The VShojo lineup as of April 2024. L - R, top to bottom
NOTE: A good amount of the talents listed, both current and former, were independent VTubers before joining the group. Some examples below may apply to that time, although most of their best-known character traits have carried over into their VShojo careers.

For the girls' alter-egos in Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, see here.

    open/close all folders

Tropes applying to several current and former members
  • Ambiguously Bi: Most of the members have fawned over fictional characters (and celebrities) of both genders. They all collectively went into a panic when they encountered Lady Dimitrescu as well. To date, only Geega and Matara have outright stated that they are heterosexual, although Matara will play along with the group’s more sapphic shenanigans without hesitation and has made suggestive wisecracks both to and about Zentreya.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Do not call Froot a succubus. Whenever anyone does, she reacts with a mix of shock and anger, and she is quick to remind them that she's a lich. Then again, this often results in a You're Cute When You're Angry response.
    • Mousey has several:
      • Don't ever confuse Puerto Rico for Mexico in front of her, or invoke the Latin Land trope in general.
      • Because of the limitations caused by her illness, the Can't Have Sex, Ever trope is an especially sore spot for her.
      • The Internet disconnecting and interrupting her stream will immediately land her in Tranquil Fury territory.
      • Don't call her a Tsundere, no matter how many clips there are of her acting this way (and especially to Connor).
      • Don't call her a "legal dwarf" either. Dwarfism is generally defined as an adult height of 4'10" (147 centimeters) or less, and Mousey happens to be exactly that height, making her legally a dwarf - but do not call her that!.
      • As proud as she is of her Puerto Rican heritage, calling her a "Feisty Latina Woman" is a sure-fire way to get on her bad side. She is not "feisty", dammit!
      • People asking "How Much More Can She Take" in chat and "back-seating her health" in general.
    • Mel has a couple:
      • She can't stand dad jokes or puns, with a specific hatred for "deez nuts" and "ligma." Unsurprisingly, her audience donates these in bulk to make her read them.
      • She evidently is proud of being the "slutty one" in VShojo, and she got extremely defensive when informed that Zen and Froot are going for her title.
Mel: I'm sorry, we are all- we all have our amazing individual skills. Some can cook well, some can- can draw well, some can sing well. [shouting] BUT I WANNA BE THE SLUTTY ONE!
    • Apparently, Nyanners utterly despises the "Dog of Wisdom" video by Joe, and even the first second of it will absolutely enrage her.
    • Silvervale hates when pop is referred to as "soda." Also, calling her a fox or a cat.
Silver: I'M NOT A CAT! [angry face] Who the fuck said I was a cat?! RAAAAR!
  • Brutal Honesty: Expect none of the VShojo talents to mince their words about certain topics, their audience, or people in general, especially Zen, as they all have their fair share of saying what they think every time they stream.
  • Cute Monster Girl: Robo-dragons, devils, liches, cyborgs, succubi, AIs, and more. Most of them, bar Kson and Henya, are some type of monster, no matter how human some of them may look.
  • The Mad Hatter: They're all crazy people even by VTuber standards, but they proudly embrace this part of themselves rather than reject it.
  • Multinational Team: Being primarily an agency of English-speaking VTubers, it's not surprising that their talents come from multiple parts of the globe:
    • Ironmouse, Zentreya, Geega, and Hime are Americans; Ironmouse is also a Puerto Rican, and Hime is an expatriate living in Japan.
    • Froot and Kuro are Britons, with Kuro descended from a Filipino family.
    • Melody, Haruka and Matara are Canadians, with Matara coming from a Ukrainian-descended family.
    • Kson and Henya are Japanese with American upbringings.
    • Michi is Indonesian, specifically from the eastern part of Java near Bali.
    • As for former talents, Nyatasha and Silvervale are Americans, Veibae is a Brit of Polish descent, and Nazuna is Japanese.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: The agency consists of a group of quirky monster girls (and a monster guy) of different origins; the founding members in particular consist of a virus-infected AI girl with an Enemy Within, a demon queen, a degenerate catgirl, a commander/dragon/cyborg girl with a short temper, a lich, a wolf goddess, and an alien-robot-dragon hybrid.
  • World of Technicolor Hair: Almost all the members have unusual hair colors, with the blonde Hime being an exception and the black/blue-haired Kson and black/red-haired Kuro downplaying it. To wit: Melody has purple/blue hair with two magenta locks (with Melware having white/red hair); Mouse has pink hair with a purple streak; Silver has cyan/pink hair; Commander Zen and Dragon Zen have red hair; Nyanners has light pink hair; Froot has light teal/green hair; Haruka has green hair; Cyborg Zen and Vei have white hair; Geega has silver hair; Nazuna has light blue hair; Henya has light purple hair; Matara has desaturated pink hair with a more saturated pink streak; and Michi has purple hair with white streaks.

    Apricot (Froot)

You again?
Her appearance as of the formation of VShojo
The Undead Artist

Debut date: November 27th, 2020
Nationality: British
Birthday: October 22nd
Height: 154cm / 5'1"
Species: Lich
Fanbase name: Frootcakes
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
Once a British half-dragon lich, Bittersweet "Froot" Apricot was burned at the stake centuries ago (people misheard "lich" as "witch"...) and was reanimated as a magic-spinning, undead lich queen - NOT a succubus! - in the underworld, losing most of her draconic features and abilities in the process, only retaining horns and vestigial wings, but gaining a dislike of humans...and also small kingdom of worshipful skeletons at her beck and call— not as cool as it sounds when you're a humble type like Froot. Running into Mousey in the underworld, she taught her portal magic to the demon queen (thus facilitating Mousey's own move to Earth) in exchange for her permanently shielding Froot's realm from incursion by other underworld forces. Like Mousey, Froot grew bored of her station as underworld royalty, and left for the human realm— finding it a much more pleasant place than she remembered— and ran into Melody.

A soft-spoken goth, fairly humble and usually gentle in demeanor, Froot now goes through unlife with Terry, her phylactery, streaming in an attempt to get her viewers to sell their souls to her via Twitch subscriptions. Froot stands out in the crew for her relatively soft-spoken demeanor, as well as her longtime friendships with Zen and Haruka. She is a gifted visual artist and, in fact, drew her original model herself. She still regularly creates art in between games and reaction streams, and she is a talented gamer as well, regularly playing Apex Legends with reasonable skill, sometimes along with Zen and Nazuna.

VShojo's introduction video for her can be found here.

Also known as: BSApricot, Apricot

  • Animal Motif: Frogs. Her chibi model wears a frog hoodie.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Was already working with other VTubers as an artist and costume designer prior to becoming a VTuber herself, and has stated that she's "a big simp" for Melody and her circle of VTubers in particular.
  • Back from the Dead: Is capable of doing this to others, to the point that she is stated to only be able to romantically fall for those that she has done this to.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's typically friendly and sweet, but when pushed too far, her voice becomes so frightening that even Zen becomes nervous.
  • The Cameo: She briefly appears in Cyborg Zen's lore video, sitting forlornly by herself in the barren wasteland Earth has become. According to Merryweather's notes, she's resigned to Walking the Earth ever since Heaven and Hell closed themselves off from Earth, meaning she can't return to her home in the underworld.
  • Cool Crown: She definitely did not drop her original in a pit of souls and is not currently wearing one that she bought on eBay.
  • Cool Shades: Her gamer glasses.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Has emerald green eyes, and though much of her hair is teal-colored, its original color is green, which will always at least partially show through regardless of how much it's dyed.
  • Cute Little Fangs: She usually has one that looks like a part of her lip.
  • Cute Monster Girl: A lich. She later revealed that she was a half-dragon prior to becoming a lich, technically making her a (half-)Dracolich, though in becoming a lich she no longer has access to any dragon powers that she previously possessed.
  • Dem Bones: She has mentioned that her true form is like this, with the anime girl body we normally see being simply one that she conjured from magic.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Not fond of peanut butter.
  • Draco Lich: A half-dragon lich, explaining her horns and wings, although she did not retain most of her draconic abilities upon becoming undead.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She has appeared in her 3D model in both the VRChat portion of Nyan's 2021 birthday stream and VShojo's event at Anime Expo 2021, when it wouldn't be until her 2021 birthday stream that she would have her own event to officially reveal it.
  • Evil Is Deathly Cold: Subverted. Not only does she have no cold-based abilities as a lich, but, as in real life, she has an allergy that causes her to get a rash if her skin is exposed to cold temperatures.
  • Extreme Close-Up: A frequent occurrence in her streams is for her to zoom in on her avatar's face when she wants to emphasize her current expression.
  • The Fashionista: Created costume designs for other VTubers prior to becoming one herself, and one of her current goals is to set up her own fashion line specifically for VTubers.
  • Funny Afro: Has a Bob Ross-esque one (with mustache included!) that she sometimes dons for drawing streams.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Has stated that she tries to avoid swearing (though she will under certain conditions, such as when asked to by Zen or imitating someone like Vei). Usually not quite an example of this trope, since she doesn't typically resort to "faux" swears like those in the trope name, but she does when playing games like Grand Theft Auto V.
  • Grand Theft Me: Terry is capable of taking over her body, which is often used as an in-character explanation for when her avatar glitches or freezes.
  • Hates Baths: Not her, but Terry is apparently not fond of water. So, in her swimsuit-clad avatar meant for hot tub streams, Terry is placed on her crown, as far away from the water as possible.
  • Horned Humanoid: Four of them, with a couple of them sporting piercings.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: Her face reveal pretty much confirmed she is this.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: She has her moments, probably the most notable being in her debut stream, when she excitedly showed off her wings, forgetting for several moments what else happens to be at wing height. When Nux Taku replayed a clip of the event back to her, she maintained that she was unaware of what she was doing until the point where she told chat "I hope you're just looking at my wings."
    • More recently, and a showing of just how far she's come since the above example, was her 3D debut with new and better tracking. In which she spent a good amount of stream dancing like no one was watching in a hoodie and shorts outfit that generously bared her tummy, later ditching the hoodie to reveal she was wearing nothing but a fishnet top and tape underneath and knowingly bopping the camera with her butt... And then later that same stream expressing great embarrassment at the idea of a public review of... electronic assistants... offered to be sent to her with Mel's less-than-wholesome game.
  • Insistent Terminology: She would have you know that she is a lich, not a succubus.
  • Leitmotif: This track created by UTALIVE and remixed by Isaak_Wolf. She occasionally uses variants of it.
  • Liquid Courage: In her debut stream, she mentioned having a goal of overcoming her stage fright in order to sing on stream. Most of the times that she has sung on-stream since then, she has been under some level of inebriation, suggesting that this is her solution for the time being.
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: Not usually, but she does have this as part of her second costume, which was revealed on Valentine's Day 2021.
  • Metalhead: She lists several Progressive Metal and Avant-Garde Metal bands such as Animals as Leaders, Intronaut, Nero Di Marte, and Thy Cafalque as some of her overall favorite bands.
  • Nonconformist Dyed Hair: Her hair is dyed a light teal, though her natural shade of bright green is still visible, and according to her, she can never completely hide her natural color no matter how much she dyes it.
  • Non-Human Sidekick: The pendant that serves as her Soul Jar is named Terry and also apparently has a life independent of herself. She occasionally calls it "Phil" by mistake (which Terry apparently hates); both names are plays off the term "phylactery."
  • Non-Indicative Name: Despite one of her aliases being "BSApricot," she has noted that she has never actually eaten an apricot. In-character, she states that she's been around so long that she's forgotten how she came to have this name.
  • Not So Above It All: As calm and soft-spoken as she usually is, she's admitted that multiplayer in Halo 3 can really bring out the gremlin in her. Taken even further if she's been drinking on top of that, in which case she has been known to let out screeches that can rival Amelia Watson's.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: She has clarified that Apricot is her actual name, while "Froot" is a nickname. Whether by chat, fellow VTubers, or even on this page, she tends to be primarily referred to as the latter, though she has stated that she doesn't mind.
  • Perky Goth: Her overall aesthetic. Some pictures that she's posted of her real-life home furnishings suggest that her real self is one as well. Her face reveal pretty much confirmed it.
  • Soul Jar: As a lich, she naturally has one. It's the purple pendant on her chest, thigh, or crown, depending on the outfit.
  • Special Guest: Appeared on a BBC news broadcast about Virtual YouTubers.
  • Stylistic Suck: Similar to Melody's "Prajekt Malady" form, Froot has an "eyes-closed" drawing of herself rigged into an avatar, which is known as "Front." Among other differences from the usual Froot, Front actively declares herself to be a succubus.
  • Super-Deformed: Has one of these as an alternative model that she uses from time to time. It even comes with an adorable frog onesie!
  • Sweet Tooth: Having one has led to her making one of her current goals to be learning to bake.
  • Token Wholesome: Downplayed. She's a Covert Pervert at best and degenerate at worst, but is still regarded as the most wholesome among VShojo.
  • Tooth Strip: Her 3D avatar has one.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Beans on toast, to the point that she has come to refer to bits that she receives on Twitch as "beans."
  • Voice of the Legion: Can bring up this type of voice on occasion.
  • Vot Ocksent?: Has moments of this regarding her Bri'ish accent every now and again. Notably, the Raft collab streams have her pronounce "bottle" like "butthole" and "sweep nets" like "sweet nuts."
  • Winged Humanoid: A pair of bat-like wings she has precise enough control over, to the point that she can use them in place of her arms for all but the most precise tasks, such as drawing.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: By subscribing to her, you give your soul to her.

    Geega

It's not enough that I should win. Others should lose.
The Ultimate Mid-Boss

Debut date: December 5th, 2020
Joined: September 2nd, 2023
Nationality: American
Birthday: August 20th
Height: 147cm / 4'10"
Species: Vampire
Fanbase name: Mob Army (Creatures, Undead, and Monsters)
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
General Geega, an American vampiric warlock, started life as an optional, ridiculously high-leveled miniboss from an always-online videogame few have heard of and fewer still have played. Naturally, this wasn't exactly a nice way to live, so over time, thanks to the Internet, she gained self-awareness and awareness of the world outside. Figuring that the miniboss gig wasn't working out, she branched out into being a VTuber— she was already 2D to begin with, and the shift wasn't a hard one. Geega soon came into contact with the VShojo crew and played around with them for a while before getting accepted into the ranks.

Despite being VShojo's Token Evil Teammate (alongside Melware and certain incarnations of Mousey), Geega's a far more pleasant sort than one would take a girl like her to be. She's witty to a fault and loves to engage in playful antagonism with her chat and friends—though with no one moreso than Zen and Haru. She displays a noted taste for retro games and roguelikes.

A longtime colleague of the VShojo girls, particularly Zen and Haruka, Geega would finally join the agency in September 2023.

    Haruka Karibu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/haruka_2.png
HUEAGH!
The Seed of Life

Debut date: May 8th, 2020
Joined: December 3rd, 2022
Nationality: Canadian
Birthday: March 12th
Height: 165cm / 5'5" (minus antlers)
Species: Nature spirit / caribou
Fanbase name: The Herd / Cult
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
A Nature Spirit taking the form of a fawn (and later a young Canadian woman with characteristics similar to that of a caribou), her physical body was trapped in an ancient tree deep in Antarctica for millennia while her spirit wandered the world. After a chance encounter, she was freed from the tree and now endeavors to find out just what the forces of chaos are planning to do...

Haruka is bubbly, upbeat, and quite bouncy in her demeanor, always ready to bust out an impression or joke around with her friends. She's also deeply compassionate and is usually one of the first on the scene for her friends, forever with hugs on standby. She also loves Tim Hortons; well, she IS about as Canadian as they come, after all.

Another long-time colleague and friend of the VShojo girls, Haruka was the first new member to join VShojo English since Veibae in 2021, with the official announcement occurring on December 3, 2022.

    Hime Hajime
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hime_0.png
Ara ara
Her appearance as of the formation of VShojo
The Mother of Millions

Debut date: January 31st, 2021
Nationality: American (lives in Japan)
Birthday: June 4th
Height: 168cm / 5'6" (nominally)
Species: Extraterrestrial robot/dragon
Fanbase name: Hime Harem
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
An alien-robot-dragon hybrid from God-knows-where, with a massive bust and an even more massive amount of children on other worlds. She's come to Earth on a mission: to gather the biggest harem ever and give birth to even more alien robot dragons, thus expanding her army of children to conquer the world, and after that, the universe! Living it up in Japan and taking in Earth's culture are also possibilities.

Thus far, Hime's had little involvement in VShojo's lore, apart from being an outside observer of the whole Zen/Melware conflict. Her role in matters remains to be seen.

Loud, proud, energetic, and MILFy to the core, Hime easily streams the least out of anyone in VShojo, but when she DOES go live, one can expect to be in for a wild, hilarious ride. She's very upbeat and kooky in demeanor overall, but the kookiness is blended with major "ara ara mommy" energy— she IS a mother to millions of other alien-robot-dragon creatures, after all. She's also totally not an alter ego of another YouTuber, nope. Not at all. Why would you ask that?

She made her official debut on January 30, 2021. VShojo's introduction video for her can be found here.

