HOLD IT DOWN

Nearly five months after the debut of ILUNA, the seventh wave of Nijisanji EN, XSOLEIL, was revealed. Like OBSYDIA to LazuLight and Noctyx to Luxiem, XSOLEIL is a counterpart to ILUNA. They debuted in December 2022, a few days before Yugo Asuma's graduation.

XSOLEIL

    In general
  • Absurdly Powerful Student Council: The seventh EN wave, XSOLEIL, is comprised of the six (now, five) student council members of the XSOLEIL Institute of Infinity. Outside of managing the school, they are tasked to work together to prevent the apocalyptic future from happening and save people around the world.
  • Alliterative Name: All three male members have them: Doppio Dropscythe (DD), Hex Haywire (HH), and Ver Vermillion (VV).
  • Breaking Old Trends: Unlike previous waves, the trailer of XSOLEIL didn't come with (big) descriptions of the characters (e.g. "Mermaid" for LazuLight's Finana, "Cat" for Ethyria's Millie, "Psychic" for Noctyx's Uki or "Cheerful Guy" for ILUNA's Kyo), and the song used for the trailer's background was the vocal version of their debut song instead of the instrumental version like the others.
  • Foil: They have this dynamic with ILUNA, the Institute of Mystics. XSOLEIL is the dark wave with the connection to the sun, they are all humans who happen to have super powers, and they're a student council with established roles and rankings. ILUNA is the light wave with the connection to the moon, they are largely comprised of people of supernatural origins, and they're just a random group of students with no hierarchy between them.
  • Gender-Equal Ensemble: XSOLEIL is the second mix-gender wave of the English branch, and they used to be three females and three males. The balance shifted to the boys' favor after Zaion's termination.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: They are a group of students, who got super powers, with the task to save the world in less than a year. However, they are financially irresponsible, many of them have chaotic personalities, and they also lost their treasurer (who is also the one that brought most of the debts).
  • Ship Tease: Within XSOLEIL, Ver and Kotoka collab with each other the most, with their dynamic bordering between Vitriolic Best Buds and Belligerent Sexual Tension. When they're paired as the Lovers in Goose Goose Duck, Ver is very vocal about his displeasure of the pairing. However, when he asks Kotoka out to go with her to the NIJISANJI Summer Festival, he does it in a way that can be seen as asking out for a date, which Kotoka publishes on Twitter (a.k.a. X) soon after. She accepts his invitation, but almost stands him up on their "date". The two of them also discover their ship tag #Vertoka around that time as well. Kotoka describes their "date" as a "mission date" on-stream.
  • Two Girls to a Team: What originally started out as a Gender-Equal Ensemble has been reduced to this trope, with Meloco and Kotoka being the two remaining girls of XSOLEIL.

    Doppio Dropscythe

Doppio Dropscythe [JP: ドッピオ ドロップサイト]

"What a guy!"

"Enforcer of the Student Council who is true to himself.
He’s a delinquent turned disciplinarian, so can order really be expected?"
— Official profile

Debut date: December 9, 2022
Birthday: January 31st
Languages spoken: English (native), Japanese (fluent), Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Tagalog (knows bits of all of the above languages aside from English and Japanese)
Illustrator: Takebayashi
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age:
Height: 187 cm
Category: Duke of Discipline
Occupation: Student Council Enforcer

