Let's sing together!
A line of computer software with the capability of producing vocals, these characters have subsequently burst into international stardom as the de facto Virtual Celebritys of the world. While the characters themselves are thought to be mere fiction, humans who enter the realm of the SEKAI discover that they are very much alive, and together they work to turn "Untitled" songs into reality.
    General
  • Advertised Extra: They often take second billing to the original cast of the game, despite being advertised as playing bigger roles.
  • Alternate Self: Each SEKAI variation of the Virtual Singers exists as this to their original selves. While they are technically different characters, the Virtual Singers consider themselves to be a single person, and refer to themselves collectively as "I", "Us", and "Me". This is exemplified in the 2022 April Fools' Day Area Conversations, where they refer to their alternate selves as "I" note  even when addressing them directly.
  • Ambiguously Human: The Virtual Singers look human enough, but they have distinctly robotic voices and unnaturally pale skin that's shaded with grayish tones.
  • Ambiguous Situation: The story has yet to fully explain how they're able to exist as popular mascots and the Physical Gods they're implied to be.
  • Big Good: All they wish for is the happiness and prosperity of the children they're tasked with watching over.
  • Blank Slate: Averted Trope, as the game takes a similar approach to Project DIVA Xs module Auras in how it portrays the Virtual Singers. Not only do the "original" Virtual Singers have personalities, but other versions of them appear across the SEKAI as reflections of the feelings of the characters that created each SEKAI. This is very similar to X's modules' Auras, which also determined Virtual Singers' personalities while also depicting the "Classic" modules as their default personalities.
  • Cast Herd: By default, they have the most characters to a unit, at six. In SEKAI, starting with On This Holy Night, I Sing's introduction of MEIKO to the Wonderland SEKAI, the other Virtual Singers began to join the existing SEKAI:
    • As of Doll Festival at the Tenma's, which brings Luka to the Wonderland SEKAI, Wonderlands x Showtime has the first SEKAI to introduce all six Virtual Singers.
    • As of Putting Feelings Into Words, which introduces Len, Leo/need has the second SEKAI to have all of the Virtual Singers officially introduced.
    • As of MORE MORE Making Christmas, which introduces KAITO, MORE MORE JUMP! has the third SEKAI to have every Virtual Singer properly introduced.
    • As of Same Dreams, Same Colors, which gives Luka a proper introduction to the group, Vivid BAD SQUAD has the fourth SEKAI to introduce every Virtual Singer.
    • As of Immiscible Discord, which has KAITO's first appearance, Nightcord at 25:00 has the fifth and final SEKAI to feature all of the Virtual Singers.
  • Color-Coded Characters: Keeping in line with the original Piapro characters, the Virtual Singers in this game retain their original associated color:
    • Miku: Turquoise
    • Rin: Orange
    • Len: Yellow
    • Luka: Pink
    • MEIKO: Red
    • KAITO: Blue
  • Comic Books Are Real: Similarly to our world, the Virtual Singers in Colorful Stage! are virtual celebrities that the Original Generation became familiar with through the media that features them such as online videos, CDs, video games, and concerts. However, it's quickly shown that the Virtual Singers are very much alive in the world of SEKAI, pocket dimensions born from the feelings of the cast that are implied to exist within the characters' technology.
  • The Empath: They're all able to sense people's feelings, both through music and through how things manifest in SEKAI.
  • Flat Character: While they aren't quite blank slates, the original Virtual Singers don't have much characterization beyond their very basic traits, especially compared to their various SEKAI versions, which have much more colorful personalities and, in some cases, Hidden Depths. It was probably intentional on the writers' part, as they likely wanted to emphasize that the Virtual Singers are just flat characters that can become anything depending on one's interpretation.
  • Flower Motifs:
    • They're each depicted with flowers in their 2022 anniversary cards.
      • Miku: Sunflowers, Gentians, Hibiscus, and Chinese Milk Vetch
      • Rin & Len: Pansies and Lady's Slippers
      • Luka: Miscari, Sagebrush Buttercups, and Tulbaghia
      • MEIKO: Pentas and Moss Roses
      • KAITO: Hyacinthus and Snowflakes
    • Their limited cards and unlockable outfits from the Yearning for Spring, a Moment in the Night Gacha all have a cherry blossom motif, representing the introduction of new feelings and the Virtual Singers' collective desire to watch over the original cast. Since cherry blossom trees don't exist in any of the SEKAI with the exception of "???" SEKAI, the trees are represented in different ways depending on the card:
      • Nightcord at 25:00 Miku: While cherry blossoms don't exist in Empty SEKAI, Miku's trained card has her sitting in one without petals while the mirrored image of the tree in the water beneath it blossoms.
      • Leo/need Luka: The Virtual Singers and the members of Leo/need draw a cherry blossom tree on the blackboard.
      • Vivid BAD SQUAD Len: They are represented in Len's trained art by a tree graffitied on a wall with vibrant pink letters representing the petals.
      • Vivid BAD SQUAD MEIKO: Cherry blossoms are represented in MEIKO's untrained card through a cherry blossom-flavored latte created for her cafe's spring menu.
      • Wonderlands x Showtime KAITO: Cherry blossom petals are represented by falling red and pink balloons of various shapes, while KAITO stands in the middle, representing the tree itself.
      • MORE MORE JUMP! Rin: She wears a cherry blossom-themed outfit in her 2☆ card.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Len and KAITO's final Trust Rank title, "Not Losing to the Songstress", suggests that they have a friendly rivalry with the female Virtual Singers.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: As of the game's third anniversary, all of the Virtual Singers' SEKAI counterparts are given new outfits, but only Miku and the primary Virtual Singer from each SEKAI reflects this. The others' new outfits are shown in their untrained card art, but their corresponding Live 2D models, 3D models and map chibis still wear their original debut outfits.
  • Hologram: As the SEKAI versions of the Virtual Singers cannot physically exist outside of their respective SEKAI, they occasionally project themselves out of the human characters' phones in order to see them in the real world, or to experience things outside of their SEKAI.
  • In-Series Nickname: The female Virtual Singers are sometimes collectively referred to as the "Divas", likely as a reference to Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA and Miku's original character bio, which Project DIVA's title also originated from. Colorful Stage! translates this as "Songstress", likely to avoid the more negative connotations of the word "Diva".