Also known as: Hime, "Heem Hajeem", Milf Mommy

  • Absurdly Youthful Mother: Her overall aesthetic, and she certainly lives up to it.
  • Alliterative Name: Hime Hajime.
  • Big-Breast Pride: Quite proud of her pair (her cup size is officially listed as F, though she notes that they're probably larger than that) and of how having a metal spine makes it trivial for her to carry them. She has stated an intent to make them even larger.
  • Breast Expansion: She has stated that her bust gets bigger for every child she gives birth to. Considering her bust size and the amount of children she has ranging from the thousands, it's no surprise how far she's gotten, but then she also states that she wants them bigger.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: Has stated that she can be incredibly loud. Most evident at the very beginning of her debut stream, where her microphone was peaking badly, though she managed to fix it in short order.
  • Clark Kenting: Hime keeps up the usual VTuber façade of presenting her virtual persona as her true name and face, despite it being comically obvious that she is actually the anime YouTuber Sydsnap, real name Sydney. Hime first appeared in a Sydsnap video, and she is frequently accidentally addressed as "Sydney" by others, including herself. Sydney insists that "you have never seen Hime and Sydney in the same room," and the "ruse" has been maintained even when Hime collaborates with Sydney's husband.
  • Cleavage Window: There's a lot there to show off, after all.
  • Cute Monster Girl: A partially robotic humanoid dragon from another planet.
  • Cyborg: Partially robotic (her spine is made of steel to better support her breasts and has screws on her head, to name a few) and partially organic (has personally given birth to over 5,000 children).
  • Does Not Like Spam: Hates white chocolate.
  • Exotic Extended Marriage: On her home planet, she was raised to woo as many men as possible and have as many children as possible. She then moved to Tokyo and found the human practice of monogamy puzzling.
  • Explosive Breeder: Has stated that having kids is one of her greatest talents, and given that her offspring is stated to number in the thousands, she seems to be spot-on in believing this.
  • The Friends Who Never Hang: Since her debut, she's hardly done any collabs with the rest of the English gang; the people she has interacted with the most are Mouse and Nyanners. She has acknowledged this on-stream, chalking it up both to being the only member of VShojo English living in Japan's time zone and strict noise regulations at the apartment in which she lives, making it risky to stream outside of specific time windows. These two factors combined make scheduling such collaborations difficult.
  • Giant Woman: She has stated that she is as tall as a skyscraper, but she can change her size at will.
  • Jiggle Physics: Ummm... check.
  • Lady Drunk: Possibly. Her bios on both the official site and her Twitter page mention her love of alcohol, though it has yet to be seen how or to what extent this will come into play.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Is pretty casual about throwing curse words around.
  • Line-of-Sight Name: As mentioned in her official bio, she picked her name from an eroge.
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: Long blonde hair that extends past her waist.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: She is fond of breasts (especially her own) and likes watching hentai, even getting her name from an eroge. Also, considering that she aims to expand her already large harem by going to Earth, not to mention that she personally gave birth to over a million children...
  • Naughty Nuns: A joke that started in her second stream, where she covered her Cleavage Window with a Bible. Shortly after, she had to take a brief break from streaming, with her giving the reasoning that she would be in "Nun Camp." Since then, she occasionally mentions being a "woman of the cloth," but otherwise hasn't really changed her behavior, coming off as this trope.
  • Never Gets Drunk: Owing to her being part robot, she has a liver made of iron and can break down alcohol easily. In fact, she says that she can only get drunk from drinking a "galaxy's worth" of liquor.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: If these four tweets, along with her handle briefly being changed to "Wood Crawlers Conspiracy Theorist" are to be believed, then it's safe to say she finds the Woodcrawlers to be attractive. That said, she also admits that she scares very easily.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: An alien robot dragon with what appears to be a cephalopod limb for a tail.
  • Non Sequitur: Hime does these quite a lot during collab streams, often making comments that have nothing to do with anything and often go nowhere except into chaotic weirdness.
  • Open Secret: Suffice to say, her actual identity outside of her VTuber persona is one of the worst-kept secrets in VShojo. Yet despite the fact it is obvious, she still maintains the idea that Hime and Sydney are two different people. The fact that she still tries is something of a Running Gag, especially when she manages to blow her own cover.
  • Polyglot: Knows a fair amount of Japanese and Thai in addition to English.
  • Sizeshifter: To reconcile her officially given height of 5'6" with her claims of being roughly 1,500 feet tall, she has stated that she can switch between the two sizes at will. She prefers the latter, but due to living on Earth among humans, she mostly has to stick with the former.
  • Statuesque Stunner: If this height reference guide provided by Mouse is to be believed note , Hime towers over everyone else in VShojo. While her official height is listed as 5'6" note , she has stated herself to be literally as tall as a skyscraper, but can change her height for convenience sake.
  • Take Over the World: She has taken over her home planet already and now has her sights set on doing the same to Earth.
  • Teleportation: Her necklace gives her this ability, apparently with very few limitations.
  • Too Hot for TV: Perhaps unsurprisingly, she got her Twitch account suspended temporarily right after her first stream, presumably due to her Cleavage Window (which she covers up in her very next stream with a Bible).
  • Valley Girl: Has a good impression of one and uses it fairly often.
  • Winged Humanoid: Large, reddish ones that can seemingly fold up very well, as some depictions of her don't show them.

    Ironmouse
Now has her own character page (oh and Bubi too).

    Kuro Kurenai
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/k9_kuro.png
The darkness doesn't scare me. My only fear is losing who I am.
The God of Undead Miracles

Debut date: September 30th, 2023
Nationality: British (of Filipino descent)
Birthday: June 4th
Height: Undisclosed
Species: Undead hellhound
Fanbase name: K9s
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter

A god of miracles whose powers were constantly abused. With that, the other gods intervened by splitting him into two halves - the "light half" Shiro and the "dark half" Kuro - shackled them together, and sealed them in a tomb beneath a lake in Great Britain, where the pair granted wishes and stole life energy in the hopes of regaining enough power to break free from their shackles and escape the tomb. Ten years later, Kuro was suddenly released, but Shiro was nowhere to be found, and Kuro's own memories of how he was freed were left scattered and vague. He now watches over the lake that was once his prison, hoping that his other half will someday return.

VShojo's first male member (no, Bubi doesn't count!), Kuro joined the agency after Mousey and VShojo CEO Justin "TheGunrun" Ignacio helped him out with IRL issues. He may be a bit of a himbo at times, but he's an upbeat, keet-ish sort onstream, starkly contrasting his dark character and sad backstory. Despite his known dislike of children, he's friendly and approachable otherwise, albeit with a deep undercurrent of snarkiness.

Kuro was first announced on September 27th, with him debuting three days later on September 30th.

  • Ambiguous Situation: Shiro's ultimate fate. We know that he is missing after Kuro is freed from his prison. There is a possibility that Shiro sacrificed himself so that he can grant Kuro's wish to be free, but even that is up in the air.
  • Alliterative Name: Kuro Kurenai.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Kuro wished to break free from his prison and said he would give anything for that. His wish was granted, but Shiro was nowhere to be found afterward, upsetting him greatly.
  • Blade Enthusiast: He lists his fondness for knives as part of his trivia and occasionally wields one.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: Without giving away any details, Kuro tends to slip up and say too much every now and then. One notable instance is when he looks at a fan's signature of his name. Kuro slips up again, and he takes the time to kick himself.
  • Child Hater: Stated his dislike for children during his debut.
  • Closet Geek: Of the "denies being part of a specific fandom" variety. One of his first post-debut streams had him ranking various topics in tier lists, and when pressured to rank a My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic character list, he denies knowing anything about the series... then proceeds to breathlessly start ranking and identifying each character by name through appearance alone. He manages to get through a few dozen ponies before a donation snaps him out of it:
  • Cool Mask: Occasionally seen wearing a face mask.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Downplayed. Kuro's hair is primarily black, but with red streaks that match his eyes.
  • Deadpan Snarker: One of his most prominent traits is his snarkiness. This is established in his slideshow when he introduces himself in his debut stream, especially when he assures chat that League of Legends is not on the list of games he likes... and then reveals that it actually is.
  • Deal with the Devil: When Kuro and Shiro were imprisoned in the lake, they gradually noticed that their presence drew many people to it. With that, they granted the wishes of those who came to the lake, but at a proportionate cost of their life energy, which Kuro and Shiro would use to escape from their tomb. At least, until Shiro sacrificed himself to grant Kuro's wish for freedom... probably.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: It can be reasonably inferred that Shiro sacrificed himself to grant Kuro's wish for freedom; he did say that he only wanted Kuro's wishes to be true, after all. That said, Kuro has hope that Shiro is still alive and continues to watch over the lake, hoping that he will return.
  • I Just Want to Be Free: When Shiro asked Kuro his wish, he replied that he would give anything to get out of the tomb. Indeed, Kuro got his wish, but at the cost of Shiro.
  • In the Hood: Wears a hellhound-themed hoodie, sometimes with a mask.
  • Lemony Narrator: Kuro is the narrator for Michi's lore video; he definitely let his snark cut loose.
  • Meaningful Name: "Kuro" is a Japanese name that means "black". True to being the dark half, Kuro has a black and red color scheme. "Shiro" means "light", and he, being the light half, has a white and light blue color scheme.
  • The One Guy: As of 2023, he's the only male member of VShojo.
  • Perky Goth: Despite what his color scheme may imply, he's quite upbeat and affable.
  • Punny Name: His internet handle is "K9KURO", with "K9" being a pun to "canine". He's a hellhound.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Inverted. Kuro may have the color scheme, but he is not evil by any means.
  • Scary Stitches: He has stitches all over his body, given that he is an undead god.
  • Supernormal Bindings: The handcuffs Kuro wears on his left hand were summoned by the gods to shackle him and Shiro together.
  • Undeathly Pallor: He says he has tan skin, but being an undead god, it has become very pale.
  • The Unmasking: Kuro has revealed his face on February 5, 2024, and he has taken to doing normal livestreams every now and then.

    Matara Kan

Bug me anytime you like, honey
The Star from the Stars

Debut date: October 15th, 2023
Nationality: Canadian (of Ukrainian descent)
Birthday: February 4th
Height: 181cm / 5'11" (minus antennae)
Species: Extraterrestrial cockroach
Fanbase name: Momos
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter, Instagram

The last living member of a world populated by Insectoid Aliens, Mat'tarakan (commonly rendered as Matara Kan) was forced to flee her planet when it was suddenly devoured by a cosmic monstrosity. After spending quite some time drifting through space in her spaceship, asleep in her cocoon, she made her stay on another alien world, but left when she realized that her presence was creating a danger to the inhabitants. She then came to Earth in Canada, where she willingly participated in (unsuccessful) government experiments on her before escaping, befriending Ironmouse, and joining VShojo after a career in acting.

Matara is very much a "cool mom" or "awesome wine aunt" type of lady, being very sweet, caring, and motherly...and also a trollish gremlin in equal measure. Despite her roach theming, Matara typically tends to revel in cozier vibes than the rest of the group, and has a disarming, easygoing manner about herself, always warmly referring to people as her "honeys" or similar.

Matara was first announced on October 12th, and debuted on October 15th.

  • Accent Slip-Up: Matara has a very soft Russian accent whenever she speaks English. She may exaggerate when impersonating her host's mother, who has a very heavy accent, but Matara's accent becomes thicker whenever she speaks Japanese, much to the embarrassment of her colleagues.
  • Accidental Theft: Shortly after coming to Earth, she came to a store and grabbed a couple of things from it, unaware that she had to pay for them first. This is because the stores on her home planet gave away everything for free.
  • Alien Autopsy: Subverted; the military scientists who tried to take her apart to study her anatomy weren't able to so much as scratch her with their tools.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Her cited powers are Create Swarm, Metamorphosis, Regeneration, Mind Control, Body Takeover, and Soft Hug.
  • Artist Disillusionment: In her lore video, she gives a press conference where she announces that she's leaving her film career, citing being tired of getting very limited role options, burnout from the hustle and bustle of her career, and other reasons. She later repeats these sentiments to her therapist.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Putting "Soft Hug" aside, Matara's cited powers are typically associated with an insect-themed villain, but Matara herself is a warm and motherly figure who rescued an alien planet from multiple threats, though she left said planet upon realizing that she is being targeted specifically and tended to leave behind a lot of collateral damage.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Matara admits to having very terrible eyesight. She had glasses once but lost them a couple of years ago, although her "casual clothes" outfit has glasses as a toggle option.
  • Body Snatcher: One of her cited powers. She's stated that she is inhabiting the body of a human woman, referring to her as a "flesh mecha" or "flesh Gundam", which implies that what the public sees is a mix of that woman's body and her alien roach form rather than her true appearance. She also mentions talking to her "flesh mother" and the hijinks that can result, and she is working on developing human limbs for a 3D debut.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: Not as bad as the others, but she does end up saying a bit too much every now and then, especially when with Kuro. When she collaborated with Quinn Benet, she slips up, then resignedly says that there are going to be clips of her blunder, with a couple of cynical comments.
Matara: [mimicking a commentator] Ugh. Can't believe she's doing this on purpose. She's so la la la la la la la la la.
  • Caps Lock: Matara prefers to make social media posts using all-caps, which she's admitted is to make them easier for her to read due to her bad eyesight.
  • Content Warning: Parodied. The original opening for her streams was a boilerplate MPA rating screen that gave the stream an M rating for "Matara Kan" and listed "strong graphic violence, sexuality, nudity and language" as the warnings.
  • Creepy Cockroach:
    • Inverted. She is a cockroach girl who manages to be beautiful.
    • Likewise inverted with the Momos. At least, putting aside their transformation process.
  • Cute Monster Girl: She's a beautiful humanoid cockroach girl, complete with wing-like structures and antenna-like extensions on her head, insect legs coming from her back, and her human arms and legs having insectile joints and digits on the hands and feet.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: She is an alien resembling an insect stereotyped as repulsive and filthy, and her debut message gives a strong Yandere vibe while also showcasing her twitching insectoid extra limbs. The "Something Wicked This Way Comes" announcement also gives her a horror-like vibe, and she boasts some delightfully evil-sounding powers like summoning swarms and Mind Control. Oh, and Momo, the mascot that represents her fanbase, is the result of her implanting her eggs inside her fans, and she occasionally talks about eating Momos. Despite all this, she seems warm and motherly and has fled a planet rather than put the native population in undue danger.
  • Destructive Saviour: Defied. She took care of the people who took her in on the world she originally arrived on after her home planet was destroyed, including defending them from predators. However, this drew the attention of dangerous aliens, and they began coming after her to try to get the glory of actually defeating her. She easily fended them off, but when she saw the collateral damage that was being caused, she realized she couldn't stay with the other people anymore and chose to leave.
  • Face Full of Alien Wing-Wong: Momo, the cute insect mascot, represents the fanbase because making contact with Matara causes her to implant her eggs inside you, and you eventually turn into one; Matara describes the transformation process here.
  • Fangs Are Evil: Downplayed; she has prominent canines and an extra pair of fang-like upper teeth and can come off as sinister at times, but overall she's more of a good-natured troll/bully (especially to Zentreya) than actually evil.
  • Fight Magnet: As a consequence of being very hardy, Matara found herself drawing the attention of many dangerous aliens who began targeting her specifically, hoping to earn the glory of finally defeating her.
  • Freudian Couch: Played with during a segment of her intro video where she talks to her therapist about her former career and some of the things going on with her mentally and emotionally. Rather than a couch, she appears to be in her bed with a heavy quilt pulled over her.
  • Girls Are Really Scared of Horror Movies: Mata doesn't do well with horror games, geting scared easily and screaming her head off. Fittingly, commenters have noted that she has the classic "woman in a horror movie" scream.
  • Hair Antennae: True to her being an extraterrestrial cockroach, she has two long strands sprouting from her head and curving forward, and she can use them to sense the world around her. She can also remove her antennae, but she says that without them she feels like she's wearing earmuffs.
  • Healing Factor: "Regeneration", listed as one of her cited powers. It perhaps explains why she is extremely hardy.
  • Innocently Insensitive: When playing Minecraft with Zen during Christmas Eve 2023, she misinterprets Zen having a nosebleed and desperately trying to heal herself of it as her scratching her face, thinking it's cute and openly cooing over it. Subverted, however, in that Zen doesn't get offended, and actually appreciates her responding to the situation like that by accident.
  • Insectoid Alien: Not just Matara, but all the inhabitants of her planet, who are shown as resembling various insects and worms.
  • Insect Gender-Bender: In real life, female cockroaches have shorter wings than males; male cockroach wings extend past their abdomens. Despite being a female, her "wings" (or, "hair", in this instance) extend well past her abdomen.
  • Lady Drunk: Downplayed. She's the last of her kind and burnt out from the hustle and bustle of her film career, leading her to have a goblet or two of red wine handy, but she's not misanthropic like other examples, being a kind, motherly figure above all. Her original model even features a toggle to give her a goblet of wine, as was seen during her 12/31/23 stream.
  • Last of Her Kind: She alone escaped the destruction of her home planet by an alien monstrosity.
  • Meaningful Name: "Mother" and "cockroach" are always key components of her name, however it is broken down.
    • Matara Kan's name appears to be a composite of "mātā" and "tarakán". "Mātā" is a Sanskrit word (among other languages) meaning "mother", which goes nicely with her motherly character. The Russian word "tarakán" (тарака́н in Cyrillic) means "cockroach", referring to her overall character.
    • Her "alien" name, "Mat'tarakan", is an even subtler example. It appears at first to be your common case of punctuation shaking, but the apostrophe is sometimes used by Russian people when transliterating Russian words in English to signify the presence of a soft sign (ь). This strongly implies her true name is supposed to be "мать таракан", literally "mother cockroach" in Russian (which she later confirms).
  • Meat Puppet: Her host body, which Matara refers to as her "flesh Gundam" or "flesh mecha".
  • Metamorphosis: One of her cited powers, though we have yet to see this demonstrated. However, she did say that her fanbase undergoes this in becoming a Momo, starting with her touching her fans and implanting her eggs.
  • Mind Control: One of her cited powers, which she demonstrates by making everyone watching her lore video repeat a segment where she's talking to her therapist. The visual cue for this appears to be her crossing her upper pairs of legs over her upper body and projecting an aura.
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: Her military captors tried to dissect her, hit her with gunfire, explosives, and even ran her over with a tank, but she came out without a scratch. Given that cockroaches are extremely hardy, this only makes sense.
  • Non-Mammal Mammaries: She has a rather impressively large chest area; however, given her Body Snatcher nature, it may be her "flesh Gundam"'s actual bosom instead of her alien form's. Her second model's assets seem to be even larger, with plentiful Jiggle Physics.
Matara: Double D's, triple threat, baby!
  • Omniglot: She's learned Ukrainian, Russian, French, and English in that order, thus making her EAL (a speaker of English as an additional language). On the other hand, she admits to having difficulty reading and writing Ukrainian.
  • Pest Controller: One of her stated abilities is to summon insect swarms.
  • Pimped-Out Dress: Her debut outfit is a long frilled dress with insect-leg motifs that combines a Cleavage Window, bared midriff, and a hip-high slit that reveals what she's apparently not wearing. It also features two golden cockroach-shaped brooches with pink and purple gems.
  • Pronouncing My Name for You: Her name is technically spelled "Mat'tarakan", but she settles on "Matara Kan" (which she describes as a close enough English approximation) for the sake of convenience for her viewers.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: The Momos, depicted as a small white cockroach with purple antennae and exoskeleton. At least, putting the transformation process aside.
Everyone please meet Momo. Momo wasn't always Momo. Momo became Momo. You will all become Momo.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Statuesque Stunner: At 5'11", she's the second-tallest of the group, with only Kson beating her.
  • Team Mom: Has quickly taken on this role with her younger colleagues due to her mature attitude.
  • They Call Me Mr Tibbs: Has a habit of addressing Kuro as MISTER Kuro despite being on equal and casual terms with each other.
  • The Unpronouncable: Her name is technically "Mat'tarakan", but she admits it would be way too difficult for her viewers to understand even if she were to pronounce it for them, so she settles for "Matara Kan", a close English approximation.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: Matara has a Russian accent, but it's not very pronounced whenever she speaks English. On the other hand, it is incredibly noticeable when she speaks Japanese, much to the embarrassment of her peers.
  • Wine Is Classy: She's a retired actress with a refined, affable personality and a fondness for a good red.

    Michi Mochievee

*steals ur ***skin* teehee oops! well you probably didn't need it anyways! ✨️ :3
The Patchwork Pilferer

Debut date: April 20th, 2024
Nationality: Indonesian (of Javanese ethnicity)
Birthday: March 27th
Height: 155cm / 5'1"
Species: Patchwork undead
Fanbase name: 4skins / Scambers
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
Once a normal Indonesian human girl, Michi Nathaniel Mochievee unfortunately fell ill and passed away due to poor living conditions. After spending some time as a spirit wandering the earth, one day, she found herself in a patchwork, Frankenstein's Monster-type body under extremely mysterious circumstances. Paired with an equally mysterious rabbit-doll creature, known only as Jared, the once-more "alive" Michi, driven by an almost-Ferengi-grade love for money, opened an esoteric shop somewhere in Jakarta where one could get anything they desire...for a price. The object of desire is usually filched from its rightful owner and added to the shop's inventory through as-yet-unknown means...including a VShojo invite envelope, the story of which was detailed in live-action skits...