  • Alliterative Name: Doppio Dropscythe, the Duke of Discipline.
  • The Big Guy: Within the student council, Doppio is the muscle of the group. He has very physical abilities, and his role is being an enforcer.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: Doppio is tall, relentlessly cheerful, and superhumanly good in a fistfight.
  • Character Catchphrase: "The D in Doppio stands for [X]".
  • Chuunibyou: Doppio is really into acting as different characters and whenever he does, he's really into playing the role. This is especially seen during Pomu's NKODICE tournament, where he acts like a shounen anime character who keeps trash talking. Even when he's not doing it, other livers have commented on how he acts and sounds like an anime protagonist or even a villain.
  • Cute Little Fangs: He has prominent fangs when he opens his mouth.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Doppio's tweets and in-character acting generally confuse other people, he likes to say things that don't necessarily make any sense, and he's prone to act unpredictably.
  • The Ditz: Doppio often roleplays during streams (sometimes a requirement depending on the stream), and he seems to be very fond of playing characters that aren't particularly smart.
  • Entendre Failure: A Running Gag involving him is either not understanding perverted wordplays or take them literally or interpreting them for something completely different.
  • Fanboy: He frequently brings up Bug Fables and encourages his fellow livers to play it.
  • The Gadfly: Since he's the tallest member of NIJISANJI EN, he likes to tease his branch members for being short, notably those with The Napoleon complex, such as Zaion and Kyo.
  • Graceful Loser: He doesn't mald if he loses to his opponents and congratulates them for beating him.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: His lore video is entirely dubbed in Japanese. By contrast, Zaion's and Hex's lore videos are dubbed in English, Meloco's lore video starts off in Japanese, but then eventually continues in English, Ver's lore video starts off in English, but eventually continues in Korean, while all of the dialogue in Kotoka's lore video is silent.
  • Height Angst: He was proud of being the tallest member of EN, but since Vox debuted his third model which has far eclipsed Doppio's height by 33cm, Doppio has become very jealous of Vox. Vox rubbing his new height in his face doesn't help. Upon meeting Doppio at NIJIFes, Oliver has learned that Doppio gets easily nervous by people taller than him.
  • Hidden Depths: Doppio's energetic roles he's playing tend to overwhelm the livers around him, but when he's not in the role, he's nice and polite to them.
  • In-Series Nickname: Pio-chan and Dopi.
  • The Ingenue: Similar to Rosemi, Doppio is not familiar with sexual slangs or deez nuts jokes, as he had to google what "coochie" means, and he genuinely tried once to find Luca's "sugon" during the spontaneous Among Us game. When Doppio's chat tried to explain to him that "sugon" are "balls", Doppio thought of literal balls. During Selen's Draw & Guess collab stream, Doppio was wondering if the word he was trying to draw would get them demonetized, the girls all thought that he was thinking of something lewd, but in actuality, Doppio was thinking about the Game Theory logo.
  • Insane Troll Logic: His tweets have been confusing his fellow livers and other Twitter users. Vox has voiced that he can't tell if Doppio's Uberdrive story was actually based on real-life events or something he made up due to how bizarrely it was written. The one thing Vox has noticed is that there seems to be some kind of continuity behind them. Doppio has also commented about how his senpais don't understand what he's tweeting. Given that he mentions the Uber driver by name and he mentions the word "mission", it's most likely made up.
  • Keet: Despite being the tallest member of the EN branch, he's quite younger than his peers and also has quite the Chuunibyou. Doppio isn't that loud, but he's very energetic nonetheless and he can tire out his fellow livers with his high energy. During Pomu's NKODICE tournament, Aia, Scarle and Uki are all unable to match his energy. Despite this, Fulgur has commented in a separate stream that Doppio goes quiet whenever other livers enter the voice chat and he has to gradually get used to the new situation to become talkative again.
  • Large Ham: While he's not actually that loud, he does carry a lot of energy when he's speaking or acting in a different role. He's especially hammy in XSOLEIL's debut song, with his most notable part being his "CON-TR-AAA-RY".
  • Letter Motif: D. He's got an Alliterative Name and title that all start with D, and his Catchphrase is "The D in Doppio stands for [inserted word that starts with D]".
  • Mean Character, Nice Actor: He likes to trash talk to his opponents, but he's actually nice to them once it's over.
  • Nonconformist Dyed Hair: He has four different hair colors (magenta, black, white and purple) and he started out as a delinquent before joining the student council.
  • Painful Body Waxing: One of his preferred forms of punishment. This is a man who willingly chose to wax his balls live on stream, after winning a batsu game.
  • Polyglot: While he speaks English natively, he also knows Japanese fluently, and has some decent knowledge of Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Korean, Tagalog, Spanish, and French.
  • Shock Collar: Occasionally uses these to spice up batsu games. By breaking into his genmates' houses and putting collars on them while they sleep.
  • Super-Strength: In his lore video, he punched the hood of a car so hard, the whole car folded in half. His ability "Double Drops" allows him to take the enemy's strength and reflect it completely when he punches them.
  • Super Window Jump:
    • Breaks into Hex's room this way when the latter's oversleeping... and botches the landing, knocking himself out. Apparently, this isn't the first time he's done this.
    • He's also done this to Ver's room before their off-collab, forcing them to go to the Villions' Café because of all the shards of glass on the floor.
  • Talkative Loon: He usually goes off on a very long tangent whenever he starts talking, which makes it difficult for people to understand what he's actually talking about. He even does it in text form.
  • Technicolor Eyes: His irises are green at the top and yellow at the bottom. If his eyes are slightly squinted, it looks like his eye color is changing depending on whether he is looking up or down, when in reality it doesn't.
  • The Teetotaler: Apparently, the only remotely alcoholic thing he owns is vinegar, leading to hilarity when he tries drinking the vinegar on Under The Table. Vox quickly tells him to just drink something non-alcoholic.
  • They Call Him "Sword": His last name is "Dropscythe".
  • Too Kinky to Torture: He's the most eager to incorporate physical batsus into collabs with his genmates, so far including Painful Body Waxing and Shock Collars. He even engages into said batsus even if he wins and has no reason to do the batsus.
  • Verbal Tic: He tends to repeat his words in rapid session.
  • Video Arcade: He lives in one called the D_D Arcade. He apparently sleeps in the ballpit.
  • Would Hurt a Child: In Aia's DnD sessions, his characters often come to the decision to hurt children, much to the bewilderment of the party members and the game master.

    Meloco Kyoran

Meloco Kyoran [JP: 狂蘭 メロコnote ]

"Ligma!"

