Old Complete Monster cleanup thread

Welcome to the new Complete Monster (CM) cleanup thread! This thread is where we clean up or cut already-existing entries.

If you're looking to add new entries, please see the approval thread.

IMPORTANT: Before you begin any discussions on this thread, please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List. Here, you'll find explanations of the criteria for the trope as well as our rules/procedures for approving and cutting candidates.

What goes through this thread?

    Examples
  • Cut requests. If you believe a CM has been approved and they do not count, this thread is where you propose their removal. To know how to go about this, please see the FAQ folder on the Administrivia page, where the process is explained in detail.
  • If we ever need to consider cutting multiple examples without individually reviewing them (e.g. if we discover widespread plagiarism with a particular troper's CMs), the initial discussion will be on this thread and we'll then escalate to the mod team (as described here) to get a formal consensus if we decide to recommend a mass cut.
  • If an entry was put on the wrong subpage/YMMV page, you may propose where they should be moved to.
  • Full rewrites of existing entries, including expansions, trims, and ground-up rewrites. If your rewrite is approved by the thread, feel free to add it to the drafts page so that other users can check grammar and the like before it is included with the rest of the weekly swaps.
  • If an entry on a work's YMMV page doesn't match the entry on the media subpage, you can bring it here to discuss which entry works better.

What does not go through this thread?

    Examples
  • New candidate proposals - as stated before, those are done on this thread.
  • Unapproved wicks - if a Troper encounters either of these kinds of wicks, they can be cut with no approval.
    • Any CM link on a non-YMMV page - as a YMMV trope, it should not be linked on those pages regardless of any cleanup effort. The only exception is if the wick is being used within the definition of another trope.
    • If an CM link on a YMMV page refers to an unapproved character. If it refers to an approved character on any such page, the wick can stay. On the other hand, if the unapproved character being linked to sounds like they might have promise (and you don't feel like checking it out for yourself), feel free to mention it on the approval thread - someone may already know why they don't count, or it could invite a brand new discussion!
  • Proposals for images, quotes, and videos of already-approved CMs - quotes and images are proposed on the approval thread, while videos can be uploaded normally as they are screened for approval by the moderation.
  • Crosswicking examples to YMMV pages - if an example has already been approved and added to the main page, you do not require any special permission to add the example to a work's YMMV page (assuming the work has a page already). If a YMMV page doesn't exist yet, then you can make it yourself, but either way, feel free to just add the example without asking.
  • Small changes to existing entries - these can simply be done on a Troper's own prerogative with no approval.
    • Spelling and grammar fixes.
    • Pothole changes.
    • Minor rewordings.
    • Spoiler tags.

While these changes do not require any kind of approval, it is requested that should you make any of these changes, you do one of the following:

  1. Make the same changes on the relevant Sandbox page, then add the Sandbox to the list at the bottom of the drafts page. This will add the Sandbox to the weekly swaps and ensure that the edits end up on the relevant locked page. If the Sandbox is already listed, then once you make the edits, your job is already done!
  2. If you don't know how the Sandboxes work or simply don't have the time to find it, then you can simply post on the thread about the changes you made. Someone else can then make the edit on the relevant Sandbox and add it to the weekly swaps.
  3. Alternatively, you can simply request that the change be made directly to the locked page on the Locked Pages thread. Members of this thread keep track of that one, so we will ensure that the changes are made in the Sandbox so that it doesn't get deleted during the next swap.

Again, these changes don't require any approval, but we prefer to keep the entries on the YMMV pages and the locked pages the same in order to avoid any miscommunication or errors between entries, so if you do make the change, we would greatly appreciate it if you could ensure the change is made on the locked page as well.

As a final note, we do not care what other sites have to say regarding whether or not a character counts. We have our own criteria and they have theirs for their CM equivalents; while they are similar, they are not exactly the same and should not be treated as such. Another site removing a character from their equivalent should not be a reason why a cut is proposed here, and if this is the case, it will likely lead to mod intervention.

Other than this, once again, welcome to the cleanup thread, and we look forward to your contributions!

Gonna ask an odd question, but what kind of bearing does Karmic Rape have on a works heinous standard ? It is an understandably fucked up and awful trope, but my question is if it's a "Make it or break it" on a works heinous standard ?

For context, I just caught this work which featured a Serial Rapist who I think would otherwise count, except part of his karmic punishment is that he and his accomplice are themselves brainwashed into sleeping with eachother by one of their victims.

[up] If it’s just one Karmic Rape as compared to a Serial Rapist with a lot of rapes then I would say that doesn’t affect the standard, but if the “Heroes” are inflicting lots of karmic rapes then a Serial Rapist can’t be bad enough.

Rest go next week.