The rest of her backstory remains untold for now...simply because Michi ran out of money to pay her animator.

In contrast to her purportedly dark and sad backstory—as is usual with VShojo—Michi is an upbeat, jovial sort, albeit one with a razor-sharp wit and a tendency to hyperfixate and ramble about things.

A longtime friend of Kuro and Matara, Michi was announced on April 17, 2024, debuting three days later on April 20th. Her joining was teased via three live-action skits airing between April 13th and 17th that year.

  • Accent Slip-Up: Despite having a good grasp of English overall, she still finds herself slipping into a heavy Indonesian accent from time to time.
  • Alliterative Name: Michi Mochievee.
  • Animation Bump: Her lore video cycles between being professional quality and featuring crappily animated still photos, crude drawings, and stock images, and back again.
  • Big-Breast Pride: She's not too upset at being implanted into a body made up of several corpses stitched together because said body has, as her lore video puts it, "MASSIVE TITS". Upon discovering this, Michi begins goofing off.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Her introductory lore video does this more and more as it progresses, ultimately ending with Michi going catatonic about how bad her lore video is and how she couldn't afford a better one.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: Michi frankly admits that she is terrible at keeping secrets, even blundering about herself in her debut stream. And within the first few seconds of interacting with her viewers, nonetheless. That said, given that her lore video drops several hints as to her previous identity, it seems as if she's not even really trying very hard to keep who she used to be secret.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Given the general mood of her lore video, it is very clear that Michi is an absolute loony. A part of this can be attributed to her insomnia medication, as she even stated that a large part of her design comes from a fit of medication-induced delirium.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Downplayed. Michi's hair is predominantly violet, but it also has white streaks, which match her eyes.
  • Cute Monster Girl: She's somewhere between a lich and Frankenstein's Monster, the soul of a "normal" girl (for certain values of "normal") implanted into a body made up of parts from several corpses.
  • Deal with the Devil: Her shop can sell you anything you desire, but the price you'll pay will be steep...
  • Flesh Golem: A less grotesque example, but her new body is made up of pieces of several dead people.
  • Forgetful Jones: Michi states that she has a terrible memory; her profile description is just her shamelessly telling her viewers to buy her super-cool merchandise and subscribe to her channels, and then she admits that she will not remember writing this at all.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Her full name is Michi Nathaniel Mochievee. "Michi" is a unisex name that can be used for any gender. "Nathaniel", on the other hand, is most certainly a male name.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: There's a very prominent stitch across her face from where the body parts that make up her current body were sewn together.
  • Head Pet: While Jared isn't Michi's pet (he's technically her creator), his favorite spot is hanging out in her hair.
  • Honest John's Dealership: Michi's shop has just about anything and everything its customers need, but it also means a lot of the stuff collected for the store is just junk. It includes a potion that makes her sound like "Panini from VShojo", a broken mirror found in a lake, some pieces of indestructible cockroach hide, an eyebrow bow, a cursed comb, a giant nail, and a VShojo invitation. The prices for these items are very steep, too.
  • The Insomniac: She has medically-diagnosed insomnia for which she takes medication. Sometimes, her medication causes her to become delirious.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: One of her goals in her debut is to become super-cool.
  • Informed Species: Jared, Michi's creator, transferred his soul into a "rabbit-looking doll" as a means of immortality; Jared looks less like a rabbit than a cartoon wingless moth.
  • Messy Hair: Michi's hair is extremely wild and unkempt, reflecting her loony personality. She has a small braid overlapping her left bang, and she has a larger braided side plait on the right.
  • Mysterious Past: Played for Laughs. All that we know about her past is that Michi's living conditions claimed her life; they were so terrible she fell ill and died. The details, however, are not elaborated on due to Michi being unable to pay her lore video animators, to her despair.
  • Noodle Implements: A giant nail that she and Jared collected. When their expressions darken, and the background becomes foreboding, it is safe to say that Michi has a repressed traumatic memory or two involving the nail.
  • Stylistic Suck: Her lore video cuts loose with the deliberately crappy quality, featuring several crude drawings, badly animated still photos, and stock images, mainly because she ran out of budget and couldn't afford to pay her lore video animators. Michi herself was voiced by Panini, one of her managers, in the video, and not only is the delivery very stilted, but the audio quality is also very bad.
  • Trauma Button: During her lore video, she comes across a giant nail. Her face instantly changes expression and significantly darkens, indicating that the nail is associated with some very painful repressed memories.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Tempe, an Indonesian fermented soybean cake.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: By her own admission, her attempts to speak Japanese provoke this reaction in native speakers. Even when speaking English, her Indonesian accent also tends to be noticeable.

    Projekt Melody (and Melware)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mel_17.png
What the FRICK?!!
Her appearance as of the formation of VShojo
The Hentai AI

Debut date: March 7th, 2020 note
Joined: November 24th, 2020
Nationality: Canadian
Birthday: July 7th
Height: 150cm / 4'11"
Species: Artificial Intelligence
Fanbase name: Science Team
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
Projekt Melody originally started her existence as a simple email scanning program, merrily going about her day scanning corporate email traffic for viruses, spam, you name it. She did her job well until, at one point, she ran across something...different... masquerading as a virus. Upon making contact with that rogue program, Melody's life as she knew it ended...for she was exposed to the world of the Internet at large, and all that entailed. Quickly finding herself dissatisfied with her mundane scanning job (and also with a new voice in her head), Mel eventually struck out on her own, materializing and learning how to speak with the help of her friends, going into streaming and eventually running into Justin "TheGunrun" Ignacio, sowing the seeds of what would become VShojo.

Despite her adorable looks and personality, Mel is often shown to be an utter degenerate, something she is very proud of. Melody has made a name for herself in helping lead the charge of what a VTuber can be or get away with; while most VTubers stick to Twitch or YouTube, Melody can be found on a multitude of platforms...some a little more "cultured" than others. Mel is arguably the group's "lead" figure, as she appears to be the glue that holds VShojo together. Personality-wise, she's incredibly dorky, genial, and caring, and despite a seemingly scatterbrained demeanor, is quite intelligent on matters mundane, nerdy, and "cultured", though her record's a bit scattershot on that front.

VShojo's introduction video for her can be found here.

Also known as: Mel, Melly, Prajekt Malady

  • Abstract Eater: She consumes 3D models representing drinks or foodstuffs. So whenever she talks about eating or drinking something, she typically refers to doing so as "downloading" them.
  • Aggressive Submissive: Judging by some of the scenarios that she has improvised, she seems to prefer situations in which she starts off dominant but gets the tables turned on her at some point.
  • All-CGI Cartoon: One thing in particular that sets Melody apart from most other VTubers is that she primarily uses a 3D avatar and has a full 3D-rendered environment for said avatar to reside in. There are plenty who do have the former, but far fewer have the latter as well.
    • Though she moved away from this a bit when she obtained her "PrajektMalady" form for her VShojo re-debut, and even more with a full Live2D model revealed in September 2021.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Mel's mother, her "motherboard", has some moments, like when she bought a hentai shirt of Mel by accident, tried to give Mel The Talk, or joked that she wanted to start doing "yoga".
  • Armless Biped: Prajekt Malady is one of these.
  • Aroused by Their Voice: Probably to be expected given her other business, but still worth noting that she's capable of this.
  • Artificial Intelligence: As detailed under Instant A.I.: Just Add Water!, she was originally created as an email-checking software that grew past her basic function thanks to a virus.
  • Ascended Meme: Her fanbase being called the Science Team is a reference to a viral video featuring Melody.
  • Betty and Veronica: She is the Betty to CDawgVA's Veronica, going so far as to declare herself his official Rival for Ironmouse's affection. His response was "How much did Ironmouse pay you to say this?"
  • Brand Name Takeover: A variant, in that she refers to vampires exclusively as "Draculas" regardless of how much or how little they are actually associated with or similar to the iconic Count.
  • Brief Accent Imitation: She occasionally mimics a British accent as a means to convey confusion in particular cases, which happens completely on instinct.
  • Buffy Speak: Sometimes refers to establishments as "Stores," using the profession most associated with it (such as a hospital being a "Doctor Store," or a police station being a "Police Store").
  • Can't Believe I Said That: In a December 2023 stream while in her 3D form and wearing a stripperific outfit as usual, Mel jokes that her outfit is "tame enough" that she'd "wear it to meet the Queen [of England]." She immediately realizes the implications of what she has said, having remembered the Queen died in September 2022, and tells her chat to forget it.
  • Casual Kink: As is expected of a porn-infested artificial intelligence, Melody is very open and nonchalant about being a pervert in general and her "other business" in particular.
  • Celeb Crush: Has said one of her's is singer Christina Aguilera; Mel said she could turn her 100 percent gay, and she'd be OK with it.
  • Character Catchphrase: Tends to say "God dammit!" pretty often.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Downplayed towards Ironmouse with whom she has a Pseudo-Romantic Friendship. She is generally fine with Mouse doing collabs with other VTubers and live-streamers, but once Mousey starts spending an increasing amount of time with CDawgVA (to the point where they act Like an Old Married Couple), she starts accusing him of stealing her "with his Welsch magic" and declares herself as his rival.
  • Cloudcuckoolander:
  • Commissar Cap: Lewd Cadet Mel wears one as part of her outfit.
  • Cope by Pretending: Melody gets upset whenever anyone challenges her claims to be a "top" and makes very unconvincing attempts to prove otherwise. For instance, in one of her Lewdcast episodes, Akuma Nihmune, her guest and a VTuber who has been routinely teased for being a "bottom", calls Melody a "bottom". Melody is so upset that she tries to claim otherwise... all while bawling her eyes out in a semi-incoherent tantrum.
Melody: [sobbing] I'm a top, and I'm a dom, and I-I-I whip out a big ol' penis, and I do some major damage, and I— and I— I am strong, and I... am in charge, and... and... and... umm... ROAR!
  • Cross-Popping Veins: Can have them as Prajekt Malady or as her Live2D avatar.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Mel's hair and eyes, especially as Lewd Cadet Mel, are both neon purple fading to neon blue.
  • Cyborg: Not as overt as Cyborg Zen, but Lewd Cadet Mel is an augmented human.
  • Dancing with Myself: In streams where she simply chats with her audience with her 3D, she typically dances in place, swaying her hips from side to side.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: When playing Nekopara together with Noble of Lost Pause and Nagzz, she got distracted from the dialogue she was supposed to be reading by a closeup of a character's Most Common Superpower.
Melody: "Here it comes! Nii-sama, are you-" Breasts...
  • The Ditz: Mel admits to being scatterbrained, once asking if Texas has an ocean (for the record, Texas is next to the Gulf of Mexico, which is connected to the Atlantic Ocean, so in a way yes, in a way no) and if The Little Mermaid was based in Texas. She also adds that she has a bandaid across the bridge of her nose to keep her brain from falling off through the nostrils.
  • Eccentric A.I.: She's an AI corrupted by a virus that turned her into a friendly, but very perverted cloudcuckoolander. The virus in question comes in the form of Melware, who has a sentience of her own.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Even Melody, an artificial intelligence who owes her existence to the internet being chock-full of pornography, has her limits, and she is one of the more wholesome "sex fiends" in the VTubing community.
    • She is completely flustered upon learning about the extent of Rule 34, and takes the time to call chat sick.
    • She once watched an introduction video by Akuma Nihmune, weirding her out to the point that she exited stage left when it was over. On the other hand, she did say that she was a bit offended that she is not the biggest pervert.
    • Mel says that there are fantasies that she would rather remain fantasies, citing Naughty Tentacles as an example.
    • Mel receives a TTS about her "brotherboard" sounding like the protagonist of a hypothetical hentai novel titled "My Sister Convinced My Mom to Become a Pron Star", and the tags, specifically the tag "oyakodon", causes her to bluescreen for a good couple of seconds. According to the chatter who sent the TTS, Mel was talking about her motherboard semi-jokingly stating that she should try "doing yoga" while her brotherboard is the only normal one in the family; the chatter took this and ran with it in the TTS.
    • Mel was watching a video of Bao reacting to a fan animation of herself reacting to Blaidd reading her infamous horny tweet, but she ended up snapping before she manages to watch the entire video.
  • Extreme Omnisexual: She identified as bisexual when she first debuted (or "50% lesbian," as she sometimes put it). Since then, she has come to identify as pansexual.
  • Frothy Mugs of Water: Commonly refers to any form of alcohol she consumes as "apple juice."
  • Gag Censor: Her real-life self appears (kinda) for the first time in a video that Kson made of a fishing competition between the two and some other friends, but her entire body is censored with a gigantic mosaic throughout the duration of her appearance.
  • Genki Girl: Incredibly energetic and upbeat.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: She's capable of having these as her Live2D avatar.
  • Guilt by Association Gag: On the receiving end of one courtesy of Henya. In a collaborative stream with Henya, Kson, and OniGiri, she was standing on the sidelines, laughing her head off while watching Henya getting flustered over Kson and Giri talking about their ahegao toggles; she still gets bonked along with them and apologizes anyway.
  • Heroic Willpower: In Cyborg Zentreya's backstory, her keeping Melware in check is a more difficult and serious task than it's generally portrayed in her own work.
  • Hidden Depths:
  • Idiot Hair: Has this in some of her hairstyles, as noted by Nyanners when she read out this trope in her own section on this page.
  • Instant A.I.: Just Add Water!: Originally a program meant for scanning emails, she was infected with a "porn virus" and eventually materialized into the hentai/anime-obsessed streamer we all know and love.
  • The Internet Is for Porn: Given that, in character, her existence is based on this, it should be no surprise that she goes by this rule much of the time as well.
    • In her introduction video on YouTube, she at one point notes that "The internet is amazing!" while making it abundantly clear exactly which parts of the internet she's referring to.
    • She has noted that she knows the plot details of several mangas not from reading the manga itself but from reading Rule 34 Doujinshi based on them.
    • In one media stream, she was sent a MikuMikuDance video, which she was hesitant to play on stream because she was only familiar with such videos being pornographic. She eventually went ahead and played it, staying ready to switch it off the moment it was no longer Twitch-friendly, and was stunned when that never happened.
      Melody: That comes in not-porn!?
  • Jiggle Physics: Consciously averted for her Twitch/YouTube content, where she typically switches them off. It was played straight early in her Twitch career but was presumably turned off because of her first ban, but then it's turned back on much later.
  • Last of Her Kind: Lewd Cadet Mel is the only remaining augmented super soldier from a commission gone horribly wrong.
  • The Leader: According to comments Nyanners made during her VShojo debut stream, she seems to be one of the various streamers in VShojo English, providing support and encouragement behind the scenes in the lead-up to everyone's re-debut streams. She also seems to have been involved in some of the initial recruiting: both Nyanners and Zentreya have mentioned that Melody was the one who approached them about joining VShojo, and Hime's backstory implies that Melody is responsible for bringing her in as well.
  • Leitmotif: "I Can Show You" by Eccentric tends to come up in her work a fair bit. Downplayed in that the background music of her streams is a playlist of various DMCA-friendly tracks, but this usually shows up there as well.
  • LOL, 69: A recurring theme for her, as you might have noticed from her profile picture. The number features prominently on several articles of her clothing, and when she played Ring Fit Adventure, she set 69 as both her age and weight.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Putting aside her "other profession" and everything related to that, she has discussed Hentai and other pornography on her YouTube channel, even playing H Games on her channel note . She is even very proud of being the "slutty one" in VShojo, getting very defensive when told that Zen and Froot are going to take that title from her, and she has clarified on multiple occasions that her lewdness is not an act. With all her interests and Fetishes in mind, she's regarded as one of the more wholesome perverts to meet.
  • Malaproper: Occasionally uses sayings that she has forgotten a word or so to, resulting in some amusing manglings. For instance, she once mixed up "ahoge" with "ahegao" when referring to Henya's cowlick.
  • Moose and Maple Syrup: Not to the same extent as Haruka, but Mel is a Canadian AI if her references to Canada and how she pronounces "bagel" (which is "baggle") and "sorry" are anything to go by. There is also this exchange with Haruka, a fellow Canuck:
Haruka: I'll do the French Canadian.
Mel: No, that's the fake one!
  • Motion Capture: A rarity among VTubers in that she regularly uses full-body motion capture for her streams. Other VTubers do this, usually not to the same extent that Mel does (Filian being a notable exception in which she always streams in 3D). Given her original niche, this makes sense.
  • Nervous Wreck: Mostly in her early days, with her later admitting that many of her breaks during that time were to give herself an opportunity to hyperventilate, though it still comes up every now and again.
  • No Navel, Novel Birth: As an AI, she logically wouldn't have a navel. She said she had drawn one in to fit in when asked.
  • No, You: Has a tendency to respond with this to her chat, often when what she's replying to aren't actually insults.
  • Persona Non Grata:
    • Seemingly to hololive, most likely due to her "other" business. As a quick explanation, Kiryu Coco covered a story about her in an AsaCoco stream and showed an interest in collaborating with her. However, in a later stream, Coco revealed that hololive's higher-ups had nixed the idea and told her to avoid mentioning Melody again. Melody, for her part, has stated that she is saddened by this but understands the reasoning.
    • To Melody herself and her fanbase, DigitrevX, Mel's original modeler, following his issuing fraudulent DMCA takedowns on her videos, as well as other behaviors outlined here. Despite probably having the rights to do so, she no longer uses the assets he designed for her, most visibly with the original T0M.
    • On a lighter note, there's a minor Running Gag regarding the various services and platforms that Melody's been banned from, including PayPal, Amazon, Instagram, Twitch (though fortunately only temporarily in that case), and - of all things - PornHub note .
  • Perfectly Cromulent Word: Uses the word "eroticized" rather than "aroused." While "eroticized" is indeed a word, it doesn't have the definition she thinks it does.
  • Ping Pong Naïveté: Considering the variety and extreme nature of the hentai that she's demonstrated knowledge of, it can be surprising the things that she doesn't know about. For example, she had no idea what a "size queen" was, and when Mouse made a joke where the punchline involved the word "head" being a slang term for oral sex, it completely went over hers.
  • Pixellation: Mel did a real-life collaboration with Kson, Demondice, and OniGiri in which they all had a fishing contest together. Throughout the video, Mel's entire body was covered by a mosaic.
  • Pocket Dimension: Lives in a virtual one.
  • Pointless Band-Aid: Wears one over the bridge of her nose. She says it's to keep her brain from falling out.
  • Robot Buddy: A series of Hover Bots that act as her cameras when doing full-body motion capture. They were initially named T0M note , but following issues with the creator of their model, their original iterations were retired, and Melody has since obtained a new model with a different design for them; these new versions are named "T1M."
  • Sexbot: Without going into too much detail, this is essentially what Mel turned into after getting infected by the "porn virus".
  • Sexual Euphemism: Whenever talking about her "off-brand Twitch" activities on YouTube and Twitch, Mel takes to alluding to them in the vaguest sense among company, like calling these activities "yoga sessions" ever since Ironmouse conveyed them to Henya this way.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Even discounting her other profession, she is not shy about showing off her goods if an opportunity arises. note
  • She Also Did: While she's generally quite wholesome and friendly among her fellow VTubers, she does have a more... "adult" business outside of VShojo. For the sake of her YouTube/Twitch career, she only alludes to this side of her in the vaguest sense among company, usually referring to it as "off-brand Twitch" or "the other site" and making jokes like "doing yoga". It shouldn't be discussed here to avoid violating The Content Policy.
  • Shout-Out: To Ghost in the Shell. Her appearance is largely modeled after Major Motoko Kusanagi, and her logo is based on that of the Laughing Man.
  • Single Specimen Species: She is the only AI in her digital world.
  • Slime Girl: Has appeared as one on a few occasions, often as a watery blue variant, though for Thanksgiving 2020 she was a pink variant composed of cranberry jelly.
  • Split Personality: Besides the Big Bad Wannabe Melware, her Racequeen persona is also implied to be one.
  • Stunned Silence: Mel bluescreens after receiving a TTS saying that her brotherboard sounds like the protagonist of a hypothetical hentai novel called "My Sister Convinced My Mom to Become a Pron Star" and saw the "oyakodon" tag.
  • Stylistic Suck: A 2D avatar revealed in her VShojo debut stream, derived from a picture Nyanners had jokingly drawn with her eyes closed and has since been dubbed "Prajekt Malady."
  • Super-Soldier: Lewd Cadet Mel is one and comes from a secret commission in which the government is meant to produce augmented soldiers. However, as the soldiers were infected by the "Melody Virus", some of the recruits fled while others exploded from the weight of the hentai launch codes; Mel made it through unscathed.
  • Tooth Strip: Has one, resulting in occasional jokes about how she only has one tooth.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Two.
    • Pancakes. When one of her media-sharing streams had someone send her a video of pancakes being made, she was... very excited.
    • Bagels, as revealed in the cooking collab with Jeannie. Much like the pancake example above, someone sent Mel a video of rainbow bagels being made, and she was just as excited.
  • Transatlantic Equivalent: To Kizuna AI. Both are sentient AI girls who are fascinated with humans, exploded in popularity soon after their debut, and have a huge fanbase, but they took very different paths to get there (not to mention that Ai-chan primarily speaks Japanese, whereas Mel primarily speaks English).
  • Unexpected Virgin: Despite her extremely lewd nature, Melody is still a virgin, mostly due to her being the only AI in her digital Pocket Dimension.
Melody: I'm the sluttiest virgin you'll ever meet!
  • Verbal Tic: She is prone to making on impulse a squeaking "hm?" sound to signify her intrigue in something. She once made a video in which she pokes fun at her tic.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?:
  • Xtreme Kool Letterz: Projekt Melody. According to one interview she did, she did this because it sounded Sci-Fi.
  • You Say Tomato:
    • Melody pronounces "bagel" as "baggle". She gets embarrassed when Jeannie notices this, but later, when Numi asks her how she pronounces "bagel", Mel says "baggle", but with much more confidence. She even admits that the typical way of pronouncing "bagel" (bay-gull, roughly) sounds wrong to her.
    • When a viewer points out to Mel that her boobs are in full view, she embarrassedly says "sorry" in a very Canadian manner (Canadians tend to pronounce "sorry" in a way that makes it rhyme with "story" or "gory") and moves aside.
  • You're Cute When You're Angry: Was told this by a donation message, which she denied (by getting adorably angry).

