The Hall of Swords and Sabres

Due to the fact that a large portion of deities in the Hall of Bladed Weapons wield swords, it was decided that a hall specifically for them be created. Just like the house they came from, this place is known to be littered with slash marks, and the occasional blade embedded in the walls, floor, or even ceiling.

Fighter McWarrior loves this place for obvious reasons, though his obsession with gluing swords and nunchucks together has given him a bad reputation here.

  • Labelled as the strongest swordsman across the seas, Dracule Mihawk has seemingly proven himself to be one of the most powerful out there pirates even amongst his fellow Seven Warlords of the Sea. His mastery over the blade cannot be understated as even those who have the strength requirements to take on the dangers of the New World still pale in comparison to what power Mihawk has. It comes as no surprise that Mihawk himself ascended to the Pantheon but what is surprising is the numerous delays Mihawk's ascension suffered from. The Court of the Gods claims that it was due to refitting many areas of the Pantheon for Mihawk to enter as they expected that the Warlord would proceed to challenge anybody in his way. They were completely right on that front as when Mihawk ascended, the first thing he asked for was a list of capable swordsmen that he could do battle with. When questioned on his reasons for doing so, Mihawk scoffed at the questions directed at him.
Mihawk: What other justification is there? To see if anyone can match my blade in combat. I wish to assess every deity within this place to see if they are worthy foes in the art of the sword. Those whom I request must specifically use the sword as those who are not experts with it are no challengers in my eyes. I can fight as many strong deities perfectly fine but that one swordsman who can defeat me is who I seek.
  • What makes Mihawk so dangerous is his mastery over Haki, particularly what people refer to as Armament (Busoshoku) Haki. This Haki type covers the immediate possessions of a Haki user in a black armor coating that can be used for defense or be used to impact against other objects. Even those who have their bodies made of elements find themselves equally solid under this Haki's touch. Though Mihawk is well-versed with its sister Haki type, what makes Mihawk so infamous is that very few can escape from his attacks when he attacks with his black sword Yoru to which he can cleave icebergs apart with a single swing. What makes him using Yoru so dangerous as well is that while Yoru is already black—it can disguise if Mihawk was using Haki against his target or not. Those who realize his capabilities conclude that if Mihawk is using his Haki then it means he truly believes that his opponent(s) are worthy enough to go all out while not using it means that his foe is skilled but is not strong enough to compete with him. For the weakest of challengers, Mihawk would use a measly dagger he uses to eat as the weapon. With Mihawk's capabilities, using a fork or a toothpick will likely be an equally dangerous tool for him but he is not willing to shame somebody that far along. For this, he just wanders across the Pantheon and deeming people who can make him go reach that point of him using his Haki on his sword as a Worthy Opponent while everybody else is deemed weak to him.
  • Surprised to find out the student he had been grooming to take his mantle, Roronoa Zoro, was in the Pantheon as he expected Zoro would like to ascend once he challenged and tried to beat Mihawk. Zoro said he had to follow his captain everywhere even if it was to hell itself, something that Mihawk respected. Zoro told Mihawk that he was still not ready to take him but one day, he most definitely would put what he trained to the final test. Speaking of Luffy, even Mihawk was surprised by the Straw Hat quickly becoming so prominent throughout the New World once he returned to the spotlight. He surmised that he must have had an exceptional teacher to be so powerful compared to when he last saw him during the Paramount War. All that Mihawk hopes is that Zoro also proves that he was an exceptional student too. Until then, Mihawk just wanders around with the hopes of finding that person who can fulfill his satisfaction.
  • Shanks greeted Mihawk over a ton of beer that he reserved. A long time ago, Shanks was the only person who was a match for Mihawk—something that is indicative of Mihawk's strength as Shanks became an Emperor of the Sea. However, Mihawk soon lost interest in Shanks after the latter lost his arm and thus becoming very good acquaintances instead. Despite this, Shanks never lost his power even afterward but Mihawk seems to disagree as it means that Shanks cannot wield a sword with both hands—losing the properness of a sword fight. Shanks is just happy to have Mihawk at the Pantheon so that could be buddy-buddy once again. Mihawk does not mind but gets annoyed when he has to drag a drunken Shanks out of a bar. Mihawk was also annoyed when he told him that he tried slicing up his old crewmate Buggy but it was ineffective.
  • During the Paramount War, Mihawk wanted to go after Whitebeard directly but was unable to directly confront the man during that time. Whitebeard may not have been a swordsman, which Mihawk does not care about. Anybody declared the strongest in the world are obvious exceptions to Mihawk's swordsman-exclusive challenge rule. He wanted to challenge Whitebeard again once he found out he was revived within the Pantheon and Whitebeard scoffed over such things, instead of sending out one his his "children", Vista to do battle with Mihawk. Vista and Mihawk duked it out, with Vista being one of the few who could keep up with Mihawk's strength. Mihawk withdrew after a bit, stating he felt dissatisfied with what Vista could do, and told Whitebeard he will come again to fight. Whitebeard agreed, knowing that Mihawk is likely not too full of himself for making such a declaration. If there was anybody the Word Government would send to challenge him, it would either be an Admiral or Mihawk. Speaking of the World Government, now that they disbanded the Warlords—Mihawk finds themselves targeted by those he once called his superiors. Though he did not care for them, he has grown excited by the challenge and welcomes those to arrest him before cutting them down brutally. Mihawk does not have to contend with worrying over anything as he does not have a crew of his own—otherwise, giving himself no stakes to worry over now that he is a wanted man once again.
  • There are very few in the Pantheon who impress him with their swordsmanship, as they rely too much on outside forces to do so or simply are not adept aside from swinging wildly. However, that is not to say there are not people perfectly capable of doing battle with him. The Pantheon is a wide place and though Mihawk has largely been said to be among the most powerful, some also share the "greatest swordsman" title. Particularly, it was two people who wanted the position.
    • One was Jack Rakan who has mastered the blade so well it could cut through any barrier as if it were an even stronger Haki. Another was Miyamoto Musashi who despite not having magic within his arsenal was so skilled with the sword, it could rip dimensions apart if he truly wanted to. All three went to meet with each other, citing that there could only be one "greatest swordsman" within the Pantheon. With that, they drew their blades and proceeded to clash with each other.
    • The battle was so great, even Overdeities within the highest realms felt their threeway duel happen. Mihawk used simple strikes to deflect and attack anything his foes threw at him. Rakan out of respect primarily used his sword but also used his magic to conjure countless blades that sometimes rivaled skyscrapers while enhancing his strength. Musashi was swiftly defending himself by cutting through anything his foes threw at him to the point the attacks looked like they never happened at all. Nobody was able to get close to the three to know what happened aside from their assumed fighting style.
    • When the dust settled and their House laid in ruins, the three were seen within a crater more injured than anybody had ever seen. Whoever stood up first would be declared the winner and strongest swordsman of the Pantheon. Despite their attempts, no person could get up at all. It was then Musashi decided to do something and then vanished in front of the two men. Then arriving at the crater, standing over them was a pink-haired swordswoman who declared her identity... Miyamoto Musashi... as Saber.
    • Musashi cited that in the middle of the fight, her original self drew a summoning circle to her back up in his place if he ever fell in the fight. Being that she was still technically the same person, Musashi declared herself to be the true victor as the two were not able to think of resurrection as the final crunch to their plan. Mihawk and Rakan were gobsmacked at such a clever tactic being right under their noses before laughing their asses off, flustering Musashi who did not think they were taking her seriously. All were carted away and warned that they could not fight with each other ever again within a public space after the MAJOR damage they inflicted upon the Pantheon. Mihawk did not mind as he no longer sees his foes have to prove anything.
  • One would assume that Mihawk and Anton Ego would be an Odd Friendship but upon analyzing their tastes, many would find commonality between them. Mihawk and Ego hold various high standards of eating even if the former lacks table manners. Mihawk even is a rather adept cook. They also really, really, really, really, really, really, really love their wine. They go drink sometimes and have this intimidating aura around them that everybody moves away from. It is too "high-class" for anybody to tolerate.
  • Another person that Mihawk was more than willing to fight as he had been called the "Ultimate Swordsman" at a rather lackluster tournament once in his lifetime. Mihawk had high expectations for Raiden but after their battle, Mihawk sadly said that he was more or less disappointed by the man's performance even if he was fighting at his topmost abilities. Raiden was fast as expected but Mihawk was able to match his speed quite easily. Mihawk then let Raiden try to attack him with his sword but gave a timely block to his weapon—cracking off a portion of his sword. Raiden who was shocked over his opponent's fearsome power was then horrified when Mihawk went onto chop off one of his robotic legs. Raiden was able to dodge the second blow but the nanosecond of struggling allowed Mihawk to directly slash towards Raiden which he tried to parry but it costed his entire sword's blade. Mihawk declared the battle to be over right there and then as it would only be overkill if he continued to do so but Raiden was enraged over being dismissed. He ran up to Mihawk, preparing to strike him with whatever was left of the weapon but Mihawk cut one of Raiden's arms off, then kicked him away to cut off his other leg. Mihawk admired the tenacity of Raiden, even complimenting his embrace for his anger as well as not turning his back to run on him when it became apparent their power greatly outmatches each other.
Mihawk: You remind me of a young man I took to train. You have incredible speed and technique to your abilities but I cannot say you are capable of striking at me with all your might as you truly cannot confer your strength. That alloy body may have let you become something far more powerful but also seems like a limit was place on yourself at the same time. I advise that you gain stronger through yourself rather than lax on your mental body.
  • Mihawk had learned that various people gained better swordsmanship skills artificially via entering a "virtual world". Mihawk called bull on that prospect and decisively bought a console that allows him to connect to virtual reality. When he entered the game world, he found himself without his signature sword and had to attest to a wooden sword that was more of a blunt object alongside looking somewhat different from his look at reality. Mihawk asked around for who was the strongest swordsmen around these lands and players pointed Mihawk to Kirito and Asuna who were conveniently at the town over. Kirito and Asuna were there and being friendly went to accept Mihawk's proposals, thinking he was some old geezer who wanted to prove that "real swordsmanship" cannot compare to the skills computer generates by the way Mihawk spoke on how sad it is people believe their skills within the game transfer to reality where it is not the same. The couple was horrible wrong on Mihawk as he proceeded to decimate them both easily with just a wooden sword he found. Haki being a spiritual power—was transferred to the gaming world and allowed Mihawk to retain his power regardless of level. When he made them both lay on the ground, he acknowledged they did have some skill but were never a match for what he could do. Before Mihawk could leave though, Asuna managed to blurt out Yuki Konno would be more of a match for Mihawk. Mihawk then went across the gaming world to pursue this Yuki Konno they spoke despite it being clear that Yuki Konno was far away. The swordsman could have managed the trip easier by teleporting but denied it. He then found Yuki Konno, the Absolute Sword eating down numerous plates of food instantly. Mihawk then requested a match with her and Yuki entertained the idea even though Kirito and Asuna warned that Mihawk was not kidding around. Of course, Mihawk ended up as the winner again after a well-placed swords strike caused Yuki to be instantaneously killed off but Mihawk was surprised by how well her swordsmanship was—almost as if he was looking at a mirror. Mihawk was shocked once more when he discovered that Yuki managed to bring a cut to his coat—a feat very few can accomplish. When Yuki respawned to confront Mihawk and question if he had some sort of cheat device on. Mihawk told her that Haki may as well be a cheat but even then, she was able to hit him regardless. After being booted off the game for admitting to cheats Mihawk sought to find Yuki Konno in reality to face her. Instead, he found an ill girl on a bed who could not do anything physically taxing without excruciating physical pain be brought to herself. Mihawk acknowledged that within the virtual world, Yuki Konno could bypass the limits placed on herself and that dismissing her skills there might as well be dismissing her skills within reality. He comes back to the virtual world now and again to see Yuki with the hopes of training her much like he trained Zoro.
  • Was VERY disappointed with battling Shirou Emiya at his youth and his future. Mihawk faced the different versions of Arthur (the blue one, the male one, the goth one) and two out of three told him that Shirou was a capable swordsman as well. When Mihawk challenged Shirou Emiya on those pretenses, he expected a capable warrior but Shirou simply did not want to fight with him since he was such a Nice Guy. Mihawk was not having that and attacked Emiya with the hopes of bringing out that fighting spirit. Emiya who saw that his opponent was as powerful as a top-tier Servant decided to activate his trump card: Unlimited Blade Works. Shirou then summoned as many swords as he could at Mihawk to which he was not impressed by. Since this was similar to a technique Rakan could do at whim, Mihawk simply dodged and parried every weapon while going towards Shirou. Before Mihawk could bring down his blade, Unlimited Blade Works ended and all that was left was Shirou exhausted. Mihawk then proceeded to completely lambast Shirou for relying too much on something like magic rather than his strength. Shirou pointed out that his magic is what he is attempting to improve as he would never reach the same skills as Artoria has in his current life. Mihawk stated he would see if Shirou would improve and went to see his future self, EMIYA to see if those improvements Shirou would make amount to anything. While EMIYA embraced more extremist character traits, what future Emiya was capable of doing was just an advanced person what his younger self could do. Mihawk even laughed when EMIYA pulled the same moves that Emiya used and used the same tactics against him but for a longer period. Mihawk did acknowledge that Emiya was a good cook though if that accounts for anything.
  • Sometimes, foes will genuinely surprise Mihawk. After he had defeated the formidable Lady Maria who incorporated her supernatural blood into her swordplay (something Mihawk finds both gross and fascinating), he was told by her that he should face Ludwig the Holy Blade who seems more up his ally. Mihawk agreed and went to fight Ludwig, only to be disappointed when he saw a mindless beast instead. After dealing a few light blows, Mihawk intended on ending the fight right there and then but then Ludwig stopped, stood upright, and looked much more elegant than the monster he was before. Then Mihawk saw a glowing weapon emerge next to Ludwig that not even he detected was there until he picked it up. Mihawk grinned upon realizing that this Ludwig was the swordsman that he was told about. Though Mihawk won their clash as Ludwig is too slow movement compared to his blinding fast speeds, he said that Ludwig was a thrill that rarely happens to him even when facing Pantheon members.
  • One of the few people who were at that sweet spot for Mihawk to be dangerously close in matching him was Abhorash. Abhorash went to Mihawk himself and challenged him to a duel, a flip on what Mihawk usually did with others. He agreed and prepared himself for battle. Abhorash was fast and quick but nothing that he could not handle. However, Abhorash managed to get close enough to Mihawk and cut the side of his neck that was enough to make him bleed a little droplet. Mihawk did not falter because and thought a cowardly trick was being performed against him—until he saw that Abhorash got some blood between his fingers and swallowed some. The Warlord was surprised by the power that emanated from Abhorash, realizing that what he was sensing was Haki. Abhorash then proceeded to go clash with Mihawk again but this time with much more perseverance than previously shown. Mihawk soon realized that Abhorash was using Haki, with his dodges and pressuring of his strikes. The Warlord soon realized that Abhorash must have drunk his blood with the hopes of giving himself the power that Mihawk has, thus learning Haki as a result despite it being a mental and spiritual ability. However, Abhorash still was getting used to Haki's powers by the way he sometimes clumsily stumbled which Mihawk took advantage of. When Abhorash stumbled first, one well-placed strike to him caused the vampire to be split in half brutally. Mihawk did not know of Abhorash having regenerative abilities, so he had thought the battle was over until Abhorash attempted to strike Mihawk from behind. Of course, Mihawk dodged it and stopped Abhorash further by decapitating him with a knife.
Mihawk: I do not take kindly to those who attempt to inflict coward's wounds at their honorable opponents. I suggest you hone the skills you have learned from me so that we may rematch. I may not be able to grow my limbs back like yourself but I hold even greater power than you can fathom. That being a swordsman's honor.
  • He was interested in the Jedi and Sith as their spiritual abilities lend themselves incredibly well to their swordplay—sensing the world around him and using precise strikes instead of flinging wildly. Mihawk once interrupted a meeting between the Jedi and felt the skills of a particular few who went to fight him. Both Obi-Wan and Luke Skywalker shared similar fighting styles though the differences given were distinct. Yoda was swift and even more agile than the others, and though Mihawk knows that Yoda's height was a disadvantage—the Jedi Master used that to his advantage against his much taller foe. Lastly was Ahsoka Tano who struck that perfect balance of acrobatics and pressure with he Dual Wielding which Mihawk found as a good change of pace. He left upon being called out for interrupting a meeting by Luke, as he does not want to seem dishonorable by catching people unprepared. Anakin Skywalker had a lot of power behind himself but whatever swiftness he had faded away in his time as Vader, with Mihawk breaking his defenses rather easily no matter how much the Force tried pushing him away. When it came to the Sith, Mihawk found a good chunk of them having a lack of conduct when it came to swordplay. Palpatine tried intermixing lighting with his strikes, something that Mihawk disproved of very much since it was not true swordplay in his eyes, which is strange as Palpatine showed more prowess with the lightsaber than even the other Jedi he fought. Palpatine quickly paid for it with Mihawk striking through him while using Force lightning. Maul was a much nicer opponent than expected but had that lack of caution that caused his swift defeat. However, one Sith that Mihawk refused to fight when he assessed him was Darth Nihlus who Mihawk sensed was not only willing to use underhanded tactics against him but also does not understand the concept of fair play. Along those lines, he could sense if he were to mess up even once—what power Nihlus could gain from Mihawk would make him indestructible as a combatant. He was not taking those chances and left without a word.
  • When regarding Keyblade wielders, Mihawk almost did not challenge them due to thinking that they relied on them more as wands than actual blades. Sora and Mickey Mouse used more magic than swordsmanship which Mihawk found disappointing. However, when he readied his fight against Riku, Mihawk realized that Riku took his challenge of a duel seriously and respectfully did not use magic during their fight. Though he was only recently christened a Keyblade Master, Riku was able to take on Mihawk for quite a while until Mihawk decided to unleash his true power and completely decimated Riku. With that, Mihawk thanked him for the fight and left the defeated with a rather good compliment. The Seekers of Darkness observed the fight and are interested in having Mihawk join their side but do not know how to without setting the man after them.
  • Mihawk was able to wield Soul Calibur without many drawbacks much to the horror of everybody who saw him. It can be argued the power he gained from using it made him nearly an Overdeity if not full-blown already. However, Mihawk then returned the sacred weapon. He cited that he does not want to draw from another source's strength and if anything, being so powerful only hampers his chances to find his defeater. Elysium who is the personality of Soul Calibur was incredibly offended by this and wants Mihawk to acknowledge how powerful it is like an angry girlfriend tossed at the wayside (which would amuse Mihawk if he knew those sentiments).
  • One of the few weapons that Mihawk was unable to damage with his weapon (aside from Jack's sword forged by deities) was Master Sword. Its owner, Link was a capable fighter but hardly someone who does not have the truly dangerous techniques worthy of one-on-one swordplay. Due to this, Mihawk wanted to see if Link would allow him to bash to the ever-living lights of his sword to see its durability. Link refused considering that his sword is alive but Mihawk went onto the offense. Link used his sword to defend himself after Mihawk cut through the Hylian Shield. Little by little, Master Sword has whittled away and returned to when it appeared at its weakest—something Link was shocked that not even his weapon could stand against such might. However, the whittling stopped once Mihawk brought it down looking chipped—as Mihawk knew that he could not shatter it no matter what he did. He told Link that he had a fine sword and to use it to its greatest capabilities.
  • Many have expressed interest in obtaining Yoru, Mihawk's primary sword due to its infamy with association with him. Prohyas and Vambre Warrior offered a bunch of swords in exchange for Yoru. Mihawk surprisingly agreed to trade and the two were given the ginormous sword for most of their "lesser" weapons. They soon came to regret it as though the weapon was quite pretty to look at, it was just an ordinary sword without Mihawk empowering it with Haki. Meanwhile, Mihawk looked completely awesome with the swords they have given him as it is his skill that gives it its uniqueness. They got swords back quickly and swore never to take them for granted again, keeping ties with Mihawk since they will look bad if they disregard him for something that was their fault. Some like Matt of the Epic Battle Fantasy party was so frustrated over not being to collect Mihawk, he challenged Mihawk for it. Mihawk was surprised by the youth being a stronger swordsman than he initially looked but decided to braced himself regardless. It may have been his drive to keep his sword that did it but Matt was defeated after a grueling fight. The Warlord welcomed Matt to go after his blade once again much to his humiliation.
  • Brought Killer B to an existential crisis when Mihawk beat him easily at a perfectly fair duel. The ninja had always thought him the best when fighting against others but Mihawk putting a near end to him gave the ninja perspective, unlike anything he ever felt. B was seen drinking his shame away at a bar then he could be seen trying to get stronger. But then Killer B started to drink again and felt like all of his skills amounted to nothing. Mihawk had to show up again at the request of Killer B's friends over this and simply told him to man up for their next rematch—something B was devastated yet hopeful to hear. He knows trains to become better than the one who beat him every day with a vigor that had never been felt since his youth.
  • Was held back from fighting against Kazuma Kenzaki who Mihawk believed to be a great challenge considering his namesake. The fight itself was rather brief with Kenzaki entering King Form first upon sensing that Mihawk would not be playing around for his first attack. Mihawk tore through whatever King Form threw at him, reverting Kenzaki to his original form. Pushed like never before, Kenzaki's Undead instincts kicked in and he transformed to the Joker Undead. Since as of this writing, Kenzaki was the only Undead in the Pantheon—the world around them shook and reality was falling apart. Kenzaki has fortunately regained his humanity but Mihawk wanted to push Kenzaki to maintain the Undead form for a better challenge, even if it means the destruction of the world. So many of Mihawk's old foes had to go fight him off just to get Kenzaki away, which Mihawk was disappointed over. He hopes to fight Kenzaki again at that strength but for the better of the Pantheon, that will be a long time from now.

