abdomen. He tries calling his Demon Face Stone disc to block a rubble dragon attack... that pushes the stone disc, crushing its owner underneath! Not that it kept Collector down ...
- After the stone disc vanishes leaving the Collector's blooded and crumbled body behind, Altamir and Abel get close to check on him, and find... there are no wounds despite all the blood splattered!! Suddenly, Collector awakens, having used his Amrita:
Collector: “I was wondering how far you would go, but you really surprised me. I’ve died once, you know.”
- Abel facing off against Dafne and the Doom tribe's search party, after being told what they'll do with Mea once they capture her, gives them an epic "The Reason You Suck" Speech, even after Dafne's threatening to destroy the village:Abel: “You harassed her and kicked her out, and now you want to kill her because you think it’s wrong not to. No matter how much you say it’s necessary, with your superior attitude and calling Mea a red stone, it shows your true colors.”
- Then follows it with an awe-inspiring Declaration of Protection for Mea, even raising his wand against the clearly armed, hostile group of strong warriors. Even Dafne was touched by it:
Abel: “If you really think you’re going to convince me, then I’ll destroy all of your sh*tty tribe together. I’m not going to call myself a representative of the tribe, even though you’re babbling about the Marren tribe. I’ll fight as one of Mea’s friends.”
Dafne paused for a moment, then his mouth drops slightly.
Dafne: “You have found a good friend, Mea. That is the only thing that can save you.”
- Abel's Shut Up, Hannibal! speech to Shame's Hannibal Lecture, who just watched him getting smacked and tossed around like a ragdoll by Moebius possessing Mea's body. Losing the Babylon 8000 Ortem and getting hurt all over isn't going to convince him to accept Shame's obviously false promises, and instead continue fighting:Abel: “Stop kidding me! I know that your words are just a convenient lie to discourage me from resisting! Are you pitying me? Do you think you’re being nice? I’m not going to let your falsehoods keep me waiting for a fruitless dream! I’ll bring Mea back, and I’ll make you disappear! And if that doesn’t happen, I’m going to disperse gracefully right here!”
