Filii Festi

    open/close all folders

    General
  • Beauty Is Bad: Many biological Filii Festi members are defined by their mesmerizing beauty, courtesy of their mother, Queen Eclaira, who resorted to using dark magics in order to make herself the Fairest of Them All. They also share her vanity and all-encompassing hunger, which drives them to eat whole realms and kingdoms. Though it's zigzagged as some Filii Festi members embrace their heritage, others like Prince Mint Blizzard and the Aschenputtel Trio are either heroic or at least less villainous.
  • Big Eater: Many Filii Festi members are this, owing to their heritage as biological children of Queen Eclaira. Because Eclaira used dark magics to make herself the Fairest of Them All in her youth, any offspring she sired afterward would inherit her bottomless, insatiable hunger. The amount of food they devour would range from whole feasts, to whole civilizations.
  • Cannibalism Superpower: Many Filii Festi members have the ability to devour and imprison entire nations and divine pantheons within their endless gullets, with their victims being used as power boosts, sustenance, and beauty enhancements before they're assimilated completely as life-force or beauty energy. While the Filii Festi have done this to wicked people, they have also inflicted this on people they have a genuine fondness for — with the latter case being willing.
  • Deity of Human Origin: Much like Queen Eclaira herself, many of her adoptive/biological children (and descendants) are Ascendant deities, having been born mortal or demi-deities, depending on the parent.
  • Divine Parentage: All Filii Festi members, whether male or female, are related to Queen Eclaira as either her children or her descendants through various lovers.
  • Horror Hunger: Because of the lengths Eclaira took to become the Fairest of Them All (including using dark magic and devouring an ancient goddess to become a goddess herself), any biological children she has will inherit her voracious, bottomless hunger. Despite some initial problems, many came to accept and even embrace it.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: Like their mother, many of them don't shy from eating people to siphon their lifeforce, power, and beauty to increase their own, sometimes devouring whole nations, lands, and even pantheons.
  • Massive Numbered Siblings: The Filii Festi is massive in number, owing to Queen Eclaira either siring lots of children through multiple lovers, or adopting them.
  • Meaningful Name: Their group name trnaslates to "children of feast" in Latin. This refers to their status as biological and adoptive children of Queen Eclaira, who happens to be a Big Eater and an Alicorn goddess of Feasting.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Being children and/or descendants of a divine Queen, many Filii Festi members are royals themselves, with some of them having experience in ruling their own kingdoms.
  • Vain Sorceress: Many of Eclaira's daughters, biological or adoptive, are this, sharing their mother's vanity and beauty and having magic and domains relating to their manipulation. This also applies to Eclaria's adoptive and biological sons.
  • Winged Unicorn: Many Filii Festi members are Alicorns, owing to their mother being an Alicorn herself.

Prince Mint Blizzard, the Cold Artisan

Classification: Elemental/Ethereal/Ascendant

Portfolio: Snow, Desserts, Inspiration

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

Affiliation: Filii Festi

"Zhere is beauty und delight even in zhat vhich is transient, despite ze fact zhey vould melt away under ze sun und in ze mouth of zhose who consumed it. Zhis doesn’t make zem any less vorthvhile to create."

