Greater Gods

    Nathaniel Adam/Captain Atom
Nathaniel Christopher Adam, God of Military Superheroes (Captain Atom, Monarch)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captain_atom_7313.jpg
  • Greater God, Overdeity as Monarch
  • Symbol: His Chest Insignia
  • Alignment: Lawful Good with neutral tendencies
  • Portfolio: Chrome Champion Captain Superhero with Energy Absorption, Flying Firepower, Radiation Immune Energy Being, Super-Strength, Power Incontinence, Married a former villain,
  • Domains: Law, Good, War, Air, Strength
  • Allies:
  • Enemies: Lex Luthor, Darkseid, Regime Superman
  • Complicated Relationship: The House of War
  • Not to be Confused With: Jon Osterman/Dr. Manhattan
  • Out of all the superheroes in the Pantheon, Nathaniel Adam stands out over his military background. Normally, such people are frowned upon in the community as their tendencies to follow orders from their superiors flies in the face of those who prefer to act on their own accord. Even then, Nathaniel Adam was thrusted into the community as a spy for the US military in order to learn their secrets. Eventually, Nathaniel actually liked the idea and ended the relationship. It turns out he was blackmailed into the job, one the Justice League helped him overcome.
  • While the two may clash over differences in how to go about their business, Captain Atom and Superman have maintained a steady relationship. The Man of Steel is worried about Atom's ability to emit red sun radiation though, which is capable of weakening him.
    • Not surprisingly, the other more tyrannical Superman in the Pantheon put Captain Atom on his list of people who could pose a problem for him in the near future.
  • Has better luck with Batman. The Caped Crusader may be hard on him at times, but he liked working with the captain during his time in Justice League International.
    • Speaking of which, it was this particular tenure in his career that not only introduced him to many other superheroes, but reintroduced the audience of his nature. It was also the time when some of his co-workers found out his true origins. They have since promised not to reveal it to any other person. Kookiness aside, Captain Atom enjoyed his time there and yearns for a chance to bring the group back together.
    • Was considered for God of Chrome Champions, but that was occupied by teammate John Henry Irons. Nathaniel decided not to push him aside to gain more heroes.
  • Is the second superhero from the Charlton Comics world to gain a seat in the Pantheon. The Question had figured it was only a matter of time before at least one of his compadres made the jump over to the Pantheon. While not as close as before, the two manage to keep in touch. In one instance, the two nearly came to blows many times over before settling their differences.
    • May well have Alan Moore to thank for saving them from obscurity. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths. While their world was on the verge of disappearing, Alan Moore wanted to give them a final hurrah in a miniseries. DC ultimately decided to keep the group, which Moore creating his own superhero group known as the Watchmen. Doctor Manhattan is believed to have been based on Captain Atom, one that is far more powerful. Intrigued by this, Manhattan came over to meet Atom for the first time. After asking the superhero some questions, Manhattan disappeared never to talk to him again.
  • Has a rather unique take on DC villains. He takes on the likes of Lex Luthor and Darkseid on a daily basis, but never did he think that he would end up marrying one of them. One of his most prominent villains was Plastique, a bomb expert using her expertise to open banks. The two had a surprising amount of chemistry between them. It got to the point that she reformed and ended up marrying him. The two have been a couple ever since. Selina Kyle, the patron saint of such relationships with heroes, found it amusing that a soldier would skirt the law like so.
  • Sees himself as a friendly rival to the Husky Russkie Colossus, though the two are actually friends. Neither are interested in bringing out any Cold War memories. Still, American and Russian detractors from both sides hope for the two to come to blows.
  • As a Military Superhero, Nathaniel struggles to balance his work in the Air Force with his work as a superhero. He actually has someone that can relate to that. Fellow captain Captain America agreed to help him walk that tight rope. Steve too had to make choices between the government and the superhero community, many of which put him at odds with the United States.
  • While the United States government does not have a stake in the Pantheon, many of its members do in the House of War. They see Captain Atom as a potential asset to fight their wars. Nathaniel is hesitant to get involved into that sort of business though he does occasionally lend aid.
  • Would rather not mention the time when he became the unstable Monarch. During this time, he was one of the most powerful beings in the DC Universe and could even go toe-to-toe with Superboy Prime. The GUAG Superhero Division have been hard at work to make sure that he doesn't turn back to that monstrosity. Melkor saw that development as an opportunity to recruit a potential ally into the fold.
  • Can also be seen in the Hall of Soldier Archetypes (N To Z).

  • Respects: Archer/EMIYA
  • Conflicting Opinion: Metro Man, Shirou Emiya, Kiritsugu Emiya, The Boys, Starlight
  • Special Relationship: Lord Recluse, Deities of Greek Mythology
  • Statesman is arguably the greatest Superhero ever in the history of Paragon City, justly representing and defending the city from the forces of the Arachnos Organization headed by Lord Recluse. Statesman made his presence known during the last years of the 1910s, later establishing a Superhero faction known as the Freedom Phalanx in the 1930s after finding and uniting enough heroes to forge an alliance with. Ever since then, Statesman has remained the greatest defender of Paragon City and his world's greatest definition of a Superhero.
    • In the past however, Statesman was a man known as Marcus Cole who lived in an adopted family composed of his foster brother and best friend Stefan Richter and his father Rudolf. Marcus and Stefan enlisted to fight in World War I during which Marcus was caught in a Mustard Gas attack and became fatally ill. At the same time however, Marcus realized the existence of the Well of the Furies and together with Stefan, managed to locate the island o Praxide. They succeeded when the two discovered the island and the well hidden under the Fountain of Zeus. The drank from the well, instantly curing Marcus's illness and endowing them with superpowers. They later opened Pandora's Box which released humankind's imagination onto the world, effectively creating a "Golden Age" of superheroes, but also destroying Praxide. After returning to Paragon City, Marcus discovered his superhuman abilities and began to fight crime using them, alongside adopting the moniker of Statseman. Conversely however, Stefan, thought to have been missing, took to joining Arachnos, then a mafia crime group conglomerate before reforming it into a Supervillain organization, relocating it to the Rogue Isles and renaming himself Lord Recluse, all to stick it to his best friend and declare himself Statesman's Arch-Enemy.