"The strongest black blade and the swordsmanship... This is why I am the swordsman with no peer."

  • Enemies: Shinobu Sensui, Volgin
  • Opposes: Vergil Sparda, Raven Branwen
  • The second-toughest kid and self-proclaimed punk at Sarayashiki Junior High School, Kazuma Kuwabara first met Yusuke Urameshi when he challenged him to a fight in order to usurp his position as the toughest. Although he lost, Kuwabara remained unperturbed and always returned to try again, becoming Yusuke's perpetual opponent and rival. Although regarded as a delinquent, Kuwabara has an iron clad code of honor. After Yusuke became a Spirit Detective, Kuwabara frequently accompanied him on his cases. Ultimately, Kuwabara mostly retired from fighting after realizing that Yusuke had far surpassed him in terms of strength and power, and eventually got into a prestigious university through sheer study and hard work.
  • While looking for his friends, Kuwabara entered the pantheon by appearing through a portal that he had created with his Dimension Sword. Impressed, the gods quickly discovered that his Dimension Sword could apparently cut through anything and they granted Kuwabara the title of God of Almighty Swords.
  • Kuwabara was quite happy to be reunited with his friends and was quick to challenge Yusuke to a fight. While Kurama gave him a friendly greeting, Hiei mocked him for being the last member of the team to ascend, much to Kuwabara's annoyance. However, he was also quite alarmed to learn that Younger Toguro and Shinobu Sensui were also present in the pantheon, although his Dimension Sword fortunately makes both of them unlikely to actively seek out a fight with him.
  • Kuwabara quickly became friends with Okuyasu Nijimura, who is very similar to him. Through Okuyasu, Kuwabara also met and befriended Josuke Higashikata. Both Okuyasu and Josuke were surprised to learn that Kuwabara's high Spirit Awareness allowed him to see their stands, although he wasn't able to injure them. The three are often seen hanging out and training together.
  • Kuwabara has also become friends with Batsu Ichimonji and Roy Bromwell. Kuwabara likes Batsu not only due to his resemblance to Yusuke, but also because of his similar devotion to friendship. He was initially dismayed to learn of Roy's former hatred of the Japanese, but was very happy to learn that he had gotten over it. Kuwabara has remained on friendly terms with both ever since.
  • He also befriended Krillin and Yamcha, who were both similarly surpassed by their non-human rivals. The three of them occasionally meet up to train together in order to get stronger.
  • Kuwabara's ability to summon and wield the Spirit Sword and Dimension Sword has drawn the attention of numerous swordwielders both in and outside of the House of Swords. Finn the Human compared the Dimension Sword to the 4-D Sword he once temporarily had. Luke Skywalker made note of the strong resemblance between his lightsaber and Kuwara's Spirit Sword, remarking that they both even make the same sound. Miyamoto Musashi was interested in seeing his power up close and challenged Kuwabara to duel. Although Kuwabara lost, Musashi aknowledged the immense power of his sword and offered to train him into becoming a proper swordsman, which Kuwabara accepted.
  • Kuwabara became enemies with Colonel Volgin after running into him. He not only dislikes him for being a torturer and a sadist, but also because he finds it extremely creepy that Volgin keeps chanting his name.
  • Kuwabara was surprised to learn of how Vergil Sparda and Raven Branwen possessed a similar ability to create portals with their swords and sought them out to see what they were like. However, upon learning of how they both were absentee parents and believe in a Might Makes Right philosophy, he quickly came to oppose them. Of the two, Kuwabara has a grudging respect for Vergil due to his code of honor and the fact that he was only absent from Nero's life due to not knowing of his existence. On the other hand, he outright dislikes Raven for deliberately abandoning her daughter and continuing to be a self-absorbed coward and hypocrite. In general, neither of them thinks particularly highly of him and they prefer to avoid him.

  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Genma-slaying, Awkward Movement Scheme, More Badass and Romanticized Than His Original Self, Dying and Being Resurrected as a Badass Early In His Tale, Samurai, Ninja, Oni Form, Looking Like Takeshi Kaneshiro, Being Spat Out From Hell

  • Allies: Akechi Mitsuhide, Sanada Yukimura, Dante Sparda, Amaterasu, Gracia, Chris & Claire Redfield, Leon Scott Kennedy
  • Enemies: Fortinbras, Demonic Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Shang Tsung
  • Really Awkward Relationship: 'Normal' Oda Nobunaga
  • Usually called Samanosuke, at first he was just known as a relative of Akechi Mitsuhide that stayed with him to the bitter end. But for some reason, he was attacked by a group of demons called the Genma, died, and resurrected by the Oni to become their champion, Onimusha, and set out to defeat the rampant villainized figures of the Sengoku Period thanks to Fortinbras. All while wielding weapons of many elements that shone in bright color depending on the element. He possessed that many variety, which became the reason of his ascension.
  • On his ascension, he was quite surprised with the changes of some figures he knew in life. For instance, the Oda Nobunaga he defeated seemed to also existed in different form, but there's another Nobunaga that looked more chill, calculating and a bit more subdued in his 'demon king image'... but overall not that much of an Evil Overlord that he knew of. This much culture shock took quite long enough for Samanosuke to get used to.
    • Of course, he also just had to get used to how his father Mitsuhide tends to suffer Split Personality in which his bad self could get as bad as the Genma themselves...
    • At least he's glad to meet the sister he rarely visited in life, Gracia. And he'll gladly tell that in his verse, Gracia turned out normally.
    • He expected that Toyotomi Hideyoshi would be a scrawny bootlicking screwball, but was shocked when he saw that Hideyoshi was instead a giant of a man... and a lot more capable to giving him a severe beatdown. While Samanosuke managed to stand his ground, he's quite surprised with this particular change.
    • He is considered a most Worthy Opponent and great rival in combat by Sanada Yukimura, one of the people that burns his warrior spirit.
  • Fortinbras was absolutely furious that the Red Onimusha himself has entered the Pantheon. Samanosuke has learned a few things from one of his high priests that he personally accompanied, Soki, and considered that he beat Fortinbras once... he can do so again. And also borrows one of the phrases from Soki himself, stating that Fortinbras is just very single-minded and can't even understand anything other than 'evil'... not being a God that should be bowed to, but just a 'piece of shit' (He'd say it in a softer manner, he's not that foul-mouthed)
  • Samanosuke was quite surprised to see Amaterasu. As far as he learned from his verse, it was Fortinbras who sired mankind, only as a Slave Race and food race for the Genma. To see Amaterasu being the protector of mankind that was abhorred with how Fortinbras acts made Samanosuke swear fealty on her and promised to aid her in case his hunch comes true that Fortinbras is planning to make his verse's history override Japan's overall.
  • His demon/Genma-slaying achievements caught the attention of the demon-slayer Dante Sparda, who likes to sometimes butt and join in Samanosuke's Genma-slaying activities. Samanosuke appreciates and respects his combat skills, but sometimes felt a bit overwhelmed when Dante decides to get a bit chatty. Also Dante stated that his weapons are pretty shiny.

  • Allies: Yoruichi Shihouin, Ichigo Kurosaki, Orihime Inoue, Kakashi Hatake, Roy Mustang, Aikuro Mikisugi
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With most of the members of the Gotei 13
  • Enemies: Embryo, Yuuki Terumi
  • Worthy Opponents mostly one-sided: Light Yagami, Xanatos, Petyr, Kane (C & C)
  • He was invited by his colleague, Yoruichi. Of course she told him that he had to find a way in. He had no problem and quickly found a way in. After his ascension he tried to touch Yoruichi's butt again and was immediately kicked in the head.
  • He often makes plans with some of his fellow members intellectual members of the pantheon such as Batman, Shiroe and, Shikamaru. Unfortunately for the other alliances, this tends to work very badly in their favor.
  • His Zanpakuto is very versatile from Sword Beams, to Deflector Shields, to creating powerful bindings.
    • His Bankai is vastly different as it allows him to heal or rip apart his opponents or the environments like a surgeon.
  • He has plans to further enhance the house of combat.
  • People hate going to him when they need to mass teleport, as they wind up freefalling.
  • He often finds himself in various gambits versus his fellow Chessmasters, such as Petyr, Xanathos, Kane (command & conquer).
  • On top of his combat skills and strategic mind, he is also a genius scientist and inventor, creating objects such as gigai, which allows the ethereal to interact with the living world, a Cloak that allows the wearer to totally mask their presence, and other items. Sometimes, however, his items don't work out very well or were just prank items, which has prompted responses of the users such as: "'Amazing Armor of Justice', my ass! More like Armor of Junk!"
  • He has a habit of writing messages in red paint, such as:
"Please meet at the Urahara Shop immediately".
"P.S. If you think this message looks like something out of a horror movie, you have no sense of humor."
    • This really tends to annoy the gods who are a part of law enforcement.

