Arzette

"I will do more than defeat Daimur's evil... I'll end it, for good."
Voiced By: Angel Haven Rey

The princess of Faramore, who answers the call to defeat Daimur and his minions.

  • '80s Hair: She has hair nearly identical to that of Link from the games' inspiration; big and poofy with long locks on both sides.
  • All-Loving Hero: Unfailingly kind to the denizens of her kingdom (with the exception of the Mayor) and is willing to go out of her way to help others.
  • Ambiguously Gay: It’s never outright stated, but she does agree to Maki’s offer to go out for coffee, throwing in a flirtatious wink as she does so.
  • Composite Character: Arzette combines elements of both Link in The Faces of Evil and Zelda in The Wand of Gamelon, having Link's haircut and Zelda's status as an Action Girl princess.
  • Friendly Fireproof: Both of her weapons are Smart weapons that identify friend from foe, being unable to harm the former.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Arzette is extremely kind and helpful to just about everyone she meets, but she won't be such to those who do evil.
    • The mayor refuses to allow Cypress the wolf creature to live in Faramore Town just because he's a wolf. Arzette notes that her smart sword doesn't hurt friendly people, which the mayor isn't being. He instantly grants the wolf citizenship.
    • In her pre-battle conversation with Cornrad, she offers to teach him stronger magic so he can move through means outside of teleportation, instead of serving Daimur in the hopes that he'll grant him more power. When Cornrad refuses to believe her and turns hostile all bets are off.
    • Duke Nodelki mocks how King Rahklin's code of honour failed to save him from death, when Daimur's power could have made him immortal. When Arzette defeats him and he begins to petrify, she declares that she won't show him the same mercy her father did and smashes him to pieces.
    • Upon Daimur's defeat at Arzette's hand, he proclaims he'll just keep coming back from the book he was trapped in before his return. Arzette responds by declaring that he will never threaten Faramore again and kills him with her jewel-enhanced sword.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Arzette is skilled in swordfighting, and her sword receives various upgrades throughout the game (such as the ability to shoot beams), one courtesy of Alven, who turns it into a Chain Sword.
  • Jerkass to One: The snobbish Mayor Covenplate is the only friendly character she shows any real animosity towards, even giving him an Implied Death Threat when he refuses to allow Cypress citizenship.
  • Only Sane Woman: Reacts to some of the more bizarre setpiece interactions with varying degrees of anxiety or nervousness and her expressions are mildly less exaggerated than others. She also expresses some deadpan displeasure at the need to gather up Color Magic on top of all the other collectibles necessary to progress.
  • Mrs. Vice Girl: Arzette has shown to be fairly short-sighted and hastily aggressive in several ways. Downplayed due to the circumstances, and most of the time, these flaws crop up when she's confronted with an opponent.
    • Dail gives her the book that he used to imprison Daimur. Seemingly just because it was from him, Arzette flippantly tosses this potentially useful magic book over her shoulder and out the balcony window. Later on, visiting the Library has her asking if there's a book with information on Daimur, which the book possibly had. The Stinger implies this, alongside some of her other actions, will have further consequences, as the unattended book opens by itself and an unseen voice begins laughing evilly.
    • When she finally gets the Jewel all together from the bosses, she takes it to the blacksmith to imbue it into her sword. On the face of it, it seems like a decent idea. However, the problem comes when the Blacksmith states he only needs one fragment, with the rest becoming magic. In essence, Arzette has allowed the jewel's power to remain fractured, and unable to be used in any other way. That being said, it does successfully kill Daimur, which was the intention of merging the jewel with the sword in the first place, and considering Daimur's sheer terror when he discovers this, it's likely to have stuck.
    • She Meets a young and innocent demon girl, who is a fan of Daimur, and more or less tricks her into believing she's not the Princess to gain a quest item and an upgrade, leaving before she has to give her a name.
    • She's justifiably upset when her father passes away, but neither Daimur nor Duke Nodelki had anything to do with his passing away, so her anger feels more like a projection when she smashes a newly stoned Nodelki and stabs Daimur. Then again, Duke Nodelki did provoke her by mocking her father's honor, and Arzette was already hell-bent on making sure neither he nor Daimur would threaten Faramore ever again. Killing them both was arguably justified, considering the book Daimur was sealed in was a Cardboard Prison and Nodelki refused to reform after only being sentenced to hard labor for treason. Still, her willingness to kill her enemies rather than imprison them when she believes they will refuse to reform indicates she does have a bit of a wrathful streak.
    • She believes she is not ready to be queen after her father passes away. Once her quest is done, rather than take responsibility, she opts to give the people the power instead of being crowned queen. Again, on the face of it, it is a noble idea, the problem is that she has been the Only Sane Woman for most of the adventure, some artifacts require the royal family to activate, and she is also giving away her royal status when it seems another adventure is on the horizon, as evidenced by The Stinger. Granted, she doesn't know this, since as far as she knows the only notable threats to the land have been permanently vanquished.
  • Pretty Princess Powerhouse: Although a princess, she's a skilled swordfighter and the one who sets out to defeat Daimur and his minions.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Not only is she the one set to defeat Daimur and his minions, but she was a skilled swordfighter long before the events of the game.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Arzette is the protagonist, and she has both green eyes and red hair (with platinum blonde streaks).
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: She finishes off Daimur by throwing the jewel-infused sword at him.
  • Vague Age: She looks fairly young and is referred to as "child" and "kiddo" by other characters, but in the Distant Prologue set a decade earlier, she doesn't appear any younger than she does in the present day. She's at least old enough to drink alcohol, as Alven offers her a drink, and she's also old enough to inherit the title of queen once her father passes away.