Prince Mint Blizzard (his entry here) is the Alicorn god of Snow, Desserts, and Inspiration, and is one of the oldest members of the Filii Festi.
  • Abnormal Ammo: As a god of Snow, he can weaponize snowballs by combining his domain with Earth Pony and Pegasi magics to essentially turn them into frozen cannonballs.
  • Abstract Apotheosis: He was born a demigod, but he later Ascended to true godhood by creating his first magnum opus, "Frozen Perfection", for Eis' local Royal Dessert Grand Tournament in honor of his late father, Dark Cocoa.
  • Aloof Big Brother: While far from the oldest member of the Filii Festi, he's still noted to be one of Queen Eclaira's oldest sons. And befitting his nature as a god of Snow, he's stoic, haughty, and soft-spoken, displaying Tranquil Fury when angered and being one of the more restrained members of his family. However, it's noted that he's much more similar to his family than he appears, and he does have a witty and more loving side, but generally reserves it for his family and his closest subjects and/or subordinates.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's an Alicorn god who embodies Snow, Desserts, and Inspiration.
  • Arch-Enemy: While one of the less overtly villainous and antagonistic Filii Festi members, he nevertheless ended up being opposed by the Glasiert Clan, a family of heroic chefs specializing in ice-cream who would become his chief mortal rivals.
  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: His Cutie Mark depicts a mint-green snowflake flanked by golden leaves. This not only refers to his ice magic, but also his talent in dessert-making.
  • Astral Projection: As a god of Inspiration, he can do astral projection to help inspire others.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: He became the ruling Prince of the kingdom of Eis when, while participating in Eis' local Royal Dessert Grand Tournament, he created his first ice cream magnum opus, "Frozen Perfection", to honor his late father's memory. It was large as a castle and so delicious that he won both the tournament and the royal crown of Eis, after which the kingdom was absorbed into Queen Eclaira's domain within the Shadowpact Empire. Despite some hiccups, including conflicts with Eis' original royal family, he ruled Eis well until his Horror Hunger took over and he ate everything down to the last inhabitant.
  • Awful Truth: For much of his childhood and adolescence, he was blissfully unaware of his mother's true identity as "the Voracious Shadow". Then his father was fatally poisoned by a murderous rival. Shortly after his father's death, he met a few older half-siblings, who he was previously unaware of, and learned from them the truth of his mother's identity. This discovery, compounded by his grief over losing his father so early, influenced him to run away out of fear of becoming a ravenous monster himself. Fortunately, with support and therapy, he eventually got over it and embraced his heritage.
  • Barrier Warrior: As a god of Snow, he can manifest snow as barriers.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Downplayed; like his fellow Filii Festi, he's extremely beautiful to the point of his presence being absolutely mesmerizing. However, he's more a Token Good Teammate as while he did have his fair share of conflicts and enemies, he's one of the less villainous and antagonistic members of his family and is largely disinterested in acting like them, preferring to spend his days perfecting his craft of dessert-making.
  • Beauty Is Bad: He was quite pudgy as a colt, but once his heritage as Queen Eclaira's son manifested, he became extremely handsome to the point of being mesmerizing to everyone around him. He's also part of the Filii Festi, whose members are generally defined by vanity and a voracious hunger, and he's no different. However, it's downplayed as despite his connections and activities as a Filii Festi member, he's one of the least villainous members of his family and is disinterested in being a villain, preferring to follow in his beloved mortal father's hoofsteps by hone his skills as a dessert-maker.
  • Berserk Button: As a chef (specifically, a dessert-maker), he is genuinely enraged by wastefulness and/or disrespect of food, including unhygenic practices and the inability to follow proper instructions. He also has high standards for what counts as a dessert, which his enemies have exploited by provoking him into a rage with taunts about his tastes.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: He's stoic, cold, and soft-spoken, and is one of the more restrained members of the Filii Festi, but he's also an ancient god who embodies Snow, being powerful enough that in his demi-divine youth, he gave his pursuing family considerable trouble with his cryo-magic while he was on the run. And despite his emotional aloofness, he is genuinly enraged by wastefulness and/or disrespect of food, as well as those who crush people's dreams and/or derive them of beloved family members out of malice. And as a "Devourer" like his mother, he is willing to satiate his ravenous hunger by devouring the genuinely wicked, sometimes consuming entire kingdoms as punishment for their sins.
  • Big Eater: As a biological Filii Festi member, he possesses Queen Eclaira's ravenous hunger, which drives him to consume entire kingdoms and realms to satiate it. Even before his heritage manifested, he had a huge Sweet Tooth that was compounded by both his mother and father being experienced dessert-makers, which made quite pudgy as a colt. His ravenous hunger initially became a huge source of insecurity for him, being afraid of becoming a Villainous Glutton like his mother to the point of running away from his family and trying to repress his hunger completely. This had disastrous results, as he only ended up creating a Vicious Cycle that drove him into feeding frenzies the longer he repressed his hunger. Eventually, with help from his family and others, he comes to accept his hunger as a part of him, so while willing to indulge in his love for food, it's not to the degree of his more gluttonous mother and siblings.
  • Broken Pedestal: He adored his mother as a colt, but his father's sudden death to a murderous rival led to him meeting his older half-siblings he never knew about, which led to him learning from them his mother's true identity as the dreaded "Voracious Shadow" who devoured nations and kingdoms wholesale. He was so devastated that he ran away and tried to repress his heritage once it manifested, not wanting to become a monster like his mother was. When he was eventually subdued and brought back home, he called out his mother for both lying to him and "corrupting" him with her vain, ravenous hunger, ruining any chance he had at living a normal life as a dessert-maker like his father. He eventually forgives his mother and accepts his hunger once he overcame his issues, however.
  • Cheerful Child: When he was younger, he was a cheerful, innocent little colt who idolized his father, Dark Cocoa, and loved tasting his father's creations, desiring to be a dessert-maker just like him — a far cry from what he would eventually become.
  • Children Are Innocent: According to him, he once overheard his mother, Eclaira, desiring to eat the foals who were bullying him for being fat (as well as their parents if they turned out to have enabled their children's cruelty). That moment gave a hint involving who Eclaira truly was, but being a young colt at the time, it flew over his head completely. It's not until after his father died and he met his older half-siblings does Eclaira's true identity finally sink in.
  • Cold Ham: Pun aside, while he's not traditionally hammy like his mother and many of his siblings, he still commands a magnificent, intimidating presence without raising his voice. In one incident, he caught a group of his youngest half-siblings secretly eating his father's annual birthday dessert, and proceeded to scare the kids witless by quietly telling them in Germane that they're in deep trouble.
  • Cool Big Bro: Despite his stoicism and aloofness, he does have a genuinely witty and loving side. After overcoming his fears and learning how to grieve his father's death properly, he became a supportive big brother-figure to many siblings who came after him, including those sired by his mother, Eclaira, through Blue Suede Heartstrings.
  • Deity of Human Origin: He was originally a demigod who Ascended to true godhood by creating his first magnum opus, "Frozen Perfection", a castle-sized ice-cream dessert so delicious that it knocked out the food critics who tasted it via sheer sensory overload. The same feat also got him crowned as ruler of Eis, much to the shock and outrage of the kingdom's original royal family).
  • Divine Parentage: He's one of Queen Eclaira's oldest sons and children, sired through a mortal Pony chocolatier named Dark Cocoa.
  • Dream Walker: As a god of Inspiration, he has limited dream-walking. This allows him to help people find their calling in life and overcome what is preventing them from reaching it.
  • Due to the Dead: His first magnum opus, "Frozen Perfection", was created for the Royal Dessert Grand Tournament in honor of his late father, Dark Cocoa. Creating it was what triggered his Ascension to true godhood.
  • Edible Theme Naming: Like his parents, his name revolves around food; in his case, it's Mint Blizzard.
  • Elemental Embodiment: He is a god of Snow, which naturally gives him power over ice and snow. This allows him to do things like creating snowstorms and blizzards, summoning (or triggering) avalanches, and combining Earth and Pegasi magics with his domain to turn snowballs into frozen cannon balls. He can also create divinely-enchanted Ice Palaces and castles for his family, especially those with cold-related natures and domains. Fittingly, he's also one of the more rational and emotionally reserved members of the Filii Festi, with a stoic personality to match, though he does have a softer side.
  • Elemental Hair Composition: He has a two-tone mint-green and dark green mane and tail that are composed of ice and snow.
  • Elemental Personalities: He's a god of Snow, so naturally he's stoic, soft-spoken, and emotionally aloof. This is subverted, however, as he is a much wittier and more loving character than he appears to be, and he is very passionate about being a great dessert-maker like his father, as indicated by his domains of Desserts and Inspiration.
  • Emerald Power: He is heavily associated with green, whether in his appearance or outfit, and he's an Alicorn god who embodies Snow, Desserts, and Inspiration. He is also an experienced Supreme Chef and cryo-mage; he Ascended to true godhood by creating his first ice cream-based magnum opus, "Frozen Perfection", and he was able to give his mother and older siblings trouble by assailing them with snow-based magic while he was on the run.
  • The Empath: As a god of Inspiration, he has empathic powers to reach out to people and encourage them to follow their dreams.
  • Energy Weapon: As a god of Snow, he can manifest snow as beams.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: While an Anti-Villain at best, he is disgusted by more depraved forms of villainy due to having grown up in the empathetic Third Age. He is also willing to devour the genuinely wicked, consuming entire unrepentant kingdoms and realms down to the last resident.