    Knight Artorias
Artorias, Fallen Wielder of Worn Out Divine Swords (Knight Artorias, the Abysswalker, Artorias of the Abyss, The Wolf Knight of Farron, Wolf Blood Master, R2orias)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/300px-artorias_render_3612.png
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: The Greatsword of Artorias (shared with Sif)
  • Leitmotif: Knight Artorias
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (arguably Chaotic Evil upon being consumed by the Abyss)
  • Portfolio: A once proud knight of Gwyn corrupted by the abyss, turned into a frenzied husk, has a limp left arm yet is able to fight with ferocity, moves fast with a chunk of armor, killed by the Chosen Undead to spare him, honored by others in history
  • Domains: Knighthood, Honor, Darkness, Berserkers, the Abyss
  • Heralds: The Forest Hunters covenant, Hawkeye Gough and Lord's Blade Ciaran (shared with Ornstein and Smough)
  • Allies:
  • Additional Relationships: The Chosen Undead, the Abyss Watchers (proclaimed successors), Executioner Smough
  • Commonality Connection: Slave Knight Gael
  • Enemies:
  • Opposed by: Velvet Crowe, the Soul of Cinder
  • Pitied by: King Arthur
  • In the past history or Lordran, there was a tale of the town known as Oolacile which was besieged by the horrors of the Abyss, corrupting the denizens to unspeakable horrors. When a princess was kidnapped, a loyal Knight of Gwyn was tasked to save her and the town from further destruction, however the legend stated nothing beyond that. This knight, named Artorias, was spoken only in legend as it has been in the past, however by some miracle or change in time, a Chosen Undead discovered a portal that transported them into the past, witnessing the events unfold and finally seeing the legendary knight, albeit in a very corrupt state that the legend never told. Frenzied beyond recognition, what remained of Artorias was the armor and his sword as his original self was destroyed by Manus. In the end, he was killed by the Chosen Undead, to finally end his misery.
    • Years passed, and Artorias' legacy would expand to honor him. First was the Forest Hunters covenant, who would protect the grave of their fallen hero, with his wolf companion Sif guarding the center of it, second his sword would transfer from kingdom to kingdom, eventually finding its way to both Drangleic and Lothric, and third, he would be the main source of inspiration to the Undead Legion of Farron, more specifically, the Abyss Watchers, 'successors' to the Wolf Knight of Farron. As a result, his fate may have been tragic but his legacy has lived on. His greatsword in particular, once known for able to slay Darkwraiths with ease, slowly decrepit in its function.
  • First sighting of him in the Pantheon was discovered by Gwyn and The Maiden in Black in a completely unstable state, recklessly and relentlessly charging at them, howling and screaming like a maddened beast. Realizing how deep the corruption has gone through to one of his knights, Gwyn ordered him to be sealed while the Maiden would create a solution to patch him up. Sadly, the solution wound up for too long and both Gwyn and the Maiden's presence dwindled, such as the past of the Pantheon. Years go by and it seems the rediscovery of the Nexus reawakened the Maiden, with Gwyn returning back to his kingdom. A solution would be found, but only for the place where they resided.
    • Be it through sorcery or some form of witchcraft, she was able to find a way to bring him back to a more stable level and return him to his senses. It did work but the Abyss within him ravaged his body to the point he can neither live without it nor even remove his armor and his conscious remains has left him blaming himself for his situation. Artorias' armor now serves less to protect whatever remains of the knight than as a restraint and prison for the monster within him. While the Pantheon has given Artorias some reprieve, being almost entirely corrupted by the Abyss has made sure that he can never return to his normal self and can lose himself to it if pushed too far. While his faith and powerful resolve can allow him a measure of calm, the dark presence within him shall never fade. This also affected his mighty Greatsword, as it has become severely worn out, with parts of the hilt missing and the blade covered in black slime. Like its wielder, it can be cleansed for brief periods before the Dark again corrupts it.
  • Following the Knight's return, he was able to recognize a few commoners of the same plane. Beyond his Lord, Gwyn and his companion Sif, he also saw a fellow Knight of Gwyn within the reach, Dragonslayer Ornstein and was glad to see him, less so to his working partner, Executioner Smough who has quite an appetite for a cannibal, however the knight may not realize that the Ornstein guarding Anor Londo may be a fake and the real one was out to look for his teacher. In addition, he has no hard feelings for the Chosen Undead, seeing that all he did was sparing him from the damage done to him back on Oolacile. Past that, he nearly returned back to his primitive state upon the rediscovery of Manus, nearly costing the knight what little sanity he had left. In addition, Manus' Children also roam around the Pantheons, seeing that the Abyss has gotten stronger overtime, made worse with a knight that bears similarity to Artorias in the form of Nadalia's herald, Raime the Fume Knight, who he has a beef with.
    • To compensate for Gwyn's Knights, both Ciaran and Gough were given permission to be Artorias' heralds, thus the Four Knights of Gwyn are somewhat accomplished. In addition to such, news of Smough's dedication and eventual knighthood came t a price. While the remaining Anor Londo Knights left, he remained under Gwyndolin's royalty and fought against the forces of Aldritch, in his failed, yet valiant defense of Anor Londo. He does not appreciate the Executioner's eating habits but such news made him warm up on him. Unfortunately, the knight is unaware of the new revelations regarding Lord Gwyn and the God's rule over the Age of Fire, some ponder that by sharing these may ruin whatever sanity is there left of him, hence why they have not divulged any information.
    • His relationship with his self-proclaimed successors, the Abyss Watchers varies but it is mostly in a rocky place. For one, he appreciates the Watchers' dedication to vanquishing the Abyss just like him, but anything beyond that is filled with irony. The moveset of the Watchers replicate Artorias' moveset after he was corrupted by the Abyss, not while he was sane, them kicking out Hawkwood the Deserter, who used a shield just like him pre-corruption and eventually themselves turning on each other into an Abyss Watcher civil war left a rather mixed reception on him, though he blames himself for leaving that mark in the first place. However, with the strength of the Abyss growing stronger, they will have to do. On the very same universe, Artorias' form would never be accepted and despite Gwyn's efforts, the Soul of Cinder has no remorse for anyone with a single taint of the Abyss, including one of his own Four Knights.
  • Beyond those that lived on the same realm as him, Artorias bears certain similarities with a few other knights, the most obvious being Guts. Being berserkers imbued with darkness, fondness of wolves, wielders of big swords meant to kill ethereal beings and a portion of his stance similar to him, Guts has seen him to be a brother of sorts, his party were frightened at first mainly because of his size but accepted him into their ranks. Their fear mainly came under the first impression of another knightly being, Ludwig, to have approached the group in a similar fashion. Another similar being was also seen by him but with caution. Guts was told to hold Artorias off due to his presence. A certain slave knight approached him and saw a few key similarities with the Abysswalker, be it fighting styles and cause of corruption, but his presence is dangerous to Artorias' sanity as it harbors the same threat as Manus, that being the Dark Soul of Man. He has told him not to worry as he has no intention for power, rather to use his blood as pigment for a painting.
  • The knight was soon called for aid upon the discovery that Manus would be awakened by a king who was deemed a threat under Gwyn, that being his rival King Allant. The king hopes to bring Manus back into recovery to accelerate the Deep Fog's effects with the Abyss and bring everyone into the brink of death. As a result from Gwyn calling his knights, he has sworn to defeat the king and any subject who aligns with him, one of which could arguably be called a precursor to Artorias, being the Penetrator Metas. Griffith has also taken attention of Artorias' situation and seeing that he and Guts have sided together, could be collaborating with the King to possibly use the Abyss within the knight's armor to return him back to his original state, a result that may affect Guts' side.
    • On the subject of kings, even beyond the knights who fight battles, some have seen Artorias' condition and have found it to be very depressing, which was the case with Sir Arthur. The King's observation on the poor knight has left him with despair, seeing that the Abyss can corrupt even the most loyal and heroic of knights into shambling monstrosities, as he can imagine the same fate would befell if he were to go through the same footing. While similar in name, they are not equals as Artorias is and was a knight first and foremost compared to Arthur, who became a knight, then a king after, but that has not deterred the latter's pity for the Wolf Knight.
  • One similar predicament Velvet Crowe found herself in is the Malevolence within her, which has some similarities to the Abyss, both of which are also born from humans. During her initial entrance to the Pantheon, she immediately struck the Wolf Knight thinking that he was her nemesis, Artorius, except his name only bear similarity except one vowel, Artorias. She apologized but still drew her sword as her attacking him awakened a bit of the Abyss in him and rampaged all over the place. The fight was broken down, following her consuming a bit of the Abyss within his greatsword but has left without saying a word. On his side however, he bears great opposition towards her as the power inside her bears similarities to the corruption in him and as shown, may destroy his sanity yet again.
  • The wolf knight's sword, the Greatsword of Artorias has been a sight for such a holy weapon to be tainted by the Abyss, since for all the wear it has, it remains a great weapon against any dark being, especially Darkwraiths. The unholiness of it however means that any corrupter can see that the wielder is susceptible to such, thus making him a prime target. This was shown with Soul Caliber and Nightmare, twin living swords that scanned his might sword and found great corruption within. Nightmare wants a piece of the Abyss, especially since the Abyss has great connection with the original humans, Soul Caliber on the other hand wants to eradicate him and any trace of the Abyss by any means necessary, with the knight being considered a host.
  • With the news of Artorias' case, many knights have grown wary to Manus, seeing that the a single taint of the Abyss can destroy someone, however debates exist on how Artorias lost to him, some hint that Artorias' lack of humanity was the reason for his state while others believe that being a catalyst for dark sorceries made it difficult to defeat him. Whatever the case was, the damage has been done and many knights have made distances to avoid the same fate. Some have even volunteered to kill him off for good, as shown with Saber Alter but all she did was make the situation worse as her confrontations with the Abysswalker only resulted with more damaged property to the point that she was barred entry to avoid more confrontations. Moreover, his color has made him confused for a black knight, and since the term "Black Knight" is synonymous with numerous subjects, some have confused him with such.

  • On speaking terms with: Kage
  • Complicated Relationship: Ragna the Bloodedge
  • Conflicting Opinions: ARIA, Yubel, the Four Guardians
  • Ascended as part of a retaliatory strike against Kokonoe's ascension by Terumi and Relius. The day she arrived in the Pantheon, her voice resounded throughout as follows: "Loading... loading... loading... loading... Complete."
    • Upon hearing this, Ragna immediately burst off running for the darkest area of the Pantheon he could think of. Eyewitnesses report that his facial expression was similar to when he encountered the Ghost Lady.
  • Her goal is to become one with Ragna, form the Black Beast, and cause The End of the Pantheon As We Know It, because she hates everything in existence except for Ragna.
    • She still holds some respect for Yuno Gasai, having served her before in the House of Emotion. Yuno herself is encouraging every bit of her Yandere acts for Ragna.
  • Has some competition with Sakuya Izayoi and Gilgamesh, due to their similar fighting styles.
  • Anyone who gets in the way of HER Ragna faces the wrath of her ultimate technique - hug.exe. Don't let the name fool you, it is not a pleasant experience. Just ask Ragna.
  • On some occasions, presumably while she's running in Safe Mode, her personality strangely becomes that of a Valley Girl who talks like a pirate.
  • Really wants to stay away from Vegeta due to his reputation to make machines experience fear beyond programming.
  • Has a strange relationship with Lambda. While she feels a sense of kinship around the older Murakumo, which might have something to do with her soul having at one point been inside her, she still hates her with a passion due to Ragna being more comfortable around her than herself.
  • When news has it that she was 'responsible' of the dark fate that befell Ragna, it made the majority of Pantheon look at Nu in anger and vengeance. Nu's response was a mere thought that the whole Pantheon is against her relationship which made her declare that the whole Pantheon can just get stabbed to death for getting in her way with Ragna.
  • A bit annoyed that someone who pilots a mobile suit that resembles her is a total tree-hugging naive pacifist moron (in her opinion). She thinks that if she piloted the AGE-FX, she'd probably shred all the Vagans in one sitting, and Flit would approve.
  • After gaining emotions by synchronizing with Noel, she has found out that there is only one thing she feels; pure hatred. Hatred so strong that after Ragna "rejected" her, she started to hate everything, including Ragna and wants everything to die. She was ultimately subdued from her rampage and severely depowered. When people demanded that she pays for everything she's done, Noel stepped in and offered to 'rehabilitate' her instead. One can wonder if she can one day succeed obliterating Nu's dangerous Yandere factor out of her.
    • After a long absence due to her catatonic state in the mortal plane, Nu returned to the Pantheon as a much saner indiviual then she had been prior. Thanks to Noel's succesful 'rehabilitation', Nu appears to have been made a full recovery and now peacefully lives with her sisters.
  • In an effort to discard her past, Nu now goes by "XIII" and has mostly abandoned her old Nox Nyctores in favor of only wielding one blade like a tranditional sword. She is a frequent visitor of the House of Time and Temporality although many of it's occupants are wary of her due to her past history.
  • When questioned on if the tattered red coat she now wears was that of Ragna's, She refused to comment on the matter.
  • In regards to some of the people she had once wronged as Nu-13:
    • Jin tolerates her presence for Noel's sake but has not forgiven her actions.
    • XIII dislikes speaking with "Rabbit" (Rachel) but is willing to work with her whenever the situation calls for it. Though every now and again XIII mumbles to herself that she's "not as nice as the other Alucard".
    • XIII and Kokonoe already seemed to be familiar with each other's situations due to some sort of incident involving Phantom Fields so cooperation between the two ended up being much smoother.
    • Hakumen still hates her with a burning passion for nearly getting Tsubaki killed (and succeeding in doing so in a previous timeline), XIII can't really blame him as she isn't too fond of "Nu-13" either.
    • As for Ragna, she chooses to avoid him until she's fully sorted out her issues under the fear she may relapse into her old Yandere self upon laying eyes on him.
  • When many heard of Kage's obssession with becoming one with Ryu, many compared him to Nu-13 and her desire to be one with Ragna, which could cause The End of the World as We Know It. Oddly enough, the demon and the murakumo unit do get along fine provided neither gets in the way of the other and have sparred a few times, although Nu has warned him to stay away from Ragna or else she would have to kill him. This is more strained when Nu reformed into the more mentally stable XIII, trying to discard her past.
  • Initially, Izanami-no-Mikoto didn’t like Nu-13; her opinion towards Nu is more expressed in pity rather than hatred since they are both trapped in a dimension and the person they love rejected them, leading them to hate humanity. Aside from being interested that she is called the “Sword of Izanami” because of the similarities, she's relieved to an extent that Nu (now going by XIII) has redeemed herself.

  • Pities: Atalanta
  • Confused For Mithra (Shinza Bansho series), and Mithra
  • Related to everyone.
    • Rex was once a simple salvager who lived with "Gramps" in the world of Alrest. Taking on a new mission to salvage something very special, his world changed once he came across the girl sleeping who was named Pyra. She wanted him to make a connection that would make them essentially partners that involved him touching her chest...or rather her Core Crystal to awakening this power. After being revived, both of them formed a bond as Driver and Blade to overcome the obstacles standing in the way of taking Pyra back to Elysium.
    • Despite being made from the same blade Pyra and Mythra are two distinct personalities who eventually gain their own bodies after the defeat of Malos. The reason this happened was back in the past after Mythra survived the fall of Torna along with the death of Hugo. She couldn't bear such pain not to mention getting the chance to have the kindness and humanity she didn't show towards others back then.
    • Rex and Pyra were shocked to find Malos already waiting for them in the Pantheon with that same grin on his face he had when they first battle each other. Mythra, in particular, was furious to learn of his ascension having already faced the other part of the Aegis several years in the past.
    • When the fifth Super Smash Bros tournament was announced, Rex had high hopes that he and Pyra (and maybe Mythra) would be invited. Alas, they were not. When Master Hand and Crazy Hand announced they would be inviting five new challengers to join, Rex's hopes were raised once again... and promptly dashed when the five latecomers came and went. When the Hands then announced six more new challengers would be chosen, Rex was skeptical as he didn't want to be disappointed again. Then, one day, Pyra and Mythra suddenly disappeared. Rex searched all over the Pantheon for them before finally finding Pyra training on Final Destination. Recognising what it meant, he started to get excited as Pyra confirmed... that she and Mythra had been invited to join the tournament without Rex. While he was happy for them, he couldn't help but feel the Hands were actively making fun of him now. Fortunately they offered him the chance to appear in Smash as Pyra and Mythra's partner during their Final Smashes. Rex decided to accept, grateful for the chance to be in Smash in any capacity. Chrom has given the young salavger a comforting shoulder and words of encouragement, as he was once in Rex's position before becoming a Fighter. Meanwhile, Pyra and Mythra are excited to show the fighters of Smash what the legendary Aegis can really do.
  • Deities who have the ability to glimpse in the future have recently gotten visions of Rex growing quite tall and into a hunk while standing behind Pyra, Mythra and their companion Nia as they hold babies. The sheer shock and implications of this image alone have prevented these deities from commenting on it to the trio, though they certainly can't keep their curiosity on their developments a secret, unable to look at them with a straight face based on what might be to come.
  • Exclusive to Rex
    • Rex was not a complicated fellow, his only life before meeting Pyra was living on Gramps, collecting anything worth salvaging, and practicing his sword skills ready to engage a bigger world someday. He also doesn't like it when people consider him to some little kid when he knows he's a lot more mature than people think. When asked how close he was to Pyra and Mythra, his face grew red before admitting that if there was any girl he loved the most it would be her.
    • Despite never getting to chance to meet one another Rex and Pyra became friends with Lora, her tale was something Mythra knew considering she was there in Torna many years ago. Lora was thrilled to see her again wanting to learn more from the woman who saved her life and provided the inspiration for her journey while Rex was glad to meet someone kinda like himself.
    • Rex has the ability to summon other Blades into battle alongside Pyra and Mythra such as Shulk himself, so when the robotic girl named KOS-MOS saw the duo greet her like they met before she was confused at first when she mentioned that she wasn't the same KOS-MOS they found alongside in their world. Regardless, she was quick to befriend Pyra and Mythra in order to have a better grasp on emotions that blades like themselves use in casual conversation.
    • Natsu grew to love hanging around Rex, since they both were huge believers in friendship and comradery with mostly everyone. Pyra merely laughed at Rex and Natsu trying to one-up each other in a friendly game of salvaging in the Pantheon.
    • Link admired the courage Rex displays along with his skills with a sword. After seeing him in the Champion's outfit, the two got along like they were brothers.
    • Feeling awful about what the Red Archer servant has been through before her ascension, the catgirl brought to Rex's attention reminded him a lot of Nia. She had somewhat of a similar attitude with how some of her replies could be dripping with sass much like his friend who also was part-human and part-feline.
  • Exclusive to Pyra
    • Pyra/Mythra being the Aegis are vital components of the Architect's work who is in fact the benevolent half of Zanza. After giving life to the world of Alrest, the Titans, the Aegis along with Malos, and other forms of life were meant to serve as his atonement for the crimes he's committed in his old world. Rex and Pyra had learned the intentions of Klaus even feeling sad that he was now gone, but Zanza still refused to budge on his viewpoint about the world and humans making it clear he was still their enemy.
    • Pyra keeps to her namesake by mainly utilizing fire instead of light giving her an edge when it comes to cooking in a kitchen, but it also provides a warm fire at night along with heat in cold places that Rex along with his other companions appreciated during their journey.
    • Shulk wasn't sure how Rex or Pyra would feel upon meeting him considering he was Zanza for a brief period of time however, the both of them didn't see him as some almighty deity or wielder of the Monado but merely as a fellow warrior of the people, and Pyra wanted to cook a nice dinner for everyone.
    • After talking with Dunban, a fellow and personal friend of Shulk her mind couldn't help but think back to Mòrag who was once an enemy who eventually joined their cause of reaching Elysium. Dunban hoped to meet the driver of the Mor Ardain empire one day for a friendly duel between warriors.
    • Fi was surprised to learn how animated Pyra was in terms of emotions, She hoped to learn how to express herself indicating it would have an 89% chance of befriending new deities in the pantheon.