  • Interpretative Character: With the exception of the original Virtual Singers, who exist independently of the main units, each SEKAI variant of the Virtual Singers is shaped by the SEKAI they appear in, usually mirroring (or contrasting) the traits and struggles of each character connected to the SEKAI. Because of this, their personalities tend to be quite different across SEKAI. For example, Miku appears in MORE MORE JUMP!'s Stage SEKAI as a sparkling idol who is perpetually smiling, while in Street SEKAI she is a street performer with a personality akin to an Aloof Big Sister.
    • Humorously referenced in the follow-up gag comic for the Scramble Fan Festival! event, where Ichika, Kohane, Nene, and Minori all give their thoughts on Miku, only for each of them to realize that their interpretation of Miku only corresponds to their specific SEKAI's iteration of the character.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Outside of Virtual Lives and non-canon trained cards, the Virtual Singers are exclusively depicted wearing their default outfits. This is carried over into the third anniversary, when their base outfits aren't updated but they get new art with different poses. The initial versions of their SEKAI incarnations all received new outfits for the third anniversary, however.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: The SEKAI incarnations of the Virtual Singers aren't completely in the know about how SEKAI works, and can only speculate on the things they aren't entirely sure of. It's implied that their base forms know a lot more, but even they have to use a lot of guesswork since they try not to interfere with their counterparts' roles in their respective SEKAI.
  • The Mentor: The primary role of the Virtual Singers across the SEKAI is to help the group they're assigned to discover their true feelings.
  • Me's a Crowd:
    • Each Virtual Singer has six versions, five of which are assigned to a specific SEKAI to assist the group in realizing their true feelings while the originals engage in their own activities and occasionally check in on their progress. Despite not interacting with each other most of the time, they are all aware of each other's existence and believe they are a collective individual, referring to themselves as "I."
    • According to the Virtual Singer FES stories, there are even more versions of them out there in the world besides the five that the player sees.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: They're all able to sense when the human characters show up in their respective SEKAI.
  • Never the Selves Shall Meet: Averted Trope. Nothing bad happens when the Virtual Singers from other SEKAI catch a quick glimpse of each other in Connected Through SEKAI's Cherry Blossoms, or when the base Virtual Singers briefly get to interact with one of their SEKAI counterparts for the first time in Your Song Resounding in SEKAI!. The dubiously canon April Fools' Day Area Conversations also have the Virtual Singers casually interacting with the alternate versions of themselves without consequence.
  • Not Allowed to Grow Up:
    • Discussed in Len's initial card story, where Akito and Toya talk about how he'll likely always physically and mentally be a 14-year-old due to his nature as a Virtual Singer.
    • All of the Virtual Singers' "birthdays" are only ever referred to as "anniversaries", celebrating the release of their software rather than them growing older like the original cast.
  • Out of Focus: The Virtual Singers play second fiddle to the original cast in stories and songs and have fewer event appearances, rarely any focus events outside of special occasions (and the focus character has yet to be anyone except Miku), and fewer lines in songs, among other things. From the second anniversary onward, Colorful Palette appears to have attempted to be more equitable with song line distribution, though they frequently receive less than the original characters.
  • Physical God: Miku's FES story implies that she, and by extention the other Virtual Singers, are this. They are entities that exist in a SEKAI between the other SEKAI that the original characters can visit, watching over them as they interact with their various forms and tending to a wish tree that contains the collective feelings of each unit. The main characters can only be summoned to this SEKAI when they are feeling the same thing at the same time, and they forget about the encounter when they are sent back to their world, only having a vague notion of having been somewhere else.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Rin, Len, and MEIKO are the Red Oni, while Miku, Luka, and KAITO are the Blue Oni.
  • Robo Speak: The Virtual Singers have distinctly robotic-sounding voices, which, along with their unnaturally pale skin, helps to differentiate them from the human cast. The human characters don't seem to notice or point this out, although one side story had An do an impression of KAITO's speaking voice, right down to imitating his monotonous laugh.
  • Satellite Character: Their main role in SEKAI is to guide the original characters and help them discover their true feelings. While they do things outside of this, Virtual Singer-centric activities are usually only expanded upon in the side stories. Downplayed in the case of the original VIRTUAL SINGERS, who, with the exception of Miku, aren't directly associated with the original cast and expand on their own group dynamic when they show up. The original Virtual Singers also receive their FES stories that focus on themselves rather than the SEKAI original characters.
  • Synthetic Voice Actor: All of the Virtual Singers have their speech generated using their NT software, rather than by actual voice actors. Their voice providers are even credited as "Original Character Voice" rather than "Character Vocal" as with the original characters.
  • True Companions: Across SEKAI, with the exception of Empty SEKAI, the group is portrayed as being very close, acting almost like a family or a group of good friends. They also tend to be very close to their respective units, especially the characters whose feelings they represent.
  • Two Guys to a Team: Per the norm for the Crypton Virtual Singers, KAITO and Len are the only male characters in their six-person unit, and all three of their Trust Rank titles note  nod at this. Exaggerated when they appear in MORE MORE JUMP!, Leo/need, and Nightcord at 25:00's SEKAI, where the main groups are all-female on top of the female Virtual Singers already being present there. That said, the story doesn't put emphasis on them being the only guys.
  • Vague Age:
    • MEIKO and KAITO who, unlike the other Virtual Singers, have no officially stated age. However, Luka considers MEIKO a Cool Big Sis, implying that she's at least 21.
    • All of the Virtual Singers' ages appear to fluctuate depending on what the SEKAI's setting is, and are never outright stated. For example, Luka is officially described as being 20 years old but appears as a high school student in Leo/need's School SEKAI. Her age within the SEKAI is never outright stated, but she is considered a senpai to Miku and the members of Leo/need.
  • Virtual Celebrity: Unlike most games that feature them, the role the Virtual Singers serve in the game's "real world" is similar to ours, as they are featured in concerts, video games, and CDs, among other things. Advertisements featuring the Virtual Singers can be seen in the setting as well. However, the players and characters quickly learn that the Virtual Singers are more than just popular mascots.
  • Voice Grunting: The Virtual Singers aren't fully voiced outside of event stories and Virtual Lives, so their speech is usually generated like this.