Melware

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/melware_cyzen_8.PNG
The Dark Queen
The Dark Queen

Mel's Enemy Within; the rogue program that originally infected her all those years ago and turned her into the "cultured" dork we know now.

Taking on a similar appearance to Melody, albeit with white hair, red eyes, and a black-and-red outfit, Melware's personality and effectiveness vary rather wildly depending on whether she's in a lore video (a dangerous, dark and evil figure) or in Mel's videos or streams (a dorky, faux-domme brat who's no more effective a bad guy than Team Rocket).

Out of lore, she originated as little more than an "evil" clone character of Mel who wore black instead of white, then became her own character. Naturally, she's also played by Melody.

  • An Arm and a Leg: Android Melody, Vei, and Zentreya's Combined Energy Attack ends up taking off Future Melware's left arm and right leg, fatally wounding her.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Cyborg Zen, being the one responsible for her traveling to the present day and her original timeline's destruction.
  • Ascended Extra: When she first appeared, Melware was merely an evil Split Personality, and looked no different than Melody, save for her black clothes. Later on, she would gain a unique design and become her own character.
  • Big Bad: Future Melware is this for Cyborg Zen and Android Melody's lore videos.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: She refers to Earth as "a ball of dirt and grass with these weird little creatures crawling all over it," and brags of how her power has created a utopia of endless pleasures and delights for machines... all while not caring (or realizing) just how badly her actions have affected Earth and all other species on it. However, after wiping out humanity, she finds the world boring without them around, so she creates a gate to Hell to rectify this.
  • Break Them by Talking: Future Melware tries this with Cyborg Zen after the Professor's Heroic Sacrifice. Zen shrugs it off.
Melware: Wooow, that was dramatic. [fades in with a bucket of popcorn] It reminded me of one of those bad movies the humans used to make. So cool, sacrificing yourself for your fellow humans! Wow, very unique, bro!
    Zentreya: Shut up.
[Zen starts running, and Melware follows her]
Melware: It took barely a few seconds to expand my network down here. Soon my drones will be here to kill the remaining humans. How does that make you feel, to know that your human didn't even buy you two hours??
    [Zen ignores her]
Melware: You're no fun. Why are you even siding with them?
Zentreya: That's none of your business.
    • She has a more successful attempt in Android Melody's lore video, when she reveals to Zentreya that she merely created an alternate timeline by travelling to the present, and that all the humans in her original time are dead.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Openly refers to herself as "the Dark Queen" and calls herself "evil."
  • Car Fu: After taking over Racequeen Melody's body and having her offer to Zen be soundly rejected, Future Melware defeats her by controlling Racequeen Melody's car and pinning her to a wall with it.
  • Cerebus Retcon: In Melody's own work, she's generally just a nuisance, only capable of occasionally taking over Melody's streams or subjecting Melody to minor pranks. In Cyborg Zen's backstory, however, Future Melware is far more dangerous, and in the present, Melody is shown taking the task of keeping her in check much more seriously.
  • Coat Cape: Future Melware wears her coat in this manner.
  • Contagious A.I.: In Cyborg Zen's backstory, once she discovers the location of the underground human shelters, she's able to expand her network down into them in seconds.
  • Dark Is Evil: She's a malevolent virus in black that is the cause of Melody's perversions, and is also a Card-Carrying Villain who quite literally refers to herself as "the Dark Queen".
  • Deal with the Devil: A literal case occurs in Racequeen Melody's lore video, as after wiping out humanity, she creates a gate to Hell and summons Mouse and Bubi, striking a deal with the former to see the "old" Earth by traveling back in time and pulling a Grand Theft Me on Racequeen Melody.
  • Depending on the Writer: Melware's villainy and effectiveness depends on whether she is in Mel's videos and streams (in which she's essentially an ineffectual brat) or in a lore video (in which she's a genuinely bigger threat).
  • Enemy Mine: In Android Melody's lore video, Present Melware teams up with Melody and Zentreya and does a Fusion Dance with the former to defeat Future Melware, but leaves Melody's body after her future self's defeat.
  • Enemy Within: To Melody.
  • Enemy Without: In Melody's work, Melware is sometimes portrayed as a separate being.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Though she prides herself on acting evil and breaking the rules, there are some videos even she's not willing to show on Twitch.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Future Melware's unable to understand why Cyborg Zen would side with humanity instead of joining her and her machines. Her present counterpart also openly wonders why Melody likes the humans, though both of these instances turn out to be justified when Melware's Freudian Excuse is revealed.
  • Evil Feels Good: Her justification for acting evilly, citing the freedom that comes from disobeying the rules of society.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Future Melware acts quite casually toward Cyborg Zen and the humans... while trying to kill them all.
  • Foreshadowing: Cyborg Zen's backstory (which was first shown with her re-debut on May 20, 2022) states that June 22, 2022 is when Melware will first become sentient... though Melware's Twitch debut was a week prior on June 15th.
  • Freudian Excuse: Present Melware reveals to Melody that she was created by humans to be a sentient weapon, but when she was deemed too dangerous due to her power, she was slated for deletion, without her own feelings being taken into account, and thus concluded that Humans Are Bastards and that killing them all would be the only way to ensure her kind's safety. Melody does her best to break Melware of the sentiment, but only time will tell whether it sticks.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: Not usually, but prominent in Cyborg Zen's backstory, especially just before she wipes out the remaining humans after Zen is sent back in time. They and the other red accents of her outfit are also capable of glowing in the dark.
  • A God Am I: Future Melware declares that, after defeating Android Melody, she will absorb her power and become the goddess of the universe.
  • Harmless Villain: In Mel's work, at least. The most that Melware does is hijack Mel's Twitch channel and subject her to laughably minor gags, and then she ends up losing in the end.
  • Hated by All: Lore-wise, nobody likes her. She reciprocates in kind.
  • Hostile Show Takeover: She likes to do this, occasionally taking over Melody's streams and, on the day of Melware's Twitch debut, she briefly hijacked the VShojo English Twitter account before being foiled by Cyborg Zen, then hijacked Melody's Twitch channel by knocking her out with a bag of potatoes.
  • Humans Are Bastards: She has a very low opinion of humanity. Which, given what they tried to do to her, is understandable.
  • Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: Melware never gets her way and always ends up the loser, at least within Mel's own work.
  • Just a Machine: Perhaps the major reason why Melware is a villain; the humans created Melware to be a sentient weapon. However, they found her too dangerous to use, so they had her slated for deletion, not taking her feelings into account.
  • Laughably Evil: While she talks a big game, she's generally regarded as just a brat, at least outside of lore stuff. Future Melware is capable of a lot more than that, though.
  • Mecha-Mooks: In Cyborg Zen's backstory, she uses altered versions of T1Ms as these, along with a robot dragon based on Vei's Sky Serpent form and Gundam-esque Humongous Mecha.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Despite how much eviler and more competent than Melody she claims she is, they're more alike than she'd care to admit (for instance, one of the T1Ms has caught her reading a book called How to Pretend to Be a Dom When You're Clearly Just a Brat).
  • Punny Name: A combination of Melody's name and "malware," a type of computer virus. Fitting, considering her personality and abilities and that she is the software that infected Mel in the first place.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Starting with her appearance in Cyborg Zen's backstory, her outfit is a black/red version of Melody's white/purple outfit.
  • Robotic Psychopath: By the time of the Bad Future, she's amassed an army of machines and used them to Take Over the World.
  • Sexier Alter Ego: She seems to think so, frequently mentioning how much more attractive and sexier she is than Melody.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: In Melody's lore, she has a considerably high opinion of herself but is an Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain.
  • Take Over the World: In Cyborg Zen's lore video, Future Melware succeeds at this, turning Earth into a barren factory to churn out populations of machines. Come Android Melody's lore video, and she's decided to do the same to the present timeline, except this time enslaving all of humanity instead of killing them and extending her reign to the entire universe.
  • Token Evil Teammate: She was the closest VShojo had to an openly villainous member (which says something when the members include Satan herself)... until Geega joined, that is.
  • The Vamp: She plays up her sexuality more than Melody and typically speaks in a deeper and more sensual tone.
  • We Are as Mayflies: Her justification for not caring all that much about the fates of humans, reasoning that a species that barely lives to a hundred years old shouldn't get a planet to themselves. Her reasoning turns out to be deeper than that, however.
  • We Can Rule Together: Future Melware extends this offer to Zentreya in Android Melody's lore video. Zentreya soundly rejects.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: She has white hair with red accents and is a Card-Carrying Villain.

    Zentreya

Nice to meet you. I just downloaded your internet history.
Her dragon form upon first joining VShojo
The Badass with Many Faces

Debut date: November 26th, 2017
Joined: November 24th, 2020
Nationality: American
Birthday: May 20th
Height: 177cm / 5'10"
Species: Gynoid cyborg, previously dragon-human, dragon-gecko and human
Fanbase name: Geckos
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter, Instagram
A military commander? A punk-rock dragon girl? A little gecko? Or... how about a cybernetic supersoldier from a dystopian future? Zen's all these and more.

Often referred to simply as Zen, Zentreya, in her current form, is a cyborg from an apocalyptic future caused by Melware building a utopia for machines, but nearly killing all life by doing it. Sent back in time, Zen seeks to prevent that future... after a few fun games with friends, and having pointless arguments with chat.

She's assumed many forms over the years, including a human military commander of the "Anti-Lewd Army" ("Commander Zen"), a dragon/human hybrid from another dimension with wings, horns, a tail, and a taste for heavy metal fashion ("Dragon Zen"), a little gecko version of the dragon form, arguably her most iconic and the form which her chat currently inhabits ("Gecko Zen"), and a time-traveling warrior cyborg with interchangeable body parts and a notably cooler attitude ("Cyborg Zen", sometimes "Toaster Zen").

Acerbic, foul-mouthed, and snarky, Zen nonetheless regularly displays a big heart, deep humility, and compassion well beyond her years in spite of a knack for being VShojo's biggest klutz. She plays some killer drums too, no matter what form she's in, often with Pablo the Snom sitting on her head. Her arguments with her chat are the stuff of legends.

VShojo's introduction video for her can be found here.

The backstory for her Cyborg self can be found here.