    Samuel Rodrigues
Samuel Rodrigues, God of Katanas (Jetstream Sam, Minuano, Markiplier, Internet Connoisseur, The Weakest Brazilian Male, Wham Bam Slam Sam, Samurai Jack-Off)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jetstream_sam_2.png
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: His high-frequency Murasama.
  • Theme Music: The Only Thing I Know For Real
  • Alignment: True Neutral/Neutral Good in his pre-Desperado days
  • Portfolio: Brazilian Samurai, Katanas Which Have Been Upgraded for the Modern Age, Being Descended from a Family of Brazilian Katana Masters, Worthy Opponent, Living Only for Fighting, Being Badass Simply By Being DAMN GOOD With a Katana, Too Cool to Live
  • Followers: Katana Man
  • Allies: Bladewolf, Archer, Zero, Samurai Jack, Deadpool, Heishiro Mitsurugi, Genji Shimada, Akame, Qrow Branwen, Captain Jack Sparrow, Laura Matsuda
  • Rivals: Raiden, Kamui Tokinomiya, Uzu Sanageyama, Beatrix Kiddo, Emu Hino, Vergil, Taskmaster, 2B, Puss In Boots, and any swordsman that is able to give him a good fight
  • Enemies: The House of Law and Justice (given his past as a mercenary), Adam Taurus
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: His coworkers from Desperado Enforcement (Sundowner, Monsoon, Mistral, Steven Armstrong), Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiao-Long
  • Odd Friendship: Rikuo
  • Samuel Rodrigues came across Raiden and actually defeated him in their first encounter. He ascended after his mortal death at the hands of Raiden in their second duel in the badlands and the Pantheon, very impressed with his skills, allowed him to ascend as the God of Katanas.
  • Even though he was born in Brazil, he is actually half-Japanese and descends from a long line of swordsmen, dating back to 16th century Japan, on his father's side. However, when one of the pupils of his father murdered him, he underwent arduous training before killing said person himself and avenging his father.
    • He was amused when he heard of Inigo Montoya but then became a close friend of his after hearing that he lost his father. They like to spar in their free time together.
  • Even though he was working with Desperado Enforcement, he now has distanced himself from them and returned to working as a mercenary like the old days. He has memories of those times like taking various odd jobs, including a job as a bodyguard and as a cleaner for the Mafia.
    • He is surprisingly fond of Deadpool, a fellow mercenary like him, but he is weirded out that he sounds suspiciously like Monsoon sometimes.
  • Even for an intermediate God you shouldn't understimate him. Sam is skilled enough with his blade that he can take on Greater Gods and hold his own without breaking a sweat — he defeated Raiden in their first encounter and even went toe-to-toe with Armstrong.
  • When he met Uzu Sanageyama, he was surprised with his skills in kendo and challenged him to a battle. After a long match, Sam was very impressed with Uzu and declared him a worthy rival.
  • Has a huge admiration for Samurai Jack, since his fighting styles reminds him of the times he trained under his father. Fighting Jack is also very entertaining for Sam, since the former is no slouch when dealing with robots himself.
  • Seems to be a fan of fireworks and explosions. That's one of the reasons he seems to visit the house of Explosives a lot.
  • Though he might appear just as robotic as his fellow Winds of Destruction, the vast majority of his swordsmanship and agility comes from the man himself. On those rare occasions he loses a swordfight, his opponents are shocked to see he's barely enhanced at all, save for his right hand, which he lost while he was "interviewing" with Senator Armstrong on top of World Marshal's Denver HQ.
  • Sam bears the honor of having the best shit-eating grin in all of the Pantheon. It's so popular that he even made advertisements for Colgate
    • Even other people had tried to copy Sam's grin. Particularly, Eliza was able to mimic his smile almost perfectly.
  • Occasionaly visits the House of Machinery and Technology to visit his friend Bladewolf. Nobody knows how these two became friends, but it is rumored that Sam was one of the main reasons Bladewolf decide to "be more human."
  • On the rare moments when he gets drunk and spars with another drunk Raiden (and Waluigi), this happens, earning the WTF looks from other gods and an amused smile from Dio.
  • His encounter with Remnant huntress Blake Belladona didn't exactly go very well, since his fighting style is very similar to her ex-boyfriend Adam Taurus, right down to his sword matching the one Adam uses in combat. While Blake did handle herself pretty decently, she was no match for Samuel's technique. However, she changed her mind after learning that he wasn't as bad as she though Sam was and let him be. She, however, doesn't entirely trust Sam either.
    • To make matters worse, Sam also was interested in challenging her partner Yang Xiao Long. However, he was pretty dissapointed that Yang's encounter with Adam left her with her right arm missing. Yang at first was a little hesitant to interact with Sam given that he thought he was up to no good but surprisingly, he is pretty understanding of the situation, given he too lost an arm. He has promised that when she gets better, he would return to challenge her.
  • Was weirded out that the only other Brazilian god around was the merman known as Rikuo. They have actually become friends over time and Sam has grown interested in battling Rikuo some day.
    • Later, he met fellow Japanese-Brazilian Laura Matsuda, who he learned was a martial artist promoting her family's fighting art. Upon learning this, he challenged her to a fight, and even agreed to go hand-to-hand. Without using his sword or making much of his enhancements, she proved superior but he still held his own, impressing her well enough. They occasionally spar and hang out since then. Though she disapproves of his work, her carefree nature makes her easy to relax around and being one of her "grappling buds" helps him improve his skills.
  • There has been a video circulating that retells how his fight with Raiden actually went about.
  • Sam is actually completely fluent in Japanese, but that in and of itself has caused a few problems. Due to the familiarity of his voice, many have mistaken him for a swordsman cursed with bad luck and a pirate captain. Once the three were able to meet, they were able to laugh off their similarities, with their shared voice becoming a Running Gag between the trio.
  • "We've both heard enough speeches about higher causes by now. History will decide who's right. End of story."

    Sasaki Kojirou
Sasaki Kojirou, God of Simultaneous Blade Strikes (Assassin, Nameless Samurai, Regend, Saviour of France, Nameless Saber)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_servant_039_3.png
Nameless Saber
  • Theme Song: "Fictional Heroic Spirit", Tempest Knight
  • Intermediate God as Assassin. Potentially a Greater God as Nameless Saber.
  • Symbol: His Nodachi or the Ryuudouji Temple
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil (At least, that's what his profile states about him. He's more in line of True Neutral.)
  • Portfolio: Anti-Villain, Blood Knight, Badass Normal, Face Death with Dignity, Having immense power at the cost of defense, Friendly Enemy, Master Swordsman, Spirited Competitor, Handsome Lech
  • Domain: Combat, Weapons
  • Allies: Karna, Jin Kisaragi, Hakuman
  • Enemies: Medea, Zouken Matou, Kagenaru Mono
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Ornstein and Smough
  • Rivals: Sam Rodriguez, Kamui Tokinomiya, Afro Samurai
  • Worthy Opponents: Miyamoto Musashi, Samurai Jack, Artoria Pendragon, Goku, Ryu, Ken, Ashen One.
  • Tsubame Gaeshi, a sword technique that has the ability to twist dimensions so that Kojiro is able to strike from three directions at the same time. How was he able to achieved such a feat? By swinging his sword, a lot. A lot a lot. He swung it so much that reality just gave up and granted him the ability thanks to the Second Magic. At one point in the mortal realm, while Assassin practiced this technique, he refined it so much that at one point, he created a opening to a parallel universe that was so big, he got sucked right into it. Eventually, he ended up into the Trope Pantheons where after impressing some deties with Tsubame-Gaeshi, he was given the title of Simultaneous Blade Strikes.
  • It should be noted that Sasaki Kojiro isn't really his real name because in the world he comes from, the name itself is fictional and was created to act as a Worthy Opponent for Miyamoto Musashi. He is just a nameless samurai who's skill was the closes to what Sasaki Kojiro would be. Because of this, it's ok with others calling him just Assassin. Of course, this status has been debated after the real Sasaki Kojirou was found in Shimosa who happened to be a Saber and challenged Musashi to a Duel to the Death.
  • Asked the House of Craft to remodel his temple after the Ryuudouji Temple. Why the they didn't mind, they did ask why. Assassin response was that he has a affection for the place. In fact, he can sometimes be seen in the Pantheon riding a Deketora with the temple attached to it.
  • Seems to be very eager in battling one the dragon deities in the Pantheon thanks to his days during the Grand Order Holy Grail War in Orleans, France. When asked why, Assassin said this:
    • Because of this, he managed to found a group of Dragonslayers named the Dragon-Defeating Trio with Saint Martha and Saint George. While he did initially seek a duel with Tarasque, but relented upon learning from Martha about how it was able to withstand multiple of her punches, and that didn't even stop him from forming the group. It's unknown why Siegfried wasn't invited over there though.
    • Later members of the group included the Dovahkiin, and while he wasn't interested at first, after hearing stories of him absorbing dragon souls, he still wasn't interested... Until he heard stories of using a forbidden technique on Fortify Restoration potions to attain enough power to rival borderline Overdeities, which caused him to be stunned at how he managed to obtain such power.
    • Link also was associated with the group due to being involved in slaying demonic dragons in various points of his own timeline.
    • That being said, he does draw the line at killing dragons for fun, such as when Ornstein and Smough clearly expressing their hatred against dragons, especially when he learned that Gwyn, along with the Bearers of the Lord Souls committed a genocide against the Ancient Dragons to advance their Age of Fire.
    • And speaking of Dragons, he, along with his group, is also forbidden from the House of Dragons for obvious reasons. Sasaki could sigh a bit at how his reputation can mislead others.
  • Even though he is classified as Neutral Evil, he doesn't act the part. In fact, his alignment might be a self-stated one.
If you kill someone, no matter who you are, you are evil.
  • Being a swordsman who loves a challenge, he got to meet many people who share his challenge-seeking philosophy. While some became his rivals because of this, others became close friends with him, and even some saw him as a worthy sparring opponent. Case in point;
    • He became allies with Karna because they were summoned by evil masters (though in Karna's case, he was summoned by a more benevolent villain) and that they also had a climatic final battle.
    • While he had odd looks at Jin Kisaragi for his jackassery at first, he then learned about how he developed into a nice, but still mean character, which caught his interest. Ditto for Hakumen, who happened to be Jin's future self, which has made him interested for a proper duel against them.
    • Due to all of them being Challenge Seekers, he has earned 2 sparring opponents named Ryu and Ken, and while he did grew wary at first due to their violent sides, Ryu at least assured him, given that he managed to expel his evil side. Unfortunately, this also resulted in Sasaki targeting Kagenaru Mono, given that he was Evil Ryu given physical form.
    • He is currently preparing for a proper duel with Artoria Pendragon, given that he is no longer under the orders of Medea and is able to have access to his Saber Self, which once fought Musashi to a Duel to the Death.
  • Due to the... interesting way he was used as a summoning catalyst for Hassan of the Cursed Arm in the 5th Holy Grail War, he gets sore whenever someone mentions Zouken Matou.
  • He has been hearing about people or even creatures trying to copy the Tsubame Gaeshi. However, most of them seem to copy the "swallow tail" version of the technique.
  • His weapon of choice, the Washing Pole, is HUGE even by the standards of an average length of a Katana, having a length of at least 90 cm, only surpassed by Sephiroth's Masamune which is about 243 cm at best. That being said, it has also been found in the time-convoluted realms of Lordran, Drangleic, and Lothric. That said, he was a little less than amused to learned that most of them prefer to run straight forward with and attack with the tip rather than even bothering to use the Tsubame-Gaeshi, which is understandable given that said technique is hard to master.

"The war gods heard my prayers. You underestimated me."

    Soul Calibur
Soul Calibur, The Unholy Holy Sword (Krita-Yuga, Excalibur, The Spirit Sword, The Sword of Salvation, Elysium)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bd63c2560642c15f551f0de6fedeaa9e.jpg
Click here to see her true form, Elysium
  • Theme Song: "The Perfect World" "Sacred Dawn" (As Elysium)
  • Rank: Intermediate Goddess, can grow more Greater Goddess with enough power.
  • Symbol: The sword itself, surrounded by crystals and angel feathers
  • Alignment: Pure Law
  • Portfolio: Cool Sword, Empathic Weapon Can change forms best fit to her wielder, Living Weapon, Can create power crystals of ice at will, Can heal it's wielder, Excalibur Expy, Knight Templar, Can possess and persuade her wielder to do her bidding, Manipulative Bastard, Angelic Beauty, A Form You Are Comfortable With, Pure Is Not Good, Light Is Not Good
  • Domains: Ice, Crystals, Order, Light, Law, Shapeshifting, Weapons
  • Allies: the GUAL
  • Enemies: GUAG Sacred Knights, Jin Kisiragi, Bloody Maire, Anyone who uses any power she deems impure
  • Opposes: NIGHTMARE, SOUL EDGE.
  • After Algol killed his son after the boy had become possessed by the evil Soul Edge, he vowed to create a new holy sword from the shards of the cursed blade, even sacrificing his life in the process. However, his own soul ended up corrupting the weapon, making it just as malicious as Soul Edge itself. With the seal of its true nature broken during constant clashes with Nightmare, the sword unleashes her true malice on the world.
  • Her nature makes her an enemy of the GUAG Sacred Knights, who have made warnings not to seek her out. Sophitia in particular id more than ready to find a way to destroy Soul Calibur after it caused her son to fight and kill his own sister in one timeline.
  • Once the signature weapon of Seigfied, he realized it was dangerous after his last duel with Nightmare in where he was almost possessed himself, and sealed it away within The Vault. However, one day, in the midst of confusion in the Pantheon, it vanished. The Sacred Knights went on a quest to relocate it, but it wasn't long before the sword made itself known as Elysium, and pledged its allegiance to YHVH to create a pure perfect world.
  • Soul Calibur cannot comprehend Dark Is Not Evil, and so has declared war on everyone with even the slightest affiliation with darkness. This was made clear after she tried to strike down Artix, sensing his power as the Champion of Darkness inside him.
  • Wants nothing more than to purify the entire world, especially those she considers Malfested. She cares not for Good or Evil but of a world where any trace Dark is erased. Needless to say, the entire league of Evil and Chaos are both planning her destruction.
  • Jin Kisiragi loathes Soul Calibur, as it gives him a dark reminder of when he was used by his own blade, Yukianasa. Soul Calibur tried to coerce him to her side to gain control of his Power of Order, but was disdainfully discarded.
  • Finds herself at odds with Fi, despite both being Empathic Weapons with a strong since of justice. While both of them wish for peace over their respective worlds, Fi drew the line at Elysium's willingness to manipulate its wielders for its own purposes.
  • As a weapon, she is able to change its shape into any weapon she desires, allowing whoever wields her to gain ultimate power without adjusting their typical fighting style. However, Elysium herself is also able to wield the fighting style of every female goddess in the pantheon that uses weapons, making her a nightmare to fight due to her versatility.
  • Is ironically avoiding Algol as a possible wielder due to the corruption inside the former Hero King. His will would vastly outpower her own if he were to get his hands on her, and Algol would become an even greater threat than before.
  • Despite being completely sentient, it's still a sword in need of a wielder to unleash its true potential. Since she currently has no host, she is wandering the Pantheon with her last guise as Elysium, which irks Sophitia to no end.
    • It's possible for her to, like Nightmare, create a physical form for itself without a body, but no such occurrence has been seen thus far.
  • Asbel has tried to reason with the sword, but Soul Calibur rejected him due to all the times he showed mercy to his foes, even after they severely damaged the world he lived in. Worse still in her eyes was Lambda 's power flowing through him, which made him no better than a Malfested in her eyes.
  • Lysandre has an interest in the spirit sword, since their ideals seem to overlap quite often. Though Lysandre himself doesn't wish to wield Soul Calibur, there has been some talk of an new improved Ultimate Weapon being developed within the pantheon...

