Arata Kasuga always thought himself as but another Ordinary High-School Student, everyday routine and all, together with his cousin and childhood friend Hijiri. One day, he suddenly wakes up to find a mysterious black sun burning in the sky. No one seems to find it odd... and soon it becomes apparent to him that something is wrong.

It turns out that this world was an illusory recreation of Astil Manuscript, a grimoire the real Hijiri left behind when the Black Sun appeared and triggered the "Breakdown Phenomenon" which destroyed his hometown only three days before. He was eventually confronted by Lilith Asami, a crimson-haired girl he (and the fake Hijiri) met earlier, who forces him to choose either dispelling the illusion, surrendering the grimoire, and having all his memories of his past life erased... or be executed on the spot for creating the illusion in the first place. However, when the fake Hijiri confesses that the real one is still alive, Arata decides to Take a Third Option: keep the grimoire, become a magician, save Hijiri and stay alive through it all.

To this end he joins Royal Biblia Academy, a Wizarding School where Lilith works as a teacher (despite the fact that she is just Arata's age), where the headmaster is a Chivalrous Pervert, and where he meets "Trinity Seven": a school body composed of seven of its most powerful mages, of which Lilith is one. Thus Arata begins his quest to control the grimoire Hijiri bequeathed to him in order to save not only her but his entire hometown, unaware of what lies ahead.

Trinity Seven: Shichi-nin no Mahou-Tsukai is a manga series written by Kenji Saitou and illustrated by Akinari Nao (Psycho Busters), which began serialization in Monthly Dragon Age in 2010. A drama CD was released in September 2011, and was also given an anime adaptation in October 2014.

This series features examples of:

• Academy of Adventure: Arata and the others are sent out quite often to investigate mysterious magical things going on. Sometimes within the school itself, and sometimes in areas outside of it.
• Action Girl: Levi and Akio above all others, though Lilith is plenty capable with her magic guns. To a lesser extent virtually every named female character qualifies, since the rest are more reliant on their magic abilities than mere physicality.
• Almost Kiss:
  • In the first light novel, Arata and Lilith are having a romantic moment at the academy's garden during the night. They come close to kissing, only for the rest of Trinity Seven and Selina to reveal they have been watching the whole time. Arata was more than happy to continue where they left off, but Lilith goes ballistic with her machine gun and knocks everyone out with sleep bullets.
  • In Chapter 58, Anna tries to kiss Arata to thank him for giving her a complete physical body, but door falls over and reveals everyone else in Arata's harem was eavesdropping. Again, Arata was willing to carry on with the kiss, but Anna is too embarrassed now.
• Amusing Injuries: Arata often has a red handprint on his face after getting slapped by Lilith.
• And the Adventure Continues: The Headmaster essentially talks about this at the end of the OVA, as there are still enemies out there, and Arata still has to find Hijiri.
• Anthropomorphic Personification: Sora and Ilya, the anthropomorphic personifications of the Astil Manuscript and the Ilias Fragment.
• Anti-Magic: Arata's power negates the Magus Mode of his targets.
• Arrow Catch: Arata catches Levi's message arrow mid-air in Chapter 72.
• Badass Crew: The Trinity Seven are ostensibly the most powerful mages in the world after an awakened Demon Lord, though so far the current Seven have been hit by The Worf Effect a few times, especially against the evil mages of Iscariot.
• Balanced Harem: All the girls of Trinity Seven are crucial to the plot because they're fundamental for Arata's progression as a Demon Lord candidate as he acquires their archives by becoming closer to them. All of the Trinity Seven are prominent and get plenty of screentime. Some other girls who aren't part of Trinity Seven and also love Arata, like Hijiri and Anastasia, are relevant as well.
• Battle Harem: The Trinity Seven are the top mages of their individual archives and they all develop an attraction for Arata.
• Beach Episode: Episode 3 spends some time at the beach while the school is undergoing repairs due to Arata's breakdown from the previous episode.