    King Rahklin

King Rahklin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rahklin.jpg
"Be safe, my daughter."
Voiced By: Brandon Acosta

The kindhearted ruler of the Kingdom of Faramore.

  • Cigar Chomper: He's introduced smoking a cigar, a trait taken from King Harkinian in The King's Epic Adventure.
  • Edible Theme Clothing: His crown looks like a cupcake with a cherry on top, and he has a pineapple emblem on his robes.
  • Expy: Of King Harkinian, being an orange-clad king who, in the past at least, set out to stop the Big Bad.
  • Incurable Cough of Death: Arzette discovers that her father has this during a private meeting after lighting the second beacon. He confides that he does not have much time left.
  • King on His Deathbed: After lighting the third beacon, Arzette returns to find the king in this state. He speaks his last words, praising Wogram for his friendship and service, thanking Dail for being there, and expressing pride and love for his daughter before passing.
  • Nice Guy: A kind king who supports his daughter's quest and on his deathbed, is happy that even Dail is simply there, despite having a pretty infamous reputation for being useless.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Not in the present day due to his age, but the prologue shows that he charged into action to stop Daimur ten years ago alongside Arzette, Dail, and Wogram.
  • Sky Face: He reappears as a cloud formation in the ending, smiling down on his daughter after the day has been won.

    Dail

Dail

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dail_3.jpg
"Another fun adventure for me to stay out of."
Voiced By: Brandon Acosta

A goofy bard and unlikely hero who helped defeat Daimur ten years ago.