  • Statesman's first days in the Pantheon were actually rather odd. Upon his arrival via saving a group of citizens from a crime robbery, Statesman was confronted by Ochaco Uraraka, Tenya Iida and Shoto Todoroki who offered them their respects. However, Marcus ended up chiding them for actually taking far too long to stop a crime as basic as robbery. The respect turned into dismay as the three argued that Statesman wasn't sounding like what an inspirational hero would sound like. That said, Marcus was somewhat impressed by their powers, Todoroki's in general and tried offering them a place in the Freedom Phalanx, not aware of the presence of the UA High School. After realizing the latter, Marcus grinned and told them that they still have much to learn before departing. Since then, Uraraka, Iida and Todoroki have taken to bettering and refining their skills and awareness in their superhero work.
  • In time, Statesman became one of the Pantheon's most well-regarded and reliable superheroes. It helped in that Marcus was thoroughly dedicated in instilling hope and justice as much as he could. Aside from the UA, the Justice League and the Avengers have considered establishing relationships with Statesman and the Freedom Phalanx. Conversely, supervillains are beginning to establish more countermeasures now that another superhero like Statesman is going to make villain work difficult for them.
  • While he is beloved by much of the Pantheonic populace, those who know him personally are actually pretty critical of Statesman. Not because he's weak or because he's a knockoff, but because he comes off as being too self-centered and stubborn regarding his job. He may be a living embodiment of Lawful Good, but some privately think of him as egocentric and selfish to a fault. There's also the fact that Statesman is very critical and judgmental about superheroics and expects heroes to be lenient and live up to their status as much as they can, and in a very stern and critical fashion unlike Superman and Captain America.
  • When Statesman met Superman for the very first time, a lot of residents were hyping up on how the two were going to become best friends and tight partners-in-crime. Instead, the result turned out much more different than expected; Marcus respected Superman and his work as a superhero and the leader of the Justice League, but stated that with how villains have prospered in his world and the Pantheon, he should be doing a much better job in his work. Superman retorted by saying how Marcus isn't acting like how a traditional leader would and was sullen about how surprisingly self-centered he was about superheroics. This didn't bode too well for Marcus, but restrained himself long enough to establish a working relation with the Freedom Phalanx and the Justice League. Despite this however, Statesman and Superman aren't exactly fond of one another despite their roles as inspirational heroes who lead a team, but nonetheless would work together in regards to threats that could overwhelm them individually.
    • Despite his mixed feelings for Superman, Statesman has nothing but outright admiration and respect for the Samaritan and Spider-Man and he personally feels as if they embody heroism much better than Superman does. The two of them reciprocate his thoughts of them, though they've taken notice of how stubborn and one-track minded Statesman is, even for a hero.
    • Similarly, he also respects the Power Rangers and the Super Sentai for their efforts in protecting the innocent and saving the world countless times. He also extends these feelings towards the heroic Kamen Riders although he feels wary about the likes of Tenjuro Banno, Takeshi Asakura and Ryoma Sengoku. It doesn't help in that the former and latter remind him a bit too much of Lord Recluse in that both were scientists who use their intellect for evil.
  • Because of the alien invasion that led to the Rikti War, Statesman is a staunch opponent of Darkseid, who sees the Lord of Tyranny as a malevolent force far greater than even the Rikti could hope to possess. Even worse is Lord Recluse's alliance with Darkseid himself, hence causing Statesman to list the Lord of Tyranny high on his shit-list. The feeling is also mutual towards Thanos, who also leads a galactic army of aliens on his own.
  • When Statesman joined the Pantheon, the news of it incredibly overjoyed Lord Recluse. The last time, Statesman was killed by Darrin Wade, which drove Lord Recluse into mourning for his best friend-turned-nemesis. Now that he has resurfaced, the Arachnos Leader immediately declared his intent to take him on and has notified every villain in the Pantheon that Statesman is his and only his to fight and kill. For all their enmity, Lord Recluse has a deep-seeded respect and affection for his Arch-Enemy, and his return has made him feel more engaged than ever before.
  • Acknowledges the similarities between Lex Luthor and Lord Recluse when he met with the former at one point. He was also surprised to see that in one continuity, Lex and Clark Kent used to be close friends, much like Marcus and Stefan before they got their superpowers. Though unlike Stefan, Lex didn't exactly have the best parental support and played a role in him becoming the villain he is now. Statesman feels somewhat pitiful, but has made sure to not allow it to cloud his judgement towards Lex, viewing him as an enemy, first and foremost.
  • Statesman has a rather conflicted view on Metro Man. On one hand, he sees him as a capable hero and someone whom he would work with. On the other hand, he's not so approving about what he really wants to do with his life, but decides to allow it to pass nonetheless. He has a better working relationship with Megamind however and the two have come to working together against fighting Tighten. He's thought about even recruiting Megamind into the Freedom Phalanx, but given how Megamind likes to present himself as a villain openly, it seems like a difficult approach.
    • He's also had this mutual feeling towards Shirou Emiya. Statesman is impressed by the lengths that Shirou would go through to justify his heroic actions and he's respectful for him playing a role in taking down Gilgamesh. That said, he's not happy in that he prioritized his Servant, Artoria over his own goals and dreams, which Statesman felt was rather detrimental to Shirou's main approach in life. That said, he'll let it slide, given how he continuously proves himself to be a hero that would impress Statesman every now and then. That, and Statesman is actually allies with Artoria for her headstrong nature and her devotion to protecting her kingdom and it's inhabitants, which is parallel to Statesman's actions and reputation for the betterment of Paragon City and it's people. He also has a confliction opinion over Kiritsugu Emiya, mainly because Statesman thinks he was too extreme for a given definition of a hero, but does understand why he was so cynical to begin with. He would like to provide some aid and help to him, but he also understands Kiritsugu's desire to remain with his wife, Irisviel von Einzbern. This is something Statesman can attest to, given that he was also married and had a daughter with his wife.
      • On the other hand, Statesman is highly respectful of the Servant, Archer. He expressed surprise to learn of Archer's identity as a future iteration of Shirou, who much like him, had gotten jaded and cynical in their views on heroism and protecting the innocent. The two can relate to one another greatly and have taken arms to provide criticism towards heroes and warriors in an effort to make them better. That said, they'd also need to consider their choice of words, given how Superman is easily able to win over the hearts of others with his outspoken sense of idealism, a trait that Statesman and Archer would have some difficulty working on.
  • Statesman isn't exactly too trusting of The Boys, given their stance in combating against superheroes. While Hughie Campbell, Mother's Milk, Frenchie and the Female aren't hostile and are actually somewhat amicable, Statesman is right in his caution about Billy Butcher, who is opposed to heroes of all kinds, regardless of alignment and Statesman has been keeping wary of him. His viewpoint on the Seven, on the other hand, is nothing short of disappointment, seeing them as a disgraceful perversion regarding superheroics. He's grown to intensely dislike Homelander, given his sociopathic nature and tendencies, but his greatest enmity is towards Black Noir whose crimes and depravity far surpass most villains. The only member of the Seven that Statesman can tolerate is Starlight, and that's only because she's the only member to come off as genuinely heroic and Statesman feels somewhat pitiful about what Starlight had to go through as a member.
