So, this next character is an American, and her design should reflect that. Okay, blonde hair... blue eyes... Well above 190 cm (6 feet 3 inches) tall... huge cans...

Hmm. Is there some Fanservice potential here?

This is when the answer to that question is "yes." In short, this is the stereotypical height and bust of Western (though not necessarily American) women in an East Asian setting/work who's played for Fanservice. Other than physical factors, there are cultural reasons for this too. ^note People of European descent are considered to be more sexually liberated, more open, friendly, and touchy in general, less adverse to physical exertion or to getting their hands dirty, and prone to be more outdoorsy and wear more revealing outfits (which is compounded by how in Western societies, tanning is desirable; Asians, especially women, tend to avoid tanning like the plague and may wrap up even if they don't have problems showing skin to others). This ironically clashes with the extremely prevalent Asian beauty ideal of pale skin, but the amount of tanning depending on the person, the Gorgeous Gaijin is likely to be paler than the Asians anyway. They are also more likely to be portrayed as a Hard-Drinking Party Girl, due to the West having a more prominent alcohol culture — and genetically, many East Asians have the Alcohol flush reaction, which discourages them from drinking alcohol. Really, the great cultural divide between East and West provides endless reasons for someone from one side to find someone from the other attractive.

The male equivalent shows up in shoujo, josei, and yaoi, where if there's an American guy around, he will be hot, blond, and have a great bod to go with his freakish height and lack of social norms (like kissing people goodbye^note which Americans never actually do, by the way, that's mostly a French thing and being shirtless in public).