  • Family of Choice: She sees both Eclaira and her fellow Filii Festi as her true family, even if they did have flaws of their own and some of them even opposed her (like the Aschenputtel Trio). By contrast, her first adoptive family robbed her of her freedom entirely by pushing her into a role she didn't want and grooming her to fulfill a prophecy she didn't know about until after they died and she was set to become Queen.
  • Fighting Spirit: She is a Stand user with her own Stand, Mare in the Mirror, which she gained after witnessing Aschenputtel's growing corruption and desiring to do something about it. Fittingly, Mare in the Mirror's power shows people the darker sides of themselves they don't want to see, which she used to expose more unscrupulous heroes and damsels as the corrupt beings they are. Following her divine Ascension, Mare in the Mirror became Heaven's Mirror, with its powers upgraded to illusions.
  • Following in Relative's Footsteps: Since foalhood, he adored his father, Dark Cocoa, and wanted to be a dessert-maker like him, which also led to him developing a love for ice cream. However, following his father's sudden death and certain revelations about his true heritage, he spent much of his time much of his time repressing his voracious hunger instead, as he feared becoming a monster like his mother, Eclaira. Once he gets over his issues and accepts his heritage, he proceeds to work on his original goal of following in his father's hoofsteps, even becoming an apprentice of Torianputo, an ancient Eastern Dragon ice cream maker from Angel Vale, in the Fourth Age.
  • Foreign-Language Tirade: He's fluent in Germane, having grown up in a Third Age descendant kingdom of the Second Age's Germaney. Despite his stoicism, he is often prone to swearing in Germane when angered.
  • Formerly Fat: He used to be quite pudgy as a colt due to his Big Eater habits, which wasn't helped by his parents being exceptionally talented dessert-makers. He was bullied for it, something that enraged Eclaira. Fortunately for him, he became extremely handsome to the point of being mesmerizing once his heritage kicked in, though given the circumstances, it took him a while for him to accept his heritage.
  • Fur and Loathing: He loves wearing fur coats of all kinds, his favorite being a white, black, and green fur coat with golden accents. He's also one of Queen Eclaira's oldest sons and a biological member of the Filii Festi, though it's downplayed; while he shares their vanity and voracious hunger, and has clashed with numerous heroes over the centuries, he's largely disinterested in the majority of his family's villainous activities. Instead, he prefers to perfect his craft of dessert-making.
  • Germanic Depressives: He hails from Eis, a long-devoured Third Age descendant kingdom of the Second Age's Germaney, and speaks with a very thick Germane accent. He also went through a Trauma Conga Line where he lost his beloved father at a young age to a murderous rival, learned that his mother lied to him for years about his true heritage, and spent some time struggling to contain his voracious hunger while on the run from his family. While he eventually accepted his heritage and forgave his mother, his experiences nonetheless left stoic and emotionally reserved, with a perfectionist streak and lingering insecurities.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: He's an ancient Alicorn god with a snow-white pelt, and he wears golden regalia with green designs and snowflake-shaped jewels, along with a matching golden crown.
  • Horror Hunger: Because of the lengths Eclaira took to become the Fairest of Them All in her youth, he inherited his mother's voracious, bottomless appetite, which drives him to consume up to whole realms just to satiate it. Initially, he tried to suppress it to the point of denying his own love for ice cream, but it created a Vicious Cycle where his hunger increased to the point of inducing feeding frenzies the longer he tried to deny his desire for food. While he was angry with Eclaira for "cursing" him with her hunger, he eventually comes to accept his appetite thanks to his family and others, and stops repressing it.
  • Ice Palace: As a god of Snow, he can create divinely-enchanted castles and palaces for his family, especially those with cold-related natures and domains.
  • An Ice Person: As a god of Snow, he holds incredible power over snow, being able to generate and manifest snow in various ways such as beams, barriers, constructs, and weapons. This extends to ice, frost, and frozen liquids. He can also do things like summoning and/or triggering avalanches, and conjuring snowballs, using both Earth Pony and Pegasi magics to essentially turn them into frozen cannonballs. He can also use his domain to create divinely-encanted castles and palaces for his family, especially those with cold-related natures and domains, as well as snow-based Familiars.
  • Impossibly Delicious Food: His first magnum opus, a castle-sized ice cream dessert named "Frozen Perfection", was so delicious that the judges tasked with tasting it were knocked out by the sheer sensory overload... and won him the royal crown, making him the ruler of Eis.
  • Insufferable Genius: He's an experienced dessert-maker and is very passionate about what he does, even when he may not look like it. But his stoicism, combined with his perfectionist tendencies and high standards on what he thinks is a "proper" dessert, can make him appear elitist to a degree.
  • Magic Hair: He has a two-tone mint-green and dark green mane and tail that are composed of ice and snow.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Cold Artisan", due to being a divine dessert-maker who is cold in both powers and personality.
  • The Muse: As a god of Inspiration, he serves as a muse for aspiring mortal chefs and dessert-makers like himself, though he has also inspired non-culinary artisans like painters and ice-sculptors. His domain also allows him to help people find their calling in life, and punish those who earned his wrath by robbing them of inspiration and/or driving them to madness, among other things.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When his true nature as Eclaira's son begin manifesting during his time in self-imposed exile, he would be left horrified whenever his hunger get the better of him and he wakes up finding he had devoured entire settlements he was staying in. He got over it upon finally accepting his heritage.
Mint Blizzard: (waking up from a feeding frenzy) N-nein... Nein! Not again...!
  • Offered the Crown: While participating in the local Royal Dessert Grand Tournament, he created "Frozen Perfection", his first ice cream-based magnum opus, which not only triggered his Ascension to godhood, but also impressed everyone into immediately making him the ruling Prince of Eis, to the shock of both him and Eis' original royal family. He stated later he warned the people that he might eventually eat them all in his bottomlesss hunger, but they didn't care — his creation was simply that good.
Codex Equus researcher: So, wait, does that mean...?
Prince Mint Blizzard: Ja, we eventually ate Eis - my family and I couldn't help ourselves in ze end. I warned zem as much when zhey made me zere sovereign prince, but zhey didn't care. My original magnum opus vas ZHAT good, apparently.
  • Oh, No... Not Again!: Played for drama. In trying to repress the voracious hunger he inherited from his mother, Eclaira, he ended up worsening it, creating a Vicious Cycle that left behind devoured settlements and hypnotized suitors, among other things. One incident involved him waking up to find he had gone into yet another feeding frenzy where he consumed the entire village he was staying at during its annual feast, leaving behind only a crater.
Mint Blizzard: N-nein... Nein! Not again...!
  • Psychic Powers: As a god of Inspiration, he has telepathic and empathic powers, as well as Astral Projection and limited dream-walking.
  • The Reliable One: Due to his stoicism and high level of self-control, he is much more reasonable compared to his more villainous mother and siblings, and is often the one to rein them in whenever they get too unruly.
  • Repression Never Ends Well: In his attempts to avoid becoming a voracious monster like his mother, Eclaira, he tried to repress his own voracious hunger that he unfortunately inherited from her, as well as anything that could trigger it, like his love for ice cream. Unfortunately, this only led to his hunger growing until he periodically went into feeding frenzies, creating a Vicious Cycle that left a trail of transformed desserts, hypnotized suitors, and devoured settlements for his worried family to follow. Once he was subdued and brought back home, his pent-up rage and despair caused him to lash out at Eclaira for not only lying to him, but also "corrupting" him with her twisted nature. Fortunately, with therapy and support, he eventually recovered from his grief and forgave his mother, accepting his heritage for what it is. While he's still a Big Eater like the rest of his family, he's still restrained about it, but doesn't try to repress his hunger outright anymore.
  • A Shared Suffering: He bonded closely with Blue Suede Heartstrings, one of his mothers' lovers, over losing their fathers, though Blue Suede had it worse as his own father died in such a way that he wondered if it was planned or merely an accident. Years later, he was one of many who helped Blue Suede recover after the later suffered a mental breakdown, sympathizing with his stepfather's issues over dealing with parts of themselves they didn't want and tried to repress.
  • The Stoic: In contrast to his innocent, cheerful youth, he's very stoic and aloof. This makes him The Reliable One of his family as his more restrained composure allows him to restrain his more unruly family members among the Filii Festi. However, he does have a warmer, friendlier side, but mostly shows it around close friends and family, as well as his most trusted subordinates and subjects.
  • Telepathy: As a god of Inspiration, he has telepathic powers to reach out to people and encourage them to follow their dreams.
  • Tranquil Fury: At one point, he caught a group of his youngest half-siblings secretly eating the annual dessert meant to be served during the birthday of Dark Cocoa, his beloved deceased father. He was furious over this, though the only signs of his anger were his intimidating presence and how he calmly told his half-siblings calmly in Germane that they are in deep trouble.
    Filii Festi children: Uh-oh...
Prince Mint Blizzard: ...Ihr kinder seid in großen schwierigkeiten.note
  • Where I Was Born and Razed: Like his mother, he ate his own kingdom of Eis with his family after ruling it as part of the Shadowpact Empire. He actually warned his own subject of this possibility/inevitability when he was crowned, but they were so impressed by his masterpiece Frozen Perfection that they simply didn't cared.
  • You Are Fat: He was bullied in his colthood for being pudgy, much to Eclaira's anger. This led to an incident where he overheard his mother desiring to eat his bullies (and their parents, if they allowed the bullying to happen) in revenge. He later becomes extremely handsome thanks to his heritage as a biological son of the "Voracious Shadow", but unfortunately for him, it happened to manifest during the lowest point of his life.