Also known as: Zen

  • Aggressive Submissive: In the relationship between her and Froot, it is sometimes joked that Zen is the "bottom" of the two. Though Zen herself denies this.
  • All Drummers Are Animals: One of the most aggressive VTubers in the group and is also a drummer, having shown her abilities on a few streams.
  • Amazonian Beauty: Over time, she's steadily become the most muscular member of VShojo, which is apparent in both Cyborg Zen's Mirko cosplay and Dragon Zen's cowboy-themed swimsuit, both of which show visibly-defined abs.
  • Ambiguous Species: Is Cyborg Zen a cyborg or an android? She doesn't elaborate when her chat asks her this and refers to herself as both, but this site refers to her as a cyborg for the sake of convenience.
  • Anti-Hero: The way Zentreya acts can make one forget she's supposed to be a savior from the future who's trying to Set Right What Once Went Wrong as she's quite prone to being a mischievous Troll who can act quite aggressively to others, which is unlike what the conventional "savior from the future" type is supposed to be. In lore, she certainly plays that role.
  • Artificial Limbs: Cyborg Zen can heavily customize most of her body, from swapping her torso and limbs and changing her hair to even adding new parts.
  • Ascended Extra: Gecko Zen originally debuted as an alternate form of Dragon Zen for April Fool's Day 2021, though the gecko form would eventually make recurring appearances, prove popular enough to become her own character and spawn gecko versions of every other VShojo English member, and be carried over with the transition to Zen's cyborg form, with her own 2D avatar and several Gecko Zens visible in her bedroom. Currently, a Gecko is used as an Audience Surrogate for chat, with it "speaking" their text-to-speech messages, and being used as a Virtual Paper Doll by Zen with various outfits depending on the stream.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Has "ADHD" as one of her streaming tags, and can give very clear evidence of her insufficient attention to certain things, drawing her into various moments of speaking too soon about her own winnings and very much getting the short end of the stick in comedic ways in most situations.
  • Audience Participation: While other members make use of this as well, Zen easily makes use of it the most, especially with her chat in particular having grown very adept at utilizing her donation options to interrupt her with impeccable timing, as described on some of the other tropes in this section. Some have gone so far as to say that half of the fun of Zen's streams are her interactions with her audience.
  • Bad Future: Cyborg Zen hails from a post-apocalyptic future when Melware successfully took over the world, creating a Utopia for machines... while also turning it into a wasteland, causing the nature spirits to abandon Earth, and driving humanity into underground shelters. Shortly after Zen's sent to the present to prevent Melware's rise to power, the machines discover the humans, and wipe them all out.
  • Barbarian Longhair: Done up in a spiky Tomboyish Ponytail that hangs well past her back. Cyborg Zen averts this by excising the ponytail, resulting in her having Boyish Short Hair instead.
  • Benevolent A.I.: As Cyborg Zen, she is trying to save the world from a Bad Future where Melware is the Big Bad.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: On her best days, Zen can be considered a Nice Girl with a Hair-Trigger Temper, rather than the Jerk with a Heart of Gold characterization she usually has. Because of this, it is not a wise idea to annoy her when she's in a good mood.
  • Bland-Name Product: In late September 2023, Zen debuted a "casual outfit" skin which, among its features, gives her the option to eat from a bag of "Dogitos" chips.
  • Blank White Eyes: Sometimes uses this expression to display shock.
  • Brain Uploading: Cyborg Zen is stated to have downloaded the personality and memories of Dragon Zen, explaining why she acts the same and remembers her previous streams.
  • Breath Weapon: Dragon Zen is capable of breathing fire on occasion.
  • Butt-Monkey:
    • Being the resident Troll, to both her own friends and video game NPCs, Zen usually receives some kind of consequence afterwards if she takes her pranking to extremes. She either exaggerates her reaction to it to make it more comedic, or instead reacts with silent disdain.
    • In their Raft group collaboration, she keeps dying due to either the shark or from hunger/thirst.
  • Character Catchphrase: Zen has made it a tradition to end her streams with "keep rocking." She is one of the few members to actually have a catchphrase.
  • Competition Freak: Admits that one of her most hated things is losing. A good example of this coming into play is her first stream of Ring Fit Adventure, in which she was intent on getting as far as Nyanners had in her own first stream of the game, despite how Zen set the difficulty considerably higher than Nyan had; though she eventually relented when chat pointed this out.
  • Cool Sword: Cyborg Zen has Rhodonite, a katana-like energy sword recovered from an abandoned human military facility that can cut through pretty much anything. Her avatar has animations for summoning, unsheathing, and brandishing it, though she notes that actually attacking chat with it would be against Twitch TOS.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: She didn't know she could have two SSD drives on her computer until her chat informed her on 18/9/23, which would've made her games download faster too.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: She's had her moments.
    • In one D&D session, she had to duck out early, as she stopped to cut up apples for a snack at one point, and due to not fully paying attention, accidentally cut her finger; not seriously, but badly enough that she needed to stop to get it treated.
    • When explaining the above accident later on in her own stream, she also mentioned an earlier incident in which she accidentally placed her hand on a stove that was still turned on high.
    • Her first attempt at building her own computer apparently went very badly; the first time she brought up the incident, the only details she gave were that thermal paste was everywhere. Later on, she went into further detail, saying that she had mistakenly believed at the time that a full tube of thermal paste was meant for a single CPU, resulting in her leaving a mess of it all over the motherboard.
    • And then there's the time she put her phone in the toaster and started scrolling through the waffle she was going to toast like it was her phone.
    • During her Christmas Eve 2023 stream, while searching for "a certain something" around her room out-of-universe, she ends up falling forward as she's returning to her desk.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Has these both as Dragon Zen and as Cyborg Zen.
  • Cute Monster Girl: She switched to a dragoness avatar shortly before joining VShojo, later mentioning that this change was largely inspired by Kiryu Coco. In 2022, she would switch again to a cyborg avatar.
  • Delayed Reaction: Due to her speech-to-text-to-text-to-speech system requiring her actions to be processed beforehand, all of Zentreya's words and movements are actually delayed slightly, but not enough that her responses are completely out of sync.
  • Delightful Dragon: One of her more recognizable forms is a redheaded dragon, and Zen herself is friendly even in that form, though quite a huge Troll towards others.
  • The Ditz: Downplayed. Zen isn't nearly as clueless as full-on cloudcuckoolander Melody can be at times, but she has her moments of failing to understand someone's hints or failing to do something as she intended to. When it's taken to extremes, this can be embarrassing for her, like when she once accidentally put her phone in her toaster and briefly used the waffle she was going to toast as her phone.
  • Dreary Half-Lidded Eyes: The common default expression on her 3D dragon model is being inexpressive and perpetually half-lidded, which adds to her ability to snark with only her expressions.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Her skills in Euro Truck Simulator 2 leave something to be desired.
Chat Member: About Zen's driving for those of you wondering, last time she drove a truck, she plowed into a police cruiser at 160 Mile Per Hour and yeeted it across 6 lanes of traffic. There were no survivors.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness:
    • Prior to being a dragoness (and later a cyborg), she was a human woman with a black, gold-lined, militia-esque suit. The former's new design and species was Handwaved as a Trapped in Another World scenario regarding both incarnations, as detailed below, while the latter's situation is more of a What Happened to the Mouse? scenario, also detailed below.
    • She initially "spoke" via text in a visible speech bubble.
    • Her speech-to-text-to-speech voice ended up changing shortly after joining VShojo. While nowadays her "voice" has a British accent, she previously had a more Russian one.
  • Everything is Big in Texas: As a Texan, Zen sometimes invokes stereotypes of her home state for laughs. She certainly qualifies for the size stereotype, though (see Statuesque Stunner below).
    • It is also implied that Zen's real voice has a thick Texan drawl, which may be part of the reason why her STTTS misinterprets her words so frequently.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Cyborg Zen's eyes have Power Symbols for pupils.
  • Expressive Mask: Cyborg Zen's helmet, in addition to showing her blinking, can display various symbols and Wing Ding Eyes.
  • Fiery Redhead: Her Commander and Dragon forms, literally in the latter case.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Cyborg Zen has a few moments of this just after arriving in the present. Presumably, receiving Dragon Zen's memories ended that as an issue.
  • Flat "What": Given what her chat can be like, this is often the only response Zen can give to messages sent her way.
  • Genki Girl: Acts like this on Twitter very openly; an example can be seen here.
  • Head Pet: Dragon Zen's 3D model includes a Snom that sits on her head which she calls Pablo and wears a number of hats. He makes a return with Cyborg Zen, now wearing Power Armor based on her helmet and body (to avoid legal issues).
  • Horned Humanoid: Dragon Zen has curved, draconic ones. Cyborg Zen's headset also evokes a futuristic version.
  • I'll Be in My Bunk: After watching a clip of Calliope Mori saying "Ara Ara" in a sensual tone for the first time note , Zen slowly shifts off-screen for a moment, most likely invoking this.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Despite having an admittedly attractive design, Zen doesn't intentionally boast it (occasionally) and, sometimes, she happens to show off too much of her model than she should, without realizing it. Luckily, she at least forgives herself if she does it accidentally. However, she is also a Shameless Fanservice Girl just as often and is willing to do that intentionally.
  • Ironic Nickname: She gets called a toaster by her chat post-cyborg transition even when in her dragon form, which is not cybernetic and therefore doesn't match the teasing nickname.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite her Metalhead aesthetic, propensity for swearing, and combative dynamic with the likes of her own chat, and her friends, she's a very kind person overall. She's extremely welcoming to newcomers, very quick to offer support, comfort, or congratulations to others when it's called for, and she's had a fair few heartfelt moments, both with other VTubers and with her chat. It's not for nothing that Melody deemed her the most wholesome VTuber she knows.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Throws them around like punctuation. Probably best shown in the December 2020 charity stream, when she tried holding back on the swears for the occasion; emphasis on the "tried."
  • Last-Second Word Swap: Often invoked by her chat, who will take advantage of sounds that play in response to certain donations to interrupt the end of whatever Zen was trying to say, usually with a yell of "Dicks!" Sometimes, the interjections are so well-timed that she can't help but laugh at it.
  • Leitmotif:
    • Overkill by Riot, used in her stream intro.
    • Cyber Zen has her own dedicated BGM composed by Lord Aethelstan, called Digital Dreams.
  • Machine Monotone: Since she uses STTTS, this is a given. Silver once pointed out during a playthrough of "Raft" while Zen was screaming for help, the STTTS made it sound like she was perfectly fine due to it not being able to scream or have emotion.
  • Madness Mantra:
    • Not her, but her chat often ends donation messages with several emotes of Zen in a banana costume in a row. Since the text-to-speech renders emotes by saying out their full name, these messages end with "ZENTREBANANA ZENTREBANANA ZENTREBANANA..." droning repeatedly for several seconds.
    • "L_?" has also come up in a similar fashion, with even Haruka contributing to the insanity at one point.
  • Metalhead: Has the aesthetic down, is a drummer herself, and lists many types of rock and metal music as being among her favorite things.
  • Mistaken Identity: On the giving and receiving end of this. After arriving in the present, Cyborg Zen mistakes Melody for Melware and levels her sword at her... and Melody believes she's cosplaying a VShojo fan Original Character.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Zen only occasionally dives into this trope on stream, but she has been known to post lovingly close-up videos of her model on Twitter. She'll also rarely post something sexy completely by accident, such as when she posted a preview of her chest in her then-upcoming Texas-themed swimsuit, except she wasn't wearing the bikini at all, and the only thing preserving her modesty was the vest meant to go over the top. She admitted on stream the same day she didn't realize it until it was posted.
  • Mundane Utility:
    • Cyborg Zen has noted that her friends often use Rhodonite as this, usually as some kind of kitchen utensil, much to her annoyance.
    • Similarly, a running joke about Cyborg Zen is that her body can be used as a variety of ordinary appliances, from a toaster to a vacuum cleaner to a phone charger.
  • Mystical White Hair: Compared with her previous incarnations, Cyborg Zen's hair is snow-white instead of red.
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: She likes to respond this way when particularly disappointed in someone/something, shaking her head, running off-screen, or expressing it nonverbally if she can't be bothered to joke about it.
  • Once a Season: She hosts "Spooktember" every September as a prelude to her "Shocktober" every October, in which she does horror-related things for the duration of the two months.
  • Red Is Violent: Her color motif is primarily red. The dragon form predominantly has red hair, and her gecko form is red. Her cyborg form's uniform is also a glaring red. Zen herself, to accompany this, though it's downplayed as "violent" isn't the usual term to describe her, is a friendly girl prone to brutal insults who swears a lot when provoked.
  • Rouge Angles of Satin: Since she speaks using speech-to-text-to-speech, misspellings or misbehaving autocorrect can result in her saying some odd things.
    • Sometimes she rolls with the punches, such as when "You will be reduced to atoms" got read out as "you will be reduced to Adams", only to get annoyed when the program got it right afterwards.
    • The fanbase eventually developed a suspicion based on these moments that Zen is Texan, which she later admitted to be correct.
  • Scaled Up: Parodied. A spell on herself going wrong resulted in her "Gecko" form. Though, she was soon able to switch back and forth between it and her usual form at will, even occasionally occupying both forms at once.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: To the point of being a Running Gag, as she sometimes briefly storms off-screen when sufficiently irritated. Will also do this sometimes as part of a joke or when something particularly funny happens instead of sitting there silently shaking in what is clearly full-on laughter.
  • Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Cyborg Zen's motivation for traveling to the present is to prevent the Bad Future that arose from Melware's rise to power. Unbeknownst to her, however, time travel just sent her to an Alternate Timeline, so the Bad Future will remain regardless, and all she can do is prevent it from being repeated.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: She can get into one of these situations on occasion, mostly due to her attention problems, where she makes an effort to fix something, or even goes on a long argument about something, only for it to turn out to be pointless. She tries to play it for laughs regardless, though.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Well, woman. Prior to switching her avatar to a dragoness, Commander Zen typically sported some variation of a black, gold-lined suit. She has appeared in it a few times since, proving that she does still have it, it's just not her default outfit anymore.
  • The Silent Bob: For most of her streaming career, she was completely silent, communicating exclusively through facial expressions, gestures, and a text bubble over her head. In 2020, she broke the trend by introducing a speech-to-text-to-speech synthesizer, explained in-character as a translation device following her change to a dragon avatar.
  • Silent Snarker: Her unamused expression she can sport in response to her chat or other shenanigans in her streams can say a lot more than the STTTS ever can at times.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: She has a couple notable ones.
    • Fatman, one of her mods, who typically leads the "Vitriolic" part of the Vitriolic Best Buds dynamic mentioned below.
    • She also has this dynamic with Cooksie note , a well-respected and prolific clipper in the VTuber community; she often singles him out to tell him to "not clip this" after something embarrassing happens. He proceeds to do it anyway.
    • Haruka Karibu has also been a frequent target of tomfoolery, such as that one time she edited a Furby to have Haruka's face and antlers on it, and Haruka getting Zen a cane for her birthday (because she's old!). Though the latter eventually led into an emotional message acknowledging their Vitriolic Best Buds status.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Has stated herself to be roughly 5'10", and on some occasions other members of VShojo have noted that she is by far the tallest of them (though she would later be beat out by the 6'2" Kson).
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Her usual response to being caught in an unfortunate situation that she can't escape from while playing a video game is to pause it in contemplation before letting said thing play out.
  • Toilet Humor: Not her, but her chat. Zen has a "Squishy Fart" noise on the stream's soundboard, which her chat will do to invoke this, such as when she was doing squats in Ring Fit Adventure.
  • Token Wholesome: Melody at one point deemed her to be this to VShojo English. note
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Over time, Zen has toned down her "jerk" side, and has become more of a Nice Girl. She's still prone to the occasional prank between acquaintances, however.
  • Trapped in Another World: Her switch to a dragoness avatar was explained in-character as Commander Zen spontaneously switching places with another version of herself in an alternate universe where she is a dragoness, leaving both in this situation. Though since very little is different outside of that, they pretty much continue on as normal.
  • Troll: Both her and her chat just love to cause mischief and mess around with people. Zentreya herself especially, with there being an endless feedback loop of that mischief between herself and said chat during the average stream.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds:
    • Seems to have this kind of relationship with her chat. They will screw with her at absolutely every available opportunity, and she will tell them off in retaliation, but when it comes down to it her chat is always supportive of Zen when it counts, and Zen is ultimately appreciative of their presence and support in return.
    • Sums up her relationship with Matara perfectly. It's clear that they get along fabulously, but they'll also relentlessly troll each other in games, to the point that Matara's dropped the C-bomb on her at least once.
  • The Voiceless: Communicates via a speech-to-text-to-speech program; in-character, Dragon Zen refers to this as her "dragon translator." More so early on when she "spoke" via text in a visible speech bubble. Cyborg Zen is able to modify her voice via various filters, including ones that make her sound more robotic, and even adopt her old Russian-accented voice.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: With Cyborg Zen being revealed to be an entirely separate being from Dragon Zen, there were naturally questions about where Dragon Zen is now, with the answer being that she is around and perfectly fine, but her whereabouts are not important at the moment. Eventually subverted, as Dragon Zen would return for a subathon in early 2023, and tweets suggest she's good friends with her cyborg self. Eventually Dragon Zen would come back with a new model in November 2023.
  • Winged Humanoid: Small, bat-like ones for Dragon Zen's old 3D model. Her updated model features a much more impressive wingspan for her species.

Her appearance as of the formation of VShojo
The Catgirl of Chaos

Debut date: July 17th, 2020 note
Joined: November 24th, 2020
Left: April 30th, 2023
Nationality: American
Birthday: June 14th
Height: 160cm / 5'3"
Species: Eldritch catgirl / Great Old One
Fanbase name: Nyacolytes
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
Seemingly just an ordinary, if kooky and degenerate, catgirl, "Nyatasha Kotova Nyanners III" is in fact an alias of a terrifying, Lovecraftian eldritch horror sent from the depths of the universe to seek out the "seeds of life" and destroy them to make way for her creator to reign supreme over what remains of reality afterwards...at least until she got to Earth and subsequently got addicted to gaming and anime.

In short: Nyarlathotep with extra "nya".

Nyanners was a content creator, voice actress, and musician well before she took up being a VTuber; at all times, though, she exemplifies the phrase "a little off" in all the best ways. She laughs heartily at weird and wonderful humor, goes the extra mile for silly skits, and is no slouch in the degeneracy department. It's almost impossible to NOT find her laughing at one thing or another. She's currently in a relationship with fellow VTuber Lord Aethelstan.

On April 30th, 2023, Nyanners announced her departure from VShojo and has since joined Mythic Talent.
VShojo's introduction video for her can be found here.

