Diamond City Lights

Their story begins now.
In search for the Heart's Melody, LazuLight journeys through the present.
Like diamond lights guiding to rainbow skies...

In December 2020, Ichikara Inc. announced the creation of a new branch of the Nijisanji project (shortly after rebranding their Indian branch back to "NIJISANJI IN"); auditions ran from 1st December to 15th December. LazuLight, the first wave of livers selected from these auditions, debuted in May 2021.

LazuLight

    In general
  • Aerith and Bob: In Japanese, while all of them have exotic names, Pomu's name is the only name to be rendered in hiragana, which is basically the Japanese writing system for kids.
  • Good Counterpart: They are supposed to be the good counterpart of OBSYDIA, but with the way how the members of OBSYDIA turned out, and how not so nice LazuLight is acting, this trope practically became The Artifact.
  • Land, Sea, Sky: One of the main motifs of the group. Elira is the Sky, Pomu is the Earth, and Finana is the Ocean.
  • The Three Faces of Eve: Elira is the Wife, Pomu is the Seductress, and Finana is...originally supposed to be the Child, but she's trying to act like a second Seductress. From time to time, she does fall back to the Child role.
  • Token Trio: A Solar Sky Dragon from Canada, a forest fairy from America, and a tropical mermaid also from America, but with a Hmong background.

    Elira Pendora

Elira Pendora [JP: エリーラ ペンドラ]

"Sheeeeesh!"

"A sky dragon who came from the heavens closest to the sun.
She has the kindness and receptiveness that makes the light of a sunny day fall equally on all."
— Official profile

Debut date: May 12th, 2021 (Twitter) / May 15th, 2021 (Youtube)
Birthday: October 16th
Languages spoken: English, Japanese, French (conversational level)
Illustrator: 釜飯轟々丸
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: "You can't ask a woman her age!"
Height: 160 cm (human form); 1432 cm (dragon form)
Species: Solar Sky Dragon
Place of origin: Heaven
Occupation: Dragon Tamer