    Hatsune Miku
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miku_3rd_anniversary_0.png
If you discover your true feelings in the Sekai, then those feelings will become songs!
Original CV: Saki Fujita

The world's most popular voice synthesizer program, she appears before humans who enter the SEKAI as their guide, hoping to turn their thoughts and emotions into music.

Miku existed in every SEKAI from the start, but is considered the main Virtual Singer of the Empty SEKAI.

For tropes that apply to her in real life and other fictional depictions of her, see Hatsune Miku.

  • Big Good: She's the leader of the Virtual Singers and seems to be behind the SEKAI. Her existence is so foundationally integral to the concept of the SEKAI that one of the few actual rules regarding the existence of any realized SEKAI is that it must contain a version of Miku in it to begin with.
  • Costume Evolution: Unlike Project DIVA, which keeps her original iconic V2 design, her outfit in this game resembles a blend of her V3 and V4X designs, marked by her bright white top and the intricate synthesizer-themed lights on her skirt and sleeves.
  • Foil: Her SEKAI variants are foils to each other. They all share her passion for music and desire to help the human characters find their true feelings, but express themselves differently:
    • In the School SEKAI, she's very hard-working and earnest, pushing herself to be the ideal mentor for Leo/need, while also being insecure and easily embarrassed.
    • In the Stage SEKAI, she's perky, helpful, and loves performing more than anything. Her personality is the closest to default Miku's, but she leans more into her role as an Idol Singer, making her come off as more of a Girly Girl.
    • In the Street SEKAI, she's a cool Aloof Big Sister who harbors a lot of drive and passion beneath her calm exterior.
    • In the Wonderland SEKAI, she's Fun Personified - a perpetually hyperactive Kiddie Kid who is always up for anything and comes off as a bit unhinged.
    • In the Empty SEKAI, she's a quiet and waif-like Emotionless Girl who cares very deeply about others.
  • The Generic Girl: She has the least defined personality of the Virtual Singers, not having many stand-out traits beyond being a cheerful Nice Girl.
  • Genki Girl: She gives the impression of an upbeat, cheerful girl. This is mainly expressed in the cutscenes where she talks to the player directly, though she also retains this personality in Virtual Lives.
  • The Heart: She's said to be the best arbiter of Rin and Len's arguments.
  • Humble Hero: Despite being the center of everything that happens in the world of Colorful Stage!, she would rather show her support and gratitude to everyone else rather than be praised for her hard work, which becomes the focus of her 2022 anniversary story.
  • The Leader: All but stated to be the leader of the Virtual Singer group, as the other Virtual Singers defer responsibilities to her and she is in charge of handling all the SEKAI-related business. She is also treated as the face of the group in advertising.
  • Like Brother and Sister: According to their first Trust Rank title, she has this kind of relationship with Len, though the players never get to see them act like this until Len's appearance in Empty SEKAI, where she behaves like a Cool Big Sis to him.
  • Mascot: Of Colorful Stage! as a whole, sharing this role with Ichika.
  • Necessary Drawback: She is the only Virtual Singer in the game whose alternate appearances are treated like separate characters beyond just a card boost perspective, due in part to her significantly altered look across SEKAI. The drawback to this is that unique accessories are locked to the SEKAI version it's tied to, while the other versions of Miku are stuck with the generic version of that accessory like every other character in the game. For example, despite the only difference between them being their hair length and outfits, Original Miku won't be able to use unique accessories created for Stage SEKAI Miku. Interestingly, this does not apply to Miku's 4-star outfits; if an outfit is unlocked for one version of Miku, all versions of Miku will be able to wear it without it needing to be crafted in the shop.
  • Nice Girl: Always cheerful and friendly, and just wants to be connected to everyone through song. She dedicates her 2022 anniversary show to expressing her gratitude to the audience and the other Virtual Singers rather than focusing on herself.
  • Out of Focus: Almost all of her SEKAI counterparts received this in the second half of the game's first year, likely to make up for how prominent she was in the first half. This trope was averted past the game's first anniversary, as all of her versions began to show up again.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Tends to get the most spotlight of the Virtual Singers due to her popularity.
    • As of the game's second anniversary, she has the most cards, cover songs, and original songs (commissioned and preexisting), of any character in the game.
    • She's also unhindered when it comes to getting commissioned songs, as she's the only Virtual Singer that can get multiple songs per event cycle while the other Virtual Singers are limited to one if they aren't kicked from the rotation due to the limited number of groups they can sing with. In fact, the very first commissioned song cycle consisted solely of songs featuring Miku.
    • In some SEKAI, it's explicitly stated in the story that Virtual Singers other than Miku are in charge, i.e., Leo/need's Luka is the Lead Bassist of the Virtual Singer's band, Vivid BAD SQUAD's MEIKO is the owner of Crase Cafe, and Wonderlands x Showtime's KAITO is the leader of the Virtual Singers' troupe. In these SEKAI, Miku is a band member, employee, and troupe member, respectively, but her prominence can make it seem as though she is supposed to be the central figure of these SEKAI as well.
  • Sunny Sunflower Disposition: She's depicted with sunflowers on her first anniversary card, and she's generally cheerful and good-natured.
  • Tender Tears:
    • She tears up after hearing the other Virtual Singers' messages for her in her 2022 anniversary card story.
    • In "At Least Let Me", she cries over the locked box of feelings in the SEKAI fragment, saddened that there are people who bottle their feelings up and stash them away.
  • You Don't Look Like You: Similarly to the Project DIVA franchise, Miku is given several different appearances that look quite unlike her default design, though in this game the appearance she takes on depends on which SEKAI she appears in. Miku's Empty SEKAI appearance looks the least like her base form. During the 1st-anniversary event story, the leaders of each respective SEKAI even lampshade this when they first see her base form.

    Kagamine Rin
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rin_3rd_anniversary_9.png
Everyone's here!
Original CV: Asami Shimoda
A voice synthesizer with the personality of a young, energetic girl. She is one of the two "Kagamine" voice banks, although the true nature of their relationship remains a mystery.

She is considered the main Virtual Singer of the Stage SEKAI, where she appears as an idol alongside Miku.