Queen Schöneitel, the Queen of Mirrors

Classification: Ascendant

Portfolio: Queens, Vanity, Sorcery, Mirrors

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate; resembles a "Greater"-ranked deity)

Affiliation: Filii Festi (main), Shadowpact Pantheon

"Let the mirror on the wall, reveal yourself warts and all."

Queen Schöneitel (her entry here) is the Alicorn goddess of Queens, Vanity, Sorcery, and Mirrors, and is a villainous adoptee from the lost empire of Aschenputtel.
  • Abstract Apotheosis: Following her adoption by Eclaira and learning of the Aschenputtel Trio's collective decision to Ascend, Schöneitel chose to follow them so she can give them a "proper" antagonist to fight. She trained for many years under the tutelage of Eclaira, her new adoptive siblings, and many other deities, eventually Ascending herself as the Alicorn goddess of Queens, Vanity, Sorcery, and Mirrors.
  • The Ace: In her mortal youth, Schöneitel was one of the most beautiful and magically-talented mares in the Aschenputtel Empire. Princes sought her out to ask for her hoof in marriage, and before they died, her first adoptive parents made her their successor to the throne by virtue of being their strongest child. In the present, Schöneitel is seen as one of the most powerful Filii Festi members due to being a magical prodigy with potential to surpass even Queen Eclaira, her second adoptive mother and a skilled sorceress herself. It's deconstructed as a psychologically repressive upbringing deeply scarred her and left her with a lot of neuroses that haunted her even in the present day, though thankfully she is receiving help for it.
  • Adopted into Royalty: This happens to Schöneitel twice.
    • The first time, Schöneitel was a daughter of nobles who showed tremendous promise, both in magic and in heroism. It wasn't until she became the central figure of a prophecy foretelling the advent of a great heroine that she attracted the attention of her sub-kingdom's King and Queen, who adopted her as one of their daughters. It led to tragedy for everyone, as the King and Queen's Black-and-White Morality and attempts to groom Schöneitel for a destiny she didn't want caused her to eventually snap and bring doom upon her home instead.
    • The second time, Schöneitel was adopted by Queen Eclaira, who at the time was Walking the Earth. After learning that Schöneitel was the cause of the increased vanity that drew her to Aschenputtel, Eclaira adopted her as one of her daughters, especially given the circumstances behind it. Despite having to put up with her new family's ravenous hunger, Schöneitel sees Eclaira and her fellow Filii Festi members as a huge improvement compared to her first adoptive family, many who grew complacent to the point of becoming corrupt.
  • All Your Powers Combined: Post-Ascension, Schöneitel, gained the combined magics of all Pony tribes, including lesser known ones like Musical Ponies, Flutter Ponies, and Snow Ponies.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's an Alicorn goddess who embodies Queens, Vanity, Sorcery, and Mirrors.
  • Arch-Enemy: Schöneitel has made many enemies over the years, but her most prominent ones are the Aschenputtel Trio, who happen to be fellow adoptees from the fallen Aschenputtel Empire. While Schöneitel chose to emulate the wicked witches and evil Queens from various fairytales, the Aschenputtel Trio chose to keep the heroic aspects of fairytales alive, albeit in a more constructive manner. She ended up becoming one of the Aschenputtel Trio's most persistent and formidable foes, antagonizing them to see if they would beat her or give in to their inner pride... but neither of them have hard feelings against each other since they both understand why they're doing what they do.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: Schöneitel ends up receiving one when a disguised Radiant E. O. Speedwagon visits her and asks what she wanted to do with her life, appealing to her hidden bitterness and resentment towards her corrupt former Aschenputtel neighbors. While seemingly content with her life as a Solitary Sorceress, she ultimately decided otherwise, as she is presently an Alicorn goddess who tested and punished heroes for their failings.
Speedwagon: So... whaddya wanna do, mate?
    Schöneitel: ...What do you mean?
Speedwagon: Ye came this far, Yer Majesty. Whaddya wanna do wit' yer life?
  • The Assimilator: While lacking the ravenous hunger that defined much of the Filii Festi, she makes up for this by using her domain of Mirrors to imprison people and drain them of both beauty and vitality. Because her mirrors are all part of her, her method technically counts as actually devouring someone. She went as far as to absorb whole kingdoms and divine pantheons into her mirrors. However, she only reserves this fate for those she genuinely found wanting, both heroes and villains alike.
  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance:
    • Schöneitel's Cutie Mark is a resplendent mirror with a cackling demon in its reflection. This not only reflects her present status as an evil goddess who emulates wicked fairytale Queens, but also how everyone has their darker sides that they often refuse to acknowledge.
    • Her Stand, Mare in the Mirror, is also mirror-themed, appearing as a regal Unicorn mare made entirely of mirrors. This reflects her desire to expose villains and so-called heroes as the corrupt, self-serving hypocrites they truly are on the inside.
  • At Least I Admit It: Part of Schöneitel's resentment towards the people of Aschenputtel was fueled by how, despite becoming increasingly corrupt, prideful, and decadent, they refused to acknowledge it as they still saw themselves as heroes. While she was becoming arrogant herself due to her spoiled, privileged upbringing, Schöneitel knew deep down what she became and saw her neighbors' actions as moral hypocrisy of the highest order, but hid it well since she would be decired as a villainess if she spoke up. Even when recalling her past, she has nothing but bitterness towards her former subjects.
Queen Schöneitel: Every time I looked at our dashing knights and the beautiful damsels who empowered them, I saw in them the same rottenness that took my heart. How could they claim to be heroes when they refused to acknowledge even their own sins?
  • Attack Reflector: As a goddess of Mirrors, Schöneitel can reflect certain attacks with her mirrors, and can even turn herself into a reflective surface to do so.
  • Badass Cape: As a Queen, she wears furry mantles, which are part of her royal regalia. She's also a talented, formidable goddess who is a master of dark sorcery and a very cunning manipulator, having fooled both heroes and villains alike.
  • Battle Ballgown: In battle, Schöneitel wears armored dresses and ball gowns covered in divine enchantments to enhance their defensive capabilities.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Deconstructed. Schöneitel was born beautiful beyond compare, leading to rumors that she was blessed by local Fae. This led to her first adoption, as the ruling couple of the Aschenputtel sub-kingdom she lived in was interested in her potential — especially after Schöneitel became the central figure of a prophecy concerning the advent of a great heroine. Unfortunately, Aschenputtel's obsession with beauty embittered Schöneitel because of the abuses it created and how it enabled both heroes and damsels to develop corrupt behaviors. Learning that she was supposed to be a great, beautiful heroine due to a prophecy pushed her feelings to their boiling point until she snapped. One big reason why she chose to Ascend is so she could test other heroes and make sure they don't make the same mistakes as the heroes of Aschenputtel made.
  • Beauty Is Bad: Schöneitel is an extremely beautiful yet utterly vain Alicorn goddess who embodies concepts related to evil fairytale Queens and witches, including Vanity, Sorcery, and Mirrors. In her mortal youth, she was born so beautiful that people believed she had potential to become one of Ascenputtel's greatest heroines. However, their constant praises and attempts to groom Schöneitel for the role not only inflated her ego, but also deeply embittered her to the ideals of heroism Aschenputtel claimed to follow but lost sight of. One big reason she chose to Ascend is so she could test heroes and punish those who failed to live up to their own standards of goodness, something she never got to openly do in Aschenputtel.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Schöneitel is a sympathetic example. Prior to Aschenputtel's destruction, she appeared to be a virtuous, kind, and pure damsel in public. But in private, she grew spoiled and haughty due to both her privileged upbringing and her subjects' constant praises; by her admission, one of her favorite hobbies is exposing people's darkest secrets and watching the ensuing chaos. However, Schöneitel knew very well what she was becoming, and her inability to counteract Aschenputtel's growing corruption left her deeply bitter and resentful. Discovering she was part of an important prophecy was the last straw, leading to Schöneitel cursing her subjects into corrupted, twisted versions of themselves in a fit of rage on her coronation day as Queen. Presently, Schöneitel is capable of acting like the damsel she once was, but she hates doing so because her old life left a very bad taste in her mouth.
