Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

Go To

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

  • creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
  • moving discussion pages
  • moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
  2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
  3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
  4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
  5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
  6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
  7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
  8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
  9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
  10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

~GoldenDarkness, added with some tweaks. The primary objection is the already lengthy description. As such, didn't include "some of them even rumored to have been advised by Square to drop Nintendo" and "But the most significant ports releases occurred in 2019, with this game, along with other Play Station exclusive Final Fantasy installments, coming to Microsoft's Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch, the latter release being a huge turning-point for the Nintendo fanbase." The former is speculation; the latter is written oddly, past tense for a future anticipated event.

[up]Done.

Ok. I was trying to find to a way to write that latter statement there wouldn't be any future edits to the Final Fantasy VII article as needed.

Would a less wordy statement be something like this?

Then in 2019, VII, along with other PS1 and PS2-era installments, are set to be released on Microsoft's Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.

If not, then maybe can you do these tweaks to the article instead?

Delete "(yes, that Madhouse)"

Change "A remake titled Final Fantasy VII Remake" to "A remake titled Final Fantasy VII Remake for Play Station 4

Add "at the time" at the end of "given he didn't have a major presence on Nintendo's platforms"

[up][up] Actually, don't unlock Laconic. All Your Colors Combined and Laconic.Clarkes Law For Girls Toys since they use text colors that aren't supported anymore like yellow and orange.

Correct "transgendered" to "transgender" on both Monster.Wallander and YMMV.Tumblr, since "transgender" is an adjective, not a verb. On the latter, remove the invalid wiki word on MRAs.

At Comic Books: A to H, for Hack Slash, for Rodin, please remove the sadist pothole.

EDIT: Slight rewrites for Shin Megami Tensei, last section (Belberith's entry is fine):

  • Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers: Kadokura is the CEO of technology giant AlgonSoft and one of the most influential men in Japan. Though beloved by the public for his useful products and philanthropy, this masquerade hides a twisted man devoted to world domination. Prior to the start of the story, Kadokura had discovered Manitou, supreme god of the Native Americans, and decided to use his power for his own ends. Kadokura founds Amami City, a state-of-the art seaside metropolis, and Paradigm X, a totally-virtual city that can be accessed by Amami's computers, as an excuse to get millions of people into one place to sacrifice their souls to Manitou; the chips that run the virtual city are infused with demonic power, sending the souls of the players via cyberspace to feed the sleeping god. By the end of the game, most of the city's population has had their souls removed. When he meets the heroes for the first time, he falsely blames everything on his demon partners Azazel and Satanael, then after the heroes kill them he thanks them for saving him the trouble of doing it himself. When the heroes finally corner him, he swallows a number of souls himself to power himself up. Willing to exploit everyone from ordinary citizens to a creator god, Kadokura has no place in his heart for anything other than his own rise to the top.
  • Digital Devil Saga duology: Serph Sheffield, when placed in charge of the Karma Society's God Project, began using everyone and anything around him in his quest to attain the power of God for himself. He uses Sera's growing love for him to push her Psychic Powers into further maturation, only to express disgust at Seras creation of a virtual paradise consisting of AIs she uses to escape the pain of his experiments. When Colonel Beck proposed to change Seras paradise into a training simulation for creating stronger AIs, Serph overrides Heat O'Brien's warning against destroying Seras mental condition and tells Beck to proceed. After a desperate Heat pulls a gun and demands the project to stop, Serph tells Heat that a human's mind is no different than a machine, and that his subjects, including Sera, were expendable and could be replaced, before manipulating Argilla into killing Heat. After being turned into a demon by a heartbroken Sera, sending a massive data surge into the now black Sun, Serph goes on a killing spree starting with Beck and Argilla before being killed offscreen. Refusing to accept that he is dead, he re-appears at the EGG facility as Solar Data and tries to kill the AI Serph and Heat while proclaiming to have the power of God. A cruel and manipulative young man, his actions are largely responsible for the disasters plaguing the series.

At that same page, for Shido (Persona 5), please move The Heavy pothole to his name.