Related to Phenotype Stereotype.^note However, actual Americans, Canadians, New Zealanders, and Australians are far more iffy on the idea of their nationality equating to an ethnicity, given their shared pride as nations of immigrants from all over the world. Though, that doesn't stop them from still stereotyping the typical European Ms. Fanservice as tall, light haired and eyed and buxom as per this trope. • Assassination Classroom: Irina Jelavić is a busty blonde from Serbia, and she's used her looks to turn heads as much as snap them. The nickname she's given by her students, "Bitch-sensei", is even based on how sexy she naturally comes off to others.^note "Bitch" in this case is a loanword that means "slut" colloquially, but eventually turned into an Insult of Endearment from Class E.
• Case Closed: Jodie Starling is an American teacher and FBI agent. Aside from suggestive outfit, she's quite flirty.
• Campione!: Erica Blandelli is Italian, blonde and blue-eyed, and while she's not exactly very tall, she has a very curvaceous body. When she transfers to Godou's class, her immediate declaration of "having already promised her future" to Godou quickly draws the ire of his male classmates, thinking him a lucky bastard for scoring such a beautiful girl.
• The Case Files of Jeweler Richard has Richard Ranasinghe de Vulpian: British, blond, blue-eyed, and stunningly gorgeous.
• Darker than Black:
  • November 11 is tall, blond, blue-eyed, British. He is seen lounging around naked in one episode and again in a manga omake.
  • Brita is a blonde, blue-eyed American. She lacks concern for nudity, though because of sociopathy.
  • Madame Oreille is blonde and presumably American because she works for the CIA. She seems to spend an inordinate amount of time in swimsuits that show off her cleavage or getting a massage while covered in oil.
• Di Gi Charat Specials: In Ohanami Special, the cast travels to the US and meets up with a full-blown 10-year-old Dejiko fanboy, complete with blonde hair, Japanese with a weird accent ("De'jeeko'-chan!") and stars & stripes-colored Dejiko-cosplay.
• Digimon Adventure 02: Wallace/Willis from The Movie is a blond American with blue eyes (though they change to green over the course of the movie). Lampshaded in the dubbed version where Daisuke/Davis comments "Yeah, yeah, back off there, blondie" after Wallace/Willis complements Miyako/Yolei.
• Grenadier: Everyone assumes that Rushuna is foreigner based on her golden hair, her gun, and her massive pair of boobs. The hair actually winds up getting her into trouble on one occasion.
• High School D×D:
  • Subverted with Rias. Her tall height, large chest, and brilliant scarlet hair lead people to assume she's Scandinavian. Her homeland is actually in her last name, Gremory.
  • Rosswiese meanwhile is actually Scandinavian, being a Valkyrie from the region's mythology, and though a more Reluctant Fanservice Girl, Issei certainly appreciates her body's buxom proportions.
  • Played straight with Asia and Xenovia, who are Italian. While the latter does have blue hair more associated with Japanese anime girls instead of white Europeans, Xenovia still has a gorgeous body and crosses the line between Innocent Fanservice Girl and Shameless Fanservice Girl in her desire to have sex with the The Hero in order to get pregnant with child rearing being her alternate means of serving God after she realized God Is Dead after he pulled a Heroic Sacrifice. Their Christian(ish) faith is used to make both seem more exotic to the Japanese Issei.
• Hitomi-chan Is Shy with Strangers: Angelica is a blonde American (though her surname indicates she's half-Japanese) who's the only one who can compare with Hitomi in height and bust size. Most of the fanservice is focused on Hitomi herself, though.
• Jubei-chan: The Russian-Japanese Freesia immediately makes all of Jubei's classmates who'd previously been in love with her fall for Freesia instead. She turns into a buxom Statuesque Stunner when she uses the Spade Eyepatch.
• Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple: Rachel "Castor" Stanley. On top of being scantily clad and mightily endowed, she's also proven to be a gigantic Attention Whore who would do practically anything (especially strip) for a glance in her direction.
• Kuroko's Basketball: Alex Garcia is tall, blonde, blue-eyed, and busty, with a propensity for hanging out naked while at home, as well as kissing other girls and kids. She's also a former WNBA player and taught Taiga while he was growing up in the U.S.
• The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service: Reina Gorn is an American entomologist who is blonde, has an enormous bust, and wanders round Tokyo wearing a cowboy hat, bikini top, and tiny denim shorts.
• Love Hina: Subverted. Keitaro returns from an academic trip abroad. Naru (after spending much of his trip worried about all the girls that he was bound to encounter) finds a blond hair on his clothes and takes him to task for philandering. As it turns out, it was a hair from a mysteriously blonde gorilla.
• Lucky Star: Patricia "Patty" Martin is an American and has the second largest breast size of the entire cast.
• Lupin III: The Pursuit of Harimao's Treasure: Diana has striking pale blue eyes, a pronounced British accent, a tall, nubile figure, and a beautiful pair of legs. Naturally, Lupin can't help himself when he sees her and spends almost as much of the film trying to win her affections as he does searching for the fabled treasure.
• Lyrical Nanoha: Alisa is American and officially gets the second largest bust size amongst Nanoha, Fate, Hayate, Suzuka, and her after the Time Skip.
• Midori Days: Lucy Winradd is the prerequisite Foreign Exchange Student who is joining Seiji's class. Seiji immediately recognizes her as an American because of her blonde hair and Stars and Stripes patterned panties.
• Miss Machiko: Judy from Episode 23 is a friend of Machiko and a beautiful blonde American girl. She even puts on a cheerleader show.
• Neon Genesis Evangelion:
  • Asuka Langley Sohryu is a half-Japanese half-German redhead, The Ace, and not ashamed to show off her good looks (well, to Kaji, any other man gets called a pervert and runs a risk of being pummeled). The original show has several moments to show her off in things like Daisy Dukes and the artbooks had a field day with her. The Rebuild movies (in which she was slightly renamed as "Asuka Langley Shikinami") has her wearing a "test plugsuit" that was even more fanservicey than her regular outfit in a couple of scenes.
  • Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0: Mari Illustrious Makinami is half-Japanese, half-British (although this is All There in the Manual material) and her primary sources of fanservice are being the most stacked of the Evangelion pilots and having No Sense of Personal Space. She's not above shaming Asuka in the chest department either.
• Omamori Himari: Lizlet L. Chelsie is English and has the biggest bust of the main cast. This frequently gets lampshaded by the other girls of Yuuto's harem.
• RahXephon: Cathy McMahon is tall, blonde, busty, freckled, boisterous, wears a cowboy hat with her uniform. She wears a very skimpy bikini in the Beach Episode.
• Sakura-chan to Amane-kun: Alice Hinamiya is half-British, blonde, and hangs out with Amane enough that Sakura is slightly jealous.
• Soul Eater: Liz and Patty are quite attractive, and Patty in particular is prone to having her chest bounce. Note that Soul Eater doesn't take place in Japan, but most of the rest of the main seven characters are ethnically Japanese.
• Variable Geo: Erina Goldsmith is the lone American entrant competing in the VG tournament. She's blonde and busty, and she and her team parade around in Playboy Bunny costumes. She also keeps a lighter tucked conspicuously in her ample cleavage, which she uses as a makeshift flamethrower when she fights.
• Why the Hell Are You Here, Teacher!?: Strawberry blonde Francesca Homura is the only non-Japanese teacher in the series (though her surname indicates at least some Japanese ancestry), and she's just as much a Ms. Fanservice as all the other teachers.
• Yakitate!! Japan: Monica is a blonde and blue-eyed American girl. She wears an American flag bikini to distract her opponent in the baking duel. Her opponent responds to this by stripping down to his loincloth.
• You're My Pet:
  • Emma has the bust, but is red-haired instead of blonde and is the same height as her Japanese co-workers.
  • Hugh is blond, extremely tall, and a Chick Magnet.
• Yuria 100 Shiki: Lucy Mk II is a blonde, blue-eyed American sexbot, modeled after generations of playmates, who behaves like a nymphomaniac.
• Zatch Bell!: Lady Susan is an extreme parody of this trope. How extreme? Well, for starters, her non-bowdlerized (code?)name is Big Boing.