"Event coordinator of the Student Council who is an exorcist by night.
She casts out ghosts and demons with her trusty umbrella."
— Official profile

Debut date: December 9, 2022
Birthday: October 29th
Languages spoken: Japanese (native), English (learning), Korean (a little bit)
Illustrator: Dolustoy
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age:
Height: 171 cm (164 + 7 cm heels)
Category: Arcana of Melancholy
Occupation: Student Council Event Coordinator

  • Abusive Parents: Her lore video shows her mother smacking her face, calling her useless and then disowning her from the family.note
  • Big-Breast Pride: She isn't afraid to jiggle her J-cup breasts on-stream.
  • Character Catchphrase: "Hori shiet!" She says and writes it so often that her colleagues are prone to copying it.
  • Challenge Gamer: During her debut week, she tries to beat Getting Over It in a 10-minute challenge. After five "warm-up rounds", she beats the game in 8 minutes and 8 seconds.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Doesn't like coriander.
  • Energetic and Soft-Spoken Duo: With herself. When speaking in English, she speaks in a very energetic voice. When speaking in Japanese, her voice becomes more soft-spoken and more quiet.
  • Going Commando: Downplayed. She dislikes bras and prefers using a harness belt as a substitute.
  • Hollywood Exorcism: According to her description, she is an exorcist who uses her ability "Happy XIII Day" to cast out demons with her umbrella.
  • In-Series Nickname: Melo. Uki Violetta pronounces it as "Mero".
  • Japanese Ranguage:
    • Like Yugo Asuma before her, Meloco occasionally has the R and L problem, which can be heard in XSOLEIL's debut song and in her speech, such as saying "hilarious" as "hiralious". She also misspelled "Ligma balls" as "Rigmaballs" on Twitter. Similarly, she also mispronounces Th sounds as S sounds, e.g. "birthday" as "birsday", pronounces the word "year" as "ear" (the Japanese language doesn't have the "Yi" sound), and pronounces V sounds as B sounds, e.g. "Ver" as "bear" or even "bell". This is because she's still learning the language and is not nearly as fluent as Yugo was.
    • She manages to simultaneously fall victim to R/L and B/V with a mention of "VR" (virtual reality), as her initial pronunciation is extremely close to "BL" forcing her to slowly repeat the letters with increased emphasis.
    • She calls Vox "Box" and Scarle "Scara".
  • Kiai: She uses "Ligma!" and its variations to hype herself up and channel her energy when she's playing games. Even after she learned what "ligma" actually means, she continues to use that word as a kiai. She later says during the XSOLEIL's 6-months anniversary game show that "ligma" is her favorite "English" word. But by the time of the first anniversary, she hasn't used "ligma" for a long time anymore.
  • Meido: She lists "cleaning [her] room with maid cosplay" as one of her likes.
  • Neat Freak: She lists cleaning her room (in a maid outfit) as one of her likes, she lists dirty rooms as one of her dislikes, and she tells the other two girls that she bathes twice per day. Naturally, she gets uncomfortable with Zaion's and Kotoka's not-so-hygenic lifestyles.
  • The Ojou: Her backstory reveals that she was raised as a heir of an esteemed Japanese family, until she was deemed a failure and cast out.
  • Orgasmic Combat: Whenever she plays a game and it gets intense, she tends to moan unintentionally.
  • Parental Abandonment: She was deemed an unsuitable heir, and got promptly disowned by her family.
  • Perpetual Smiler: Meloco's model is always smiling, in a very sultry way.
  • Self-Deprecation: She jokingly refers to herself as "fake EN" during her debut since her English, while good enough for Nijisanji EN, is a clear work-in-progress.
Meloco: Will Meloco ever go from being "fake EN" to a "true EN"? Who knows.
  • Switch to English: Most of her lore video is voiced in her native Japanese, but everything (including the narration) switches to English after she encounters the English-speaking headmaster of the XSOLEIL Institute of Infinity and becomes part of the student council.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: Her Japanese-speaking viewers have pointed out to her that her Japanese is unusual, and she herself admits it. She also admits that Sonny's Japanese is so fluent, it's better and more proper than hers.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: During her visit to Kotoka's house, she gets terrified at the sight of three cockroaches in the latter's room.
  • Yaoi Fangirl: She likes BL and yaoi, including Banana Fish, Yuri!!! on Ice and Yarinchin Bitch Club. She claims to have read at least 500 books in the BL genre.

    Hex Haywire

Hex Haywire [JP: ヘックス へイワイヤー]

"Life is too short to be spent not loving deeply."

"Counselor of the Student Council who greatly wishes to care for people.
He can absorb the pain of others, at the cost of his own wellbeing."
— Official profile

Debut date: December 9, 2022
Birthday: May 7th
Languages spoken: English (native), Tagalog (second language, conversational), Spanish (one of his languages, barely speaks it, wants to learn more and connect with his roots), Korean (can pronounce hangul, wants to learn more)
Illustrator: Namakawa
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: █note
Height: 185 cm/6'1"
Category: Sage of Grief
Occupation: Student Council Counselor