And one more for now:

  • Persona 2: Eternal Punishment: Tatsuzou Sudou is the Japanese Foreign Minister and leader of the New World Order, a cult planning to reach the world of the Gods. Tatsuzuo, however, has more selfish ambitions. Using his own group to conduct crimes, which include framing the father of two of the main characters; unethical experiments resulting in humans turning into monsters; and attempted murder to Baofu, which resulted in his assistant's death, he furthers the ambition of New World Order while hiding it from the public. To that end he also sends his insane son Tatsuya Sudou to a mental hospital in order to lock him up from the public eye, and when he finds out he escaped sends the Taiwanese Mafia to kill him. Once the New World Order succeeds in their goal in activating a spaceship to use to reach God, this also causes the world outside the spaceship, which is the city they reside in, to be in danger from a natural disaster that can wipe out humanity, something Tatsuzuo is aware of. After reaching this far, Tatsuzuo betrays his loyal companions by mutating or killing them, while sending out demons to take down the heroes.

A de-potholing for both Disney (near the end) AND Other Media (also near the end):

  • The Haunted Mansion: Constance Hatchaway is a malevolent ghost in a house full of playful spirits. Constance is The Bride with a Past, as in life she was a Gold Digger that married wealthy men, and then killed them by beheading them with a hatchet. She spent her adult life marrying and killing over a period of many years until she married George Hightower, the owner of the titular mansion. After marrying and killing him, she decided to settle down in her newly inherited mansion and flaunt her wealth. She eventually died and became a ghost. Seeing no more reason for money, she decided to fully embrace her sadistic love of killing and began attacking and killing others, including other ghosts, who she could kill by beheading because she actually died on the property. Many ghosts fell victim to this until they locked her in the attic. In the ride, guests are confronted by her before escaping out the window. She openly admits to her crimes and has yet to be defeated or destroyed.

De-potholings for Tales Series:

For Tales of Rebirth:

  • Zilva Madigan is the genocidal leader of the Four Stars and the one pulling the strings behind the Kingdom of Callegea to ensure that the Gajuma reign supreme and the Huma are all eradicated. To achieve this, Zilva possessed the body of Dr. Barrs, the most revered doctor in the kingdom, then used it to poison and kill Ladras Lindblum, the King of Karegia. Following this, Zilva used Dr. Barrs's body to attack his good friend, Eugene, forcing Eugene to kill Barrs in self-defense, leading to Eugene's exile for "murder." Afterwards, Zilva began manipulating the naïve daughter of King Ladras, the new queen, Agarte. Zilva convinced Agarte to kidnap beautiful Huma girls for Agarte to switch bodies with, kickstarting the events of the game, and later convinced Agarte to revive Geyorkias, the King of Sacred Beasts. This was all done so that Zilva could take over Callegea and use Geyorkias's power to cleanse the world of Huma.
  • Tohma, one of the aformentioned Zilva's Four Stars, stands out even in comparison to his boss as a vile being, especially for his treatment of two characters, Hilda and her friend Millitsa. Tohma was intrigued in the combat potential of Halves, and so lures out and abducts Hilda from her loving parents and kills her father in one punch when he tries to get her back, laughing at how weak he was. He proceeds to raise Hilda as a Tyke-Bomb, making her and Millitsa—whom Tohma has brainwashed—grow up in an environment where they would be neglected and ignored for being Halves and lies to them about being able to gift them with "pure" bodies if they do as he says. He then trains them to torture and kill while they are still children, abducting people for them to "practice" on. When Hilda breaks off her horns in an attempt to pass as human, Tohma sends her on a suicide mission he fully expects her to fail and reveals he lied to her when she does, making her powers go out of control which could easily kill her. Racist and cruel, he only gets his comeuppance in a Mutual Kill with his partner Saleh, who Tohma kills (allegedly on Zilva's orders) for being Huma.
  • The aforementioned Saleh, Tohma's partner in the Four Stars, is a Boomerang Bigot who willingly goes along with Zilva's plans to eradicate all Huma, despite being one himself. Obsessed with "The power of the heart," he aims to destroy this power by causing misery and despair wherever he goes, be it by hurting civilians for no reason or by deliberately heightening tensions between Huma and Gajuma—said tensions powering an Eldritch Abomination. No one is safe from his malice, including children or the comic relief villains, whom he brainwashes into attacking the heroes until they either kill them or die trying. Cruel and twisted, he is disposed of as the first human to die as part of Zilva's plan, and as he lies dying he kills his partner Tohma as one last cruel act.

Tales of Legendia:

  • Vaclav Bolud, the Evil Prince of the Crusand Empire, ultimately wants to Take Over the World. Vaclav first sends out Senel Coolidge to capture the Merines that control Legacy, a small continent that acts as a ship, in order to seize Legacy for himself. When Senel befriends the Merines instead of capturing them, Vaclav launches an all-out assault on the Village of the Ferines. Though Vaclav doesn't capture his targets, he does kill many of the Ferines and kidnaps Stella Telmes, the Merines sister, because he views her as useful. Trapping her in suspended animation, Vaclav turned Stella into a proto-Merines and used her to control the Legacy, with the ultimate goal of using Legacy's Nerifes Cannon to destroy the Holy Rexalian Empire. Vaclav also committed genocide against the Orerines people and performed vicious experiments on them in special camps.

