     Director Kurono Shinguji (née Takizawa)
Voiced by: Mariko Higashiuchi (Japanese), Kelly Manison (English)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kurono_comments_on_ikkis_blunder.jpg
Rank: A
Device: Unnamed
Nickname: World Clock
The new director of Hagun Academy, Kurono is a young woman in her mid to upper twenties. In learning of Ikki Kurogane's situation, she immediately fired all the faculty who were in on the plot and altered the curriculum to end any chance of discrimination using school policies.
  • Benevolent Boss: She's always friendly and understanding in her charges.
  • Big Good: She is the benevolent director of Hagun Academy.
  • Cool Teacher: She has taken a liking to Ikki and supports his dream of becoming a strong Blazer.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: She wears a black suit and is one of the good guys.
  • Guns Akimbo: She wields a pair of black and white guns.
  • The Gunslinger: She is extremely capable of using guns in battle.
  • Happily Married: Confirmed by Tsukikage, who mentions that her last name used to be Takizawa. Not only that, but she has a child.
  • Healing Hands: Her time manipulation can be used to reverse wounds.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: She didn't use her Noble Art in her offscreen duel with Ikki, instead of relying solely on close combat ability.
  • It Amused Me: The reason she doesn't tell either Stella or Ikki about them sharing a room.
  • Reality Warper: The reason her Noble Art, World Crisis, is banned is that it can permanently damage the space of the area it's used on.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: One of her first inclinations as director was to fire all of the teachers and faculty who had a hand in keeping Ikki Kurogane held back the previous year.
  • Retired Badass: She won the Seven Stars Sword Art Festival and became one of the third top-ranking Blazers in the King of Knights A-League before she retired.
  • The Rival: Was one to Nene.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In the anime's first episode, when Stella is going to burn Ikki out of anger, Kurono calmly leaves her office. She comes back in after the situation quickly blows over.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: In response to Tsukikage's Shut Up, Kirk! line in his section, Kurono reminds him that it's too soon for him to declare victory since his students have yet to win the tournament.
Kurono: "In that case, I can still crush your ambitions through my students, without having to do anything myself."
  • Smoking Is Glamorous: She is often seen smoking a cigarette.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: She calls Ikki on what he did when he first encountered Stella in their apartment in Volume 1.

     Yuri Oreki
Voiced by: Izumi Kitta (Japanese), Molly Searcy (English)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yuuri_introducing_herself.jpg
Rank: C
Device: Unnamed
Nickname: Violet Pain
Teacher of Year One - Class 1 and Ikki's previous homeroom teacher. She was one of the few teachers who sympathized with Ikki's plight but due to her weak constitution, she couldn't do anything against the other teachers.
  • Badass Teacher: She puts up a decent fight against Ikki in Volume 0, to the point of disarming him when he uses Ittou Shura.
  • Blood from the Mouth: Yuri spills out quite a mouthful of blood shortly after her introduction as Ikki and Stella's homeroom teacher. They take her to the nurse's office afterward and she tells them this happens regularly. Seems to be mostly Played for Laughs, though students do tend to worry about how much she coughs up.
  • Delicate and Sickly: She may have had a chronic illness since birth, but it doesn't detract from her looks and curvaceous body.
  • Establishing Character Moment: When Yuri is introduced, she informs her students about the upcoming duels while exhausted and then vomits blood.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: Seems like she doesn't get enough sleep despite constantly laying in bed due to losing so much blood.
  • First-Name Basis: She has students address her by her first name.
  • Genki Girl: Invokes this trope, despite her constitution.
  • Insistent Terminology: If you don't address her as Yuri-chan, she'll ignore you.
  • Karmic Jackpot: As the only teacher who treated Ikki kindly in his first year, she's implied to be one of the few, if only, teachers to not be fired by Director Kurono.
  • Nice Girl: She's a kind person in general, and is one of the few teachers who backed Ikki up, with him explicitly stating she is the main reason he can attend the academy in the first place.
  • Overdrawn at the Blood Bank: She vomits one liter of blood per day.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: She often treats Ikki fairly from day one.
  • Sensei-chan: She tries way too hard to act cute in front of her students.
  • Synchronization: Her special ability allows her and her opponent to share the same pain. This works in her favor because she's more used to feeling pain than most people.