  • Action Survivor: The opening narration describes him as an unlikely hero and his biggest contribution to the battle against Daimur ten years ago was to distract Daimur long enough so Arzette could seal him in the Book of Oakurin.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: Downplayed. He's not evil, but he is the CD-i Link if he becomes happy that it is boring around Faramore. He's grown complacent and is too lazy to help the kingdom when the peace all true warriors strive for has finished, preferring to joke around in a time of need. This in itself has a consequence when he gives Daimur's book to Arzette. She puts so little stock into the gesture that she tosses the magical book away, which The Stinger implies is a grave mistake.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He tends to make jokes at inopportune times, and his frivolous nature irritates the rest of the heroes, but when King Rahklin is at death's door, he is as serious and sombre as everyone else. He also grieves for the King just as much as Arzette and Wogram do when he passes on.
  • Expy: Of the CD-i's very keet interpretation of Link.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Arzette and Wogram are usually annoyed by him and his antics. Even as King Rahklin lies dying, the nicest thing he can think of to say to Dail is "I'm glad you're here." For his part, Dail visibly appreciates it as a kind gesture.
  • Ignored Expert: The one time he does something helpful by giving Arzette the Book of Oakurin and advising her to throw it at Daimur, she immediately dismisses it....because she's already resolved to end Daimur for good rather than imprison him again.
  • Quirky Bard: He's retired from adventuring and become a lute-playing bard, occasionally entertaining the King and annoying Arzette and Wogram.
  • Refusal of the Call: Vocally opts to stay out of the adventure when Daimur returns, much to Arzette's annoyance.
  • Shout-Out: According to Dopply, he is named after Dale DeSharone, the director of Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon.

    Wogram

Wogram

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wogram.jpg
"As you know, only a member of the royal family can rekindle the beacons."
Voiced By: John Patneaude

The king's advisor.

  • Bearer of Bad News: He's the one who delivers the news to the castle that Daimur has escaped because the sacred beacons were unlit due to neglect.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Wogram has long eyebrows of a comparable thickness to his moustache and beard.
  • Composite Character: He has Gwonam's role in the story, being the magical advisor to the King, but his appearance pulls heavily from Merlin of Merlin's Apprentice, another Animation Magic title on the CD-i.
  • Expy: Of the CD-i's Gwonam.
  • Magic Staff: Wogram uses a staff like Merlin, rather than a Magic Carpet like Gwonam, or uses the Triforce of Wisdom as a Crystal Ball like Impa.
  • Mr. Exposition: He's the one to inform Arzette and the others of Daimur's return, and he also provides updates and advice to Arzette whenever she returns to the castle after lighting a beacon.
  • Wizard Beard: This probably-wizard has a long and pronounced beard.

Antagonists

    Daimur

Daimur

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arzette_the_jewel_of_faramore_1.jpg
"My revenge will be unforgiving, the punishment will be eternal. This kingdom will be MINE!"
Voiced By: Teffi Anisette Wynn

A demon king sealed inside the Book of Oakurin ten years ago. He returns to wreak havoc on Faramore with the help of his minions.

  • Bat Out of Hell: Daimur's face resembles that of a spectral bat.
  • Big Bad: Daimur is the ultimate threat of the game having been sealed away years ago, and is the one who sent the forces of evil to lay waste to Faramore.
  • Cowardly Boss: Unlike all other bosses, Daimur does everything he can to stay away from Arzette, running away whenever she gets close until he is ultimately cornered.
  • Expy: Daimur is an expy of Ganon, being an Evil Overlord who returns after a noted time of peace; his animation during the intro and before his boss fight mimics Ganon's Deranged Animation when he says "or else you will die!" in The Faces of Evil. His name is also a pun on "Die more." Lastly, he also cries out "IT BURNS!" as he's being defeated like in The Faces of Evil.
  • For the Evulz: His response to Arzette's question on why he chose darkness sums it up:
Daimur: Why not? Power is all that matters. Those who don't agree deserve death.
  • Green and Mean: His skin is pale green and he's the main villain.
  • Oh, Crap!: Learning that Arzette's sword was merged with the Jewel of Faramore (and she intends to use it to kill him) causes him to immediately panic and start begging for mercy.
  • One-Hit-Point Wonder: Like Ganon and other CD-i bosses before him, he dies in one hit, although he's invulnerable to everything but a direct strike from the Sword of Faramore.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: He was trapped inside the Book of Oakurin for a decade, only to be released by Duke Nodelki. Arzette works to find a permanent solution to this, rather than seal him back inside the book.
  • Secondary Color Nemesis: He's got green skin and purple clothing.
  • Smug Snake: He considered Arzette to be the loser when she revealed she did not bring the Book of Oakurin. When she reveals that she instead had the Jewel of Faramore forged into a sword, he quickly flips out and starts pleading for mercy.
  • Throw the Book at Them: He summons projectile books with "DAI" written on them to attack Arzette.
  • Villainous Widow's Peak: He has long, pale blonde hair with a high hairline.
  • Villains Want Mercy: When Arzette corners him while armed with the sword forged with the Jewel of Faramore with intent to kill him for good, he tries to talk her out of killing him by suggesting they can rule together with Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises in his face. She has none of it and throws the blade into his chest.
  • We Can Rule Together: When he realizes that Arzette intends to kill him, and has the means to do it, he panics and says they could rule the kingdom together. She doesn't take him up on his offer.