  • Mortal Kombat reformat
  • Blood+:
    • Original series: Amshel Goldsmith is a researcher obsessed with Chiropterans, The Man in Front of the Man to Diva, and responsible for all the chaos in the setting. Since her birth, Amshel twisted Diva to become a Psychopathic Womanchild easy for him to control, while he used her resulting appetite for death and destruction to profit and increase his own power at the expense of her victims. Living for hundreds of years, Amshel now has the public persona of the CEO of pharmaceutical company Cinque Flèches, and uses his wealth to create a group of artificial Chiropterans known as The Schiff, raising them as Child Soldiers and treating them like equipment, as shown by his indifference to their deaths when they escape his clutches and their shortened lifespans begin to expire. A man with loyalty to none, Amshel even kills his own brother, Solomon, for falling in love with Saya. His false loyalty to Diva is an obvious ruse which even she can see through but chooses to go along with out of loneliness, and when she's killed, Amshel reacts with only irritation and demands to be given her children so he can continue his insane experiments.
    • Manga adaptation, by Asuka Katsura: Amshel Goldsmith is no less vile in this abridged retelling of the anime. Back in the 19th century, Amshel devoted himself to Diva by becoming her Chevalier, manipulating her sister Saya into releasing her and having her slaughter an entire banquet to his delight. Securing Diva for his own selfish needs, Amshel spent the centuries concocting schemes to fulfill Diva's dream of a world infested with Chiropeans, establishing the pharmaceutical company Cinq Fleches to conduct countless human experiments and massacres to achieve said dream. Seeking to have Diva mate with the Chevalier Riku, Amshel organizes an attack on a Red Shield ship to slaughter everybody onboard. With his care for Diva nothing more than possessive obsession, Amshel uses the Red Guard attack to reveal his secret project, the Corpse Corps, child Chiropean soldiers created for the sole purpose of wiping out all of Diva's Chevaliers so that only he can rule beside her. Spreading the Chiropean virus with his D67 drugs, Amshel organizes an opera performance by Diva to be broadcasted worldwide, with her singing activating the drugs' effects and creating a massive Chiropean infestation.
  • Season 7: Clifford Marion Blossom is the corrupt Mayor of Riverdale in the 1950s timeline. • Blue Beetle Vol. 7: The Reach Negotiator is a representative of the Reach revealed to have gone rogue, violating the treaty between the Green Lanterns in favor of conquering the Earth. Initially putting up a friendly facade to Jaime Reyes, the Negotiator reveals his vicious cruelty by crushing the skull of one of his subordinates for stating the Earth is too dangerous to control. The Negotiator has dozens of people injected with Scarabs to turn them into homicidal monsters threatening to slaughter half of the city as an experiment. The Negotiator plans to set up machines known as World Rippers to destroy the Earth's surface, saving humanity simply so he can turn them into a Slave Race to mine their vital resources. When Reyes tries to foil his plans, the Negotiator settles for trying to murder his whole family and decides to destroy the Earth and everyone in it out of desperation and spite, not caring about the lives of his own men who could perish in the attack.
  • All For Luz (My Hero Academia & The Owl House):
    • S1: Governor Rodger Maxwell, the Governor of Connecticut, takes advantage of the Mass Super-Empowering Event in order to try and wipe all superhumans from the map. Kidnapping 33 superhuman children, Maxwell has them all compete in a Death Game where they are split into teams and are forced to kill each other. Seeing Luz Noceda's potential through All For One, Maxwell manipulates the two other teams with the promise of money to spearhead an attack on all of Luz's teammates, including Julia, getting her to snap and kill the rest of them to steal their powers so he can blow Luz up, before planning to expand his genocidal goals. Despite his arrest, Maxwell caused the deaths of 27 innocent children and is responsible for the deterioration of Luz's mental state.
    • S2's "Death To Normality" arc: Jonah Smith is a gigantic, sadistically violent assassin for Tyler Wittebane, known as the worst of the superhumans. Raping and murdering his wife before gaining his Quirk and becoming an assassin, Jonah enjoys taunting and causing suffering to his victims before killing them. Getting orders to assassinate Camila Noceda, Jonah taunts and throws the scared woman around as he laughs at her before killing her. During a brutal battle against Luz which destroys a chunk of Gravesfield and kills countless people, Jonah has Camila's body teleported to be destroyed by Luz, making her think she killed her mother for no reason other than spite.
  • Reverend Preston Teagardin is a charismatic preacher in the old South, but also a sexual predator who targets underaged girls. After seducing Arvin's sister Lenora and leaving her pregnant before cruelly dismissing her, leading her to suicide, Teagardin refuses any hint of responsibility. Arvin later confirms Teagardin is a Serial Rapist who seduces and assaults girls, never once acknowledging a hint of responsibility.
  • Drag Me to Hell: The Lamia is an ancient demon used as a curse to drag humans to eternal suffering in Hell, something it delights in. Sadistically plaguing its victims for three days before claiming them, it's shown violently pulling a young boy to the underworld and, when cursed upon banker Christine Brown, drives her to madness before taking her soul as well.
  • Millennium Series film adaptations:
    • The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011): Much as in the original novel, these members of the Vanger clan are utterly depraved:
      • Martin Vanger is a polite, charming CEO who uses his position in society to cover up the fact that he is a Serial Killer and rapist of women, kidnapping them and spending days raping and torturing them before ending their lives. Martin has been committing his atrocities for decades, and his victim count handily reaches into the hundreds. Even worse is the reveal that Martin was raised to be a killer by his equally repulsive father, Gottfried, and though potentially tragic, it is made explicitly clear that Martin just enjoys raping and killing, made all the more obvious by turning his own sister into his personal sex and torture slave after his father is out of the picture. Martin tries to subject Mikael Blomkvist to the same torments of his previous victims in the end, and simply excuses his crimes by proclaiming it is his hobby and he is living a "complete life".
      • Gottfried Vanger is a fanatical Nazi with an obsession for mimicking and mocking the Bible. Gottfried murdered more than 6 women in horrific ways resembling punishments from the Book of Leviticus, always subjecting them to brutal rape and torture beforehand. Be it by bashing their skulls in or raping them to death with farming tools, Gottfried perpetrated his acts with zeal, and took his own personal sadism to such a level that he sexually abused his own son and daughter, helping the former—Martin—realize his love for killing while turning the latter—Harriet—into his toy to be tortured until he finally tired of this and attempted to murder her.
    • The Girl in the Spider's Web: Jan Holtsen, once a subordinate of Lisbeth Salander's Human Trafficking, mass murdering father Zalachenko, is now the right hand of her twin sister Camilla. Mutilating and torturing anyone who gets on his bad side, Holtsen murders a programmer who created Firefall, which gives access to the world's nuclear codes. Leading further death and torture, Holtsen plans to deliver it to Camilla to burn the world for his own advancement, and happily tortures Mikael Blomqvist for the end result.
  • Paycheck: James "Jimmy" Rethrick, the seemingly friendly CEO of Allcom, hires reverse engineer Michael Jennings to create a device to foresee events. Killing those involved after learning the device will inevitably lead to nuclear fallout when they protest, Rethrick only relents from killing Jennings after learning he has deactivated the machine. Luring Jennings back to Allcom, Rethrick decries him as a fool before setting Jennings up to die by the FBI he has manipulated, intent on using his device to devastate humanity in a future he alone controls.