     Nene Saikyou
Voiced by: Yuka Iguchi (Japanese), Hilary Haag (English)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nene_greets_ikki.jpg
Rank: A
Device: Unnamed
Nickname: Demon Princess
The Japanese representative to the Olympics for Blazers, as well as a KOK note  top contender, Nene is an extremely popular Blazer. She comes to the school on a teaching commission from Kurono and she immediately set her 'sights' on Ikki.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: She is the third top-ranking Blazer in the King of Knights A-League and a teacher at Hagun Academy, and is also a badass fighter.
  • Colony Drop: Houdou Tensei uses gravity to drop space debris on the enemy, which is banned because it's as powerful as a nuke.
  • Combat Hand Fan: Nene's device consists of a pair of iron fans.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Comes off at first as an incompetent comic relief buffoon. Later turns out to be an immensely powerful A-rank Blazer.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Dark brown hair and eyes.
  • Dual Wielding: She wields two fans in combat.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She has a prominent appearance in the first episode watching Ikki and Stella's duel.
  • Flash Step: Has a version of this where she uses confusing footwork to make her opponent unconsciously fail to register her movements.
  • Gravity Master: She can control gravity to weigh down her opponents or drop meteors.
  • High-Class Fan: She's often seen dressed in a kimono and carrying a paper fan in her hand, giving her the look of a classy Japanese lady.
  • Hime Cut: She has blunt bangs, hip-length sidelocks, and ankle-length straight hair. The hairstyle provides her with the image of a Japanese lady.
  • Hot for Student: She propositioned Ikki within 5 minutes of meeting him. One of the main reasons she accepted the teaching commission was because she'd get to be around young men all the time.
  • Impossibly-Low Neckline: Her kimono tends to hang off her shoulders.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Comes off at first as a petty and immature troll who does nothing but sexually harass female and male students alike. Later turns out to be willing to help out the heroes.
  • Older Than She Looks: She's at least near Kurono's age as they were both in the same year but she looks like a 12-year-old.
  • Skinship Grope: She does this to Stella in episode 10, describing her breasts as "huge" and "super soft."
  • Trickster Mentor: She acts as this for Stella in LN volume 5. She refuses to teach Stella anything and merely beats her up in an effort to force Stella to figure things out on her own.

Students

     Kagami Kusakabe
Voiced by: Yuuka Aisaka (Japanese), Shannon Emerick (English)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kagami_approaches_ikki.jpg
A 1st-year student who starts a newspaper club.

  • Alliterative Name: Kagami Kusakabe.
  • Cute Bookworm: While debatable of the "bookworm" part, Kagami is nevertheless a beautiful girl with a curvaceous body.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She appears during Ikki's bout with Stella in the anime's first episode.
  • Idiot Hair: She has a couple of hair strands sticking out from the top of her head.
  • Intrepid Reporter: She is always seeking out stories and data about up-and-coming Blazers, to the point where she made the novels' stat sheets.
  • Self-Duplication: How her Blazer ability works, and it's not just limited to herself, but her Noble Art, "Raise Up", can also multiply the effects of other Noble Arts as well.
  • Scary Shiny Glasses: She gets these when she feels like she's uncovered a big story, or uncovered some juicy gossip.
  • She Knows Too Much: She's knocked out and tied up by Alice when she discovers the identities of all the Akatsuki members.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: It shows how she manages to create the stat sheets out-of-universe.
  • Stealth Expert: She is heavily implied to be one, especially when she witnesses Ikki's non-tournament duel with Kuraudo without being noticed by anyone.

