ARE WE ALL READY!?

  • Adaptational Badass: The three in their respective mods aren't usually shown with their abilities being used in battle. However, their battle in "Intermission" showcases the abilities they have in their disposal and how they can utilize them in fighting the corrupted opponents endangering them.
    • Sunday's loud guitar is so strong that it can irritate her corrupted enemies and force them into holding onto their heads, just so the noise being produced from her guitar is reduced.
    • Despite Carol's lack of angel powers, her golfing skills are used to throw golf balls at Evil Girlfriend during "Intermission".
    • Kapi never really had any sort of special abilities from his respective mod, as he mainly just dances on a dance pad. Here, Kapi can create Razor Winds just by slashing his claws.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Their battle against Evil Girlfriend in "Intermission" takes place during the time where Ruv is given the most focus in his mission to rescue Sarvente. For Kapi, Carol, and Sunday, their focus song in Ruv's week have them be fighting Evil Girlfriend in order to survive the Corruption, after their hideout was discovered by Evil Pico.
  • Battle in the Rain: As they all rap battle Evil Girlfriend in "Intermission", the background of their battlefield begins to rain in the second half of the song. Coincidentally, the rain is also taking place at the same time where Ruv is running towards Sarvente's church or is either currently battling her.
  • Bloodier and Gorier: Though the group appears to be largely uncorrupted, they have small tints of red Corruption on their body, when compared to their original counterparts, the Corruption hasn't tainted their bodies in any way.
  • Dwindling Party: Ruv was once a part of their group when they were first introduced in Week 2, but after Ruv's defeat from the Corruption in "Rebellion", their party has shrunk to three members.
  • Gender-Equal Ensemble: The whole group used to consist of Ruv and Kapi as the males, while Sunday and Carol act as the females of the team. However, because of Ruv falling into the Corruption in "Rebellion", the cast of main characters are now Two Girls and a Guy.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: A heroic example. Despite not being playable characters in "Intermission", their teamwork together is able to overpower Evil Girlfriend's Corruption and force her to be teleported out of the fight.
  • Immediate Sequel: After Carol's phone is destroyed, leading to Ruv's communication being cut off with Sunday, a cutscene immediately happens that shows the aftermath of what the main characters are doing afterwards. With Sunday being unable to call Ruv, she, Carol, and Kapi are soon confronted by Evil Girlfriend at their base. The confrontation soon leads to "Intermission", a fight where the main characters fight against Evil Girlfriend for survival.
  • Second Episode Introduction: The main protagonist, including Ruv, are all introduced in the second Week of Corrruption Expanded. After Sarvente's Corruption in Week 1, the entire group and Ruv are all introduced within their hideout and act as the main protagonists of the mod.
  • Stunned Silence: All of them are stunned from watching Evil Girlfriend suddenly disappear by the end of "Intermission" and are just confused as to what they had just witnessed.
  • Two Girls and a Guy: At first, there were two guys and two girls in the team, when Ruv was still with them. However, once Ruv fell in battle during the end of "Rebellion", there is only Kapi as the one guy, and Carol and Sunday as the two girls.
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: While they all fight Evil Girlfriend, the battlefield starts to rain, which also takes place at the same time where Ruv is either battling Evil Pico in "Presledovanila" or "Rebellion" in the beginning.

    Sunday

Voiced by: 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙞 ("Blasphemy"), S3UN10 ("Presledovanila"), ෆ ; ʙʟᴜᴇ ᴘᴜᴍᴘᴋɪɴ ''# 0279 ("Intermission")

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sunday_corruption_expanded_video_picture_normal.png
Sunday is one of the main protagonist of Corruption Expanded. She is first introduced by bring supplies to the rest of her allies inside their base. Until Evil Pico threatens Ruv, Sunday takes action by being Ruv's backup supporter in "Presledovanila" through communication on Carol's phone. When her connection with Ruv is cut off, Sunday and the rest of her allies move on from their base to deal with Evil Girlfriend, who has spotted them all.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: If paused during the moment where the phone she uses to communicate with Ruv is destroyed by Evil Pico in "Presledovanila", Sunday is shown to be stunned from her communication being cut short.
  • In the End, You Are on Your Own: After her connection with Ruv is destroyed by Evil Pico destroying Carol's phone, Sunday laments her inability to continue assisting Ruv. No longer being able to support Ruv, Sunday hopes that Ruv is at least able to defend himself in his goal to reach Sarvente's church.
  • Jitter Cam: Whenever Sunday is intensely playing her guitar towards her corrupted enemies, the noise she produces are so strong that it creates a shaking effect on the camera.
  • No Challenge Equals No Satisfaction: The entire reason as to why her entire fight against the alternate Evil Pico in "Blood Moon" is suddenly interrupted is because a fail screen appeared in her face. The moment Sunday beats Evil Pico, the fail screen makes its appearance to say how easy the foreign universe is, meaning that Sunday doesn't really need to stay in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption to fight the undead Tankmen army.
  • No Ending: Played for Laughs. After she defeats Evil Pico in "Blood Moon", her entire journey and potential battle with the undead Tankmen horde are cut short, because of a fail screen appearing in her face. Due to the fail screen, Sunday has to take a different choice to continue her journey, since battle Evil Pico is too easy for her.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Played for Laughs. Sunday beats an alternate version of Evil Pico in a cover of "Blood Moon", but her victory doesn't last for long, because a fail screen appears on her face by the end of the battle. Due to Evil Pico being too easy to beat, Sunday never gets to explore the Friday Night Funkin': Corruption universe.
  • Shout-Out: For the "Blood Moon" cover, a cutscene of Sunday has her be given two choices that look similar the to choices Henry Stickmin is granted from his home series. In the aftermath of "Blood Moon", Sunday receives a fail screen that resembles the same fail screen of the Henry Stickmin game, "Completing the Mission".
  • Stunned Silence: A Freeze-Frame Bonus shows Sunday acting briefly shocked and stunned from Carol's phone being blasted off by Evil Pico's bullet. The sudden interruption to Sunday's intense rocking causes her to get spooked, before disappearing in "Presledovanila".

    Kapi

Being here locked up doing nothing is boring...
Kapi is one of the main protagonist of Corruption Expanded. After the fall of Sarvente into the Corruption, Kapi sits with Ruv inside their base waiting for Sunday and Carol to bring out supplies. Once Ruv leaves the base to go find Sarvente, Kapi becomes saddened for being unable to say something before his departure. Sadly, for Kapi, he doesn't get to lament on the past for long, as he and his remaining group members are confronted by Evil Girlfriend in "Intermission".
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Upon seeing Evil Girlfriend's corrupted state, Kapi admits that she still beautiful even when corrupted and admits she doesn't look too bad for his own taste. It takes Sunday warning him to not lose track of their survival, and even then, Kapi is briefly shy on looking at Evil Girlfriend's prettiness.
  • Never Got to Say Goodbye: After Ruv left him and the rest of the group in search of Sarvente at her church, Kapi is saddened by the fact that he never got to tell Ruv something important before the latter left the group.
  • Razor Wind: Kapi can slash his arms to create slashes of winds that can travel across the battlefield and hurt his opponents.
  • Token Non-Human: After Ruv's fall into the Corruption, Kapi serves as the Token Non-Human main character to Sunday and Carol. While it could be debated that Carol is angel, her angel form is never shown, making Kapi the unambiguous cat person.

    Carol

Voiced by: Koyo ("Blasphemy"), Simp de Saxe # 3658 ("Intermission")

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carol_corruption_expanded_video_picture_normal_8.png
Carol is one of the main protagonist of Corruption Expanded. She makes her first appearance by working along with Sunday in bring supplies to their secret base with Ruv and Kapi. When Ruv gets called to rescue Sarvente at her church, Carol's cell phone plays a role in giving Sunday a way to communicate with Ruv, during the latter's battle against Evil Pico in "Presledovanila". After Ruv's departure, Carol is met by Evil Girlfriend and is put in a position where she has to fight her own friend in "Intermission".
  • Fighting Your Friend: Carol and Girlfriend were once friends before the Corruption had separated them, but when viewing Girlfriend in her corrupted state, Carol works with Sunday and Kapi in defeating her during "Intermission".