Films — Live-Action

• Subverted in Mercenaries from Hong Kong, when the team's funnyman and The Casanova, Curry, managed to hook up with a beautiful blonde Caucasian nightclub hostess, showing off his flirting skills to his teammates (as the title states, every named character is from Hong Kong). Later on Curry and another one of the mercs are smoking in the men's room, Curry boasting how he's an expert lady-killer when the blonde hostess suddenly enters the same urinal, ignoring Curry, and taking a leak in one of the urinals standing up. Cue Curry reacting in horror.
• The Ring: When it was announced that there would be a Hollywood version of the film, the Japanese made a few joke comics about "American Sadako". In one of the comics, she would be blonde and have big boobs. It eventually spawned a full-blown meme where Sadako, the black-haired child version of Samara, and the blonde and large-breasted American Samara were all separate characters.
• Virgins of the Seven Seas revolves around a group of five Caucasian women kidnapped by Chinese pirates during the Ming Dynasty, where after being sold off in a brothel they started learning skills in martial arts from a heroic swordsman in order to escape. According to the brothel, the five of them are more valuable because "Caucasian women fetches a higher price among clients".

Video Games

• Advanced Variable Geo: Erina "Erinrin" Goldsmith is a busty blonde American bombshell, who runs her own casino and works in a bunny costume.
• Darkstalkers:
  • Morrigan is Scottish (named in fact for a Celtic deity) and is literally sex appeal personified in her capacity as a succubus — a female demon believed to have sex with sleeping men.
  • Felicia is an American in a Stripperiffic "outfit" (her only coverage is strategically placed fur), with the largest bust and hips of the female cast. She spends most of the series as a Vegas showgirl (or some facsimile thereof), though she eventually becomes a nun at the end of the third game and runs an orphanage much like her foster mother. While Felicia adopts a much more modest style of dress to match the occupational change, some post-Darkstalkers 3 appearances such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2 have her tossing off the robes and habit when it's time to fight.
• Dead or Alive:
  • Tina Armstrong is a tall, blonde and very well-endowed American professional wrestler from Texas and has a cowgirl-themed costume in all the games.
  • Helena Douglas is tall, blonde, French and oozes sex appeal.
  • Hitomi is half-German, buxom and even gets a German barmaid costume.
  • Christie is a statuesque, platinum-haired English woman with gaping cleavage. Besides Kasumi's clone, she is the first un-hacked character who has appeared nude.
  • Mila, introduced in the fifth game, is a female boxer and MMA fighter from Spain who bears a striking resemblance to Gina Carano. She can kick your ass and has muscles in all the right places.
• Present in Fatal Fury and its various offshoots, particularly The King of Fighters.
  • All of the Western women sport the largest busts; Shermie (French, 92 cm), Elizabeth (French, 90 cm), King (French and blonde, 86 cm), Angel (Mexican, 92 cm), and Blue Mary (American and blonde, 86 then 88 cm). There is a bit of a twist here, however, as while the Japanese Mai is officially smaller than most of the aforementioned women (85 cm in the earlier KOF games, then bumped up to 87 cm in 2003 and again to 89 cm in NeoGeo Battle Coliseum), she's typically drawn to be on par or even more voluptuous than them, owing to her status as SNK's premier sex symbol as well as her bust being modeled after Fumie Hosokawa (a famous Japanese idol who measured 94 cm in The '90s).
  • In KOF: Maximum Impact, Lien Neville (British, blonde, busty) is given the largest in-game chest, but no official measurements are provided. Downplayed in the sequel, where Lien is still undoubtedly large, but more or less equal in size to resident Ms. Fanservice Mai.
  • When first introduced, Blue Mary filled this role in Fatal Fury 3 and the first Real Bout Fatal Fury, with her bust being more emphasized than Mai's. In Garou: Mark of the Wolves, without any of them present, B. Jenet (British and blonde) is both Ms. Fanservice and this trope.
  • The guys aren't any slouches either: Series Mascot Terry Bogard is blond, blue-eyed, and one of the biggest Hunks in the series. His Midnight Bliss form in the SNK vs. Capcom series and his female form in SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy appropriately translate his beefy prettyboy looks to a busty, leggy girl in cutoffs.
• KanColle: Pretty much every non-Japanese ship that isn't a destroyer. We'll save some time and only go over a few.