     Shizuya Kirihara
Voiced by: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Japanese), Blake Shepard (English)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_shizuya.png
2nd Year
Rank:C
Device: Oborotsuki
Nickname: Hunter
The Hunter. He was a top-ranked student last year, considered the best among the freshmen at the time.
  • Achilles' Heel: His "Area Invisibility" only makes him and his arrows invisible to the naked eye, so if his opponents use AoE attacks with an added Splash Damage, he's basically screwed. Also, if his opponents are keen enough, they can sense his position as well.
  • Aesop Amnesia: In volume 17, he's shown to not changed his fatalistic outlook after his defeat, and only sees Ikki's victories as the latter being lucky rather than skilled.
  • Always Second Best: Due to his over-reliance on his Noble Art, he'll never amount to Ikki, a fact that Stella acknowledges to Shizuya. Both fall under Crippling Overspecialization, but Ikki uses his head to overcome his weaknesses while Shizuya shuts down the moment his invisibility fails him.
  • Antagonist Abilities: Invisibility, Stealth Expert, Improbable Aiming Skills, and Long-Range Fighter. The perfect counter to Ikki's melee fighting style.
  • Barbaric Bully: He's Ikki's primary tormenter at Hagun Academy. Not only did he have Ikki hospitalized during the latter's first year, but he managed to mock him in their duel towards the end of volume 1.
  • Break the Haughty: He was in literal tears just moments before Ikki slashed at him.
  • The Bus Came Back: He hasn't made an appearance since the first volume, but has reappeared sixteen volumes later where he's been training for an upcoming rematch against Ikki..
  • Can't Catch Up: Volume 17 reveals that he's been undergoing training for an eventual rematch against Ikki as Revenge while also believing that the latter was only "lucky" to defeat him in Volume 1. It seems that Shizuya has not been getting the memo of Ikki's accomplishments this late into the series, never mind that he's a Desperado.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: He was initially a crowd-favorite and everyone knows that he cheats, especially Ikki.
  • Chick Magnet: Until the ending of his duel with Ikki.
  • Combat Pragmatist: He takes full advantage of his long-range Device and his ability to become transparent to take down his melee-orientated opponents. He's also not above Trash Talk and mind games to emotionally devastate his opponents as well.
  • Confusion Fu: Shizuya's Blazer ability to become invisible and having the advantage of range to hit his opponents at unexpected angles makes him a formidable foe.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: While "Area Invisibility" and the use of his weapon, Oborotsuki, gives him an advantage against opponents like Ikki, Kirihara can be located if the opponent either uses wide-area attacks or is keen enough to sense his position. As a long-range fighter, he is also helpless against those who specialize in close-range attacks.
  • Cruel Mercy: Downplayed in that the teachers probably would have healed him regardless if he was dealt a fatal injury, but Ikki chooses not to injure him at all with his winning blow, instead just barely grazing his nose to make him faint from the horror in front of the school. This ends up humiliating Kirihara more than if he did receive an injury.
  • Dirty Coward: Acts brave and "heroic" while he has the absolute advantage and sadistically brutalized Ikki. However, the moment Ikki fights back and has a chance of beating him, he breaks down and begs for mercy.
  • Dramatic Irony: He relishes inflicting pain onto others, but can't stand to endure pain himself. All it takes is a tiny one millimeter cut to the nose to make Kirihara faint.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He appears during the first episode of the anime watching the battle between Ikki and Stella.
  • Evil Redhead: He has red hair and he isn't the nicest person.
  • Fatal Flaw: His overconfidence and utter reliance on his Noble Art causes him to lose his duel with Ikki.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Downplayed, since he lacks the self-control to feign kindness for long periods. He claims he's a Friendly Rival to Ikki, but he can't keep up the facade for more than a few sentences before insulting his supposed "friend".
  • Green Thumb: The anime gives him the ability to summon a forest, which gives him more vantage points.
  • Hate Sink: His constant humiliation and violence towards Ikki are supposed to make Stella and the readers/viewers cheer for the protagonist when he finally wins.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: His Noble Art against Ikki and creating a stir in their duel by having the audience chanting Ikki's nickname ends up causing Stella's inevitable Anguished Declaration of Love. Ikki uses this as his Heroic Second Wind to finally defeat Kirihara and crush his overconfidence.
  • Hypocrite: He mocks Ikki for forfeiting against him last year, though he did the same against an opponent in the Sword Art festival. He also calls Ikki a coward for being "afraid" of fighting him but is soon begging for mercy as the latter can counter against all of his arrows.