  • Cain and Abel: She's the "Cain" to the Aschenputtel Trio's "Abel". While they were all adopted by Queen Eclaira, making them siblings, Schöneitel is a vain, villainous goddess who frequently antagonizes the Aschenputtel Trio. She is opposed in turn by the Aschenputtel Trio and their allies, as she is a villain and the Aschenputtel Trio want to stop her schemes. However, both sides want to keep various aspects of fairytales alive in a more constructive fashion, and the main reason behind Schöneitel's antagonism of her more heroic siblings is because she doesn't want them to become complacent and corrupt.
  • Carry a Big Stick: Her royal scepter also doubles as a bludgeoning mace when she isn't using it as her Magic Staff to channel her spells with.
  • Child Prodigy: Even as a young filly, she was extremely beautiful — causing many to believe she was blessed by Fae — and talented in sorcery. While not the only factor, this influenced the ruling couple of the Aschenputtel sub-kingdom she lived in to adopt her as one of their daughters. The indoctrination she went through to fit Aschenputtel's expectations of her informed her development as she grew up, and created a deep resentment for Aschenputtel that would fester for years.
  • The Chosen One: As a young filly, Schöneitel was prophesied to become a great heroine who confronted a "great darkness" that was threatening Aschenputtel, leading to her adoption by her sub-kingdom's ruling couple at the time. And even before that, she was born beautiful and talented beyond even Aschenputtel's high standards, leading to rumors that she was blessed by Fae. However, it's deconstructed — because she's such a talented mare, Schöneitel was expected to be a morally pure and virtuous yet passive damsel who relied on male heroes to protect her from danger. Not only was this incredibly restrictive, it also left Schöneitel helpless in the face of Aschenputtel's growing corruption, which she couldn't resolve no matter how hard she tried. Discovering the prophecy in question made Schöneitel snap so hard that on her coronation day as Queen, she doomed Aschenputtel to destruction by indirectly drawing in a wandering Queen Eclaira with a spell that brought out her people's worst sins. Her past experiences left her with a deep distrust of prophecies in the present, seeing them as worthless things that shackled people's potential like they did hers.
  • Color Motif:
    • Dark blue, which symbolizes power and responsibility, as well as emotional suppression, pessimism, and hypocrisy. Schöneitel, who often wears opulent, dark blue dresses and ball gowns, grew up in a fairytale-obsessed empire that was growing increasingly hypocritical and corrupt, which greatly affected her psyche as she grew up. While she did grow vain herself, she at least acknowledged it, and had more of a problem with those who claimed to be heroes yet were utterly rotten inside. Schöneitel's past experiences left her greatly distrustful of prophecies and beautiful-looking heroes, since to her they're both symbols of the horrors she went through in Aschenputtel. Dark blue also represents deceit and spite; while beautiful, Schöneitel is extremely devious and has manipulated both heroes and villains alike. She also has a nasty temper when set off, and can be quite vindictive against those who wronged her.
    • Silver. Silver represents feminine power, illumination, and prestige. Schöneitel is a cultured and refined Alicorn goddess who wears divine silver regalia, and she is presently one of the most powerful and magically-inclined members of the Filii Festi. Notably, she has potential to surpass even her adoptive mother, Queen Eclaira, in terms of sorcerous talent. She is also utterly vain with a strong mirror aesthetic, though she uses her vanity to test heroes by forcing them to face the darkest sides of themselves they don't want anyone to see. Fittingly, in addition to her domains of Mirrors and Vanity, she wields a Stand called "Mare in the Mirror" (now "Heaven's Mirror"), which shows viewers their truest selves.
  • Cool Crown: As a villainous Queen, she often wears resplendent crowns that match her divine silver reqalia.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Schöneitel was born an aristocrat so beautiful and talented that she was adopted by the rulers of one of the Aschenputtel Empire's sub-kingdoms. While she grew up to become a heroic damsel famed for her beauty, Schöneitel grew vain and spoiled from the constant phrases, and she resented not only Aschenputtel's restrictive, sexist cultural norms, but also the moral corruption that contrasted the ideals of heroism and innocence that Aschenputtel claimed to follow. The last straw came when, following her adoptive parents' deaths, Schöneitel discovered that she was groomed to fulfill a prophecy involving Aschenputtel. This enraged her so much that she angrily cursed her subjects on her coronatin day, unwittingly dooming her home to destruction at Queen Eclaira's hooves. She fled in horror, and by the time she was found, she was living as a solitary witch, seemingly content with her life but brimming with years worth of resentment and fury towards her former subjects.
  • Deity of Human Origin: Schöneitel was originally a beautiful yet mortal Unicorn mare who had grown incredibly disillusioned with her purpose in life and what defined one as a "hero". With help and encouragement from others like Luminiferous and Speedwagon, she Ascended to godhood after many years of training, becoming the Alicorn goddess of Queens, Vanity, Sorcery, and Mirrors.
  • Doppelgänger: As a goddess of Mirrors, she can create mirror duplicates of anyone she chooses.
  • Emotion Suppression: Deconstructed. Schöneitel grew increasingly discontent with Aschenputtel's corruption, but kept quiet because she knew she would be decried as a villain if she voiced her opinions. Forced to act behind the scenes, with no way to properly vent her feelings or gain allies who might sympathize with her, Schöneitel's anger steadily grew. The last straw was discovering she was a central part of a prophecy since fillyhood, leading to her exploding with fury and cursing her subjects on her coronation day. By the time Luminiferous and Speedwagon found her, Schöneitel had become a village witch, seemingly content yet full of bitterness and rage towards Aschenputtel. With Luminiferous and Speedwagon's encouragement, Schöneitel chooses to become a villainess who tested heroes, though it's noted her experiences gave her both a nasty temper and a vindictive streak.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite being presently a villainous member of the Filii Festi who embodies Vanity and (evil) Queens, Schöneitel genuinely loves her family and doesn't resent her more heroic siblings, like the Aschenputtel Trio. The only reason why she antagonizes them is because she follows "Constructive Evil" and doesn't want them to become complacent.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: While an utterly vain Queen who imprisons people in mirrors, Schöneitel has standards she wouldn't cross.
    • She despises hypocrisy, especially in heroes. She hated how Aschenputtel was obsessed with Beauty Equals Goodness, causing people to trust beautiful people on instinct while creating sociopathic narcissists willing to exploit their beauty to get away with their crimes. Despite her efforts, she realized Aschenputtel's corruption was far too deep for her to make any meaningful changes, contributing to her Rage Breaking Point.
    • While she's among the more villainous Filii Festi members, even she couldn't tolerate those who willingly let their vain and ravenous natures corrupt them until they became Fallen deities, spreading evil and misery for the sake of it. She would punish them by imprisoning them within her mirrors, where she would drain them of their power, beauty, and vitality to fuel her own. This even includes her own children.
    • During the "Silk Dawn Crisis", she was enraged by the atrocities committed by Silk Dawn's family, which included abusive psychological indoctrination and magically 'tailoring' those they deemed imperfect. As such, she would aid the heroic forces opposing the megalomaniacal Fallen Goddess and her forces, which saw her disrupting Silk Dawn's operations with her own schemes, sending her own forces to take out key members of Silk Dawn's inner circle, and absorbing several of Silk Dawn's wicked divine children and allies into herself via her domain of Mirrors.