For tropes that apply to her in real life and other fictional depictions of her, see the Crypton Future Media page.
  • Ambiguously Related: The nature of her and Len's relationship is never made clear in any of the SEKAI, making it ambiguous as to whether they're meant to be seen as Half-Identical Twins, Opposite-Sex Clones, or Identical Strangers who may or may not be lovers. Minori says that their relationship changes depending on the song and setting, making any of these options a possibility. This is reflected in their dynamics across SEKAI, having a sibling-esque relationship in School SEKAI while having Ship Tease in Street SEKAI.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Along with Len, she's this to the other Virtual Singers, and also to the units across the various SEKAI, frequently being treated like Everyone's Baby Sister.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: While not as prominent as in the Street SEKAI, she can sometimes act demanding and bratty when she doesn't get her way.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Shows shades of this in some of her home screen dialogue, such as wanting to breathe cotton candy, believing that Christmas lights are made of stars, and thinking that "hunting strawberries" note  means shooting them.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Miku describes her as someone who sometimes gets ahead of herself and consequently makes mistakes. She was almost late for Len's 2021 anniversary show due to struggling to wrap his gift, and she got so excited about writing setlist ideas for her anniversary concert that she ended up writing them on the desk after she ran out of page space.
  • The Cutie: Described as such in her "Origin Style" story.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: She was so excited about her 2021 anniversary concert that she had dreams about the performance, which helped her to decide on the setlist for her half of the concert.
  • Foil: Her SEKAI variants are foils to each other. While most of them share her bubbly and energetic personality, they express themselves differently:
    • In the Stage SEKAI, she's well-meaning but clumsy. She's sensitive about making mistakes, but always bounces back with optimism.
    • In the Street SEKAI, she's headstrong and temperamental, often clashing with Len, KAITO and Luka when she doesn't get her way.
    • In the Wonderland SEKAI, she's an innocent and perpetually cheerful Kiddie Kid who loves to play around and make friends.
    • Her Empty SEKAI incarnation is the most different, lacking the energy and friendly nature exhibited by the other versions of Rin. Instead, she acts cold and uninterested, trying to hide how much she cares.
    • In the School SEKAI, she's fun-loving and very friendly, but can be careless and a bit pushy about getting what she wants.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The Foolish Maybe-Sibling to Len's Responsible Maybe-Sibling.
    • She disrupts Len's song and forgets her microphone in his initial card story, forcing him to share his.
    • While she and Len can both be demanding and immature at times, she is more content to take advantage of Miku and KAITO facilitating it, needing to be prompted by Len and MEIKO to reflect and try to improve her behavior.
  • Friend to All Children: In "A Bridge To Mend Your Bond", she comforts a Delicate and Sickly little boy who'd had a fight with his best friend, and helps steer him in the right direction to reconcile with her.
  • Genki Girl: As expected from a 14-year-old girl.
  • Half-Identical Twins: Physically, Rin and Len would be indistinguishable if it weren't for their hairstyles and outfits.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: The shortest of the Virtual Singers, she looks especially small when placed next to KAITO, the tallest of the group.
  • Kiddie Kid: She gets excited over candy, Still Believes in Santa, and otherwise acts and is treated more like a child or preteen than a teenager.
  • Never Bareheaded: Wears hairclips and bowed headbands in all of her SEKAI appearances. This also carries over into her unlockable outfits and trained illustrations, as she always has a headband, hat, or hairclips on.
  • Ship Tease: Some of her dialogue could be taken as this towards Len, such as playfully telling the viewer that she made heart-shaped chocolate for someone on Valentine's Day without saying who it's for. On White Day, Len gives her a gift, implying that the chocolate she made had been for him.
  • Signature Hair Decs: Every variation of Rin in the game has a headband with a bow and hair clips by default. Also crosses over to Never Bareheaded, since she's never seen without one or the other, even in her trained illustrations. If a card illustration has her wearing a hat instead of a bow she will still have hairpins, and if she doesn't have hair clips, she will still have a headband.
  • Single-Minded Twins: She and Len have very similar personalities, with the main differences being some of their tastes based on gender stereotypes. This was likely intentional, as they are meant to be seen as mirror images. They do have some subtle differences between them though, with Rin being the more naive, emotional, and childish of the two, whereas Len is more confident and savvy.
  • Sweet Tooth: She loves candy.
  • Tender Tears: She picked up on Vivid BAD SQUAD's feelings in the game's third Star Festival show, in which they sang a bittersweet song dedicated to Nagi, which moved her so much that she wanted to respond in kind with a similar song, but wasn't able to perform it herself due to it making her cry.
  • Those Two Guys: She and Len are nearly inseparable, with one of their Trust Rank titles fittingly being "Always Together".
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: She's energetic and mischievous, but has a mostly feminine style of dress and a romantic streak, often getting excited over Valentine's Day.
  • Trickster Twins: She and Len enjoy playing pranks, and are described as mischievous.
  • Twin Switch: She and Len attempt to do this for April Fools' Day, but nobody falls for it.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: While their arguments have never been shown outside of a gag comic for their anniversary, she and Len apparently argue enough that Miku often has to act as a peacemaker between them, but they remain extremely close.

    Kagamine Len
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/len_3rd_anniversary_4.png
We should all sing together right away.
Original CV: Asami Shimoda

A voice synthesizer with the personality of a young boy and Rin's male counterpart, although the true nature of their bond is unknown.

He is considered one of the main Virtual Singers of the Street SEKAI, where he appears alongside Miku and MEIKO as a DJ.

For tropes that apply to him in real life and other fictional depictions of him, see the Crypton Future Media page.