    Duke Nodelki

Duke Nodelki

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nodelki2.jpg
"You've interfered for far too long. Now join your father in DEATH!"
Voiced By: Justyn Barrios

The former ruler of Amelog and a traitor to Faramore who had been forced to clean the kingdom as punishment. Upon releasing Daimur with intent on vengeance, he becomes one of the evil sorcerer's soldiers.

  • Adaptational Villainy: The original Duke Onkled's characterization and motivations were vague, such that he could easily be interpreted as only siding with Ganon to protect himself in the face of Ganon's invasion. Here, his stand-in is interpreted as completely loyal to the Big Bad.
  • Composite Character: As a traitorous royal who aligns himself with the villain, he's Duke Onkled, but his blue robes and status as a boss with magic powers call to mind Hektan, who was The Dragon to Ganon in The Wand of Gamelon.
  • Deal with the Devil: He released Daimur intent on revenge and willingly gave his soul to him for power.
  • The Dragon: As the one who went out of his way to free Daimur, he is effectively the second in command.
  • Evil Gloating: He taunts Arzette about her father's death before his boss fight.
  • Expy: Duke Nodelki is effectively Duke Onkled as he too betrayed his kingdom to the Big Bad and was punished with scrubbing all the floors. His name is even an anagram of "I, Onkled". To further drive it home, the territory he (formerly) ruled over is an anagram of "Gamelon" with the n removed, which Duke Onkled ruled over.
  • Family-Unfriendly Death: His death is remarkably rough for an otherwise goofy and light-hearted game, even in comparison to the other villains Arzette defeats: He turns to stone while begging for his life, whereupon Arzette smashes his head in with her sword.
  • Greed: The intro cutscene shows Daimur wooing Nodelki onto his side with promises of riches, Nodelki picturing himself swimming in riches.
  • Green and Mean: His skin turns green once he relinquishes his soul to Daimur.
  • Literally Shattered Lives: After Arzette overpowers him, he starts turning to stone much to his horror before Arzette proceeds to smash him to millions of pieces after the petrification finishes.
  • Tennis Boss: In a similar vein to Agahnim, Arzette can deflect his spells to defeat him if she has the reflecting ring.
  • Villains Want Mercy: When he is at Arzette's mercy, he pleads with her not to kill him, but turns to stone before he can finish his sentence. Seeing all he had done after her father had shown him mercy before, Arzette wastes no time using her blade to destroy his now petrified body.

    Klive

Klive

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/klive.jpg
"Enough! Rein it in!"
Voiced By: Andy Field

One of Daimur's enforcers, a horse-man clad in gold armor entrusted with guarding a shard in Durriden Forest.