  • Evil Is Petty: Like her more villainous family members, she can be jealous of those who are more beautiful or talented than her, lashing out them in a manner not unlike the wicked Queens of various fairytales. However, it's noted part of it is an act she puts up due to being a divine tester and punisher.
  • Evil Sorceress: One of her divine domains is Sorcery, though she specifically embodies sorcery as how it's depicted in fairytales — an aspect of magic wielded by evil witches and Queens. She is incredibly skilled in the dark arts — including transformation, potion-making, summoning rituals, and hexes — and can use mirror-based spells when combining her domain of Sorcery with Mirrors. She is also an exceptional catoptromancer (i.e. divination by mirrors), and at her peak, she can quickly reduce entire relams to smoking craters. Fittingly, she is an utterly vain goddess who delights in manipulating heroes and exposing their darkest selves, while constantly surrounding herself with mirrors due to her ego.
  • Friendly Enemy: Despite being one of the Aschenputtel Trio's most formidable and persistent foes, Schöneitel still loves them and treats them like family. All she cares about is the Trio becoming stronger and wiser from their battles so they wouldn't become complacent like the so-called "heroes" of Aschenputtel did. This doesn't apply to those of the Filii Festi who became truly depraved and committed horrible atrocities For the Evulz, which she finds abhorrent.
  • God-Eating: Of a sort. While lacking the ravenous hunger both Eclaira and her biological children have, Schöneitel makes up for this by trapping people in her mirrors and draining them of both life and beauty. Notably, she subjected this fate to whole pantheons. Since her mirrors are a natural part of her as a goddess of Mirrors, this technically counts as an example. It's also the reason why she's much stronger and more eldritch-looking despite being one of the younger Filii Festi members.
  • God of Evil: Schöneitel both embodies Vanity and the evil aspects of Queens as depicted in classic fairytales. She grows stronger in corrupt and stagnant realms, and is a sorcerous prodigy who holds power over mirrors and the dark arts. However, it's subverted; a huge reason why she became an evil goddess is so she can test mortal heroes and see if they would overcome even their own vanity. Anyone who falls short are imprisoned within her mirrors and drained of both beauty and vitality.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: Schöneitel presently holds the rank of "Queen", yet she is utterly vain to the point where she constantly surrounds herself with mirrors — even having a Palace of Mirrors built just for her. She is also quite devious, having tricked both villains and heroes alike into either falling into her traps or exposing their dirty deeds for all to see. Fittingly, Schöneitel is a goddess who embodies Mirrors and evil Queens, the latter making her grow stronger when she rules over corrupt realms, while her domain of Mirrors allows her to trap people in mirrors and drain them of their life and beauty. Ironically, Schöneitel's former subjects and family in Aschenputtel wanted her to be The High Queen, but she was left too embittered by their obsession with fairytales and moral corruption to even consider the idea.
  • Good Needs Evil: Part of Schöneitel's character development involved learning that evil is ultimately crucial to one's survival. Without something to test them, heroes will become complacent, and overly good places will stagnate and fall into corruption out of boredom. The Aschenputtel Empire fell because they believed goodness and virtue should be without evil, which spelled their doom. This motivated Schöneitel to become a villainess, and when the Aschenputtel Trio chose to Ascend, she followed them so she can test them and keep them from becoming corrupt like the heroes of Aschenputtel did.
  • Good Princess, Evil Queen: She's the "Evil Queen" to Royal Grace's "Good Princess". In emulation of wicked Queens from various fairytales, Schöneitel is a vain goddess who holds the rank of Queen, wields dark sorcery, and traps people within her Magic Mirrors if they displeased her. She is opposed by the heroic Princess Royal Grace who, after overcoming years of social indoctrination, resolved to keep the good aspects of fairytales alive in a more constructive manner. They're also adoptive sisters due to both of them being taken in by Queen Eclaira, though they hold no hard feelings against each other. Schöneitel only antagonizes Royal race so she could keep her from becoming complacent and corrupt like the heroes and damsels of Aschenputtel.
  • Happily Adopted: While Schöneitel hates her first adoptive family with a passion, she doesn't feel the same with Eclaira, who treated her like a daughter and never forced her into a role she didn't want. Being part of the Filii Festi meant more freedom to live her own life and indulge in her darkest desires.
  • Hates Their Parent: Schöneitel absolutely despises her first adoptive parents, the previous King and Queen of the Aschenputtel sub-kingdom she hailed from. In addition to maing her conform to fairytale archetypes, they also groomed her to fulfill a prophecy where she would save the wider Aschenputtel Empire from a "great darkness". When she discovered the prophecy, Schöneitel was furious, leading to her Rage Breaking Point that doomed Aschenputtel. In the present day, she always talks about her first adoptive parents with great bitterness. By contrast, she loves Eclaira and her fellow Filii Festi despite their ravenous gluttony, and sees them as her Family of Choice.
  • Holy Halo: Inverted; while she does have a halo, it's made of Vanity energy.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: Schöneitel started out as a daughter of nobility and a Child Prodigy who was Adopted into Royalty. She was so beautiful that many Princes sought her hoof in marriage, and eventually her adoptive parents made her their successor to the throne. Unfortunately, when Schöneitel cursed her subjects in an explosion of fury on her coronation day, she fled out of guilt, her whereabouts unknown. By the time she's found by Luminiferous and Speedwagon, Schöneitel had become a Solitary Sorceress, making her living as a village witch. With help and encouragement, Schöneitel leaves this life behind and becomes a constructively evil Queen who antagonized heroes to test their morals.
  • Internal Affairs: Implied to have such a role among the Filii Festi. She grew immensely powerful from eating half-siblings and her own children who went astray and had to be contained.
  • I Owe You My Life: She became interested in the Goldstar family due to feeling indebted to Radiant E. O. Speedwagon, who is a Goldstar by marriage and was one of her co-mentors who helped turn her life around after finding her living as a witch in a small, backwater village.
  • It Sucks to Be the Chosen One: As a filly, Schöneitel was prophesied to become a great heroine and Queen who confronted a "great darkness" that threatened Aschenputtel, leading to her being adopted by the ruling King and Queen of one of Aschenputtel's sub-kingdoms. Learning about the prophecy years later caused to realize that she never truly had any choice or free will to begin with, which contributed to her Rage Breaking Point where she chewed out her subjects for their moral hypocrisies and cursed them all on her coronation day as Queen. This led to Schöneitel developing a great distrust of prophecies, seeing them as worthless things that shackle people's potential like how they did hers in her mortal youth.
  • Life Drinker: While lacking the ravenous hunger that her adoptive mother and many of her fellow Filii Festi members possess, Schöneitel makes up for it by using her domain of Mirrors to imprison and drain people of both life and beauty. She only does this to the genuinely wicked and others she found wanting, but the sheer number of mortal kingdoms and realms she absorbed since her Ascension factored into her accelerated power and aging as a goddess.
  • Living Legend: In her mortal youth, she was so beautiful and magically talented that she became one of the most famous damsels in the wider Aschenputtel Empire. Her fame eventually expanded to the point where even nations and kingdoms outside of Aschenputtel heard of her, with various Princes seeking her hoof in marriage. Unfortunately, the constant praises she received made her increasingly spoiled and vain, while also embittering her in light of the moral corruption gripping Aschenputtel at the time. Presently, she is one of the more powerful and well-known Filii Festi members, but in a different way.
  • Magic Hair: Post-Ascension, her mane and tail became composed of slate-gray and light gray Mirrors energy.