  • Actually Pretty Funny: While his deep voice on the debut trailer was partially caused by a sickness, he enjoyed the memes around it and asked everyone who joked about it not to feel guilty.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Has a penchant for addressing his listeners as "baby", "darling", or "little one". His old fan name, "sickos", also fits in an Insult of Endearment way.
  • Alliterative Name: Hex Haywire.
  • Berserk Button: Steak is one of Hex’s favorite foods and he has very strong opinions on how to properly prepare it. Therefore, an easy way to provoke him is mention cooking it to well done, in the microwave, and/or serving it with ketchup.
  • Blatant Lies: Hex often claims that he is "seiso", but his fans and his fellow livers don't believe him at all due to what he has said and done. Especially considering his claims to be seiso are quite often in the same breath as hitting on his chat.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: His debut line "I promise I won't let you go, baby." is so iconic that other people keep quoting it when they try to imitate his voice.
  • Brief Accent Imitation: Often imitates a southern US accent, usually as his alter-ego, "Tex Haywire".
  • Cast from Sanity: Hex notes in his debut that shouldering the traumas of everyone he's ever healed hasn't been kind to his mental health.
  • Character Catchphrase: Has quite a few.
    • Often boasts, "I am simply better!" whenever he wins something.
    • "I wanna be a cowboy, baby!"
    • Has a tendency to refer to mild but embarrassing troubles in games as "certified choke me like you hate me moments".
    • When he's talking about how he likes to be fairly involved with his fandom, Hex likes to joke that he's "in your walls".
    • "What on God's green earth" seems to be his preferred expression of surprise.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Hex's claims to be seiso aren't fooling anyone - hardly a stream goes by that he's not spouting innuendos. He's also one of the sweetest, gentlest members of the EN branch.
  • The Comically Serious: Hex is capable of making jokes with a straight face and serious tone.
  • Cuddle Bug: Frequently fantasizes on-stream about cuddling with loved ones, and gives out kisses and headpats to viewers.
  • Cute Owl: Represents the sicklings as one, which he usually keeps perched on his shoulder or on his lap.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He's alluded to having had a rough childhood a few times. Apparently, this is part of the reason he's got a high tolerance for horror.
  • Deadpan Snarker: During his 100,000 subscribers celebration Q&A, when Hex reads Aia's question why he's stinky, he just says calmly that the question is probably meant for Kotoka. And when his chat asks him what his Safe Word is, he answers "Don't stop" in a deadpan voice.
  • Delicate and Sickly: The reason why Hex lists his throat as one of his three dislikes is that he gets sick fairly easily because of it. He can't talk and stream for too long, as it would strain his throat too much, and if he were to do an endurance stream some day, he has to prepare himself for it. In fact, he was sick by the time he recorded his debut line.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Has outright admitted that the easiest way to distract him from what he's doing is to mention his breeding kink.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: He is very prone to this whenever he streams Genshin Impact, especially when it comes to Raiden.
"OH MY GOD SHE PULLED A SWORD FROM HER TITS"
  • Empathic Healer: He can absorb people's pain through touch with an ability he calls "heart-hacking". He is also capable of reversing the flow of his powers to inflict the trauma of others on a specific target, but he doesn't use it often.
  • Gentle Giant: At 185 cmnote , Hex is the second-tallest member of XSOLEIL, as well as NijiEN overall. However, he is much more of a lover than a fighter, as his powers are meant for healing rather than harming, and he is well known for his kind demeanor.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Hex has two cats named Baby and Dusty, the former of which often makes surprise guest appearances on his streams. He absolutely showers them with affection, and he sees them as the closest things he has to children.
  • Last-Name Basis: In Doppio's lore video, which is entirely dubbed in Japanese, he refers to the other student council members by their last names. Outside of it, he doesn't do this.
  • Locked into Strangeness: According to Hex, the black streaks in his otherwise blue hair are from healing people with his powers, and his hair will grow progressively darker the more he uses them.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Both Hex and a large proportion of his regulars are this, resulting in lots of randy inside jokes.
  • Nice Guy: His ability is absorb people's pain into himself, which he does when saving them. Hex is polite, humble and gentle and he likes to be The Shrink for other people.
  • Pun: One of Hex's very first tweets is "Sex Haywire".
  • Sex Is Good: Hex seems to be firmly of this opinion, given his tendency to cheerfully assure his viewers it's healthy to fold as much as they need.
  • Signature Line: His debut line "I promise I will never let you go, baby" is so iconic that whenever his colleagues try to imitate him, they will recite this line in a very deep voice.
  • Signature Sound Effect: Has a few, most notably sipping water, kissing the viewers, and clearing his throat.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Can easily out-swear either of the other boys in XSOLEIL.
  • Sleepyhead: Implied; he has perpetual dark circles under his eyes, he's talked about having depression, one of his preview shorts depicts him struggling to stay awake, and when he isn't around, Doppio's first guess as to his whereabouts is that he's sleeping.
  • Stoic Spectacles: He wears glasses, (although they are removable) and has a fairly stern resting expression.
  • Team Dad: He's this to XSOLEIL and offers them and his branch members "therapy sessions". He also claims to be the council's Only Sane Man and tries to minimize their chaos.
  • Troll: Mainly on Twitter, where he deliberately upsets the internet over the things he says.
  • Unusual Euphemism: "Folding", in his chat, can mean anything from just getting briefly Distracted by the Sexy all the way to needing to masturbate (with something of a skew towards the latter), but it's always at least a little bit sexual. The sicklings have a friendly rivalry between "focuslings" who make a game of not folding in the face of Hex's constant innuendos and "foldlings" who either let it happen or actively try to provoke the focuslings.
  • Vague Age: Played for Laughs. Whenever the topic comes up, he gives wildly different answers for how old he is, often skewed towards him being middle-aged or older despite answering in earnest at one point that he's "on the younger side". As of January 2024, he has since specified that he was born in 1999.