    Sarvente

Well, I don't think them can answer me, but seriously, I will try to help them and make them overcome those anomalies that them have inside, I know that you are still alive... please guys be strong...
"You made it, You're finally here Ruv... But it's too late... You turned your back to me... and now... Now you're going to pay for it!
Evil Sarvente's mocking Ruv for returning to her in "Rebellion".
The first victim to be encountered by the Corruption is Sarvente hiding inside of her church. When the Corruption began, Ruv had taken his time to help the survivors that are enduring the apocalypse. Meanwhile for Sarvente, she had accidentally driven him away because of throwing a tantrum and regrets her poor treatment towards him. Suddenly inside the church, Sarvente is met by Evil Skid and Pump barging past the church's barriers, so they could corrupt her. It soon leads to Sarvente rap battling Evil Skid and Pump in an effort to save them from the Corruption.
  • Adaptational Nice Girl: Sarvente used to a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing for taking many desperate measures to forcefully make Boyfriend and Girlfriend join her church, despite them only wanting to go to a bathroom. In here, Sarvente's confrontation with Evil Skid and Pump is to focus on uncorrupting them, believing the duo to be innocent kids trapped under the Corruption.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Her demon form from the original mod used to be able to power her up in her fight with Boyfriend. However, in Corruption Expanded, Sarvente's demon form is nerfed because of the Corruption affecting how her body is working. When Sarvente fights Evil Skid and Pump in "Daemonophobia", she has a much harder time surviving if only she had never transformed.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Upon realizing that she lacks the strength to uncorrupt Skid and Pump from their Corruption, she resorts to having to kill them in her demon form. Before preparing to fight them again in "Daemonophobia", she apologizes over having to murder them and begs God for forgiveness on what she has to do.
  • Anger Born of Worry: Deconstructed. Sarvente had once lashed out on Ruv for helping out the survivors during the apocalypse of the Corruption. Ruv taking much of his time to help other people results in Sarvente getting stressed out for his safety and eventually throwing a tantrum on him. By lashing out on Ruv, Sarvente blames herself for straining their relationship and she is left all alone inside her church, being unable to call for Ruv.
  • Cellphones Are Useless: She has made many attempts to call Ruv through her cellphone, but they all fail to reach a communication to him. The only way Sarvente is able to send out a distress signal to him is by transforming into her demon form to create a magical message.
  • Clipped-Wing Angel: She transforms into her demon form, believing that she will have the power to kill Evil Skid and Pump for threatening her. Yet when using the form, Sarvente realizes that the Corruption on her body is only getting much worse. Left with no other options, Sarvente has to fight Evil Skid and Pump in her weakened state.
  • Coup de Grâce: Evil Sarvente delivers the final blow to corrupt Ruv by first taunting him, before charging towards him at full speed. Afterwards, Ruv is given a Feet-First Introduction, before letting out a loud scream to end "Rebellion".
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: She is at first even and can rap battle both Evil Skid and Pump in "Daemonophobia", but suddenly, an entire army of corrupted victims come barging into the rap battle. With Evil Pico, Evil Mommy Mearest, and Evil Daddy Dearest's arrival, Sarvente quickly starts to get worried over her survival. Once the extra opponents leave, and Evil Skid and Pump return, Sarvente is far too weakened to properly fight the two.
  • Damsel in Distress: She is put into danger by being left all alone inside of her church and has to fight both Evil Skid and Pump on her own. With the battle against them putting a strain on her body, she gives Ruv a distress signal and hopes to be rescued by him, before falling in battle. The distress signal Sarvente had sent to Ruv eventually reaches him in three days, which kickstarts the second week for Mid-Fight Masses.
  • Dead All Along: By the time Week 2 of Mid-Fight Masses begins, Sarvente was already corrupted by an entire horde of corrupted victims rap battling her in "Daemonophobia". Once Ruv finds her at her church, Sarvente reveals herself to Ruv in her corrupted state, making Ruv realize that she had been gone all along.
  • Death by Adaptation: Sarvente never really dies in Mid-Fight Masses since she is only rap battling Boyfriend and her fate remains unknown, due to the mod having No Ending. For Corruption Expanded, she ends up dying as her fate, because of falling into the Corruption that Evil Skid and Pump had brought to her.
  • Death Cry Echo: The final sounds Sarvente creates before losing to Evil Skid and Pump is to let out a long note that sounds distorted.
  • Deadly Euphemism: After failing to uncorrupt Skid and Pump in "Despair", Sarvente is left with no choice but to have them killed. Her way of phrasing their deaths is that Evil Skid and Pump will be having to "sacrifice" them.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Her "left", "down", and "up" animations in her corrupted form have her eyes be always closed when she sings against Ruv in "Rebellion".
  • Friend to All Children: When it comes to communicating with Skid and Pump, she shows a soft spot to them and actively works towards uncorrupting them. While uncorrupting them, Sarvente assures them that the situation can be handled and that they don't have to be afraid. It is only when they get re-corrupted again is when Sarvente really transforms and apologizes over having to kill them both.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: The more corrupted Sarvente is in her demon form, glowing eyes of her corrupted form begin to show in her losing icon. Once she becomes fully corrupted, her return in "Rebellion" grants her eyes to be always glowing.
  • Hope Spot:
    • In "Despair", she succeeds in having Skid's eye be partially uncorrupted and even gets Pump's eye to be uncorrupted also. Unfortunately for Sarvente, her luck quickly runs out, as Skid and Pump's Corruption end up taking them over fully by the end of the song. Sarvente being too injured to save them, she is left with no choice but to kill them.
    • Although weakened by her true form in "Daemonophobia", Sarvente at hopes that she can still stand a chance on beating Evil Skid and Pump in their final battle. However, while Sarvente could probably beat Evil Skid and Pump in the fight, a horde of corrupted victims come into the church to personally battle Sarvente. By having to battle the extra corrupted victims, Sarvente becomes far too weak to continue rap battling Evil Skid and Pump, which leads into her Corruption.
  • Internal Reveal: To the viewers, they are aware that Sarvente loses to Evil Skid and Pump in "Daemonophobia" and that she had fallen to the Corruption by the end of the song. By the time Ruv receives her distress signal in his week, he was already too late to save her since she was already corrupted in her church. By the time Ruv reaches her church, he is only met with the unfortunate truth that she had already lost to the Corruption. While it briefly shocks Ruv from seeing her corrupted form, he nevertheless works hard to uncorrupt her.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Due to the controversy of the creators from Mid-Fight Masses, and how they don't want the characters from that game from being used, this acted as a factor for Vixtin to write a situation where Sarvente loses to Evil Skid and Pump. After Sarvente's Corruption, there wouldn't be any worries over needing to use her again.
  • Reveal Shot: As she flies down to the battlefield of Ruv and Evil Pico in "Rebellion", Sarvente's body is covered as a sinister silhouette, before being revealed to have been completely corruption. The moment Ruv sees her, he is temporarily shocked as to her Corruption, before focusing himself to rap even harder, so she could be saved.
  • Sinister Silhouettes: In her reintroduction during "Rebellion", she flies down onto the battlefield of Ruv and Evil Pico, while her body is overshadowed by a silhouette. Once Evil Sarvente lands onto the ground, she reveals herself to have been corrupted, causing Ruv to be briefly shocked as to what he is witnessing.
  • Snipe Hunt: She does this unintentionally by sending Ruv her distress signal. Right after sending a distress signal to him, Sarvente does her best to battle Evil Skid and Pump in "Daemonophobia", but ultimately loses to them and the army of corrupt victims that barged inside her church. Despite Sarvente getting corrupted, her distress signal reaches Ruv and it prompts him to go on a search hunt for her, while not being aware that she is already gone.
  • Suddenly Voiced: For Week 1 of this mod, Sarvente means of communication is through a dialog box, but she suddenly starts speaking to Ruv in "Rebellion". As the song nears its end, Evil Sarvente calls out on Ruv for supposedly "turning his back on her", before charging at him and infecting him fully with the Corruption.
  • Violence Really Is the Answer: Initially in her confrontation with Evil Skid and Pump, Sarvente focuses most of her effort on uncorrupting the duo, believing them to be innocent children being controlled by the Corruption. Despite her best efforts, Sarvente could barely save them and they both end up being fully corrupted again by the end of "Despair". Left with no other choice, Sarvente chooses to transform into her demon form to kill them for her own safety and as a last resort.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: When confronting Evil Skid and Pump, Sarvente's first course of action is to focus on freeing them from the Corruption. Sarvente does her best to calm down Skid from panicking, while she uncorrupts him, and when the Spooky Kids end up getting fully corrupted again by the end of "Despair", Sarvente is remorseful over having to kill them to save herself.
  • Zerg Rush: Evil Pico, Evil Mommy Mearest, and Evil Daddy Dearest hijacking Sarvente's battle with Evil Skid and Pump is what causes her to fall into the Corruption. The reinforcements Evil Skid and Pump received had resulted in Sarvente becoming so corrupted that she isn't able to defend herself anymore.