    Xiahou Dun
Xiahou Dun (style name: Yuanrang), God of Intimidating Scimitars (The One-Eyed General, Marquis Zhong)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/XiahouDun_7121.jpg
  • Theme Song: Summer
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: His Eye patch and his sword, the Qilin Fang
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Weapon of Choice: Qilin Fang
  • Portfolio: Undying Loyalty, Eyepatch of Power, He's Cao Cao's right-hand man, Envious of Guan Yu, Tall, Dark, and Snarky
  • Domains: Loyalty, Fearlessness, Strength, Envy
  • Allies: Cao Cao, Xiahou Yuan, the Dovahkiin, Date Masamune
  • Rivals: Guan Yu
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Susano'o, Oda Nobunaga
  • Enemies: Demonic Oda Nobunaga, Liu Bei, Zhang Fei, Sun Ce, Lu Bu, Huang Zhong, Zhang Xingcai
  • Complicated Relationship with: Sima Yi
  • His sword is known as the Qilin Fang (or Kiringa in Japanese reading), a powerful and large Podao that is used to completely defend his cousin and lord Cao Cao. He even provided his portrait for such a weapon.
    • Some say via Word of God, it's meant to be a foil to his rival Guan Yu's motif for the Azure Dragon, AKA Qinglong/Seiryuu. Some say that the original names of both his fourth and level 11 weapon reference the infamous "huolin/kakurin" (seizing bright) term, which nods to a certain person's written work being mysteriously cut-off by something akin to a qilin being hunted (or one's dying hours). Perhaps this has brought up rumors in that Xiahou Dun's stronger weapons reference a possible fact that "the qilin's fang itself may have ended that said work"....
  • Did anyone remember that one time he used a giant club? He carries that one with him too, and his historical self proves he's quite adept at using it, but is more famed for his sword skills.
  • He is often asked how he lost his eye, to which he answers that it was shot out by one of Lu Bu's archers at the battle of Xiapi/Puyang (the novel version of his history states that Cao Xing did it). He then ripped out the arrow with the eye still speared on the end of it and then decided to eat it, claiming that it had the essence of both his father and mother in it, and letting it merely waste away would be a severe disrespect. He then took quick care of a frightened-as-hell Cao Xing afterwards.
  • During an event he has worked alongside another Oda Nobunaga and Masamune Date. His cousin's disgust with this Nobunaga means that if Cao Cao wishes it Dun will kill the man. On the other hand, this Masamune amuses Xiahou as much as the other one, and no longer worships a snake, so he has elected to aid him if he ever needs it.
  • Is often envious of Guan Yu. Cao Cao sees potential in The Saint of War and has often tried to recruit him, but Dun does not share the sentiment. Should Guan Yu ever make even a hint of a move to oppose his lord, he will strike him down in an instant. However, he also feels a bit of a friendship with Lu Meng as they are both foils to Guan Yu in someway.
  • He would often raise an eyebrow over comparisons to Saix. It doesn't help that they sound alike.
  • He apparently held the secret recipe of 'Eyeball Dumpling', and rumors has it that it's how he ate his own eye. He just doesn't talk about it as much as before because everytime he mentioned that, his talk mate understandably gets Squicked.
    • That, or Xiahou Dun tries to put up a brave face when thinking back to the supposedly questionable sensation.
  • Historically, Xiahou Dun himself states he was more of a politician who studied even on the battlefield, and not an actual warrior while also being a bit lackluster on his historical military record (he's also a bit annoyed with how he's getting obsessed over by one of the Dynasty Warriors producers named Akihiro Suzuki over crap he didn't actually do). Nonetheless, he's been holding up on both his political and fighting skills on the Pantheon nowadays, even if it's not focused on battlefield strategy. That said, he's also very solid on the field of logistics and states that it's always wise to find his advantages to fall back on first as a priority.
    • Fellow gods who are fans of the original Three Kingdoms novel may like to have a "dream-match" with Xiahou Dun against Wang Lang, hoping he talks the corrupt minister down the same way Zhuge Liang did; apparently learning of Xiahou Dun's politician skills and remembering that one moment in the said novel seems to have brought this amusing thought on. Xiahou Yuanrang himself states that a fool like Wang Lang will barf blood a second time when faced with his arguments, especially since he finds it a disgrace to the man's name that the historical Wang Lang may have never been someone like that in the first place.
      • Xiahou Dun even states that if it wasn't for his cousin Cao Cao, he wouldn't be in a high ranking position at all in the first place, though he states that that is no excuse for him to slack off and abuse authority; all the more merrier to work harder for where he stands. In terms of his rivalry with Guan Yu however, he's understanding of him in that both generals tend to be far too over-hyped nowadays.
  • He lately got funny looks directed at him by Gintoki Sakata, who recalls that he might have chopped off his own dick and ate it like how he ate his eye. Of course, Xiahou Dun is disgusted with that, what came out was, "Who is this 'Kagura Dun' you spoke of!?"
  • He used to be called 'The Blind General', but we stopped putting that as an alternative name, because Dun was known to get so severely pissed at that, even historically. There was an incident when he was patrolling Queen Grimhilde's house and then the Magic Mirror makes mention of that, then he smashed that mirror to pieces out of anger. He claims to have gotten better, but we're not too sure.
  • He's on good terms with the Dovahkiin, not because of him fighting dragons, but more because the Dovahkiin was quite impressed on an actual thing that happened to Xiahou Dun putting a variation to one thing that annoyed him the most: Used to be a super fearsome general, until he took an arrow in the eye. AND ATE IT (He's still a fearsome general, though).
  • On a side note, during the one time Sima Yi was there to witness Xiahou Dun's natural death, via the latter's adamant mindset, Zhongda himself cried out "Xiahou Dun....you're such a pain in the ass!" while weeping for his death. Xiahou Dun himself seems to understand what Sima Yi was getting at due to their state starting to undergo some major changes that should've been accepted.

    Yousuke Otoha/Karas
Yousuke Otoha, God of Sword Lines (Karas of Shinjuku, Doctor Karas, Otoha)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7a4880df07d006977f38cf4499095741.jpg
Karas (with Yurine)
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: His Helmet; Alternatively, his Karas Drive
  • Theme Music: Karas
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Animal Motifs, Badass Longcoat, The Cowl, Dark Is Not Evil, Determinator, Disability Superpower, Emotionless Guy, Feel No Pain, Friendless Background, Good Thing You Can Heal, Henshin Hero, Katanas Are Just Better, Ninja, Super-Speed, Yakuza (formerly)
  • Domains: Combat, Crows, Heroism, Transformation
  • Herald: Yurine.
  • Allies: Batman, Ichigo Kurosaki, Rachel Roth, Black Jack, Emu Hojo
  • Rivals (most are Friendly Rivals): Ryu, Chun-Li, Morrigan Aensland
  • Enemies: Scarecrow, Fiddlesticks, The Crow, Yami
  • Opposes: Sinestro
  • Foil to: Fujino Asagami
  • On good terms with: Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima
  • Yousuke Otoha had quite a troubled life, being the product of incest between his mother and brother/father, with the latter being part of the yakuza and used Otoha as an enforcer for such. He also has congenital insensitivity to pain, which renders him being unable to feel extensive amounts of pain no matter how severe they may be and happens to be the Karas of Shinjuku, a guardian that can transform into a sword-wielding knight and certain vehicles, embodies the Will of the City and ensures stability between the worlds of humanity and yokai. When his predecessor Eko Hoshunin intends to remake the entire city to his image with the help of mikura (demons with mechanical attributes), it’s up to Otoha to stop him and prevent the city from falling into the wrong hands.
  • As Otoha continued his duties of protecting his version of Shinjuku, Tokyo from the supernatural threats that besiege it, he learned of rumors regarding portals that lead to other far away locations, especially after an incident where he fought a monster that was very different from what he was used to. When one such portal refused to disappear after a monster that came out of it was defeated, Karas went inside and discovered what appeared to be a city not that different from what he was used to. There wasn’t much time for Karas to be taking in the sights as another monster was not only approaching him, but to that portal intent on wreaking havoc, though Karas was able to stop it. As Otoha would later find out, these portals would lead to a place known as the Pantheon and while he would continue his duties to protect his own city, Otoha has taken the time to ensure the safety of the Pantheon as well given the kinds of dangers that befall the place, especially since his version of Shinjuku has become connected to this vast world he’s discovered.
  • He managed to find quite a bit in common with Batman, chiefly being that they are both heroes who work from the shadows, are known for intimidating their foes in addition to their combat prowess, and even having a dark animal motif to go with it (crows for Otoha and bats for Bruce Wayne). While the Caped Crusader is no stranger to dealing with supernatural threats from time to time, Otoha goes up against these kinds of enemies on a regular basis. Batman found quite a bit to like about Otoha as far as tactics are concerned, especially since Karas is more than capable of going up against certain supernatural threats (especially related to yokai) that prove to be more of a challenge for Batman than normal. The two have worked together on occasion in a number of dark urban areas within the Pantheon to protect them from anything that poses a significant danger to those areas.
  • To put it bluntly, Otoha’s primary profession is that of someone who fights against evil demons (much of them mechanized) and malevolent supernatural entities and the Pantheon had no shortage of individuals that specialize in that field. What Otoha found unusual is that a good number of these demon hunters sometimes had part of some sort of demonic power within them to help them fight against demons, though considering how the Pantheon featured a much larger variety of supernatural entities throughout the setting compared to what Otoha had gone up against, Otoha would be accustomed to deities who have fought against demons and the supernatural such as Ichigo Kurosaki and has worked with them a number of times to fight off those threats.
  • As Otoha would find out, there are plenty of others associated with crows that have malicious intent in mind. Jonathan Crane and Fiddlesticks would be those who have crow motifs that Karas would end up in conflict against and their desire to inflict fear onto innocents (when Karas would instill fear onto those that endanger innocents) gave Karas a fair amount of reason to go after them, especially if they endanger his city. Scarecrow found Karas to be a bit similar to Batman in a few ways (partially since Otoha does have a friendship with Batman) and has been looking for effective ways to counter Karas and his abilities. As far as actual crows are concerned, The Crow was something Otoha took great issue with given that it is a deceitful manipulator with omnicidal ambitions and though The Crow hardly cares about what Otoha thinks of it, it knows that Otoha won’t go down easily in a fight.
  • In essence, Otoha is someone who is known for working in the dark and harnessing darkness-related powers to fight against anything that threatens him and his city. There were plenty of individuals in the Pantheon who use the power of darkness for good that Otoha got along with. Rachel Roth is a superhero who also harnesses the power of darkness and like Otoha, she’s had her share of family trouble, but to a far greater extent thanks to being the daughter of a powerful and ruthless demon known as Trigon. While Otoha is more than aware that things would be much harder for him as a Karas if his backstory was similar to that as Raven’s, he found the fact that Raven is willing to use her powers for good and is trying her best not to succumb to her evil heritage to be admirable.
  • Otoha’s main enemy was his predecessor Eko, who believed that Tokyo had lost its way and vowed to remake it in his own image. Having dealt with such a villainous predecessor to a job dedicated to heroism, Otoha had plenty of reasons to be apprehensive of Sinestro, who was a former Green Lantern before Hal Jordan took up the mantle and has formed his own corps who utilize the power of fear to try and instill order in the universe. While Sinestro’s motivations are comparatively well-intentioned and is willing to work with Hal when a more dangerous threat is on the horizon, it doesn’t change the fact that he is selfish and willing to perform a lot of dangerous actions to succeed and it made Otoha dislike Sinestro quite a bit.
  • The circumstances of how Otoha was born seemed to play a role in him having CIP and wasn’t the only figure related to this that Otoha came across. Fujino Asagami was someone who had that trait, albeit because her father gave her drugs to seal her psychic powers and once she ended up feeling that kind of sensation again, things got a lot more dangerous for her and her enemies. While Fujino eventually got better after a while, it doesn’t change the fact that she is very dangerous if pushed too far. Fujino did learn of how Otoha went through past trauma to become not only a better individual, but a hero that protects the city he lives in from harm, something of an opposite in how Fujino made attempts to be nice, but her trauma and pain accumulated to the point of her becoming ruthless to her enemies.
  • Not only does Otoha fight against the supernatural as Karas, but he is also a doctor who helps injured innocents recover. This led to Otoha finding plenty of other doctors who are not only skilled in their field, but are willing to put up a good fight against any adversary that stands in their way. Dr. Black Jack was one of the number of doctors who Otoha befriended given how skilled and dedicated Black Jack is as a doctor (to the point of likely surpassing Otoha’s skills in such) and has had his share of getting caught up in danger outside the medical area (even if it’s not to the same extent as Otoha). Meeting Emu Hojo ended up being an experience for Otoha as not only was Hojo a doctor who shared a similar gimmick as Otoha in terms of alter egos (even with all the differences in power and ability between the two), but the major allies Hojo worked with all share a similar quirk in that regard. Otoha learned of the kinds of dangers Hojo and his friends went up against and it gave him more of a motivation to protect both his city and the Pantheon, something that Hojo and his allies are willing to help with in regards to the latter area.
  • His past in being involved as an enforcer for his brother/father in the yakuza is something that Otoha is not proud of to say the least. While he had his reasons to be wary of notable yakuza figures in the Pantheon, he learned that a number of them are actually amicable in spite of their (very likely former) involvement in such. Kazuma Kiryu was one such name within the yakuza who Otoha ended up encountering and it quickly became apparent that Kiryu maintained a strong moral standing especially when it came to people he cared about. While Kiryu’s close acquaintance Goro Majima does have a history of being ruthless, he still maintains a sense of what’s right. Although Otoha is still not one to get heavily involved with the yakuza, he considers both Kiryu and Majima to be individuals that he has no issue hanging out with whenever he isn’t fighting against the supernatural.
  • Otoha is among one of a handful of individuals chosen to participate in a fighting tournament a small number of Pantheon deities were also participants that time. Within the Pantheon, Otoha was able to get to know some of these fighters a bit better thanks to some of them (notably Ryu) engaging in a bit of friendly sparring practice to better their abilities, something that Otoha has taken to time to do as well whenever he isn’t busy. That specific tournament also brought Karas face-to-face with a monstrous entity of darkness known as Yami, which not only was responsible for bringing those particular deities together for that tournament, but is capable of spreading darkness and ruin to a great degree. Knowing that Yami can summon monsters not that different to what he’s fought against before and how much of a danger Yami poses overall, Otoha decided that Yami is a threat that couldn’t be ignored and has made it a point to fight back against it.