    Kotoka Torahime

Kotoka Torahime [JP: 虎姫 コトカnote ]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kotoka.png
"'Bokki' means 'erection'."

"Vice President of the Student Council who is as fashionable as she is dependable.
She specializes in glamouring as anyone she touches."
— Official profile

Debut date: December 9, 2022
Birthday: August 14th
Languages spoken: English (fluent), Japanese (native)
Illustrator: Mimosa
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age:
Height: 166 cm/5'4"
Category: The Haute Allure
Occupation: Student Council Vice President

  • Animal Motif:
    • Tigers. Her last name literally translates to "tiger princess".
    • Cats for her fans, the Kotocats, avoiding an overlap with Ver's fans, the Villions.
    • Kotoka herself becomes more and more associated with gorillas rather than with felines.
      • This culminates in emotes of her Kotocats being depicted as cats dressed up as gorillas.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: She's admitted early on that she's into trying unorthodox food combinations, and was thrilled at some of her chat's suggestions. During the XSOLEIL girls collab, she admits that she has tried bugs before (but not centipedes) and she suggests that they should do a collab stream with them eating bugs as batsus.
  • Child of Two Worlds: For the first six weeks after her debut, she never specified where she comes from or where she lives, but showed herself to be fluent in both English and Japanese, though she can't read kanji very well. She's more confident in her English-speaking skills, but is more familiar with Japanese culture, especially when compared to English internet culture. Since she's fluent in both languages, she generally uses both during her streams. Kotoka would eventually confirm in an announcement stream that her first language is Japanese, that she has been residing in Japan for a long time and that she is not a haafu. Prior to joining NIJISANJI, she hasn't spoken English for ten years and had to pick it up again.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Her random perversion, her lack of hygiene, her unhealthy taste of food as well as her very questionable style of cooking qualify as this. In regards to her cooking, she often uses home appliances and tools that aren't meant for cooking or baking, and she deliberately handicaps herself when she's cooking. For example, she has used a Roomba as a sushi belt or has used an electric screwdriver and a torch to make cotton candy.
  • Comical Translation: While she and Meloco are playing NKODICE, Kotoka offers herself to translate Meloco's English statements into Japanese for the Japanese watchers. She would also purposefully mistranslate some of Meloco's words into something lewd.
Meloco: [In English] This is really fabulous, beautiful game. This stream is wholesome.
Kotoka: [In Japanese] "Yes, I really love dicks.", is what she said.
Meloco: [In Japanese] I never said that!
  • Extreme Omnivore: If her Bizarre Taste in Food doesn't confirm this, there's the fact that she eats food that she leaves out in her room for several days. Also bugs. She says she can eat basically anything.
  • Glamour: Her power allows her to shapeshift into someone she touches by taking a picture of herself with the flash on.
  • Gyaru Girl: She is a self-claimed "gyaru" and her description paints her as The Fashionista. For the WrestleSanji 2023 tournament, her character avatar is a yamanba.
  • Hates Baths: While she enjoys taking a good bath, she doesn't like to bathe/shower so often, just like Zaion. She also says during her debut that she hates the feeling of getting wet, which is why she doesn't wash herself that often.
  • Humanshifting: Can transform into other people by touching them and then taking a selfie with the flash on.
  • In-Series Nickname: Koto.
  • Involuntary Shapeshifting: During Petra's NIJISANJI Koshien 2023 Watchalong, Kotoka randomly transforms into Ren Zotto without meaning to do so.
  • Lethal Chef: Her cooking skills are anything but good. Some of her ingredients tend to be already expired, the food she stores in her fridge usually rots away, she uses cooking utensils for completely different purposes because she's missing some, and she bought a fire torch for cooking while she was drunk. While her pancake looks aesthetically better than Meloco's, both of their pancakes don't taste good at all. Months later, when Meloco is asked about doing another collab with her, it won't be another cooking collab again because Meloco doesn't want to die. Her various cooking teachers (read: NIJISANJI colleagues) are also often worried whenever they see her handling ingredients/food in an unhygienic way. The description for her cooking streams says it all:
WARNING!! Kotoka's Cooking is just a stream where a girl tries her best in cooking in a limited situation and brain cells. Please watch over her with warm hearts, and don't try this at home.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: She's very fond of dirty jokes and keeps teaching her non-JP livers Japanese phrases used in sexual context. After teaching Mysta and Mika, her collab stream with Ren revolves all about dirty flirting.