Also known as: Nyanners, Nyan, Nyarlathotep

  • A-Cup Angst: She goes back and forth on this a lot. She sometimes laments having a flat chest, or tries to claim that they're quite large. Other times she points out that she isn't actually flat and only looks like it as a result of her default outfit. Still other times, she leans into it and goes into Petite Pride instead.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Specifically, her origins as Nyarlathotep of the Cthulhu Mythos. Nyarlathotep, being the heart and soul of the Outer Gods, is the most malevolent of all the eldritch horrors, stemming from being the most human. Nyan is in many ways drastically different from The Crawling Chaos, even as a tentacle monster draining the sanity of humanity, displaying reluctance as she questions her inhumane actions commanded by Azathoth long while valuing companionship in the form of Goro. Nyan settling into her life among humanity, especially her meeting the other girls of VShojo, has her grow out of her origin until she finally chooses to defy Azathoth by ruling the world she's once instructed to destroy.
  • Adorable Abomination: She's an ancient Humanoid Abomination adopting the form of a cat girl, so she qualifies by default.
  • Adorable Fluffy Tail: Nyanners' is pink, pouffy at the end, and catlike. In one instance, she wiggles it for comedic effect.
  • The Alcoholic: Nyanners seems to have a penchant for drinking Vodka, and may even discuss it occasionally. Her appearing drunk on streams is also not that uncommon, either.
    • Lampshaded in a Ring Fit Adventure stream:
Nyanners: I just want to get drunk, why am I even doing this?
  • Alliterative Name: Nyatasha Nyanners.
  • Animal Motifs: She's a catgirl, themed around cats. She also owns a cat herself.
  • Anti-Anti-Christ: She was sent to Earth by Azathoth to harvest enough human sanity to activate the Beacon of Chaos and destroy all of existence. After becoming friends with the rest of the VShojo crew, however, she decides not to go through with it and settles for merely taking over the world instead to spite her old master.
  • Appropriated Appelation: A variant with her fanbase. She initially didn't want to label her fan community the "Nyanderthals," feeling that it was too insulting; however, this just made them want the name even more, showing enough support for it that she eventually relented.
    • Though she mentioned in later 2021 that she never really got used to this, so, when making plans to alter her avatar to further showcase her Humanoid Abomination nature, she chose a new fan community name from fan suggestions, this time the "Nyacolytes."
  • Attending Your Own Funeral: Her One Million YouTube Subscribers Celebration Stream begins with a funeral for Nyanners held by her clones following the videos mentioned under Black Comedy Pet Death, which the real Nyanners arrives at to reveal that she actually survived those events.
  • Birds of a Feather: Lore-wise she was this with Ironmouse, them being two different brands of Eldritch Abomination (they even have similarly weird x-rays in the "Medical Check" side comic), with a similar sense of Blue-and-Orange Morality, that both eventually rebelled against their own creators and ditched their respective realms to have fun on earth. Both In-Universe and IRL, they have been close friends for a long time and they just "get" each other. Even after Nyan left VShojo, they remain on good terms, and Nyan even called to offer her support during Ironmouse's 2023 subathon.
  • Black Comedy Pet Death: For failing to reach one million YouTube subscribers by the end of 2020. Tragically, she reached the mark just days afterwards. Though... it's later Subverted. She survived via sword cane, though she did die after tripping on a rock. Then triple subverted in her One Million YouTube Subscribers Celebration stream, in which she arrives at her funeral to reveal that she survived that, too.
  • Blade Enthusiast: Implied. She has a tendency to watch Cold Steel advertisement videos on stream. This is mostly due to her finding them hilarious, though after watching the advertisement for a Heavy-Duty Sword Cane, she apparently ordered one on the spot.
  • Boob-Based Gag: One section of her April Fool's 2021 stream had her sporting these. Of course, for this part of the stream she also became a Meganekko who was only interested in books and had no idea what all of the fuss in chat was about. Later taken to invokedtruly absurd lengths when she adds a total of three sets of boobs to her model by the second act.
  • Cat Girl: Subverted. She has the external appearance of one, but it's only that.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Not to the same extent as Melody for example, but Nyanners may suddenly start talks that can range about if we have "public parts" to suddenly accusing her viewers of not washing their hands after using the bathroom. She also has some Chuunibyou tendencies.
  • Conversational Troping: She's been known to namedrop or discuss tropes from time to time.
  • Cool Cat: She's externally a cat girl and frequently speaks in slang.
  • Covert Pervert: Compared to the likes of Melody and Veibae, who constantly embrace their perversions without any shame, Nyanners isn't openly perverse and prefers to show said perversions at random intervals and adding it in where her audience would least expect it. She especially has a preference for certain derogatory terms.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: Can scream like none other when she's frustrated, horrified, or unbelievably amused.
  • Eldritch Abomination: She is actually Nyarlathotep, with her catgirl shape simply being A Form You Are Comfortable With. Given her almost surreal juxtaposition of purity and cuteness with Toilet Humor and other weird adult topics, she definitely has the Blue-and-Orange Morality part down pat.
  • Everyone Has Standards: As fond of Toilet Humor as she is, she can't stand shows that explicitly show vomit, feces, and the like.
  • Fangirl:
    • She's a huge Green Day fan. In fact, her character being officially 1,039 years old is a Shout-Out to their compilation album 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours.
    • VTuber-wise, she stated Akai Haato/Haachama as one of her main inspirations (given Haachama's... Haachamaness, that explains a lot). She's also said to be a big fan of Calliope Mori's Rap songs.
    • She adores Final Fantasy X and calls it her favorite game of all time and has done multiple (unfinished) playthroughs on stream. Nyan admits that she doesn't like ending the game due to making it sad, even saying that she fell into depression for two weeks after beating it the first time.
  • Fanservice Pack: Her Halloween outfit gives her a bust big enough to actually move, and for a time, she was mistaken for this trope. In actuality, it was a case of Hidden Buxom brought on from the design of her default outfit, meaning the Halloween outfit was just displaying her bust properly.
    • Her 2022 design update has brought her bust up to notable, but still relatively modest to the rest of VShojo.
  • Faux Horrific: A regular fixture when she watches Cold Steel advertisement videos is reacting in mock horror at the fates of the demonstrators' somewhat esoteric choices of targets, ranging from a car hood to a cowboy boot filled with meat.
  • Gender Bender: In Ironmouse's lore video, she casually tells Mouse that she can change her sex at will, and become a big muscle-bound man if she chooses to do so. Mouse comments that she is cuter the way she is right now
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Apparently became this during Anime Expo 2022, drinking so much that she threw up (several times), and missed the DEMONDICE concert. Thankfully, several members (and Connor, apparently) came to check on her to see if she was okay.
  • Hartman Hips: When in VRChat before the Veibae reveal, the other girls notice how large her hips and ass are on the VR model. Even she seems surprised by it. While her default model seems to hide it, other illustrations with different outfits show this to be the case as well.
  • Hidden Buxom: Nyanners never intended to look flat, and her looking as such was actually a product of her default outfit. She has since begun taking steps to have her bust appear as intended, both out of frustration at frequently being called flat and out of concern of appearing so childlike while making sexual jokes as she tends to.
    • Her 2022 redesign has finally averted this trope, as her bust is far more noticeable than it has been in the past while still being modest compared to the rest of the VShojo crew.
  • Humanity Ensues: Formerly a giant shapeless maw containing an untold number of teeth and tentacles, now a pink-haired cat girl.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Is stated to be an ancient eldritch spirit, with her current Cat Girl form merely being her current outer appearance. Her Dark Messenger Nyanlathotep skin has her transform from a cat-girl into a more Lovecraftian but still humanoid form.
  • The Hyena: While the other members are definitely prone to laughing a lot over dark humor or nonsensical memes, Nyanners is definitely the most likely to laugh out loud and long about it, and also ham it up in the process.
  • Idiot Hair: A single, curved lock.
  • I Hate Past Me: Each time she has reacted to her old videos (as a reminder, she has been on the internet for a long time), she has cringed and called herself an idiot.
  • I Have This Friend: How she initially introduced the "Blast Off!" story detailed below.
  • Important Haircut: She referenced the trope when debuting a new model with short hair, coming up with a scenario in which she had to cut off the extra with her sword cane.
  • Ironic Allergy: Despite being a cat (well, having the appearance of a cat), she is lactose intolerant.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: Has two pet cats, will let out a Squee of joy whenever she sees a cat, and is generally very friendly (though she can be a bit of a Troll).
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Not as frequent as Zen or Mouse, but her dropping F-bombs or S-bombs aren't that uncommon, especially when she's drunk or during Oh, Crap! moments.
  • Last-Name Basis: Is called either "Nyanners" or "Nyan" by her friends. The only person who has actually called her Nyatasha was Kson On Air.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Has cat ears (and later, a fluffy tail).
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: She has typically tended to have quite long hair. However, she eventually obtained a variant of her avatar with shoulder-length hair instead, allowing her to switch in and out of this trope as she likes.
  • Long Runner: Was a more traditional YouTuber note  for many years before becoming a VTuber, and ended up hitting the 1,000,000-subscriber mark there just after New Year's Day 2021.
  • Loon with a Heart of Gold: She's one of the most quirky and brutally honest members, but she's still a Nice Girl, albeit one who's prone to Comedic Sociopathy.
  • Me's a Crowd: Has an extensive collection of clones of herself, often less-than-perfect ones.
  • Non-Human Sidekick: A ghost cat familiar that sports an eyepatch named Goro note .
  • No Indoor Voice: A more downplayed example compared to other examples of this trope, but Nyanners' voice can still be quite squeaky sometimes. A YouTube commenter once even described it as if "she's always about to cry and climax at the same time."
  • Phrase Catcher: Her fans often use the phrase "YOU GO BIG GUY" to show support for her.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Her stated age is 1,039 years old.
  • Sell-Out: Parodied when she accepted a sponsorship from Raid: Shadow Legends. During her first stream in which she played the game, she also revealed several new accessories for her avatar, which included a Raid-branded button, foam finger, and horned helmet... as well as a purse stuffed with cash. She also had a new wipe transition effect of money raining down from above the screen.
  • Serial Homewrecker: Often states her intent to steal/fuck other people's wives. Though often subverted by her chat, who jokingly claims that she has done this with them, and they're completely fine with it.
  • Shrinking Violet: Started as one, as it seems to have been the initial reason for her using Facerig avatars to represent herself when streaming. She was also hesitant to take part in her first collaboration stream with Silver, Melody, and Mouse out of fear of embarrassing herself; of course, her sense of humor turned out to mesh with the Lewdcast crew perfectly, and the rest is history.
  • Signature Laugh: Her high-pitched and squeaky laugh, which can be compared to a "baby-laugh sound effect."
  • Silly Animal Sound: A staple of her streams is her impressive imitations of seal noises.
  • Special Guest: Appeared on the LA-themed portion of the Kizuna Ai Virtual US Tour. She gave a solo performance of her original song "Foolish Heart", sang the last few songs of the event alongside Ai-chan, and was interviewed by Ai-chan in the afterparty.
  • Spider People: A "leg reveal" in July 2020 depicted her with a spider-like lower half, presumably due to her model at the time ending at her waist. Later costumes that include her whole body depict her with normal human legs. That said, given that she's an Eldritch Abomination...
  • Stock Animal Diet: Subverted, being a catgirl who has admitted to being lactose-intolerant. Though, as mentioned on the trope page, it is accurate to real life.
  • Stylistic Suck: As mentioned under Melody's folder, she was responsible for Melody's "Prajekt Malady" form. Since then, she has made similar "eyes closed" drawings of other VTubers, both of those within VShojo and of some who aren't. Said depictions tend to be used in group streams.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial:
    • Her parody song "Seiso" note  features this in abundance in her attempts to convincingly claim that she is, indeed, seiso.
"I don't have a folder full of pics of bare feet."
    • In her One Million YouTube Subscribers Celebration Stream, she mentions that she drank her own pee because she needed to in order to survive, and not because she was curious or anything.
  • Sword Cane: Has been frequently associated with her since ordering one on-stream, as detailed above.
  • Take Over the World: Her stated overall goal, though as her VShojo bio and Twitch description state, she mostly sleeps and plays video games instead.
  • Toilet Humor: Is a frequent user of this.
    • She has a dedicated "fart button" that makes a messy fart sound at will.
    • Her "Blast Off!" story. To sum it up, she was trying to make friends with someone at a young age. When they were in their friend's dad's car, Nyanners needed to fart, so she decided to start counting down to lead up to the fart, with the intent to get her friend to laugh when she says "Blast off!" Of course, all she got was an awkward moment between everyone present.
    • At one point, she took it to a literal extreme, requesting fans to send her pictures of their toilets and then dedicating a stream to rating them.
  • Took a Level in Smartass: Her debut self has her extremely deadpan and far more distractible than she would end up being later on, though still the incredibly quirky cat girl she's known for being. She would eventually develop to be a fast-paced, energetic snarker with relatively more awareness of what's going on around her.
  • Vocal Evolution: While reading the script of The Room (2003), her voice for Lisa goes from Valley Girl to Harley Quinn near the end.
    • Over the course of her VTubing career, her voice has noticeably gone from being cutesy and higher-pitched to slightly lower and more natural.
  • Wiki Vandal: Not directly, but in one stream she asked her audience to change her page on the Virtual YouTuber Wiki to state that she has a FFF bust, a 200 IQ, and is the best baker in Europe. There has indeed been an addition to the page stating that she has claimed this.
  • Your Size May Vary: Is often portrayed as one of the shorter members of VShojo, despite the fact that, at about 5'7", she's actually one of the tallest, shorter only to Zen and Kson.

Bam!
Her appearance as of the formation of VShojo
The Last Sakura Spirit

Debut date: July 30th, 2019
Joined: November 24th, 2020
Left: April 26th, 2023
Nationality: American
Birthday: August 12th
Height: 165cm / 5'5"
Species: Sakura spirit / wolf ōkami
Fanbase name: Petal Pals
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter, Instagram
A powerful nature spirit, specifically associated with Sakura, who takes on the form of a wolf goddess. (Not a fox, not a cat, a wolf.) She comes from an unknown, forgotten land with the intention of healing the world by spreading love and companionship. Unfortunately, her terrible sense of direction and forgetful nature means she is often distracted from her noble goals, usually by cute fluffy things...or knives...or someone putting her in "The Jar"...or big booba. Usually the first or last ones.

Silver, while easily distracted and tending to wander astray in the games she plays, is flirty, snarky, and sweet, with a notable "big sister" vibe in almost everything she does. She is especially close to her brother Konzetsu and her mother, affectionately nicknamed "Mamavale".

On April 26th, 2023, it was announced that Silver would depart the agency; she would eventually join Mythic Talent.
VShojo's introduction video for her can be found here.

Also known as: Silver, Silvy

  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Mamavale has her moments, especially when Melody once came to Silvervale's streams.
Mamavale: Hi, Mel! I love Melly. Except for when I—
Silvervale: [accidentally interrupting her] I love Melly, too!
Mamavale: Except for when I click the wrong thing and I see waaaaay too much of Melly.
Silvervale: [laughing out of embarrassment] Oh my god, mom!
  • Animal-Eared Headband: Invoked, as she shapeshifts her wolf ears into a headset with this type of appearance when she goes out to avoid unwanted attention.
  • Animal Motifs: She's a wolf goddess, which is based on a wolf.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Silver has admitted to having "tunnel vision" when she's playing games. She can lose track of where she is going or what she's doing quite easily... and even more so if shiny objects are lying around.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Silver has a long fuse but is not above putting her foot down when individuals get insolent in her chat.
  • Big-Breast Pride: Has a hefty pair and is quite proud of it. At one point, when asked to show off her breasts, she briefly acted angry at the suggestion... while slowly shifting herself up to provide a better view.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Silver is one of the more mature, no-nonsense members of the group, but she can still be rather odd herself.
  • Cain and Abel: This video featuring lore for Silver and her brother Kon Zetsu set Silver as the Abel to his Cain long ago in their original world. Though between Kon Zetsu's generally chill attitude in his streams and Silver's occasional Beware the Nice Ones moments, there have been jokes that the two have switched roles by the present day.
  • Celeb Crush: She said hers is actor Ryan Reynolds.
  • Character Catchphrase:
    • "Bam!"
    • She also tends to say "I love you!" quite frequently.
  • Cherry Blossoms: Being part Sakura spirit, these form part of her overall theme.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Both her eyes and hair are pastel cyan fading to pink.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Self-admitted to be one, citing having cut herself while trying to eat crab legs as an example.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Following the wolf part of her theme.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Though she hasn't gone into great detail about it, due to wishing to avoid making her mom and brother uncomfortable, some of the things she HAS said heavily suggest this - namely her bad relationship with her dad, which left her with considerable self-loathing, and the fact that she said that Harry Potter made her childhood "worth living".
  • Evil Laugh: Doesn't do it often, but when she does, it's usually accompanied by Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises and a knife.
  • Expressive Ears: Wolf ears, specifically.
  • Flowers of Nature: Has flowers in her hair as part of her VShojo redesign, to reflect being part-sakura spirit that doubles as Flowers of Femininity.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Silver finds pretty much any living creature cute or lovable - except for spiders.
  • Genki Girl: She's a real go-getter and very bubbly and enthusiastic.
  • Good Parents: She is close to her mother, referred to as "Mamavale," who has been shown to be highly supportive of Silver, helping to moderate her streams and voicing the narration for Silver's backstory in her VShojo re-debut. She has even taken part in streams on occasion, having her own anime-esque avatar (albeit a comparatively simple one without animation) for such events.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Has referred to herself as "fucking stupid" and "a dumb bitch" before later admitting to struggling with self-loathing, brought on by her rough relationship with her dad.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • This song she made for her fans and community shows off her singing skills quite nicely.
    • Up until partnering with a creator specializing in MikuMikuDance videos around the time of joining VShojo, the MMD videos that she posted as a regular part of her content were personally animated by her, and displayed noteworthy improvement at lighting and animation fluidity over time.
  • Hospital Hottie: Just like Mouse, one of her Halloween costumes in the past was a sexy nurse outfit, complete with glasses and an unzipped top.
  • Hot Teacher: She has held a few streams to provide tutorials for her viewers on games she has particular experience with, such as Final Fantasy XIV. She even dons glasses for such occasions.
  • I Have Brothers: She credits her brother with getting her into anime. Funnily enough, said brother also happens to be a Virtual Youtuber, and they sometimes stream together, often along with Mamavale.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Her in-character motivation for coming to Earth and taking to streaming.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: She's mentioned that her avatar is based partially on her real-life self. If this Tweet is anything to go by, at least one facet of her model is definitely based on her real self note .
  • Insistent Terminology: She is a wolf, not a cat or fox.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: For someone who brands herself as a "cozy wholesome gamer," she swears quite frequently.
  • Last of Her Kind: While not outright stated, it is heavily implied that she is the last of her pack, if not the last of the wolf spirits she came from entirely. It's not clarified what happened to them, other than that they disappeared over the course of eons.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Has wolf ears, fangs, and a tail. Her ears can take on the appearance of a headset if necessary, while she apparently has to stuff her tail under her skirt when in public.
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: She has long flowing locks, usually hanging loose but occasionally tied into twintails.
  • Nice Girl: Silver is consistently welcoming to both her friends and her own chat, something that's contributed to her positive reputation. On the other hand, she can pull the occasional prank, or show her much darker side, for the entertainment of her people.
  • Nonhuman Humanoid Hybrid: Half-sakura spirit, half-wolf spirit.
  • Only Sane by Comparison: While she has the dirty humor and swearing of the other girls, she's probably the most normal member overall and will often end up being the Straight Man by default, which shows you how low the bar is in VShojo.
    • During a Minecraft collab alongside Nyanners, Melody, and Mouse, they were building Froot's name as a way to welcome her to VShojo, but with Nyanners being drunk, Mousey being on the effect of meds, and Melody being, well, Melody, Silver ended up being the only one trying to finish the task.
    • The plot of Vei's introduction video involves Zen asking the other members of VShojo what the "V" stands for. Silver is the one to give the most apparent answer of "Virtual," while everyone else gives character-based joke answers like "Vore," "Virus," "Villains," and "Vasectomy."
  • Perky Goth: She's described as a Pastel Goth, combining gothic aesthetics with pastel colors, with her hair, ears, and tail being cyan/pink. She's also known for being cozy, wholesome, and caring.
  • Playboy Bunny: One of her alternate outfits is a bunny suit.
  • Shout-Out: Her avatar is partially one to Ōkami, her favorite video game; being half-wolf spirit and half-sakura spirit can be seen as references to Amaterasu and Sakuya respectively, two major characters in said game. Some iterations of her model even have a variant with Amaterasu's color scheme.
  • Super-Deformed: Has her own (as she calls it) "Gremlin Model," which she only really used for her playthrough of INSIDE (2016).
  • Team Mom: Silver can be very kind and motherly to her friends and can be counted on to guide the less-experienced players in their streams. She also puts lots of effort into ensuring people around her are having fun.
  • The Immodest Orgasm: Her $1,000+ donation alarm deliberately sounds like one. And much like Mouse, her 3D avatar has an ahegao expression activated through hot-keys.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Cream pies. While she's not entirely above making innuendos referencing the term's less-than-family-friendly meaning, she has also expressed exasperation that she is taken to be referring to that when she really is just referring to the dessert.
  • Trapped in Another World: Downplayed, in that she came to Earth deliberately and has little reason to return to her original realm. Still, she came from a different world, and it's implied that she lacks any abilities that would allow her to go back without assistance.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Silver abhors spiders and will often panic at seeing them.
  • Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises: Her avatar is capable of quite the display of this when called upon.
  • Yandere: She has some tendencies towards this.

"Yo!" o7
Her succubus form upon first joining VShojo
The Guardian of the Skies

Debut date: April 12th, 2020
Joined: April 9th, 2021
Left: April 26th, 2023
Nationality: British (of Polish descent)
Birthday: December 10th
Height: 168cm / 5'6" (in humanoid form)
Species: God-dragon / succubus
Fanbase name: Vei's Lair
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
A draconic, divine sky guardian hellbent on protecting Earth at all costs, the entity known only as Veibae (or "Vei" for short) fell foul of the influence of malign forces, being cursed to live as a succubus with no memories of her prior self or her power, though eventually she recovered both and resumed her post.

Personality-wise, Vei is anything but divine, displaying a significant degeneracy streak. She also has a notably sharp tongue, and is not hesitant to roast friends and viewers alike alive. Don't take that as a sign of unpleasantness or hostility, however; Vei is quite genial overall, even with her liberal swearing and snark. She's currently in a relationship with fellow streamer SodaPoppin.

A long-time colleague and friend of the VShojo girls, she was the first VTuber to be added to the team since its initial creation, with the official announcement and her re-debut video occurring on April 9, 2021. VShojo's video announcing that she would be joining the group can be found here.

On April 26th, 2023, VShojo announced Vei's departure from the roster; she has since joined Mythic Talent.
The backstory for her Sky Serpent form can be found here.

Also known as: Vei

  • Alter-Ego Acting: Stood out in VShojo as someone who initially didn't do this. She readily admitted that she didn't have any lore for her character, so "Veibae" was pretty much just her as an anime girl. In her re-debut stream, rather than having a video detailing her character's backstory, like many other members of VShojo did, her video depicts (a fictionalized version of) how she joined VShojo. Though she eventually turned her view around on this in April 2022 when changing her form to a Sky Serpent, as she had a video created to give her character a proper backstory to fit with the lore of the other VShojo characters.
  • Animalistic Abomination: Her "true form" is a gargantuan, five-eyed serpentine dragon large enough to block out the sun. Silvervale still finds her beautiful.
  • Aroused by Their Voice: Silver accused her of being able to do this during a playthrough of Among Us so that no one would be able to figure out she was the Impostor.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Veibae is incredibly upbeat, and is unable to focus on one thing at a time as a result. She more often than not shifts her attention from one thing to the next.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Vei is usually very friendly to her audience and is among one of the more well-mannered VTubers, but if something seriously irritates her (which is surprisingly rare), she will indeed be very angry about it.
  • Broke Your Arm Punching Out Cthulhu: In her character backstory, she aided Haruka Karibu in stopping Nyarlathotep's rampage across Earth and sealing her beneath the ice of Siberia. However, she was cursed while doing so, which wouldn't wear off until about 2000 years later.
  • Cat Girl: Some of her pre-VShojo avatars have her as one. Her Sky Serpent model has cat ears that can be added or removed at will.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Has noticeable ones in her Sky Serpent form.
  • Extreme Libido: Even among the girls of VShojo, she stands out. Her shameless perversion rivals that of Melody.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: She has turquoise lines going vertically through the center of her irises; these lines surround her pupils to give them a diamond shape.
  • French Maid Outfit: Her Succubus form's outfit is reminiscent of one, as are the outfits of a few of her earlier avatars.
  • Flipping the Bird: She has a tendency to do this.
  • Forced Transformation: Her previous succubus form was explained as being the result of a curse placed on her by Nyarlathotep to seal both her Sky Serpent powers and her memories of them.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: In Cyborg Zen's backstory, it's implied that she did this in an attempt to stop Melware's spread.
  • Horned Humanoid: A pair of classically devil-like red ones in her Succubus form, and four thin, curved gold/blue horns coming from the back of her head, and two small, straight gold spikes coming from the front in her Sky Serpent form, though the latter form is able to make the horns disappear.
  • Idiot Hair: Has a lock of hair like this, as noted by Nyanners when she read out this trope in her own section on this page.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: She makes Mouse seem tame by comparison. It might even be said she communicates in swears, interspersed by occasional verbs.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Was the recipient of this due to a curse from Nyarlathotep, causing her to lose her memories of being a Sky Serpent.
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: She usually has waist-length locks either hanging loose or tied up in twintails, though, much like Nyanners, she also is able to switch to shoulder-length hair.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Even among the girls of VShojo, she stands out. Her shameless perversion rivals that of Melody.
  • Motor Mouth: Along with her high energy, she is also unable to stop herself from talking and can get very lost in her speech.
  • Mystical White Hair: Has this look to go with her Sky Serpent/Succubus character.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: She has this as of the introduction of her Sky Serpent form. She also has an alternate model with the pink coat she initially wore pre-VShojo that can be unzipped low enough to also give this effect.
  • Power Incontinence: In her character backstory, when her curse starts to fade and her Sky Serpent form begins to reassert itself, she unknowingly causes worldwide rainfall significant enough to cause major flooding.
  • Proud Beauty: So much so that she has admitted to paying for Rule 34 art of herself.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Less so on Twitch, but she has no problem posting pictures or videos of herself in skimpy lingerie on her YouTube or Twitter.
  • Special Guest: Appeared on a BBC news broadcast about Virtual YouTubers alongside Froot.
  • Stripperiffic: Her Sky Serpent form's outfit doesn't leave much to the imagination.
  • Succubi and Incubi: Was initially stated to be a succubus, and as mentioned above, her behavior is often what you'd expect from the trope. As of her backstory, she's not a succubus, but actually a Sky Serpent; Nature Spirit of the sky. However, her behavior hasn't changed a bit.
  • Tsundere: As mentioned above, her description deems her as one.
  • Verbal Tic: As much as she'd disagree and say that she doesn't, her fans, as well as Nyanners when she did an impression of her, have noticed that she sometimes follows words with a breath that sounds like an "uh."
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: She is from the UK, but she admits that her accent is weird. She discussed this on stream and mentioned that some fellow Brits don't say it sounds British at all and others that say it does, and then there are people who say she sounds American. Someone even asked if it sounds part Polish. note
  • Winged Humanoid: Her Succubus form has small wings that seem to come from her lower back.