• Bedmate Reveal: Arata wakes up next to Yui and Arin sleeping beside him in episode 5.
• Big Brother Instinct: Arata carries around a picture of himself and Hijiri that she drew as a child. He's immediately accused of having a sister complex because of it.
• Bilingual Bonus: In episode 5, when Selina's older twin sister Lieselotte is introduced, Arata proclaims "Knee socks!" in English, which—due to the Japanese Ranguage—sounds exactly like "Nee-san".
• Blood from the Mouth: Levi does this in episode 11 while fighting Lugh. She coughs up quite a bit too, which starts to cause Yui to worry.
• Boisterous Bruiser: Akio likes to solve her problems by kicking them.
• Borrowed Catchphrase: The OVA has Arata borrowing Arin's Character Catchphrase, "This is difficult," when they're being scolded by Lilith and Arin hasn't thought of a way out other than enduring it.
• Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick: The headmaster's words to Arata about Trinity Seven: "Meet them, fight them, and violate them".
• Breaking the Fourth Wall: This being a manga is lampshaded from chapter to chapter.
• Bridal Carry: Arata carries some girls like Mira, Liese, Arsha, and Anna bridal-style at different points. And in all cases the girls are naked.
• Buxom Beauty Standard: Arata is very vocal about his preference for large breasts, though he does think smaller ones have their own charm too.
• Cast from Hit Points: Arata's grimoire warns him in episode 4 that if he uses his magic too much, he could end up turning into one of those demons they just fought. More so for him because of his demon lord candidacy, but he takes his chances with it to take out the phantom dragon in Yui's room.
• Character Catchphrase:
  • Arata: "thank you for the meal", said whenever he sees any of the Trinity Seven naked or in otherwise revealing outfits.
  • Arin: "this is difficult", said any time she tries (and fails) to react as a normal person would.
  • Levi: "(because) I'm a ninja", said even (or perhaps especially) when it doesn't apply.
  • Mira: "how impure", said whenever Arata does anything that might remotely be construed as perverted.
• Chekhov M.I.A.: It's mentioned early on that the seventh of the Trinity Seven went missing a year or two ago. That's Liese, Selina's twin sister.
• Chekhov's Gun: A drawing by Hijiri during her childhood clued in Arata to The Masquerade — the sun is red, not black as most people in his "reconstructed" hometown think.
• Chekhov's Skill: Arata's Nudifier anti-magic attack turns out to be essential to his power copying, as using his power to deconstruct another's magic is the required last step of learning to access that mage's Archive and Thema. Yep, his power mandates indulging his perversion.
• Childhood Friend Romance: Lilith's parents, Abyss Trinity and Arles Azazel/Asami, were friends since they attended the Magic Academy as children.
• Chivalrous Pervert:
  • Arata will gladly comment about how hot Yui is despite her childlike appearance, but he wouldn't kiss her. Yet.
  • In the OVA Arata turns down the chance to do perverted things with the scantily clad sleeping-but-not-really Mira, instead tucking her into bed and ruffling her hair affectionately.
  • In the same OVA he later turns down Lilith when she offers to have sex with him so he can learn about her magic thema, Lust. He explicitly points out that since everyone's Thema is the opposite of their personality, it means Lilith doesn't want to be lustful.
• Classical Elements Ensemble: In Levi's spin-off, Ryuhime has four ninja spirits which each having one of the four Elemental Powers of Chinese mythology: Itsukihime has the power of Green Thumb (Wood), Homurahime has Playing with Fire powers (Fire), Sakaihime has Dishing Out Dirt abilities (Earth), and Sumihime has Making a Splash abilities (Water). Ryuhime herself rounds out the Five-Man Band by possessing the element of gold (Metal).
• Clingy Jealous Girl: Some members of the Trinity Seven start to get jealous when a girl gets closer to Arata, though some (like Arin and Yui) are okay with it so long as the other girl makes it clear they can still have Arata, too.