  • Pixote: Sapatos Brancos and Almir represent the worst of the corrupt society that preys on children. Sapatos runs a cruel rehabilitation home for juvenile delinquents where he lets rampant physical and sexual abuse take place, locking the children in dark rooms completely naked to torture them. Sapatos sells children to the corrupt cop Almir for Almir to viciously torture and kill, so he can then frame them for crimes he is too lazy to solve. When one of Almir's latest victims dies from internal bleeding and the boy's mother raises an outrage, Sapatos and Almir frame another boy for it, kill him, then try to frame the boy's trans female lover for his death out of bigotry.
  • Speak No Evil: Patrick and Karin are a pair of seemingly friendly lovers, who are actually monstrous sadists. The couple are serial killers who lure milquetoast families into isolation and subject them to psychological torments for days. Patrick and Karin then murder the parents, cut out the children's tongues, and abuse the children into pretending to be their child, helping lure further families to their doom. Once they find a new child to replace the current, they murder the kid that has outlived its usefulness. Patrick and Karin subject couple Bjørn and Louise to this routine, forcing them to watch as their daughter's tongue is cut off before stoning the couple to death. With hundreds of trophies signifying a staggering body count, Patrick and Karin continue their spree, with no motive for their crimes beyond cruelty.
  • Suicide Club: Genesis—real name Muneo Suzuki—is a musician and wannabe cult leader desiring fame by any means possible, proudly seeing himself as a successor to Charles Manson. Forming his own "Suicide Club", Genesis leads his gang in committing multiple crimes to get credit for the mass suicides—specifically, Genesis enjoys taking small animals and innocent people to his "Pleasure Room", where they become playthings to Genesis' sadistic whims. When hacker Kiyoko and her sister are kidnapped by his gang, Genesis has one of his men rape and butcher a girl in front of the two, before ultimately deciding to take the life of Kiyoko's sister.
  • Tesis: Professor Jorge Castro and Bosco Herranz are the serial killers behind the Snuff Film operation. While Castro is obsessed with the necessity of violence in media, Bosco is a natural-born sadist who simply likes to hurt other people. Bosco lures girls to his film set and videotapes himself brutally torturing them for several minutes, with Castro editing the footage for him and anxious to have him murder even more people. When a fellow student, Ángela, begins getting too close to the truth, Bosco kills his own ex-girlfriend to cut off loose ends and tries to torture Ángela for getting in his way.
  • Rambo: First Blood Part II novelization, by David Morrell: Sergeant Tay is the exceptionally cruel commander of the Vietnamese POW Camp that has haunted Rambo for years. Tay subjects hundreds of prisoners to heinous torture for years, enjoying himself by starving them; flaying them; and tying them in excruciating positions in the middle of terrible weather. Tay's favorite torment is the "slime pit", a deep hole full of worms, leeches, and other painful insects that he lowers prisoners all the way into so they are bitten and suffocated by the insects, then pulled out on the cusp of death. The one responsible for Rambo's 6 months of horrible abuse and the many scars he bears, Tay has filled an entire patch of land with the bones of the hundreds of victims who died under his abuse, and when Rambo tries to save multiple POWs from him, Tay tries to torture Rambo to death once again.
  • No Guilt of Bloodshed, by John Baltisberger: Dragan Risti is a fanatical priest who inspires a violent pogrom against the Jews of Ostropol, Ukraine. Fleeing to the Western United States, Risti takes over Brodie, California, where he doesn't even let the Jews there flee, but forces them to remain in their homes and starve to death, lest his men shoot them. Risti enslaves a succubus named Agrat and lets his men prostitute her as they will, while enacting his justice upon anyone he deems sinners. Using demons and men alike, Risti tortures and kills numerous innocents, with plans for an ultimate genocide of the Jews.
  • Dark Carnage:
    • Cortland Kasady was the Dark Messiah of the Spiral Cult, nihilistic cannibals who worshipped dark gods like Knull and Dormammu in the hopes of bringing about the destruction of the universe. In the 17th century, Cortland made a pact with Dormammu, his undead corpse fuelling the growth of a Space-Time Tree through its inherit evil. Once the tree was mature, Cortland would be resurrected and bestowed with a symbiote, leading the similarly-reborn Spiral Cultists to conquer Earth in preparation for Dormammu's return. When Cortland's descendant Cletus Kasady unwittingly derailed this, Cortland—resurrected and empowered with a dark Carnage symbiote of his own by Dormammu—pursued him through time in order to kill him, leading to the Spiral Cultists being slaughtered in the past and the Space-Time Tree being destroyed.
    • Dormammu is a corrupted Faltine trapped in the Dark Dimension by Doctor Strange and the other Sorcerers Supreme, seeking to escape and conquer Earth. As one of many plans to do so, Dormammu usurped the worship of Knull's Spiral Cult and promised its leader, Cortland Kasady, power and the chance to conquer the Earth—while considering him an insignificant lesser being. When Cortland's descendant Cletus disrupted his plans, Dormammu resurrected and empowered Cortland with a Carnage symbiote of his own, ordering him to kill his descendant before he could disrupt the timeline. When Cletus' meddling in the past led to the Spiral Cult being slaughtered and the Space-Time Tree being destroyed before Dormammu could escape, the Faltine decided to torture Cortland for all eternity as punishment for his failure.
  • Vol. 9 issues #2-3: Leonard Hawley is a man with telepathic powers who loves to "raise hell" simply for the fun of it, and hires himself out to villains so he can use his powers to hurt others in imaginative ways. Paid by Zodiac to torment Moon Knight, Hawley takes control of an entire old folks' home and uses the occupants to attack many people through the city. When Moon Knight investigates, Hawley plans to force Moon Knight to fight for his life through the dozens of seniors, knowing Moon Knight will have to cripple or kill them to survive. Challenged by Moon Knight to test his powers on him, Hawley gleefully tries to take control of Moon Knight so he can force the hero to slaughter the entire old folks' home then move onto the rest of the neighborhood.
  • Bendy and the Ink Machine songs:
    • "FIND THE KEYS" & "ART OF DARKNESS": Joseph "Joey" Drew, lacking any of his canonical redeeming qualities, is the megalomaniacal co-creator of the Bendy franchise with his partner Henry Stein. Becoming obsessed with the dark arts, Joey would use the Ink Machine and rituals to transform the studio into a hellish realm of pain and death. He would also horribly morph thousands of people into his "masterpieces", monstrous Ink creatures forced to wander the studio. Joey would then become the Ink Demon to "cheat death itself", engaging in wanton slaughter as he rules over the tortured Ink realm. Ultimately, Joey invites Henry back to the studio, where the numerous entities inside attempt to kill him.
    • "CELLS NO MORE" & "ART OF DARKNESS": Alice Angel, formerly Susie Campbell, is the sadomasochistic egotist who rules the Ink Realm with an iron fist. Obsessed with her own vanity. Alice captures, slaughters, and mutilates countless Boris Clones, all for the sake of perfecting her own image. All the while, she keeps Allison Pendle, the "perfect" version of her, locked up and presumably tortured simply for having the beauty that Susie lacked. Upon Henry's arrival, Alice sends him on various fetch quests, threatening him with brutal slaughter if he doesn't. Eventually, after setting her sights on the Boris Clone that had been following Henry around, she proceeds to sabotage the elevator that the two were on, causing it to crash before kidnapping the Boris Clone from right under Henry's nose. Upon his capture, Alice would proceed to hack up the Boris Clone and turn him into a mindless brute before siccing him after Henry as one final act of cruelty. Lacking her canon counterpart's redeeming traits, Alice proves herself to be by far one of the nastiest creatures to ever wander the Ink Realm.
  • Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island: Lily Carnation is a terrifying creature that lives on an isolated island, who has struck a deal with Baron Omatsuri to keep his "crew" alive forever in exchange for providing Lily with regular entertainment and food. Over the years, Lily and Omatsuri have engineered the shipwrecks of hundreds of crews, all of them devoured by Lily after being put through twisted "games", and their dead likenesses are then used by Lily as puppets to further populate Omatsuri's "crew". Lily gets sadistic joy from its actions, and after failing to consume an entire family including small children, it devours and takes on the forms of Luffy's friends in a twisted mockery while trying to kill him.
  • Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray is a sadistic Killer Doll and vile individual in both his main appearances:
    • "Friends 'til the End" & Revenge of Chucky scarezone: Chucky uses Hollywood Voodoo to curse toys to come to life, leaving them strewn about Universal Studios and making those that come into contact with them suffer from hallucinations and insanity. Chucky constructs his own funhouse and sics the killer toys on people, later freeing them into the streets to attack and mutilate anyone they come across.
    • "Ultimate Kill Count": Chucky, aware that Universal Studios has made a haunt based on him but angered by its fake horror, travels to the attraction itself to make it "authentic". He attacks the scareactors and employees by possessing the various animatronics of himself throughout the attraction, brutally murdering them all with stabbings, burnings, mutilations, and electrocutions, all while laughing and running a "kill count" to tally up his victims in real time.
  • Anime series fanfic Pokémon Reset Bloodlines: Cyrus, leader of Team Galactic, survives his apparent death from canon and achieves his goal of controlling the space-time continuum. To keep his work from being undone, Cyrus methodically tampers with the canon timeline—sabotaging some of Ash's triumphs out of spite—and successfully shatters reality by altering the births of Dialga and Palkia. With his impact effecting even Arceus itself, the old world ceases to be, compelling Ash to relive his journey if he hopes to stop Cyrus from achieving ultimate power and creating his world without spirit.
  • Shadow the Hedgehog Fan Webcomic Flashback (link): Black Doom returns from his previous defeat with a vengeance. Black Doom seeks to finish what he started by once more becoming his true form, Devil Doom, and wiping out all of humankind. Black Doom sics the Black Arms onto Sonic's world, having them once more ravage the planet in search for the Chaos Emeralds, terrorizing presumably countless innocents in the process. Upon regaining a physical form, Black Doom proceeds to infiltrate the Space Colony ARK where he kidnaps and holds Maria hostage for the purposes of blackmailing Shadow into doing his bidding. Mocking Gerald Robotnik for how his mistakes were going to cause the downfall of humanity, Black Doom proves himself to be just as nasty as he is in canon.
  • Giovanna Scaldi was once a simple farmer's daughter in the 17th century until she discovered she possessed substantial psionic powers and evolved into something much worse. Growing bored with the life of a farm girl, Giovanna used her Psychic Powers to brainwash anyone she encountered into thinking that she was a wealthy duchess, purely so Giovanna could entertain herself with an extravagant lifestyle. Later deciding that this was not enough, Giovanna would supplement her psionic abilities with Dark Magic provided by a sorcerer named Uriel, magic which she soon put to use enslaving the entire population of Venice and forcing them to become her personal harem while committing other acts of debauchery purely for her own amusement. Later being stopped by a psychic church hero, Giovanna would have her soul put inside of a porcelain mask which would be lost to time, until her descendant Vanessa DeVore discovered it in the present. Using the Rikti War to coax Vanessa into donning the mask, Giovanna overwhelmed Vanessa's mind with her own, and used Vanessa's rewritten personality as a cypher to once again indulge in her hedonistic depravity.
  • Arakhn is the leader of the Nictus, and she shows herself to be one of the cruelest of them all. Seeking a new home base for her Nictus forces in the war with the other Kheldians opposed to her monstrous ways, Arakhn would come to Earth during the time of World War II, and make contact with the Axis powers. Arakhn would then craft a plan alongside the equally monstrous Requiem to subsume the entirety of planet Earth with Nictus forces. Helping to overthrow the 5th Column in order to gain the resources of the newly formed Council, Arakhn would begin conducting horrific experiments on unwitting members of other villain groups, and even her own soldiers, in order to create more warriors who bore the powers of a Nictus symbiote. Gathering up Shadow Seeds to summon her armies to Earth, Arakhn is thwarted by the heroes of Paragon City before later escaping, vowing to never stop her work until all life on Earth has been fully consumed by the Nictus.
  • Requiem is the leader of the 5th Column, a Nazi villain faction dedicated to world domination, and he proves himself to be a new low even amongst them. Originally starting as a mere lapdog of Benito Mussolini, the man who would become Requiem would soon be merged with a Nictus, and, alongside Arakhn, begin to plot the usurpation of the entirety of planet Earth with Nictus life forms, all the while waging war against the free world. Requiem would continue with his monstrous deeds even after the 5th Column was subsumed by the Council, up until Arakhn's plan was foiled by the heroes of Paragon City. Following this, Requiem abandoned Arakhn and set a plan of his own design into motion. Bringing loyal 5th Column soldiers with him back in time, Requiem made contact with Romulus Augustus of Cimerora, and began working alongside him to conquer the entirety of the timestream with Cimeroran Warriors enhanced by 5th Column science.
  • Good Boy! duology: The Toy Box Demon is a malevolent creature which lives in an old toy box. Corrupting the children whose parents brought the toy box to their house, the demon has them murder their entire families to satisfy his lust for blood. Having already done this to at least two families, the demon tries to repeat the process with the protagonist and his family. Possessing the protagonist's grandmother, the demon tries to urge the protagonist to kill their pets and mother, and if he succeeds, the demon has the grandmother call the police and commands the protagonist to kill as many of them as he can. In the sequel, the demon is revealed to have been corrupting people to act as his servants and lure little children to his hideout, where he orders his servants to slowly drain them of their blood. Forcing the protagonist to kill his servant, simply for his own amusement, the demon then tried to corrupt the protagonist to be his next slave.
  • Samurai Vandalism: Shogun Takahatsu Hitotsubashi is the extremely corrupt ruler of Yamato. Ordering the death of Nue Serizawa and his family out of fear of him being too powerful, the Shogun would then order the Teito Defense Force to raid Mukuro Kamiyashiro's village for obsidian, resulting in the deaths the villagers living there and Mukuro's sister Mei leaving her for Byakuya. Additionally, the Shogun also ordered the burning of Shrines which worshipped no deities, and forms the City Watch after Hozuki's failures to deal with Byakuya. Should Mukuro stay with Hozuki, the Shogun would order the death of his own daughter Sayo Hitotsubashi, not because of her having the Arrow of Apollo within her, but because he can, and after the City Watch captures her alongside Mukuro, the Shogun, upon finding out that Sayo's butler hid her, has the latter mutated into a Daidarabocchi. The Shogun later forces Leo Goldstein into a Sadistic Choice whether to save Mukuro or Sayo, forcing the mutated butler to drop both of them when Leo can't decide. Should Mukuro defect to Byakuya, the Shogun would order his slavers to be arrested to cover up his involvement, and plans to scapegoat Tamano for his actions. Eventually becoming massively paranoid, the Shogun orders the City Watch to kill everyone. Should Mukuro become a Ronin, the Shogun has Hiraga attempt to make him eternally youthful to rule over Yamato forever.