  • Has an amicable relationship with the Greek Gods, especially Zeus, given that one of Marcus's secret identity is directly named after the Greek King of the Gods. Zeus and the Greek Pantheon are pretty impressed by what Statesman had done with his new power and justly side by him. On the same spectrum, he's formed an enmity against Kratos for killing the Greek Gods. The Ghost of Sparta however couldn't care less and would much rather mind his own business.
    • Because of his connections to Greek Mythology, Statesman made quick friends with the Alexandra Sisters. He is currently seeking to induct Sophitia and Cassandra into the Phalanx at some point, but for now, he is eager to teach and train the sisters into becoming better heroes, though Sophitia would rather spend more time tending to her children, whereas Cassandra is willing to toughen up. Meanwhile he also made a quick friend with Billy Batson, another mortal being blessed by the powers of the Greek Pantheon and the two have been noted to hang out with one another, either during their superhero activities or when Billy simply wants to hang out with a fellow Greek-inspired hero.
  • Above all however, the one being Statesman loathes above all else in the Pantheon is the Plutonian. Primarily because he is an alien and the fact that he was a hero for entirely selfish reasons alongside causing misery and chaos for the hell of it, Statesman sometimes thinks of him as a far greater threat than Lord Recluse. While the latter wants to Take Over the World mainly due to his Darwinistic beliefs, the former would sunder the world into total misery and suffering, all because he wasn't being appreciated enough. It's to the extent that Statesman would join forces with Lord Recluse, just for the sole intent to take on the Plutonian. Lord Recluse has reciprocated, but only because he wants to make sure the Plutonian doesn't get to kill Statesman before he does.
  • Despite his gruff and somewhat critical nature about superheroics in general, it shouldn't be deterred that Statesman is a hero, first and foremost, at the end of the day. Like Superman and many other heroes, he will fight for the greater good and preserve hope to the Pantheon like he did for Paragon City. There's a reason the Grand United Alliance of Good sought him out when he made his mark and he hasn't hesitated to signal his alliance.
    • Another thing that must be addressed is that Statesman is not a jerk by choice. Given that he is way older than his looks suggest, his experiences would have had him witness numerous events that would render him to become critical and somewhat abrasive about the field of superheroics. That said, there are heroes who are far older than Statesman is and Marcus doesn't really use his experience to to explain his viewpoint. He's too fixated on being a superhero to really consider making justifications that could potentially become weaker overtime the more he uses it.
In 1929, a young explorer named Marcus Cole drank deeply from the legendary fountain of Zeus and was exposed to power of the Greek Gods. It was his...it was MY last day as a moral man. Those waters imbued me with Zeus' strength, power and spirit.

  • By the turn of the millenium, the folks at Image Comics were at a bad place. The Dark Age of Comic Books went bust on them. While Spawn remained, they needed a new comic to attract the masses. They got just the person in 2003. Codenamed Invincible, Mark Grayson became the new face for Image Comics for that decade. His story was one a Coming of Age Story that took a turn no person could have imagined. Nevertheless, his books had recently ended. While he was no longer the flagship of Image, Spawn, Alana and Marko decided to pool their resources to bring him over into the Pantheon.
    • There was a dispute for the title from Matt Garetty, a powerful user of telekinesis who was also vying for the title. Sad that he had blocked him out of the title, he settled for giving Matt a seat as the high priest. Mark also saw to it to train Matt in using his powers.
    • Matt and his friends would later manage to ascend themselves, much to Mark's joy. He would later choose a womann named Alison Green as his new high priestess.
  • Superman was present for his ascension, and it was a joyous occasion indeed. Mark was one of his premier followers for years given his initial optimism and similar powers. He now has the opportunity to properly team-up with a vast array of superheroes, something that has been a dream of his for years.
  • While not following the principle of The Cowl, he still thought Batman was pretty cool. Yet he does understand the kind of trauma the Dark Knight had to go through. While Invincible isn't exactly one of his favorite superheroes to hang out with, he does appreciate the sentiment. Both laid a memorial in Batman's temple in honor of Darkwing's death at the hands of Omni-Man.
  • Has Atom Eve to thank for helping him transition into the superhero lifestyle. The two soon became lovers and ultimately parents. Her recent discovery of her immortality showed that his wife will be with him for the rest of his life.
  • Like a few other superheroes, he was eager to become a superhero as soon as he gained his powers. Even with all the trauma he endured, he still encourages others to join the House of Heroes. While a pacifist, The Bard admired Mark's convictions.
  • Very few people can question why he hates Regime Superman so much: His own father, Omni-Man was one of his greatest generals before he found out he killed the Guardians of the Globe. After receiving a vicious No Holds Beatdown from him, he just left. But that wasn't the end. Soon, other Viltrumites tried to invade his world on multiple occasions. It took an alliance involving several other worlds to finally put down the threat once and for all. His father renounced his former faith to join his son... costing him his life in the process. A plaque detailing his complicated history can be found outside the temple.
    • Has only slightly more sympathy towards the Plutonian only because he only snapped before turning evil. He's not truly ready to forgive the former superhero for his crimes, though.
  • The only other people he hates as much as the two above are the Kankers as well as the subhouse of Tainted Love in general. The reasoning is also a personal one. One of the Viltrumites who stayed in earth wanted to birth a son from him. After he refused, she proceeded to rape him. The accuser later died in the final battle, but their son ended up being a superhero himself. Mark was glad to find other men such as Nightwing who underwent similar trauma but he still wants to raise awareness on the seriousness of male rape.
    • Red Sonja was impressed with his opposition and has sought to help him out in that regard. Not surprising as she too was a victim of rape.
    • Absolutely hates Griffith for putting Casca through a similar fate. Guts may not go far as to call him allies, but any enemy of Griffith is someone worthy of hanging around with him.
    • In some ways, his character growth has a similar trajectory with Avatar Korra. It took a lot of willpower for the two to overcome their pitfalls. Still, the two enjoy the company; Mark thinks her elemental powers are awesome while Korra is impressed with his strength.
  • In the end, he succeeded in defeating the Viltrumites once in for all. He and Atom ended up exploring other worlds to make amends for all his peoples' atrocities. The two later gave birth to a daughter named Terra. She was a handful at an early age, but grew up to become a wonderful daughter. Both his wife and daughter stay with him in the Pantheon.