  • Animal Eyes: She has slit pupils befitting a dragon.
  • Ascended Extra: In Finana's Miitopia playthrough, Pikl is a fully-fledged party member as opposed to simply being Elira's pet.
  • Ascended Meme: The casual outfit featured in NIJISANJI Archive 2021-22 had been drawn and cosplayed by fans so often that Elira decided to submit it as her third model. Said model is almost identical to the casual outfit from Archive, but it comes with some additions: socks, a cardigan and a new hairstyle that also reveals her left eye.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Elira is prone to stream for hours of spontaneous "just chatting" totally missing the original point of her stream.
  • Auto-Tune: Her earlier streams ended with some last minute words in auto-tune, though she does like playing with it such as when imitating GLaDOS.
  • The Benchwarmer: Unlike Pomu and Finana, who were both starting members in Watarai's Kaitou Gakuen High High School during the NIJISANJI Koshien 2023, Elira was just a benchwarmer in Nui's Yusha Ikusei High School team, since her stats were lower than many of her teammates. She did get to shine during a critical moment of the match against Lize's Ouritsu Helesta High School, where Elira substituted for Ha Yun as a batter during the sixth inning and managed to hit the ball, allowing Debiru to run to the home base and earn Team Yusha 1 point. Thanks to Ex Albio hitting a home run shortly after, Elira got to run to the home base as well, in which her team earned 3 more points. After her contribution of getting her team in the lead, Elira was subbed out by Riri for the seventh inning, who was a relief pitcher to substitute for the other relief pitcher Ha Yun.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: Her third outfit is equipped with big, round glasses.
  • Big Sister Bully: A constant gag is Elira tricking Elibro into doing something that will get him in trouble with his mom.
  • Blatant Lies: She claims to be totally "free-to-play" in Allegedly Free Games like Genshin Impact...despite throwing obscene amounts of money into gacha on stream. Selen presses her on her gacha tendencies during their "Dragon Duckwars" collab, which Elira responds to by hastily attempting to change the subject.
  • Character Catchphrase:
    • An extended "Sheesh!" is her most recurring phrase.
    • "E to Believe", her counter to chat pulling the "X to Doubt" meme on her when she's lying or being overconfident about something, which has since become a Nijisanji EN in-joke.
    • "Sonna banana", a play on "Sonna bakana".
    • "Yippee!". There's an over 50-minutes long compilation of clips where she exclaims that word. It also has become a Borrowed Catchphrase for other people.
  • Cleavage Window: Her fourth outfit's most prominent feature is the large open space which lets her big breasts hanging out, plus the big window that bares a large portion of her chest.
  • Cute Little Fangs: While she has regular teeth normally, she has the option of baring fangs. She eventually switched to using her fangs more often than not. Her 3D model lacks the fangs.
  • Cool Big Sis: Is this to both her colleagues and her Elibro. Even when he is an adult, Elira still cooks for Elibro.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: She made a point to address a player allowing Pomu to kill them during LazuLight's second Apex Legends collab, stating that "stream sniping" (watching a game stream to gain an advantage on the streamer) is one thing but pity kills don't help them get better at the game.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Had expressed a strong dislike for pickles.
  • Doting Sister: It is blatantly obvious that Elira spoils Elibro a lot. Even her irl mom nags at her for doting on Elibro a bit too many times.
  • Double Entendre: At the request of their manager, each of LazuLight was tasked with coming up with a funny and memorable phrase for their respective debuts. Finana came up with "Seamen" as a proposed fan name and Pomu slighty modified "Big Pomu Energy" to "Big PP Energy". Elira, for her part, went with a Dragon...Deez Nuts joke.
  • Evil Laugh: She's got a very evil sounding laugh. She does it a lot.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Her left eye is similar to Pikl's eyes: a white iris with a purple cross-shaped pupil. She stated such not long after her debut but, due to her bangs, was unable to show off her left eye until her official reference sheet was posted months later. Her third outfit reveals her left eye completely.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Not Elira herself but her draconic pet Pikl has a plaster over one eye because the hidden eye is apparently far too powerful and Elira isn't sure what would happen if it was revealed. However she has three eyes remaining so it might not bother her much.
  • Fake-Out Fade-Out: She called up her ending card twice during a Jump King stream, only to change her mind and keep going. The first was when it became obvious that this would not be a five-minute speedrun, the second when she promised she'd end the stream if she fell back to the start of the game only to do so about a minute later.
  • Fangirl: She is a huge Harry Potter fan and makes frequent references to the series.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: She wears her top with the right shoulder exposed, showing off a small mole on her upper chest. She wears a large glove on her left hand, while her right hand stays inside of her sleeve. She wears her hair in bangs with hair decs along the left side.
  • Fetishized Abuser: During a collab with Petra, Elira has to specify to the audience that Elira only likes this trope when it's applied to 2D men.
  • Furry Confusion: Elira is a dragon who trains dragons. She fails to see the problem here, since she saw a human with a smaller version on a leash (a small child on a lead, thankfully, rather than anything... questionable).
  • Gosh Darn It to Heck!: Initially, she tried to keep her language clean but frequently failed. At some point, she gave up and let the swears happen naturally.
Elira (referring to a Crafting Table): You can bring one of these bitches with you anywhere...oops, I mean "things". Oh shit...I mean shoot.
  • Hidden Buxom:
    • In response to a question by an artist wondering whether she should be portrayed with small or large breasts, she shows off her model's jiggle physics. She and Pomu also recall a story where, prior to their first Phasmophobia collab, Pomu mentions that all three of them are "pettan" which prompts Elira to turn on her video camera and show her that this was not the case.
    • Her second outfit exposes her big cleavage, but her third outfit does a good job concealing her breasts again. Her fourth outfit, however, revealed the massive size of her breasts for all eternity. Elira even stated that she wanted to fight everyone. And boy did she won.