  • The Mentor:
    • Not her (at first), but she mentions a "sensei" she looked up to in her lore video the same way Yugo looked up to Ike in his.
    • She eventually becomes a "sensei" of her own, teaching her fellow livers dirty Japanese words and phrases as her main topic. This culminates to a very drunk Mysta saying stuff like "anal sex" to CEO Riku Tazumi, something that would further give her more notoriety.
    • She later creates streams dedicated to teaching her fellow livers Japanese. Most of the time, it's dirty flirts.
    • For her handcam cooking series, she asks her colleagues from various branches to become her cooking teacher for her respective stream, while she's the student. Since they're far away from her, they only can give her instructions for three minutes after every 15 minutes of her doing the cooking/baking alone, and during those 15 minutes they cannot communicate with her. The problem is that Kotoka is a Lethal Chef with questioning cooking methods who deliberately handicaps herself, which pretty much upsets her teachers every time.
  • Number Two: She's the vice-president of the student council, making her Ver's number two.
  • Non-Action Guy: Compared to Ver, Meloco, Doppio and Zaion, Kotoka has no fighting powers.
  • The Prankster: She has the tendency to prank her fellow livers regardless of the branch or seniority, such as pretending not to speak Japanese or using rubber spiders.
  • Raging Stiffie: Verbally-only. Both times the first thing she teaches Mysta and Mika Japanese words, it's "bokki", which means "erection", so they can say to their JP senpais that they have a "bokki". Because of this, Kotoka got the reputation of being a "bokki sensei".
  • Screaming Woman: She's very prone of making shrieks, regardless if she plays a horror game, a different game or reacts to her own voice pack.
  • Screw the Money, I Have Rules!: During her first Genshin Impact stream, one generous viewer gifts her a lot of Genesis Crystals, which are worth 80 wishes and therefore are worth more than 200 bucks. This gets Kotoka very flustered, she asks her chat to stop gifting her, and she reluctantly uses them to try to get Yelan. (Unfortunately, she fails to get a 5* character with those wishes.) After she loses the 50:50 and tries it again with her own money (roughly more than 100 bucks) and still fails to get Yelan with subsequent wishes, another fan gifts her some Genesis Crystals (around four times less than the previous gift), which causes her to stop wishing because if she uses them now, her fans will continue gifting her with expensive premium currency.
  • Signature Laugh: She has quite a loud, low-pitched and dirty-sounding nasally laugh that can be described as a mix between Elira's laugh and Nina's laugh.
  • Silent Movie: Unlike her genmates' lore videos which all have voice acting, Kotoka's lore video is the only one that is designed like a silent movie.
  • Stylistic Suck:
    • Her weekly release schedules used to be written in a poor handwriting rather than being typed out with a computer.
    • Just like Ren Zotto with his Let's Get It Started solo cover MVs, Kotoka's HOLD IT DOWN solo cover MV has just her head photoshopped onto her fellow genmates.
  • This Is a Drill: One of her infamous "cooking utensils" is a drill, stunning everyone who sees her using it.
  • Tongue-Tied: Kotoka has a few slips of the tongue from time to time, like during her "guellira" Debut 2.5 stream.
  • Trash of the Titans: Meloco has spoken about how unkempt Kotoka's living conditions are, recalling an incident where the latter force-fed her pieces of a moldy hamburger. Kotoka thought it tasted fine. Meloco would later be forced to clean Kotoka's room as a batsu stream, which turns out to be a horrific experience.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds:
    • Kotoka and Ver often argue with each other and are commonly at each other's throat, but they also collab very often with each other.
    • Kotoka and Meloco are also this. Due to their different view on hygiene, and Kotoka's tendency to prank her, they are quite the bickering pair of friends.
  • Voices Are Mental: She keeps her own voice when using her Glamour ability. Although she does try to change her voice, but it's clearly still hers.
  • Vulgar Humor: Kotoka is very prone of making dirty jokes and even teaches Mysta (and later Mika) sex-related Japanese words and phrases. Unlike Meloco, Kotoka never censors the word "ochinchin" and its variations. While Zaion also engages in vulgar humor from time to time, Kotoka is more chill and more direct about it.
  • Wham Line: Kotoka's cooking style and the food she makes is so out of the ordinary that Ver considers it "litter". When he asks her, if she were to try it for real, if she can make good chicken, her reply "Like from scratch?" is so mind blowing that even Doppio, who is normally very protective of her, is baffled by it. It gets worse when she further replies "Like...from...step 1".