  • Was happy to see his adventures got an animated adaptation, no matter if sharing a service with The Boys meant Billy Butcher now wants his head (the rest of the group likes him, and admire how he chose to stay a defender of Earth by refusing the call to join the Viltrumite invasion - while Butcher, ever opposing to "Supes", is not willing to trust someone with such a terrible heritage).

  • Enemies: The GUAE Trollkaiger (especially Enter), SHOCKER, Psycho Rangers, Ali Al-Saachez, Agent Smith, Venjix/Evox
  • Opposes: Sosuke Aizen (Ryuji only)
  • The Go-Busters, consists of Hiromu Sakurada, Ryuji Iwasaki, Yoko Usami, Masato Jin, and Beet J. Stag, are the 36th Super Sentai team who were employed by the Energy Management Center to defend the Earth from the dimensional threat called the Vaglass led by Messiah, and later Enter, before they managed to destroy Enter for good at the cost of Jin's own well-being. What's interesting enough is their battle suit is made of leather, which makes the team so unique to any Sentai groups.
  • Initially, Jin wasn't present in the group's ascension with only four active members were present. However, the House of Technology were managed to find a way to upgrade J's programming, enabling the Buddyloid to bring Jin's physical avatar to existence and it also brought joy to the team as they reunited once more as a full team.
  • At first, they're the only post-Jetman Sentai team, along with the ToQgers, that didn't have a Power Rangers counterpart, but rather, they have a Alternate Universe versions of themselves, which they're depicted as Lighter than their main universe counterparts. However, they finally gained their own Power Rangers counterpart a few years later. and thanks to that they also gain a new hatred for the villain of this season, Evox and a bigger hatred for him when it was revealed he was also Venjix, a computer virus who killed the majority of humanity in another season
  • There was a time that the Go-Busters, sans Jin and J, teaming-up with numerous Kamen Riders and Super Sentai heroes, including their first encounter with the Gokaigers, and Kamen Riders Fourze, Meteor, OOO, and Decade, in their battle against the combined forces of Dai-Shocker and Dai-Zangyack.
    • Also as a full team, in their second encounter with the Gokaigers, the two Sentai teams had team up once more in their battles against Enter, who had teamed up with the remnants of the Zangyack Empire before they foil their plans and finished the lasts of the empire for good.
  • The teams are also close friends with the Smile Pretty Cures since they also fight alongside them in the same period of time.
  • Each of the first 3 Go-Busters possess their own super powers at their disposal, Hiromu uses his Super-Speed ability which he can move at light speed, Ryuji has Super-Strength ability that allows him to cause a mini earthquake by hitting the ground, and Yoko uses her Power Jump ability which allows her to jump at incredible height along with her Power Kick ability which she can perform a Diving Kick to her target.
    • On the contrary, there is a drawback on Hiromu, Ryuji and Yoko's respective super powers. In Hiromu's case, one of them is involved with his childhood traumas whenever he sees an imagery of birds (notably a chicken), or hearing the Japanese word tori, Hiromu gets paralyzed. For Ryuji, whenever he uses his Super-Strength powers too much, he would go berserk to the point he can't tell friend or foe to his surroundings before he collapsed due to the strain on of his body. And for Yoko, she needs to eat anything that is sweet in order to maintain her stamina, without it she'll be immobilized.
      • Jin is also a special case since he's an avatar, he relies his transformation with his partner J. Without his partner, he can't transform.
  • Hiromu often competes with Souji Tendou, and to a lesser extent, Barry Allen, in a running race due to their abilities are similar to each other.
  • At one point, Hiromu tries to find his Buddyloid partner, Cheeda Nick, upon hearing his voice in the pantheon. However, he gets annoyed when he found out it was none other than Ali Al-Saachez. They became bitter enemies after he gained an ire of the terrorist mobile suit pilot for his countless crimes in his lifetime.
  • Ryuji became friends with Tsunade after she became impressed with his Super-Strength powers.Ryuji would also doing training under her everytime he visits her temple.
  • Being good at using his social skills in a good way, Ryuji despises Sosuke Aizen considers that he uses his social skills to manipulate others in order to motivate his agendas. Although they seemed to be looked alike, Ryuji opposes his methods and tries to stay away from him as possible.
  • Due to her needs for sweet food for her energy, Yoko can be seen eating fruit cakes in Oren Pierre Alfonzo's Charmant store. As such, she became friends with Stocking since she also likes to eat anything that is sweet like her.
  • Yoko Usami has gained a rivalry with a similarly named Yoko, better known as Kamen Rider Marika, as the New Generation Rider challenges the female Go-Buster if she's a capable fighter in the same levels as her.
  • Jin can be seen hanging out with Tony Stark due to their similar personalities. The two often seen work together to put their ideas in their respective inventions.
  • J is somewhat being friends with Graham Aker due to the Mobile Suit pilot and a Buddyloid were sounded alike. The two of them often seeing training rigorously with their piloting skills since then.
  • For some strange reason, followers of µ's — in particular, Dia Kurosawa of Aqours — keep asking Yoko to cross her arms and yell "BUU BUU DESU WA!" at them. Though a bit confused, she obliged, and upon meeting Dia, she understood immediately.
  • The team were somewhat became enemies with Agent Smith since the evil AI had found them interesting after he saw their powers. However, the rangers doesn't take long to hate him since they reminded him too much of Enter.
  • At one point, the Go-Busters were being ambushed by the Psycho Rangers, who also took their forms to continue their havoc in the pantheon. It doesn't take long that the team managed to give them a payback on the evil rangers as they managed to fend them off in their duels.
  • The team were not happy upon hearing their archnemesis Enter is present in the pantheon. Considering he causes alot of trouble with the heroes back then. Worst of all they became more upset after Enter became part of both Trollkaigers and SHOCKER (as an employed member) to continue his chaotic spree. Luckily, the team had found some allies who happens be enemies with Enter like most good aligned Digimon deities, the White Hats, Naegi, Madoka, Ruby, Satellizer, and Neo, as they join forces in an effort to stop Enter and his cohorts from any further.

    Viewtiful Joe
Joe Black, the Henshin A Go-Go God (Viewtiful Joe)

  • Intermediate God

  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Portfolio: Hero-Worshipper, Ascended Fanboy, can slow down time and speed it up, Cool Helmet, Genre Savvy, Nice Guy, Pint-Sized Powerhouse, Scarf of Asskicking, Precision Guided Voomerang,
  • Domains: Chaos, Good, Glory, Strength
  • Herald: Silvia Lumière/Sexy Silvia (his girlfriend), Captain Blue (his idol and Silvia's father), Jet and Junko Black/Emperor Black and Queen Heinderella (his parents), Jasmine Black/Double Trouble (his little sister).