Tales of Vesperia:

  • The game's English version removes the positive traits of Alexei Dinoia, Commandant of the Imperial Knights. He betrays his Empire in an attempt to conquer the world. To accomplish this, he orchestrates a genocide of the Entelexeia, the race that protects the world, so he can harvest the powerful apatheia from their corpses. Two of his minions are forced to obey him because he will shut off their artificial hearts at the first sign of defiance. He tortures Estelle, a member of the royal family he was sworn to serve, to force her to use her powers to activate Zaude, an ancient superweapon. Using Estelle for this purpose floods Zaphias, the capital city of the Empire, with deadly aer and vicious monsters.
  • Alexander Cumore, a captain of the Imperial Knights, is from a noble family and considers peasants to be completely beneath him. When he is placed in charge of the town of Heliord, he tricks peasants into volunteering for brutal labor with the promise of making them nobles. Cumore has no authority to ennoble people and he knows it. The labor these peasants undergo is so brutal that many of them die of exhaustion. Later, Cumore is sent to govern an oasis town to find a monster that lives in the desert. While in this position, he forces the peasants in the town to go into the desert to find the monster, knowing that this will likely kill them.
  • Ragou is the corrupt magistrate of Nor Harbor. Nor Harbor has been experiencing storms, making it hard for the people there to make a living off of the port commerce. To make things worse, Ragou harshly taxes his people. If someone cannot afford his taxes, Ragou sends his mercenaries to take their loved ones—including children—as collateral. He keeps these loved ones in a basement full of monsters. When the heroes confront him over this, he explains that he finds people getting eaten by monsters to be entertaining. Ragou offers only one hope to his people: If they kill a vicious monster and bring back its horn as proof, they will never have to pay taxes again. Of course, this monster would make short work of most people who try to fight it. The heroes eventually discover that the storms around Nor Harbor are created by a special Blastia in Ragou's mansion, showing that he orchestrated the suffering of his people for his own amusement.

Tales of Hearts:

  • Geocron Striegov is first introduced as just a typical Special Ops general under Silver. Shortly into his first appearance, however, he shows glee at torturing people, especially at whipping Kohaku Hearts. Then, when Creed Graphite resurfaced, he suddenly goes turncoat and then join forces with Creed, not caring about the latter's destructive ambition. During the next encounter, Geocron reveals that he is obsessed with collecting the Spiria Cores of living beings, taking great pleasure in seeing the suffering of those who lost their cores, one of them being Silver's daughter Lapis, and the reason why he became an Anti-Villain in the first place. In the end, he willfully Xerom-ized for nothing but power, caring about nothing but his own collection and desires.

Tales of Berseria:

  • Innominat the Suppressor, the 5th Empyrean, mind rapes the entire malak population, turning them into soulless shells and slaves for the human population of the world. He takes great pleasure in both physically and psychologically torturing several victims, including the pirate Aifread and Velvet. Feeding on malevolence, when he gains enough power to do so he begins to mind rape humans into the same state as malakhim, forcing anyone who'd ever sinned to commit Psychic-Assisted Suicide. He has no care for his followers, and when his brother-in-law is killed he does not even shed a tear over him, instead throwing a tantrum over being hungry.

Other Media

For the Theme Parks, please change the appropriate stuff as follows:

  • Halloween Horror Nights:
    • "Clowns 3D": The clown simply known as Sweet Licks was once a normal businessman and entrepreneur, who ran the company/attraction Sweet Licks Family Fun Center and Ice Cream Emporium with his two adult children. However, after the vilification of clowns through horror media, dressing up as clowns to entertain people became a difficult business practice, as no one wanted to shop or even visit their attraction anymore. To make matters worse, the country developed a demand for low-calorie food, resulting in very little people being interested in Sweet Licks's treats. The company fell on hard times, and Sweet Licks became so obsessed with working that he stayed inside the cold factory for years until parts of him became permanently frozen. Filled with rage, Sweet Licks snapped and began killing humans, then turning them into "all natural, high protein ice cream". He then used his attraction to lure in and trap visitors, who he proceeds to kill by hanging from meat hooks or fill with ice cream until they burst, collecting their organs and vomit to use as ingredients. He uses pickaxes and chainsaws to both attack guests and mutilate still-alive victims and other clowns. As guests try to flee, he attacks them again and defeats them.
    • Maximum Carnage: In this 2002 maze attraction based on the comic, the story is altered the story so that Carnage won, killed most of the world's heroes, and took over the planet. Throughout the maze, the guests see bodies of the heroes Carnage killed, including Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Captain America. Eventually, Carnage sends his henchmen after the guests.