Sarv... ...no...
"hahaha... Do not make me laugh... So get ready at once! Because this time! I will not have pity on you!"
—Ruv's Pre-Asskicking One-Liner and last words before starting "Rebellion".
Ruv is a loyal follower of Sarvente and joined Kapi, Sunday, and Carol in the midst of the Corruption apocalypse. While alongside with his surviving allies, Ruv worries of Sarvente's fate on her church. Suddenly as he reminisces over Sarvente, Ruv receives a distress signal from her, prompting him to leave his allies and go onto a rescue mission to save her before it is too late. During Ruv's run to save her, he is frequently getting sidetracked by Evil Pico chasing him down.
  • Adaptational Badass: Exaggerated. In his appearance from Mid-Fight Masses, Ruv was a bodyguard that was weaker than Sarvente, but still protects her because of his promise. When Ruv fights Boyfriend in "Zavodila", the former can prove difficult because of his double notes, but he somewhat slow at singing when compared to the version of Ruv in Corruption Expanded. In this mod, Ruv proves himself to be far stronger than his original counterpart, as he is able to rap both Sarvente and Evil Pico at the same time and is evenly matched against them in "Rebellion". Even when Ruv is ganged up by Evil Mommy Mearest and her Henchmen, he still manages to force himself to continue fighting for a couple of minutes in a final attempt to kill Pico.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Ruv from Mid-Fight Masses was aggressive when dealing with Boyfriend, since he wanted to break Boyfriend's legs all because the latter refused to join Sarvente's church and just wanted to go use the bathroom. In Corruption Expanded, Ruv gets along with Kapi, Sunday, and Carol in their time together to survive the Corruption. When Ruv chooses to leave them in his mission to save Sarvente, he wishes not to endanger themselves. In Ruv's first and second fight with Evil Pico, he at least warns him of the consequences for getting in the way, before choosing to have Evil Pico killed in "Rebellion".
  • Adaptational Protagonist: In the mod he originated from, Ruv only had one song to confront Boyfriend, and the song being "Zavodila". Following Ruv's defeat from Boyfriend, the former sits out and lets Sarvente deal with the situation in her demon form. For the Corruption Expanded version of Ruv, he gets to have a full week of original songs that tell his adventures to save Sarvente at her church. The songs in which Ruv sings in particular are longer and harder than "Zavodila", characterizing his desperate attempts to fight the Corruption.
  • A Death in the Limelight: Unlike "Blasphemy" and "Presledovania", "Rebellion" is the longest song Ruv has ever sung in his week. "Rebellion" lasts for 8 whole minutes and it serves as the last song that details the entire last moments of Ruvyzvat. In the song, Ruv takes his time to work towards uncorrupting Sarvente from her Corruption, until he is ambushed in the back by Evil Mommy Mearest. As Ruv slowly loses his mind, he recollects himself to fight a bit longer in order to kill Evil Pico. Sadly, for Ruv, his efforts amount to nothing and he loses his life in the song that gave him the most focus.
  • All for Nothing: His entire journey to save Sarvente at her church ends up being a complete waste for Ruv, as it only got him corrupted in the end with nothing having been accomplished from the adventure. Even when Ruv makes a Heroic Resolve for his final attempt to kill Pico, Ruv still loses in the end and Evil Pico has gotten far stronger than before, because of Ruv occasionally deactivating him.
  • The Aloner: As his mind is driven insane and his body is being rapidly corrupted by the huge number of corrupted enemies outnumbering him in "Rebellion", Ruv's reinforcements, Carl and Joe, ditch him in his most desperate moments. When Ruv forces himself to continue fighting for a couple of minutes in his final attempt to kill Pico, Ruv has to do it all on his own.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: Before leaving Kapi, Sunday, and Carol in their base, so he could reach Sarvente at her church as fast as possible, his group insist that they come with him in the journey. However, Ruv wishes to rush into Sarvente's church as quick as he can, so he orders his allies to just rest in their hideout. Later when Ruv arrives onto Sarvente's church on his own, it turns out that Sarvente had already been corrupted and he just led himself into a zone where he is vulnerable. With a lack of allies to support him in his final battle against Evil Sarvente and Evil Pico, Ruv is eventually overpowered by the Corruption, once Evil Mommy Mearest takes action.
  • Badass Boast: Before the start of "Rebellion", Ruv warns Evil Pico to be ready in their final fight since he will no longer be bothered to pity him
  • Battle in the Rain: Ruv's battle against the Corruption takes place in the rain during "Presledovanila" and "Rebellion".
    • The moment Evil Mommy Mearest reveals herself in "Presledovanila", the battlefield starts to rain and Ruv's Corruption on his body worsens.
    • The first half of "Rebellion" has the battlefield be raining and it stops raining once Ruv is losing his mind from the constant switching of Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Sarvente.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Ruv's entire journey throughout Week 2 is to find Sarvente at her church and he gets his wish granted by Evil Pico upon reaching the destination. Once Ruv reaches the church, Evil Pico taunts him over wanting to see Sarvente and then shows Ruv that Sarvente was already corrupted.
  • Big Heroic Run: To reach Sarvente's church, Ruv is always running throughout the entirety of "Presledovanila" and only briefly stops his run when Evil Pico too much of a problem for him. At the start of "Rebellion", Ruv temporarily battles Evil Pico before starting his Big Heroic Run again to reach Sarvente's church. Upon reaching the church, Ruv stops running and prepares himself to rap battle both Evil Sarvente and Evil Pico.
  • Blank Stare: Ruv hearing Carol's phone causes him to stare blankly from the Embarrassing Ringtone and even agrees with Evil Pico on how weird it sounds.
  • Can Only Move the Eyes: When his body is nearly fully corrupted by the Corruption in the second half of "Rebellion", Ruv loses the ability to stand and can only kneel down to resume fighting the large numbers of corrupted victims.
  • Chase Fight: When Ruv does his Big Heroic Run, he is also fighting against Evil Pico chasing him down in a limousine in "Presledovanila". Their chase continues in the beginning of "Rebellion", before it finally ends at Ruv reaching Sarvente's church.
  • Combat and Support: "Presledovanila" and "Rebellion" both grant Ruv supporting allies to assist him in combatting the corrupted opponents getting in his way of reaching Sarvente's church.
    • "Presledovanila" has Sunday be Ruv's supporting ally through communications with her on a phone. Sunday supports Ruv's battle against Evil Pico by using her rocking skills to irritate Evil Pico. With the help of Sunday, Ruv's Corruption is minimalized in the first half of the battle. When Evil Pico destroys the phone, the only means of communication for Sunday, Ruv's Corruption quickly becomes worse, forcing him to stop running and to temporarily confront Pico in a direct fight.
    • With Sunday no longer being able to support him, Ruv luckily gets Carl and Joe as his new helpers in his against Evil Pico during "Rebellion". Unfortunately for Ruv, Carl and Joe's help doesn't really turn the tides of battle for him, since Evil Mommy Mearest arrival completely drives Ruv's insane. Carl and Joe seeing Ruv struggling to keep up with the Corruption, it forces them to ditch Ruv in his fight against the large number of corrupted victims.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: His fight with Evil Sarvente and Evil Pico quickly becomes too much for him to handle once Evil Mommy Mearest makes her appearance to rap battle him in the back. Ruv needing to always turn his head around from the switching singers eventually results in him going insane over the disorientation. In Ruv's disoriented statem he isn't really able to do much to the Corruption and is put down onto his knees.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Despite being given a Curb-Stomp Battle by Evil Mommy Mearest joining the rap battle, Ruv's Heroic Resolve from Pico's request to be killed is what motivates him to fight a little longer. When Ruv pushes himself in his wounded state, it is clear that he is being overpowered by the massive numbers of corrupted victims, but he at least released a powerful Spam Attack before truly falling in battle.
  • Death by Adaptation: In Mid-Fight Masses, Ruv only loses to Boyfriend and isn't really harmed in the process. However, in Corruption Expanded, Ruv is put in danger on the adventure to reach Sarvente's church. Ruv's arrival on the church ends up spelling his death, due to so many corrupted opponents cornering him from ever having a chance to fight back.
  • Death Cry Echo: Ruv's final sounds before he is fully corrupted by his opponents is to let out two long notes that howl, but do nothing to regenerate his health. After falling in battle from the Corruption, Ruv lets out a loud scream that echoes and blows the hair of both Evil Sarvente and Evil Mommy Mearest.
  • Decoy Protagonist: Out of all his surviving allies, Ruv gets to be the first character to have his own week dedicated to saving Sarvente. Much of the focused is used on him fighting against Evil Pico's attempts to slow him down and he receives allies in his journey to save Sarvente. However, once Ruv finally reaches Sarvente's church, he ends up being ambushed by Evil Sarvente. Soon afterwards, Ruv is getting a major Zerg Rush from Evil Mommy Mearest and her Henchmen outnumbering him. By the end of "Rebellion", Ruv has fallen in battle and joined the corrupted horde, which leaves Kapi, Sunday, and Carol as the true protagonists of Corruption Expanded.
  • Dented Iron: The entire run he made to Sarvente's church had partially gotten his body infected by the Corruption from having to battle Evil Pico in their chase. Although Ruv has tanked a lot of the Corruption inflicted to him by Evil Pico, so much of the Corruption has accumulated in Ruv's body that he isn't truly prepared to face on Evil Sarvente in their battle. Nevertheless, Ruv still fights at his very best and refuses to give into his Corruption.
  • Devilish Hair Horns: For his corrupt icons in "Presledovanila" and "Rebellion", his hair is formed to look like devilish horns whenever the Corruption starts spreading on his body. The horn-like hairs only become less spikier if Ruv is in his winning icon or if his Corruption is weakening.
  • Dying Alone: As he journeyed to reach Sarvente's church, he once had Sunday, Carl, and Joe to back him up in fighting off the Corruption. However, as Ruv's run continued, he lost communication with Sunday and the two Tankmen soldiers eventually ditched him. With no one left to support him, Ruv is corrupted and the only people beside him were his corrupted enemies.
  • Eye Scream: His losing icon for the second time he had been corrupted in "Presledovanila" shows his eye bleeding from the Corruption. In his weakest state near the end of "Rebellion", his eye is transformed into a corrupted version of itself if he is losing to the horde of corrupted victims.
  • Feet-First Introduction: Right after he had fallen into the Corruption, the camera introduces Ruv by focusing on his legs, it moves up to more of his corrupted body. As the camera rises up, Evil Ruv lets out a loud scream that shuts off the camera and then has the credits roll.
  • Gotta Get Your Head Together: Ruv starts to hold onto his eyepatch during his confused state in "Rebellion", because of Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Sarvente disorienting him with their singing. Ruv then holds onto his head for the remainder of "Rebellion", after no longer being able to stand up.
  • Hat Damage: His hat gets partially corrupted in "Blasphemy" for having lost to Evil Pico. In a cutscene for "Presledovanila", Ruv's hat is shot off by Evil Pico refusing to yield his warnings.
  • Heroic RRoD: The Corruption that had been inflicted upon him eventually becomes too much for Ruv when Evil Mommy Mearest sings from his back. The large forces of corrupted victims send Ruv into a state of confusion, preventing him from being able to fight back properly. In the end, Ruv is put into a temporary state where he loses the will to sing, until Pico briefly breaks out of his Corruption to beg for death. Motivated by Pico's words, Ruv pushes himself to rap for a few more minutes to kill him. Before he ultimately losing to the Corruption, Ruv manages to release a powerful Spam Attack.
  • Heroic Second Wind: After getting overwhelmed by Evil Mommy Mearest and her Henchmen joining the rap battle to drive him into a state of confusion, it seems as though Ruv has given up in fighting back. Suddenly, Pico is temporarily broken out of his Corruption to beg for Ruv to kill him. Hearing Pico's words, Ruv is given a second heroic wind that allows him to fight for a couple of minutes in his weakest state.
  • Heroic Willpower: No matter how much the Corruption had infected Ruv's body, he is willing to keep fighting at his very best, just so he could have the chance to save Sarvente. While he does get temporarily disoriented from the large numbers of corrupted victims that ganged up on him in "Rebellion", he is able to hold himself together for a couple of minutes in a final attempt to kill Evil Pico, before finally running out of energy.
  • Hold the Line: His entire rap battle against Evil Pico in "Blasphemy" focuses on defending Sunday, Carol, and Kapi from the Corruption spotting their base.
  • Hope Spot: Ruv gains lots of opportunities that give the illusion of him being able to beat his corrupted opponents but loses in the end from unfortunate circumstances.
    • Despite finding out that Sarvente had been corrupted all along, Ruv refuses to give up and works harder than ever to uncorrupted her. Even when Evil Pico becomes stronger and teams with Sarvente to face down Ruv, the latter is evenly matched against them. Sadly, for Ruv, his luck to beat them quickly runs out when Evil Mommy Mearest and her Henchmen join in the battle to Zerg Rush him.
    • Even after getting overwhelmed by Evil Mommy Mearest and her forces, Ruv refuses to go down because of Pico briefly breaking out of his Corruption and requesting to be killed. Ruv, at his weakest state is fighting at his hardest and doing his best to rap for a couple of minutes to have Evil Pico killed. Yet once Ruv unleashes his Special Attack, he still loses in the end and fails to fulfill Pico's request.
  • I'll Kill You!: Being too tired to run any longer from having to face off both Evil Pico and Evil Mommy Mearest in "Presledovanila", Ruv thinks to himself of his plans to kill Evil Pico in their final battle for "Rebellion".
  • Immune to Bullets: Downplayed. Ruv isn't exactly immune to bullets since they can hurt him, but he is able to tank them, no matter how many times Evil Pico shoots him.
  • Impairment Shot: The arrival of Evil Mommy Mearest ambushing him in his back, Ruv is forced to focus on having to turn around to simultaneously battle her, Evil Sarvente, and Evil Pico. Eventually, Ruv is quickly overwhelmed from the rapid switching of Evil Sarvente and Evil Mommy Mearest singing one at a time.
  • Jitter Cam: The entire camera for "Rebellion" shakes wildly from Ruv screaming loudly as his last moments in the aftermath of his Corruption.
  • Knee Fold Fall of Defeat: As Pico talks to Ruv about wishing for death to come, Ruv is slowly kneeling from the Corruptipn limiting his control over his own body parts. Eventually when Ruv resumes rapping in his Heroic Second Wind, he can only knees down as his only means to move.
  • Last Ditch Move: Upon being pushed to his breaking point in "Rebellion", Ruv releases a long barrage of notes towards his corrupted opponents to act as his final opportunity to heal himself and kill Evil Pico.
  • Last Stand: Once Ruv regains his focus from Pico begging to be killed, Ruv resumes his fight the Corruption army that had once overwhelmed him. Although it is clear that survival is impossible at this point in "Rebellion", Ruv is desperately going all out to kill Evil Pico before succumbing to the Corruption.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: Once Ruv hears a distress signal from Sarvente, it prompts him to go look for her in her church, but before going, Carol insists that Sunday and Carol assist him in his journey. Ruv believing that he should instead rush into Sarvente's church and that the rest of the group take a rest, he goes alone in his run to the church. Ruv's choice to go alone ends up being a horrible choice in the long run, as he gets overrun by too many corrupted opponents when he finally reaches Sarvente's church.
  • Little "No": When "Daemonophobia" ends, Ruv lets out a little no from Sarvente losing to Evil Skid and Pump. For the cutscene of "Blasphemy", Ruv lets out a little no from the distress signal of Sarvente finally reaching him.
  • Made of Iron: In the course of three song, Ruv proves himself to be great at resisting the Corruption on his body and be able to fight back effectively at the same time. Even when the Corruption had taken hold of almost his entire body in "Rebellion", Ruv can rap at his absolute best with no signs of slowing down, until the Corruption had truly consumed him.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Each time Ruv is in his winning icon, he can relax himself or suppress the Corruption that had heavily infected in "Rebellion". Even when he is forced to kneel down on his knees to continue fighting, Ruv's winning icon has him relaxed, despite the fact that half of his face is almost fully corrupted.
  • Marathon Level: "Rebellion" ends up being the longest song that Ruv has ever sung, with the song lasting 8 minutes to serve as the finale of his week. The song first starts off with him singing against Evil Pico, before proceeding to run away from their battle to reach Sarvente's church. Upon reaching the destination, Ruv's battle only gets more intense with Evil Sarvente revealing herself to rap battle him. To make the situation even worse, Ruv is eventually confronted by Evil Mommy Mearest and is nearly driven insane from the huge forces of corrupted victims. At first, it appears as though "Rebellion" is over, until Ruv is motivated to resume fighting the Corruption for a couple of minutes from Pico requesting to be killed.
  • Mickey Mousing: As he slowly kneels down from the Corruption heavily taxing his body, the beats of "Rebellion" drop in sync.
  • No Indoor Voice: Whenever he sings against his corrupted foes, Ruv's volume is always at its maximum noise so would be able to fight back at his very best.
  • Not Worth Killing: Ruv refuses to kill Evil Pico in the cutscene of "Presledovanila", due to viewing him as a waste of time for the journey to find Sarvente at her church. What Ruv does instead is that he runs away from Evil Pico's confrontation and just focuses on running towards Sarvente's church. However, Evil Pico refuses to be left behind and hops onto a limousine to chase him down.
  • Oh, Crap!: Upon finally arriving at the church, he is met with the unfortunate truth of Sarvente having already been corrupted. Seeing Sarvente in her corrupted state, Ruv is briefly shocked as to what he had to witness but continues to fight forward to save her.
  • One-Man Army: Ruv's determination and power is so great that he manages to fight Evil Pico in the first two songs and isn't heavily corrupted in their match. Even when Evil Sarvente teams up with Evil Pico, Ruv is still evenly matched in the fight and is actually able to partially uncorrupt Sarvente. Although Ruv is eventually overwhelmed by the arrival of Evil Mommy Mearest and her Henchmen, the battle is mainly a Curm Stomp Cushion for Ruv when he gets motivated by Pico's words of wanting to die. Before Ruv ultimately falls in battle, he manages to launch out a long Spam Attack as his last chance to kill Evil Pico.
  • Perpetual Smiler: Played for Horror. Ruv gains himself a forced smile that is always on his face when Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Sarvente sing so fast that he can't keep up. The forced smile clearly indicates his inability to focus on the battle and his mind quickly being confused from the intense singing.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Inverted. The more that Ruv is corrupted, the more that his hair is being affected by the Corruption. Once his hair is turned fully black by the Corruption, pink tints start to appear on the pointed edge of the hair. The small drop of pink is where the Corruption is at its strongest and it only goes away if Ruv is on his winning icon during his wounded state in "Rebellion".
  • Prepare to Die: In the cutscene before "Rebellion", Ruv warns Evil Pico to get himself ready for their final fight, because this time there won't be any pity for him.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: A major reason as to why Ruv was destined to lose in his week is because of the controversy surrounding the creators and characters of Mid-Fight Masses. With the creators of Mid-Fight Masses banning the characters of Ruv and Sarvente from being used, Vixtin chose to have Ruv in Corruption Expanded to be corrupted by the end of his week, so that Ruv will not be used again.
  • Sanity Slippage: Ruv being pushed to constantly turn his head around from the frequent switching of singers in "Rebellion" has resulted in his body being forced to smile. In his stress state, he can't sing properly against his enemies, and he eventually blacks out from the fight. He luckily regains his sanity and focus back temporarily, when Pico briefly breaks out of his Corruption to beg for death.
  • Slow Transformation: Ruv's body goes through phases on how much of it is being affected by the Corruption.
    • The first time he is infected, which happens in "Blasphemy", is that a part of his hat is infected with the Corruption by Evil Pico.
    • For the second time his body if infected, parts of his head and limbs are infected during his run in "Presledovanila".
    • The Corruption on his body gets worse when "Presledovanila" nears its end, as one of his hands is corrupted and the infection is spreading onto more parts of his body.
    • When he is confronted by Evil Sarvente, parts of Ruv's other hand are being affected by the infected and his eye is starting to turn pink.
    • Upon going insane from Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Sarvente's intense singing, Ruv's hair is almost fully corrupted, and he is holding onto his eye patch just to keep himself together. His face on the other hand is smiling unnaturally, which is something his body is physically unable to do.
    • Soon enough, the Corruption had taken over so much of his body that when he resumes rapping to make a final attempt to kill Evil Pico, Ruv can barely stand and the only parts unaffected by the Corruption is a part of his face and his remaining knee.
    • Once the Corruption fully corrupts his body, his face is transformed into a full-time Slasher Smile and pink tints of the infection are on many parts of his body.
  • Snipe Hunt: As he rest with Kapi, Ruv is suddenly given a distress signal by Sarvente. The distress signal prompts him to go on a hunt to save Sarvente before it is too late. Tragically, Ruv is unaware that Sarvente was already corrupted and he is sending himself to a Death Trap that would only endanger his life. When he finally reaches the end of his search, he only finds Sarvente in her corrupt form, leading to him needing to fight for his and her life.
  • Snowy Screen of Death: As Ruv listens to Pico begging to be killed, a static effect happens at the moment Pico is re-corrupted by his evil self. The static effect continues as Ruv slowly powers himself up with his singing and at the same time, Evil Pico taunts Ruv for thinking that death can save the victims trapped inside the Corruption.
  • Spam Attack: The final strongest attack Ruv unleashes in "Rebellion" is to launch out a long set of tight notes to regain back all of his health and to act as his Last Ditch Move to kill Evil Pico.
  • Speed Echoes: Whenever he starts to rap in a speedy manner during some parts of a song, Ruv creates afterimages of himself that echoes from his intense rapping.
    • When "Blasphemy" really starts to speed up near the end of its song, Ruv and Evil Pico temporarily have their bodies be echoing images of itself.
    • Upon losing his mind in the arrival of Evil Mommy Mearest during "Rebellion", Ruv's body starts to create echo images of itself from his increasing insanity.
    • Ruv's body echoes images one more time in "Rebellion" from releasing a powerful Spam Attack near the end of the song.
  • Stepford Smiler: Played for Horror. Upon getting stressed out from Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Sarvente's rapid singing, Ruv begins to smile in a forced manner. Considering that Ruv's anatomy prevents him from properly smiling, it's clear that he is feeling pain from the Corruption rapidly spreading.
  • Stunned Silence: Ruv hearing the Embarrassing Ringtone that is coming off the phone that Sunday had given him has him be stunned as to how embarrassing it sounds. Evil Pico is also confused and just questions Ruv on how absurd the ringtone sounds.
  • Super-Speed: For the entirety of "Presledovanila" and a portion of "Rebellion", Ruv's running speed is so fast that he can keep up with a moving limousine while singing at the same time.
  • Taking You with Me: Upon listening to Pico's desire to be killed, Ruv gets back up and resumes fighting the horde of corrupted victims that are clearly outnumbering. While it is clear that Ruv won't survive any longer sing "Rebellion", he tries his hardest to make an effort to kill Evil Pico before falling into the Corruption, Sadly for Ruv, his efforts are All for Nothing and he fails to fulfill Pico's request.
  • Tired of Running: Following his long run in "Presledovanila" against Evil Pico and Evil Mommy Mearest chasing him in their limousine, Ruv notes in a cutscene of "Rebellion" that he is too tired to run any longer. Ruv takes a break to rest in one spot in preparation to go all out in his final rap battle against Evil Pico.
  • Trauma Conga Line: Ruv's entire journey to find Sarvente at her church has resulted in his body getting heavily corrupted from the number of times Evil Pico is slowing him down.
    • As Ruv warns Evil Pico to stay away from the hideout of the survivors, Ruv gets his hat partially corrupted and shot off.
    • Ruv gets a portion of his body corrupted in "Presledovanila" and he loses his communication to get backup support from Sunday.
    • When he finally arrives at Sarvente's church, Ruv is only met with more trouble from the reveal that Sarvente was corrupted all along.
    • Forcing himself to rap even harder, Ruv appears to be doing well in uncorrupting Sarvente while at the same time, fighting against Evil Pico in his new transformed state. Tragically for Ruv, his luck to win the final battle ends up being a lost cause, since Evil Mommy Mearest and her Henchmen joining the battle quickly overwhelms him.
    • While being unable to focus on rap battling the sheer number of corrupted victims, Ruv is left all alone because of Carl and Joe ditching him in his Darkest Hour.
    • In a final attempt to kill Pico, due to the latter requesting to die, Ruv fails to fulfill Pico's promise and is corrupted with the adventure being All for Nothing.
  • Undying Loyalty: Ruv's loyalty to have Sarvente be protected at all costs is what results in him leaving Kapi, Sunday, and Carol to go look for Sarvente at her church. Despite the setbacks Evil Pico was always giving him in their songs, Ruv plows forward for every attack Evil Pico has thrown on him, until reaching Sarvente's church. When he finally reaches her church and is met with the revelation that she had been corrupted all along, Ruv refuses to wallow in despair and instead raps even harder to free her from the Corruption.
  • Vampire Refugee: Although half his body was infected by the Corruption Evil Pico had brought him, Ruv is still determined to fight at his best, so that Sarvente is saved when she ends up confronting him in her corrupted form.
  • Victory Fakeout: As he slowly falls too his knees from the confusion that Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Sarvente inflicted upon him by rapidly singing back and forth, it looks as though Ruv had lost in "Rebellion". Suddenly, Pico temporarily breaks out of his Corruption and begs to be killed by Ruv. Hearing Pico's words, Ruv is motivated to resume rapping, so that Evil Pico is killed, despite having no more reinforcements and an entire army of corrupted victims to face.
  • You Are Too Late: When he finally reaches Sarvente's church about halfway in "Rebellion", Ruv expects her to be okay, but is met with the unfortunate truth that she had been corrupted all along. Considering that the Ruv week takes place three days in the aftermath of "Daemonophobia", Ruv had only put himself in grave danger by going into Sarvente's church. While Ruv's heart was briefly broken from seeing Sarvente in her corrupted state, he nevertheless works at his best to uncorrupt her body from the Corruptiom.
  • You Can Barely Stand: The stress of the Corruption rapidly spreading onto his body results in him losing control over his legs. The lack of control forces Ruv to knees down as his only way to continue rapping for Pico to be killed.
  • You Shall Not Pass!: For "Blasphemy", the entire plot of the song revolves around Ruv staying at the hidden base of his surviving allies, so he could defend them from Evil Pico. Ruv confronts Evil Pico in the song and makes repeated warnings to shoo him away from the base.
  • Zerg Rush: What results in his defeat during "Rebellion" is when Evil Mommy Mearest sings behind his back and her Henchmen appear in the background to corner him in the battle. Eventually, Ruv is too overwhelmed by the large forces of corrupted victims and falls in battle by the end of the song.