  • Magic Mirror: As a goddess of Mirrors, Schöneitel can do things like turning herself into a reflective surface to redirect attacks, traveling through reflective surfaces, creating mirror duplicates and far-reaching attacks, and showing reflections of people's best and worst sides. She can also kill people within mirrors, which makes her useful in combating mirror-based monsters. One of her most terrifying abilities involves imprisoning people within mirrors and draining them of both beauty and vitality. She reserves this fate upon those she genuinely found to be wanting, though it also serves the reason behind her increased divine power and eldritch appearance, as she devoured even entire pantheons through her mirrors.
  • Magic Staff: Schöneitel's royal scepter, Morgen Stern, also functions as this, as she uses it as her main method of channeling her spells. Her spellcasting capabilities are diminished if she were to lose her scepter in some way.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Queen of Mirrors", due to being an evil goddess and Queen who embodies Mirrors and is a master in mirror-based magic.
  • Master of Illusion: As a goddess of Vanity, Schöneitel can cast illusions to stroke or break people's egos. Her upgraded Stand, Heaven's Mirror, can also cast illusions, but to a reality-warping degree.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Schöneitel's name is a combination of the words "schöne" and "neitel", which translate to "beauty" and "vain" in German, respectively. Schöneitel is an Alicorn goddess of Queens who acts like the wicked witches and evil Queens found in classic fairytales, being a beautiful and incredibly talented sorceress whose ego is so big that she covered her own dresses with mirrors and lives in the famous "Palce of Mirrors", a luxurious castle full of... mirrors.
    • Schöneitel's Stand, Mare in the Mirror, is named after the song "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson, and is about the singer resolving to change as a person so he can improve the Crapsack World he lives in. Mare in the Mirror's power takes the song literally by exposing people's darkest thoughts and actions. Following Schöneitel's Ascension, Mare in the Mirror gains a second name, Heaven's Mirror, whose power is upgraded to reality-warping illusions. In other words, those who face it are exposed before God and receiving divine judgement for their sins.
    • Schöneitel's royal scepter (which also functions as a Magic Staff) is named Morgen Stern, which translates to "Morning Star" in German. Given that Morning Star is the Codexverse's equivalent of Satan, either she thought it was poetic considering some of her enemies are corrupt heroes, or she's making an indirect Blasphemous Boast where she's better than the antediluvian Fallen god.
  • Meaningful Rename: Following Schöneitel's divine Ascension, her Stand, Mare in the Mirror, was renamed Heaven's Mirror to reflect their transformations as well as its upgraded powers.
  • The Mirror Shows Your True Self: The main power of Mare in the Mirror involves revealing the true selves of those who look at it, including their darkest sides that they keep hidden. Fittingly, Mare in the Mirror appears as a regal Unicorn mare made of mirrors. Its second form, Heaven's Mirror, upgrades this power to Master of Illusion levels by manifesting people's worst flaws as tangible illusions.
  • Musical Theme Naming: Schöneitel's Stand, Mare in the Mirror, is named after the song "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson.
  • Narcissist: Schöneitel is an utterly vain goddess who embodies Vanity and is extremely proud of her looks — so much that she outfitted her own clothes with mirrors and had a palace of mirrors built just for her. It's justified; born in Aschenputtel, she was taught to believe that Beauty Equals Goodness, and because she was born extremely beautiful, everyone both praised her and expected her to be a pure, heroic damsel. She developed an inflated ego from it, yet she resented being shunted into a restrictive, sexist role while the more corrupt heroes and damsels got away with their misdeeds purely because of their looks. Nowadays, it's subverted; while more open with her vanity, she uses it to test mortal and divine heroes so she can see if they would give in to their own inner vanity or not.
  • Necessarily Evil: While she's an utterly vain goddess who imprisons people within her mirrors and often rules over corrupt realms, she follows "Constructive Evil" and acts as a divine punisher. Much of her actions serve to test mortals to see if they would resist her, with the wicked being trapped in mirrors to be tormented and drained by her. A huge reason why she became the Aschenputtel Trio's Arch-Enemy is because she wants them to avoid falling into corruption like the so-called "heroes" of the now-fallen Aschenputtel Empire, and antagonizes them to keep them on their toes.
  • Noblewoman's Laugh: Befitting her vain and conceited character, she makes haughty laughs whenever things go her way.
  • Psychic Powers: Her domains give her various psychic abilities, namely telepathy and empathy. Her domain of Queens gives her additional Psychic Teleportation whenever she rules something, while she gains the ability to use catoptromancy when she combines her domains of Mirrors and Sorcery together.
  • Psychic Teleportation: In addition to telepathy and empathy, her domain of Queens gives her psychic teleportation whenever she rules something.
  • Rebellious Princess: This is downplayed during her time as a Princess. While she was enraged by the hypocrisy and corruption of Aschenputtel's so-called "heroes", she couldn't do much because mares were expected to be beautiful and virtuous, yet passive damsels. This led to her manifesting her Stand, Mare in the Mirror, and she used it to expose various corrupt heroes from behind the scenes. Sadly, she eventually realized that Aschenputtel is far too corrupt for her to make any sort of impact, contributing to her Rage Breaking Point by the time she became Queen.
  • Riches to Rags: After impulsively cursing her would-be subjects to become corrupted, twisted versions of themselves in her rage, she abandoned both her throne and her sub-kingdom, overcome with guilt over what she had done. By the time Luminiferous and Speedwagon found her, she had become a hermit, making a living as the local witch of a small village. With some convincing, she decides to leave this life behind, becoming a Queen again but in the opposite direction.
  • Solitary Sorceress: After abandoning her throne and fleeing the Aschenputtel sub-kingdom she was to rule in her guilt, Schöneitel started making a living as a village witch. She was seemingly content with this, but a visiting Luminiferous and Speedwagon discovered that she was holding years worth of bitterness and rage towards her former Aschenputtel subjects, who she desired to punish for their moral hypocrisies. With some encouraging, Schöneitel chose to act on her desires, eventually leading to her Ascension and adoption by Queen Eclaira.
  • Speak Ill of the Dead: Schöneitel has absolutely no love for her first adoptive parents, the King and Queen of the Aschenputtel sub-kingdom she was born in. Not only did they force her to conform to sexist fairytale roles, but they also groomed her to fulfill a prophecy made early in her fillyhood, giving her no freedom to live her life whatsoever. As a result, she is utterly disdainful and bitter whenever she speaks of them, with her only regret being not defying them sooner.
Queen Schöneitel: My only regret is not visiting my adoptive parents on their deathbeds... so I can tell them to take their prophecy and shove it.
  • Squishy Wizard: One of Schöneitel's biggest weaknesses is that while she's a very powerful divine sorceress, her skills in physical combat generally involve bashing heads in with her royal scepter. If she were to lose her scepter, her capabilities will be diminished.
  • Staff of Authority: Schöneitel's royal scepter, Morgen Stern, functions as both her Magic Staff and her official symbol of authority as Queen.
  • Stronger Than They Look: While younger than many of her Third Age half-siblings, Schöneitel is actually one of the more powerful members of the Filii Festi, having consumed and absorbed the power of Filii Festi members (including her own children) who went astray.
  • Vain Sorceress: Embodies Sorcery as one of her Domains and shares this trait with many of her half-siblings, being very vain herself.
  • Villainous Lineage: It's speculated that Schöneitel is one of War Rock's distant descendants through either Princess Winter Opera (whom she heavily resembles), or one of his other children. This means that her inclinations for narcissism are hereditary, if true.
  • Your Mom: During the "Silk Dawn Crisis", Schöneitel got in a fight with one of Silk Dawn's loyal, villainous daughters, whom she enraged into recklessness by insulting both her and her mother's fashion sense.
Queen Schöneitel: Your tastes in fashion are as bland and unoriginal as your mother's! And your mother looks like a clown!