"Ver-y nice to meet you."

"President of the Student Council who is veiled in charisma and mystery.
He can look into your very soul and read your future."

Age:
Height: 175 cm/5'9" (173 cm/5'8" + 2 cm shoes)
Category: The Soul Prophet
Occupation: Student Council President

  • Alliterative Name: Ver Vermillion.
  • Animal Motifs: White tigers. His Villions are depicted as chibi white tigers.
  • Art Evolution: On July 15th, Ver is the fifth EN liver to reveal his 3.0 brush-up, having received new facial expressions for his model.
  • As You Know: In his lore video, he calls Zaion and asks her to remind him why he's doing the mission he's in right now. After she explains the goal of the mission to him again, he says that he already knows that, but then he immediately asks her why he of all members is doing it. It's because "a certain someone forgot to close the windows last night and turned [their] council room into a goddamned winter wonderland".
  • Big Eater: Implied; all but two of the likes listed in his debut slides are food.
  • Butt-Monkey: Similar to his counterpart Ren, Ver often ends up being the butt of the jokes of the other XSOLEIL members.
  • Child of Two Worlds: Ver was raised in two languages, English and Korean. In his lore video, he uses both. Said lore video is also presented in VOMIC form, specifically in web manhwa style, which reflects his Korean origin. His character design is also noted to be similar to a KPop band artist, and the wave's debut song also has a KPop vibe to its style.
  • Cool Mask: He has a black mask bearing a design of a sharp-toothed mouth which he can take on and off. He appears to use it mostly when using his powers.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Played for Laughs. Often shifts into this at the very notion that his Villions may watch any other streamers besides him.
    "Only Ver."
  • Does Not Like Spam: Hates red cabbage. He can eat anything else, but red cabbages are the one thing he despises.
  • Lovable Rogue: Due to how poor XSOLEIL is, Ver resorts to stealing money from ILUNA with no shame. Thankfully, he's charming enough that people just gloss over it, including Ren from ILUNA, and even Kyo is more annoyed that Ver called him short rather than being upset about the stolen money. During the third episode of the NIJIEN Dating Show, Ver flexes with the money he all got (from ILUNA) by renting the VIP lounge with it.
  • Ma'am Shock: Gender-Inverted. When the captive girl from his lore video calls him "ajeossi"note , Ver corrects her and asks her to call him "oppa"note . She doesn't budge, and soon his chat would start calling him "ajeossi" as well from then on, which he seems to have resigned himself to at this point. He even makes puns on the title, and funnily enough, actually does have a nephew, making him a literal uncle.
  • Mercy Kill: When Aia Amare introduces him to the "Sheep Fricker" on NIJISANJI's Minecraft server, Ver attempts to "put [the sheep] out of its misery", but Aia stops him before he can do it.
  • Money, Dear Boy: In-Universe; he states that the reason why he and the rest of XSOLEIL are streaming is because they're broke. Considering that their first treasurer was a hardcore gacha gamer, and the responsibilities have since fallen to an already overworked Ver, who's beginning to show signs of gacha addiction himself...
  • Mysterious Past: His lore video differs from his genmates', mostly by the fact that it doesn't reveal anything about his past or how he was recruited into XSOLEIL. It only shows what he's doing in the present, what his powers are (but not where they come from), and what his personality is like.
  • Pen-Pushing President: President of the student council, and constantly drowning in paperwork.
  • Perpetual Poverty: On top of XSOLEIL being poor, they also make very poor money decisions, buying stuff that are too expensive or not practical or paying for gacha games. Ver bought a café for his Villions rather than buying a bed to sleep on in his room.
  • Precision F-Strike: Ver doesn't swear very much; when he does, he means business.
  • Pungeon Master: It helps that his name is easy to make puns on.
  • Signature Sound Effect: Makes "nyamnyamnyam" noises when he's thinking.
  • Soul Power: His power "Anima Veritas" allows him to read people's futures by looking into their souls.
  • Student Council President: Ver is the student council president of the XSOLEIL Institute of Infinity and therefore The Leader of XSOLEIL. Apparently he was voted for the role because he's the most handsome.
  • Sweet Tooth: His favorite pasttime is sweets cafe-hopping, and he claims to start his day with a sugar high rather than caffeine.
  • Switch to English: Inverted. His lore video starts off in an English dub, but then it changes to Korean once Ver has his dialogue with the hostage and it keeps that way till the end.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Ver and Kotoka often argue with each other and are commonly at each other's throat, but they also collab very often with each other.

"Holy moly!"

"Treasurer of the Student Council who came from the future.
She hides her loneliness with a self-imposed goal of preventing the apocalypse."

Retirement date: March 10, 2023
Birthday: July 11th

Age:
Height: 152 cm/ 5'0''
Category: The Highest Infinity
Occupation: Student Council Treasurer