• Clothing Damage: Lots of it. The clothes of mages is made of magic fabric, so any attack that nullifies their magic power also destroys their clothes and leaves them naked. So far, Levi is the only one who has managed to avoid being stripped.
• Comforting Comforter: In Chapter 113, a flashback shows Arles Asami covering a sleeping young Abyss Trinity with a blanket.
• Cool Starship: The "Demon Lord's Castle Noah" is a giant castle created at Demise by the last descendants of Azazel. It also functions as a spaceship that Arata and his allies use to travel across worlds in search of the Trinity Seven as Arata needs to find them again before his rematch against the goddess Aryan Celes.
• Crash-Into Hello: Arata accidentally does this to Lugh in episode 11 after they arrive back at the school.
• Credits Running Sequence: Arata does this in the second ending sequence.
• Date Peepers: Several of the girls do this in episode 12 when Arata is hanging out with Lilith in town. In the manga this is a fairly reoccurring troupe.
• Deadpan Snarker: Arin, who's pretty much deadpan all the time.
• Defrosting Ice Queen: Lilith and to some extent Mira have warmed up to Arata...but they still smack him on occasion for anything perverted he does.
• Delayed Reaction: Played for Laughs in the first episode with Arin when Arata spots her in the men's bath. He's actually weirded out by her non-reaction to seeing him naked, then finds Lilith who does an appropriate yell. When they see Arin again, it takes her a moment to realize she's supposed to scream, but she does it in an emotionless tone that doesn't fool anyone.
• Delaying Action:
  • Levi takes on Lieselotte in episode 6 to give Mira time to use her scan ability and select the appropriate counter to use on her.
  • Levi does this again in episode 11 to buy time for Arata and the others to make it back to the school.
• Dirty Old Man: The Headmaster is also quite perverted like Arata.
• Disproportionate Retribution: After Levi gropes Lilith a little too much in episode 3, she responds by firing her BFG inside the beach house.
• Does This Remind You of Anything?: Liese's behavior upon stealing a lot of magical power all at once is blatantly similar to having an orgasm.
• Double Standard: Rape, Female on Female: In the OVA, several of the other ladies corner Lilith in the shower and start groping, fondling, and taking lewd pictures of her, the whole time yelling at her to be more receptive since her Thema is Lust. She is clearly not okay with this and not enjoying it, but when we see her a few minutes later she is completely fine, rather than broken and dead inside like a normal person probably would be.
• Dual Age Modes: Yui's dream-self is an older version of her.
• Equivalent Exchange: Alchemy is based on it, so overuse can lead to losing one's soul.
• Evil Is Easy: It's why Liese became an Evil Magus.
• Excuse Plot: The OVA, in which Arata is told he's in danger of being expelled for not understanding more about Thema research. He is then told to talk to the girls in the series, learn about their Thema, and turn in a report on it in the morning the next day. Basically he spends "quality" time with each girl, several of whom are more than eager to get into his pants, were it not for a meddling Lilith ruining every attempt.
• Floating Continent: The fittingly named Sky Library is located at a floating piece of land.
• Functional Magic: Mages use different magic processes and styles according to the Thema of their research.
• Gingerbread House: The demon commander Arbariccia, controlling the body of a Cute Witch, lives in a house made of candy.
• Great Offscreen War: Thousands of years ago, the Paladin mages fought against the demon army of the Great Demon Lord Dis Trinity in the Great Magic War. The war ended when the World Tree priestess Celestia sacrificed herself to seal Dis Trinity in the lowest level of Dante's Gate.
• Helping Would Be Killstealing: The Headmaster does this repeatedly. He's shown to be quite dangerous if he has to actually use his powers, but he deliberately holds back so as to let Arata and the others take care of the situation and grow from the experience.