Please remove the Forum Warz entry from roleplays.

Rewrite for theater:

Please add the following to Video Games A To K:
  • Forum Warz: PurifyingSelector88, episode 3's Big Bad, is a former Geronimo employee who desires to kill anyone who he considers "undesirable" in order to "purify humanity". He first makes himself known by trying to kill the protagonists and his allies with a sound file containing a literal Brown Note, and it is subsequently revealed that he has done this with others. During the investigation, a tech support worker is killed by the file as a warning to back off. PS88 then tricks the player into pwning the DinkDonkDoink board and deletes the files tracing back to him. He reveals that he has upgraded the brown note to a "Death Note" that makes the sound come from the computer itself, thus not being able to be shut off, and has many test subjects get that far. After testing it on Doctor O, he plans to upload it to an Allen Thicke webcast that would be watched by hundreds of millions. Despite Forumwarz being generally comedic, PS88 manages to be a shockingly dark villain.

Please add the following at the end of Disney:
At A Song of Ice and Fire, please add the spoiler warning found at Sherlock Holmes.
Rewrites for the first folder (please make sure the quote at the end of Gregor's entry is removed):
  • Ser Gregor Clegane, alias "the Mountain that Rides", is a colossal sadist in service to House Lannister and one of the most feared men in Westeros. Rumored to have murdered his sister, father, and two wives, Clegane's confirmed crimes are even more heinous. At twelve, he burned off half of his younger brother Sandor's face when the latter played with one of Gregor's discarded toys. At seventeen, he dashed Prince Aegon's head against a wall, then raped and murdered his mother, Princess Elia, with the baby's brains still on his hands. Introduced at a tournament in A Game of Thrones, Gregor murders one of his opponents, then tries to kill another and his own brother after being unseated in a joust. After tourney, he and his men rape a 13-year-old innkeeper's daughter. Unleashed on the Riverlands, Clegane and his men rape and murder anyone who falls into their hands. At one point in A Clash of Kings, for ten days, Gregor picks one person each day from a group of villagers for "The Tickler" to question until they die from his torture. After one villager volunteers to save her daughter, Clegane has the daughter tortured the next day to make sure the mother didn't leave anything out. In A Storm of Swords, Clegane cuts strips of flesh from Vargo Hoat and feeds them to Hoat, torturing Hoat for days before letting him die. He also smashes a girl's face in for speaking when he wanted silence, then turns her over to his men to be gang-raped for days. In the same book, during a duel with Oberyn Martell, Princess Elia's brother, who asserts that "you raped her, you murdered her, you killed her children", Clegane's only concern is that Oberyn got the order of events wrong, correcting him before brutally crushing Oberyn's skull.
  • Despite his young age, King Joffrey Baratheon stood out as one of the vilest characters in the series. While always shown to have a darker side, Joffrey finally crossed the line when he had Ned Stark executed, ensuring that the war with the Northerners would never reach a peaceful conclusion. Joffrey not only did this in front of Ned's daughter, Sansa, Joffrey's own fiancĂ©e, he then forced her to look at the decapitated heads of her father and household afterwards. This was then followed by a long period of Domestic Abuse during which Joffrey had her regularly beaten by his Kingsguard and threatened to rape her even after she married his uncle, Tyrion. As king, Joffrey reveled in his power over life and death, and his reign was filled with all manner of pointless cruelties. Joffrey's crimes included having a minstrel whose song offended him choose between losing his fingers or his tongue; attempting to have a drunken knight drowned in a cask of wine; firing on starving peasants with his crossbow; ordering his bodyguard to cut through a crowd of peasants to get at one of them who threw manure at him; nailing antlers to the heads of Stannis sympathizers and firing them from trebuchets as entertainment during the Battle of the Blackwater; and attempting to convince his grandfather to execute everyone who fought against him, regardless of whether or not they surrendered. A budding psychopath who believed being the king gave him the right to do whatever he liked, Joffrey's sadism was so great that he was well on his way to surpassing his predecessor as the next Mad King of the Seven Kingdoms.
  • Ramsay Snow, the Bastard of Bolton, stands out as one of the most savage and depraved men in Westeros. Suspected of murdering his good-hearted, trueborn brother, Ramsay first comes to prominence after he forces Lady Hornwood to marry him to gain her lands. Having already starved her to death, Ramsay avoids death at the hands of Winterfell soldiers by impersonating his servant, Reek, then sending his "friend" to die in his place. When Theon Greyjoy takes over Winterfell, the imprisoned Ramsay allies himself with Greyjoy and acts as a corruptive influence, ultimately being the one to convince Theon to cross the line by murdering two little boys to pass them off as Bran and Rickon Stark. Gathering his own forces, Ramsay slaughters Ser Rodrik's Northerner soldiers, then betrays and captures Theon before ordering his men to raze Winterfell and slaughter everyone inside. One of Ramsay's favorite past-times is flaying people alive and he's done this many times, from the people he tortures, to the girls he hunts for fun that give him bad sport, to the surrendering Ironborn forces of Moat Cailin after Ramsay promised them mercy. Ramsay is also responsible for physically and mentally torturing Theon Greyjoy to condition him into a pathetic, insane wretch who believes himself the new Reek. Taking an Arya Stark impersonator as his wife to maintain Bolton control of the North, Ramsay abuses her constantly, despite her usefulness, even forcing Theon to participate in her wedding night bedding. A half-feral beast of a man, Ramsay lives to satisfy his sadistic urges and is so pointlessly and moronically cruel that even his own sociopathic father has to hold himself back from killing him.
  • Craster is a particularly vicious Wildling and ally of the Night's Watch (each of whom identifies him as belonging to the opposing organization) who, in his own words, kneels to no man, including Mance Rayder, King-Beyond-The-Wall. Living alone in a huge, ramshackle compound, Craster keeps a harem of women in line with brainwashing and violence, breaking their spirits until they cannot rise up against him, despite the fact that they vastly outnumber him. All of these women are his "wives"; many of them are also his daughters and granddaughters. When one of them becomes pregnant, Craster waits to see if it is a boy or a girl. If the child is female, he waits until she is old enough—eleven or twelve years old—and does his best to impregnate her. If the child is a boy, Craster leaves him in the woods as sacrifice for the Others. Obsessed with his own hedonism, and raising the next generation of wives, Craster uses his allegiance with the Night's Watch to make sure that nobody, not even the Watch, interferes with his business.