  • Accidental Pun: A lot of the words Klive uses are horse-related. As Klive is a horseman, Arzette finds what he says amusing.
  • Beast Man: Klive has the head and lower legs of a horse.
  • Boss-Arena Idiocy: He's actually fought on a tree where acorns can be knocked down on him.
  • Delinquent Hair: He has a prominent yellow mohawk.
  • Flat Character: In contrast to Daimur's other minions, who have clear motivations (Nodelki wants power, Beeves wants gold, Apatu wants to get paid, and Cornrad wants to be more than a scarecrow), Klive's personality mostly consists of horse puns.
  • Furry Reminder: Horse puns aside, when he sees he's about to be crushed by a tree, his scream is a horse whinny.
  • Squashed Flat: Klive's defeat has Arzette cut a tree down on top of him.
  • Visual Pun: He's a horse-headed man clad in Trojan-looking armor, making him a literal Trojan Horse.

    Cornrad

Cornrad

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cornrad.jpg
"Prepare to be SHUCKED!"

A living scarecrow who guards one of the jewel shards for Daimur in Creece Canyon.

  • Annoying Arrows: He has four arrows sticking out of his body, having been used for target practice at some point, but doesn't seem at all bothered by them.
  • Disney Villain Death: After Arzette roughs Cornrad up, Crowdee swoops in, picks him up and drops him off a nearby cliff.
  • Edible Ammunition: He fires corncobs as projectiles at Arzette.
  • Hat of Power: Cornrad fires his corncobs from the tip of his hat. It also appears to be prehensile, as he holds his jewel shard with it in the intro.
  • Punny Name: His name is a pun on "corn" and the common name "Conrad".
  • Scary Scarecrows: He's a living scarecrow who works for the Big Bad.
  • Teleport Spam: He can teleport short distances, and this is the only way he can move since he has no legs and his arms are tied up.
  • Villains Want Mercy: After being defeated, he tries to talk Crowdee out of dropping him to his Disney Villain Death. The crow ignores him as he does it.
  • Weird Beard: Cornrad has a patch of yellow fabric sewn to his chin that gives him the appearance of having a goatee.

    Apatu

Apatu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/apatu.jpg
"Tch, you're so boring. You'll be more interesting DEAD!"
Voiced By: Anna Chloe Moorey

A roguish feline, keeper of a shard in the Chillinax Peaks.

  • Cats Are Snarkers: She gives Arzette a lot of sass before her battle, teasing her for seemingly getting lost in the snow, and calling her a preachy "spoiled princess" when she questions how well Daimur pays to be out in such conditions.
  • Dark Action Girl: The most distinctly feminine of Daimur's minions.
  • Ear Notch: She has one on her left ear.
  • Femme Fatalons: Naturally for a cat-woman, she has sharp claws, which she uses to slash at Arzette during her boss fight.
  • Literally Shattered Lives: After taking enough hits, she freezes solid and falls to pieces.
  • Of Corsets Sexy: Her outfit includes a red corset worn as outerwear.
  • Sexy Cat Person: She's a shapely humanoid cat who speaks with a sultry English accent.
  • Teleport Spam: She pops out of nowhere from either side to charge at Arzette with her claws or toss a kunai from a distance.
  • Visual Pun: With the outfit of a fantasy thief/bandit/pirate, she's a literal cat burglar.

    Beeves

Beeves

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beeves.jpg
"Nothing comes between me and my gold! NOTHING!"
Voiced By: Brandon Acosta

A dragon dressed like an 80s businessman who guards the shard at the top of Fort Findula.

NPCs

    Mortar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ss_1a0fdd2a08b69ad23a50ce899dcf30daf1efc5ca1920x1080.jpg
"My goods will improve your fortunes, so long as you improve mine."
Voiced By: Bradley Gareth

Faramore Town's local merchant. He sells lamp oil, rope, bombs, and other useful goods, as long as you have enough rubies.