• Henshin Hero: Use of magic requires entering Magus Mode, which involves opening one's Grimoire, an Instant Costume Change into a (cooler or sexier) outfit, and conjuring any required tools. (Lilith, for example, goes from her more conservative preferred clothes to A-grade Zettai Ryouiki, a tight white sleeveless blouse and short tie, and full-length opera gloves, plus BFG.) Leaving Magus Mode returns one's clothing to normal — unless one has been forcibly returned to normal by Arata's Anti-Magic, of course. The only exception to this is Levi, who doesn't seem to change outfits at all when she activates her Magus mode. Coincidentally, she is also the only of the Trinity Seven who Arata hasn't forcibly stripped naked via his Anti-Magic.
• Hotter and Sexier: The OVA, in which several of the girls are scantily-clad, or naked in Yui's case, and Arata has an Imagine Spot of doing perverted things with them.
• I Am Not Left-Handed: Levi does this a few times against Lieselotte in episode 6. Several of her attacks manage to nearly land against the latter, and when she attempts to teleport, Levi's Super-Speed is able to keep up with wherever she goes.
• Idiot Ball: After seeing Liese steal Selina's magical power, Arata all but allows her to do the same to him in the exact same manner.
  • She cheated by mentioning Hijiri, which at that point still made Aratas brains fall out of his ears.
• I Let You Win: The Headmaster against Liese, knowing her quest for power will only lead her to ruin.
  "The moment evil seeks a greater power is the moment they lose."
• Immortality Begins at Twenty: In the first light novel, Lilith explains to Arata that very powerful maguses stop their aging processes at the prime of their youth. Arata and the Trinity Seven might have already stopped aging.
• Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Levi suffers this in episode 11 from one of Lugh's attacks.
• Improbably Female Cast: Justified by way of Mother Nature, Father Science. Characters explain magic as a very emotional practice but men tend to the more theoretical side of things. So, there are more female mages than male. The only male mages seen so far are Arata and the Headmaster, as well as a few nameless (and outnumbered) background characters.
• In the Name of the Moon: The Trinity and Arata's transformations begin with this: "Connecting to the [insert name] Archive, executing my Thema".
• Invisible to Normals: Spirits can only be seen by those with a high connection to the world and its natural cycle like Anastasia who deeply loves the world and Arata who is the next Demon Lord destined to end the world.
• Just Friends: Even with the romantic implications, Arata would prefer he and Lilith's relationship stay this way.
• Kick Chick: Akio's primary means of magic delivery is via a devastating kick.
• Let's You and Him Fight: Akio interprets Levi's actions in the labyrinth in episode 4 as a challenge, and goads the latter into a fight. When Mira protests that they don't have time, Akio says Levi and the others will get in their way sooner or later, so it was best to take care of her right away. Levi tells the others to go on and find Yui while she holds off Mira and Akio. Subverted moments later, when all three girls show up, calling a truce to deal with the much bigger threat of a phantom dragon inside Yui's room.
• Loophole Abuse: In episode 2, Arata, Lilith, Selina, and Levi are stuck in his room due to a magical barrier. His grimoire gives him vague clues as to what to do, such as doing irrational things. So they instead lie about having found out the secret hiding spot of the seal. After his grimoire mentions where the magical seal was, they then find it and destroy it to escape.
• Lotus-Eater Machine: The entire town in the first chapter is an illusion created by a grimoire that "granted" Arata's wish of having Hijiri and his normal life back after the Breakdown Phenomenon destroyed his down and made Hijiri disappear.
• Love Makes You Evil: It turns out Hijiri is trying to destroy the world due to her love for Arata, though admittedly she has a reason to be outraged since he's fated to destroy the world just so it can be remade and repeat the cycle eternally.
• A Magic Contract Comes with a Kiss: In Levi's spin-off manga, Ryuhime and Charme Murasame share a Spit-Trail Kiss when they form a magic contract between magus and magic sword.