  • Hidden Depths: Pikl is an expert Apex Legends player, if Ember's Day is anything to go off of.
  • Humiliating Wager: LazuLight had a bet before their Phasmophobia collab that the one who screams the most would be forced to tweet something embarrassing. Elira lost, leading to this tweet announcing to the entire world that she "just had a nasty fart". Those who missed the stream and thus the context were utterly bewildered as to why they needed this knowledge.
  • Incredibly Lame Pun: "Dragon deez nuts" aside, when LazuLight are playing the 3D board game in hell, Elira says "Where the hell are we?" and "What the hell are we doing here?".
  • Insistent Terminology: She is a dragon, not a lizard.
  • Jump Scare:
    • She lets out a massive scream during a solo Minecraft session when an Enderman suddenly teleports into her house.
    • She tries to invoke this from Pomu and Finana in Pomu's Layers of Fear stream, invading no less than three times (one of which was during her own talk stream) in an attempt to further scare them.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Invoked. Her and Pomu's foremost reason for playing through The Quarry together was that Brenda Song plays one of the characters.
  • The Leader: Generally considered the leader of Nijisanji EN by her peers and fans, even though she considers herself more of a follower.
  • Like Is, Like, a Comma: She admits that she is prone to overusing "like" in her speech.
  • Long Neck: Downplayed. Her neck is just as long as Selen's, but because of Elira's hairstyles and outfits there's not much focus on her neck.
  • Malicious Misnaming: What may have started as Accidental Misnaming became definitely this during a Friday the 13th: The Game, where Corpse Husband pronounces her name as "Elyra", and then calls her "Elera", "Alexa", "Eli", "El", "L", "Elsa", "Elmo", and "Elijah", with Nyanners and Ironmouse joining the fun and call her "Erica" and "Elickatora". This later comes back during a Crab Game collab, where Corpse guest-stars again and calls her "Elmo" again.
Elira: My name is. Elira! Pendora! From NIJISANJI! EN!!
Corpse: You're not fooling me, Elmo.
  • The Night Owl: She mentioned early on that she's Not a Morning Person, and it quickly becomes apparent why: she is frequently awake into the wee hours of the morning in her timezone, admitting to checking archives at 3AM and frequently tweeting about going to sleep only to tweet or retweet something else a short while later. She's also the LazuLight member most prone to marathon streams, most notably multiple 9+ hour Hades streams.
    • She also once did her first-time movie watch-along of the entire The Lord of the Rings films series, EXTENDED EDITION in essentially one sitting (over 7hrs 45mins for the first two films, then a separate session of the third movie after a 30 minute break, which then ended after 5 hours).
  • Now You Tell Me: During a round of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, Elira activates "Trickstar Light Stage" and "Dark Room of Nightmare" on her field. Her opponent, Rosemi, not knowing what the Trickstar win condition is, blindly activates "Maxx 'C'" in response to Elira's "Trickstar Festival". Elira, who is in a sleep-induced haze throughout the duel, warns her about this after she has already resolved "Trickstar Festival" and summoned "Trickstar Lycoris". Even more hilarious, the warning still goes completely unheeded even after it was delivered since Rosemi later has a chance to stop Elira from killing her by activating "Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring" in response to the effect of "Trickstar Bloom", but declines on grounds of Elira letting her draw a card (which kills her faster).
  • Parrot Pet Position: Her smaller dragon companion, Pikl, is perched on her left shoulder, moving with her.
  • The Promise: While she was strongly against streaming Outlast (as she's terrified of horror games) and Ring Fit Adventure (because she doesn't have the stamina for it), she relented and promised her fans that she would stream them upon reaching 500,000 and 1,000,000 YouTube subscribers respectively. Any talk of these milestones have since come with a hint of This Is Gonna Suck once she remembers the promises she made.
  • Promoted to Parent: With how much she takes care of Elibro even into adulthood. Her relationship is less brother and sister and more mother and son. It is to the point where even her own mother complained that she spoils him too much.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She won't specify how old she is, but she did text her age to Pomu and Finana which prompted the latter to ask in astonishment if Elira had been around since the dawn of humanity.
Finana: What the - !? Did you meet God? Like, did you meet Adam and Eve!?
  • Running Gag: "Deez Nuts" jokes have become very frequent in her streams after she explained the origin of "Dragon...Deez Nuts" in her debut stream and the "Imagine Dragon...Deez Nuts" prank she pulled on her brother in front of his friends.
  • Shapeshifting: She has a human form and a dragon form, though the latter has yet to be seen.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Elira is calm and soft-spoken compared to her In-Universe sister Selen, who is very energetic. Also, Elira loves gacha games, while Selen is an outspoken critic of gacha mechanics.
  • Stylistic Suck:
    • Her "left eye reveal" for reaching 100,000 subscribers was a very crudely-drawn picture of an eye positioned over her bangs.
    • After having just completed an 11-hour stream that kept her up through the night and into the morning, Elira's next stream thumbnail was an incredibly "stylish" doodle so that she could hurry to bed. Pomu, in solidarity, created her corresponding stream thumbnail in a similarly-"stylish" manner.
  • True Companions: She, Millie, and Enna are longtime friends. Elira chose not to reveal this to her audience until their first collab together... at which point Millie points out that anyone surprised by this hasn't watched any of her or Enna's streams since Elira is a frequent topic of discussion.
  • Vocal Evolution: Elira debuted with a very calming and clear voice, which is nothing what she sounds like later on, which is more chaotic.
  • Wolf Whistle: Any time an attractive guy or girl appears on screen or says something sexy, expect some thirsty reactions.
  • Yaoi Fangirl:
    • She mentioned she got into Aldnoah.Zero because of Yaoi fanart of the two male MCs only to be disappointed that the show was not about that stuff.
    • During a Genshin stream doing Yoimiya's story quest, she started to make up a story shipping the two male NPCs in that questline.