  • '50s Hair: Mortar has a rather outrageous pompadour.
  • Carpet of Virility: Has a noticeable tuft of chest hair poking out of his shirt.
  • Combat Haircomb: If the player doesn't have enough rubies, Mortar threatens them with a switchblade comb, which he also uses to fix some loose strands in his pompadour.
  • Expy: A blatant expy of Morshu from The Faces of Evil. He has a similar name and design, a baritone voice, and a shrewd personality. He also sells music scrolls in his shop, a reference to Morshu commonly being used in YouTube Poop Music Videos (to the extent that Google lists him as a musical artist).
  • Hidden Depths: He likes writing music in his spare time, and his work is available for purchase in the shop. Buying all of Mortar's music scrolls earns you a permanent discount on his goods.
  • No Hero Discount: Faramore might be in danger, but his shop is not a charity. This can be subverted by buying his music scrolls, which eventually does give you a discount.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Has no problem threatening Arzette with his switchblade comb if she doesn't have enough rubies for something.

    Mayor Covenplate
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captura_de_tela_2024_03_01_093901.png
"Heavens to Betsy, I just want to get back to the ballroom!"
Voiced By: John Patneaude

Faramore Town's mayor.

  • Captain Oblivious: He's completely unaware of the present situation involving Daimur's return, which Arzette sarcastically chides him for.
  • Corrupted Character Copy: Of Mayor Cravendish, who was nothing but polite and helpful when he appeared in The Wand of Gamelon, providing Zelda with a magic lantern in return for saving him. Mayor Covenplate, by contrast, doesn't do anything but refuse to allow Cypress to live in Faramore Town, for no reason other than him being a Wolf Man.
  • Expy: Of Mayor Cravendish, the stuffily dressed mayor of Sakado in The Wand of Gamelon.
  • Fantastic Racism: He refuses to allow Cypress to live in Faramore Town due to him being a Wolf Man. Other Beast Men, like Alven (a moose), are not a problem.
  • Obstructive Bureaucrat: He won't let Cypress into town, not even when the princess asks him to. It takes Arzette hitting him with an Implied Death Threat for him to comply.
  • Punny Name: Covenplate sounds like "covet plate", which references Cravendish and how his name sounds like "craving dish".
  • Shout-Out: After granting Cypress citizenship, Covenplate speeds off while saying "Ahoy-hoy!" While this is an archaic turn of phrase fitting for him (specifically being Alexander Graham Bell's preferred greeting on the telephone), it's also likely a reference to the phrase's usage by Mr. Burns on The Simpsons, and how Cravendish has a very similar voice to him.

    Univor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/univor.jpg
"You don't wanna be caught without a bomb in a hard place."
Voiced By: Heidi Tabing
A knight within Faramore Town who frequently trips.

    Alven
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alven.jpg
"My only tip is to help folks in need. That'll probably steer you on the right path."
Voiced By: Andy Field
A moose man who used to be a great blacksmith. He once dreamed of forging the ultimate weapon, but can't do it without two crucial components, and has since moved on to be a bartender in Faramore Town.
  • Chain of Deals: He kicks off this sidequest by giving Arzette the key to a dungeon that is said to contain one of the items he needs.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: Despite being notably muscular, he describes himself as a "small, timid man", seemingly unaware of his own strength until Arzette "rekindles the kiln in his heart".
  • Ears as Hair: His ears are tied back like a ponytail.
  • Feather Fingers: He can hold things surprisingly well with hooves.
  • Gentle Giant: He may be big, but he lacks the courage to go out and find the oil and chains for his dream weapon. Fortunately, Arzette volunteers to find them for him.
  • Overly Long Gag: Getting him the chains and sacred oil needed to upgrade Arzette's sword results in him weakly clashing it with a tiny hammer for a full minute. Enough time to reassure Arzette that it won't be much longer, and a little later seemingly almost giving up from the effort he's putting into forging.
  • Shout-Out: His voice sounds much like that of Bullwinkle, another cartoon moose.

    Rudy

A giant white rat found within the walls of Faramore Town.