  • Ambiguously Related: The nature of his and Rin's relationship is never made clear in any of the SEKAI, making it ambiguous as to whether they're meant to be seen as Half-Identical Twins, Opposite-Sex Clones, or Identical Strangers who may or may not be lovers. Minori says their relationship changes depending on the song and setting, making any of these options a possibility. This is reflected in their dynamics across SEKAI, having a sibling-esque relationship in School SEKAI while having Ship Tease in Street SEKAI.
  • Anime Hair: He has spiky hair that stands straight up, humorously being dubbed "banana hair" by the player base.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Along with Rin, he's this to the other Virtual Singers, and to Vivid BAD SQUAD, Wonderlands x Showtime and Nightcord at 25:00, being treated like Everyone's Baby Brother in their respective SEKAI.
  • Bad "Bad Acting": He tries to pretend to sleep as an April Fools' Day joke:
Len: Mrgh... I'm sleeping right now. I'm sleeping really hard, so... I won't respond even if you talk to me... C'mon, Rin! I already told you I'm sleeping. Just let me lie to you!
  • Bratty Half-Pint: While not as prominent as in the Street SEKAI, he can sometimes be demanding and bratty when he doesn't get his way, and he also tends to be cocky.
  • Foil: His SEKAI variants are foils of each other. While most of them share his confidence and boyish love of cool things, they express themselves differently:
    • In the Street SEKAI, he's a cocky Bratty Half-Pint who's obsessed with being seen as manly and mature despite his childish behavior.
    • In the Wonderland SEKAI, he's an innocent and perpetually cheerful Kiddie Kid who loves to learn about the things that interest him.
    • In the Stage SEKAI, he's a Princely Young Man who strives to maintain his calm, collected and dignified image.
    • In the School SEKAI, he's fairly laid-back, but hard-working and mature, often playing the Straight Man to the more childish Rin.
    • His Empty SEKAI counterpart is the most different, lacking his typical confidence and instead being a very timid, innocent and child-like Shrinking Violet.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The Responsible Maybe-Sibling to Rin's Foolish Maybe-Sibling.
    • He ends up sharing his microphone with Rin when she forgets hers in his initial card story, and he often corrects some of the misconceptions she has in some of her home screen dialogue.
    • While he and Rin can both be demanding and immature at times, he is more likely to reflect on his actions and admit that he needs to work on his behavior than Rin, who's more content to take advantage of how tolerant the other Virtual Singers are of their antics.
  • Friend to All Children: In "My Cheer For You", he comforts a little girl who'd had a fight with her best friend, and helps steer her in the right direction to reconcile with him.
  • Genki Boy: Has an energetic and playful personality, similar to Rin.
  • Genre Savvy: In a sense. While most of the other Virtual Singers typically fall for it when the others try to surprise them on their anniversaries, Len anticipates it, knowing that they almost always do this to each other. It usually takes distracting him by getting him to perform to successfully surprise him.
  • Half-Identical Twins: Physically, he and Rin would be indistinguishable if it weren't for their hair and outfits.
  • Hypocritical Humor: He laughs at Rin and calls her a glutton when she gushes about chocolate and candy, only for KAITO to call him out on this, having seen him eat all of the Valentine's chocolate he'd received in one go, much to his embarrassment.
  • Kiddie Kid: He gets excited over candy, Still Believes in Santa, and otherwise acts and is treated more like a child or preteen than a teenager.
  • Like Brother and Sister: According to their first Trust Rank title, he has this kind of relationship with Miku, though the players didn't actually see this sort of dynamic between them until his Empty SEKAI variant showed up.
  • Manly Man and Sensitive Guy: The Manly Man to KAITO's Sensitive Guy, with his use of the rougher masculine pronoun "ore" and generally more cocky and brash behavior.
  • Out of Focus: He was shafted during the game's first year story-wise, though in a slightly different way than KAITO. Compared to KAITO being in one SEKAI at launch, Len was in two (Street and Wonderland), giving him more opportunities for diverse cards and story appearances. However, he took longer than KAITO to appear in a new SEKAI outside of his base ones because of this, taking him 11 months versus KAITO's 6.
  • Sibling Seniority Squabble: In their 2020 anniversary comic, Len uses the fact that he's taller than Rin as leverage to get the larger slice of cake when it's cut unevenly, but it's presented in a similar way to these kinds of arguments.
  • Single-Minded Twins: He and Rin have very similar personalities, with the main differences between them being some of their tastes are based on gender stereotypes. This was likely intentional, as they are meant to be seen as mirror images. They do have some subtle differences between them though, with Len being the more precocious and confident of the two, whereas Rin is more naive and childish.
  • Sweet Tooth: He gets excited for Halloween and Valentine's Day solely for the candy.
  • Those Two Guys:
    • He and Rin are nearly inseparable, with one of their Trust Rank titles fittingly being "Always Together".
    • He's often hanging around KAITO when he's not with Rin, due to being the two male members of the group.
  • Trickster Twins: He and Rin enjoy playing pranks, and are described as mischievous.
  • Tsundere: When Rin brings up a sweet message she found among her White Day gifts, Len gets embarrassed and claims that it was KAITO's idea.
  • Twin Switch: He and Rin attempt to do this for April Fools' Day, but nobody falls for it.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: While their arguments have never been shown outside of a gag comic for their anniversary, he and Rin apparently argue enough that Miku often has to act as a peacemaker between them, but they remain extremely close.

This is a world created by your feelings.
Original CV: Yuu Asakawa

A voice synthesizer with the personality of a young woman.

She is considered the main Virtual Singer of the School SEKAI, where she appears as a student alongside Miku.

For tropes that apply to her in real life and other fictional depictions of her, see the Crypton Future Media page.