I decided to make a slight modification to TOTK Ganondorf's entry to change Category Traitor to Genocide from the Inside since it's a more fitting and horrifying trope than the former.

  • Tears of the Kingdom: Demon King Ganondorf was once a brutal Gerudo warlord who sought to conquer Hyrule during the kingdom's founding days. Desiring the power of the Zonai Secret Stones, Ganondorf murders Queen Sonia after swearing false fealty to King Rauru, and steals her Secret Stone to transform himself into the Demon King. With his newfound powers, Ganondorf creates an army of demons and monsters to sweep over Hyrule and kill all who would oppose him, including his own people, in the cataclysmic Imprisoning War until he is sealed away for eons by Rauru. In that timespan, Ganondorf's malice manages to leak through the seal, creating Calamity Ganon, a primal force of evil that brought destruction upon Hyrule for countless generations, with the last one bringing the kingdom's collapse. After freeing himself in the present day, Ganondorf resumes his destructive campaign by unleashing monsters, saboteurs, and natural disasters upon the races of Hyrule, promising to finish what he had started. Faced with defeat by Link and the Sages, Ganondorf swallows his Secret Stone to become the Demon Dragon, sacrificing his mind and body for the power to destroy Link and plunge Hyrule into the "eternal night" of destruction and despair. A narcissistic, sociopathic monster of a man, lacking the redeeming or tragic qualities his incarnations often have, Ganondorf believes himself to be superior to everyone else and thus deserves to rule Hyrule as he sees fit.