  • The Hermit: He lives within the walls of Faramore Town away from the townsfolk. In spite of this, he's shown to be pretty chill about Arzette blowing a hole in the wall of his home, simply telling her that he could use some sunlight.
  • Offscreen Teleportation: When he challenges Arzette to get through the various locations in the game as fast as she can, he's always found at the finish line waiting for Arzette. As he puts it, she's fast, but he's still faster.
  • Rat Men: He's a humanoid rat, though unlike the Rodai, he's friendly.
  • Resourceful Rodent: He seems pretty content living in the walls of Faramore Town with nothing but a fire and a can of beans. Bring him Arzette Coins and he'll actually leave town to challenge Arzette to speed through various levels, and he always manages to reach the end faster than her. Beat all his challenges, and he somehow grants Arzette infinite soulfire ammo for her Smart Gun.
  • Token Heroic Orc: The Rodai are Rat Men who act as one of the most common minions in Daimur's army, but Rudy is a friendly rat man who gives advice about keeping an eye out for secret paths.

    Brinda
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captura_de_tela_2024_03_01_093536.png
"I lost my husband in the war. He was turned into a creature, got bombed, boom!"
Voiced By: Bonnie Jean Wilbur
A middle-aged widow in Faramore Town's tavern. She has a noticeable New England accent and wishes for Arzette to bring her some "starry" jewelry.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Though more subtly than Alora with Link in The Faces of Evil, she gets a bit flirty with Arzette (complimenting her "eye for beauty", poking her nose and pinching her cheeks), which makes Arzette visibly uncomfortable.
  • Expressive Accessory: When she says her husband got turned into a creature and got bombed, her earrings turn into little bombs with their fuses lit, and turn back to normal after she says "Boom!"
  • Expy: Of Alora from The Faces of Evil. Both are middle-aged women who lost their husbands due to them being turned into monsters, and neither of them seems particularly upset about it. They ask their respective protagonists for jewelry, which they give health-restoring canteens in exchange for.
  • Lascivious Beauty Mark: She has a beauty mark on her left cheek, and seems to flirt with Arzette while asking for her help.
  • Shout-Out: While she is primarily based on Alora from The Faces of Evil, she also mentions that she got her canteen from a hero, referencing how Lady Alma received a canteen from Link in The Wand of Gamelon.
  • Skewed Priorities: She doesn't appear to care that much about her husband having been killed, and seems more upset that he didn't get her the jewelry she wanted.
  • Wine Is Classy: Fancying herself as a fashion-forward woman, she's also regularly seen drinking a glass of wine.

    Salvik
Voiced By: Brandon Acosta
The town drunk, naturally found inside Faramore Town's bar.
  • The Alcoholic: He's found sloppily drinking two tankards of ale, with two empty tankards laying on the floor next to him.
  • Expy: Of Droolik from The Faces of Evil, both being rotund drunks who sound like Barney Gumble and give the protagonist combat advice (Droolik hinting at how to defeat Glutko, Salvik pointing out that you can knock projectiles away with your sword).
  • Punny Name: His name substitutes the "drool" in Droolik for "salv", as in saliva.

    Cypress
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cypress_2.jpg
"You think you could convince the mayor to let me move in then, and stop thinking I'm 'the wolf among us'?"
Voiced By: Bradley Gareth
A wolfman who wishes to move into Faramore Town.
  • Face of a Thug: He does look like a rather intimidating wolf, especially when he comes off as angry, but he all in all is not a bad guy in the slightest.
  • Get It Over With: When he first meets Arzette, he immediately assumes she's come to kill him and tells her to make it quick.
  • Horrible Housing: After moving into Faramore Town with Arzette's help, Cypress ends up living in a ramshackle house next to the library. He tries to spruce it up a bit by asking Arzette to find him a few houseplants to decorate the place with.
  • Wolf Man: He is a humanoid wolf, which ends up being the reason he is denied citizenship until Arzette intervenes.

    Fairy

A fairy found in the desert who gives fairy dust.

  • G-Rated Stoner: She has the most outlandish expressions out of the entire cast and the way she presents fairy dust to Arzette comes off in a very drug dealing way.
  • No Name Given: Unlike every other character who have names (even if most of them are a case of All There in the Manual), the fairy is not given a name whatsoever with even her Steam Trading Card simply referring to her as Fairy.