  • Accidental Truth: She tries to demonstrate how to fake being asleep to Len, only to end up falling asleep for real.
  • Bilingual Bonus: She often talks about English words in the Japanese version of her home screen dialogue as a Call-Back to her being the first bilingual Virtual Singer.
  • Composite Character: While her character design is largely based on her V2 box art, she has the same violet eyes as her V4X design, a trait that is better emphasized in her Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA counterpart's V4X module.
  • Cool Big Sis: In contrast to MEIKO's energetic and playful brand of Cool Big Sis, Luka is calm and composed, but equally reliable and considerate of the younger Virtual Singers.
  • Dull Surprise: Her response to Len surprising her is so subdued that he doesn't realize he'd managed to surprise her at all until she tells him. He vows to come up with a better surprise that'll get more of a reaction from her.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Miku says she'd like to see more of her spacey side for this reason.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: The most feminine of the Virtual Singers, and also implied to be the one who does the most cooking and baking, according to some of her home screen comments.
  • Foil: Her SEKAI variants are foils to each other. While most of them share her easy-going and calm personality, they express themselves differently:
    • In the School SEKAI, she's very calm and dependable, encompassing all of the positive attributes of the ideal senpai.
    • In the Stage SEKAI, she's very light-hearted and playful, often teasing the others and otherwise acting like One of the Kids.
    • In the Wonderland SEKAI, she's a Lazy Bum who spends most of her time sleeping, and has a very sweet but spacy personality.
    • In the Empty SEKAI, she's The Gadfly who loves to ruffle everyone's feathers and has a meaner sense of humor than her other counterparts, but ultimately still cares. She believes her main goal is to push the members of Nightcord at 25:00 towards their goals, whether they're ready or not, contrasting this SEKAI's MEIKO's view on how things should be done.
    • In the Street SEKAI, she's a cheerful and laid-back Womanchild who enjoys Wandering the Earth and avoids taking on any responsibilities.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite her elegant and mature presentation, she has an underlying love of mischief, to the point where she invites Len to play pranks on her.
  • Informed Flaw: According to Miku, she can be absent-minded at times, but she's so far always shown to be graceful, poised and grounded. Her incarnations in the Street and Wonderland SEKAI do display this trait, however.
  • Mellow Fellow: Very laid-back and calm. This is reflected in her first Trust Rank title with KAITO, who is similarly mellow when the Kagamines aren't messing with him. In her 2022 anniversary story, she admits that she's like this because she knows the other Virtual Singers have her back, allowing her to take things at her own pace.
  • Ms. Fanservice: While not played for Fanservice to the same degree as MEIKO, she still has a large bust, and she's received at least one card that shows it off..
  • Nice Girl: Very gentle and patient. Her Star Festival wish is for everyone else's wishes to come true, as opposed to making a wish for herself.
  • Not So Above It All: Miku and Rin ask her for help coming up with an April Fools' Day prank during the game's second year. She "teaches" them dog and cat "language", leading them, and later Len, to communicate exclusively through barks and meows for the day. The following year, she gives Len pointers on how to fake sleep, and the year after that she makes him think that April Fool's Day has been moved forward a day due to the weather and gets Miku to pretend to be her, imitating the Kagamines' Twin Switch prank.
  • Not So Stoic: In her anniversary comic, Miku, Rin, and MEIKO team up to try and make her blush by showering her with compliments. It backfires when Luka's calm and composed reaction makes them flustered instead... But Luka's then shown turning away, blushing and fanning herself.
  • Pink Is Feminine: Has bright pink hair and is easily the most feminine of the Virtual Singers.
  • Ship Tease: One of her fall comments, combined with one of KAITO's, implies that they both find MEIKO beautiful; Luka talks about how beautiful the autumn leaves are, while KAITO comments that he and Luka had just been talking about how autumn leaves remind them of MEIKO.
  • Signature Headgear: Downplayed compared to Rin's bow, but Luka wears some kind of hairband in every SEKAI (except Street SEKAI), in the same vein as her default headphones.
  • Team Chef: Some home screen dialogue implies that she and MEIKO are primarily the ones who do the cooking and baking for special occasions such as anniversaries, Christmas and Halloween.
  • Those Two Guys: Being the more mature ladies of the group, she interacts with MEIKO more than anyone else.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The Girly Girl to MEIKO's Tomboy.

     MEIKO
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/meiko_3rd_anniversary_6.png
Nice! That's how it should be!
Original CV: Meiko Haigou

A female virtual singer known for her brown bob hairstyle, her red top, and her mini-skirt. She possesses an extraordinary solid singing voice along with the gentleness and warmth of a lady.

She is considered one of the main Virtual Singers of the Street SEKAI, where she appears alongside Miku and Len as the owner of the Crase Cafe.

For tropes that apply to her in real life and other fictional depictions of her, see the Crypton Future Media page.

  • Big-Breast Pride: Has the largest bust of any female character in the cast and she shakes her chest at the audience in the choreography for the full Virtual Singer version of "Senbonzakura".
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Her well-endowed figure is the biggest part of her appeal In-Universe.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret:
    • While she managed to keep it under wraps for a while, she ended up talking to the Kagamines about her secret involvement in their pranks on KAITO while he was standing right there.
    • She later offers to secretly help KAITO should he ever decide to play pranks himself, which Luka points out is no longer a secret since she said it in front of everybody else.
    • She tells everyone about Rin bursting into tears over a sad song in the game's third Star Festival show, much to her embarrassment.
  • Cool Big Sis: The other Virtual Singers describe her as an energetic, powerful, and dependable big sister figure who's game for anything.
  • Costume Evolution: Her outfit is largely based on her V3 design, albeit with a differently-styled collar, evoking her V1 design.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Her brown hair matches her eyes.
  • Exact Words: She catches Miku on camera with messy hair after dance practice, much to the latter's embarrassment. When Miku points out that she could edit that part out before she uploads it, MEIKO agrees that she could... but she doesn't because she thought Miku was cute when she was embarrassed.
  • Foil: Her SEKAI variants are foils to each other. While most of them retain her strong will and a blend of maturity and playfulness, they express themselves differently:
    • In the Street SEKAI, she's a responsible Team Mom who is always willing to give advice and provide for everyone.
    • In the Wonderland SEKAI, she's very creative and easily able to come up with wild ideas. She's also Hot-Blooded and a little impatient, with Super-Strength to match her powerful personality.
    • In the School SEKAI, she's very confident and laid-back, with a playful streak that enjoys messing with Miku. She also acts something like a Team Mom despite being implied to be a teenager.
    • Her Empty SEKAI counterpart is the most different, lacking her typical sociability and playful streak. Instead, she's a completely straight-laced Defrosting Ice Queen who prefers to keep her distance, often refusing to get involved in what the others are doing.
    • In the Stage SEKAI, she's a plucky and energetic performer who specializes in hyping a crowd, but is surprisingly a bit of a scaredy-cat.
  • Genki Girl: One of the more energetic Virtual Singers, along with Rin and Len.
  • Hot-Blooded: Her strength and energy are often commented upon by the other Virtual Singers.
  • Inconsistent Spelling: Her name is officially written as "MEIKO" in all caps in reference to her original software package. This is carried over to her profile and text-box titles. However, when written as it's spoken by the characters, it's usually written in Katakana as "メイコ".
  • Informed Attractiveness: She's treated as the most beautiful member of the cast aside from Shizuku, despite the art style making pretty much everyone look attractive. Three of her Trust Rank titles describe her as "sexy" or "beautiful", her characterization is that of a Proud Beauty, and during the game's first year, a majority of her 4✰ cards were "Cute" attribute with the only two not being that attribute being her first Leo/need card and the Evilious Chronicles collaboration card which were "Happy" and "Mysterious", respectively. For the latter, the character being portrayed in that card may not be the Virtual Singer MEIKO outside of it being counted as her from a gameplay perspective.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: She's known to be very quick to act once she has a plan of action in mind.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: The strong-willed masculine girl to KAITO's passive feminine boy.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Perhaps the character that gets used the most in the fanservice department, likely in part due to being one of the few characters that visibly looks like an adult in a cast of high school students and having the largest bust of any character. A few of her Trust Rank titles even describe her as "sexy".
  • Mythology Gag: One of her Trust Rank titles with KAITO is "The First Singers", referencing back to the fact that they were the first Japanese Vocaloids to be released.
  • Nice Girl: The other Virtual Singers talk about how much she does for them outside of their shows in her anniversary stories, and KAITO describes her as being very thoughtful.
  • One of the Kids: It's implied that she's an adult, but she enjoys playing around with Rin and Len, encouraging them to play pranks on KAITO and secretly aiding them in their antics.
  • Only One Name: Unlike the newer Virtual Singers, she and KAITO don't have a given surname.
  • Out of Focus: Along with KAITO, she has the fewest original songs in the game. As of the game's first anniversary, she only has "Nostalogic", "On the Rocks" and "Blessings". She also has only one 3DMV as of the 1.5 anniversary, "IDSMILE". She finally received her second one with the unit song "Starry Sky Melody".
    • She's also only been featured in one non-commissioned SEKAI cover, which was MORE MORE JUMP's cover of her song "Nostalogic".
  • Proud Beauty: She has a lot of self-confidence in her appearance, as shown in her 2021 anniversary story, where she tells commenters that are praising her looks to keep 'em coming, and flaunts her figure in response to KAITO expressing concern that the audience might get the wrong idea when she talks about how much she's "grown".
  • Ship Tease: in KAITO's 2022 anniversary side story, his anniversary show starts with a romantic duet between them, which Shizuku comments suits them very well.
  • Statuesque Stunner: The tallest of the female cast, second only to Shizuku, and she's also described as a beauty.
  • Team Chef: Some home screen dialogue implies that she and Luka are primarily the ones who do the cooking and baking for special occasions such as anniversaries, Christmas and Halloween.
  • Those Two Guys: With KAITO and Luka, frequently interacting with both of them.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The Tomboy to Luka's Girly Girl.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: A more mature version of this trope. She's boisterous and Hot-Blooded, but can also be elegant and lady-like.