Also, we're missing the Veran's CM image in the sandbox.

I think that's good Shadao. Looking over Fear, Loathing and Gumbo on the Campaign Trail '72 I notice one particularly long entry:

  • Douglas Coe, known among his followers as "The Great Teacher", is a fundamentalist preacher who seeks to spread his particular brand of Evangelical Christianity across the United States at all costs. Coe first works closely with President Rumsfeld, helping the President turn the country into a kleptocracy and remove political dissidents. When Coe feels that Rumsfeld is no longer politically useful to him, he arranges for the latter's impeachment and arrest. After Pat Robertson wins the 1988 elections, Coe establishes himself as the true authority behind Robertson. When Congress refuses to cooperate with him, Coe launches a coup that leads to destruction of the Capitol and numerous deaths of Washington's political leadership. Under his rule, Coe turns the US into the "Christian States of America", where dissent is outlawed, and non-Evangelical Christians and "degenerates" such as homosexuals or drug addicts are designated for death. In his campaign to bring the rest of the country to heel, Coe has at least a dozen American cities destroyed with nuclear weapons. In order to stop a Cuban invasion of Florida, Coe uses several more nuclear weapons, indifferent to the millions of innocent people killed due to his actions. When the nuclear stockpiles begin to run low, Coe authorizes the use of chemical and biological weapons in his war against the resisting American populace. Believing himself to be the messenger of God, Douglas Coe created one of the most oppressive and violent regimes in American history.