Joe (left), Carl (right)
During a cutscene before "Rebellion", two Tankmen are seen following Evil Pico and Ruv. As the Tankmen chase them down, Joe comments on their other Tankmen allies for being cowards on helping Ruv and that they are the true highlights that will defend him. For Carl, he misses Captain John and is uncertain as to what happened to him. Nevertheless, both Carl and Joe stay with Ruv in the beginning of "Rebellion" to assist him in battling Evil Pico.
  • Attack! Attack... Retreat! Retreat!: Played for Drama. Carl and Joe both try their best to assist Ruv, even though the latter is being pushed into a corner by the huge corrupted horde outside Sarvente's church. Despite the duo's best efforts, they quickly abandon Ruv once he is driven mad by Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Sarvente.
  • Combat and Support: Joe is the main one of the duo that is actively assisting Ruv in the beginning of "Rebellion" by using his gun to blast over Evil Pico. In his brief appearance when Evil Mommy Mearest ambushes Ruv's back, Joe does his best to shoot the corrupted army slowly overwhelming Ruv.
  • Dramatic Ammo Depletion: Carl and Joe to the best they can to assist Ruv in fighting off Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Sarvente, but the Corruption proves too powerful. Eventually, Carl and Joe's are no longer able to assist Ruv, due to running out of bullets and the latter being too disoriented to continue fighting.
  • Original Character: Both of them are Tankmen soldiers that were introduced in this mod to assist Ruv in his battle with Evil Pico during "Rebellion". Carl acts as the driver of the tank that Joe is on, and Joe himself is the one chasing after Evil Pico, so Ruv is assisted.

