    open/close all folders

    Ichigo Hoshimiya
Voiced by: Sumire Morohoshi (speaking), Waka Kirishima (singing)

Ichigo is a cheerful girl who at first had no interest in idols until she went to see the live performance of Mizuki Kanzaki. Convinced by her best friend Aoi, she took the Starlight Entrance Exam in order to become an idol herself. She is a talented, cute-type idol who was shown with a decent amount of Beginner's Luck at the start of series. She uses the brand Angely Sugar.

  • Action Girl: By this point, she's the second biggest in the series by far.
  • An Axe to Grind: Granted, Aikatsu being what it is she uses it to chop wood rather than fight, but scenes of Ichigo weilding an axe are recurrent.
  • Animal-Eared Headband: Ichigo has been shown with bunny ear and cat ear accessories for a few outfits.
  • Bad Liar: Ichigo is all but incapable of lying, and the only way she can stop from blurting out a secret is to keep her mouth too stuffed with food to talk period.
  • Big Eater: So very much.
  • Beginner's Luck: She managed to pull off a Special Appeal during her very first performance.
  • Bunnies for Cuteness: Her bow invokes rabbit ears, as do her red eyes. Fittingly, Ichigo is the walking definition of cute.
  • Character Aged with the Actor: Ichigo was 13 at the start of series and by the middle of the second season is currently 16. Interestingly enough, her speaking voice actress Sumire Morohoshi started the series when she was 13, and is currently 15.
  • Childhood Friends: With Aoi
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Has been noted many times in the series.
  • Cool Big Sis: To Raichi.
  • Determinator: You have no idea.
  • Diet Episode: Became the victim of one after eating too much food while on holiday break.
  • Expressive Accessory: Her red ribbon moves up and down according to her mood.
  • Fairytale Wedding Dress: When she donned the identity of "Bride of Frankenstein" in Episode 19.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: Ichigo is known for being a very good cook and often takes it upon herself to make foods for special occasions.
  • Flower Motifs: Her idol aura
  • Frilly Upgrade: Most of her coords give her this appearance when compared to her normal outfit choices.
  • Genki Girl: One of her most defining personality traits.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Whenever she trains or goes swimming. When she was little, she wore braided pigtails
  • Gratuitous English: Dabbles into this after returning from America.
    • Ichigo learned to adapt by using Japanese words put together. Such as saying "don't mind" with "Udonmai".
  • Hair Decorations: A big red ribbon attached to a headband.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold
  • The Klutz: She has her moments.
  • The Leader: Of Soleil
  • Little Miss Badass: This girl has scaled cliffs, handled an axe on more than one occasion, rode orcas in the middle of the sea, skydives (courtesy of Kaede) and does deep seas scuba diving and has actually become renowned for the first one. And keep in mind this was after she became an idol.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Ichigo, which translates as "Strawberry", a fruit associated usually with the color pink. This also fits with her mother's name Ringo (Apple) and brother Raichi (Lychee).
    • The "Hoshi" in her last name means star. This is referenced by Johnny-sensei who calls her "Star-miya" and Mizuki who once noted that Ichigo was "a natural-born star." This also refers to Ichigo becoming the "sun" as the sun is also a star.
  • My Music Shines Brighter Than Yours: With Seira
  • Obsessed with Food: Every now and then.
  • Pink Heroine: Although she has a red bow seen on her no matter what she wears, many of her outfits give her pink as a main motif color, and indeed the Stage Coord she chooses in the beginning of the show is the Pink version.
  • Pink Means Feminine
  • Platonic Declaration of Love: Her song from the movie, Radiant Etude, was this to Mizuki, the person she admires.
  • Plucky Girl
  • Put on a Bus:

    • Granted, this is technically justified due to the fact that she wasn't wearing her brand, and hadn't performed on stage for a year.

    • Not long after her debut, the kissing was cut out. But that doesn't mean the same for the glomping.
  • Happy Harlequin Hat: As a carnival-themed brand, Magical Toy does have some coords with this.
  • Hair Decorations: A white barrette with a yellow gem.
  • In-Series Nickname: She's referred to as the American Super Idol for a very good reason.

And some of these she does for fun. No, seriously.
  • Magical Girl/Magic Idol Singer: A more literal case. She's a magician and uses the brand Magical Toy, but her abilities are her own and weren't gained through magic.

  • Deadpan Snarker: She’s constantly pointing out the flaws in Otome’s plans even as she goes along with them.