     KAITO
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kaito_3rd_anniversary_4.png
Alright, is everyone ready to make the audience smile?
Original CV: Naoto Fuuga

A male virtual singer known for his short, slightly curled blue hair and long blue scarf. His cool-natured and gentle singing voice can range from thick, masculine low tone to sustained high notes.

He is considered the main Virtual Singer of the Wonderland SEKAI, where he appears alongside Miku as the troupe leader.

For tropes that apply to him in real life and other fictional depictions of him, see the Crypton Future Media page.

  • Big Brother Mentor: He's sometimes shown being this to the Kagamines, primarily Len, such as helping him to bake something for White Day.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Borrowing from his Project Diva appearance, he keeps his thick, triangular eyebrows and is the only character in the main cast with eyebrows like this.
  • Butt-Monkey: It's light compared to some of his more extreme fanon portrayals, but still present:
    • He tends to end up being the target of Rin and Len's mischief, such as them hijacking his event in his initial side story, or hiding the Halloween candy he got for them just so they could play tricks on him. It's later revealed that MEIKO was secretly involved in a lot of the pranks they play on him too.
    • Some dialogue implies that the Kagamines tend to cause him trouble outside of their pranks, such as both of them wanting to climb on his shoulders to hang their Star Festival wishes on the highest bamboo branches at the same time, setting up giant Christmas stockings for him to fill, and generally dragging him around to do what they want, something they acknowledge in his 2022 anniversary story and vow to try to be less demanding of him.
  • Cool Big Bro: The reliable big brother of the group, and he's often shown doing things for the resident Babies of the Bunch Rin and Len, such as sharing his scarf with them, hanging their Star Festival wishes on the highest bamboo branches, and playing the role of Santa Claus for them at Christmas.
  • Color Motif: Outside of blue being his image color, the Original Generation characters he's primarily associated with are also associated with either blue (Toya, Ichika, Haruka) or purple (Rui, Mafuyu).
  • Composite Character: He's the most likely the Virtual Singer to reflect the feelings of more than one original character across SEKAI:
    • Leo/need: Ichika and Shiho
    • MORE MORE JUMP!: Minori and Haruka
    • Vivid BAD SQUAD: Akito and Toya
    • Wonderlands x Showtime: Rui and Tsukasa
  • Costume Evolution: His outfit is largely based on his V3 design, with a couple of elements of his V1 design sprinkled in, such as the cuffs and arrow design on his sleeves. He also has the same large, triangular eyebrows as his Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA counterpart and is the only Virtual Singer to have this aspect of their design carried over.
  • Curtains Match the Window: His hair and eyes are both a vibrant shade of blue.
  • Endearingly Dorky: MEIKO claims that he's sometimes clueless and absent-minded, but she finds it endearing. Luka also found his "Klepto KYTO" persona endearing specifically because he botched it by accidentally leaving his mic on while talking to himself backstage.
  • Extreme Doormat: While he tries to keep the Kagamines in line, he isn't very assertive and tends to cave easily, as shown when he attempts to keep Len from getting involved in other activities when the others are finishing his party preparations, but immediately relents when Len insists. He also doesn't put up much resistance to being the primary target of their pranks.
  • Foil: His SEKAI variants are foils to each other. While most of them retain his Big Brother Mentor role and gentle nature, they express themselves differently:
  • The Heart: According to Luka, he has the unique ability to ease tensions when there's a conflict with his presence alone, owing to his kind and caring nature.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Being the tallest of the Virtual Singers, Miku and Rin look especially small when they're next to him.
  • Humble Hero: He's notably the only Virtual Singer to be surprised when the audience cheers for him, or when the others remembered his anniversary.
  • Iconic Item: His scarf, as discussed by Tsukasa and Emu in his initial card story. Despite this, unlike Rin's trademark bow, none of his SEKAI forms so far wear a scarf and the item that carries over to other SEKAI more often tends to be his headset. Perhaps justified in that it would likely be difficult to incorporate his scarf into the default fashions of the SEKAI.
    • His scarf returns for his 2022 anniversary card, though it's solid rather than the usual transparent blue muffler he's depicted wearing by default. He also wears a plaid scarf on his 2023 anniversary card.
  • Inconsistent Spelling: His name is officially written as "KAITO" in all caps in reference to his original software package. This is carried over to his profile and text-box titles. However, when written as it's spoken by the characters, it's usually written in Katakana as "カイト". In "A Song To Soothe Your Frustration", he starts to introduce himself to Nobuyuki as "カイト", before correcting himself to "KAITO".
  • Innocently Insensitive: In MEIKO's 2021 anniversary story, he expresses concern over the audience potentially getting the wrong idea when MEIKO says she wants to show them how much she's "grown", earning him some mild ire from both MEIKO and Luka.
  • Large Ham: Not usually, but he becomes one when he plays "Klepto KYTO", a card-carrying Gentleman Thief, for Len's 2022 anniversary story.
  • Like Brother and Sister: He acts like an older brother to Rin and Len, and in his 2022 anniversary side story, Haruka comments that he genuinely looks like their brother. Downplayed in the English translation, where she instead says he looks like their cousin or distant relative.