• Marry Them All: Arin, Liese, and Yui all have explicitly said they would be okay with sharing Arata, and Levi is both completely without jealousy and sometimes just as perverted towards the other girls as Arata. Plus, due to the time-loop-slash-prophecy that Arata will become the Demon Lord and take the Trinity Seven as his harem, this has technically already happened at least once.
• Moment Killer: Lilith does this repeatedly any time she suspects Arata is doing naughty things with the girls privately.
• Never Bareheaded: Lilith always has a little beret-like hat, in or out of Magus Mode.
• Ninja: Levi. Her Character Catchphrase is :"Because I'm a ninja", even if it has nothing to do with the situation.
• Nose Bleed: Arata suffers one in the OVA after hearing several of the girls molesting Lilith while they were bathing.
• Not What It Looks Like: Lilith goes into Arata's room to wake him up in episode 5. She immediately spots him with Yui and Arin sleeping in his bed, and assumed they must have been doing naughty things. Rather than clear up the misunderstanding, Arata instead invites her into the bed as well. She declines.
• The Nudifier: Arata's first spell. Justified as part of his Anti-Magic arsenal, since "Magus Mode" creates magical clothing for the user.
• Oh, Crap!:
  • Lieselotte has this look from time to time in episode 6 when it seems Mira and Levi have the upper hand. The others also have this look when Lieselotte seems to be have the advantage.
    • Then there's her fight with the headmaster at the end of the episode, who is so much more powerful that he dispels all of her attacks with ease, and even gives her pointers on how to be stronger.
• One Cast Member per Cover: The first seven volumes feature one of the titular Trinity Seven on the cover. From then on, the covers have either a female magus or a grimoire in her human girl form.
• Out of Focus: Initially billed as a main character alongside Arata, Lilith rapidly fades from the spotlight. Lampshaded at the start of a later chapter. Subverted later on as the story brings her out to forefront once again. Arata even takes her out on a date and later meets her father who turns out to be a Demon Lord from another world.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: Selina is a magus, but she's an ordinary one and nowhere close to the level of the Trinity Seven.
• Party Scattering:
  • In the Dante's Gate arc, Arata and the Trinity Seven plus Selina are scattered across the circles of Hell where each must face one of the Malebranche's demon generals.
  • It happens again in the Battle Against the Gods arc where the heroes are defeated by the goddess Aryan Celes. Arata, the Trinity Seven and the few surviving Adjudicators are sent to separate dimensions in order to prepare themselves for the rematch against Aryan Celes and her god's kin that have possessed most of the Adjudicators.
• Pervert Revenge Mode: Arata and the Headmaster are often on the receiving end of slaps and/or punches from Lilith after they get a bit too perverted.
• Piggyback Cute: In Chapter 21/Episode 9, Arata and Mira need to climb a ladder, but she's Going Commando due to Clothing Damage earlier. Arata then decides to climb with Mira on his back; he can't go up first since he can't see traps better than Mira, and she can't go first for obvious reasons.
• Potty Emergency: Exaggerated into fourth-wall breakage in chapter 3/episode 2. Arata, Lilith, Levi, and Selina are trapped in a barrier around his dorm room, and one of them observes they'll have to get out eventually just because there's no bathroom there. Cue Lilith suddenly having to go, then Levi, then Levi faux-hypnotizing Selina into needing to go, all while they crack jokes about the direction the manga is taking so early, or Selina blaming Levi for wanting them all to become "piss heroines."
• Power at a Price: Liese's ultimate spell allows her to freeze time, but it risks trapping her for good. Arata promises Selina to bring her sister back. He keeps his promise later.
  • It's implied every Last Crest involves the user taking massive risks for similarly massive power. More than a few mages choose to broaden their power base by exploring other Themas rather than seek out something so dangerous, even if they could potentially achieve the power to become one of the Trinity Seven. Levi even bluffed with hers to escape a potentially unwinnable battle.