Elibro

Elira's younger brother who is only known by his nickname. Elira sometimes mentions him from time to time, often in funny situations.

    Finana Ryugu

Finana Ryugu [JP: フィナーナ 竜宮]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/finanaryugu_1.png
"Mothertrucker!"

"A mermaid who spends her time with tropical fish in the sea of coral reefs.
Has a heart as clear and pure as the calm and beautiful sea."
— Official profile

Debut date: May 12th, 2021 (Twitter) / May 17th, 2021 (Youtube)
Birthday: June 21st
Languages spoken: English, Hmong, Japanese (elementary level)
Illustrator: Gilse
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter, Twitter (NSFW)

Age: "Froot loops" note
Height: 140 cm
Species: Tropical Mermaid
Place of origin: Tropical Seas
Occupation: Anthropologist

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Her favorite type of man is "bad boy with a heart of gold".
  • Art Evolution: On December 4th, 2023, Finana is the eleventh EN liver to receive a 3.0 brush-up. Among her new expressions, she's now able to emote her sadness much clearer than previously.
  • Ascended Fangirl: To all thing miHoYo. You guessed it, if there was a miHoYo game, she had most likely played most of it. This includes Honkai Impact 3rd, a bit of Tears of Themis, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. In fact, she is such a massive HoYo fangirl, that she alongside Mysta, was invited to a duet for the 2023 HoYoFair concert. If you want to see someone that is as invested in miHoYo, Finana's your girl.
  • Auto-Incorrect: She laments how auto-correct frequently tries to render her name as "Finance Ryugu".
  • Be Careful What You Say: In her Nekopara playthrough, as the "anime opening" music video plays in the background, she discusses her thoughts over how she got rather emotional over the events of chapter one. Ultimately remarking that by the end of the day, it's largely an Ecchi Visual Novel, closing off her thoughts with "they're gonna get fished". Soon after she says that, the video showcases a nude shower scene (with Censor Steam) that prompted her to hide the screen in panic.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Finana's sharp teeth and vibrant hair on the artwork of her Salamander cover MV later become features of her third costume.
  • Dark and Troubled Past:
    • She mentioned that her introverted behavior probably dates back to her early school days, where she had difficulty connecting with other children because she came up in a bilingual household and initially had problems separating English and Hmong. She then immediately assured viewers that it's not as sad as it sounds.
    • She also revealed that she was unable to attend college due to money problems, but plans to do so in the future when she decides what to study.
  • Determinator: Despite her deep distress during her Song of Horror streams - including claiming that she her Sanity Meter was getting low, she nevertheless pushed through it, conquering an Episode per stream - most of which lasted more than five hours. The girl simply did not let her fear rule her.
  • The Ditz: She has a lot of moments where she's rather silly. Examples: During OBSYDIA's debut program, she didn't know what "solar" means, justifying it that she's from the sea, and she forgot heir own height during that stream. During LazuLight's 2nd anniversary, she forgot about Ethyria's existence, even when she's reading Nina's messages in the chat.
  • Eloquent in My Native Tongue: In a twist on this trope, she was raised in a bilingual household but is very nervous about using Hmong on stream out of fear of embarrassing her much-more-fluent parents.
  • Entendre Failure: Despite how open she is about sex, she will sometimes miss a sex joke until chat points it out. She once called it a "Rosemi moment" after her colleague.
  • Freudian Slip: In her first Q&A stream, someone asked her "what her favorite keyboard switches are to date." Which she took to mean what switches would she like to date, and proceeded to answer in the context of her actually dating keyboard switches...
  • The Gadfly:
    • In a more subtle way than usual, but Finana likes to goad fellow livers into saying suggestive or questionable things. And when she notices she herself might be saying something bad, she usually doubles down and continues even as everyone else panics over it.
    • She loves putting up polls in her channel where the results tend to get 50-50 results. Topics include: pineapples on pizza, pickles on burger, waffles or pancakes...
  • Gamer Chick: Is the most into video games in LazuLight, and arguably the most skilled.
    • In their first Lunch Lady collab stream, she pretty much carried Pomu and Elira, picking up the most number of notes while the other two ran around screaming and getting killed.
    • While closing out her first Marshmallow Q&A stream, she mentioned trying out Apex Legends for the first time in preparation for their second collab, and won two games despite not being into first person shooters. On the actual stream, despite not bagging a champion, she was consistently dealing the highest damage.
    • She is into RPG's, and has a roster of minimum level 60 characters in Final Fantasy XIV (ehem, "eks aye vee"), of which she mains a White Mage.
    • While Elira and Pomu start off playing vanilla Minecraft due to having little knowledge of the game, Finana challenges herself with mods in her first Minecraft streams.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: When playing horror games, tends to commit a Precision F-Strike first, then covering it up with something else like "fish" or "sheet". In particular, "mother trucker" gets thrown around enough to be considered a Catchphrase.
  • Graceful in Their Element: Joked about whenever she has to do anything involving water, given that she's a mermaid. In a more meta sense, she states that she likes streaming and interacting with people online because she doesn't think she's good at it in real life.