    Yuuto Kiba
Yuuto Kiba, God of Erupting Swords (Prince Charming, Casanova, Darkness Knight Fang, The Prince of Kuoh Academy, Shura)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dxd_02_3517.jpg
  • Theme Song: Sympathy, Bokutachi no Omoi
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: A crimson knight chess piece.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Broken Ace, Chick Magnet, Nice Guy, Swords User, Weak, but Skilled, May or May Not Be Into Issei, Fragile Speedster, Was Once a Girl Because of Azazel's Gender-Swapping Gun, Was Consumed by Revenge Due to his Past as a Lab Rat Before Issei Set Him Straight, Owes His Life To Issei After Saving Him, Having Lots of Homoerotic Subtext with Issei
  • Domains: Swords, Heroes, Vengeance, Popularity
  • Allies:
  • Enemies: YHVH, Satan, Lucifer, Ragyo Kiryuin, Yuuki Terumi, Mard Geer Tartaros, Ryoma Sengoku, Gilgamesh (Fate), Raynare, Ornstein, Shinnok, Gul'dan, Quan Chi
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with: Vali Lucifer, Jin Kisaragi
  • Rival: Gilgamesh (Final Fantasy)
  • Opposes: Excalibur
  • The school prince and most popular boy in Kuoh Academy, Yuuto Kiba hides a horrific past under his prince-like visage. Born without a name and only known by his nickname Izaya, he was raised as nothing more than a lab rat by a group of Catholic extremists for the Holy Sword Project, a failed experiment to make children wield Holy Swords. He was the experiment's lone survivor, and only managed to escape with the other cavies sacrificing their lives; as such, he brought with himself a strong need for revenge towards those who experimented on him even after Rias turned him into a Devil and gave him a new life. As such, he is one of Rias's most loyal followers because she saved him when he had no one else to rely on, and also became fast friends with Issei - who was initially jealous of him due to his school-wide populariy - after the latter became a Devil himself.
  • While both Shirou Emiya and Archer would be more well know of the Field of Blades trope, both of them have already ascended with different titles, thus leaving Kiba to opt for the title. His Sacred Gear, Sword Birth, has the power to sprout different swords out of the ground to attack his enemies. Not only that, it sword has a different ability to counter his opponents.
  • Issei, who has rooted for Kiba's ascension from day one, is happy to see that his best friend has finally ascended. Kiba, of course, wasted no time to go to Issei's temple upon arriving in the Pantheon grounds as a proper deity.
    • Koneko was just as happy to see Kiba again and gave him a big hug.
  • There are some deities who wonder if Kiba's relationship with Issei is just best friends or much more. It doesn't help that his proclamation of protection for Issei sounded a bit more then just friends. While Issei shrugs all claims in a very flustered fashion, Kiba just laughs in disbelief.
    • On a related note, Kiba actually turned himself into a woman to take care of a sick Issei. Apron and all. And it freaked Issei out since Fem!Kiba (or, as many call her, Yumi) was just his type.
  • Amazingly, Kiba is able to endure Excalibur's lecture...for one hour and forty-five minutes before he too can't stand him. (ﺧ益ﺨ)
  • Compared to Issei, Xenovia and Irina, Kiba is actually good friends with Ryuko Matoi and Senketsu. Might be the fact that they were both revenge prone and experimented on. This is also why he is allied with Laura Kinney.
  • Once had a run in with FF Gilgamesh who challenge Kiba in a duel for his Demon Swords he won after defeating Siegfried. After a hard fight, Kiba emerge victorious. After Gilgamesh proclaimed him "his eternal rival", one of many, he leaped out of the scene, leaving a confuse Kiba behind.
  • Like the others in the Occult Research Club, Kiba wasn't happy that Raynare somehow made her way into the pantheon.
  • Was surprise to find that there was a Siegfried and a Arthur Pendragon in the pantheon. Especially when he found out that the former was female and could stand Excalibur. He often spar with the two.
  • Does not like Ryoma Sengoku because his callous attitude towards people reminds him of Valper Galilei. He also despises Ragyo Kiryuin for experimenting on his daughters.
  • Was surprise to find out that there were some deities who sounded like him like Mamuro Chiba, Fox McCloud, and Shiki Tohno. He actually look up to Mamoru for his protective nature.
  • Like the other members of the ORC, Kiba has befriended Luka, whom he respects for his desire for a peaceful coexistence between monsters and human beings. Luka in turn does sympathize with Kiba due to his bad experiences of getting experimented on by religious fanatics, saying that it reminds him of his experiences with angels in his own world.
  • Kiba's ability to create multiple sword isn't limited to just Demon Swords, he can also create Holy Swords thanks to his second Sacred Gear, Blade Blacksmith. It also has a second ability call Glory Drag Trooper which can create an army of dragon knights and copy its user's techniques and speed. Though, for now, they can only copy Kiba's speed.
    • Found out that the original Jeanne d'Arc also have a similiar ability of summoning dragon knights to do her bidding. However, she denies ever leaving any descendants in her time.

Lesser Gods

    Ciggma Khint
"We have a contract. You'll get your money's worth."

Ciggma Khint, God of Spell Blades (The Spell Fencer, Ikuma Naerik)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ciggma.png
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: His sword
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Spell Blade, Magic Knight, Nothing Personal, Perpetual Frowner, Professional Killer, Significant Anagram, Can Imbue His Blade With Silence As Well As Poison And Death, Only in It for the Money, Leaving When Things Go Sour For His Client Unless The Payment Is Exorbitant Enough, Technically Fulfilled His Goals: Paying For His Ill Daughter's Treatments, In Hiding In The Sequel
  • Domains: Spell Blade, Mercenary, Money
  • High Priest: Fayt
  • Rivals: Other Bounty Hunters such as Boba Fett and Agent 47
  • Enemies: Airy, Ouroboros
  • Additional Relationships: The Heroes of Luxendarc (sans Yew and Magnolia)
  • Dislikes: Talkative types
  • The Heroes of Luxendarc first encountered Ciggma Khint while he was under the employ of the K&P Merchantry in Ancheim. Twice he fought them alongside the Jackal and Erutus Profiteur separately before eventually ditching them when they started losing. His final bout with them in the first loop was alongside Eloch Quentis Khamer VIII, the then-ruler of Ancheim. Having been paid the entire treasury for his contract, Khint fought Tiz and company to the bitter end.
    • Prior to that, even before he claimed the Spell Fencer Asterisk, he served in the Eternian Duchy as a squadron commander, with Holly Whyte—who would eventually hold the White Mage Asterisk—as one of the members of the unit under his command. She and Einheria Venus—eventual holder of the Valkyrie Asterisk, and someone Edea Lee looked up to—viewed him in high regard.
  • Is in hiding during the events of the Glanz Empire's attack, he was approached by a Pantheon envoy and invited. For reasons only he knows, he took the offer, and was eventually ascended as a deity.
  • He doesn't hold his defeat to Tiz and company against them; that's just part of the mercenary life. And he had ultimately got what he wanted by the end. And since he's a mercenary, should they wish to, he's willing to accept them as contractors.
  • As part of his position, he's been granted the abilities of his Spell Fencer Asterisk, which he heard was now in the Treasury. This includes Asterisk space to prevent escape, though it goes away if Khint leaves the battle.
  • He used to have exorbitant surcharges to likely help compensate his sick daughter should he end up dying, which is what happened to him before the Adventurer saved him (and many others Tiz and company defeated) from the brink. But since Death Is Cheap in the Pantheon, Khint was required to reassess his fee system before joining the market again for contracts. The Eight Travelers are among his more frequent employers.
  • Many mercenaries look down on Khint for his dynamic contract fee since they deem it unprofessional to back out on a client when a price is agreed on.
  • As someone who turned to a life of crime to pay for illness treatment, Khint sort of understands Walter White's motivations when the drug lord hired him one time. Though for White's it's his own while for Khint's it's his daughter's. That said, given White's occasional bouts of ego, which can lead to recklessness, as well as how he treats his allies, Khint keeps their relationship professional, and is always ready to leave should things get too dicey.
  • Given the exorbitant bounty on John Wick, Khint is among those who fancy a chance in claiming it. Given their differences in their choice of weapon, he often ends up as just another notch in Wick's kill count.
  • As someone who's undergone the mercenary life, Khint was approached one day by Han Solo and Chewbacca. The former can relate to only caring for his next payment (before turning over a new leaf when he joined the Rebel Alliance), and the latter is trying to encourage Khint to becoming a full-fledged good guy, like he had done with Han, though the Wookiee language is admittedly hard to understand.
  • Also found in the Hall of Combat Magic.
  • "My contract ends here. I'll take my leave."

    Finn the Human
Finn Mertens, God of Heroic Swordsmen (Finn the Human, Pen, King of the Goblins, Davey Johnson, P-G-8-7 Mertens, Prince Hotbod, The Blue Catalyst Comet, Shoko)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/finn_scarlet.png
Finn without his hat.
Finn from Season 8 onwards.
  • Lesser God (although could potentially be an Intermediate God if he were to use the full scope of his psychic powers)
  • Symbol: His iconic hat
  • Theme Songs: His show's theme song, Island Song, My Best Friends in the World, All Gummed Up Inside
  • Alignment: Shifts between Neutral Good and Chaotic Good, heavier on the Neutral side as he got older
  • Portfolio: Token Humans, Kid Heroes, Character Development, Determination, Fighting For Great Justice and Happiness, Heroic Willpower, Gold Hair, Adorkable, Morality Chain to most of his important friends, Beware the Nice Ones, Bodyguard Crushes, Mundane Made Awesome, Pint Sized Powerhouses, Samaritan Syndrome, Heartbroken Badasses, Book Dumb, Reincarnation Of The Blue Catalyst Comet, Stock Shōnen Hero Deconstruction
  • Domains: Humankind, Adventure, Surrealism, Children
  • Heralds: Joshua and Margaret (His adoptive parents and Jake's parents), Jermaine (His adoptive brother and Jake's brother), Huntress Wizard (his current romantic partner), Shermy (his successor)
  • Complicated relationship with: Fern (his Alternate Self)
  • Allies:
  • On speaking terms with: Lemongrab
  • Enemies:
  • Opposes: Any and all abusive or dead-beat parents, Bender, Sasuke Uchiha
  • Respects: Good parents
  • Sympathizes with: N, Pacifica, Doofenshmirtz, Gladeon
  • A former follower of Ness, he ascended in his own right when O-Haruhi-sama found records of him being the token human in a world filled with really surreal and strange beings.
    • His title was revoked however once it was revealed he wasn't the only human on Ooo. Well, not any longer, after Betty Grof entered present Ooo from the past, not to mention the truth of Susan Strong. To compensate, they gave Finn Heroes Prefer Swords since all of his preferred weapons were swords (though he had a crossbow and used an axe in his early days), wielding a variety of them throughout his adventuring career. They include: A demon blood sword, a cursed grass sword, a sword made from an alternate version of Finn, a night sword empowered by Hunson Abadeer, and in a (maybe) different continuity, a sword that can create portals to other dimensions.
    • Given his affinity for swords, Finn has a special admiration for sword masters, particularly his fellow CN sword masters Pearl and Samurai Jack. He's often seen honing his swordsmanship skills with them, alongside other young sword-wielding heroes, such as Sayaka Miki and Kazuma Kenzaki.
    • He especially connected with fellow sword-wielders Sokka and Connie Maheswaren, due to them also being the normals among their peers. Given the challenges they're regularly forced to face, the three are seen as something of an inspiration for other young badass normals.
    • Don't think he's useless without a sword, though; he fights with his bare hands just as often.
  • Now that The Lich has ascended, he swears to defeat him once and for all, no matter how many times it takes.
  • He and Jake frequently rub elbows with Gumball, Mordecai and Rigby, given the strange and surreal adventures they often get caught up in. Finn managed to bond with Mordecai in particular over their less than stellar love lives. As such, he was happy to learn that he settled down with a bat girl and even started a family. Likewise, Mordecai's in full support of his relationship with Huntress Wizard.
  • Given how he was accidentally abandoned by his parents as a baby, Finn fiercely opposes abusive and deadbeat parents. His animosity towards bad parents would only increase after discovering that his dad was a deadbeat and conman that wanted nothing to do with him.
  • After spending so long not knowing about his people, Finn would eventually find Ooo's last remaining humans located on a group of islands; led by none other than his mother. Fortunately, unlike his dad, Finn would find his mom to be a genuinely kind and caring person; despite initially not approving of his adventuring lifestyle.
  • He apparently got his hat after skinning and killing an evil bear after his old one was brought to life by the Ancient Sleeping Magi of Life Giving. This revelation hasn't sat well with evil bears like Bashmaster.
  • Vanoss, Nogla, and Terroriser initially mistook him for their friend, Marcel, who apparently takes on his image whenever they play Gary's Mod.
  • At one point, he randomly ran into Rainbow Dash and initially mistook her for a rainicorn. After making sure she wasn't going to attempt to eat him, the two managed to it off, leading to him meeting the rest of the Mane Six.
    • Finn was pleasantly surprised to find out how experienced they were in fighting evil. Likewise, he's made it a point to keep an eye on Tirek, not wanting another repeat of the Bella Noche incident.
  • Due to BMO plucking Finn's facial hairs while he sleeps to keep him "forever young", Finn was forced to deal with stubble ever since BMO's own ascension (since BMO wouldn't always be there every night to trim his face) and learn how to shave.
  • Despite normally being Book Dumb is more than a few areas, Finn is surprisingly skilled in cartography. He's also pretty proficient with the flute.
  • At one point, he got turned into a Hug Wolf but he managed to cure it by the end. Hearing of it, Hircine was personally offended, viewing lycanthropy as a gift rather than a curse. Finn meanwhile has it out for the Daedric Prince after he decided to go and order a hunt on his brother Jake and another one on Marceline thinking they'd make great game.
  • Finn and his friends are just a few targets of the deranged Hero Killer Stain, particularly for letting his emotions get the better of him numerous times, especially back when Finn was undergoing puberty and ignored his heroic duties in favor of a relationship after Flame Princess broke up with him. He also refuses to let him live down how he inadvertently drove Lemongrab further into tyranny. While he initially tried to prove that he's since learned from his mistakes, it didn't take long for Finn to realize that the guy was too out of his mind to be reasoned with.
  • While understandably freaked out about Star destroying the source of magic in her universe, given its major presence within Ooo, Finn can at least understand her reasoning and two still get along due to their shared love of fighting evil.
  • Finn would also find himself getting along with Naruto, due to them both starting out as rather hotheaded before maturing into proper heroes in their own right. That said, despite Naruto's insistence otherwise, he has trouble trusting Sasuke, not only for barely answering for his past crimes, but for abandoning his wife and daughter for a decade.
  • Sympathizes with Yang, due to also going through a period of depression after losing his arm. Yang, meanwhile, admires Finn for how well he handled losing his arm a second time.
    • Speaking of losing his arm, there's been debate on what to do given his final scene in the series seems to have him content with not replacing it. Given how much he's needed in the Pantheon, it was decided that his last prosthetic arm would be replicated and installed on Finn; no need for other ridiculous additions, given he already killed Fern by accident with his previous one.
  • He has become slightly wary of doppelganger deities after his own doppelganger and former friend, Fern, tried to kill and replace him, and had been inadvertently forced to kill him in return (though he came back to life).
    • This distrust has since faded away after making amends with Fern.
    • Speaking of killing Fern, that event was what toned him down from being so excited with fighting, to the point where he would successfully prevent a war from breaking out through a non-violent solution. This has earned him the respect of other pacifistic deities, such as Steven Universe and the Human Child.
  • Finn sees a lot of himself in young aspiring heroes like K.O. and Izuku. As such, he's made it a point to give them pointers whenever he can.
  • He was more than a bit surprised to see that he and Jake's Rule 63 counterparts from Ice King's fanfictions were in the Pantheon as well. After the initial shock between the two parties passed, they got along quite well, Finn and Jake being more than happy to detail the differences between their two worlds.
    • While Finn and Fionna would confide in each other, given their similar hardships, he has yet to share if she went through the same life changing events. And before anyone asks: No, she's not his long lost sister, and they would rather ignore the shippers urging them to hook up.
  • Had an interesting adventure when bloons invaded Ooo, and almost the entire land* was united to pop them all.
  • He, along with the rest of the Adventure Time were given a huge send-off from the Pantheon gods when his show finally came to an end. The newer Cartoon Network deities in particular were torn up about its ending, many of them drawing influence from the show. Amidst the many tears that were shed in the Pantheon, Finn reassured everyone that even with the show ending, he and his friends won't stop going on adventures anytime soon, even if they happen in another medium altogether. Sure enough, Finn and co. are set to adventure to distant lands beyond Ooo.
  • With his show now over, he, along with Jake, Mordecai, and Rigby, now look over the other CN deities of The New '10s and regularly offer them guidance.
  • During one of his adventures, Finn managed to discover the Brawlhalla arena. Excited for the chance to meet and fight so many legendary heroes, Finn readily signed up to be a regular competitor. He even convinced Jake and Princess Bubblegum to join in.
  • Kipo is another fellow post-apocalyptic child who grew up in an unfamiliar world and has a rather tragic past from being separated from her birth family like Fin was, though at a much oldger age. Kipo was curious to see that Finn in spite of starting out as a Blood Knight with massive recklessness grew into a wise, kind-hearted hero who rarely resorted to violence unless there was no choice and even started becoming a voice of reason to his friends in dire times. Finn himself admired that Kipo managed to also grow as a person without losing her optimistic view of the world and was able to reunite with her family in many ways, as while he did "reunite" with both of his parents, neither encounter was particularly happy as circumstances beyond their control tore apart their lives and thus neither had a positive send-off with Finn until much later.
  • Can also be found in Heroic Appearances.