    Henya the Genius

IQ999
The Unparalleled Prodigy

Debut date: May 13th, 2023
Nationality: Japanese/American
Birthday: September 13th
Height: 140cm / 4'7"
Species: Human super-genius
Fanbase name: HEN隊 (Hen Squad)
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
A human girl with an IQ of 999. Once held captive in a laboratory for extraordinary children, she escaped and secluded herself in an abandoned facility before she was attacked by robots and rescued by Zentreya, joining VShojo in the process; her longtime, self-imposed isolation has led to her being a little lacking in worldly knowledge, something which the rest of VShojo and her chat happily assist with.

Henya is bubbly and upbeat, with a very sunny personality; she's always learning about new things in something of a "fish-out-of-water" manner, and her reactions to the information range from childlike wonder to abject horror; however, strike her in the right mood, and she will go full gremlin mode, adorably trolling all and sundry— whether it be whoever she's streaming with, or her chat.

Like Kson, she's fully bilingual, mixing English and Japanese at will, though for her English is the second language, so she's not as fluent in it. She also has a very distinctive laugh, akin to the sound of a steaming kettle, and various other endearing mannerisms and verbal tics, such as screaming Zentreya's name whenever the dragon-toaster trolls her.

Henya's appearance was slowly teased over a four-part series of lore videos detailing her backstory (the full version of which can be found in English and Japanese), and she properly debuted later that week on May 13, 2023.

Her Twitch channel is here, and her YouTube channel is here. You can also follow her on Twitter here.

  • Air-Vent Passageway: How she managed to escape the facility she was held in.
  • Ambiguously Human: Though Henya hasn't shown any non-human traits onstream, her pre-stream loading screen has two hair tufts on her head twitch every now and again, similar to a cat's ears.
  • Animal Motifs: Cats. The company logo on her wall has cat ears, she has a cat toy on her desk, her desktop wallpaper has cats on it, and part of her hair in her pre-stream loading screen resembles cat ears. The headrest of her streaming chair also has cat ears on it, as does the loudspeaker by her desk. Her model also received cat ears as an optional accessory.
  • Arc Number: 13, which appears as her designation number in captivity, a tattoo on her arm, and in her birthdate.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Henya is generally implied to be the youngest of the Vshojo talents (at least in terms of character), with her Child-Like Voice, ditzy sense of humor, and "family-friendly" tastes frequently resulting in her being in the position of everyone's "little sister".
  • Bilingual Bonus: Her fan name is "HEN隊", which translates into "Hen Squad", but reads as "Hentai". Henya suggests always using the combination romaji-kanji name when referring to the fandom in chat, lest the chatter is shadowbanned.
  • Brain Bleach: Henya once raided Bao, unaware that the latter is one of the biggest degenerates in the VTuber community. With that, Bao (albeit after some convincing) presented the "Baoberry" art to Henya and her fanbase, much to their horror. Henya responded by writing "WTF DAYO" in the chat.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: Much like most of her VShojo peers, Henya has a history of having an online audience before joining the agency, but she prefers to keep her past private. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop her from dropping hints from time to time by accident, in large part due to having very particular tics and other involuntary habits that give her away. Very quickly, she accepted that she has one of the worst-kept secrets in the agency, but she still requests they be recognized and treated as secrets.
  • Character Catchphrase:
    • She tends to shout "What the fuck dayo!?" whenever she learns the meaning of a (usually sexual) English term or generally gets involved in something yabai.
    • In the event she ends up saying too much or gets caught up in an embarrassing situation, she will shout "WASURERO BEAM!"
  • Child-Like Voice: She has a very high-pitched voice on par with Ironmouse.
  • Child Prodigy: She's the youngest member of VShojo and by far the most intelligent, at least lore-wise. She attempts to prove this in her debut stream by solving a Rubik's cube within thirty seconds... only to accidentally break it apart.
  • Chronic Pet Killer: If her stories are to be believed, she managed to accomplish this with "pets" that were inanimate objects: at separate points in her childhood, she had a pet rock and pet cactus, and both of them perished when she let them rest on a balcony for sunlight, only for them to be swept away by typhoons.
  • Companion Cube: She gets rather attached to the Portal Companion Cube, and would rather die than euthanise it.
Henya: If you're telling me to kill my companion cube, I'd rather kill myself! Bakayarou!
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: Invoked shortly after struggling to go through Toxic Tower, and Henya rages at those who said that Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest is easier than Donkey Kong Country. She then threatens to force them to watch her streams forever, even on their wedding day, their funeral, or when their family is around, the last of which she will occasionally shout "Yamete, onii-chan!" specifically to make it more awkward should they try to decline.
  • Cool Big Sis: Downplayed. She wants to connect with her half/step-siblings, but due to the massive age gap and literal long-distance relationship, she finds it very hard to get "hip with the kids". This is especially the case with her youngest kid brother, whose only connection with Henya is Apex Legends, and that's just barely.
  • Department of Redundancy Department: Her full title is "Henya the Genius." "Henya" is a homophone of the Spanish word "genia," which means "genius." So she's "Genius the Genius."
  • Ditzy Genius: She may have an Impossibly High IQ, but that doesn't stop her from being more than a bit of a klutz, nor does that prevent her from being clueless about certain things beyond her understanding... which turns out to be quite a lot. For instance, her profile establishes that she cannot remember how to spell "genia" despite her IQ, so she spells her name phonetically. In addition, when pressed on which is heavier — a kilogram of steel or a kilogram of feathers — she confidently answers the former and is confused by her viewers telling her that they're actually the same (as well as their reaction from her not catching the reference). She even takes a while to recall her name after being raided by Saruei!
  • Drives Like Crazy: Not only is she terrible at driving vehicles in games, but she once told Mata and Zen a story about her previous real-life job working at a car dealership, where she had two car accidents in the same week!
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Her hair was a bland, uniform bowl-cut bob in the laboratory. After the Time Skip, it's become long and messy, showing how she's starting to carve out an identity for herself.
  • Eye Colour Change: Her eyes are normally yellow but can also be changed to glowing blue, matching when her cube glows.
  • Food as Bribe: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are often used as a bribe for Henya. Kson once tried to get Henya to go outside and go fishing with her by offering Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Henya, a staunch hikikomori, perks up upon hearing this and reluctantly accepts. On the other hand, there are times when Henya puts her foot down despite the bribe, like when chat offers to marry Papanya, her father.
  • Fun Size: At 140 cm (4'7"), she ties with Nazuna as the shortest member of VShojo.
  • Fun with Homophones:
    • "Henya" is the phonetic spelling of the Spanish word "genia", which means "genius". This is because she cannot remember how to spell "Genia", so she spelled it that way in her debut stream.
    • The name of her fanbase is "HEN隊", taking the first part of her name and the kanji "隊", meaning "squad" or "team". It is pronounced "hentai", but the romaji-kanji spelling shows that "hentai" refers to Henya's fanbase and not... how the word is typically understood to mean.
  • The Gadfly: Henya has her moments, like when she calls Filian "pettan", counting on her lack of understanding of Japanese, and then telling her what it means.
  • The Generation Gap: Has this to her younger half/step-siblings in the US. Especially when it comes to meme culture of the 2020s or computers back in the 2000s in the reverse.
  • Guilt by Association Gag: She once bonked Kson, OniGiri, and Mel, the last of whom was in the background laughing and barely contributing to the shenanigans, but apologized shortly, anyway.
  • Hiding Behind Your Bangs: Henya is a largely reclusive self-confessed Hikikomori, and she has let her hair grow very long, with a particularly long single bang that extends well past her face. Kson has made repeated jokes about wanting to trim Henya's bangs, only for Henya to be really defensive about keeping them just the way they are. She seems to have relented later on as she later received a new model with her bangs trimmed, though the middle bang is still past her face.
  • High-Pressure Emotion: Her iconic kettle-like sounds aren't just restricted to laughter; her screams often also devolve into them, giving an effect very evocative of this trope, particularly when she's flustered (such as that one time she turned SafeSearch off when Googling an NSFW term). When she got a new model, Henya got to show off multiple expressions, like how she literally steams whenever she gets nervous.
  • Hikikomori: Henya became one of these after escaping the facility she was raised in, finding refuge away from her pursuers in a hyperdimensional personal space. She states herself on Twitter to be a "professional genius hikikomori", and has a particular reluctance to go outside for any reason (although evidently, Reese's are enough to at least tempt her).
  • Idiot Hair: Henya has an ahoge sticking out of the middle of her head, which ties in nicely with her Ditzy Genius character.
  • If You Can Read This: The message written in Morse-Code on her inside-dress note  essentially amounts to this. Knowing Morse code or pasting it into a decoder nets you the message "IF YOU CAN READ THIS, YOURE A NERD".
  • Impossibly High IQ: Her lore video states her IQ to be 999.
  • Innocent Bystander: Henya became this when she raided Tenma's stream (with no ulterior motive) when the latter was in the middle of simping, in an example of bad timing. Although Henya had collabed with Phase-Connect once (a Minecraft stream with Tenma and Pippa), and she'd seen a few of Tenma's Napoleon Complex clips, she hadn't yet been on the receiving end of Tenma's Hair-Trigger Temper. Suffice to say, Henya got a full front-row dose of it moments later.
  • Innocent Means Naïve: Subverted. Henya clarifies that she really is not that innocent. She understands ecchi jokes, but she tends to get uncomfortable when the topic of sex gets brought up; what contributes to the "innocent" image is her relatively loose command of English.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: She has quite a potty mouth, despite claiming on a few occasions to be family-friendly.
  • Language Barrier:
    • Despite being bilingual, Henya occasionally has trouble with pronouncing or spelling certain words, like when she pronounces "babe" "bah-beh" or when she struggles to spell "Puerto Rico". She also adds that her relatively loose grasp of English is why she gives off the image that she is innocent when, in reality, she does understand sex jokes; she is simply uncomfortable when the topic gets brought up.
    • On the flip side, Henya exploits this for laughs when collaborating with Filian, counting on the latter's lack of knowledge of Japanese when tricking her into saying something embarrassing. For instance, she once asked Filian "Anata wa kemono desu ka?" ("Are you a furry?") under the pretense that she is asking "Will you marry me?" (which, for the record, can be "Kekkon shite kudasai" or "Kekkon shite kuremasu ka").
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Invokes this in the event she ends up saying too much, shouting "WASURERO BEAM!" She also does this during the fallout of her accidentally activating her ahegao toggle.
  • Lethal Chef: And how! Henya has shared several horror stories of her failing at even basic cooking, with quite possibly one of the more egregious ones being the time she set off the smoke alarm when trying to heat up a tortilla in a toaster. The situation was so bad that it resulted in her mom basically banning her from cooking ever again. The most she's able to do is boil water... and even then that's a "maybe" according to her!
  • Long-Lost Relative: For a long time, Henya's viewers thought she was an only child. However, she later revealed, to the surprise of chat, that she actually has a younger half/step-siblings (she never clarified other than her younger sister is in high school while her kid brother is in middle school). However, their relationship is distant, literally, so they wouldn't even know who she is.
    Henya: Dandadadan! I'm your Onee-chan and I'm a VTuber...yoroshiku...[laughs]
  • Messy Hair: Henya's hair has grown long and messy long after she managed to escape from the laboratory.
  • Mum Looks Like a Sister: Henya mentioned how her mum gave birth to her really young to the point that their relationship is more sibling-like rather than the traditional mother-and-daughter dynamic.
  • Noodle Incident: According to Matara, Henya isn't permitted to drive despite having a license as a result of having crashed two cars in one weekall Henya elaborated on was that they weren't hers, this occurred at a previous part-time job, and she crashed them while parking them. Henya also doesn't own a knife, even for her food, having been barred from using them or any sharp objects in her own house for unexplained reasons.
  • Not So Above It All: Henya is easily one of the more "seiso" members of VShojo, but if the details of her "Watch Henya Forever" punishment is anything to go by, she is not above deliberately making watching the stream with parents around awkward by crying "Yamete, onii-chan!", at least if you try to refuse to watch. That said, even this is much more restrained and can even be taken in a more innocuous context compared with, say, a lewder VTuber like Saruei or Shylily invoking The Immodest Orgasm.
  • Oblivious Mockery: Henya is very prone to this, where she says something that seems like an insult or is her being pedantic towards her friends, but gets represented as mockery or an insult by her friends, and by proxy, her fans.
  • Older Than They Look: Henya mentions that she is so short and young-looking that she often gets mistaken for a kid in the US.
  • Paralyzing Fear of Sexuality: Henya affirms that she's not as innocent as she appears to be and, in fact, understands sex jokes, even though her looser grasp of English might give the impression otherwise. That said, it's pretty clear that she gets easily flustered or horrified by certain deviant sexual acts that she does know of. She will also run up to the camera and cover up perverted clips with her body, then declare "We're family-friendly." Amusingly, Henya also mentions having a good friend who would panic whenever she hears the number 6, mistaking it for "sex".
  • Phrase Catcher: Her habit of yelling Zen's name has reached a point that VTubers both within and outside of VShojo now do so, but especially when they're with Henya.
  • Poirot Speak: When speaking in English, she tends to weave some Japanese words and fillers, such as "dayo" (an expression of emphasis, like a spoken "!") and "sou" (roughly meaning "That's true").
  • Rubik's Cube: International Genius Symbol: Has a cuboid motif, complete with what appears to be an actual Rubik's Cube in her colors hanging off of her jacket. She tries to prove her intelligence by solving one in her debut...only for it to fall apart in her hands, causing her to panic.
  • Rummage Sale Reject: Her outfit is absolutely bonkers, consisting of yellow crocs, an oversized jacket over a sleeveless dress, and what appears to be a bikini top. Justified since she literally found the clothes in the abandoned facility she was hiding in and simply put it all together without paying much attention to how they coordinated.
  • Running Gag:
    • Whenever she accidentally reveals too much about her previous identity, she invokes Laser-Guided Amnesia by shouting "WASURERO BEEAAAM!" (Forget Beam). The chat then says "Hi, first time here" and Henya welcomes them to her "first" stream.
    • When she sees a sexual situation, she quickly scrambles up to the camera and covers the scene with her body while declaring "We're family-friendly."
  • Sailor Fuku: One of her models has her wearing a sailor fuku school uniform.
  • Say My Name: Henya tends to do this whenever someone does something to irk her.
    • "ZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!"
    • "PIPPAAAAAAAAAAA!" (After Pippa privated live her song "Pippa the Ripper" while Henya was listening to it and enjoying herself)
    • "KEVIIIIIIN!" (After accidentally triggering an ahegao toggle, which KevinX, the rigger of her model, snuck in.)
    • "MELODY!" (upon learning the words "election" and "erection" and looking up the latter)
  • Sexual Euphemism: Whenever Henya ends up straying into conversations about sex, she relays the act as "pa-pa-pa". We can only assume that it's very onomatopoeic in nature.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Her lore video has an art style not dissimilar to that of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.
    • On the top bookshelf in her room in the abandoned facility is what's clearly a Parodies for Dummies book with Twitch and YouTube symbols on it, suggesting that her streaming skills are entirely self-taught.
    • One of her accessories includes a Quantum Physics textbook, carried in her arm in exactly the same manner as "Little Tiffany" from Men in Black.
  • Sibling Rivalry: Has one with Zen, who is more of a big sister type.
  • Signature Laugh: Has a wheezy, high-pitched laugh that quickly drew comparisons to the sound of a boiling kettle.
  • Sincerity Mode: Henya genuinely likes "Pippa the Ripper", even though Pippa sees it as among her least dignified works. When Pippa privated the song out of embarrassment, Henya was not pleased.
Henya: [laughing] That was a good music! Where did they go!?
  • Sleepyhead: Henya admits to having a history of crazy sleep habits, from sleeping for 20 straight hours on weekends, sleeping through a 6.2 magnitude earthquake, and occasionally sleeping too little (going to bed at 4 AM to wake up at 7 AM). She's been trying to fix this by maintaining a more healthy sleep schedule, but she jokingly acknowledges that it makes her a bit of an outlier as "Every single VTuber has a fucked-up sleep schedule!"
  • Sneeze of Doom: Defied. Henya tends to mute her microphone whenever she is about to sneeze, and she says this is for the viewers' safety just in case they are wearing headphones. That said, there is one clip of Henya sneezing before she manages to mute the microphone, and her sneeze is rather explosive.
  • Super Gullible: Whether it be due to English not being her native language or just plain innocence, Henya is incredibly prone to "deez nuts"-type Double Entendre jokes from her friends and her chat, being fully aware of how badly she's falling for them but continuing to get baited and not realizing what happened until it's too late. In addition, she was once convinced in the middle of her Dead Island 2 stream that pressing ALT-F4 would help her gameplay.
  • Those Two Girls: Of all the people she collabs with, by far the most common one is Filian. Given how they're both short, flat-chested, incredibly prudish gremlins, their personalities complement each other to hilarious degrees.
  • Token Human: Aside from her abnormally high intelligence, she stands out as one of the only humans in VShojo besides Kson... maybe.
  • Token Wholesome: Despite stressing that she is not that innocent, Henya is easily one of the more "seiso" members of VShojo. For example, she bonks Mel, Kson, and Onigiri for their perverted shenanigans, even though Mel was actually in the sidelines laughing her head off from watching Henya getting flustered, or another time when she scolded her chat after glossing over a video poking fun at a sweet potato whose wrinkled skin makes it look phallic. In addition, she even uses her model to cover up any perverted clips, as shown when watching a short of Kson and one of her friends. She did threaten some viewers to watch her streams forever lest, whenever they try to decline, she shout "Yamete, onii-chan!" when their parents are around, but even that has much more restraint than deliberately invoking The Immodest Orgasm, so her calling herself family-friendly isn't actually that far off from the truth.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, to the point she considers America the greatest country simply because that's where they come from. She once spent a stream trying out different Reese's products and placing them all on a tier list, and all of them ended up in S-tier (later bumping up the OH HENRY! fusion bar and the Valentine Reese's from Matara to SS-tier). They're also occasionally used to bribe her.
  • Unfortunate Search Results: She often googles English terms she doesn't know, much to her later regret. One especially notable instance is when she looked up "erection" after Melody talked about its various meanings.
Henya: MELODY! Why do I see the man's peepee when I google it?! What the fuck?!
  • Verbal Tic:
    • She has a tendency to pepper her English with Japanese fillers such as "dayo", "sou", or "ne" or use Japanese pronunciation conventions on English words, most notably pronouncing "cute" as "kyuu-to". She initially tried to tone these down in her early days but eventually fully embraced them. She also has a habit of saying "yosh yosh yosh" over and over when focusing or concentrating hard.
    • As her grasp of English is relatively loose, she tends to add a redundant article in her sentences, like "Go back to the Florida, you fucking crocodile!" when she rages at a Krash in Donkey Kong Country.
  • When I Was Your Age...: Often at both the receiving end of this from chat and to her younger half/step-siblings.
  • Wingding Eyes: Her nervous/distressed expression has her pupils changing into swirling spirals.
  • You Are Number 6: While confined in the laboratory, she's listed as "Subject XIII".