Private Skittles, one of the captains that lead the Tankmen into taking charge against fighting back from the Corruption. He is first mentioned in a discussion of Carl and Joe during "Rebellion" and makes his debut in "Last Agony", where Joe reports to him over having failed to assist Ruv in battle.
  • Benevolent Boss: Private Skittles is willing to accept Carl and Joe for attempting to save Ruv and rather lament on the duo's failure, Private Skittles promises to send them reinforcements for support.
  • The Cavalry: Invoked. As a way to respond to Carl and Joe being overrun by the Corruption over their attempts to save Ruv, Private Skittles requests for reinforcements to arrive, while Carl and Joe scout out their area to defend themselves.
  • Eye-Obscuring Hat: His profile picture during his communication with Joe has Private Skittles' eyes be covered up by the shadows created by his hat.
  • Original Character: He exists exclusively in this mod to act as one of the captains for the Tankmen and providing Carl and Joe The Cavalry they need to survive.

    Tabi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tabi_corruption_expanded_video_picture_normal_0.png
It will be better to take my revenge seeing you like this...
Tabi is one of the surviving characters in this mod. He is introduces in Week 3 where in an underground subway station, he is met by Evil Daddy Dearest. Rather than cower in fear of the opponent, Tabi relishes the suffering of Daddy Dearest and promises to kill him as an act of revenge.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Alongside having to deal with the tragedy of being betrayed by Girlfriend and his life ruined in the past by Daddy Dearest, Tabi also has to additionally deal with the Corruption, something his original counterpart never faced.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Downplayed. Tabi wants to get his revenge on Girlfriend and Daddy Dearest, but unlike his original counterpart, Tabi never gets to endanger Boyfriend and Girlfriend at a restaurant. In Tabi's fight against Daddy Dearest, Tabi does not only wish to kill him, but to also survive from the Corruption. Additionally, Tabi is more sympathetic from the fact that he and other surviving characters and doing what they can to protect themselves from the Corruption.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: Tabi is a Tragic Villain who wishes to exact his revenge against the Dearest family, while the Corruption desires to have every character infected. Though Tabi is excited over having the chance to murder Daddy Dearest, despite the latter being corrupted, Tabi is still more heroic than Evil Daddy Dearest.
  • Blade Spam: During a section of "Last Agony", Tabi temporarily charges near Daddy Dearest and unleashes a barrage of knife slashes at him. Unfortunately, Daddy Dearest's Super-Reflexes prove too fast for Tabi to hit him. Eventually, Tabi moves back to continue rapping normally.
  • Cell Phones Are Useless: Being in a subway station, Tabi had made attempts to use his phone to call his boss, but has repeatedly failed, due to no signal for the phone to catch on.
  • Dramatic Spotlight: For all of "Last Agony", a bright spotlight is shining onto Tabi, as if to signify that he is the surviving character facing down Evil Daddy Dearest.
  • Evil Laugh: When he witnesses the corrupted form of Daddy Dearest, Tabi takes the chance to laugh at his face on how his archenemy was so weak that the Corruption got him. Feeling satisfied that one of his main targets had appeared, Tabi is ready to kill Daddy Dearest.
  • Floating Head Syndrome: His brief appearance in the credit sequence of "Rebellion" shows a brief picture of his head, before he fades away for fanart pictures to appear.
  • Interface Screw: During "Last Agony", Tabi quickly dashes towards Daddy Dearest and makes multiple attempts to slash him. Each time Tabi delivers a blade slash, the arrow receptors quickly disappear and reappear, which can make it hard for players to focus on the sceen.
  • Internal Reveal: Before Evil Daddy Dearest had confronted Tabi, the audience is already aware of the former being corrupted, due to his appearance in the prologue and Week 1. When Tabi meets Evil Daddy Dearest, he had expected Daddy Dearest archenemy to survive and seeing him in a corrupted state, Tabi mocks him for being so weak.
  • It's Personal: In the confrontation against Evil Daddy Dearest, Tabi becomes emotionally invested over dealing with him, since Daddy Dearest being corrupted means he can mock him for being weak. Tabi views it as the perfect time to get revenge over what Daddy Dearest had done in the past and for him to suffer in death.
  • Kill the Host Body: Upon finding out Daddy Dearest had lost to the Corruption, Tabi mocks him for being so weak that he could not even endure the infected. Although Daddy Dearest is corrupted, Tabi views it as a great opportunity to kill his archenemy, without holding any regards towards his life.
  • Talking Is a Free Action: At the midst of "Last Agony", the battle comes to a brief stop so Tabi can gloat about being able to finally have his revenge against Daddy Dearest. Meanwhile, Daddy Dearest isn't rapping, as the screen time is focused on Tabi, before the latter stops talking and eventually focuses on stabbing him.
  • Thinking Tic: By being unable to call his boss through a cellphone, Tabi puts his hand onto the jaw of his skull to think about how he can survive in a situation of being alone.
  • Token Evil Teammate: In comparison to all the survivors of Corruption Expanded, Tabi is the most aggressive out of all of them towards dealing the Corruption. While surviving characters only fight the Corruption to defend or to save someone, Tabi uses the Corruption as a way to taunt Daddy Dearest for being a weakling and views it as an opportunity to kill him.
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: His battle against Evil Daddy Dearest takes place in the same time as "Presledovanila" where Ruv is fighting Evil Pico on a road.