    Isador "Machete" Cortes
Isador Cortes, God of Machetes (Machete)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/machete_2.jpg
  • Theme Song: Machete theme
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: His machete
  • Alignment: True Neutral with good tendencies.
  • Portfolio: Dashing Hispanic Who was wanted for an attempted hit, Badass Biker, Longcoat, Invincible Hero, has crazy machete throwing skills, Technical Pacifist, The Stoic
  • Domains: Swords, Strength, War, Liberation, Protection
  • Followers: The Machete Brothers, Cliff Hudson
  • Allies: John Marston, John Wick, Inigo Montoya, Zorro, Boba Fett (brielfy rivals)
  • Enemies: Jason Voorhees, Calvin Candie and Stephen, The House of Law and Justice in general, especially Rosco P. Coltrane, Sundowner
  • Jason had ruled supreme over the Pantheon thanks to popularizing the use of machetes. But there was one man who wanted to take the throne from him. A Latino man in a bike rode to the front of the temple. With him were two massive machetes. He entered the temple without a word…but that was quickly extinguished with constant crashes, explosions and utter destruction. In the end the man returned to the front, declaring victory. Thus Machete earned his place in the Pantheon as the new God of Machetes.
    • It was not the end of Jason though. He sought refuge in a new temple for himself. But one thing is clear; he won't stop until Machete is killed and chopped up into multiple pieces.
  • His origin story is a bit blurry. Everyone agrees with the stories he told in his two films. But there were rumors he made an appearance in an earlier film. Some even believe that he appeared with a couple of kid spies as a gadget inventor. Machete has refrained from commenting on those potential cameos to avoid a Continuity Snarl.
  • While Machete does not work anywhere near a jungle, a lot of hunters (good and evil alike) have employed the use of the weapon to plow through them. It is that reason that they make up a significant number of his clergy.
  • Is sometimes under the employment of Boba Fett though the partnership can be contentious at times. For example, a few bounty hunters went after Machete after a failed hit himself. That and he hardly ever kills his victims anyways.
  • Is good friends with John Marston, who he slightly envies for getting out of the game if only for a brief time. The retired outlaw has mixed feelings for the country of Mexico. He may have played both sides of the Mexican Civil War, but Machete is no friend of eeither goverments either.
  • Had wished that John Wick could have retired as well. Instead, the mobster is in deeper than he could ever imagine. With that said, Machete refuses to take the hit on Wick. That hasn't stopped people from speculating who would win in a fight.
  • Machete is used to dealing with people who hate him for his race as well as someone who doesn't enter the US legally. Yet he did not expect hospitality from Calvin, at least not at first. Calvin allowed the Latino into his mansion to discuss matters. He was willing to let Machete walk as long as he started working for him. That and denounce his own people. It seemed like a deal for Machete when he took the slave owner's hand. That is until he used his other hand to chop Calvin's off. The ensuing gunfight tore up the entire building, but it was Machete who managed to walk out of there. He may be a criminal, but he was no sell-out.
  • Naturally, people like him aren't welcome in the House of Law and Justice. Killer or not, Judge Dredd wants to put that man in the cube for all of his past crimes. It's not like Machete likes cops either. They always tend to get in the way of things.
    • He especially hates to deal with corrupt cops. It didn't matter which side of the border he does his work; those kind of cops are the ones who are out to get him the most. Luckily for him, Rosco is not nearly as dangerous as the ones he deals with back home.
  • Sundowner offered to sell him one of his trademark machetes for use. So it was a shock for him when Machete threw them right back at him. Working for a hit is one thing, but making a profit out of war in general left a bad taste in his mouth and he wanted no part in it.
  • While not exactly a Dashing Hispanic, he gets along fairly well against Inigo Montoya. He stated that things would probably have gone differently if the Dread Pirate simply told him of his true intentions.
  • Makes for a truly bizarre pairing with Zorro. The dashing swordsman was a bit disappointed with the current state of his country as well as that of its heroes. No longer of the charismatic kind, they have been replaced with tough and gritty characters such as Machete. Nevertheless, he suspects that Isador also seeks a better Mexico.

    Ivy Valentine
Isabella "Ivy" Valentine, Goddess of Whip Swords (Daughter of Cervantes)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ivyscvi_5.png

    Kisuke Uzuki
Kisuke Uzuki, The Celestial Wielder of Blood-Thirsting Blades (Kanbei)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kisuke_muramasa.png
  • Lesser God with any of his other 107 swords. Greater God with Oboro Muramasa
  • Symbol: A katana or nodachi and its sheath crossed together and seven skulls
  • Theme Music: Tacit Understanding
  • Weapon of Choice: His 108 Demon Blades, including the Oboro Muramasa
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Portfolio: Amnesiac Anti-Hero, Wielder of Demon Blades, Oboro Style, Ninja, Scarf of Asskicking, Sir Swears-a-Lot, Soul Fusion, Dead All Along, Mental Time Travel, Walking the Earth.
  • Domains: Swords, Ninjas, Heroes
  • Heralds: Momohime Kagami and Jinkuro Izuna
  • Allies: Odin, Artoria Pendragon, Ryu Hayabusa, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Homura and the Crimson Squad, Dust
  • Enemies: Soul Edge (and Nightmare due of that), Arachne, Aya Shameimaru, Yuugi Hoshiguma, Nyotengu
  • Opposes: Anyone who wields a Muramasa (or demonic blades in general)
  • Ascended into the Pantheon after gods noticed that he can wield many swords what thirst for blood without succumbing to their will thanks to the mastery over the Oboro Style. He would have ascended with Momohime, but after discovering that her skills come from being possessed by the ronin Jinkuro, who always ends up in some sort of situation no matter what path he and Momohime takes, two of which being Kisuke's fault, making her unable to ascend with him.
  • He has one of largest collections of weapons in the Pantheon, having about 108 Demon Blades. Aside of having different attributes, all of them are extremely sharp, being able to cut almost anything, like demons, dragons, gods and even a soul out of some one's body without damaging the body itself. Unfortunately, they break a lot, and where he can fix them by sheathing the broken blade, he has an unofficial title of God of Breakable Weapons.
    • However, the rest of those cannot compare to his last Demon Blade, the Oboro Muramasa, which is sharp enough to allow him to cut through fate itself, allowing him to transfer him memory and the blade into his past self.
  • Is trying to get his hands on the grand-daddy of all cursed swords, the Soul Edge, so that he can expend the evil within it, leaving behind just the sword, just like what he intends to do with Kuzuryuu Muramasa. Considering that he would most likely be able to resist Soul Edge's influence, the Soul Edge wants absolutely nothing to do with him, and may be AFRAID of him.
  • He seems to have a bad habit of accidentally walking into women taking a bath in hot springs (or women walking into him while he is taking a bath). Fortunately he has managed consistently avoid Pervert Revenge Mode. He does wonder if Sun Wukong is messing with him as he usually is accompanied with monkeys as he goes to take a bath.
  • Yusuke Fujisaki once tired to have a Boke and Tsukkomi Routine with him due of having two guys who sounds the same doing one being brilliant. Kisuke offered to be the "Straight-the-hell-out-of-here Man".
  • One of few people he can be genuinely nice to is Arturia. The only reason is that hearing her talk bring him memories, but refuses to say anything further. Only further hint he gives is that he wonders if she has ever carried a bow.
    • However, where their relation is just a man protecting a royalty out of personal reasons, some gods at House of Love have tried matching them together. Kisuke sometimes mutters to himself that "why he had to ask help from that kitsune in the first place..."
  • He once visited Bahamut as a way to find out if he was mad for a possibility that he beat some sense to what he assumes is one of his avatars, though Bahamut did not take offense to that. He is already after many different youkai, or creatures what are closely related to some youkai, just in case. He is also keeping his eyes out for Cerberus and Great Grey Wolf Sif, in case they turn out to be as bad as that damned dog god Inugami.
    • He also gathered enough courage to tell Tokugawa Ieyasu that he killed one of his descendants. However, after Ieyasu heard why he did it, he forgave him for his actions, feeling ashamed how one of his descendants would turn out to be so evil.
  • If you were to ask him why he has a dislike for anyone else who wields a demonic blade, he wouldn't really tell you. The only thing he knows is that he feels like he made a promise to destroy all blades made by Muramasa. Of course he is doing this so that no one ends up being corrupted by those blades.
  • At first, he tried to attack Homura because he wanted to destroy her Engetsuka, thinking it was a Demon Blade. However, after they found out that the both of them are degenerate ninjas out to destroy greater evil forces, he let her go and he is now an ally of sort to the Crimson Squad.
  • There is an interesting reason why he isn't called a god. When he realized that in one timeline, he went ahead and lashed out at Amitabha for letting Torahime die before she would complete her mission and as such, he isn't worthy of being called a god.

    Orie "Harada" Ballardiae
Orie Ballardiae, Goddess of Rapiers (Orie Harada, The Fifth Executor, Rank Five Executor, Orie Valadier, Orie Paladia, Licht Kreis Executioner)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/79deb123cf34663d6f157a14b0f30b11.png
  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: Orie's rapier, the Guardian of Law and Order
  • Theme Song: Purity and Strictly
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Portfolio: Light 'em Up, Royal Rapier, Kick Chick, Guardian Entity, To Be Lawful or Good, Lady of War, Hair Antennae, Curtains Match the Window, Parental Abandonment
  • Domains: Protection, Combat, Strength
  • Allies: Eren Jeager, Emilia Justine, Shiki Tohno, Riki, any good Jojo and Persona deities, Aila Jyrkiäinen, Hsien-Ko, Tsubaki Yayoi, Noel Vermillion, Makoto Nanaya, Mitsuru Kirijo, Weiss Schnee, Kirin Toudou
  • Enemies: Merkava, Yuuki Terumi
  • Rival: Chaos Knight
  • Despite her attacks not doing very much damage individually, between comboing her rapier, kicks and not-stand, Orie can quickly rack up the pain.
  • Orie is allies with Shiki Tohno due to sharing a lot of similarities with a friend of his named Ciel such as being a part of a secret organization, blue hair and blue eyes and both being executors. Although, Orie is rather indifferent to curries.
    • This is also how Orie became friends with Tsubaki Yayoi as Orie shares similarities with her too and due to becoming friends with Tsubaki, Orie became friends with Noel and Makoto too.
    • Despite having no interest in joining the Poly Racks, Orie makes Noel very jealous due to the size of her assets.
    • Orie's voice reminds the three of them of Mai Natsume.
    • After Orie heard how much shit Terumi put Noel, Makoto and Tsubaki through, she wants to see him punished both as an upholder of Law and Justice but also as their friend.
  • Orie was absolutely pissed when she found out Merkava ascended in tandem with her but was also strangely glad because she can still avenge her parents' death. Many deities don't know that it still isn't technically confirmed that he killed them, though Merkava himself admitted he's never seen another void capable of sentient thought or communication.
  • Orie had heard stories about how there were no good gods in the House of Hatred and Rancor, so she was very surprised to find Eren Jeager and Emilia Justine, two deities with similar backstories as herself.
  • There are many popular theories as to what Orie's yellow Guardian Entity that fights with her is. Some say it's her Persona, some say it's her Stand. Orie hasn't confirmed either of these theories.
  • Orie finds it odd how much she sounds like Aila Jyrkiäinen and Hsien-ko, but she doesn't have any issues with being friends with them.
  • Many gods believe that a match between a deity whose damage is fixed and a deity whose damage is random would be an interesting fight to see.

    Prohyas and Vambre Warrior
At Warriors For Hire Headquarters, BECOME AS GODS!

Prohyas and Vambre Warrior, Divine Wielders of Oddly-Shaped Swords (Warriors for Hire | Prohyas: Matron of Honor, P-Hammer, Pro Bono, Accessory Jones, The Goofy Gladiator, Prohyas Robert Warrior, The Human Magisword Bag | Vambre: Vim-Vam, Vams, Vambre Marie Warrior, The Bookish Brute, Vam-Buritto Grande Supremo )

Left: Prohyas, Right: Vambre
  • Lesser Deities
  • Symbol: Their Magiswords. Alternatively, their "Warriors for Hire" sign
  • Theme Song: The Mighty Magiswords Theme Song (extended version)
  • Alignment: Neutral Good with heavy bouts of Chaotic
  • Portfolio: Brother–Sister Team, Wielders of Swords with unique shapes and are usually only good for one specific function, Their Surnames Really are "Warrior", Sibling Rivalry, Bag of Holding, Calling Your Attacks, Joke Weapon, Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy, Autonomous Organs (Brain for Vambre, Stomach for Prohyas), Incompetent At Doing Things Without Magiswords
  • Weapons:
  • Domains: Swords, Siblings, Skillsets, Collections
  • Herald: Grup, their dragon pet/housekeeper
  • Allies:
  • Enemies: Audrey II (especially for Prohyas), Gilgamesh Dr. Facilier (especially for Vambre), anyone who covets their Magiswords enough to steal them
  • Fear: Vergil Sparda
  • It was a slow day at the Warriors for Hire headquarters ever since their final episode. That was until Radicles returned, this time voluntarily to see Witchy Simone again, whom he had befriended during his time in Lyvsheria, and this time with his friend Kaio "K.O." Kincaid, who tangentially heard of the Warriors through him. Rad was pretty cool with the Warriors essentially abducting him from his universe via the Legendary Hyperspace Magisword, and he did get the Fistful of POW Magisword from Prohyas during his time there, so he decided to return the favor when he and K.O. were browsing untaken tropes. They also sent an invite to the Pantheon.
    • With a new realm open, and by extension prospective work available, as well as adventures galore, the Warriors immediately jumped at the offer, packed what stuff they had, and departed for the Trope Pantheons, where they were shortly ascended for their collection of oddly-shaped Magiswords. And with their show cancelled, there was no need to worry too much about leaving too much behind (though as Princess Zange's to-go mercenaries, they do return to Lyvsheria sometimes to heed her call).
  • A new Warriors for Hire headquarters was shortly set up as their temple, which possesses—apart from the basic commodities of the old HQ—a gallery full of images of the most impractically-shaped swords across all of fiction. And with all of the things that happen in the Pantheon, there's no shortage of mercenary work, even for the Warrior siblings, and there's no rent to pay, though cleanups will still have to be done by the duo (or by hiring cleaners). As for advertising, to keep from going too far again that Grup had to stop them, they're forced to sign up at the mercenary guild Pantheonic Soldiers of Fortune to get work.
  • APPLIES TO BOTH!:
    • They have a massive collection of Magiswords acquired throughout their adventures in Rhyboflavin, which are stored in compact forms inside pouches specially for Magiswords. "Upgraded" pouches were provided to further minimize rummaging, prevent folks from swiping them, and digital catalogs (that keep track of the pouches' contents) were also offered so that an ally can check which of the Warriors' Magiswords would be best useful for the situation.
      • There's also a return-to-hand system applied to all their Magiswords so that if any of them get lost in the heat of battle, they can easily be called back. In the event a Magisword gets broken (which shouldn't be possible as Magiswords are established to be unbreakable*), sentient ones get revived at the House of Life and Death, and the rest…well, the system is still in progress.
      • Despite their name, very few Magiswords are capable of being used as actual swords. A Magisword is more accurately compared to a Magic Wand, being used to summon things or manipulate existence.
    • When they need to travel fast, the Warriors have Hoverswords for the job, but these cannot function on non-solid surfaces, such as water, and they perform poorly over rocky surfaces, limiting their use. There's also the Rad Rocket Magisword, though it can be unreliable. The Dolphin Magisword can be used for uncontrollable water travel, but it's exclusive to Prohyas. With some ingenuity, Vambre once made a makeshift boat with a celery stalk summoned by the Celery Magisword and the Blow Dryer Magisword as the motor. And other Magiswords can be used in all sorts of creative ways.
    • As someone who likes swords, Fighter McWarrior became an instant friend of theirs and was even allowed to borrow a few of their Magiswords, which he occasionally uses to great and impossible effect.
    • In regards to other Cartoon Network deities, they've met a few of them so far.
      • Finn was easily enamored by their collection of weaponry and has even borrowed a few Magiswords during fights together.
      • Pearl is exasperated by their ineptitude at swordplay despite their capability otherwise via their Magiswords' abilities. After one thing led to another, and then to another, two one-on-one matches were hosted in the House of Weapons: Pearl vs. Vambre, and Connie vs. Prohyas. Needless to say, despite the Warriors' wide arsenal not making it a cakewalk for the Crystal Gems, the student and master managed to hand the siblings' asses to them.
      • While Samurai Jack can respect their heroism, he finds their… deficiency in other aspects important in battle a real concern.
    • For mysterious reasons, a few Magiswords that they have yet to collect have started popping up all over the Pantheon, and once the jobs with them as rewards started appearing, the Warriors immediately gunned for them whenever they can. That said, given that some Magiswords are actually pretty damn useful, those jobs usually get taken by others, and they end up going for the less useful ones, but that's not a matter of concern for them; they're Magisword collectors, after all.
    • As a result of their… general performance in sword battles, the Warrior siblings have been forced to attend Elysium Academy to learn proper swordsmanship (for times when they either might be deprived of their Magiswords, or their powers be nullified) puzzle-solving skills (Magiswords are admittedly useful for specific situations), strategies (besides barging in, and barging in from an unexpected angle), and other important life lessons.
      • Training them used to be surprisingly difficult, until a strange means of motivation came in the form of Vergil Sparda of all people. Not for any actual nice reason, but because he's embarrassed with the idea that they would be considered swordsmen. In fact, for the first few weeks ever since he encountered them, he routinely curb-stomped the duo each time he crossed paths with them and if he had the time. His brother Dante eventually approached the pair one day and gave this hypothesis.
      • Another incentive to train is the fact that despite all the cool stuff in the Pantheon, Magiswords weren't among them until now, which means despite their recent appearance all over the Pantheon, most everybody who wants one will be gunning for the Warriors, because the Pantheon won't tolerate them raiding Lyvsheria to get Magiswords there (even if they were to buy them). FF!Gilgamesh is on the top of that list, and thanks to his multiversal travels, he's shown to have a few Magiswords already! He often attempts to challenge them for their Magiswords, and it's become a hassle to have to keep running from him. A shame, since they could've been friends otherwise as fellow Magisword collectors, of which they are more alone in than before. Sure, there are those who now desire Magiswords, but not to the same degree as the Warriors.
      • After evaluating them for class at Elysium, Byleth was startled at their Fs across the board except for Swords (F+), Brawling (E+), Reason (C), and Faith (E). Given Es are lowest rank one can get in Byleth's class, it really says something about their ineptitude at non-Magisword matters. The Fódlan professor has since become dedicated to making sure that these two become the best Warriors they can actually be.
    • Eventually, they decided they would send a majority of their Magiswords to the Treasury to keep them out of everybody's hands. They still have plenty in their pouches for any situation.
    • They are aware of the Narrator when he does his thing to them, and find him less fun, less energetic, and more obnoxious than the one they're used to. That said, he sometimes actually knows what Magisword is best to use, so they do listen to him sometimes.
    • It was a surprise for them to learn that dragons outside of Lyvsheria aren't lethally hydrophobic, and that some are even aquatic by nature.
    • During one mission, the Warriors had a run-in with Lina Inverse, who had a weird sense of deja vu upon seeing them. To her, Prohyas looked a bit like her companion Gourry, and a little bit of Vambre's outfit mirrored her own (and was jealous of her bust size), though she'd say it was more in line with Celes Chere.
    • During an emergency planning session, they perform a Warrior Huddle, though other folks tend to somehow "sneak in" several times.
    • Ever since their numerous shenanigans at the Dino Kingdom in Lyvsheria, just in case, the Warriors are in the banlist for the Great Valley. The Gang of Seven themselves don't have too much problems with the Warriors themselves, though.
      • As for other dinosaurs, Rexie and the Raptor Pack behave as they usually would, Sharptooth would just try to eat them, and Indominus Rex and the Indoraptor would give them a bloody thrashing and gnashing when they can.
    • With the events of "Grup Jam", the Warriors got acquainted with the Looney Tunes and Michael Jordan, since they essentially followed the same story beats as Space Jam. It also surprised them that "basketball" is actually a thing.
    • Memory modifiers, especially those who do so with reckless abandon, are a sore spot for them, given Nohyas had been doing that to them for years before Prohyas claimed the Selective Memory Magisword from him. It sits in the Treasury with the other Magiswords.
    • Speaking of that Selective Memory Magisword incident, one of Nohyas's fabrications sounded familiar to someone, and they eventually encountered Prince Adam a.k.a. He-Man.
    • When they thought they heard Hoppus's old friend Danelda, they checked it out, only to find Amethyst. After mentioning who she was, the Crystal Gem decided to shapeshift into a toon rabbit for laughs.
    • In the event that a giant monster threat is around and none of the usual Humongous Mecha or Kaiju heroes are around (or are in need of some assistance), the Warriors can pitch in via the Legendary Swordmecha Magisword. Once a day, it can transform into a giant robot that the wielders can pilot from inside (complete with Super Sentai suits), and can use powers from their other Magiswords via special ports (which can also accept barrels of broccoli soup, and presumably other materials, but neither Warrior is considering it). This earned the Warriors an honorary spot in the GUAG Robot War Division.
    • Ever since having had to go to Galacton to rescue a friend from being legally hunted, the Warriors despise all forms of obsctructive bureaucracy, especially waiting lines with numbers, and especially when they become outright non-sensical such as going past hexadecimals, going into decimal numbers, or using non-numbers.
    • Every 25th day of a certain month (most probably not December), the Warriors celebrate a holiday called Sphinxmas, a desert-themed Christmas-esque holiday. During Sphinxmas, they take a day off from adventuring and return to Lyvsheria to the Barren Faceland, acquire the Flying Sphinx Magisword, and summon the majestic Spifficus the Sphinx. And despite the ridiculousness of it, the holiday is real.
    • Have quite the terrible manners in the last royal party they've been to (in Rhyboflaven Castle), but it turns out Princess Zange had been counting on that (as an excuse for renovating in response to the destruction they might cause). Just like the first Grand Galloping Gala the Mane Six attended ended up being a mess that Princess Celestia had no problems with.