And for the second folder:

  • Gregor Clegane, the Mountain, is the most feared knight in Westeros and works for Tywin Lannister and his family. A violent sadist who had once burned his brother's face for playing with one of his toys, Gregor is introduced in the Hand's tournament where he murders another contender via splintered lance; when Loras Tyrell manages to unhorse him, Gregor slaughters his own horse for failing him and attempts to murder Loras. When Gregor's own brother interferes, Gregor tries to kill him as well. When next seen, Gregor is head of the occupying Lannister forces at Harrenhal where he selects prisoners to be tortured to death by one of his men known as the Tickler. When Harrenhal is lost, Gregor has every prisoner put to the sword, leaving hundreds of corpses for the next arrivals to find. In season 4, Gregor is seen practicing his sword skills by butchering prisoners in wholly one-sided duels before he enters into a Trial by Combat representing the Crown against Prince Oberyn Martell who wishes to force Gregor to confess to the murder of Oberyn's sister Elia and her children. When Gregor gets his hands on Oberyn, he shoves his thumbs through the prince's eyes before squeezing his head until it explodes, wanting to hurt the man as much as possible while he roars out his guilt in killing the children before he raped and murdered Elia.
  • Craster is a particularly nasty Wildling who resides beyond the Wall, making his living as an ally to the Night's Watch by providing them with supplies, shelter and info. Craster delights in antagonizing them, however, hiding behind the fact he's necessary to them to avoid reprisal. What makes Craster sickening is how he rules his self-given kingdom: Craster routinely marries any daughters he has when they come of age, beating and raping his many wives and daughter-wives. If they bear him sons, Craster sacrifices them by leaving them out for the White Walkers. Craster threatens violence on those he can't simply cow into submission and relishes the lack of law beyond the Wall to simply do whatever he wants, even having the audacity to claim he is a "Godly man" when criticized.
  • Ramsay Snow, the bastard son of Lord Roose Bolton and the most vicious member of House Bolton, is a sadist with a knack for torture and flaying others alive. After capturing Winterfell, Ramsay proceeded to play twisted games with the captive Theon Greyjoy, pretending to be an Ironborn agent who comes to save Theon—killing his own men to keep up the ruse—and culminating in Ramsay bringing Theon to the Dreadfort and subjecting him to prolonged, hideous torture, including flaying bits of him and castrating him. All that remains of Theon afterwards is a broken, obedient shell whom Ramsay dubs "Reek." In his spare time, Ramsay and his equally psychotic lover Myranda release girls into the woods to hunt them for sport, also using the girls to feed Ramsay's savage hounds. When Ramsay makes Theon negotiate a surrender with other Ironborn, Ramsay guarantees their safety, only to have them flayed alive and displayed as gruesome trophies. After marrying Sansa Stark, Ramsay rapes her on the wedding night and continues to sexually and physically abuse her throughout the rest of the marriage. Ramsay cements his rule over his hold by murdering Roose and having his hounds eat his infant brother and stepmother. When he finally engages the Northern armies, Ramsay is apathetic to the death of his own men and shoots the preteen Rickon Stark dead—moments before he reaches Jon Snow. With few matching his pointless savagery, Ramsay Snow exemplified every negative stereotypes about bastards in Westeros.