Princess Royal Grace, the Elegant Princess

Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal

Portfolio: Royalty, Song, Animals, Healing

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

Affiliation: Filii Festi

"A true Princess must always step out of her comfort zone and lead when her people need her."

Princess Royal Grace (her entry here) is the Alicorn goddess of Royalty, Song, Animals, and Healing, and is the adoptive sister of the twin Princes Brave Heart and Lone Star.
  • Abstract Apotheosis: After realizing she had to fight to protect others and receiving combat training from various heroes, she eventually chooses to Ascend so she could keep the genuinely heroic aspects of fairytales alive. She succeeds after many years, becoming an Alicorn goddess of Royalty, Song, Animals, and Healing.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's an Alicorn goddess who embodies Royalty, Song, Animals, and Healing.
  • Damsel in Distress: Justified. She was indoctrinated since fillyhood to be a helpless damsel because in fairytales, the role of a female is to be kidnapped by the villain, giving the heroes proper motivation to save her. To enforce this, her first adoptive parents sheltered her from the world and spoiled her rotten so she had to rely on her brothers, Brave Heart and Lone Star for protection. This ends up being deconstructed as her indoctrination both left her almost completely helpless in situations where she can't rely on others, and reluctant to fight even in self-defense. She finally breaks free of this role when she uses Magic Music offensively for the first time to protect a group of children from malevolent forces, making her realize that she had to learn how to fight to protect those she cared about.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: While Happily Adopted at first into royalty, Royal Grace was initially heavily indoctrinated by her adoptive parents to conform to a fairytale character archetype whether she liked it or not, forcefully separated from her fellow adoptive siblings, and endure other forms of manipulation and abuses of the toxic society she lived in. And that was before Queen Eclaira came in to destroy her homeland for its sins and left her and her siblings bereft of the family and life they used to know, as well as adopted into a family composed of mainly villainous overlords and dark gods whom they had been taught to distrust and abhor their entire lives. It took her a long time to get over all the issues these resulted.
  • Defector from Decadence: While heavily indoctrinated at first by Aschenputtel's toxic fairytale-obsessed culture and found it difficult to grow beyond her expected role, she eventually realised how wrong it was and was able to break free from her indoctrination, becoming much more assertive and active.
  • Deity of Human Origin: She was originally a mortal Earth Pony who later Ascends as the Alicorn goddess of Royalty of Song, Animals, and Healing so she could keep the heroic aspects of fairytales alive, albeit in a more constructive and tolerant manner.
  • Die or Fly: Royal Grace was forced to use force and her Music Magic offensively in order to protect a group of children she was taking care of from villains trying to harm them during a crisis when her siblings and no one else was available to protect her and them in their stead. This finally made her realised her adoptive parents and society was wrong in forcing her to conform to a being a Damsel in Distress Princess Classic and grow beyond their indoctrination to become a more assertive royal and heroine.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Royal Grace's Animals domain gives her a psychic connection to animals, allowing her to befriend and summon animals for aid. She can also shapeshift herself into various animals or do partial transformations to use certain animal traits. This ranges from critters as small as insects to monsters as big as kaijus.
  • Magic Hair: Post-Ascension, her mane and tail became composed of bright blue Royalty energy.
  • Magic Music: Royal Grace is a master Music Mage with a particular talent in song-based sorceries, able to use singing to cast various spells like summoning hordes of animals, healing mortal wounds, inspiring loyalty and bravery, or even altering the environment around her. She's also a master of ‘Heart Songs’, a particularly potent form of Song magic ‘sung from the heart’ which are potent enough to alter probability and warp reality to a limited degree.
  • Magnetic Hero: Embodying Royalty as depicted in fairytales for one of her domains, she possesses both supernatural leadership skills and charisma as well as the ability to induce fearlessness and give other boons to her allies and subjects.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Elegant Princess".
  • Master Swordsman: Became one after letting go of her indoctrination and become a more actively heroic figure, allowing her to fight by herself and hold her own on the battlefield without her magic or others to protect her.
  • Rags to Royalty: She was a commoner who was adopted into royalty after her beauty and talent in Music Magic was discovered.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Defied at first but ultimately played straight once Royal Grace grew beyond her former indoctrination.
  • Sealed Army in a Can: She can through her domain of Royalty summon a magical army to fight for her.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Royal Grace was indoctrinated into being a Damsel in Distress Princess Classic who plays a mostly supportive role and is helpless without her siblings or other champions defending her. After she got over her indoctrination however she became a Master Swordsman, developed a more assertive personality and became comfortable assuming leadership role in crises and conflicts.
  • White Mage: With her domain of Healing, Royal Grace can heal physical wounds, cure diseases, and purge poisons, and grant blessings that boost people’s ability to heal herself and others.
  • Winged Unicorn: Post-Ascension, she became a beautiful Alicorn goddess with a bright blue mane and tail composed of Royalty energy. However, due to being young by divine standards, she lacks eldritch traits associated with older Alicorns like a halo and a magical wing gradient.