  • Groin Attack: During her elementary school tomboy phase, she used to play football with the boys, and at one point, when attempting to catch the football, it barely grazed her crotch, but it still hurt so much that she "burned her coochie". She would later tell this story again one year later, claiming that this is her origin story of how she became the unhinged VTuber she is today.
  • Kinetic Clicking: Is a huge fan of mechanical keyboards.
  • Loophole Abuse: LazuLight had a Phasmophobia collab where the one who screams the most has to do something embarrassing on Twitter. Finana responded by largely hanging around the truck to lessen her chances of encountering anything that would frighten her. Thus, while Elira clearly lost strictly on the rules of the wager, more than a few viewers voted for Finana for being a coward.
  • Lovable Coward: She enjoys playing horror games but still gets scared of them, so she has difficulty playing them alone. Which is why when she does do horror streams she typically has another liver with her as company.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Fans often consider her "heart as clear and pure as the calm and beautiful sea," to be an Informed Attribute; she's is in most ways the most eager in the EN roster to talk of sex and pornography.
    • During her debut stream, she suggests "seamen" for her official fanbase name.
    • Still in her debut stream, she mentions looking forward to seeing NSFW art of her (of which the initial hashtag suggestion was #onlyfins) more than the normal ones. Months later, Selen would mention having to re-configure her Twitter to strictly chronological order because Finana "likes" a ton of lewd fanart and Twitter by default exposes these "likes" to Finana's followers.
    • Then there's this exchange in Twitter:
Elira: I accidentally put frosting on my bagel instead of cream cheese... help
Finana: I'm glad it wasn't something else 🤭
    • During a Twitch Stream with the rest of LazuLight, despite Elira's request to tell an embarrassing story that "could be shared with the class," Finana blithely discussed how her father had discovered an NSFW package meant for her. Even once the story was done, she continued indulging the chat's questions as Pomu and Elira looked on in increasing desperation.
Finana: I can describe the shape, think of it as like... an egg... [...] an egg with a wire? No, it was wireless.
      • The box with the wireless egg can be found in her bedroom in the VR server.
    • During the end of her final The Medium stream, she read through her own tropes (on this very page), and decided to share that she's since upgraded.
    • Her playthrough of Nekopara naturally brings out this side of her to the forefront. The crowning moment being when she decides to look up videos of the sex scenes live on stream after being dissatisfied from the "blue-ball moments". While she obviously doesn't show off the scenes in question, she does audibly react to major moments that occur while describing much of it in "code", using terms such as french fry, vanilla ice cream, donut, and fish sauce in her "Food Reviews".
    • Then there's her downloading a free VTuber asset that makes her arms perform the penetration gesture. Needless to say, her fellow VTubers had a field day scolding her.
Oliver Evans: [Replies with an animated gif of Gordon Ramsay facepalming]
Pomu: [Replying to Oliver] Oliver we have an opening in Lazulight since we're in need of a seiso member. Wanna join?
      Ayunda Risu: OH MA GAH
Elira: insert that one Code Geass fish meme
    • In early September she went so far as to retweet one of the NSFW fanarts she's so fond of, much to the delight of her fanbase.
    • In March of 2022 she became the first NIJISANJI EN member to have an NSFW alt account on Twitter.
  • More Teeth than the Osmond Family: She's got sharp teeth in her Salamander cover MV, and later gets them as part of her third outfit.
  • Orgasmic Combat:
    • During the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games collab, Luca and Finana have multiple long and intense boxing matches. Their dialogue and the noises they make sound very suggestive if watched on Selen's POV, as she and Rosemi cannot see what the two are doing.
    • The Fall Guys collab (August 2022) with Vox, Fulgur and two-thirds of ILUNA has a few moments where Finana is actively moaning, distracting the other participants.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: Finana is humanoid, including legs, but has Ear Fins and a few scales on her skin. In a then-recent trend where VTubers bring their legs up to a table in talking streams, she brings up a giant tail instead.
  • Petite Pride: She was a proud member of the "Flat is Justice" gang. Although she occasionally switched to "Medium is Premium", and she boasts about being bigger than Pomu and Enna. Her third outfit ultimately ends her "boob identity crises", solidifying her as a member of "Medium is Premium".
  • Semi-Divine: She's descended from a dragon god.
  • Ship Tease: Finana is a fan of her own ship with Selen, which is called OceanLaw, and the music video of her Love Trial cover is all about that ship.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Doritos, with her favorite flavors being Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch.
  • Used to Be a Tomboy: She said she used to have a tomboy phase when she was a kid.
  • Wins by Doing Absolutely Nothing: Happens during the spontaneous Among Us gamenote , where Finana wins the first round without killing anyone and staying silent during the meetings. This bites her back later in the second round, when she breaks her silence and gloats about how the imposters won the previous round without saying anything, which leads to Selen and Luca suspecting her being the imposter again, although she wins the second round too without getting ejected. (In this round, she does kill someone.)
  • Woman of a Thousand Voices: Her Finance voice is so different from her normal speaking voice, that it never fails to leave whoever she's showing it to completely speechless.