  • Invisibility: His overall Blazer ability; especially his Noble Art, Area Invisibility, grants this not only to Kirihara but also to his arrows as well.
  • Jerkass: Not only is he a jerk to Ikki, but he also tries to slander Stella by claiming her match with Ikki was fixed. Stella doesn't like Kirihara personally when she first meets him, and learning about the nature of his Noble Art and weapon of choice increases this dislike.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: After getting away with tormenting and beating the crap out of Ikki in their Selection Match, Kirihara gets his first major comeuppance when Ikki overpowers him at the end of said match.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Kirihara's fighting style is mainly composed of being completely invisible to his opponents, and shooting them with magic arrows.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • His first name is translated as "Still Arrow", referencing his Oborotsuki.
    • His title is "The Hunter", which fits his fighting style and Blazer ability.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: The Hunter is a very scary name.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: His mockery of Ikki for being "The Worst One" during their duel ends up causing Stella's Shut Up, Hannibal! and Ikki's Heroic Second Wind.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown:
  • Oh, Crap!: When Ikki has his Heroic Second Wind and gains the upper hand against him.
  • It's Personal: In Volume 17, he intends to fight Ikki again after the events of their Selection Match.
  • Psycho for Hire: Downplayed in that he's not an assassin, but he was hired by the Kurogane clan to obstruct Ikki. Given his attitude, it's unlikely that he needed anyone to tell him to torment Ikki anyway.
  • Rain of Arrows: His "Million Rain" attack causes one arrow to explode into many. Then Kagami multiplies it up to ten times.
  • Red Right Hand: A meta example. While all of the character stat sheets show a complete illustration of those it presents, Kirihara's the only one that presents him as a crude sketch, which makes it obvious that he's not a good person. He does, however, gets a proper illustration in Volume 17.
  • Slasher Smile: Gives a disturbing one as he continues to torment Ikki in their battle.
  • Smug Snake: He gets extremely cocky around Ikki, having qualified as a Hagun Academy representative for the Seven Star Sword Art Festival the previous year, and claiming Ikki ran away from him during a fight. Ikki later clarifies to Stella that he simply chose not to fight back. Doing so would have given the previous director an excuse to expel him, due to pressure from his family not wanting him to be there at all.
  • Starter Villain: He is the first villain Ikki encounters in Volume 1 as well as the series in general.
  • Stealth Expert: What makes Kirihara so terrifying is his Blazer ability to become invisible and that he uses a bow to shoot opponents from a distance makes him the strongest student in his first year.
  • Token Evil Teammate: He's pretty much this among the Hagun students, especially when the Union comes to invade Japan in Volume 17.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Downplayed. While Kirihara does have a certain degree of skill in archery to fire his arrows, he mostly relies on the flawless camouflage of his Noble Art to beat his opponents. This gets deconstructed in his fight against Ikki, who the latter manages to see through his invisibility, leaving Kirihara practically defenseless as he keeps trying to spam his attacks which Ikki is also able to counter his arrows with ease.
  • Villainous Breakdown: He completely breaks down after Ikki gains the advantage during their fight. Since his invisibility isn't working anymore, Kirihara uses his Million Rain attack to launch multiple arrows at once, but it's ineffective. Kirihara then starts wildly darting around to find an escape, all while begging for mercy from Ikki. As a last resort, thinking Ikki is going to kill him, Kirihara starts crying and screams that he will forfeit the fight. Ikki only leaves Kirihara with a small cut on the nose, but this is enough to make Kirihara faint from shock. The result is that Kirihara's reputation takes a massive blow after he's exposed as a Dirty Coward.
  • Villains Want Mercy: The moment Ikki saw through him, and by extension his techniques, he wastes no time begging for mercy. He outright screams for Ikki not to harm him, to the disgust of his Girl Posse.
  • Wake-Up Call Boss: He sets the pace for foes that have an overwhelming advantage against Ikki's pure melee style, to the point where he fared better than the Sword Eater himself.
  • Weapon-Based Characterization: It's very fitting for a Dirty Coward who's afraid of taking pain to use a bow for long-range attacks.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: While he does shoot Ikki, Kirihara purposefully avoids finishing shots to drag out Ikki's suffering, which screws him over once Ikki regains his composure.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_ayase.png
3rd Year
Rank: D
Device: Hizume
Nickname: N/A

