"The world of miracles, Popstar was in trouble, no one fully knew why, but they needed help, and help could arrive via a child, 15, optimistic and sweet, deep pink hair, and always happy to help. This child's name? Kira "Kirby" Popopo."

Hoshi no Purikura is a Kirby and Pretty Cure fusion fanfiction created by Agent 9 on Archive of Our Own.

When the world of miracles, Popstar, was in trouble, a call was made to a normal 15 year kid by the name of Kira (Kirby) Popopo for help. In turn them and other six of their friends gained a magical make-up compact by the name of the "Dreams Pact" allowing them to become the magical warriors, the "Hoshi no Purikura". Together, they protect both Popstar and Earth from the forces of darkness and whatever other adversaries they may face.

[Hoshi no Purikura] contains examples of:

  • Action Girl: Ado/Cure Paint as expected, it can also apply to Ribbon, Vivi, Pai and Gryll.
  • Adapted Out:
    • Pyribbit, for being that annoying.
    • The battle against Squashini.
    • The strawberry shortcake, it's replaced by Wishes pocket watch.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy:
    • Both Maruku and Mahora by virtue of being part of the team.
    • The artist sisters since they're being possessed.
    • Squashini, he actually just gives them the yarn so that they may stop Yin-Yarn.
    • Hope/Cure Hopes since her and Star Dream are separate characters here.
  • Adoptive Name Change: Once Magolor was adopted by the Webe family he changed his name to Mahora.
  • All Loving Hero: Kira is definitely this to both their family and friends, the fact that they offered kindness to the blob of Dark Matter that became Gooey should be a good sign.
  • 11th Hour Superpower: What happens during most of the final battles of each arc:
    • The Star Witch ability for the Adventure arc
    • The Rainbow knight ability for the Rainbow Islands/Super Star arc
    • The Love Love mode for the Dark Matter invasion arc
    • The Super abilities for the Return to Dreamland arc
    • The Hypernova mode for the Triple Deluxe arc
    • The Crystal mode for the arc of the same name
    • The Halberd transformation of the Robobot armor during the Robobot arc

  • Airbone Aircraft Carrier: The Halberd as in canon.
  • Alien Sky: What happens to the sky on Earth thanks to Cure Religion's actions.
  • Alternate Universe Fic: As a Kirby/Precure fusion it is to be expected.
Alternative Character Interpretation: There are multiple examples, like:
  • Maruku: He's not evil here, contrary to his canon counterpart, though he definitely is as chaotic.
  • Mahora: Since he was raised by the Webe family he ended up with actual morals, he also isn't much of a liar.
  • Mirror Web: Unlike his appearance and canon counterpart suggests he really isn't evil, just really vain.
  • Hope/Cure Hopes: In complete difference to her canon counterpart, she is sweet and kindness personified with a little bit of awkwardness due to the whole trapped in a magical supercomputer for almost a millenia, she's also trans here.

  • Another Dimension: Where planet Popstar is located.

    • Nova/Cure Wishes and Hope/Cure Hopes
  • Back From The Dead: What happens to Hope/Cure Hopes once both the Master Crown and Sectonia are defeated.
  • Atomic F-Bomb: Kira/Cure Sleep usually has a rule against swearing in front of adults, but expect one of this to drop if they're forced to break it.
  • Backstory Horror:
    • Mahora's past can count in parts, not only are your efforts to help save your planet mocked, by your own parents, you are also banished to another dimension, all while your barely five, it's a good thing that he ended up being found by Kira in the end.
    • The fate of most of the Temporal Warriors is definitely this.