  • Manly Man and Sensitive Guy: The Sensitive Guy to Len's Manly Man, with his use of the humbler masculine pronoun "boku" and generally more gentle and passive personality.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: The passive feminine boy to MEIKO's strong-willed masculine girl.
  • Mellow Fellow: While he is more expressive and easily flustered than Luka, he is generally calm and laid-back. This is reflected in him and Luka being referred to as the "Calm Duo" in their first Trust Rank title.
  • Mr. Fanservice: While an extremely tame example, he's quite possibly the closest the game has gotten to a male example of this trope. Since launch, KAITO has received numerous cards that have emphasized his hips and legs, as seen here. As well, his Vivid BAD SQUAD incarnation sings a cover of Ifuudoudou, a song that is explicitly about sex, alongside Akito and Toya.
  • Mythology Gag: One of his Trust Rank titles with MEIKO is "The First Singers", referencing back to the fact that they were the first Crypton Vocaloids to be released.
  • Nice Guy: The other Virtual Singers constantly describe him as being very kind and caring, and he's often shown to be very accommodating towards them and the audience.
  • Noodle Incident: Rin and Len played some kind of prank on him after the events of the game's first Halloween show without him realizing it, and he still hadn't noticed by the time of the game's first anniversary almost a year later. What they did is never revealed; the conversation ends with MEIKO telling a flustered KAITO that she'd tell him later.
  • Oblivious to Love: He never acknowledges Kuromi's obvious crush on him during the Sanrio collab.
  • Older Than He Looks: Though he doesn't have a confirmed age, he's generally implied to be a young adult in most of the SEKAI (aside from the School SEKAI), or at least older than the original cast. However, his facial features and overall shape are more in-line with the teenaged boys than any of the adult men, who are generally shown to have more defined features and wider chins.
  • One Head Taller: A platonic, same-sex example. He's frequently paired up with Len during Virtual Live performances and he tends to look enormous next to him due to their 22-centimeter height difference.
  • Only One Name: Unlike the newer Virtual Singers, he and MEIKO don't have a given surname.
  • Out of Focus: Over the course of the game, KAITO shares the title of one of the shafted Virtual Singers with MEIKO in terms of song content, if not the most shafted by the games third anniversary.
    • In terms of non-commissioned song covers, KAITO has not only become the Virtual Singer with the fewest cover features in the game, but also the Virtual Singer who has sung with the fewest groups, as prior to the third anniversary, he had only received cover songs with Vivid BAD SQUAD, and only ones that featured Akito and Toya. He wouldn't get a full group cover with a non-Vivid BAD SQUAD group until the third anniversary, singing a cover of 40meterP's "Kiss the Villain" with MORE MORE JUMP!
    • He also has made the least amount of appearances in 3DMV’S over the games 3 year lifespan, with his appearance in the aforementioned MORE MORE JUMP! cover killing two birds with one stone in terms of making an attempt to catch him up by having it be a cover song with a new group and a 3DMV.
    • KAITO was also the slowest Virtual Singer to be added to the SEKAI, with his final appearance in Empty SEKAI being added mere months before the games third anniversary, where characters would move up a grade and begin new chapters in their lives.
  • Performance Anxiety: While he enjoys singing as much as the other Virtual Singers, he's the only one who's expressed anxiety before performances.
  • Princely Young Man: Downplayed, though his general demeanor and mannerisms call to mind the image of a prince. His default gesture in Virtual Lives is a graceful bow to the audience.
  • The Reliable One: The other Virtual Singers admit that they tend to rely on him without thinking. Exemplified in his 2021 anniversary comic, titled "Reliable Big Brother".
  • Ship Tease:
    • One of his fall comments, combined with one of Luka's implies that they both find MEIKO beautiful; Luka talks about how beautiful autumn leaves are, while KAITO comments that he and Luka had just been talking about how autumn leaves remind them of MEIKO.
    • In his 2022 anniversary side story, his anniversary show starts with a romantic duet between him and MEIKO, which Shizuku comments suits them very well.
  • Team Dad: Primarily the one who tries to keep the Kagamines in check, acting as a sort of parental figure to them.
  • Tender Tears: He's moved to tears by Miku dedicating her anniversary show to showing her appreciation for the others in her 2022 anniversary card story.
  • That Makes Me Feel Angry: He tries this as an April Fools' Day joke. Nobody believes him when he claims to be angry, but he does manage to convince MEIKO and Miku that he's sad with some Crocodile Tears.
  • Those Two Guys:
    • Or "those three guys", as he's often with the Kagamines, though Len more often than Rin.
    • He is also frequently paired off with MEIKO in SEKAI, likely as a reference to the two being the very first Japanese Vocaloids.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Ice cream, as always, and it gets brought up far more often than the other Virtual Singers':
    • He brings it up in some of his home screen comments.
    • In the art for his 2023 anniversary card, while every other character is depicted with a variety of gifts, every one of his gifts is a different kind of rather fancy-looking ice cream, with the sole exception being a scarf.
    • He's also notably the only Virtual Singer whose favorite food is frequently mentioned across SEKAI, with nearly every version of him implying a fondness for ice cream, including his Empty SEKAI counterpart.