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: The manga and light novels have her hair black. In the anime, her hair is a very dark shade of blue.
  • Alliterative Name: Ayase Ayatsuji
  • Badass Adorable: While a coldly beautiful and skilled warrior, her sadness and vulnerability concerning the loss of her father's dojo and childhood home makes one want to hold and protect her.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While she's certainly kind, her constant failure to beat Kuraudo causes her to resort to cheating against Ikki.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: She sets up a rather intricate minefield with her Noble Art and forces Ikki to exhaust Ittou Shura before the match starts. Despite this, she ends up losing not because her cheating got exposed but because her guilt distracts her from fighting properly.
  • Counter-Attack: Her sword technique puts an emphasis on counter-attacks.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: In the anime's first episode, Ayase watches Ikki's bout with Stella.
  • Establishing Character Moment: She stalks Ikki by hiding under trees and when she is discovered, Ayase gets shocked and trips into a pond.
  • Foil: She's a lower-ranked knight with a famous sword style who has suffered hardship and defeat just like Ikki. However, while Ikki continues to maintain his optimism and determination, Ayase eventually resorts to cheating to try and win. Also unlike Ikki, she's very close to her father which is a contrast to the chilly relationship in Ikki's family.
  • Heiress To The Dojo: Unfortunately, she has to get the dojo back.
  • Hiding Behind Your Bangs: Her bangs almost completely cover her right eye. Due to her shyness around boys, she gets so anxious she can barely look at Ikki at first, but gets over it after they start to train together.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: Ikki asks Oreki to decline to punish her for her cheating, but Ayase reports herself anyway.
  • Oh, Crap!: She is surprised when Ikki and his friends discover her hiding under the trees.
  • Razor Wind: She can use her ability to cause a delayed version of this.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Towards Kuraudo for putting her father in a coma.
  • Semantic Superpower: Her Blazer ability is to manipulate the concept of "Wounds", allowing her to make any wounds inflicted onto a living being or inorganic object by her Device more severe.
  • Shipper on Deck: She fully supports Ikki and Stella's relationship, and provides Stella with much-needed advice and assistance.
  • Shrinking Violet: Subverted. Ayase is noted to be shy and gets very nervous around boys. However, her nervousness seems to disappear when she trains as she becomes comfortable around Ikki when they practice sword techniques together.
  • Stalker without a Crush: She stalks Ikki because she wants to get tips for her sword technique. Though her father states that she did develop a crush, she's already stopped stalking him by then.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: She's described as this by Ikki upon their first meeting.