• Power Incontinence: The Breakdown Phenomenon can be invoked willingly, but more commonly seems to be caused by very poorly controlled phenomenal magic power. Arata can cause it (or make an existing situation worse) if he loses control of his powers, and a similar thing happened with Yui. The Grimoire Security organization that Mira and Akio work for is dedicated to shutting down occurrences of the Phenomenon by any means necessary.
• Power Perversion Potential: When Arata discusses learning how to focus his Anti-Magic attack to hit single targets, the others (not unreasonably) assume it's because he wants to be able to disrobe them more effectively.
• Power Stereotype Flip: Magic operates irrationally and without "common sense", so a regular mage can only use it by working with a Thema that is absent from their normal personality makeup. One of the most obvious examples is the emotionless Arin, whose Thema is Wrath.
• Pull the Thread: In the first episode, Arata notes a drawing Hijiri made when they were younger, and noticing the yellow sun on it. After Lilith shows up, he asks Hijiri again what color the sun is. She says it's black. He points out the color discrepancy with the drawing from earlier. "Hijiri" then turns out to be a grimoire his cousin left in his care right before disappearing, and the world they were living in was a fake one, and Arata begins his quest to save his cousin.
• Razor Floss: Levi attempts to use this in episode 11 against Lugh. However, it only stops her temporarily, as Lugh simply cuts the wires after realizing she was in Levi's trap.
• Reality Warper: The potential heights of Arata's power, given the reconstruction of his hometown at his wish in the first chapter.
• Refuge in Audacity: Arata lives by this. Every time he's found in a compromising situation, he pushes it further so he can get away with nearly anything being "just a joke." Magic works better for him as a result of thinking like this, too.
• Refusal of the Call: When first offered power during the Breakdown Phenomenon, Arata wished for nothing more than his normal life and cousin back.
• The Reveal: Hijiri shows up again in episode 10, after having been missing for much of the earlier episodes. Unfortunately she's working with the bad guys at the moment, and laments having to fight Arata after he chose to fight against their goals.
• Rule of Three: Threes are important in magic - "Trinity" keeps popping up for a reason. Mages can learn more than one Thema within their Archive, and those who have learned at least three are able to access some kind of "trinity" mode or power. It's also the prerequisite for controlling some of the most powerful magic weapons, and seems to be inherent in mastering one's own Demon Lord potential. Oddly, the Trinity Seven are themselves not quite bound by the same rule to get that title; instead they have to master the Last Crest ultimate magic of their Archive.
• Sadly Mythtaken: Demon Spear Gungnir being Scathach's spear? Granted both mythologies have rune magic.
  • Averted in the anime, where it's properly named Gae Bolg.
• Samus Is a Girl: Arata's grimoire reveals itself to have a feminine avatar and goes by the name "Sora".
• School Festival: The Magic Research Presentation Festival held by Royal Biblia Academy is a festivity where students from several magic academies gather to watch others' magic research and enjoy more typical festival booths.
• Sealed Evil in a Can: There's a being inside Arata, the real Demon Lord Candidate, "Astral Trinity". Sora and Ilya were pretty shaken up when he appeared.
• Seven Deadly Sins: The archives from which magi can derive a Thema are based on them and even the Last Crest of each archive is named after the patron demons governing them. However, his/her thema is actually the opposite of his/her actual personality.
  • Envy (Invidia): Levi, a Ninja with no high expectations of others.
  • Gluttony (Gula): Akio, a lithe and fit Kick Chick raised as a disciplined nun.
  • Greed (Avaritia): Yui, a humble girl who only wants to have friends and sleep.
  • Lust (Luxuria): Lilith, who abhors perversion.
  • Pride (Superbia): Mira, who's willing to put her life on the line for others, and Arata, who has no shame.
  • Sloth (Accedia): Liese, who wanted more power faster instead of taking the safe route.
  • Wrath (Ira): Arin, The Stoic.
• Shout-Out: Warp portal in episode 8 is a Stargate.