  • Iowa is tall, blonde, busty, blue-eyed, speaks in (actually pretty poor) English, is very upbeat and outgoing, and wears rather a revealing American flag-based outfit. Her design is based on pin-up girls found in U.S. recruitment and propaganda posters, as well as in war bond drives. Her design is something of a standout case, as since she was the first U.S. Navy ship to be added into the game, the creators felt they had to go big. Other USN non-DD/DE ships would follow the trend of being tall, blue-eyed, blonde, busty, curvy, or any four of the five.
  • Warspite, the game's first Royal Navy ship, is blonde and attractive, and has long legs (though her chest is average-sized), and generally has the appearance and personality of a young queen. like Iowa, she also frequently uses English, though hers is much better, to the point of sounding like a native Englishwoman.
  • The Regia Marina ships, Littorio and Roma, are both tall, have light brown and black hair respectively, have large chests, and are decked out in Italian flag-themed colors.^note Though the former loses this upon remodeling.
• Neptunia: Being the CPU of the foreign nation Leanbox, Vert is, of course, tall, blue-eyed, blonde-haired, and openly proud of having the biggest rack of the cast.
• Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan: Anna Lindhurst is American, the tallest of all six cheer girls, has blonde hair, and the largest breasts.
• Persona 5: Deconstructed. While Ann is only a quarter-white, the game still puts emphasis on her foreign traits (blonde hair and blue eyes), as well as her ability to speak fluent English. She's the biggest Dude Magnet among the girls and the most comfortable with her sex appeal, owing to her work as an aspiring model. However, she gets an unhealthy amount of Slut-Shaming for her looks, she draws all the wrong kind of attention from the Creepy Gym Coach Kamoshida, and people in general think of her as a Brainless Beauty and an Alpha Bitch, when she's actually rather lonely.
• Rival Schools: Tiffany Lords is a blonde, blue-eyed American girl with large bouncing breasts. She wears a revealing, Stars and Stripes-patterned cheerleading outfit and bright red boxing gloves.
• Samurai Shodown: Charlotte Christine de Colde is French, tall, blonde, and definitely looks like the sexier female compared to the other, cuter female, the demure Ainu priestess, Nakoruru.
• Soul Series: English aristocrat Ivy is easily the most fanservicey character in her home series, and combines a dominatrix outfit that shows off her enormous triple-G bust with an icy, no-nonsense (though undoubtedly sexy) Evil Brit personality. She's also far taller than any other woman in the series, standing at an amazonian height of just under 6 feet.
• Street Fighter:
  • British bombshell Cammy White was the first non-Asian female in the seminal series and features the blonde hair and blue eyes associated with this trope, as well as a selection of thong-leotard costumes that always emphasize her toned butt.
  • Rose is Italian and is designed to be the series' mature, sexy woman. She stands at a statuesque 5'10'', with long, toned legs, an impressive bust, and permanently pouty lips.
  • Crimson Viper is American, quite tall herself (5'9"), and has the largest chest among any female in the series (98 cm).
• Virtua Fighter:
  • Sarah Bryant is American and was designed to be the sexier, icier Western foil to cute-as-a-button Pai.
  • Vanessa adds a rare non-Caucasian example, as she's ostensibly black, and as well as being amongst the tallest women in the series, her army jacket is fully unzipped, revealing only a skimpy bra holding her ample breasts in place.

Visual Novels

• Katawa Shoujo: Lilly Satou is half-Scottish, the tallest of all the girls, and has wavy blonde hair. Hisao comments on her foreign features, notably her large bust, long legs, and height (she's as tall as him) as all being attractive to him. Unusually, she's a reserved Yamato Nadeshiko, although she surprisingly takes the lead in the bedroom, in fitting the stereotype of Westerners being more sexually aggressive.
• Rondo Duo: The Gratuitous English-spouting Riko has blonde hair, green eyes, and the biggest, bounciest bust in the cast.
• Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair has Sonia Nevermind, a blonde, blue-eyed, princess from the fictitious European country of Novoselic. She stands at 5'7" and has a bust size of 83 cm, making her taller than many of the other females in the series.

Other

• There's the strange cultural phenomenon of New Horizons, a school textbook aimed at introducing Japanese schoolchildren to English. The linking theme is that of an American teacher in Japan called Ellen Baker, who appears in many illustrations as a cheerful pretty smiling blonde. Against all normal expectations, the textbook — and very especially Ellen Baker — went viral. Fan illustrations take this particular trope way off the scale with regard to Ellen Baker, to the point where the artist asked people to cool it with the Rule 34 or the character would likely be pulled by the book.