Prologue Characters

    Daddy Dearest
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daddy_dearest_corruption_expanded_corrupted.png
Daddy Dearest is the first character in the mod to be confronted by the Corruption. In his battle against them in "Deathmatch", he uses the full extent of his powers to battle out an entire army, until being met by his corrupt wife and daughter. Seeing his corrupted family members, Daddy Dearest loses his powers and is quickly overpowered by the Corruption. Just before getting fully corrupted, he manages to leave a devastating blow to Evil Boyfriend, which kickstarts an alternate set of events where different characters are up against the Corruption.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Daddy Dearest in the original mod lost to the Corruption simply because he couldn't keep himself together from battling his corrupted wife. For the "Deathmatch" remix, Daddy Dearest is confronted by both Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Girlfriend, breaking his heart even further than the original mod. In the end, Daddy Dearest meets the same fate like his original counterpart of being overpowered by the Corruption.
  • Adaptational Badass: Daddy Dearest originally only faced off against Evil Pico, Evil Skid and Pump, and Evil Mommy Mearest as his extra opponents in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption. For Corruption Expanded, since "Deathmatch" is now a much longer song, Daddy Dearest is up against more opponents, with them being Evil Darnell, Evil Tankman, Evil Whitty, and Evil Girlfriend. Even when Daddy Dearest still loses in "Deathmatch", he fights way longer and harder, compared to his original counterpart.
  • Death Cry Echo: The last moments of "Deathmatch" have Daddy Dearest sing a few notes on his own, before his entire body slowly Fades Out. While he is fading away, he lets out a few more beeps that echo his death.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Even at his very best during "Deathmatch", all it takes to beat him is by having to rap battle his family members. Daddy Dearest having the confront Evil Mommy Mearest causes his anger to fade away, allowing the Corruption to infect his body. For Evil Girlfriend's appearance, she causes the Corruption on Daddy Dearest's body to spread and break his heart even further. Once Evil Boyfriend returns to personally rap battle him again, Daddy Dearest is too weak to continue resisting, which results in his Corruption.
  • Dramatic Spotlight: A shining light acts as a spotlight for Evil Daddy Dearest Emerging from the Shadows to intimidate Tabi with his laughter.
  • Emerging from the Shadows: In a cutscene of "Last Agony", Evil Daddy Dearest makes himself known to Tabi by letting out an Evil Laugh. Afterwards, Tabi looks for Daddy Dearest, but only sees an obscured shadow. However, by closely inspecting the shadow, it is revealed to be Daddy Dearest.
  • Evil Laugh: Evil Daddy Dearest's lines in the cutscene of "Last Agony" consists of him only releasing maniacal laughs to intimidate Tabi.
  • Fade Out: As he lets out his last beeps, he slowly starts fading away by the end of "Deathmatch".
  • Feet-First Introduction: In the cutscene before "Last Agony", Evil Daddy Dearest makes himself known to Tabi by the camera showing his feet stepping onto the floor of the subway station.
  • Glowing Eyes: One of his eyes lets out a pink glow as he is Emerging from the Shadows to reveal himself to Tabi.
  • Inspite Of A Nail: No matter how many corrupted enemies are sent to fight him, the outcome of the battle remains that he will not give in to their Corruption. The only way for him to truly lose if his family members are used against him to breaks his will to fight forward in "Deathmatch".
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: While it was a valiant decision for Daddy Dearest to release a powerful blow to knock out Evil Boyfriend by the end of "Deathmatch", it later causes major repercussions with Boyfriend not being able to properly fight the Corruption inside his body. Without Boyfriend in this mod, characters from various other mods are now fending for themselves in a struggle to survive the Corruption.
  • One-Man Army: Just like in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption, Daddy Dearest can take on an entire army of corrupted victims and show no signs of fatigue while doing so. He does so even better, since he sings for a much longer time in "Deathmatch" and is faced with even more corrupted enemies at the stage. Sadly, for him, he still loses the battle because of Evil Mommy Meares and Evil Girlfriend pushing him to cross the Despair Event Horizon.
  • Psycho Pink: At his corrupt state, Daddy Dearest's clothes feature the most prominent amount of pink colors out of all the corrupted victims. His pinkish attire can also contribute as him being the strongest corrupted person the Corruption had claimed.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: At his strongest state, his eyes are flaring red, giving him the power to completely resist all of the Corruption his enemies attempt to inflict on him. It is only when Daddy Dearest is heartbroken from rap battling his family is that his red eyes go away. With no red eyes, Daddy Dearest lacks the will to succumb to the Corruption and is soon enough, defeated by Evil Boyfriend.
  • Super-Reflexes: When faced with Tabi's Blade Spam, Daddy Dearest quickly dodges all of his attacks, before resuming to rapping normally in their battle.
  • Taking You with Me: After being confronted by Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Girlfriend, Daddy Dearest is left vulnerable to the Corruption once Evil Boyfriend returns. As Daddy Dearest's life slowly gets consumed by the Corruption, he makes one last effort to make a difference that changes everything in this mod, which is by wounding Evil Boyfriend in the aftermath of "Deathmatch". Although Daddy Dearest is now a victim of the Corruption, he left an attack so devastating that Evil Boyfriend isn't able to recover himself for a long time.
  • World's Strongest Man: Implied. No other character in Corruption Expanded had ever come close to facing down an entire army of corrupted victims and emerge unscathed in the battle. For Daddy Dearest, he acts as the only exception, since he can fight without slowing down or be feeling the effects of the Corruption if he is at his very best. Sadly, because of Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Girlfriend breaking his heart, Daddy Dearest gives up fighting and is corrupted along with the other victims that have fallen into the Corruption.

    Boyfriend
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/boyfriend_corruption_expanded_video_picture_corrupted.png
Boyfriend is one of the first victims to have been infected by the Corruption and is the main opponent for Daddy Dearest in "Deathmatch". Initially, Evil Boyfriend once acted as the main Villain Protagonist in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption, but after his fight with Daddy Dearest, he has since been Put on a Bus to Hell. The injuries Evil Boyfriend sustained from fighting Daddy Dearest in "Deathmatch" has become far to great for him to properly heal, making it unlikely that he will return.
  • Adapted Out: Boyfriend in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption gets to be freed from the Corruption, since his mind was able to create Soul Boyfriend to wither the control the Corruption had on his body. For Corruption Expanded, however, Boyfriend never gets to have a chance to escape his Corruption, because his body is too busy healing itself from Daddy Dearest's final attack. Being unable to heal, Boyfriend's uncorrupted self is never in the story and he is only in the background recovering from his injuries for an unknown amount of time.
  • Demoted to Extra: Friday Night Funkin': Corruption once portrayed Evil Boyfriend as the main Villain Protagonist that is on his way to actively corrupt every character. Nearly all the characters that have been overpowered by the Corruption is Evil Boyfriend's doing. However, in Corruption Expanded, Evil Boyfriend only makes one appearance in "Deathmatch" and is no longer seen after it. While in the original, Boyfriend becomes the Hero Protagonist in the aftermath of "Deathmatch" and is actively being confronted by corrupted opponents.
  • Predecessor Villain: Evil Boyfriend is only present throughout "Deathmatch" and is only fought as the main opponent for Daddy Dearest. The main influence Evil Boyfriend has for the story are the victims he had corrupted are now being given focused on their goals to corrupt more survivors. Other than that, Evil Boyfriend is wounded by the end of "Deathmatch" and is sitting on the sidelines, while the surviving characters are given the most focus on how they are dealing the Corruption.
  • Put on a Bus to Hell: Evil Boyfriend is written out of Corruption Expanded by having endured an attack from Daddy Dearest. The attack was so strong that Boyfriend got knocked out and is unable to heal from his injuries. It is left unknown as to when or if Boyfriend will fully heal, but it is clear that his role in this mod is no longer present.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: In "Deathmatch", Evil Boyfriend succeeds in overpowering Daddy Dearest with the help of the Corruption army and with the corrupted family members of Daddy Dearest. Although Evil Boyfriend defeated Daddy Dearest, it was not without having to sustain heavy injuries from the latter. The attack Evil Boyfriend received from Daddy Dearest was so great that it put him out of commission and being unable to participate in the mod.