  • High Priests: Science Ninja Team Gatchaman
  • Allies: All Ascended Toku Heroes, all superhero deities, especially James Howlett/Wolverine, Steve Rogers/Captain America, Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, Tony Stark/Iron Man, Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Dante Sparda, Cosmos, Rashid
  • Enemies: SHOCKER, Dormammu, Doctor Doom, Magneto, The Psycho Rangers, Shadow Moon, Sting Chameleon
  • Admired by: 9-volt and 18-volt
  • The Toku Base has held the title of Henshin Hero for a long time. But it put them in a bind. Many of their kind have ascended as individuals, causing disorganization for their crew. It was decided that only the ascended members would stay in the Pantheon. Now they need someone to hold the title. It would eventually go to a fanboy called Joe Black. He quickly accepted the position, paving the way for his ascension.
  • What followed was a fangasm unlike that anyone has seen before. He made it his goal to visit every single Henshin Hero and Superhero in the Pantheon that day... and succeeded. Of course it helped that he had the power to control time in his finger tips.
  • Cosmos was quick to approve of the decision. She believes he will become a great hero... even when he tends to be brash at times.
  • Has naturally befriended all ascended henshin deities in the Pantheon, from both the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai universes. As such he comes in direct opposition to SHOCKER. He doesn't have to deal with them himself, but me may have to step up to help his followers deal with these constant attacks from monsters.
  • As with many other heroes of his kind, Viewtiful Joe has to tangle with Evil Counterparts Shadow Moon and the Psycho Rangers. This resentment is particularly harsh on him; The fact that these two groups employ his former idol Captain Blue hurts him to this day.
  • One may not know this, but his status gives him domain over many Magical Girls who depend of transformation sequences to gain their powers. He often teams up with the Sailor Scouts, though some of them accuse him of stealing their spotlight. Sailor Moon doesn't seem to mind, knowing they need all the help they can get.
  • Participated in the Fate of Two Worlds crossover with both Marvel and Capcom fighters. He considered it a privilege to fight alongside some of the greatest heroes around... as well as test them in battle.
    • Has revealed to have a crush on She-Hulk. While Jen took it as a compliment. Silvia was not nearly as pleased.
    • Was happy to fight alongside Dante the most, delighting in his stylish ways. Not that the phrase is as cool as 'viewtiful', but he does admit it has a good ring to it. Both gods have even adopted the other's catchphrases.
    • Wondered how a man like Ryu could shoot out fireballs and not call himself a superhero by now. The warrior wondered how it's such a big deal in the first place.
    • As such, he's dedicated himself to help Earth's Mightiest Heroes to take on their enemies. While he's a good help with many of them, one can't help but feel him to be outclassed by the likes of Doctor Doom and Dormammu. That hasn't deterred him from helping out regardless.
  • Few deities are more quotable than Captain Falcon. Viewtiful took full advantage, adding his quotes to his growing arsenal of catch phrases. Not that the good captain minds; he very much approves of Viewtiful Joe's moves, especially adding flames to his attacks. With that said, he won't go into how he does the Falcon Punch.
  • It was only inevitable that Viewtiful Joe himself would be subjected to hero worship by certain groups of the Pantheon. The first on that list were 9-volt and 18-volt. The two hoped that Viewtiful Joe would be the patron saint of the Ascended Fanboy. While it wasn't the case, the Henshin Hero promised to help them find a suitable candidate for the position. Still, Joe couldn't help but bask in the fact he has become the adored one.
  • Though he and Sting Chameleon constantly battle each other, they are familiar with each other. Joe once took the Cameleon when the former invaded his world, mistaking him for Cameo Leon.
  • Is flattered that Rashid of the Turbulent Wind is such a big fan of his, especially given how quickly Rashid gained his own reputation for friendliness and heroism after revealing himself among the Street Fighters.
  • "Henshin A Go-Go, baby!"

The dynamic duo, then and now
  • Lesser Gods (Intermediate in their prime)
  • Symbol: Mermaid Man's gadget belt
  • Theme Music: The Lineman
  • Alignment: Lawful Good (both of them, though Barnacle Boy's a bit crabby)
  • Portfolio: Fat and Skinny, Old Superhero, Superhero Parodies, Only Humans In Bikini Bottom (We Think), Retired Badass, I Was Quite a Looker
  • Domains: Seniority, The Sea, Superheroes
  • High Priest: Mr Legend
  • Followers: Gligarman, Genghiz Cohen, The Green Termite
  • Allies: Arthur Curry, Bruce Wayne, Finn the Human, Diana Prince, the Powerpuff Girls, Ariel
  • Headbutting Heroes with: Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star (both of them), Dick Grayson, Squidward Tentacles (Barnacle Boy only)
  • On good terms with: The House of Aquatic Life
  • Enemies: Mermaid Man opposes anything "Eeeevil!". To be more specific, they oppose the following; Plankton, The Lich, Hexxus, The Sea King, Mr Burns, Ursula and the Wicked Witch of the West
  • Opposes: The House of Crime And Transgressions
  • Decades ago, Bikini Bottom would find itself troubled by supervillains, however superheroes existed to counter them. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy fought against villains like the Dirty Bubble and Man-Ray, however despite all their power they were not immune to the ravages of time. Thanks to Spongebob and Patrick they would partly come out of retirement, but at their age they're still rusty.
  • They used to be part of the International Justice League of Super Acquittances, or I.J.L.S.A for short. Their members included The Quickster, the Elastic Waistband, Captain Magma and Miss Appear. Though they aren't around any more, their powers are in the form of their costumes. When a massive threat comes about the protectors of Bikini Bottom, they'll rent these costumes out to their friends. When they gave them to Spongebob and his allies, it ended up with all of them injured due to incompetence.
  • They have a complicated relationship with Spongebob and Patrick. While the two have helped them out, their massive fanboyism has caused a number of problems as well. Their first outing brought the elderly heroes out of retirement, but to stop their nuisances. Mermaid Man is a lot more forgiving than Barnacle Boy, mainly because he gets the brunt of their misfortune. Barnacle Boy will work with Squidward, however they don't get along so much despite being alike.
  • Mermaid Man's belt has a number of gadgets, however it's hard to operate and can end up backfiring(mainly on Squidward). It's main power is to shrink things, however it's not clear how to reverse this. Both Mermaid Man and Patrick believe you need to switch the M around for W or wumbo, of which the latter is well versed in. There being no known way to reverse the shrinkage though it would explain how despite being humans they're the size of a squirrel.