    Frich

  • Frog Men: He's a humanoid frog of wealth and taste.
  • Furry Reminder: As fancy as he presents himself to be, he eats like a regular frog, launching his long and sticky tongue to catch the golden fly.
  • Non-Mammalian Hair: Despite being an amphibian, he has a full head of dark green hair.
  • NPC Roadblock: Will not let you continue through Norin Swamp until you've fed him a suitably fancy bug.
  • Picky Eater: Like any other frog, he eats insects, but he won't accept just any bug, only ones coated in precious metals.

"I wanna run faster but the hot sand hurts OW!"

A purple crocodile who likes to move fast.
  • Agony of the Feet: His shoes are worn out and the hot sand burns his feet, impeding his speed. To help him, Arzette needs to bring him a new pair of shoes.
  • Expy: A brightly-colored anthropomorphic animal who likes to go fast? It's clear whom he is based on.
  • Speed Demon: He loves running fast, and is introduced running back and forth on Badonc Beach faster than any other NPC.
  • Wheel o' Feet: His legs are drawn this way when he runs.

"I just like making breakfast.... You know. Eggs. Pancakes."

A vampire whose castle was taken over by Nodelki. As a result, he's been forced to take residence in Faramore Town's library.
  • Brick Joke: After defeating Duke Nodelki and returning to Count Denny, he tells Arzette to visit his castle if she wants a slam dunk of a breakfast. Sure enough, if you go back to the room Nodelki was occupying, Denny is there, and he offers Arzette breakfast.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Implied — after taking back his castle, his reward for Arzette is a swimsuit calendar.
  • Creepy Shadowed Undereyes: He has visible eye bags most of the time, adding to his somewhat intimidating appearance.
  • Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: While Arzette is a bit wary of him at first, and he seems to relish in Duke Nodelki's demise, he's otherwise unfailingly kind for a vampire. He goes out of his way to assure Arzette that he's only interested in making breakfast.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: Count Denny makes a spooky first impression, and his appearance invokes the "wealthy villain" archetype, wearing an embroidered bathrobe and having a glass of wine on hand. However, it's subverted, as he isn't a bad guy after all.
  • Mind over Matter: He can telekinetically carry objects near him. In his idle animation, he can be seen levitating a glass of wine and a cookbook.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Count Denny is a vampire, but he is first found in Faramore Town during the day. Not only that, but he also likes making breakfast foods.
  • Punny Name: His name is Denny, and he likes making breakfast such as eggs and pancakes, referencing the breakfast chain Denny's. After he's been helped, he says Arzette can visit if she ever wants a "slam dunk" of a breakfast, referencing Denny's famous Grand Slam meal.

"Awesome! I'm a big fan. Can't believe that dumb Princess is trying to stop him."

A demon girl who is a huge fan of Daimur.
  • Cute Monster Girl: She's an adorable little demon.
  • Fangirl: Of Daimur. Complete with a "GO DAIMUR" sign and merchandise.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Despite being a smart sword-certified friendly, she is an avid fan of Daimur, a remorseless and power-hungry monster.
  • Kill It with Water: Implied. She rejects Arzette's offer of water, saying it would literally kill her, and asks her to bring some crisp oil instead.
  • Tears of Blood: When Arzette gives her crisp oil, she cries black tears of joy, presumably also oil. Apparently, demon biology is composed of oil rather than water.
  • Token Heroic Orc: Even though she establishes herself to like Daimur, she is friendly as the smart sword doesn't hurt her. She even gives Arzette helpful items in exchange for Arzette providing her oil to consume and 250 souls. Granted, she doesn't know who Arzette is nor does she find out, but she shows to be grateful toward her all the same calling her the nicest human she's ever met.
  • Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises: When she emphasizes that Arzette's offer of water would literally kill her.