I seem to recall readers commenting how unsubtle the work was in the author playing up their hatred of... um, we'll leave it at "historical figures" so I can empathize it needing some substance but I think we can cut it back a bit.

  • Douglas Coe, "The Great Teacher", is a fundamentalist preacher hellbent on spreading his Evangelical Christianity across the United States at all costs. Working behind President Donald Rumsfeld, Coe helps remove all rivals to their power before having Rumsfeld impeached and arrested after deciding his political use is done. Turning Pat Robinson into his next pawn with Robinson's 1988 victory, Coe continues to remain the true power behind the country and even orders the destruction of the Capitol when Congress refuses to cooperate with Coe's increasingly oppressive regime. Forming the "Christian States of America", Coe begins having political dissidents rounded up and marks non-Evangelical Christians and "degenerates" such as homosexuals and drug addicts for death. To consolidate power over the rest of the country, Coe begins unleashing nuclear weapons on resisting states and continues raining them down on Florida to hold off an invasion from Cuba, switching to chimerical and biological weapons when nuclear stockpiles run low.

Any issues with the change?

This entry in Drakkon's tree on Monster.Power Rangers reads weird to me:

  • Hyperforce: Drakkon beheads one of the hostages to force the Hyperforce Rangers to help him to get the Serpentera from Scorpina. Drakkon also has his men place bombs in their necks to keep them. Later, Drakkon seriously injures one of their members while they try to avoid it.

So my suggested rewrite:

  • Hyperforce: Upon returning to his world, Drakkon beheads one of his hostages to force the Hyperforce Rangers to help him to get Serpentera from Scorpina. Drakkon also has his men place bombs in their necks to keep them to keep them in line. Later, Drakkon seriously injures one of their members while they try to avoid giving Serpentera.

Thoughts?

Oh and also! For Five Nights at Freddy's. It has been 2 weeks sense the release of the last Tales from the Pizzaplex book.

Still waiting for HW 2 or other projects for the Mimic. But to bring us back to Willy himself?

Well the story Dittophobia takes place some time in the past. We learn that William desired to study fear in childeren, and to do this he set up an experiment. He would kidnap a kid, put them in an observation room, then gas them with nightmare gas that made them see robots in the rooms as monsters, evoking the gameplay of FNAF 4. Also when these robots attacked the child it would make them actually feel pain apparently. This is all shown to us through the stories protagonist Rory finding it out. Rory was kidnapped by William 10 years ago when he was 7 years old, going through this night after night sense then.

By this point William was long gone, but he left recordings that would keep Rory here even in the event he was gone. And thus, when the machine causing the gas stops working one day, and Rory, realizing what has been going on, comes close to leaving? The recordings William left behind gaslights Rory into staying at the observatory room. Bringing up his troubled home life from before he was brought here and such. Rory ultimately turns the machines sending the gas back on and returns to his room. And the tape resets, ready to play the next time Rory wandered off too far....

Rory is technically the only confirmed victim of these experiments(Though it is implied there were others. Given Mike draws Nightmare Fredbear in the logbook, the implication I think is that William was experimenting on Mike and Mike having trauma dreams about it years later. But I won't treat that as confirmed as there are other theories) but I think this is still worth adding to his write-up. Would it be alright if I could handle the latest Afton rewrite?

Idm the Fnaf addition.

Aight since I've seen this trilogy back to back, got a candidate for discussion.Nicolai Itchenko, Teddy Rensen. Writeup for reference.

  • The sadistic Nicolai Itchenko, aka Teddy Rensen, is the Dragon-in-Chief for Vladimir Pushkin. A "sociopath with a business card" who oversees the mob's many gruesome trades, including that of human beings, Teddy regularly murders people for little reason at all; he got on the FBI's list by sending them two dead cops with their own testicles shoved in their mouths, then follows this by beating an Irish mobster to death to "send a message" and strangling Alina's friend to death. Teddy has no issue trying to murder almost a dozen of Robert's colleagues and friends purely to bait him out, either.

Right now Nicolai is a nasty bastard and in a standalone film, I'd say he's good but there's one issue, the bad guy from 3, Vincent Quaranta.