  • Being undersea heroes, they have a lot in common with Arthur Curry. The two are glad to see that there's a young, strong superhero protecting the sea. In general they get along with the House of Aquatic Life.
  • It's not entirely clear why Mermaid Man is called such despite being male, or wears the Seashell Bra. According to him, it has something to do with the fact Clothes Make the Superman, and is comfortable enough "fighting in colored undies" to not try and change it. It's also unclear why Barnacle Boy isn't Barnacle Man at this point, something he's frustrated with and had temporarily went evil to get some respect. So far, he's managed to get it.
  • Mermaid Man is vehemently against evil of any kind, and will go into a fit if its mentioned. He immediately joined the GUAG upon learning of the Grand United Alliance Of EVIL!!!, far more of a threat than E.V.I.Lnote  ever was. Because of their ability to manipulate water, the Wicked Witch of the West considers them a major threat. They also opposes Ursula for her desire to overthrow King Triton, and the Sea King for his association with water.
  • They were fairly neutral with Plankton, but after he tried hijacking their brains to turn people against Krabby Patties he is considered an enemy.
  • The two owe a lot to Batman and Robin, mainly their campy 60s era selves. The two get along fine with Bruce Wayne, however Barnacle Boy is pretty jealous towards Dick Grayson. he's in his sixties and still stuck in the sidekick role.
  • Living under the sea, they naturally oppose polluters like Mr. Burns and Hexxus. They're also concerned with the likes of the Lich, who's capable of killing water.
  • There's a Mermaid Man movie in development. While Mermaid Man's excited to be back in the spotlight, Barnacle Boy is quite annoyed about being portrayed as his villainous half-brother.

    Pepsiman
PEPSIMAN!

Pepsiman, God of Products Transformed Into Superheroes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/b76t_vciaaejpb2.jpg
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: The Pepsi Logo
  • Theme Music: PEPSIMAN!
  • Alignment: Lawful Good, Chaotic Evil in the The Angry Video Game Nerd's universe
  • Portfolio: Amusing Injuries, Mundane Made Awesome, The Blank, Butt-Monkey, Long Song, Short Scene
  • Domains: Drinks, Superheroes, Advertising, Injuries, Products
  • Allies: Segata Sanshiro, Protonjon, Vinny, The House of Heroism
  • Enemies: Morris, The Angry Video Game Nerd, Sundowner, Steven Armstrong, Anyone who makes fun of Pepsi
  • Opposes: Jontron, Soldier: 76
  • Pepsiman is the living embodiment of Pepsi, bringing all the thirsty people the refreshing and tasty drink that is Pepsi. He arrived one day where the House of Food was a having a shortage of drinks, quickly arriving and using his signature powers to fill the house with Pepsi. Before he got the chance to leave, he tripped over and ended up accidentally destroying half of the House he was in. The court of Gods later allowed him to have his own temple to keep doing his job in the pantheon.
  • By default he is considered a superhero, even if he doesn't do much crimefighting. He is more or less a delivery boy (Or Super Delivery Boy if you will) of Pepsi, but even then, he seems to be on good terms with the House of Heroism and he did help the authorities of his world a few times (At least for Pepsi related things that is).
  • Pepsiman's claim to fame comes from his videogame, which is a source of his constant Amusing Injuries and bizarre hijinks he gets involved with. The other most notable from said game is the live action segments featuring an unknown man with a Pepsi addiction, said footage make some people believe it comes from a Snuff Film.
  • It's obvious that Pepsiman is not fond of his parent company's biggest competitor, Coca-Cola. In fact, whenever someone brings up the Pepsi Invaders/Coke Wins game, he gets very mad.
    • Pepsiman had once encountered an Evil Counterpart known as the Coke Captain, which as his name suggests, represents Coca-Cola. Naturally, Pepsiman was incredibly displeased to discover such an opponent, defeating him with haste - but was unfortunately defeated by Senator Armstrong almost effortlessly. To this day, Pepsiman is keeping his distance from Sundowner due to his and the Captain's similar appearances.
  • He doesn't pay too much attention to other competitors outside of Coca-Cola, but one in particular has been bothered by his ascension and that's none other than the CEO of Joja Corporation, Morris. He is pissed that with Pepsiman's sudden arrival, his products have been getting less and less attention (besides obviously many people knowing they are terrible) and instead prefer to seek Pepsiman for a more refreshing drink.
  • A former follower of Segata Sanshiro given their shared over the top advertisements and (surprisingly for Pepsiman) being from Japanese origins. Segata himself welcomed Pepsiman to his temple, but he was initially upset that his main game was on the Playstation. Before Segata tried to beat him up, as he usually does, he did mention the time he appeared as a Guest Fighter in Fighting Vipers, a Sega Saturn game, and so Segata spared him.
  • There have been a few deities that are familiar with the Pepsiman videogame, like Protonjon for example. However, one particular deity that stood out for Pepsiman was Jontron, who mistakenly assumed his game didn't have any music, ignoring the trademark theme song that is characteristhic of Pepsiman or that he believes that because his world is very centered in Pepsi that maybe there is a hidden conspiracy pulling the strings from the shadows.
    • There was also Vinny from Vinesauce, who did manage to beat his game but also tried to corrupt it, but arguably had a hard time doing so. Initially he had a conflicting opinion on him but because he let it slide after he heard he finished the game for real.
  • One time he had an encounter with Soldier: 76 which didn't end very well. Jack was having trouble with a Pepsi vending machine and so Pepsiman as usual went and provided him with a Pepsi. But because he objectively prefers Coke, Pepsiman got mad and used his PEPSI PUNCH! on him, sending him flying. The two haven't been on good terms ever since.
  • Another incident involved Pepsiman's Evil Counterpart Bepisman engaging him in a duel. Pepsiman came out on top and prefers if no one talks about Bepisman.
  • Some people are a bit unneverd about Pepsiman's lack of features besides his mouth that he tends to open when using his powers, which doesn't help much.
  • Can also be found at Advertising.
  • As of 2019, there's an alternate version that's pretty much the opposite of what the ascended version stands for, and has targeted the Angry Video Game Nerd into reviewing the video game adaptation of his exploits. This one was defeated by the Nerd with the help of the TV-Games dude from the same game as this Pepsiman. Thanks to this traumatic experience, the Nerd refuses to drink Pepsi, much less allow Pepsiman anywhere near him.

