Cindy Campbell
Cindy Campbell
The main protagonist of the first four films.Played by: Anna Faris
- Alliterative Name: Cindy Campbell.
- Ambiguously Bi: Has a boyfriend, and had oral sex with Buffy. But that could have easily been experimentation, given that they swore to never speak of it again.
- Big "NO!": Does this at the end of the first film after discovering Doofy's tools used for his killings and learning he's actually the killer who got away at the end. She's interrupted by a car running over her.
- Brainless Beauty: Looks cute, and despite moments of brilliance is often really dumb.
- Butt-Monkey: In the first two movies. In the later installments, it's her that brings about most of the damage.
- Captain Ersatz:
- Scary Movie: of Sidney Prescott and Julie James
- Scary Movie 2: of Nell Vance
- Scary Movie 3: of Rachel Keller
- Scary Movie 4: of Karen Davis
- Cartwright Curse: A lot of her love interests either die, (Bobby, George) or vanish. (Buddy)
- Dumb Blonde: In the later films, given they're based on blonde protagonists.
- Fan Disservice: The first time she flashed her chest, it was revealed she had chest hair and man-boobs. In the bootleg version of the scene, she has six nipples.
- Final Girl: Averted in the first film, where she's hit by a car.
- Subverted as she somehow survives in the sequel film.
- The Fool: Raises the Genre Blind required by a comedy to ridiculous levels.
- Ms. Fanservice: Often stripped down to revealing clothes. During her sex scene in the first movie, her bra is the only thing not taken off.
- Nice Girl: Cindy is a friendly person.
- Oh, No... Not Again!: A running gag in the third movie when she continuously forgets about her nephew, Cody.
- Say My Name: Parodied in the first film when she calls out Doofy as the killer to the sheriff.
- Sex God: Causes positively explosive and ridiculous large ejaculations from Bobby and Buddy, which results in Bobby literally shriveling from dehydration, and even causes a minor earthquake.
- Shout-Out Theme Naming: Since she is a parody of Sidney Prescott (portrayed by Neve Campbell), her name is Cindy Campbell.
- Slow-Motion Drop: Parodied in the first film when she realizes Doofy is the true killer.
- This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: "Time to go back down the well, bitch!"
- Unexplained Recovery: Gets run over by a car in the first film, but returns in the sequel.
Brenda Meeks
Brenda Meeks
Cindy’s best friend.Played by: Regina Hall
- Advertised Extra: She doesn’t have much screentime in the third film, given that she is killed off relatively early.
- Asshole Victim: In the first film, when her outrageous antics in a movie theater prompt several members of the audience to stab her before the killer does.
- Black Dude Dies First: Averted in the first film. But she does die. Or, at least, seems to die.
- Crying Wolf: In the third movie, she fakes death three times, so when she really is in danger, Cindy won't help her.
- Deuteragonist: Downplayed in the fourth film, as she doesn’t appear onscreen until midway through but is nonetheless a lead character.
- Dropped a Bridge on Him: In Scary Movie 3, although she once more somehow comes back to life.
- Made of Iron: Apparently. Even though she dies in the first and third films (in the latter her body explodes), she comes back to life without explanation. Although in a deleted scene from the second, she says that her presumed death in the original was a "near-death experience."
- Sanity Ball: Holds it in the second movie when Cindy gets chased by a living skeleton, to which Brenda points out that it's, you know, just a skeleton. They then quickly pull the skeleton apart.Brenda: CINDY THIS IS A SKELETON, THIS IS BONES! WOULD YOU RUN FROM CALISTA FLOCKHART?!
- Sassy Black Woman: She plays this trope straight in a comical manner by being sassy to any character no matter if the character is a human or dangerous monster.
- They Killed Kenny Again: She dies in both the first and third movies, only to appear in the next one as if nothing happened.
- Unexplained Recovery: Despite being explicitly killed in the third movie (and having her dead body blown to pieces), Brenda somehow returns in the fourth movie no worse for the wear much to Cindy's surprise.Cindy: I thought you were dead!