     President Toka Todo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_touka.png
3rd Year
Rank: B
Device: Narukami
Nickname: Raikiri

The Student Council President of Hagun Academy. This bespectacled young woman is among one of the strongest Blazers of her generation at Hagun Academy.

  • The Ace: She was one of the previous Hagun representatives to the Seven Stars Sword Art Festival and is the strongest one in the school until her match with Ikki.
  • Accent Relapse: When she gets angry at the student council members for goofing off, she switches to her accent.
  • Alliterative Name: Touka Toudou
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: She's the Student Council President and Hagun's strongest fighter.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: She can see electrical brain signals to predict her opponent's actions.
  • Badass Adorable: A sweet, cuddly, kind and cheerful big-sister who cares for and looks after her juniors like a loving mother who also happens to be a walking abbatoir that can carve through armies like a hot knife through butter.
  • Benevolent Boss: Being student council president doesn't prevent Toka from being very down to earth, respectful, humble, and kind to everyone.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: A sweet, loving and kind-hearted mother to orphaned children, and irrefutably the deadliest and most feared warrior of her generation.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: She's an easily flustered big sister who is prone to hilarious accidents, but is the greatest warrior throughout the academy to not only make Ikki and the Seven Star Sword King nervous, but is able to one-shot her opponents by calling down the lightning.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Has poor eyesight without her glasses.
  • Childhood Friends: She sort of grew up with fellow student council members Kanata and Utakata
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Her non-combat appearance involves tripping while carrying a huge stack of papers.
  • Determinator: She has a very strong motivation to win than most people, including Ikki, since she is fighting for her orphanage.
  • Disability Superpower: Downplayed. She isn't exactly blind but her Reverse Sight activates because of her poor eyesight after taking off her glasses.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She detests being used as an Unwitting Pawn in turning against Ikki.
  • Flash Step: She also uses the same trackless step as Nene. Since they both trained under the same master.
  • Friendly Rival: With Ikki and Stella in the selection tournament.
  • Friend to All Children: She's a hero to her orphanage and fights for their happiness.
  • The Glasses Come Off: She takes off her glasses whenever she gets serious.
  • Honor Before Reason: While she acknowledges during her battle with Ikki that if she dodged his attack she would win, yet chooses to instead face his strike head on.
  • Iaijutsu Practitioner: Her signature technique, Raikiri, uses magnetism to boost the power and speed of her draw. It's so powerful to the point that the previous Seven Stars champion didn't want to be hit by it.
  • Idiot Hair: She has a cowlick standing atop her head.
  • The Klutz: Outside of battle, she's very clumsy.
  • Lightning Can Do Anything: She can use it to enhance her muscles, read her opponent's brains, and enhance her iaijutsu.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Essentially the third-year equivalent of Stella when it comes to "embarrassingly comedic situations" and adorably-sexy official art.
  • Nice Girl: Toka is a kind-hearted girl who was inspired by her late parents' upbringing to gain power so that she can be a strong and loving mother to orphans and children who are born less fortunate than she was.
  • Oh, Crap!: She gets this expression when Ouma not only No-Sell both of her strongest Noble Arts, but witness the amount of scars on his body that tells out harden experience.
  • Power Incontinence: She can't touch electronic devices due to her high bioelectricity content which will short-circuit them.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Very much so. Shown in her detest of being an unwitting pawn in the scheme against Ikki.
  • Single-Stroke Battle: Her match against Ikki is decided in a single strike, and she loses. She has no hard feelings about it.
  • Shadow Archetype: To Ikki; both are kind-hearted and the finest warriors of their respective genders, yet whereas Ikki's kindness stems from the sadness of abuse by cruel and still living parents, Toka's kindness comes from the warm and loving upbringing of her late-parents.
  • Shock and Awe: Her element, which she's very versatile in use, allowing her to be a menace at all ranges.
  • Student Council President: She serves as the leader of Hagun Academy's student council.
  • Unwitting Pawn: In volume 3, she discovers that she's being used by the Ethics Committee to discredit Ikki. Fortunately, the scheme is exposed shortly after their duel.
  • The Worf Effect: She's a very powerful Blazer who can make both Ikki and the Seven Star Sword King nervous in a fight, but her one-sided defeat at the hands of Ouma Kurogane really shows just how powerful the latter is and how his own training methods and real-life battle experience have created a significant gap between them.
  • Worthy Opponent: With Ikki, which is why she's uncomfortable with being used as an Unwitting Pawn in the Ethics Committee's scheme against him.

  • Hidden Depths: On the surface, Kanata seems like a standard Lady of War: polite, proper, kicking ass when need be, and not much else. What most people don't know is that she's also a fun-loving prankster who's eager to know what it means to be in love and doesn't quite know how kissing works.
  • Ojou: Kanata was born into a wealthy and influential family, and is expected to take part in ensuring its continued success. Part of the reason she isn't as bitter as she ought to be about her Arranged Marriage is that she knows that her family does a lot to help the people of Japan, and this is her way of contributing to their efforts.
  • Ojou Ringlets: She's a high-class lady with ringlets falling in front of her shoulders.
  • Parasol of Prettiness: She's always carrying around a frilly parasol that plays up her gracefulness.
  • The Prankster: She admits to Ikki that she enjoys pranking other people for fun, and often went along with Utakata's schemes when they were younger.