    SWAT Kats

  • Enemies: Ratigan, Napoleon, Cobra Commander, The Shredder, HYDRA, Junkrat & Roadhog
  • Odd Relations: Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde
  • Admired By: Joel Johansson
  • Chance Furlong and Jake Clawson used to be a pair of hotshot pilots working for the Enforcers in Megakat City until a failed attempt at capturing the supervillain Dark Kat resulted in the two losing their positions and forced to work in the city's junkyard (and this whole mess wasn't really their fault). Luckily for them, the junkyard is full of scrapped parts used by the Enforcers, so the duo used this to their benefit and became the vigilante duo known as the SWAT Kats. With their custom fighter jet loaded with unusual missiles and an array of gadgets at their disposal, they protect the city from the various villains that threaten it.
  • While their temple on the surface is less of a temple and more of a dumping ground for various deities to throw away various stuff with it being a salvage yard and all (in addition to being an auto repair facility), it also functions as their Elaborate Underground Base. Given that the discarded stuff that ends up there can include technological equipment and weapons that don't appear to be of use to their former owners, the two have used it to their advantage in coming up with new ideas on how to take down threats that they come across.
  • Although some have believed that "The Radical Squadron" one of the duo's titles, it has never been used directly by them or others associated with them. They are simply a squadron that is "radical" in the way that they deliver justice.
  • The duo are very good friends with the TMNT, due to the two groups being animal heroes with experience in protecting a city from various threats. They like to exchange stories of their adventures with each other and even team up every now and then.
  • Due to their skills at being mechanics, the two have managed to find some friends in others working that profession. Seeing what the other mechanics are capable of in addition to their primary work has impressed T-Bone and Razor quite a bit.
    • An extended conversation with fellow inventor Torbjörn came about when the pair first met him. When asked about robots (mostly due to the latter's distrust of such), the SWAT Kats had to deal with a pair of robotic gangsters a few times and at one point, a Robot Buddy tagged along with T-Bone and Razor. Torb has told them that as long as robots with any kind of sentience don't play a significant role in their tasks, things are even fine and he is pretty impressed with what the SWAT Kats can come up with.
  • They heard about another person that builds weapons out of junk and decided to learn more about it. Unfortunately, they found out that not only was that person psychotic, but he had his own partner-in-crime to help out in causing chaos. The SWAT Kats have gotten into conflict against Junkrat and Roadhog since then, partially to stop them from causing severe damage and partially to see which pair is better at utilizing weapons out of junk.
  • Joel Johansson has been noted to be a fan of the duo and is looking forward to any potential adventures that the SWAT Kats find themselves in.
  • Some confusion ensued after the two found out there was someone who was an "Enforcer" and the SWAT Kats decided to find out who it was. They ended up meeting Shinya Kogami, who told them that the "Enforcer" that he was happened to be different from the Enforcers the two were used to. Despite this, they're rather friendly to each other due to proficiency in stopping criminals, even if Kogami was a little bewildered with the Kats' quirks.
  • The two are somewhat reminded of Commander Feral (and/or his niece, Lt. Felina Feral) whenever they see Carmelita Fox in action, though she is a bit more competent than Feral and doesn't really need "chopper backup" in her line of work. She's more annoyed with how they stop criminals than anything, but doesn't want much to do with them due to other priorities anyways.
  • From time to time, the duo hang out with the members of Star Fox to engage in aerial dogfight practice. The SWAT Kats also talk to Slippy Toad during these meetings to discuss the mechanical details of projects either team is working on.
  • An encounter with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde ended up being an unusual experience for the SWAT Kats, given how the rabbit and the fox are involved with delivering justice through more legal means (most of the time at least). The four had a conversation about dealing with corruption and chaos and the SWAT Kats told Judy and Nick that they had to deal with a law enforcer that not only did not like them a whole lot, but was not that successful in dealing with the threats the SWAT Kats confront. Furthermore, said law enforcer was their boss back when they were on the force and he blamed them for his failure (in trying to pull an Only I Can Kill Him on Dark Kat— he clipped their wing, causing them to crash into Enforcer Headquarters; Dark Kat managed to get away in the ensuing confusion), resulting in them getting demoted to the junkyard and thus becoming vigilantes in the first place. Nick and Judy stated that they were much more reasonable than whom the SWAT Kats were describing, but they weren't entirely familiar with dealing with vigilantes like the SWAT Kats.
    • Nick and Judy acknowledged that there were more dangerous threats out there like what the SWAT Kats had dealt with in the past, but they were mixed about the pilots' methods. Nevertheless, the duo left on amicable terms and from the SWAT Kats agreed to create something that would monitor Nick and Judy's enemies like Ratigan and Napoleon and the two officers would let the pilots know if there's a threat that the officers would have noticeable difficulty handling.
  • Both get along with Darkwing Duck by virtue of being animal vigilante heroes in a metropolis that is overrun with crime. Darkwing is a bit jealous that the SWAT Kats have had somewhat better luck with publicity than he has, though the two have told him not to let the desire for fame get the better of him.
    • T-Bone and Razor also got an opportunity to meet Darkwing's sidekick Launchpad McQuack during one of their team-ups. While the SWAT Kats get along with the pilot well-enough and have some level of admiration towards his piloting skills, they're a bit concerned with Launchpad's track record of crashing things with wings.
  • Having had experience in stopping criminals and terrorists from taking over Megakat City, they have decided to stop others such as Cobra Commander from taking over the Pantheon. There is some sort of additional animosity between Cobra Commander and T-Bone for a particular reason.
  • Surprisingly enough, they once met with Uncle Grandpa. Neither of them have indulged just what the heck happened.
  • But once he learned of their arrival, Steven Universe immediately went over to their hangar and met up with them— he was visited by Uncle Grandpa too, and after subsequently learning of the multiverse, he came to admire them for their heroic feats. The rest of the Crystal Gems, given their history as a rebellion, feel the same way. Lion, however, is a bit confused— mainly by the fact that they can talk, but he can't. For their part, T-Bone and Razor like Steven and the other Crystal Gems and consider them to be trustworthy allies.

    Satoru/Mumen Rider
Satoru, Divine Non-Powered Costumed Hero (Mumen Rider, Rider, License-less Rider, Cyclist for Justice)

  • Allies: Saitama, Genos, Fubuki, Tatsumaki, Darkwing Duck (sentiment only semi-returned), Tenya Iida, Penry & Spot, Kick-Ass, most gods in the GUAG Super Hero Division, most superheroes in general, most heroic Kamen Riders
  • Enemies: Sea King, Boros, Stain, Trollkaiger, every villain in the Pantheon and those who mock the ideals of heroes
  • Heavy Dislike towards: The Boys
  • The Hero Association has many powerful superheroes working for it, including a bald guy wearing a cape that can kill nearly everything in one punch. Satoru, better known by his hero name Mumen Rider, is a member of the Hero Association, but unlike the other members of the group, he has no superpowers to speak of. Instead, he is just a regular guy in a costume who rides around on a bike and goes up against villains big and small. He doesn't have any combat ability at all, so these encounters always end with him getting thrashed by the villains. Despite all this, he's able to survive and his honest dedication and determination to keep innocents alive has earned him plenty of respect from others, including Saitama.