  • A-Cup Angst: She's clearly bothered by her small chest and becomes flustered when comments are made about it.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Though her backstory is taken at face value, her lore video does cast some doubt over the time-traveling savior story:
    • She's unaware of how exactly she went back in time.
    • The police identify her as the threat and shoot. Noticeably, her Ray Gun roasts a car into a flaming wreck, similar to the ones that she saw earlier and took as a sign of the apocalypse following her.
    • During her entire Inner Monologue, she doesn't notice her weapons going off at all. The psychiatrist questioning her presents a photo of three laser guns around her firing and tells her she's being detained as a public danger. It's clear he won't listen to her but she doesn't refute his points, instead insistently demanding that she be let go with her sole focus on stopping the apocalypse.
    • Her memories of the future are shown when someone has her think deeper about what happened, come and go in a black-and-white flash, and the quality itself is staticy, grainy, and with a slight filter over it. Whether these details are a stylistic choice or evidence her mind is reinforcing her delusions as the psychiatrist says is arguable.
    • Her great great grandfather was trying to find her, fully believes her story, and gets her out of imprisonment and enrolled into his institute. Certainly a convenient story for the headmaster who also ends up scouting the rest of XSOLEIL.
  • Animal Motif: Cats, although she hates being compared to a cat.
  • Berserk Button: Despite her hairstyle invoking cat ears, she does not take being called a Cat Girl very well.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: After being live for just 8 weeks, Zaion was suspended for a month and eventually terminated on March 10, 2023, which resulted in XSOLEIL losing their treasurer and Ver having to pick up her student council duties in addition to his own. After the initial days following her termination, she's not been mentioned again.
  • Colony Drop: The apocalyptic event Zaion's trying to prevent is the moon, filled with alien technology, falling upon the Earth.
  • Cute Little Fangs: She has small pointy fangs, which can be seen if she opens her mouth wide.
  • Destructive Saviour: After her first Good Job! stream, she sent Ver an invoice for the damages incurred in-game, totaling $327,260. The description she wrote for the charges simply reads "Oh, the usual~".
  • Does Not Like Spam: Doesn't like beansprouts, carrots, or bananas.
  • Fountain of Youth: Traveling back in time has caused her body to de-age.
  • The Gambling Addict: Like Finana Ryugu, Zaion is an avid gacha gamer and is proud of it.
  • Great Offscreen War: Her lore video mentions a war as the reason aliens would want to drop the moon onto Earth. Zaion doesn't go into more detail though since it's clear the psychiatrist speaking with her is doubtful.
  • Hates Baths: She doesn't like to bathe or shower every day and she is content to wash herself only once every few weeks or even a week. She tries to justify this by saying that the future she comes from is very sparse with water as a resource and she is saving water that way. During the 1st years collab, this is brought up again and her argument of saving water gets negated, since she takes 1-2 hours for a shower, which defeats the whole point of saving water.
  • Irony: She is the Treasurer of the student council. The very first thing she establishes about herself is that she is "the" gacha gamer of the group. Her YouTube profile clarifies that she is the "broke" treasurer.
  • Motor Mouth: Zaion is a fast and energetic talker. While it helps her entertain her audience, her tendency to speak before thinking has led repeatedly to Saying Too Much.
  • Mrs. Robinson: Played for Laughs (we think). She's very open about how much she likes "young, small boys" like Venti from Genshin Impact, to the point where her chat genuinely can't tell if she's serious or not anymore.
  • The Napoleon: After being de-aged, she's has become quite insecure about her short height and she rather wants her audience to forget about it. They don't. And she gets angry at them. It doesn't help that Doppio keeps making fun of her shortness.
  • No True Scotsman: Humorously casts doubts on Meloco's nationality and jokingly calls her a fake Japanese since neither Meloco nor Kotoka know that Japan is often called the "land of the rising sun" (with the country flag's red circle symbolizing said rising sun) in the same manner as America (where Zaion resides) being called "the land of freedom".
  • People Jars: One of the flashbacks in her lore video has Zaion in one judging by the bubbles, with her hand against the glass towards the scientist jotting notes down.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Her model is always frowning. Even if she tries her hardest to smile, she's still frowning with her eyebrows.
  • Powers Do the Fighting: When she first shows up in the past in her lore video, she pulls up a Holographic Terminal to get a read on the situation, unaware of the policemen taking aim at her. When one fires, a Beehive Barrier automatically protects her from the bullet which then manifests into a Ray Gun that fires back without her realizing any danger.
  • Saying Too Much: She has a bad habit of saying things before thinking, partly because of her Motor Mouth.
  • Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Her mission is to stop the apocalypse from the future she lived in from happening.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: Her Dimensional Diffusion ability allows her to summon small objects from her old world. She expresses a preference towards knives in her debut stream, though her lore video has her subconsciously summon floating laser guns that fire on their own and her "Be Right Back" screen shows her summoning a knife, pistol, bullets, and what looks to be a shield. What separates her ability from outright Infinite Supplies is her mentioning that she doesn't have the ability to summon food yet.
  • Sticky Fingers: Her rabbit mascot Z2 apparently loves stealing things, such as Meloco's pudding.
  • Time Travel: Her profile states that she comes from the future, which is shown in her lore video.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: The psychiatrist in her lore video doesn't believe that Zaion is a time traveler, instead suggesting that some trauma caused her mind to make up memories of a Bad Future to cope with her powers based off it.
  • Tsundere: Her facial expressions and body language give this vibe and several livers and viewers have acknowledged that. Her video titles make use of stereotypical tsundere phrases. Whenever she's teased by her chat, Zaion shows her tsuntsun side to them, and occasionally shows her deredere side to other things.
  • Unperson: After being terminated and being removed from the company, other livers made some changes to their channels regarding their involvement with Zaion. While not every collab involving her were made private, Finana and Maria privated their respective two-man collabs with her, and Kyo privated his four-man collab with her as well. The video title of Maria's cover collab with Zaion was also changed twice, initially removing Zaion's name, and then later her own while also deactivating the comment section of said video. The video's description, however, still mentions her as "Zai-chan".
  • Verbal Tic: "Holy moly" is one of her go-to phrases, and is even the title of her debut stream.
  • Vulgar Humor: She may randomly drop dirty words or dirty jokes every now and then.
  • Xtreme Kool Letterz: Her surname LanZa is written with a capital Z. Similarly, when her name is written in Japanese, it follows the Eastern order, but her surname is in katakana and her given name is in kanji, which is the opposite case from normal.