Let's see if your supposed "GOD" saves you now...
"Aww, poor Ruv. All that effort has been in vain. HA! You just really wasted my time, and now this will be your tomb! SAY YOUR PRAYERS, PUNK!"
—Evil Pico's Pre Ass Kicking One Liner at the beginning of "Rebellion".
Pico is one of many victims having fallen to the Corruption, in particular being the third one to fall to the virus. He serves as the Arc Villain of Ruvyzvat's week in Corruption Expanded.
  • Adaptational Badass: Evil Pico in this mod proves himself to be stronger than his counterpart from Friday Night Funkin': Corruption, despite lacking the Nexus form. Although Evil Pico in Corruption Expanded isn't able to transform into the Nexus state, due to the form being only accessible in the fifth mutation stage, Evil Pico is still a formidable opponent to Ruv.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: From the original Corruption mod, Evil Pico was more of a hostile force that only wanted to corrupt his victims and doesn't really show much of a personality. The closest Evil Pico got to being a jerk was when he laughed evilly at Boyfriend's supposed death from having been shot by a bullet. In here, Evil Pico's desire to corrupt his victims is expressed and he becomes a huge jerk in "Preledovanila" for swearing curse words on some occasions in the fight. In "Rebellion", Evil Pico's jerk attitude reaches its highest when he frequently sings angrily at Ruv and taunts him for even trying to look for Sarvente.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Aside from being an even bigger jerk when compared to his original counterpart, Evil Pico has a much more villainous portrayal in Corruption Expanded. He is a Super-Persistent Predator that refuses to leave Ruv alone until the latter is corrupted and is taunting him for believing that Sarvente could be saved from the Corruption. Evil Pico's villainy is at its peak when he silences Pico from begging Ruv for death and making a declaration that death itself won't save the corrupted victims.
  • Adapted Out: Downplayed. For the Nexus state, Evil Pico never activates it, but it can still be possible to achieve if Evil Pico is able to reach his fifth mutation phase. Rather than have the Nexus form be used as a Deadly Upgrade, it instead acts as the final transformation Evil Pico needs to achieve to work at maximum performance.
  • Arc Villain: For Week 2, Evil Pico serves as its Arc Villain by being a constant hindrance that slows Ruv's down from reaching Sarvente's church. Evil Pico starts off the week by approaching the hideout of the main characters and battling Ruv. Their battle with each other escalates into a Chase Fight, with Ruv running to the church while Evil Pico hops on top of a limousine to chase him down. Eventually in "Rebellion", Evil Pico and his corrupted allies work together to overwhelm Ruv with their numbers.
  • Better to Die than Be Killed: The fate of Pico's body being under the control of the Corruption proves too much for him to tolerate. During "Rebellion", Pico points his gun towards the head of his corrupted body, so he would put to end the misery the Corruption is giving him. As Ruv slowly falls onto his knees, Pico takes his last chance to speak and request Ruv for death to come. Unfortunately for Pico, his evil self takes control of him and taunts Ruv for thinking that death can save the victims trapped inside the Corruption.
  • Boom, Headshot!: Once Evil Pico randomly pulls himself another gun out of thin air, Pico temporarily takes control of himself to use the gun. Pico uses the gun by shooting himself in the head, so he can either kill himself or give Ruv a chance to fight back.
  • Demonic Head Shake:
    • In his appearance during the cutscenes of Week 2, Evil Pico's head slightly shakes when he is given a front forward view.
    • For his fourth mutation phase in "Rebellion", Evil Pico's head shakes aggressively during his static animations. Unlike his previous forms where he just bops his head up and down, Evil Pico is truly shaking his entire head from the power surging within himself.
  • Empty Eyes: The losing icon for the fourth phase of his Corruption results in Evil Pico's eye pupils disapearring,
  • Evolution Power-Up: Each time Evil Pico is put out of commission in "Rebellion", he will eventually put himself back together and evolve himself into a new form to become stronger.
    • For the first time his mutation happens on screen in "Rebellion" is by recovering from the loud noises Ruv had caused him to get knocked out. After recovering, Evil Pico becomes even angrier that before and his sprite is more detailed.
    • For Evil Pico's forth phase of his mutation, he is able to fully suppress Pico inside himself and go at full power to fight Ruv.
  • Fascinating Eyebrow: The reaction to hearing the Embarrassing Ringtone of the phone Ruv had received causes Evil Pico to have one of his eyebrows bent down to show his confusion.
  • Flunky Boss: Downplayed. Evil Mommy Mearest and Evil Sarvente are not exactly minions but are victims that are corrupted just like Evil Pico. What sets Evil Pico apart from them is that he acts as the main lead for the Ruv week and is the most personal threat to Ruv, while Evil Sarvente and Evil Mommy Mearest act as more of a reinforcement.
  • Gotta Get Your Head Together: Evil Pico holds onto his head in "Presledovanila" during the moments where Sunday is playing her guitar at him. The next time Evil Pico holds onto his head is when Ruv sings so loudly at Evil Sarvente that it results in Evil Pico getting knocked out.
    • Evil Pico puts his hands on his head during the times where Sunday is rocking on her guitar in "Preledovanila". When Sunday plays her guitar for too long, Evil Pico loses his cool and shoots off Carol's phone, so that Sunday's guitar playing won't be heard anymore.
    • Evil Pico briefly holds his head together when Ruv unleashes a barrage of long notes that shuts him down in "Rebellion".
  • Guns Akimbo: When Evil Pico reaches the fourth phase of his mutation transformation, he at first only has one gun to battle against Ruv. Later in "Rebellion", Evil Pico suddenly gains another gun as his extra weapon to fight Ruv.
  • Gun Twirling: Evil Pico's fourth phase of the Corruption mutation has him twirl one of his guns around each time he is singing against Ruv. For Evil Pico's forth mutation, he twirls one of his guns in one moment when he prepares to counter rap Ruv in the moment the latter prepares to resume singing.
  • Hammerspace: Played for Drama: Evil Pico's forth mutation phase has him pull out another Uzi out of thin air and it is later used by Pico shooting himself in the head.
  • The Heavy: Evil Pico is given the most focus in Week 2 for his goal to have Ruv be corrupted in their rap battles. Even though other corrupted victims get their chance to battle Ruv, Evil Pico is clearly given the most opportunities to sing against him.
  • Heroic Willpower: Exploited. Pico briefly gains control over his corrupted body and use one of the guns he is holding to shoot himself in the head during "Rebellion". However, for the long run, this is a bad idea since it allows the Corruption to re-corrupt him again and become even stronger.
  • Jerkass:
    • For Evil Pico's battle against Ruv in "Presledovanila", the former is frequently cursing in the song to taunt Ruv and reacts wildly each time Sunday rocks her guitar at him.
    • Evil Pico frequently belittles Ruv for the latter's futile attempt to go after Sarvente's church and for believing that Sarvente herself is still alive. When Ruv reaches Sarvente's church, Evil Pico only uses his time to taunt Ruv for having reached the end of his destination, before revealing that Sarvente was corrupted all along.
  • Mythology Gag: The fourth mutation that Evil Pico undergoes through near the end of "Rebellion" is a reference to his appearance from "Headshot", a song originating from Friday Night Funkin': Corruption.
  • Pain & Gain: The mutations that causes Evil Pico to evolve and become stronger happens in the moments where is temporarily disabled. When knocked out, Evil Pico will eventually heal himself up and when ready, he evolves himself into a new form where he is stronger than before.
  • Outside Ride: To chase after Ruv on the road, Evil Pico stands on top of a limousine to chase him down. While Evil Pico raps on top of the car, Ruv has to run fast while being able to rap battle Evil Pico at the same time.
  • Speed Echoes: Near the end of "Blasphemy", Evil Pico's rapping speed begins to increase, and it results in his body creating echoes of itself.
  • Super-Persistent Predator: For the cutscene of "Presledovanila", Evil Pico refuses to let Ruv take the chance to leave their battle. When Ruv runs away from the shelter of his allies, Evil Pico hops himself on top of a limousine to chase down Ruv and has Evil Girlfriend be tasked on corrupting the survivors on the shelter. As Ruv briefly gets away from Evil Pico in the cutscene of "Rebellion", Evil Pico lets out his frustration on how he will not leave Ruv alone, until the latter is finally finished. Evil Pico's frustrations get so strong that he rages to Ruv throughout the majority of "Rebellion" and gets even angrier once he mutates himself.

    Tankman
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tankman_corruption_expanded_video_picture_corrupted.png
Tankman is the second opponent to appear in rap battling Daddy Dearest in "Deathmatch", after Evil Pico takes his turn in the battle.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Friday Night Funkin': Corruption has Tankman makes an appearance in Week 10. That is after "Deathmatch", where the victims that have fallen into the Corruption are confronting Daddy Dearest. For the "Deathmatch" of Corruption Expanded, Tankman is one of the first characters that appears in this mod, since he got to be the many opponents that had a chance to rap battle Daddy Dearest.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Carl and Joe's conversation in a cutscene before "Rebellion" have them explain the uncertain fate of Sergeant John. For the Tankman that battled Daddy Dearest, it is left unknown as to whether this Tankman is the Sergeant John Carl and Joe are referring to. If this Tankman really is Sergeant John, then it confirms that he got overpowered by the Corruption.
  • Chained by Fashion: He has one string of chain strapped around his shoulder as part of his sprite.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: His sprite shows a bullet wound on his leg, but Evil Tankman doesn't seem to be at all affected by the wound and can rap normally with nothing slowing him down.
  • Only a Flesh Wound: The motor functions on his body aren't affected by the bullet wound in his leg and he can rap with no problems against Daddy Dearest.

    Darnell
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/darnell_corruption_expanded_video_picture_corrupted.png
Darnell is one of the many corrupt opponents that appear in "Deathmatch" to have a turn in rapping against Daddy Dearest.
  • The Generic Guy: When compared to Tankman who has relations with an army of Tankmen being present in this mod and Whitty being once a cameo character, before being part of the cast in the "Deathmatch" remix of Corruption Expanded, Evil Darnell has no outstanding traits. Aside from being an opponent for Daddy Dearest to battle and being a friend of Pico, Darnell's characterization is the least prominent out of all the characters that appeared in the prologue.
  • Ornamental Weapon: Evil Darnell is always holding onto his lighter and spray can during the battle against Daddy Dearest. At times in the moments Evil Darnell is rapping, his lighter is on fire and it could be useful in the fight, but the weapons he is holding is never used on Daddy Dearest.

    Skid and Pump
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skid_and_pump_corruption_expanded_corrupted.png
1241234134... IT'S THE SPOOKY MONTH!!!......
Skid and Pump were one of the first victims infected with the Corruption and are the main villains of Week 1. They both barge inside a church to threatened Sarvente in infecting her with the Corruption. Sarvente's response to their threat is to at first uncorrupt them, but because Evil Skid and Pump's Corruption is too powerful to remove, she chooses to kill them as a last resort.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: In the "Phantasm" cover, Skid and Pump are shown to be singing at a high pitch when they are taking lead in the song. For their corrupted selves taking the lead, both of them sing in a much lower pitch that is comparable to their vocals in "Chiller" from Friday Night Funkin': Corruption and the entirety of Week 1 on this mod.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: In their fully corrupted form, their pink eyes start to have shades of glowing white whenever their icons are dominating Sarvente in Week 1.

    Whitty
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/whitty_corruption_expanded_video_picture_corrupted.png
Whitty who was once a background character in the "Deathmatch" of Friday Night Funkin': Corruption is now a playable character that gets to have a chance in rap battling Daddy Dearest in the "Deathmatch" remix of Corruption Expanded.
  • Ascended Extra: Whitty in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption was only a background character that only appears in "Deathmatch" as a cameo character. For the remix "Deathmatch", the long length of the song allows Whitty to have a chance to personally battle Daddy Dearest, which is something that was never present in the original mod.
  • Promoted to Playable: Whitty for his appearance in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption only appeared in the background and was never an opponent for Daddy Dearest to battle. The Corruption Expanded "Deathmatch" remix expands the song into having more characters that can personally rap battle Daddy Dearest. One of extra characters is Whitty making his appearance to be a playable character in a fight against Daddy Dearest.
  • Your Head Asplode: Averted. Whitty from the original mod has a bomb that acts his head and it is able to explode if he is feeling too stressed to contain the energy inside him. However, Evil Whitty's battle against Daddy Dearest has the bomb on the head be constantly lit on fire whenever he is rapping, yet the head never comes close to exploding.