"I'm Pomu!"

"A fairy who lived in a lush forest.
Supple like a flower in the breeze, cheerful and optimistic."
— Official profile

Debut date: May 12th, 2021 (Twitter) / May 15th, 2021 (Youtube)
Graduation date: January 20, 2024
Birthday: July 12th
Languages spoken: English, Japanese (elementary level)
Illustrator: 玖条イチソ
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age:
Height: 9 cm (fairy form); 156 cm (human form)
Species: Forest Fairy
Place of origin: Neverland
Occupation: Office Lady

  • A-Cup Angst: Downplayed. She has a small chest and doesn't seem all that bothered, but is not above cracking jokes about it.
Pomu (while playing Cooking Simulator): We need...a cutting board. Okay. [takes a second look at it] It's Pomu!
  • Art Evolution: On September 10th, 2023, Pomu is the ninth EN liver to receive a 3.0 brush-up. Among the various new features, she has got a Playful Cat Smile, swirly eyes, slightly movable legs, etc.
  • Ascended Meme: Pomu's infamous wotagei "Jinzou Faiya Faibo Waipaa" started out as a simple voice tweet, but it became an instant meme within the community and the EN branch. It would later be integrated as part of the lyrics of the 3D music video of Diamond City Lights.
  • Back to Front: Pomu played through Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance before working her way up through the previous five Metal Gear Solid games. She went even further back and did the classic Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake games that preceded the "Solid" series.
  • *Bleep*-dammit!: During her "100K Celebration Free Talk" stream, she fielded a question asking why LazuLight attempts to act "seiso"; when trying to respond that they are not "pure" by any means and are just trying to stay within the bounds of YouTube's Terms of Service, she remarks "you can't just keep saying 'fuck' all the time" while employing a bleep to cover up the swear word. Too bad the bleep was so low in volume that it barely registered as background noise, doing absolutely nothing to censor the word.
  • Born Unlucky: She has trouble with RNG. This first appeared when trying to get the Yoshi doll in the crane game in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening but really hit high gear when she played Minecraft and managed to spawn on an isolated, resource deficient island in two different worlds twice in a row.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: She occasionally borrows the other LazuLight members' signature phrases, including Elira's "Sheeeesh" and tweeting "E to Believe" after Elira successfully predicted the final roll of their NKODICE stream, and even breaking out Finana's "mother trucker" every once in a while.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Beneath all that uncontainable energy that gets her mixing wotagei chants while singing during her karaoke streams is a very good singing voice. And in her first drawing stream, although the first sketches appeared to have been made by a grade schooler, the drawings of Hana Macchia and Hoshikawa Sara that followed after implies she has far better art skills than she probably wants to show (although she didn't upload the latter two out of being too shy).
  • Call a Rabbit a "Smeerp": After joking about it in one of her "Fix It, Pomu!" streams, some people - including her boss in her non-Vtuber-related job - have taken to calling her streams "webinars".
  • Character Catchphrase:
    • "Big PP Energy!" PP Energy stands for Powerful Pomu Energy. And nothing else. She's also quick to remind the audience "I'm Pomu!" leading to several Running Gags.
    • "Cowabunga! Choo choo!" was originally a joke catchphrase on Pomu's end, where she would say it around fellow Livers then claim that it's always been her catchphrase since her debut. However, it quickly took off as viewers quickly started to play along with the gag, so it's more or less become an actual catchphrase.
  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe: While her actual existence doesn't seem to be at risk, a lack of belief does seem to be a problem for her, so she's hoping being a Vtuber will make more people believe in fairies.
  • Commuting on a Bus: Pomu took a brief streaming break from mid-July to mid-August 2021 to have a preventive surgery; she was not ill, but a genetic abnormality was detected that made her 60% more likely to suffer from certain types of cancer. Despite this, she still showed up in a number of Nijisanji EN streams in one way or another. In particular, it would be harder to name a Minecraft stream that she didn't log into the game for.
  • Cosplay Café: She and Rosemi ran a spooky maid cafe for Halloween as the setting to tell ghost stories.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: Pomu gleefully soaks in all of the sexy character design and bouncy animation in Shantae and the Seven Sirens.
  • Evolving Credits: Her opening loading screen has gained more and more animations of individual Pomus as time has gone on, from one Pomu shortly after debut to nearly two dozen as of September 2021.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Until she was told otherwise by Selen and the Dragoons, Pomu thought that the Jollibee, mascot of the same named fast food restaurant, was an ant despite his design and his literally having the word 'bee' in his name.