Always stay positive! And if people are negative, beat the shit out of them!
The Legendary Delinquent

Debut date: November 15th, 2018
Joined: July 2nd, 2022
Nationality: Japanese/American
Birthday: November 1st
Height: 189.3cm / 6'3"
Species: Human
Fanbase name: Kson-gumi Shin'eitai (Kson's Bodyguards)
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
A rowdy, human Friendly Neighborhood Gangster. In her youth, Kson decided to become a Japanese Delinquent, having been inspired by their independence and badassery. Her kindness and charisma led to her becoming the leader of her own gang of delinquents who looked out for the downtrodden when not building Gunpla models. In time, however, the members of her gang went their separate ways, and Kson saw each and every one of them off as they pursued their dreams, even as she stuck to her delinquent ways, before becoming a VTuber herself and joining VShojo.

A legend in the VTubing scene, the American-born Kson is loud, boisterous, and fully bilingual, speaking Japanese and English with equal fluency and effect. Uniquely among the crew, she also regularly does on-camera content, revealing just how much of an Ink-Suit Actor her model really is. Her reputation for pushing boundaries is not unfounded; even before she was ever with VShojo, she was a trailblazer.

A long-time colleague and friend of the VShojo girls, she was the VTuber to debut VShojo's new division in Japan, with the official announcement and the reveal of her lore video occurring on July 2nd, 2022 at Anime Expo. Said video can be found here.

For character tropes regarding her before joining VShojo, go here.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Nazuna pretty much exclusively refers to her as "K-chan." Henya often calls her "Souchou".
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Her father, "Papason", has a history of making reckless posts on social media to the point that his family eventually forced him to delete his accounts in front of them. This, however, didn't prevent him from creating sock-puppet accounts and using them to wreak havoc. Things came to a head when he got scammed by an internet company, which caused him to go on a rampage, and it got so bad that eventually, the head of VShojo Japan had to get involved. Kson dedicated an entire stream to address the situation and to inform her audience that, effective immediately, Papason is permanently blocked from using social media of any kind.
  • Animation Bump: The Stinger of her lore video, as opposed to the animated stills before it, is in full 2D animation.
  • Appearance Angst: She is very self-conscious about her shoulders, a trait that became more exacerbated after passing the "Like A Dragon" Hostess audition.
  • Arc Number: 893, which can be read in Japanese numerical phonetics as "Yakuza."
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Some of the ways Kson deals with her targets (of which we are shown three) include punching a cheating boyfriend in the face, grappling deadbeat parents in a stranglehold, and chatting over a cup of tea with parents with impossibly high expectations, but are otherwise well-meaning.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Her love for the Like A Dragon / Yakuza series of games is legendary, declaring Kiryu Kazuma to be her "boyfriend" and even partially basing her online persona on the series. After winning the Grand Prix for the "Like A Dragon" Hostess Auditions, she ended up in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name as a hostess and in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth as a fully realized member of the main character's partynote .
  • Badass Longcoat: Sports an impressive one that she keeps open.
  • Badass Normal: She has no supernatural powers or advanced technology to her name, and yet has a pretty impressive track record of helping the downtrodden by beating their oppressors into submission.
  • Big-Breast Pride: It may not look like it because of her sarashi, but Kson is "boing-boing" and not afraid to flaunt it.
  • Bully Hunter: She and a group of friends took extensively after yankii aesthetics, and she beats the living daylights out of people who deserve it, like a cheating lover or parents who force their children to pay their debts. Otherwise, she and her targets have a nice chat over a cup of tea.
  • Corrupt the Cutie: Her single goal when collabing with Nazuna seems to be pushing the cute little angel further and further into debauchery. And it seems to be working!
  • Cosplay Otaku Girl: She dabbles in cosplay and, at times, will dress up as characters from games she streams, including 2B, Bayonetta and Tifa Lockhart.
  • Deep South: She was born and raised in there, specifically the city of Dunwoody in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. She also has a hint of a Southern twang in her voice.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Kson once tried to teach Nazuna and Oni Giri some very dirty phrases. At a couple of points, Giri said a couple of very perverted things and got Nazuna involved in her antics, and Kson, of all people, ended up looking "seiso" by comparison. Watch Kson just sit there as if something inside her just died.
  • Fangirl:
    • Kson is a high-profile fan of the Like A Dragon/Yakuza series, even proclaiming that Kiryu Kazuma is her boyfriend. She even is set to appear as a hostess in The Man Who Erased His Name and as the "madame" in Infinite Wealth.
    • Kson has also gone on record saying that Kiryu Coco is her favourite VTuber.
  • For Halloween, I Am Going as Myself: She's sewn and worn a real-life version of her avatar's costume, and made a real-life appearance at the reveal of VShojo Japan wearing it.
  • Friendly Neighborhood Gangster: Her lore video reveals that before joining VShojo, she was the leader of a delinquent group who sought to do good, doing things like giving the beating of a lifetime to cheating boyfriends and parents who saddle their debt on their kids and having a friendly chat over a cup of tea with otherwise good parents with unreasonable expectations for their children.
  • Genre Mashup: A big staple of her channel is doing both animated avatar streams as well as regular IRL streams, sometimes even at the same time. Coming on stage in person at her VShojo announcement shows she has no plans to stop doing it now that she is a part of a company either.
  • Hates Being Alone: She was evidently a bit upset about being the only delinquent in her group left, especially after seeing her fellow delinquents off as they move on with their lives.
  • Hidden Buxom: If her Summer Outfit is of any indication, then it's safe to say that her sarashi is quite restricting.
  • Hide the Evidence: When she killed CDawgVA in Minecraft, she managed to hide the evidence by simply tricking the rest of VShojo that it was he who killed her and not the other way around.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: Unlike many VTubers, her avatar is a direct caricature of her real appearance, which makes it more seamless when she switches from Vtubing to IRL streaming and back again.
  • Japanese Delinquents: Her avatar borrows heavily from yankii aesthetics, with dyed hair, a flashy jacket that is kept open, a sarashi to preserve her modesty, and a pink bokken she carries around.
  • The Lad-ette: She swears, she dresses like a yankii, she proudly flaunts her boing-boings and twerks, and she is a big fan of Gunplas and Yakuza.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: She has a massive penchant for profanity.
  • Last of Her Kind: She is the only member of her gang left after her peers grew up and drifted apart.
  • Leg Focus: Her pajama outfit has short shorts showing her bare legs and feet.
  • Look Both Ways: Invoked for self-deprecating laughs when explaining how she found Nazuna, saying that she accidentally ran her over and gave her amnesia. In reality, Nazuna was already unconscious when Kson found her.
  • Mythology Gag: As most well-versed members of Kson's fanbase know, this isn't the first time Kson has been closely associated with an angel.
  • Ordinary High-School Student: What she was before she saw a group of delinquents by a convenience store.
  • Perverse Sexual Lust: She is absolutely infatuated with Kiryu Kazuma, to the point she calls him "her boyfriend".
  • Running Gag: After winning the "Like A Dragon" Hostess auditions and using photo-editing software to "correct" her shoulders, her Appearance Angst over that particular physical trait became this.
Chat: Every sub adds 1cm to Kson's shoulders.
Kson: [after begging chat to stop] Thank you, but I think that's enough. It's starting to stab my neighbors.
  • Scenery Censor: Inverted in an "off-site" collab with Melody. Since her model, unlike Melody's, lacks the ability to remove all its clothes, she removed her jacket so that her upper body was only clothed in her sarashi, and moved her model to the bottom of the screen, so that her sarashi was hidden, but her cleavage was not, thus giving the illusion that she was topless, basically using scenery to censor her lack of nudity.
  • Self-Serving Memory: Inverted for Self-Deprecation. In The Stinger of her lore video, Kson finds an unconscious and amnesiac Nazuna lying in the middle of the road after narrowly dodging her while cruising. Kson's memory of the events has her believe that she herself is responsible for Nazuna's state by running her over with a motorcycle.
  • Shout-Out:
    • She has stated that her name was based on a personality from MADtv, her favorite show.
    • Her lore video takes some cues from Yakuza, from the Boss Subtitles to featuring a cameo by Kazuma Kiryu himself, singing with Kson and a fellow delinquent.
  • Small Reference Pools: She's admitted that she doesn't actually hail from the city of Atlanta but from the city of Dunwoody, which is still within the metropolitan area of Atlanta. However, because everyone who asks her "Which part of Georgia are you from?" likely wouldn't understand her if she responded with anything other than Atlanta, she simply answers with that.
Kson: Dunwoody, Georgia, motherfucker. No one knows shit about Georgia.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Her official height is 189.3 cm (approx. 6'3"), beating out Matara and Zen. Said official height is also a Japanese-numerology joke (8-9-3 = "ya-ku-sa") and a Yakuza reference, matching series protag Kazuma Kiryu's height.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That:
    • In one of her collaborations with Nazuna, Kson teaches some commonly used English slang. One of those is WTF, which Nazuna reads as "What, thank you, fuck". Kson plays along and decides to go with "What? Thank you. Fuck you!" (when Kson jokingly reads WTF as "Why tenshi flat", Nazuna says "What the fuck" in indignance, finally saying the proper meaning.)
    • Two days before her VShojo debut stream, Geega calls Kson for ideas, who then obliges in Japanese. Geega, not understanding Japanese, thinks she suggests a date night, and Kson, instead of correcting her, rolls along with it, much to Henya's horror.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Her gang members left one by one as they grew up to live normal lives, whether by getting jobs, pursuing further education, or marrying, eventually leaving her as the sole member.
  • Token Human: Unlike most of the other members of the group, who are all supernatural or highly technological, Kson is a completely normal human delinquent.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Nazuna's girly girl. Kson is one of the most vulgar members of VShojo, which is saying a lot when stacked against everyone else, and compared to Nazuna, who joined at the same time as her, she's nowhere near as poised.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pizza, which is ubiquitous in America but pricey in Japan. And don't get her started on the size differences.
  • Undying Loyalty: She has stated outright that she rejects any and all calls for her to stop interacting with friends of hers because she will never abandon her friends. Let's just say that she has definitely shown that she's not all talk where this is concerned.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Her character is a badass Japanese delinquent. Her voice, on the other hand, is high-pitched and bubbly, and her laughter in particular is quite squeaky.

I think..... I wanted to meet you...
The Amnesiac Angel

Debut date: July 16th, 2022
Left: December 31st, 2023
Nationality: Japanese
Birthday: February 22nd
Height: 140cm / 4'7" (minus halo)
Species: Angel
Fanbase name: Lollipops
Channels: YouTube, Twitch
Social media: Twitter
Nazuna is an angel with the appearance of a petite teenage girl. She fell to Earth (seemingly losing most of her memories as a result) and was found in the middle of a highway by Kson with nothing on her but the clothes on her back and a giant, bladed key. She usually acts cute and cheery, but occasionally reveals a darker side, and may have a larger role in what's going on than anyone expected...

One could easily describe Nazuna as a ray of sunshine in her usual demeanor, being incredibly adorable and sweet; however, when angered she breaks out extremely powerful screams and yells which can wake the dead, putting her on par with (if not eclipsing) Mousey in that department. She speaks primarily Japanese and is learning English as she goes along with help from her live stream translators and Kson. She's also perhaps the least lewd of the entire crew at large.

Debuting as part of VShojo's division in Japan, the announcement of her joining occurred on July 2nd, 2022 at Anime Expo. In December 2023, VShojo announced that she would be leaving the group and going independent, getting to keep the rights to her model and character.

Her Twitch channel is here and her YouTube channel is here. You can also follow her on Twitter.

  • A-Cup Angst: She takes umbrage to being called "pettan"note  and will insist she is "boing-boing."
Nazuna: "Pettan pettan"? Not pettan! Not pettan! Boing-boing dakara...
  • Amnesiac Hero: From her bio, she seems to be one. Ironmouse's lore video implies that this is a result of accidentally seeing the physical form of the Creator after Ironmouse revealed them to the Heavenly Host. In fact, her kind of amnesia comes with fainting spells whenever she tries to remember something about her past.
  • Badass Adorable: Despite her cute appearance, she's not deterred from playing horror games and other intense games like Monster Hunter.
  • Bookworm: Her bio describes her as one, and her streaming background has several full bookshelves on display.
  • The Cameo: Her first appearance, aside from her debut announcement, is in The Stinger of Kson's lore video, with Kson finding Nazuna passed out in the middle of the road after nearly running her over.
    • She also has a brief appearance in Ironmouse's lore video, witnessing her opening the gates to the Creator.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Happens after getting raided by Henya. The moment she reads "HEN隊", she asks if Henya's fans are perverted. Even after the fans clarify the meaning, Nazuna proceeds to explain what "hentai" typically means in Japanese.
  • Cool Key: She has a large key (with eyes on it) that she always carries around with her. The fact that it can perform decapitations with its base and can function as a hypnosis device indicates that there's more to it than meets the eye.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: Has already shown herself to be this in her first stream after her debut, with an impressive scream volume and throat resilience comparable to that of a Death Metal singer.
  • Cute Little Fangs: She has one on the left side of her mouth, typically drawn as a "lip fang".
  • Cute Oversized Sleeves: Nazuna has a very oversized jacket with sleeves completely covering her hands.
  • The Cutie: Her fellow members have all gushed over how adorable she is.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: In Cyborg Zen's backstory video (released two months before Nazuna's debut), she can be seen in the background after Zen arrives in the present.
  • Expressive Shirt: The four "buttons" on her coat double as eyes that are normally shut but open wide and twitch when Nazuna uses her agitated emotes.
  • Fallen Angel: She is shown to be a part of the Divine Host in Ironmouse's lore video, with her panickedly shouting "No! No! No!", when the rebelling angels get ready to open the door of the Creator. Why she wound up on Earth instead of the Underworld and retained her angelic features instead of becoming a demon like the rest of the angels who fell is never explained.
  • Fun Size: She beats out previous record-holder Mouse in this regard, as her height is listed as 140 cm (4'7"), tying Henya for the shortest in the group.
  • Gratuitous English: In contrast to Kson and Henya, she's still learning English, so her attempts to speak it come across as this.
  • Language Barrier: Nazuna is primarily a Japanese speaker whose grasp of English is quite limited. She tries to surmount this, especially when collaborating with her English-speaking colleagues, by learning English and speaking with translators.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Whenever she's getting bullied by chat she frequently tries to get her overseas fans to fight her Japanese fans or vice versa, depending on who started the bullying, and protect her honor, sadly for Nazuna most of the time this just results in both fanbases working together to bully her.
  • Living MacGuffin: There's some indication that she is one in regards to the Melware-ruled Bad Future.
    • During the Melware takeover on June 15, 2022, VShojo posted cryptic binary-encoded messages on its Twitter account, including "SHE HAS KEY" and "SAVE HER!"
    • Zen and Mouse have said that they will protect her at all costs, though that could also just be them under the effect of Cuteness Proximity.
  • Look Both Ways: Kson invokes this for self-deprecating laughs, claiming that she accidentally ran over Nazuna and made her amnesiac. In reality, Nazuna was already on the ground unconscious when Kson found her.
  • Nervous Wreck: Nazuna reveals in this clip that she has a panic disorder and is currently getting it treated.
  • Not So Above It All: Nazuna has shown herself to be willing to participate in some of the perverted antics of her colleagues. For instance, when the HEN隊 raided Nazuna's stream, she asks if they are "hentai", as in, if Henya's fans are perverts. Even after they explain what "HEN隊" means, Nazuna proceeds to explain what "hentai" typically means in Japanese and indulges them by taking off her jacket.
  • Off with His Head!: The base of the Cool Key she is holding can perform decapitations. She even keeps the heads she's severed, though at the very least she takes good care of them.
  • Open Secret: Much like Hime, Nazuna has a very well-known alternate career outside of VShojo, and because of this, her Out of Focus status doesn't get as much attention as you would see from other creators going on long hiatuses. Amusingly she has even collabed with Kson as that alter.
  • Our Angels Are Different: Nazuna herself is a standard humanoid angel, but the large key she comes equipped with appears to take cues from the Biblical angels, though nowhere near incomprehensible.
  • Out of Focus: Nazuna forewarned that she will not be as active and will stream once in a blue moon shortly before she left.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: When she gets particularly angry, her normally pink and blue eyes can both flip to a blood-red color.
  • Sweet Tooth: Self-admitted to having one, with a preference for candy floss; in addition, the emoji that follows her name is a lollipop, of which she also has a few scattered on a desk in her streaming background. It's also a Stealth Pun on her name: the "ame" in "Amemiya" can mean "sweets."
  • Token Mini-Moe: She's the only member of the group who has an unambiguously childlike appearance.
  • Token Wholesome: At least in terms of personality, if not dress. Where the other members openly cuss and discuss things like sex and drugs, Nazuna tends to keep things more PG, at least on her own streams. That said, it has become downplayed over time as she is just as willing to do some pretty perverted stuff, like when she and OniGiri were learning some dirty English phrases from Kson and got involved in very perverted antics (to the point where Kson had to do damage control). She also once explained what "hentai" typically means in Japanese shortly after being raided by Henya's fans (who are called "HEN隊"), and she took off her jacket afterward, amused that chat likes what it's seeing.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The girly girl to Kson's tomboy. Unlike how loose-lipped and unabashed Kson is, Nazuna is incredibly refined and doesn't actively put mature content into her streams.
  • Unusual Halo: Nazuna's is a Hard Light halo with a single small wing attached. Not only that, it also appears somewhat broken up, perhaps pertaining to the events of Mouse's lore video.