• Skinship Grope: Yui, Arin, and Levi do this to Lilith in the OVA.
• Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Levi. Again, Lampshaded.
• Stable Time Loop: In the spin-off Lieselotte Chronicle, Aries creates one by traveling to Liese's past to restore Liese's power as an infinite demon and prevent the vampires from taking Gleipnir.
• Take a Third Option: Arata will often do these given the choice:
  • When they first meet, Lilith offers to erase his memories and let him live, or be killed due to his grimoire. He decides he wants to retain his memories so he can rescue Hijiri, and refuses to die, so he instead enrolls in the magic academy. Much to her surprise, the headmaster allows him to join.
  • When Yui unintentionally begins a breakdown phenomenon in episode 4, Mira and Akio head out to investigate, and likely kill her. Arata and the others instead beat them to Yui, and in the end he ends up saving her after he starts to learn how to use his grimoire for offensive magic.
• Talking Is a Free Action: Occurs often during the serious battle scenes,with the opponents analysing each others' spells and actions, in addition to some banter about Arata's perversions.
• Team Title: The titular Trinity Seven are a set of seven powerful magi who have learned the Dangerous Forbidden Technique at the heart of each of their magic Archives, one for each type. All the current group are students at Royal Biblia Academy (and one of them is a teacher).
• Thanks for the Mammary: Arata does this a lot...usually to every new girl introduced.
• There Was a Door: In episode 4, Arata and the others head into the academy's underground labyrinth to investigate the breakdown phenomenon. Despite having to fight some demons, they manage to get down there faster than Mira and Akio, who simply broke through several floors, then kicked down the walls to where Arata and the other girls were at.
• Token Mini-Moe: Yui is an unusual example, being a large breasted little girl.
• Tournament Arc: The School Festival arc has the Magic Research Battle, a small tournament where Arata, Trinity Seven, and the most powerful mages from the Liber and Akasha Academies have fights in duos.
• Training from Hell:
  • Arata is forced to fight Akio in episode 6 to help him get up to speed quickly on using his magic powers after they barely manage to escape Liselotte.
  • In the Dante's Gate arc, Mira is made train under Arsha to reach her potential as a Hero candidate...by being stabbed by one of Arsha's Eleven Divine Magic Swords of Tiamet and dying repeatedly until she can resurrect in a second.
• Transformation Sequence: Usually happens when a fight is about to break out.
• Traumatic Superpower Awakening: Happens to Arata in episode 10 after Ilya continues to goad him with attempting to kill Mira and Sora. His demon lord power awakens, and he wrests control of the dimension they were in from Ilya with ease, unintentionally saving Mira and Sora in the process.
• Vicious Cycle: Demon Lord candidate meets Trinity Seven, they destroy the world, world is reborn, and cycle repeats yet again.
• We Can Rule Together: Hijiri offers this to Arata, and later Liese. Both of them decline the offer, stating they'd rather spend time in this world with their friends than destroy it like she wants to.
• We Want Our Jerk Back!: Mira does this to Arata in episode 11, slapping him and saying she has nothing to give to him in his demon lord form. This buys Sora time to seal the demon lord away so they can get the old Arata back.
• Wizarding School: There's three academies for mages; Biblia where the main cast attends, Liber, and Akasha.
• Wizards Live Longer: According to Lilith in the first light novel, maguses extend their lifespans to continue their researches for as long as possible. Some of the oldest ones are Really 700 Years Old.
• World of Action Girls: 95% of mages in the series are women and they're all quite powerful. It's mentioned that most men don't have the aptitude for magic due to its spiritual nature with few like Arata and the Headmaster being exceptions.
• Year Inside, Hour Outside: The Void Library of the Akasha Academy is a Pocket Dimension where time flows 120 times faster than in the real world. Therefore, it gets used for a magus to train when they must get stronger within a short amount of time. Arsha brings Mira there for her training during the Dante's Gate arc.