    Mommy Mearest
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mommy_mearest_corruption_expanded_corrupted.png
Evil Mommy Mearest is one of the corrupted victims that is most responsible for having put down many survivors that have tried to resist the Corruption. In her appearance during "Deathmatch", she proves to be a major component in making Daddy Dearest vulnerable to the Corruption. Evil Mommy Mearest is frequently seen in moments where her corrupt allies require reinforcement in beating survivors in battle.
  • Hope Crusher: She acts as the major reason as to why Daddy Dearest isn't able to beat the Corruption and is the main threat that stopped Ruv from ever succeeding in his mission to save Sarvente at her church.
    • At first glance, Daddy Dearest is doing exceptionally well at battling an entire army of corrupted victims and doesn't show any signs of ever getting corrupted. Yet when Evil Mommy Mearest makes her appearance, Daddy Dearest loses his anger and starts to become vulnerable to getting corrupted. Daddy Dearest's victory slips at his grasps even more with Evil Girlfriend making her appearance to rap battle him. Afterwards, it only becomes a matter of time before Daddy Dearest is fully corrupted.
    • Before she confronts Ruv in "Rebellion", the latter is evenly matched in his fight with both Evil Sarvente and Evil Pico. If Evil Mommy Mearest never took action, Ruv might have succeeded in saving Sarvente from the Corruption and defeat Evil Pico all together. However, once Evil Mommy Mearest appears on Ruv's back, he quickly gets disoriented by having to turn around to face her. Soon enough, Ruv is put to his knees and is overpowered by the Corruption, the moment Evil Mommy Mearest sabotaged his rescue mission.
  • Interface Screw: The moment Evil Mommy Mearest makes her appearance in "Rebellion", Ruv ends up needing to constantly turn his body around just to face her in battle. Each time Evil Mommy Mearest sings, the arrow pads are switched from the front and back whenever Evil Sarvente decides to take a turn. Eventually, all the switching and turning causes Ruv to feel disoriented in the battle.

    Girlfriend

Voiced by: PincerProd (voice samples of "Estrange"), Alexxa (in game)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/girlfriend_corruption_expanded_video_picture_corrupted.png
Girlfriend is one of the first victims that the Corruption managed to infect. She makes her first appearance in "Deathmatch", where she serves as the second reason that pushes Daddy Dearest even further into his Despair Event Horizon.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Zig-zagged. In terms of being a playable character, Evil Girlfriend is Promoted to Playable in "Deathmatch" of Corruption Expanded, which is something that was never really present in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption. In the original mod, Evil Girlfriend is only confronted by Boyfriend in Week 9, meaning it takes two weeks after "Deathmatch" for her to become an Arc Villain of her own week.
  • Adaptational Wimp: When she battled Boyfriend in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption, she had powerful abilities that almost gave her a victory against him. Evil Girlfriend's illusions, transformations, and Tendrils of Darkness proved necessary in giving her a good fight against Boyfriend. For the version of Evil Girlfriend in this mod, she lacked any sort of special abilities upon fighting Kapi, Sunday, and Carol. Evil Girlfriend's fight against them in "Intermission" results in her defeat that she had to be teleported away.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: When Sunday unleashes her rocking skills at Evil Girlfriend, the latter starts to be on the losing ground, while Sunday, Carol, and Kapi get a lead advantage over her. Eventually near the end of their fight in "Intermission", Evil Girlfriend is teleported away, as Sunday rocks at her hardest with her guitar.
  • Dead All Along: For a while, Carol, Sunday, and Kapi were all unaware of what had happened to Girlfriend, once the Corruption had spread to corrupt everyone. When they finally meet her in "Intermission", Carol realizes that her best friend had already been corrupted, and it explains the reason as to why Girlfriend isn't answering her phone.
  • Flashy Teleportation: The teleportation that takes Evil Girlfriend away by the end of "Intermission" shows itself to be a glowing beam of light that acts as a way to take her away.
  • Giggling Villain: Evil Girlfriend alerts her existence to Kapi, Carol, and Sunday by releasing an evil giggle. By giggling, Kapi, Sunday, and Carol go leave their base to confront Evil Girlfriend. Now confronted by the survivors, Evil Girlfriend lets out one more giggle, before rap battling them in "Intermission".
  • Internal Reveal: To the viewers, they are already aware that Girlfriend was already corrupted from the start, due to being one of the first characters infected by the Corruption and by fighting Daddy Dearest in her corrupted form. When Evil Girlfriend confronts the main characters, Carol is saddened to learning that her best friend was corrupted all along.
  • Pillar of Light: The teleportation that had taken Evil Girlfriend away by the end of "Intermission" takes form of a Pillar of Light that shines brightly at the place Evil Girlfriend was once standing. When the beam of light appears, Evil Girlfriend suddenly disappears, before the beam of light also disappears.
  • Promoted to Playable: In "Deathmatch", Evil Girlfriend is one of the characters the players get to play at against Daddy Dearest. Evil Girlfriend being playable was never present in the original mod, since she is mainly the opponent for Week 9 in that mod.
  • Starter Villain: For the main characters, Evil Girlfriend serves as the first villain that Kapi, Carol, and Sunday face off, after Ruv leaves them to go find Sarvente. The fight Carol, Sunday, and Kapi go through is by hurling their attacks at Evil Girlfriend, until she is teleported away by the end of "Intermission".

Miscellaneous Characters

    Soul Boyfriend
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/soul_boyfriend_corruption_expanded_video_picture_7.png
Soul Boyfriend appears in a cover of "BI-NB" where he is the playable character rap battling Sunday.
  • Adapted Out: Soul Boyfriend was an Imaginary Friend that appeared in the depths of Boyfriend's mind from Friday Night Funkin': Corruption. For the Corruption Expanded, Soul Boyfriend is not included in the story and is instead in a cover of "BI-NB" to rap battle Sunday.
  • Expressive Health Bar: Soul Boyfriend's health bar expresses how he feels whenever he is either winning or losing against Sunday in the "BI-NB" cover. For winning, Soul Boyfriend's health bar icon is relaxed and his losing icon shows him to be shocked at being unable to keep up in the battle.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: His battle against Sunday in "BI-NB" lacks any context for it to a part of the Corruption Expanded storyline, making Soul Boyfriend a random boss that battles Sunday for the sake of it.
  • Negative Continuity: He makes his appearance to rap battle Sunday in "BI-NB", but because the song doesn't belong to the Corruption Expanded universe, there isn't any continuity in their battle.
  • Promoted to Playable: Soul Boyfriend acted as The Rival for Boyfriend in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption, but the remix cover of "BI-NB" turns Soul Boyfriend as a playable character that rap battles Sunday.
  • Stunned Silence: His losing icon for his Expressive Health Bar shows himself to be stunned from Sunday overpowering him.

Soul Skid and Pump (Unmarked spoilers
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/soul_skid_and_pump_corruption_expanded.png
Two characters that appear in the end of the "Phantasm" cover to help Skid and Pump battle the Corruption on their bodies. As Skid and Pump slowly lose to their evil selves, the appearance of Soul Skid and Pump take action to battle the Corruption. The support of Soul Skid and Pump result in the Corruption's health being drained away, and for Skid and Pump to regain their health in taking control of their bodies once again.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Soul Skid and Pump are substitute characters that are based off Soul Boyfriend. Both of them fulfill the role as guardians that protect Skid and Pump from their corrupted selves, just like what Soul Boyfriend did with Boyfriend in Friday Night Funkin': Corruption. To further show Soul Skid and Pump's similarities to Soul Boyfriend, both of them act as The Rival for Skid and Pump to better combat their Corruption.
  • Original Character: They are characters that have never existed in the official continuity of Friday Night Funkin': Corruption and the canon storyline of Corruption Expanded. Both characters were created in the "Phantasm" cover to give Skid and Pump the push they need to beat their corrupted selves and take back control of their bodies.
  • Walking Spoiler: For the majority of the "Phantasm" cover, it is mainly just Skid and Pump rap battling against their corrupt selves with no other opponents entering the battle. Soul Skid and Pump make their appearance near the end of the song when Skid and Pump are at their weakest in combating their evil selves. With the help of Soul Skid and Pump, they succeed in draining away the health of Evil Skid and Pump, which allows Skid and Pump to be in control again.

     Alternate Pico
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/evil_pico_nexus_form_corruption_expanded_video_picture.png
With Sunday using the "Dimensionator", she is transported into the official Friday Night Funkin': Corruption universe. Inside the universe, an alternate version of Evil Pico appears before her. Before Evil Pico engages his fight with Sunday, he transforms into the Nexus state, not wanting her to survive the battle.
  • All for Nothing: Played for Laughs. Pico gets saved from the Corruption when Sunday successfully beats his evil self in the end of "Blood Moon". All of a sudden, a fail screen appears just when an army of undead Tankmen begin to approach him and Sunday. The fail screen ends up preventing Pico from enjoying his freedom of having escaped the Corruption, since the battle was too easy for Sunday to be interested in.
  • Alternate Self: To the Evil Pico of Corruption Expanded, the Friday Night Funkin': Corruption version of Evil Pico serves as an alternate self. Unlike the Corruption Expanded Evil Pico, the alternate version of him is not able to mutate himself to become stronger and instead relies on the Nexus transformation to battle Sunday in "Blood Moon".
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Downplayed. He is clearly losing to Sunday in their battle during "Blood Moon", but he gives her a relatively good fight with the abilities of the Nexus state. For Sunday to defeat Evil Pico, she needed to strategize in using her own blanket, so that she would get an opening to smack his face with her guitar.
  • Dead Alternate Counterpart: Inverted. His Corruption Expanded counterpart is left at the mercy of the Corruption and is not at all freed from the infection. On the other hand, this version of Pico is freed from the Corruption with the help of Sunday. Sadly, for Pico, he never really gets the time to experience his freedom, since Sunday received a fail screen.
  • Excuse Plot: The only reason Sunday is able to go into his universe and be confronted by Evil Pico is because she used a "Dimensionator" to travel into his universe. Once Evil Pico meets Sunday, they both sing a cover of "Blood Moon", which results in a big battle between them. After their battle, the journey just ends, leaving No Ending and Sunday having to choose a different choice to progress another path.
  • Worf Effect: In the original mod, Evil Pico's Nexus transformation is treated as a dangerous threat that Boyfriend had to be careful of. In here, the Evil Pico losing to Sunday while in his Nexus form is to serve that Sunday is so strong that the Friday Night Funkin': Corruption universe is not worth continuing.