  • Fangirl: Ultimately became one for the Metal Gear series after playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and the Solid games on stream.
  • Foe Romance Subtext: As Elira and Finana hear it, the whole relationship between Pomu and her childhood rival sounds like the perfect set-up for an enemies-to-lovers Rom Com. Finana eagerly telling the viewers to write the story down as a fanfiction and Elira breathlessly providing the scenario:
Elira: When you wake up early and your rival enemy also wakes up at the same time as you and you just happen to go outside running and then he also opens the door at the same time and then you have no choice but to run together and talk. And you guys are like, "Oh, my God, I hate you. I hate you." But then after years and years pass - But then at the track meet he falls and then he gets - Oh, no no no! At the track meet Pomu is running but then she falls and she gets a little hurt but she still finishes and then he, like, runs to her side and says, "Po... Pomu, are you okay?" And she's like, "Why do you care?" And he's like, "I've always cared!"
Pomu: You're getting too into it! This is my life!
  • Frame-Up: During a spontaneous Among Us collab, Pomu is debating with chat if she can kill in front of Luca and talk her way out of it. She successfully pushes the blame on Luca and gets him ejected.
  • "Freaky Friday" Flip: On Friday September 23rd, 2022, Pomu and Selen switched models and their channels during the day. They each played their signature games on the other's channel; Pomu played Minecraft on Selen's channel, and Selen played Apex Legends on Pomu's channel. The two even mentioned this trope by name.
  • Fun with Acronyms: During her first "Fix It, Pomu!" stream, when faced with a difficult financial question from a fan, she invents the company Stocks Contract Auction Market, or S.C.A.M. for short. She has since opened up a new venture - Spaghetti Comes At Midnight - which has a very exclusive window for pasta orders (12:00-12:01am in her Eastern time zone) and requires an invite code.
  • Genki Girl: That Pomu BIG PP energy certainly seems to keep her popping.
  • Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: She's a bubbly and cheery girl with a love for cute things, maids, and idols, though these interests make her lean more towards the Otaku Surrogate side and she's a big fan of the Metal Gear franchise. Fittingly enough, she Used to Be a Tomboy when she was younger.
  • Idol Singer: Subverted. She's not an idol now, but she once got a chance to become one in the past but declined, and she's very well informed of the idol culture. She's taught her chat numerous types of wotagei on a stream, and she made a voice tweet of her chanting a wotagei for Diamond City Lights. That wotagei would later become deeply associated with the song, to the point that other livers would sing it in karaoke streams, and it would be sung by the livers during concerts themselves, despite wotagei being normally sung by the audience. The wotagei is now officially part of Diamond City Lights's lyrics via the 3D version of the song. Naturally, Pomu's songs in her 3D debut are performed in idol-esque fashion, more so than her other two genmates.
  • A Kind of One: In one stream, she suggests that she is just one of many Pomus. Elira has fun with this trope, stating that she and everyone else is Pomu and suggesting that humankind started giving each other different names when they realized that it would be difficult for everyone to answer to "Pomu".
  • Like Brother and Sister: With Luca playing the "annoying little brother" type, especially when playing games together. Crab Game in general tends to set her off against her fellow livers, although it's all in good fun.
  • Mad Libs Catchphrase: "I'm not ___...I'm Pomu!". Which she'll say even when she is the thing she's replacing.
  • Madness Mantra: Invoked many times in the "Minecraft with Elira" mini-arc, most prominently in the former description of the stream titled "【MINECRAFT WITH ELIRA】a totally normal minecraft stream【NIJISANJI EN | Pomu Rainpuff】".
Pomu: hey elira i'm begging you i'm on my knees here pleading please play minecraft with me tonight i am seriously begging here I am going to pass away please help minecraft is the only cure please elira
  • Oh, Crap!: During a Minecraft stream, she tames a cat that's been placed on a lead, not seeing the sign that had been placed nearby indicating it was claimed. When chat told her she was stealing, she said it was no big deal because she thought it wasn't technically claimed, and she thought that if it were, it was by Millie, who already owns a plethora of cats, while she didn't have one yet. Chat then elaborated and told her it was Petra's. Cue a moment of this, complete with Stunned Silence.
  • Painting the Medium: During her playthroughs of Doom and Doom II, Pomu resized and positioned her avatar on top of the status bar face, replacing Doomguy's portrait with her own.
  • Panty Shot: Happens whenever she's in 3D. There will always be one or more moments of her accidentally revealing her grandma bloomers. During her 3D debut, her skirt somehow disappears for a few seconds, revealing the entirety of her bloomers.