  • Lord Walder Frey, head of House Frey, is a smug old man who nevertheless appears to be little more than a doddering but harmless pervert before the true depths of his treachery are made apparent. In alliance with Tywin Lannister and Roose Bolton, Walder organizes the Red Wedding and oversees the deaths of Robb Stark, his pregnant wife Talisa, Catelyn, and the near-entirety of their bannermen in a full-on massacre whilst nonchalantly drinking from a cup of wine—for the sake of power and getting back at Robb for breaking his wedding vow. Walder coldly dismisses the life of his teenage wife once Catelyn takes her hostage with the logic of "I'll find another" and doesn't so much as blink when her throat is cut in front of him. Walder is entirety unrepentant about his betrayal and destructive fallout caused by it, and cruelly gloats about his victory and the new position of power he's snagged for the rest of his role in the series. Walder is a coward and a backstabber who considers even age-old traditions like guest right irrelevant in the face of personal gain, and is rightfully detested even in the cutthroat world of Westeros for his treason.
  • Karl Tanner, the most depraved of the many outlaws sent to the Night's Watch, takes the taboo of oathbreaking to extreme measures. Karl first proves his viciousness and treachery by instigating a mutiny at Craster's Keep which claims the lives of Lord Commander Mormont and all of his loyalists. After taking over at Craster's Keep, Karl rules with an iron fist, drinks wine from the skull of the very commander he betrayed, relishes his past as a Psycho for Hire and constantly pressures his own men to rape and brutalize Craster's wives/daughters, who are too terrified of Karl's violent outbursts to oppose him. This is shown when his right-hand man, Rast, initially refuses to feed Jon's direwolf, Karl threatens to kill him despite the fact that Rast saved his life from Mormont a while back. When one of Craster's wives steps in with the last born baby boy, Karl's first reaction is to take a knife and kill it for not wanting any more mouths to feed. He is only stopped when the wives point out that they usually leave them as a sacrifice for the White Walkers, so he has that done instead. Once one of his men captures Bran and his group, Karl mercilessly abuses Bran and menaces Meera in order to get him speak. After learning that Bran is Jon's half-brother, Karl takes them as valuable hostages. Later, he attempts to gang-rape Meera with his men while forcing his brother to watch. When encountered by Jon, Karl shows nothing but pride for his treachery and relishes the time he and his men had as free men, despite mocking Craster for the same lifestyle a while back.

At James Bond, for Xenia Onatopp, please pothole "psychotic Russian assassin" to Psycho for Hire.

And a de-potholed entry for the books:

  • Young Bond: Dr. Perseus Friend is a cold, cruel man. In SilverFin, he helps Randolph Hellebore create a Super Serum despite its ugly results. In By Royal Command, he stages a car crash with Graf Otto von Schlick to graft his skin onto himself, and has Otto's wife killed. He joins up with the Third Reich and participates in a scheme to inspire the workers of Britain to revolt against their leaders with a Communist front, resulting in the assassination of King George V, which would place the Fascism-friendly Edward VIII back on the throne, allying with Hitler's Germany against Russia. When he has Bond and his Love Interest Roan captive, Friend decides to repay Bond for their previous encounters by flaying Bond alive while recording it for later viewing and forcing Roan to watch, just for the amusement that he'll gain.