  • PROHYAS ONLY!:
    • To keep his Stomach from rebelling, taking over his body, and going on a rampage for healthy foods, strict diet regiments were enforced on Prohyas to ensure this doesn't lead him to munching on food that doesn't belong to him, or any sentient vegetables. And nobody wants to see him go after DK's Banana Hoard; Knuckles already paid the price for it once with his life. And that means having his share of veggies alongside his usual junk food.
    • Is prone to talking in his sleep. Every time he does so, it implies a dream revolving around a "unicorn court", seemingly acting as a lawyer.
    • During long journeys, Prohyas would often play his Accordion Magisword. It can generate melodies by tapping into the brain of its wielder, and he's pretty decent in making songs with it.
      • This got the attention of "Weird Al" Yankovic, who's also known to play the accordion. The musician occasionally gets him to join in a duet.
    • Dislikes rabid fangirls ever since Glori came to their lives. Especially those who beg to be rescued by the Warriors and get themselves in danger just to make it happen; there are far better rescuers who would do the job sooner and better.
    • Ever since the disaster with the Carnivorous Plant Magisword, not only does Prohyas not like sentient evil weapons, but also especially carnivorous plants such asAudrey II. That said, he's since managed to tame his Carnivorous Plant Magisword thanks to advice from his mother.
    • Is often sleeveless no matter what shirt he wears, mainly due to his arm muscles destroying the sleeves of whatever shirt he puts on, or so he claims, given that he's worn fencing gear without issue.
    • Ever since the incident with Rhyboflavin's Board of Opinions, Prohyas has been banned from using message boards for his own sanity, even if he has since gotten over it by the end. That said, he often gets troll text messages from the Trollkaiger and, less often, the Itazura Griefers (under anonymous numbers, of course).
    • In addition to Dophin Magisword being his favorite, Prohyas likes all dolphins to the point of attending a convention themed on them. He absolutely
    • It is a well-accepted fact that he can fix his hairdo just by blowing on his thumb. Unless it's fully shaved off, as discovered when Vambre resorted to that in order to combat his Acquired Situational Narcissism, in which case a lot more effort is required.
    • One time, Prohyas took a bet with somebody that he can go for an entire day without whining, with a very rare Magisword as a reward. Naturally, the Itazura Griefers caught wind of this and spent all day trying to rile him up and took fun in seeing him try to contain himself. However, just as they thought they managed to reach his breaking point, instead of vocally exploding, he entered a sort of zen state of mind called Office Job Prohyas, who is immune to all forms of annoyance, which eventually made the Griefers give up and leave. However, once he reverted to his default state after a while, the Trollkaiger (one of whom made the bet with Prohyas in the first place) then stepped in to do their thing… and got treated to the worst whine they've ever heard, and were shortly subject to a multi-Magisword rampage by him, even doing Super Teamwork Combos solo.
    • Ever since the time he wanted to ride a goat, upon seeing the Goat, Vambre was very quick to stop her brother from even considering the idea of riding that mammal, given how much mayhem she causes on a regular basis, especially when she's working with the Goose. Vambre and several others have joined in their diligence to keep him away.
    • Ever since he got dunked multiple times at a dunking booth for a fair, he's developed a phobia of getting dunked (and hasn't fully recovered by the end of the episode he developed it), and when he heard some offhand mention of what Sans does to punish evildoers he feels like punishing, he's elected to avoid the short skeleton by all means possible.

  • VAMBRE ONLY!:
    • Having had her Brain suffer literal Ear Worms once, she understands Anger's frustration with them.
    • One very easy way to cheese off Vambre (and get her after you) is to write a Veronica Victorious fanfic and pass it off as an official work. The Trollkaiger (and, less often, Itazura Griefers) have field days writing trashy novels for her to see.
    • Has a tendency to make puns, but only when it's hers. Papyrus gets annoyed whenever he hears one, and she's among those he would rather not stick around.
    • Has a pathological aversion to pants, to the point of extreme violence when forced to wear trousers of any kind, citing a restriction of mobility, chafing on her legs, and going aginst her style. Diving Suits generated by the Diving Suit Magisword are an exception, though, and so might other full but not tight suits.
    • Due to her a traumatic incident with a scurry of squirrels back in her childhood, on top of fearing them, she also opposes all deities pertaining to squirrels such as Squirrel Girl and Ratatoskr. As for Makoto Nanaya, who merely has a giant squirrel tail and matching ears, she's just unbearably nervous, and can be calm enough to hold a conversation with her if Prohyas is around.
    • Occasionally fancies herself as an ace detective whenever she feels like there's a mystery to be solved. Prohyas can attest that this is not the case, as she tends to look at mostly irrelevant stuff, and can be aggressive in negotiations (expecially if they're the wrong guy).
    • Due to her experiences in a special dungeon with checkpoints, as well as possessing a necklace that retains her memory after respawn, Vambre can understand what it's like to be stuck in a time loop. And because Death Is Cheap in the Pantheon, Prohyas can now almost experience the same thing.
    • Used to be unable to admit to her admiration for Piggy Pie Jones (a stage show for kids), but is now able to.
    • Avoids or goes wild against Facilier (with Prohyas) like he's a plague on society ever since getting accidentally turned into a frog (by a friend, but still). In turn, Tiana and Naveen can understand how that's like, though they do see that Vambre had it worse in that she couldn't even talk.
  • "Welcome to Warriors for Hire, where your issue is our mission!"

    Raven Branwen
Raven Branwen, Goddess of Creating Portals With Her Sword and Detachable Dust Swords (Huntress, Leader of the Branwen Tribe, Bird Mom, Spring Maiden)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raven_amity_arena.png
  • Lesser Goddess on the surface but actually is Intermediate as the Spring Maiden
  • Symbol: Her Gears symbol, and her hunter mask
  • Theme Song: "All Things Must Die" (Shared with Cinder); alternatively, this
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral, later gets shades of Chaotic Good
  • Portfolio: Byronic Heroine, Only Cares About Surviving, Remnant's Only Samurai-Based Warrior, Being Named with Her Brother, After Birds, Might Makes Right, Strong and Skilled, Uses Her Semblance To Watch Over Yang
  • Domains: Swords, Bandits, Portals, Birds, Ice
  • Herald: Vernal
  • Superior: Monty Oum
  • Allies: Velvet Crowe
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork With: Roman Torchwick, Akame
  • Rivals: Hakumen, Esdeath, Samuel Rodrigues, Vergil
  • Enemies:
  • Opposed by: Yang Xiao Long (Her Daughter), Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, Ragna, Ryuko Matoi and Senketsu, Satsuki Kiryuin, Pearl (Steven Universe), Nine the Phantom
  • Pities: Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader
  • Feared by: Neopolitan, The Blood Gulch Crew (apart from Sarge, who appears to love her)
  • In the land of Remnant was a small tribe of bandits led by Yang's mother and former member of Team STRQ: Raven Branwen. With her reputation as a former hunter and currently leader of a small group of fugitives, she quickly familiarized herself with those respective houses in the Pantheon while knowing she was dreading seeing her daughter once again along with her twin brother.
  • Raven was given the same ability as her brother to become a bird (in her case the raven), but while Qrow appreciates this gift she considered it a terrible curse. Along with her fighting skills with her dust swords, her semblance can allow her to transport herself towards everyone she has a close bond with such as her daughter Yang. Of course, the real secret behind her strength that drove back even Neo was the fact she is the real Spring Maiden. After killing the previous maiden and stealing her power, the former Huntress used Vernal as a fake scapegoat to fool everyone else into believing she was the real one.
  • After her last confrontation with Yang and her team, she had expressed remorse over the fact she'd been in hiding all this time, not willing to fight Salem with everyone else, and overall being a very uncaring parent to her child. As expected, the blonde-haired member of Team RWBY practically wanted nothing to do with Raven feeling shame about the life choices she had made as her mother.
  • Qrow also could barely bring himself to even consider her a sibling after the stunt that she tried pulling in Haven Academy by taking his life. While she tried killing Cinder in the ensuing battle, the rift between them seemed further apart than ever despite being flesh and blood.
    • Despite her issues with Salem's flunkies, she is willing to cooperate with Cinder's accomplice in the Pantheon (much to Team RWBY's confusion), Roman Torchwick. Much like the crimelord, Raven is willing to do just about anything in order to survive in Remnant over dying at Salem's hands and Roman was perfectly fine with that philosophy.
    • As for Cinder, however, the exact opposite feelings were had for the disciple of Salem who took away Vernal during their last battle. Raven was ready to cut off Cinder's head ignoring the rules set by the other gods while the defeated Fall Maiden wanted payback as well plotting to get rid of another enemy on her long list of adversaries.
    • For mostly the same reasons Raven deems Cinder a complete monster Adam is someone she also hates with a passion for his racism and hatred for mankind, even mocking him for becoming the very thing he vowed to destroy under the banner of the White Fang.
  • Once the Blood Gulch Crew learned another RWBY deity ascended, they went to see Raven, who in turn thought it was an invasion and threatened them. Washington responded saying they had no ill intentions, but hearing Ozpin's voice triggered Raven the wrong way and she downright yelled at them to no approach her again. They have kept the distance ever since... except Sarge, who was downright aroused by her violent behavior and is constantly sending bouquets of roses with shotgun shells to her shrine hoping Raven will someday date him.
  • Many debate on how good of a parent Raven truly is to Yang, since unlike with Ragyo who disregarded her own daughter as a failure she at least came to her aid once as Raven despises Ragyo for being a lot like Salem, but unlike someone like Nine who at one point seemed like a caring individual Raven has only become colder over the years.
  • Ragna figured out how easily Raven let such pride consume much of her compassion and kindness towards others long ago. While he can admit she isn't the worst kind of mom in the Pantheon, despite Raven's attractive figure she offers less as a mother-figure, something Raven takes no shame in admitting both about her outfit and parental history.
  • Despite how Velvet might feel about Raven's motherly behavior, she does admire the fact she finally stood up against those who've been haunting her life feeling reminded of her own path of revenge. Raven also was surprised by how similar the former human turned Therion looked like herself.
    • This also extends to the former Imperial Assassin of Night Raid who feels likes she's been a coward in hiding for too long when she could have easily joined to fight against Salem. Akame knows that Raven has a heavy burden on her shoulders protecting her tribe, and yet, she can't forgive her treatment of her own child feeling reminded of her own past before joining the rebellion. As for Esdeath she merely finds the Spring Maiden a good potential challenge much like the Fall Maiden Cinder while admiring Raven's idealism of the world.
  • Charles wondered if Raven could agree with his reasons for believing in a world without masks considering they both thought they were strong enough to survive, but she refused to join his side feeling that his plan and methods were too extreme and much too similar to Salem.
  • Pearl declined to comment on her feelings towards the bandit leader, but she was surprised to learn about her ability to become a raven.
  • Vergil along with "Sam" quickly stepped up to challenge Raven to battle wondering how skilled she was in battle compared to him, Also, the half-human demon is in the possession of Yamato, the O-Katana that can cut through dimensions similar to how Raven moves around the Pantheon. Since Raven's blades and fighting style matched the hired swordsman of Desperado Enforcement. He also complimented her on her beautiful hair, but somewhat felt disappointed to hear that she was married, even if the relationship was very much strained.
  • Kaito Kumon and Anakin Skywalker both might understand where Yang's mother comes from in some aspects. Anakin doesn't think Raven should justify her aloof nature around Yang. As for Kaito however, he believes the strongest should protect, and those who are strong but target the weak are scum, a complete opposite to Raven's worldview and that is simply...
  • "The weak die, the strong live. Those are the rules."