  • Pointy Ears: Fairies like her have pointed ears.
  • Power Trio: LazuLight aside, Pomu has formed a couple of other trios with her fellow livers in NIJISANJI.
    • Niji Wings, with Selen and Enna.
    • The Woo Girls, a.k.a. the Woo Gods, with Selen and Rosemi.
    • Team MLP, with Millie and Luca. Originally, the team was formed for the EN quiz show, but the group stuck later on.
    • PMS (yes, seriously), with Mysta and Selen.
  • The Rival: Not Pomu herself, but when the subject of athletics came up among LazuLight, Pomu mentioned she was a long distance runner when she was younger, and goes on to describe a boy her age who she became obsessively competitive with. After Luxiem's debut, we learn early on that Luca had a very similar rivalry with a girl his age who lived in his neighborhood, thus fans joke about them being childhood rivals. Soon enough, the two of them do develop some sort of rivalry, which is not only acknowledged by their fans, but also their fellow livers.
  • Running Gag: Pomu is sometimes referred to as a member of "Ninisani" based on Pomu's frequent typos on Twitter, especially one where she welcomes Rosemi to "Ninisani". For her part, Pomu created a giant "Pomu 2232" sign in Minecraft as a play on Nijisanji's Goroawase Number "2434".
  • Secret Test of Character: Pomu posted a video urging viewers to dislike it and appeared to be disappointed that more than 75% of viewers liked it anyway. She would later state that those liked the video anyway were promoted to "Pomu Tier 2" while everyone else needs more training.
  • Signature Laugh: After a marathon stream where Pomu sang "God Knows" 101 times, her laugh for the many streams that follow became a squeaky giggle that has been compared to a dolphin or windshield wipers.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: As Pomu describes it, her rival drove her crazy because not only would he always beat her, he had the obnoxious habit of always doing to same thing she was doing at the exact same time. She also reveals in a later stream that their mothers are friends and that Pomu can potentially get in touch with him again, but she doesn't want to.
  • Sizeshifter: Pomu is 9 cm tall in fairy form but can take on another (still fairly short) human sized form.
  • Shipper on Deck: If Selen's Fujosanji stream is anything to go by, Pomu ships Luca and Ike.
  • Split Personality: "Da Pomky", a Pomu with a hat and mustache that appears during art streams.
  • Straight Man: Her dynamic with some of the more out-there members, specially Finana, has her playing the role of the tsukkomi fairly often.
  • Stunned Silence: She goes dead silent during the Sudden Downer Ending of her second Minecraft stream, after her cat friend "Pomusuke" drowns trying to enter her boat house. She then breaks into Tears of Remorse. In a later stream she explained that she had lost a cat in real life earlier in the year and this brought back memories.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • Pomu had planned an early-morning (in her timezone) "Get Ready with Pomu" stream, where she would stream for a short while before she went to her non-Vtuber-related job. She had scheduled a tweet for an hour prior to the start time that ended with "I'll wake up soon..." She overslept the start time by nearly two hours and could only stream for about 15 minutes before she had to leave for work.
    • "This room is cool."
(Moments before entering the circular arena sequence involving lots and lots of Arsenal Tengu troops, coupled with the unforgettable Fission Mailed moments as well, confusing her further as the fight goes on.
    • "I can do it. Let's do it, let's do it. Let's snipe this guy. Let's snipe this guy."
(Once again done in MGS3 when she's standing on the cliff overlooking the large Groznyj Grad facility. Doesn't take a genius to figure out what happens when she fires directly at someone in the vicinity of a heavily-fortified base...)
  • Tomboy: She grew up as one, mentioning that she was a Girl Scout whose friends were all Boy Scouts. She stated that, at some point, she grew to appreciate more feminine things such as cute clothes.
  • Tsundere: At the end of one Minecraft stream, she talks about a childhood neighbor who, while nice, constantly upstaged her in track-and-field and so was considered her rival. When chat insisted that one or both of them had a crush, she vehemently denied it before becoming flustered, calling up her ending card at least twice, insisting that she was not a Tsundere, and reading the rest of the stream's donations in an angry voice.
  • Winged Humanoid: They fold down so they're not usually visible from her normal waist-up position on stream, but she has a pair of fairy wings behind her.
  • Woman of a Thousand Voices: Pomu has been shown to have a very flexible vocal range, not only having her usual high perky voice, but also being able to have a deep Onee-san voice.

I don't like VTubers.

A reocurring character on Pomu's channel. Frogbert is Pomu's...amphibious acquaintance that often appears when Pomu is mysteriously not around.

"That's you guys."

Elira takes the opportunity to mock her audience.

How well does it match the trope?