  • A young man wearing a cheap-looking costume riding a bicycle showed up in the Pantheon one day and although it wasn't too out of the ordinary at first, what followed later got the attention of some Pantheon denizens. When some criminal was threatening a civilian, the young man went up to the criminal and prepared to stop him, only to get beaten around easily. At the very least, the person who was attacked by the criminal earlier managed to get away and a few other instances playing out similarly were reported in the Pantheon. This got to a point, where Mumen Rider later attempted to stop Cyborg Superman from causing widespread damage across the Pantheon, only to get beaten mercilessly and sustaining heavy injuries. The real Superman arrived just in time to fend off Cyborg Superman and take Mumen Rider to safety. Even after learning Mumen had no real combat prowess whatsoever, Superman admired his determination and resolve to keep innocents safe, even if the odds are stacked against him and encouraged him to keep fighting for what's right after helping him get settled in the Pantheon.
  • Mumen Rider later learned of the GUAG, an organization that housed multiple heroes working for it and believed it to be very similar to the Hero Association that he worked for before. He decided to apply for a spot there hoping that he can continue his work on a much larger scale. While some of the ruder members of that group thought he didn't look like much (and not have a lot to go with it), many of the other members of the group approved of Mumen Rider's determination and were willing to let him be a part of the group, letting him handle matters big and small.
  • His name is a noticeable take-off on Kamen Rider and his determination and sense of justice is similar to that of many of these heroic Kamen Riders. A failed attempt at stopping some monsters resulted in him meeting a couple of these Kamen Riders (which happened to be Gaim and Ex-Aid at the moment) once they saved his life. Mumen Rider took great admiration in many of these Kamen Riders and while they don't necessarily have the time to teach Mumen Rider proper combat skills, they're still on good terms with him. Through their meetings, Mumen Rider learned about a number of villainous Kamen Riders, to which he considered those particular Riders unworthy of the title and believed that they should be vanquished, and the fact that some adventures aren't as simple as just battles between good and evil.
  • Kick-Ass ended up being a deity that Mumen took an interest in following a chance meeting between him that ended with Kick-Ass having to fight a few thugs that had cornered the pair of heroes. While Mumen put in a good effort to help Kick-Ass, he ended up going down easily while Kick-Ass drove off the remaining criminals that harassed them. Mumen found a bit in common with Kick-Ass, even if the latter's alleged reputation isn't quite to the same level as that Mumen, though both have gotten along with each other very well for their heroic convictions and willing to fight even if things aren't going well for them.
  • Darkwing Duck initially had a bit of a problem with Mumen Rider and his reputation despite both being heroes without superpowers. While Darkwing does put in the effort when pushed and doesn't get high praise despite it, Mumen Rider has been respected for his ideals despite getting defeated by villains on a regular basis. Darkwing found this annoying, but hearing one of Mumen's speeches during a night prowl of his did give Darkwing a bit more reason to be altruistic in his heroics, especially when it comes to Gosalyn Mallard. Mumen himself believes that Darkwing is capable of trying hard enough to become a better hero.
  • One of his daily patrols led him to meet a crime-fighting dog and a feline sidekick that was watching from the sidelines in case Hong Kong Phooey made another inevitable screw-up. Predictably, HKP ended up missing his target the first go-around and it was up to Spot to finish whatever it was that HKP attempted to start. After that mess was over, Mumen went up to HKP and thanked him for his hard work and even told Spot to at least stay safe, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the cat actually did most of the work, with HKP returning the sentiment towards Mumen. The fact that both are held in high regard for their heroics despite not having any direct success with their exploits (though HKP at least had dumb luck on his side) also played a role in their friendship.
  • The mere idea of someone who specifically kills heroes was more than enough to enrage Mumen Rider once he heard of someone like that via meetings from the GUAG and despite warnings from some members, took it upon himself to find that Hero Killer and try to stop his crime spree. After going through numerous cities, he managed to find a sword-wielding figure whose presence managed to frighten Mumen Rider for a bit. Stain found it audacious that someone without any experience fighting wearing a cheap costume would try to stop someone like them and attacked Mumen, severely injuring him in the process. Mumen Rider then began to speak out even in the face of certain defeat about his ideals and how no matter what happens, heroes like him will keep fighting to bring criminals to justice. Stain, already having plenty of hatred towards Mumen's Hero Association colleagues, was willing to let Mumen off for the time being for having a sense of honesty about his heroics and being better about it compared to the aforementioned colleagues, even if subsequent encounters between them would get more violent. Mumen was only more enraged that someone who murders heroes like Stain would find worth in what Mumen says, especially considering Stain's hypocrisy and narrow-minded views on heroes.
    • Following that harrowing conflict, Mumen was recommended to meet Tenya Iida, who harbored a strong personal grudge against Stain and told his story about what happened to Mumen. From there, Mumen noticed that Tenya held many of the same ideals the he believed in with high regard and the two struck up a strong friendship, with Tenya covering for Mumen should the latter end up in severe danger.
  • Word of a group of people who are focused on targeting superheroes reached Mumen Rider, who was taken aback by the general idea of such. One of his look-outs led to him meeting that group, known as The Boys. They explained to Mumen, who they thought was some random weirdo on a bike, that they go after heroes that step out of line and while Mumen tried to make a counterpoint, he was cut off and Billy Butcher said that not every superhero lives up to what the general public sees them as. While there was a bit of a reason behind their actions, Mumen would prefer not to get himself involved with The Boys any further, especially given how they've associated themselves with Stain.
  • He's become a favorite target for trolls to pick on, mainly because of Mumen's lack of combat expertise and willingness to dive head-first into dangerous scenarios whenever someone's at risk. Trollkaiger has set up a device that would alert them of Mumen's presence and they would go ahead and harass someone so that they can ambush Mumen. This has worked in their favor a number of times, though some failures were the result of some other hero stepping in to thwart Trollkaiger's schemes. Mumen has come to despise Trollkaiger and their willingness to cause misery for their own benefit and is more than willing to try and stop them no matter the odds.