Basically Vincent is extorting people in Almante, with him killing innocent people to send messages, such as how he has a wheelchair bound man hung in front of his children and has building's torched. Vincent also eclipses the whole "targeting allies of Robert thing" as he intends to tear the town of Almante apart out of spite and is responsible for terrorist attacks with his drug trade and detonates a car bomb in a public space which injures multiple people badly.

Nicolai? Is the man Pushkin has to deal with problems. His crimes consist of this:

  • Beats the shit out of an irish Mobster in a brutal beatdown
  • Strangles Alina's friend
  • The "got on the FBI's list by sending them two dead cops with their own testicles shoved in their mouths" is him killing two of the three American cops under Pushkin's payroll with the testicles being shoved in their mouths (the film notes their throats were slit)
  • Almost a dozen of Robert's colleagues? There's about 7 of them.

The overseeing of the trafficking? Slavi is way more involved with that with Alina's friend noting how he had a girl's face burnt by battery acid as a message for the other girls to not fuck up and keeps said girl as a reminder. Resource's isn't exactly a thing I can say helps Nicolai either, he's the clean-up man for a kingpin with over a billion in profits and is able to get intel from multiple crime families.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Oh and it's implied he killed his foster parents.

All right, so Ravok recently did an EP for Lavos from Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross and it's been unanimously upvoted by now. As such, I'm thinking of redoing the entry for Man on the Internet's version of Lavos from Chrono Trigger: The Musical.

For reference, here's what the entry for it currently says:

  • Lavos, unlike in the game where he's an ineffable Eldritch Abomination, here is both sapient and actively malevolent. Lavos is an alien who caused a mass extinction event when he arrived on Earth, and began farming humans to devour them and all other life. On the Day of Lavos, he surfaces, causing an earthquake as he does so and upon getting there, he launches a "Rain of Spears" attack to carpet bomb the planet. Hellbent on destroying all life, Lavos proves himself the worst of all the musical's monsters.

I remember this one in particular being up before the project was even completed, so it misses things like Lavos' famous killing of Crono at the Ocean Palace. Likewise, I feel the language used here, while accurate, is a tad surface-level and on the generic side, so I want to expand on that. As of now, however, I need to finish my rewatch of the full musical to ensure the info and discussion I eventually contribute is up to snuff.

I originally considered waiting until Ravok's writeup was finished so that we could be on the same page, but the info from Chrono Cross doesn't apply to MOTI!Lavos anyways (and MOTI has stated in an FAQ document that he dislikes the story of Cross regardless) so there's nothing really stopping me. I'll be back soon with my talking points and a pre-emptive writeup.

Vincent goes crazy because of Marcos death, he outright cuts off a guys hand for telling him to stop operations when he's mourning so there's some definite care there than say The Martinez Brothers.

He also has a somewhat pitiful end with how pathetic his demise is?

Also tbh the standard isn't too bad... its just that I think Vincent blows Nicolai out of proportion. Slavi has a unique depravity for his tier with him specifically being the abusive pimp.

[up][up]Fine with an expansion.

[up]Oh, right, duh. I forgot we have Slavi up already.

EDIT: I'm fine with it not being on the franchise page, but can I at least have a note there saying that Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins can be found on the main film page? It's nagging me.

Got a cut of my own to bring up, with thanks to jjjj for alerting me:

  • Cargo (2013): Vic Carter, from the 2017 remake, is a greedy and possessive man who wants to take advantage of the Zombie Apocalypse to gather resources that will be priceless if and when humanity prospers again. Having left all of his co-workers to die to save his own skin, Vic forces the wife of one of his friends to become his slave and makes her pretend to be his own wife while he uses innocent people, even children, to lure zombies out in troves so he can kill them all and loot the corpses. After Andy saves Thoomi, one of Vic's child hostages, Vic tracks the man down and tries to kill him, his infant daughter, and Thoomi in a spiteful rage.

He was proposed by AgeOfTropeEmpire a few years back, and while I know Age IRL and helped him with a big chunk of his candidates, this was one I didn't participate in. Vic is a nasty bastard and easily passes the standard, but his final moments are, IMO, too ambiguous. After he's been bitten by a zombie and mortally wounded, Vic finally tracks down Andy and his infant daughter, and though he seems poised to kill the baby in revenge, Vic starts openly weeping and ultimately his hands slip away from the baby, letting Andy grab the girl and leave Vic to die.

The effortpost, in fairness, addressed this and argued it could just be that he's scared of dying and lost the will/ability to carry out his murder threat, but the film ultimately doesn't present it one way or the other and I get the feeling it was moreso going for an Alas, Poor Villain moment and Vic is genuinely letting the baby go in a conscious choice—not just him being too weak/depressed to finish the job. It's a tougher, ambiguous case and Vic is a nasty Jerkass otherwise, but I think it's a bit too questionable as-is for him to pass. Have to say Cut.

Tonight I dine on monkey soup.

Cut Vic, idk about Nikolai if only because he's still a part of the human trafficking which may put him over the standard even if it's a shared crime with others.
